Dénia - TV Documentary 2017. The Place to Live & Visit. (32 min.) - Duration: 32:00.

What is Dénia all about?

Let's find out!

Dénia is brilliant, I mean it's a great place to live, a great place to work and

a great place to come on holiday as well.

I'm English and very single.

Thank you!

The questions are about social security and income tax.

This is really, really fun!

There is no need for me to go to Florida anymore, because there is everything here.

Stephanie, how did it all come about?

1997 the Marina was founded and the main idea was just to make a small port with just one or two buildings

but in the end they realized that we needed many more facilities, so that's why we built a bigger Marina with all

the services for our clients also because we are very close to the Balearic Islands.

Do you have facilities for all size of boats here?

Well, we have the smallest moorings which are for 12 metre boats and the largest moorings

are for 50 to 60 metre boats.

And you have lots of different restaurants; variety here is huge.

Yes, it's quite international and every restaurant has a different range.

We have everything really.

Lots of nautical companies as well.

Yes, they are here especially to service all the boats.

This marina has 400 moorings.

What about Dénia?

What can a young person like you do here?

Especially if you speak your languages it's quite easy to find a job because

you've got many foreign people living here.

You've got the beaches, you've got many boat activities, you've got the mountain.

I'll show you one of the pontoons which we have finger print recognition.

It's quite a secure system.

This is one of the pontoons where we have our moorings with the boats and…

Let me stop you right there.

Mooring?

Explain for those who have no idea what that is.

Mooring is just a parking space for a boat.

All right.

And depending on the size…

So that would be...

This is one mooring exactly with its electricity and water meter.

Our captain Gabriel Martinez, he has a good vision for the future and he has a lot of experience.

There is a lot more people that come to Dénia to enjoy the vacation here.

And we think that will go up.

We just want people to be happy at Marina de Dénia and give them all the services we can.

Show me Dénia please.

Well, this side is Dénia, the Marina is here and then this is Dénia.

Here we have the castle, this is the main street and the old town and here are the beaches.

Nadja, you are German, what are you doing here in Dénia?

I was a bit bored in Germany and so I just decided to go...

to different place and I found Dénia.

Now, I opened up this salon and I like it.

I stayed.

It's a nice town, nice people...

nice weather.

I do perms.

I do colours; I do highlights.

Haircuts for men, women, children.

This is the electrically heated haircut scissor, it seals the ends and the hair is not going to dry out

and it keeps them healthier.

My dad is also working here —he is doing the medical pedicure.

I love to help people who have problems, and I went into this and I have a lot of experience over the 30 years.

And you are play in the band as well?

Yes, I do, I'm a drummer in the OK band and we do a lot of charities.

Here is the big German community and we can meet in bars and there is a lot of live music.

We meet a bunch of people, English people, German people, Swiss people and its fun.

OK, great…

Hello.

Hello Natalia, how are you?

Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you.

We are here since 5 years and we are used car dealer for our International customers.

We have all different kinds of cars, all brands.

We trade in cars from our customers; we help finding or searching a car

and within the last 5 years we had more than 1,500 cars here.

Buying and selling cars is not as easy as in other countries.

Why?

The paper work, the law.

And I know from a lot of customers, they had very bad experience in the past with whatever.

Car dealers, private sellers, so we care for everything and we make sure that it's a safe deal.

I was working 20 years for BMW and I learnt my business in Germany and I just do the same here.

And this is our indoor showroom.

Here we have all more valuable cars, the convertibles which we like to show with an open roof.

And we have our own mechanics, we test all the cars, we make the maintenance, we have only cars

with guaranteed kilometres.

We work with Carfax.

Which is a system we can check through the chassis number the history of the car.

You see the number of owners, we see the real mileage because we had a lot of customers they came to us and

asked for trade in with their car and we couldn't take it because the milage was much higher than they thought.

I was always working a lot of time in Germany, I never was a home.

