Growing Out A Pixie ~ Secrets to a Good Haircut and Meet My Hairdresser - Duration: 9:54.[Audio Length: 00:09:53] RECORDING COMMENCES:
Rajka Hayden: Welcome to the Dress Up Mom.
I have been growing out a pixie for the last six months, and it would have been much more
difficult if I didn't have a really great stylist that I know and trust and knows my
hair.
It's actually been kind of painless, and she's given me these great styles all along.
Today, I'm going to take you and introduce you to my hairstylist, Christina.
We're going to talk about growing out a pixie, how to find a good hairstylist, and all things
related to hair.
But first, thank you so much for watching.
If you like what you're seeing, please give us a thumbs-up and subscribe if you haven't
already.
We're also on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook at The Dress Up Mom.
Now, let's go get my hair cut.
Christina: Good to see you.
Rajka Hayden: Good to see you.
This is Christina, my fabulous hairstylist.
We are at Sweet L in Encinitas, and I have known Christina for way too long.
It's been 10, 15 years.
We actually met when Christina was in beauty school, and we've been following her around
since then.
Christina: Faithful client.
Rajka Hayden: Yeah.
So, one of the things we want to talk about is how you find a good hair person, a hairstylist.
The way I found Christina, I was new to the area and her sister worked with me and I loved
her sister's hair.
So, I asked—
Christina: Very similar hair types.
Rajka Hayden: Oh, that's even better.
So, I asked her, where do you get your hair cut?
She goes, my sister cuts it at home.
She's going to beauty school.
That's how we started coming to you.
How would you recommend that people find a good hairstylist?
Christina: Really similar to the way you did.
I would go around wherever you're shopping, you're going to school, whatever you're doing,
find somebody's hair that you like and ask them where they get their hair done.
It's a huge compliment for a person to—
Rajka Hayden: Even feel weird about walking up to a person
and being like, I love your hair.
Where do you—
Christina: Everyone loves to hear that their hair is
cute.
Rajka Hayden: I brought my phone, because I sometimes show
her stuff on Pinterest that I've been pinning, but what should we do here?
Christina: Well, consultation is always really important
for the beginning of any haircut, no matter how long you've been going to the person.
You always want to talk to them about what your hair is doing right now and where you
want it to go.
Like you said, pictures of what your goal is.
Just reiterating that is good every time.
So, I know that we're growing out the pixie, which was adorable on Rajka, and now we've
gotten into the bob stage.
Now, from here, we can kind of go in any direction.
Rajka Hayden: So, Christina, what would you say that is
the biggest mistake people make with their stylist?
Christina: With their stylist, as in growing out a pixie?
Or just in general?
Rajka Hayden: Just in general.
Christina: I think usually the biggest problem people
have is lack of communication.
Between you and I, I could say, let's cut your hair short, over the ear.
In my mind, that is over the ear and you see your ear.
In your mind, that covers your ear.
You have to decide what exactly each thing needs, and you can't just assume that they
understand what you're talking about.
That's why pictures are really great, because you're both on the same page.
If you brought a photo in that, you know, Rajka, this just isn't your hair type.
This isn't going to happen.
Your hairstylist is the one who should be telling you the truth.
You don't want a hairstylist that's just a yes man, who's going to say, okay, let's
do anything.
You want them to be honest with you or at least work with you on that.
Maybe your hair can't do exactly that, but what do you like about this?
Maybe we can do something that will work with your hair, similar to this style.
Rajka Hayden: Okay, great.
What would you say bugs you the most about clients?
How to be a good client?
Christina: How to be a good client?
Be consistent with your appointments.
That's a huge part of it, because a lot of people, they really need their hair cut every
six weeks and they go every three months and then when they come in, they expect miracles.
There's a little bit of a maintenance side involved in it, and I understand that logics
and everybody's different.
I totally get that, but it's kind of along the same lines as just having that conversation,
having communication.
It's just this style is going to need upkeep.
This look is going to need—if somebody comes in and they should have come in six weeks,
they come in two months and they say, I just can't do this.
I just can't have it.
I go, yeah, you're right.
It's grown out completely.
It isn't what we cut.
You should have been here four weeks ago.
That's part of it.
It's just being consistent, being realistic, but again, that's up to me as well to be there.
You wouldn't try to fix your own car.
If you don't know what's wrong, you take it to the mechanic.
You can't tell a mechanic, it's my transmission.
They're like, okay, cool.
Yeah, it is.
It could be your brakes.
You let the professional do their job.
Rajka Hayden: Great.
Now, how is it that you've made my pixie grow out so fun and not—I was dreading it, because
I've heard so many people talk about hating growing out a pixie.
First off, she gave me an unbelievable pixie cut that I loved and wore for a couple years.
And then I just wanted to have a little change.
I'll probably go back to a pixie again, especially now that I know it was fun and easy to grow
it out.
What did you do?
Christina: My personal philosophy is just to have fun
in the process.
You don't want to have to think of, okay, I have a pixie.
Now, for the next four months, I'm going to have this horrendous, hideous hair.
I don't think that that has to happen.
I don't think that has to be.
I think you can have fun in the in between stages and that's important as well for me
to remember for you.
Not just look at you and go, well, it's going to suck for a while.
There may be a few things that you don't love here and there, but you'll work through
them and we'll work through them, and it's important to make sure that you as the client
are still having fun with it.
If your hair isn't fun, then what's the point?
Rajka Hayden: I agree.
Christina: Yeah.
Typically, I like to ask the client what their styling regimen is.
That's a huge point or part of the hair style and the hair cut, is knowing, are you going
to do this at home?
Are you going to—because, I can give you a fantastic haircut and style and flat iron
everything, but if there is a one in 50 chance that you're going to do that yourself every
day, there's no point, because you're just going to have hair that you fight with all
the time.
So, I'm really big on getting people hair styles and haircuts that work with them.
They're cute, trendy, and modern, but still work with their lifestyle.
So, what we're doing now is just going through the haircut.
I've dried it.
I mostly just dried it by hand.
With Rajka's hair, you don't want to get in with the round brush, because we're going
to create this big, giant bouffant that you have to tame and you don't want to have
to tame hair after that.
I dried it by hand and then flat ironed it.
Now, she isn't normally an every day flat iron kind of girl.
It's a nice look for her to have if she does want to do something for special, go out,
have something sleek, chic, maybe for the holidays you'll do something like this.
But her every day look, if it looks good straight, completely straight and done, it's going to
look great wavy, curly, you just got out of hot yoga or whatever you have.
A huge part of it, too, is, and this is a personal preference, but I think that it works
the best, honestly.
I do a lot of my especially short haircuts.
I do half-wet, half-dry.
If I was going to do the whole thing wet, if we wore our hair wet all the time, okay,
that makes sense.
But you don't.
You wear it and then it dries and then you go, oh, crap.
This doesn't look good dry.
It looked good wet, but what is this?
So, you really want to go through, especially with very detailed cuts.
You want to make sure the sides, there's a tiny bit off on this one side that I want
to break up a little bit.
I never would have seen that wet at all.
With her hair, especially it's thick, too.
So, with the thickness, we want to go through, texturize a little more, take out some weight
in places that it needs it, and leave it where it doesn't.
So, we can ultimately leave her as much hair as possible on her head.
We're still filling in these sides.
We've got these layers that are still going to grow.
We didn't really take any length off those.
If anything, we just took a little bit of weight out, brought this back up nicely, which
I'm going to show you as well, and brought it nice and shaped in, following the head
shape, which keeps it looking feminine, no matter what the short haircut is.
The basic thing, we're just having fun with.
We're going to play with.
We're going to see where we go from here.
If she wants to grow them out with the rest of the layers, if she wants to keep them shorter,
there's a lot of different ways you can go with that and keep it fun.
Rajka Hayden: Yeah.
So, I've been really enjoying my hair journey, and I think what it's made me do is realize
that I'm just going to keep on a hair journey my whole life.
No need to keep it the same.