So we decided to create a family here

and the kids went to school

and the university and everything and yeah...

So, we are here more than 15 years already.

Is Dénia a good place to live?

It's a beautiful place to live.

Dénia has a very special atmosphere, it's not only about the climate but it's very international.

We have here all different nations.

We have a lot of possibilities for your spare time.

You are close to the sea, sailing, the mountains.

We have adventure parks close in Benidorm.

We are in between Valencia and Alicante in the very middle so that's easy to reach two airports to get

International flights.

They are two very interesting cities with a big culture.

There is no need for me to go to Florida anymore because there is everything here.

When you come for retirement it's very easy because you will find people from new nation everywhere,

but they don't adjust very easy when they have to work here in Spain because it's a different reality.

You cannot start a business here and think it works like at home, they are coming from tax office, the town hall,

the license things.

You have to inform yourself very good.

You have to have a lot of endurance.

I was born in Pakistan and basically we moved to Denmark when I was a child.

My family and the children were born there.

And what do you like about Dénia?

At the beginning I was kind of upset because it's a small town but after a while I felt that it's a beautiful place

and we have a lot of tourists.

This year we had more than 50,000 people coming to Dénia.

People come here because there is fun in Dénia.

We have very good pastas, salads and 27 different pizzas.

Next door we have Turkish kebab that is one of the best known in Dénia.

So where is the passion for food coming from? Did you do it before?

Yes, I have had a restaurant in Denmark.

We have the third business, we work with MoneyGram, RIA and Money Trans, 3 different companies.

We transfer and receive the money from all over the world and we send it.

As you can see over there, this is the Central Bus Station, all 3 shops are in front of the bus stops.

Thank you.

Mark, Philip tell us what are you doing here?

Primary reason for being here is to offer the expat community a facility to buy high end, quality items.

We are Costa Blanca's premier antique shop and auction house.

Primarily we were a consignment store and we also offer the confidential service for dependants of

deceased estates and find that's a core part of our business.

Obviously being able to trade and sell on the items at the market value.

We provide this in the store and during online auctions.

And also we sell on 3 different websites, we hold auctions at approximately every 2 months.

Today we have an auction at 4 o'clock, we have over 450 lots, one of the star lots being a Picasso painting,

we also have 3 Dali paintings and some other really, really good items.

What are the prices for the items that you have?

We offer a whole cross section.

Items for example for a euro to high end articles such as the Picasso here

that we are expecting to get about to get about 30.000 for today.

Between us I think we've been involved in the business over 25 years.

My family was in it, so I sort of grew up in it.

Myself and Mark met 5 or 6 years ago on the Costa Blanca.

Doing what we do, going to the rastros, going to the antique shops, bumping into each other and finding

out that we were competition.

So we merged ourselves together.

Great!

My wife is Spanish, she is from Madrid, but has lived in Dénia most of her life.

We met in Dublin, Ireland and moved back over to Dénia and we've been here since.

So you are Irish, you are English.

I'm English and very single.

Hello, how are you?

I came to Dénia in 1981.

How was it then?

The harbour, the terminal which goes to Ibiza and the islands wasn't there.

And also the sport harbour, la Marina de Dénia wasn't there.

The entrance into Dénia that wasn't there either.

I can't even think how we got into Dénia.

Other things which you would wonder why in more than 30 haven't changed yeah, but that's another story.

Técnicos Asociados Consulting is a service office.

What we do is, we give legal and tax advice all around the property business.

For buying property, selling property and legal issues this is what we look after so that the house owner can

simply enjoy the stay here in Dénia and surroundings.

What is CEDMA?

CEDMA in the first place stands for Cercle Empresarial de la Marina Alta.

This is a federation of business associations and we cover the whole area not only Dénia, it's Marina Alta.

Sonja, why would a foreign business join CEDMA?

I would recommend any foreign or Spanish firm or business people to join CEDMA, or one of

the associations, because it will always give them advice, be updated in legal advice.