Maybe I'll stick with something for a little while, but I could never do it without you,
my honey.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate it.
I appreciate you doing this and letting people know everything that goes into cutting hair,
finding a good person.
So, I hope you guys really enjoyed this.
I had a lot of fun doing it.
Until next time, dress it up a little.

KungFu Yuehun 2x2 Review The Best 2x2 ❓ | SpeedCubeShop.com #cubing [UHD] - Duration: 1:43.costing half as much as most other 2x2s yet outperforming most of them is this the best
that 2x2s have to offer.
hey, guys, it's cubing on my mind and if this is your first time on my channel make sure
to hit that subscribe button for more content like this, but let's get into the video.
it cost almost $6 on speedcubeshop measures in at about 50.mm and has the standard MoYu/QiYi
Color Scheme. out of the box, it was a little scratchy but
after 200 solves and lubing it with Lubicle Silk and the core with wt. 6 from scs, it
became buttery smooth.
its feeling reminds me of the thunderclap because of the buttery smooth yet harsh snappiness
to it.
on the reliability chart it's pretty good it never pops or corner twists and lockups
rarely happen.
corner cutting is a little over 45 and reverse is approximately half a cubie.
now the mechanism resembles a mix of the old plastic Dayan and the lingpo.
overall this is a great cube if you already have a cube that you love then you don't need
to get it but if you're in the market for a new main this is a must have.
Pros: very stable, good corner cutting, a great price, perfect feel and a good flow.
Cons: there's a small part where it can't cut and feels a tiny bit cheap.
Do you have this cube let me know what you think in the comments and drop a like to let
me know that you enjoy this kind of content and want more?
If this is your first time here make sure to hit that subscribe button and check out

Baha® System Recipient Describes How Her Life Changed with Cochlear Hearing Technology, Accessories - Duration: 3:25.(gentle music)
- My name is Debra and I'm from Tampa, Florida.
I was diagnosed having a cholesteatoma,
a tumor that is very invasive and very destructive.
I went from being able to partially hear in my right ear
to being totally deaf in my right ear.
I missed out on so much of the conversations,
even when they were just right in front of me.
The Baha System has been life-changing for me.
For the first time in my life I can hear in stereo.
I can hear on both sides.
And I can hear people talking to me
even if there is noise in the background.
I'm looking forward to richer relationships,
richer interactions with friends and family,
and now I'm excited because I don't have
to miss out on anything anymore.
I can hear with the Baha technology,
but with the True Wireless technology,
I can hear even better.
It makes it crisper, sharper, and with the MiniMic,
when my daughters come over for dinner,
I can put the MiniMic in the middle of the table,
and I can hear everyone sitting at the table,
and we can truly engage in a conversation.
The Made for iPhone technology,
it makes life so much easier.
I don't have to hold the phone up to my ear.
I can hear.
It streams it directly into my processor
so I hear it loud and clear, right in my ear.
I can just pull out my iPhone and having
that app gives me accessibility to adjusting the volume.
I can even adjust the treble or the bass.
It will even give me an alert
when my battery in my processor is running low.
Sometimes I still get very emotional when I talk
about how having the Baha System
and having all of the different technology,
all of the different accessories,
all the phone app, and what it gives me.
The freedom that it gives me.
It kind of brings tears to my eyes.
I'm going to be a grandma for the first time.
I am fully looking forward to having that little grandson
that I won't miss out on a single thing in his life
like I did when my girls were babies.
And now I'm living life so much more fully
and I feel like I'm so much more of
an active participant in everything that I do.
I wish everybody who had a hearing loss
could experience what I'm hearing now
and what I'm feeling now.
It is an emotional experience,
and it has been a life-changing experience for me.

DEUS EX MD GIVEAWAY, MUSLIM BAN AFFECTS GAMING, SWITCH, BIOWARE + - Duration: 7:33.Hello everyone and welcome to This Week in Gaming, the friday news show that keeps you
informed on the gaming world.
If you enjoy the friday show please be sure to drop a like,
let's get into it
<title>
So first up congrats to José K who won last weeks giveaway of Dead Effect 2,
You should by now have a steam gift email.
And for this week I've decided on a AAA title to see how it goes,
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, A comment was made not too long ago about it being weird that
Adam Jenson now does youtube videos,
So it's kind of a perfect pick.
To have a chance of winning a copy of Deus Ex Mankind Divided simply click the gleam
link in the description where youll be able to enter.
Now that that's out the way
<title: Muslim ban affects gaming>
Now the muslim ban, or to be more specific,
the ban on travellers from 7 of many countries that have a primarily Muslim population,
Its affecting everything, even gaming, with game developers among the 'all walks of life
folk' who are now having real trouble getting into the U.S. for their jobs,
Publisher 'Devolver Digital' has anounced some plans to help developers unable to enter
the U.S. for the upcoming Game Developers Conference in San Fransisco.
Providing Gaming PC's and VR Headsets to help promote their games for them, obviously, they
can't help everyone, but it would seem they will do what they can,
It's really good to see people helping other people like this and the promotion Devolver
will get due to this act was clearly helpful in their decision to do so,
but I encourage spreading of the word for this as they deserve all the promo they can
get.
<title: Switch Luanch Release List is Weak>
Many have been saying they think the launch list for the Nintendo Switch is a little weak,
And sure, it is a bit, but I remember most consoles used to have fairly bad offerings
with 1-3 great games and lots of fluff,
In this regard, to me at least, it seems fairly standard.
The President of Nintendo 'Tatsumi Kimishima' spoke on this subject in a recent earning
briefing, expressing how this is all to plan,
as most of the time, big launches end with a large lack of sales and slow down on playing
the consoles as there is a huge gap between launch and more games being released,
Nintendos staggered release is to combat that and have a more consistent release schedual
for games.
This strategy seem the smart way to go for me, sell few sell high is always a good strategy
if you can pull it off,
by staggering the release lists and having less choice early on, they will most likely
increase their overall sales as a lot of people will commit to a certain amount of game before
they even pick them.
So will be more likely to buy those extra titles they wouldn't have chosen if there
was a bigger flashier game available.
Later on, when the big flashy titles come out, they will still buy them as they wanted
them in the first place.
Also in this briefing Tatsumi Kimishima anounced that the In developement list for the Switch
is now more than 100 games
So don't let the launch list fool you, there'll be plenty of games to play.
<title: Bioware teases new Game>
Bioware has been teasing us a little with it's new game, estimated at an April 2018
release, they tease it will be a new type of game we have never played before,
They are mixing genres and building a whole new franchise, They are calling it an action
adventure, and they are saying f%^& all about it.
With that mystery, their obvious passion, and their history in video games, I am getting
a little excited for what this may be, let's hope it doesn't get overhyped and we get ourselves
an awesome game next year.
<title: Fallout 4 and Skyrim Updates>
Bethesda are all about the updates at the moment by giving out a free update labelled
as a love letter for Fallout 4 that is essentially an uber texture pack, giving PC users and
Playstation 4 Pro users largely increased visual fidelity,
The PC update is recommended for those with 1080 graphics card, this is a bit friggin'
steep and it will most likely work on less powerful cards, I assume they are accounting
for high setting 4k here, where as 1080 and 2k users will probably be fine with a 970,
980, 1070 etc, though this is my assumption, my logic for these thoughts are simply that
they have to give a recommended that fully works no matter what with a large room for
error to prevent fallout-
huurururururur
-from fans when everything isn't playing on ultra 4k dual monitor with the PC in an oven.
Either way, the damn things free, so try it out.
Skyrim's update is much smaller with a few quality of life changes and some hotfixes.
Check out the full list of changes in the article linked in the description.
<title: For Honor BETA>

Salah Aldeen bin Ibrahim: Leave " YOU SEE, WHAT IF" in Yemen! - Duration: 5:52.Listen to the words of a veracious companion of our beloved prophet (pbuh)...
The son of the Farouk, Omar bin Alkhattab! Abd Allah bin Omar! Heard of him?