Have the continuous education to networking, lots of networking, learn to know people and finally to really

be integrated into the local society.

When foreign people come to live here, they have always the same questions.

The questions are about social security and the questions are about income tax, so I mean we are

the experts Tecnicos Asociados Consulting, they only have to come and visit us.

Perfect, see you later then.

See you…

Tell me about the history of this shop.

Okay, my father started it 1975

and now we have 3 shops.

We work him, his wife and me.

Okay, and you will take over the tradition?

We hope so, yes.

You buy this pendant.

You open it like this and then you can put inside the different coins.

That's very original.

Yes, different colors, stones, pearls.

We do repairs.

See you later, bye.

Elena when did you start this business?

We opened M.K. Toldos in 2011.

We have International clients and we offer free estimates.

We come to your house, measure and give you the offer.

Hello guys, how are you?

We came on holidays here last year and we loved the place.

Why don't we go to Spain?

Build up something new here, winter is cold in Switzerland and we came here, we were looking

for a house and then we found this place.

On these tracks it's possible to play on 18 holes.

And you have people of all ages coming here?

Yeah, we have children from about 5 years up to older people 70, 75.

It's fun for everybody, from young to old.

It's a good exercise for concentration, hand eye coordination and passion.

The most important thing is to have fun.

To be outside, to meet other people.

I started to play competitions and training, meeting people.

For 30 years I've been playing mini golf.

Temperatures are great in winter, it's warm.

In summer you have really warm temperature, the sea is close, it's a fantastic place to live.

Tell me a little bit about your restaurant.

We've been open since 2005.

Now, we are one of the longest running restaurants in the Marina.

Christmas is over, so we do need to take the decorations down.

We do a menu of the day which we try to use seasonal fruits and vegetables at a very reasonable price,

hence the reason why we are usually so busy.

It's a beautiful day today, in the middle of January and yet we've had 18 degrees, people on our terrace,

people inside.

What more could you want?

Latitude is in Marina de Dénia.

What we are going to do now, we are going to enjoy Jet Ski on the other side of the port in Marina El Portet.

Hello, how are you?

Alvaro, what are you doing here?

We have different brands.

We are dealing Yamaha, we have rental of Jet Skies, we do tours with Jet Skies, quad, kayaks,

bikes, a lot of things.

This is fun.

And you have been here for 15 years?

Yes, we started with quads and now we follow with more activities, we do buggies, tours

in Las Rotas with kayaks, Jet Skies.

It's fantastic.

But, you are from Valencia.

Yes.

Why did you move to Dénia?

I like it, it's fantastic.

You have this sea, the mountains.

What do you want more?

Nice food.

This is for the Jet Ski.

Explain to me how this works please.

Okay, this is the key for the Jet Ski.

We connect it here.

This is the start, stop and gas.

It's very easy and here is the break and reverse.

This is really, really fun.

Put the belt on and let's go!

Veronica, what is Bona Platja?

Bona Platja is a family restaurant.

We have been here more than 50 years.

We have a large selection of Mediterranean food.

Yvonne, you are German.

What are you doing here in Dénia?

I came here when I was 12 years old with my parents because of work they had better chance to work here

and open a restaurant and I had to go to school here and join Spanish people.

We do have some German dishes, but normally we have everything International from steaks to fish.

We are specialized in flammkuchen, it's very thin, so it's a kind of pizza the German way.

And light, very light…

Yes.

I'm the waitress here, my mom is in the kitchen and my dad is behind the bar, serving drinks and also serving

food if he needs to help.

Life in Germany is a bit more stressed because everyone goes his way like all straight ahead.

Over here it's more cozy.

Sandra, tell me, how did you get to Dénia?

My parents came to Dénia when I was a child, so I live here for 30 years.

Okay, and where is the passion for dentistry coming from?

It's a family tradition.

But, you are not a dentist?

No, I'm not a dentist, I'm only the owner.