Listen how beautiful this saying is....
A man came to Abd Allah bin Omar and said....
Now I want to tell you this beforehand because most of the work of the Mathhabs and opinions are of this nullity. Listen........
A man told Abd Allah bin Omar: What do you say in facing the black stone (in the Kaa'ba) and kissing it?
To face and kiss the black stone.....
Then Abd Allah bin Omar said... Listen.......
Our prophet (pbuh) faced it and kissed it....
Then the man said: YOU SEE, WHAT IF it got crowded ? YOU SEE, WHAT IF people beat me to it?
Meaning there was a lot of traffic around it and I couldn't reach it....
Now, this man is asking the companion of our prophet (pbuh).... That means by definition that he is one of the tabi'een (تابعين), the companion of the companions...
Better than those who followed him....
So he told him: YOU SEE, WHAT IF it got crowded ? YOU SEE, WHAT IF people beat me to it?
Ok, let's bring this matter to whomever you want, Abu Hanifa, Alshafi'i, Malik, ibin Hanbal, etc..They will say.... Well....if it got crowded... or if they beat you to it... or if they prevented you from it....etc.
Isn't it? So that the matter is complete.... Now, listen to what Abd Allah bin Omar said....
And without a doubt, Abd Allah bin Omar is more knowledgeable than all of those scholars....
WHY!?
Because our prophet said: What a wonderful man is Abd Allah bin Omar... If only he prays Qiam of the night....
So he never slept afterwards... (meaning he never slept the entirety of the night afterwards and spent some of it praying Qiam...)
Now listen how beautiful is the answer....you see, this man, Abd Allah bin Omar is the son of his father, the Farouk, Omar! Listen how beautiful the answer is.....
We carry it and follow it....
He said: Put "YOU SEE, WHAT IF..." In Yemen!!!!
The man is asking..... YOU SEE, WHAT IF it got crowded ? YOU SEE, WHAT IF people beat me to it?
Then Abd Allah bin Omar bin Alkhattab said: Put YOUR "YOU SEE, WHAT IF..." in Yemen!!!
The two men are in Medina..... He said: Put YOUR "YOU SEE, WHAT IF.." in Yemen!!! Throw it away....
Listen.... "Our prophet came face to face with the black stone and he kissed it!" Said Abd Allah bin Omar!
I swear by Allah swt that Abd Allah bin Omar was able to reply to: " YOU SEE, WHAT IF it got crowded ? YOU SEE, WHAT IF people beat me to it?"
with "Allah does not charge a soul except with that within its capacity " And if he did he wouldn't be wrong!
But it looks like they used to see things from the viewpoint of prophet-hood... They used to see " YOU SEE, WHAT IF..." as the wide gate to misguidance....
incurred it upon themselves those " YOU SEE, WHAT IF" ers.... Those who follow the opinions (not the Quran and Hadith).... and that caused them to be misguided and misguide others....
Is it possible for you (Abd Allah bin Omar) not to be able to answer " YOU SEE, WHAT IF it got crowded ? YOU SEE, WHAT IF people beat me to it?"
I swear by Allah swt that the answer is "Allah does not charge a soul except with that within its capacity "
And Abd Allah bin Omar has a much better and complete answer than mine!
He said: Put " YOU SEE, WHAT IF" in Yemen! THE SON OF HIS FATHER!!!
A veracious man and the son of a veracious man! They used to listen to a prophet among them! Put "YOU SEE, WHAT IF" in Yemen!
I swear by Allah swt, that the work of the Mathhabs and opinions is from the gates of " YOU SEE, WHAT IF" .....
So if any of you want go and review their books, go back and see how much it contains of "Allah swt said" and "our prophet said"..
Didn't one of them say in the fifth century, and I will not mention his name, he is well known to them.....
He said "most of the Sharia is from ijtihad, because the texts of the revelation (Quran and Hadith) are not enough for 1/100th of the Sharia! "
What about the rest, you punk?
" YOU SEE, WHAT IF" .........
So we say to him.... If at the time of the companions " YOU SEE, WHAT IF" used to be placed in Yemen, and he is in the 5th century....
We will place " YOU SEE, WHAT IF" and we place him behind the sun!
WHY!? Because we hate them?
But caring not to enter hell and caring for heaven!
Because the ONLY way for a man to enter heaven is by following the footsteps of our prophet (pbuh)!
So he who diverts away from the right path will perish! Clear?
Keep " YOU SEE, WHAT IF" in the valley.... in Yemen......behind the sun!
CLEAR!? And follow Muhammad (pbuh) And do not bring forth questions...
Our prophet (pbuh) said : Leave me alone as long as as I let you be...Those behind you, (people of the book) were damned due to their never-ending questions! and their discord over their prophets.....

Guy's guide: STIs - Duration: 6:23.Alright turn your head and cough
So, things are good with you. Eh, I can't complain.
You can get dressed. Go for Guy.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, slow down
What did you say? I said I forgot to bring a condom.
We had a fancy dinner,
everything went great, the whole evening was
wonderful now we're at a hotel downtown
she's trying to bring the al dente noodle to the
spaghetti factory and I don't have a
rain slicker help me out here man!
I'm on it, stay on the line. Now I need to
stay calm, we're going to talk about STIs.
STI stands for sexually transmitted
infections sometimes called STDs but no matter
what you call them, they are very common. One
in two sexually active people will get one of
these things by the age of 25
If you're at all unsure about you or your partner's STI
situation
make sure to implement one of these mamajamas.
Friend, can you hear me are you still there?
I have the package. If you don't find one by like
nine
I'm just have to go. Oh my god,
did you hear that? I think, i think i'm
gonna to see if she just wants to do it
without one. i just got tested so I know I'm good,
she look so nice and so clean. I think I'm gonna be good. You know damn
well the appearance or lack of bumps doesn't mean
jack shit! The most common symptoms
are no symptoms at all. Maybe I'll see if we can just do some oral or
other stuff. You listen to me you son of a bitch
these bastard infections don't care if it's mouth, vag, or butt stuff
you holster that Johnson until I get there
you understand me?
I need you to give me the name and room number
of the hotel
Yeah yeah 2-4...hello? Nooo!
Damn it! And even with one of these you're not
one hundred percent protected when it comes to
STIs like herpes or HPV all it takes is a little
skin to skin contact but let's be real
when it comes to protecting yourself
against STIs is having a condom is a hell of a
lot better than not having one. Still, even a
little bit of worry can take the fun out of
sex. So, your best option is to get tested on
the reg.
There are tons of places to get tested, you can even test for
some STIs in the comfort of your own home. Ask your
healthcare provider about that sweet
sitch.
Damn it! For STIs like Chlamydia and
gonorrhea you just tinkle in a cup.
Herpes can be diagnosed with a blood test and
or visual inspection by a doctor.
Okay well I took a shortcut I don't know
how I got so turned around but maybe...what
why is he honking? Hold this map i'm
going to give this man the ham and the
cheese I'll be right back
Syphilis can be tested for with a blood test, so can
HIV which can also be tested for with a
mouth swab. Who do you work for?!
Uh, Greyman Holson financial planning. When it
comes to HPV, well women can get tested
with a swab of cells taken from the cervix
right now there's no way for men to get
tested
Damn it!
And that there is a smallmouth bass and the good
thing about this fish is that--Hello? Mimi, I need your
help and I need it fast. Guy? It's wonderful
to hear your voice let me get some of them
It's important that you
remember that STIs won't always show up on
the test right away and that's because
of what's called the window period which is
the time between when you're exposed to
an STI and when it will actually register on a test.
The window period is different depending on
the STI and the type of test
okay I'm in. I need to give me a range
location I know he's at a hotel somewhere
downtown
ok i just need to bypass the firewall. Well make
sure when you get tested you mention
your timeline your doctor. Let them know
when you were last sexually active or if there was any
particular incident that you're
concerned about.
Communication is key. Damn it Mimi we're running out of time!
Got it! He's at the Winstead Hotel.