I like my job.

What do you offer here?

We offer all treatments from children to old persons, from implants, prosthetic, and normal treatments;

all around what needs to be done.

How are you different than other clinics?

We have our own laboratory and that's why the prosthetic treatments go little bit quicker

and when people are here on holidays we can make a quick treatment.

Bay Radio is the biggest English radio station in Spain and we've been broadcasting over the last 12 years

and we've been growing bigger and bigger every year.

We now broadcast all the way from Dénia all the way down to Cartagena along the Mediterranean coast.

We've got amazing range of DJs and presenters and a great team behind us producing some of the best radio

around here really.

Our demographic is for ages 45 plus and we found that that's really, really working for us.

We work with some of the biggest brands who advertise with Bay Radio and use us to get the message out there.

Where is the future of Bay Radio?

I've got some great plans for Bay Radio for this year.

I just wanted it to get bigger and better, we are going to be expanding even further.

I can't give you many details at the moment, but we are going to be getting bigger and expanding our coverage

area throughout Spain.

And you have been here for how many years?

I started here in 2005, the first day the Bay Radio started.

And why is Dénia a place to live and visit?

Dénia is brilliant, it's a great place to live, a great place to work and a great place to come on holiday as well.

It's got everything.

It's got great restaurants, it's got night life, great shops and it's also got a little bit of culture as well.

It's got amazing churches, Castle as well to visit and lots of different things if you are into sports and hiking

and different things.

Dénia has got everything.

It's brilliant.

What have we got here in wintertime?

We still have got fantastic weather, the roads are quieter which is nice but there is still lots of lovely things to do

and lots of sports and things to do, restaurants to go to and still a great vibe during the winter

as well as the summer months.

What is it that is so special about this place?

Irish theatre?

Yes, it's an Irish pub, gin club, we have all types of gin, we have lot of types of different beers,

International beers and we have live music every weekend, Friday and Saturday.

We have karaoke on Thursdays too which is fun.

It's really good fun.

We have events too, we have suppers, we have dinners, we prepare all sorts of celebrations;

whatever you really need.

It's really nice.

Are you open all year long?

Yes…

So even though you are Spanish you have this amazing British accent, how come?

Well, I was born in Dénia, but my parents are English.

My dad came from Birmingham when he was 14 years old and he started living in Benidorm

and he came over to Dénia.

So, I was really born here, I spoke Spanish at school and with my friends and then at home I've always spoken

English, so that's why my English accent.

And you can practice with all the British people here?

Yes, with all the British, with the Dutch too, we speak in English with them, yes.

Tell us about these candles, it's beautiful.

What is happening here?

These candles are here, because today is la Nit de la Llum which means the Night of the Light

and it's on all night, it's really nice, all in the center of Dénia.

What is Dorian gray?

Dorian Gray is a night icon in Dénia.

And we are in the center of Dénia, just next door to the town hall.

So you party with the Mayor?

Yes, yes…

Claudio, how come you are here from Argentina?

This place is very sunny.

I like the people that live here.

Also I think, it's a good place to offer the Argentinian food because we are unique here in Dénia.

This is Margarita, my partner, she is the best.

We use for the parillada argentina a different kind of meat, we select this meat from Ávila,

it's 100% organic meat.

Vegetarians, do you have something to eat here?

We have pizza, we have the vegetarian parillada.

There are different kinds of vegetables and we make barbecue.

Bye, bye Natalia

Tummy tuck by Dr. Hourglass, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Sn Antonio - Duration: 5:08.

Hi, this is Dr. Hourglass, and welcome to another video in our channel Star Bodies.

Today we are going to discuss if you can still have a pre-baby tummy.

In this channel we discuss everything you need to know to get that star body that you want.

Welcome back.

The tummy tuck is a procedure to tighten your belly.

As a matter of fact, it is the only procedure that can enhance your belly and make it look flat

and tight similar to where you were before having babies and gaining weight.