Apparently he's with a lovely lady Isabel
I'm texting her number right now
look over to your left
you should see a man standing there in
a red polo taking his third bite into
a fish fillet sandwich here down the
street behind him is the quickest
right. Got it.
The bad news: all STIs pose a serious health risk if they
don't get identified and treated in a timely manner.
The good news: you can reduce the risk of any STI so long as you
follow up with whatever treatment your healthcare
provider recommends should you test positive for anything.
And the idea of having an STI scares a lot of people
but it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's just a matter of you and
partner's ongoing health.
Don't give these STIs more power than they
have just stay informed and communicate
cause you can't deal with something you don't
know you have.
Have you seen my phone? Found one.
Stay informed and stay safe, people, because
there's just no room for stress when it comes to good sex.

Deaf First Grade Teacher Gets Her Life Back with the Cochlear™ Baha® 5 Sound Processor - Duration: 3:08.(gentle music)
- I'm Shelly Shannon from Tampa, Florida.
I was teaching first grade.
I said, "If you had $100, what would you do?"
And she said, "I would buy milk
"because my mommy can't afford any milk."
And I'm like oh, I know my true passion.
I mean, I said, I know why I'm here.
This is my purpose.
To be in this classroom.
I remember the day that I woke up and I couldn't hear.
It took my life away.
I was worried I'd never be in the classroom again.
It was a real struggle daily to go into the classroom.
I was exhausted when I came home and frustrated.
I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to continue.
Getting the Baha has changed my life.
It's given me back my classroom, my family, my friends,
the ability to go out and socialize.
I'm able to go to a restaurant, hear the waiter,
or go to Starbucks and get my coffee.
I'm able to go to the grocery store
and hear the cashier talking to me.
We sit on the porch, listen to the birds sing.
And even through the sound of the rain in the background,
I can still have a wonderful conversation with my husband.
The Made for iPhone technology makes life so much easier.
When I'm driving in the car, my oldest,
who's down in Fort Myers, can contact me,
calls me and even if my phone is off,
I can of course hear it ring.
And he is able to talk to me
directly into my sound processor.
With the Bluetooth technology,
the sound transfers straight to my sound processor.
I'm able to listen to music
for the first time in a very long time.
It's amazing.
I can hear the words.
I can understand the words.
And when I lost my hearing, I could hear something going on,
but I really couldn't understand
the words that were being said.
When shopping with my husband, I'm able to use the MiniMic,
and we're able to shop around the store
and not be in the same vicinity,
and I'm still able to hear him.
With the Baha, I hear very well,
but with the True Wireless technology, I hear even better.
That same little girl came up to me last year.
A senior in high school and she said,
she gave me a big hug and she goes,
"Mrs. Shannon, do you know who I am?
"I'm Emma, the little girl who needed the $100 for milk."
She goes, "I'm gonna be a teacher, just like you."
Teaching is my passion and the Baha
has given me back my life, my true passion.

Japanese New Year Unboxing || QBOX [CC] - Duration: 7:39.Hi, everyone! My name is Camille, and today we
have another Qbox unboxing! To be honest,
I have no idea which one this is because
I ordered a couple. I think that this is
the Mini Mystery Qbox, but I did also
order a couple themed boxes, but i'm
pretty sure they're expected to ship
later, so this should be the mystery box,
but let's find out!
Oh, my goodness. This is so magical already.
Okay, this--first of all--this is
beautiful.
I'm still pretty sure that this is the
random one, but there's a possibility
that this is the New Year's box...
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, I
have chopsticks!
I love eating with chopsticks. I'm
very good at eating with chopsticks, but
I've never had my own, like, official pair.
I've always only eaten with the
disposable chopsticks that you get at
restaurants--and a spoon!
Oh, my goodness. And of course, they come
in this beautiful, beautiful case! That's
fantastic!
And then this is the item that's making
me think it might be the New Year's box,
because you have--or I have--a little
Hello Kitty wearing a yukata! Goodness,
it's so cute
I'm not like a huge fan of Hello Kitty
specifically, but this is adorable. And
I'm pretty sure this is off-brand,
because the face doesn't look exactly
like Hello Kitty, but there's not a tag
for me to verify authenticity or not.