You need to understand that you will never have a pre-baby tummy regardless of how good your skin tone

was before surgery due to the damages it sustained during pregnancy and weight gain.

One of the telltale signs of a poor skin tone are stretch marks.

Stretch marks are essentially scars that result from the skin being stretched

as internal components are damaged and reoriented in a different molecular pattern.

Despite cutting the excess skin to make your belly look tighter, surgeons cannot change the essence

or the internal structures of the skin when performing a tummy tuck.

While your belly will still look great after the procedure, your skin won't be as tight as it was before pregnancy.

In this video, we discussed if you can still have a pre-baby tummy.

In the next video, we discuss the difference of excess skin and skin tone.

Remember to comment below, share this video, like this video, and subscribe to our channel

for more information, here at the Star Bodies channel, only on YouTube.

Also, you can log in to our website,

for more information about your procedure and to see amazing surgical results.

Remember to log on to our Hourglass TV for more information about your surgical procedures.

On Monday we have Bootyman for everything related to buttock enhancement procedures.

Wednesdays we have Star Bodies. If you want to have a star body log on to our Hourglass TV.

Thursdays: Hourglass OR you're going to see me doing live surgeries with before and after pictures.

So I went to Sacramento for work | It's Just (A)Bad Vlog - Duration: 5:45.

[Music by David Cutter Music, hip hop mixed with electric music using sampling]

[Music shortly cuts] Jess: Terrible. Terrible Vlogger!

[Friend, Domo: Laughing in the background]

Terrible. Hi, Dominique, hi.

Domo: Hi!

[Music cuts back in]

[Music overlaying] Jess: There's a dog down there....I like it.

[Crowd noises, music still overlayed]

Jess: It's over here.

For, uh, Debbie...Debbie Reynolds.

Aww...

[More crowd noises, car honking, chattering]

Boy....Oh man, you can even, like, see the star

[Electronic dance music is playing off in the distance coming from a nearby tourist trap shop we are about to enter]

Jess: Chin up, Rey, it's gonna be okay.

She looks down!

So sad!

Jess: Look how extra this place is. [Domo laughs]

I wanna get married here.

[That electronic dance music is still playing]

[Cut out music, new scene. Jazzy saxophone in the background]

It's toilet paper. Rude.

[with a sarcastic So Cal girl voice] Hey, what's up, you guys. Uhm. So we're in our new ride.

[Music: more David Cutter Music] Jess: It's like super cool.

It's like kinda hipster. Kind of like "soccer mom" look.

Cuz it's a mini van.

Uhm. Yeah. I know. It's not a big deal. I'm like really humble.

[I'm just pretending to be in a "found footage" video.]

Domo: You gotta make it shaky though.

Jess, dramatically breathing: I'm so shaky. Where are we? [heavy breathing] I have to breathe

RIGHT INTO THE MICROPHONE!

Jess:OMG it's Shrimp Chips

[Listening to Gabriel Iglesias' stand up special] Stereo: For George Bush, Press 3. For John Kerry, Press 4. Other Options, Press 5.

Stereo: Don't like either one? Press 5.

[Domo, watching a trailer for CONfessionals, a web series] Domo: AHHHHH!

Jess: BOY! [DOMO FAN GIRL SCREAMS] BOYYY....BOI

We are at a gas station! It is RAINING.

Y'screaming a lot.

[J. Michael Tatum, in the trailer video saying "Unique New York x2, UGH! I can't do this"]

Jess: I don't know what's happening.

Stereo, Jim Gaffigan's Stand up special: Oh you're from Indiana? Oh well welcome. This is electricity.

[David Cutter Music still overlaid]

Jess: Ah, yes. The old hood, as it were.

Jess: Ooo. This is our backyard. This is where the kids play.

In the street. They play their stick ball.

Topher: Now I put on the hat and now I'm a professional driver.

Jess: You look like a professional golfer.

Topher: I put the hood and I become assassin.

Jess: I "assass!"

Topher: OH I didn't even bring my Assassin's Creed jacket! Mother bitch...

Jess: Mother bitch ahaha

[More jazz music] Good...Good. yes.

[Impersonating Joanne the Scammer, Domo has a weird laugh] Jess: Hello. Yes. Welcome to my caucasian home.

These are...These are real Malaysian granite floors. Honestly.

I wouldn't lie to you.

We've got espresso, but. But that's over, it's cancelled.

Uhm. There's my House Asian. Looking very ethnic.

[Back to my normal voice] Terrible. Absolutely terrible!

Stuff is happening.

Not really.

[on set for a web series kind of chatter]

I don't know.

Do I look cool?

Domo: Yes.

Thank you.

Domo: You're welcome.

Oh. I need to adjust this.

[Moana "How Far I'll Go" parody]

Jess: What are you trying to say, man?

[Outro music, just more David Cutter]

SB 70: Shining More Light on Civil Asset Forfeiture - Duration: 3:17.

(upbeat instrumental music)

- Hi, this is Nichelle Aiden with Libertas Institute,

here at the Capitol with Senator Howard Stephenson

to talk about Senate Bill 70 on Civil Asset Forfeiture

Transparency.

First of all, can you just explain what civil asset

forfeiture is and a little bit about your bill?

- Civil asset forfeiture is where the law enforcement

seizes the assets of somebody they suspect to be guilty

of a crime, but it's not criminal asset forfeiture,

which would be, once you're convicted of a crime,

they can then seize your property.

But instead this is civil asset forfeiture, which means that

they can take your property before you are proven guilty.

And we're trying to control that,

limit the amount that they're doing there.

- Perfect.

You've been a long time advocate for restricting

civil asset forfeiture.

Why is this so important to you?

- Well when this was run on the ballot in 2000, or 2002,

I was the person on the TV ads urging people to vote for it,

and the Utah public voted nearly 70% in favor of limiting

the ability of government to seize our assets before

we're proven guilty of something.

In that time we ensured that it go to not law enforcement,

but to education purposes, so there's no motive for law

enforcement to seize our property because they profit

from it.

But since then, the bill has, the initiative has been

undermined by the legislature and we're seeking to restore

the way it was when the people voted on it.

My bill basically requires there to be accurate reporting

of the data, so that we can make judgements about whether

they are appropriately managing those assets that have

been seized.

- Perfect.

You're trying to add some additional

reporting requirements this year.

Do you expect that it'll be unanimous support again?

How do you think it'll go?

- In committee there were some concerns,

but it did pass out unanimously.

I hope that the bill will pass unanimously this year too,

because transparency is something we should expect

when government is seizing citizen's properties.

Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

And that's what this does, it shines a bright light on what

is happening to those assets, how many are being taken

by whom and for what purpose, and where they're being used.

How much of that is federal asset forfeiture,

how much of it is state and local.

- Perfect.

legislator, just click on the link in the description below.

Thank you so much for you time.

- Thank you.

Dear Love of My Life Part 1 | Spoken Word Poetry | By: Poetic Daisy - Duration: 1:13.

Dear Love of My Life Part 1

Dear Love of My Life,

These letters are so long overdue.

I've been talking about who Hurt me, but rarely acknowledge you.

You helped me when I didn't know what to do

And accepted that my love poems are few And far between.

You didn't care if my heartbreak was seen, So long as you knew you did your job

And there was no reason for my heart to throb Any longer.

You made me stronger Being by my side,

And strive-ing To provide

The love and support I need.

You promised to never mislead Me.

He- Caused pain, you healed the wound

And showed me that my heart could be consumed With love, feet floating off the ground.

What a sweet man I found To cherish, to love forever more

And open the door To my heart for.

What a man to pour My heart to.

What a man I have in you, So I just want to thank you

For loving me.

The End.