Either way, I love it! And here is a
Rilakkuma puzzle--a lego puzzle!
He's also wearing a little yukata. Okay,
the more i see, I'm pretty sure that this
is the New Year's box rather than the
mystery box! So the mystery box should be
here eventually.
Oh, my goodness, oh, my goodness. Are these
earrings!
Oh my goodness, these are earrings! I
think they're clip-ons, but their paper
origami crane earrings, and it looks like
these are actually paper cranes put
on earrings!
That's fabulous.
Oh, my goodness. That's so exciting--I see
stickers, I see stickers, I see stickers!!! :D
Okay, this is definitely the New Year's box,
because I recognize these New Years
symbols. I'm not very well-versed in, you
know, Japanese traditions, but I do
recognize some things. I love stickers!
What is---I try to go from top
to bottom, but I'm just--I just see
things that I have to grab them! Is this
a planner?
Oh, it's so gorgeous. Oh my goodness.
Okay, there's graph paper, that's always
useful.
I'm--well this is embarrassing...
Okay, so they just kind of stick in there;
they're not really stuck in there
Okay, so there's graph paper and address
book and more graph paper, so it's like a
multi-personal-wallet-data-collection-thing.
Interesting. Here, this looks very
Japanese. Let me get scissors.
Never mind, I don't
need scissors.
oh oh oh, okay, this is--oh, hello, it's me!
Hi! This is--wow--this is so nice
this is probably the nicest item I've
ever gotten in a Qbox--like, what!
This is wonderful quality! Sometimes
Qbox does have lower quality things, but
i do think they're improving since the
first few boxes that I got, but this is
gorgeous! Like, it's the perfect size
because I have a very small purse. I do
not carry a large handbag.
Oh, this is perfect! Oh my goodness! The
final item--I have no idea what it is...
so this appears to be--oh, it's very loud, I'll put it down.
This appears to be a little kit for, I
mean, I don't know the exact traditional
or cultural significance of this, but i'm
sure this is a New Years thing. Obviously
this jingles, and this paper seems to
supposed to be tied at the bottom, so I'm
gonna do that later! But yeah, this is
another really good quality thing. I
could--like it's heavy--I can tell that
this is like ceramic and not plastic, so
that's fantastic! I did a little research,
so I just wanted to come back and tell
you what this little wind chime is! And
basically, they believed that wind brings
epidemics, so they would put little wind
chimes out so that when the wind comes
and, you know, makes it jingle, they would
be aware of the changes coming. And the
paper--I'm probably gonna cut a different
paper that's more straight, because this
one got, you know, a little twisted when
it was stuck in the bowl--the paper hangs
you know, so that it can catch the wind
because obviously string will not catch
the wind on its own. So the paper hangs
so that it can catch the wind and move
it. So yes: history lesson or cultural
lesson or something, i don't know! Either way,
I like it!
Okay, so that was, in fact, the New Year's
box and not the mystery box I was
expecting, which is fantastic because it
came just in time for the Chinese New
Year!
Traditionally, China and Japan do share
the same New Year, which I believe was
January 28th, and even though I only just
picked up this box from the post office
today,
it did arrive on the 28th, so
I'm really upset that i missed the
opportunity to, you know, actually open it
and post this video for january 28th! But
i'm really impressed with their timing,
because usually Qbox sends things very
slowly. So anyway, these are all the
wonderful things that i got in the New
Year's Qbox! Once again, this is probably
the
highest quality box that I've ever
gotten from Qbox. My favorites are
definitely this little hand mirror and
the stickers, because i know that I'll
use those, and I'm also really excited
for these chopsticks!
As always, I will leave a link to Qbox
in the description down below! Let me
know what your favorite items are that i
unboxed today! ^.^ Thank you all so much for
watching my video! I hope you have a
super-wonderful day, and don't forget
that progress is more important than
perfection <3
