American English Idioms To Help You Be Fluent In American English - Duration: 1:39.

I've recorded a number of videos all about the types of idioms that are used in American

English.

An idiom is a phrase that cannot be understood just based on looking at the words that are

in the phrase.

It is a specific reference to something in a sport or a type of cooking or in a country's

old-fashioned saying.

And American idioms often come from sports like baseball or basketball where the rest

of the world doesn't play the sport.

So these videos explain these very common idioms.

You might hear them in a TV show, a movie and the ones that I show you are often used

in business because they there about competition and winning and about money.

So this playlist of American idioms will help you.

I also wrote a book all about 250 most common business English idioms.

These are American idioms that you will hear if you work in a business and the link to

American English Vocabulary Lesson On How To Go From "Very" To More Precise Words - Duration: 4:17.

Hi Guys!

This video will teach you how go from using the word "very" to more precise and higher

level word.

I wrote a love story just using "very" and then I'm going to show you how you can go

to other vocabulary words.

John thought about Jane very often.

His face was very pale.

John loved Jane very much.

He loved her very perfect, very pretty face.

But John was very shy.

It was very painful for him to love Jane and John wanted to tell her, but John was very

scared.

Then one day, John said "Jane, I love you very much, I love you very deeply" and Jane

said "I know".

In that example, the word "very" is used to intensify or amplify words, but let's read

it a different way with a substitute for the "very" word.

And I've listed these below for you.

This will help you go from a basic level of vocabulary to something that's more passionate

and more accurate.

Let's talk about John and Jane again.

"John thought about Jane frequently.

He face was ashen.

John loved Jane intensely.

He loved her flawless, beautiful face.

But John was timid.

It was excruciating to love Jane but John was petrified until one day John said "Jane,

I love you intensely, I love you profoundly" and Jane said, "I know".

So in that example, you can go from using very" to a better word, usually a multi-sllyabic

word that is more precise.

So we say, oh John loved her very much, you can intensely that shows how strongly.

If he thinks someone -Jane - very often its frequently, when we do something frequently.

And he is so nervous, Joh, his face is very pale we could say ashen - like ashes in a

fireplace or from a fire.

They have a particular color of gray / white that describes a face sometimes when we are

nervous or frightened.

Instead of saying very perfect, flawless as if Jane had one of those faces that's balanced

and has nice skin.

And instead of saying very pretty you could use beautiful or stunning or radiant or gorgeous.

So there's many other words to go from very.

If we use very too often in a sentence or paragraph it sounds kind of what a young student

would do, but as adults it's better to have a variety of words to use.

For most people, having a fifteen to twenty thousand words like this will have the vocabulary

to describe the things they see around them.

And if you are John, and you love a women named Jane and you want to say some things

in English to her, well here is your script.

You can see the description below where I've put a number of these words and it ill be

a good start, it will be a very good idea or great idea, a fantastic idea for you to

study these words and increase your vocabulary.

RANT I don't care that BULMA IS PREGNANT in episode 77 of Dragon Ball Super! - Duration: 3:34.

Okay.

I recorded my last video about Dragon Ball super episode 77 and then I had this and then

I decided I still wanted to rant.

Some more.

So let's talk about Bra.

Or Bulla.

Or whatever you want to call the second creature to crawl out of Bulma's womb.

Here's the thing.

I don't care.

I don't give a flying flip.

Good for you Bulma and Vegeta.

You once birthed a character that got all buff and then suicidal cuz he couldn't beat

the strangely attractive Bug Man, aka Cell.

Now you're gonna birth the only half Saiyan chick and, spoiler alert, she doesn't fight,

she just shops and acts as jail bait.

Oh goodie.

Now listen.

I used to dislike Future Trunks, and VegeBul used to be my NOTP.

I thought Trunks was a boring character and more of a plot device than a character anyway.

And as much as I adore Bulma and Vegeta seperately, VegeBul was a crappy spare pairing that was

more abusive than romantic.

Then Dragon Ball Super happened.

And suddenly Trunks made his weakness into strength, and more surprisingly, Vegeta and

Bulma actually had chemistry, and Vegeta seemed to be something other than an abusive child

hitting dead beat?

So now I like the Vegeta/Bulma/Trunks family actually.

So please, Dragon Ball Super, give me a reason to love Bra.

I don't need another annoying little bratty baby like Pan.

I just need a character.

With a personality.

She doesn't even have to fight as long as she's not just a stereotype of the modern

supposed shoppoholic chic a dee.

Although it would be nice if she did fight.

Even if it was just in a situation where it was required rather than recreationally.

The Dragon Ball universe doesn't have enough bad at ladies, and imagine how cool the female

equivalent in strength to a Gohan, Trunks, or Goten could be?

So I don't care that Bulma's pregnant.

Please, please give me a reason to care about what comes out of her.

Oh!

I almost cut this off without saying that you should totes subscribe because you know

deep down inside that you want to hear my inevitable rant about whatever happens next!

And you should like this video so that I know that you, too, want a real, rounded character

rather than a crummy sterotype!

And dislike this video if you want to show me that you prefer characters devoid of personality!

"Are you Smart Enough to Work at Google?" Most people can not answer 3 correctly. All

of these questions are used in interviews by top companies like Microsoft, Google and

Amazon. So good luck! You have been warned.

You get on a ski lift at the bottom of the mountain and take it all the way to

All of them. At the begining you past the chair directly behind you on the cable and just

before you exit you pass the chair directly infront that is now on it way back down the

mountain.

Lets move on, we are starting to get more difficult now.

What is next in this series: SSS, SCC, C, SC?

The Answer: SSSS. This series is actually the alphabet in code. Capital A = SSS becasue

it has 3 Straight lines, B = SCC becasue it has 1 straight line and 2 curves. C = C because

it has 1 curve and D = SC becasue it has 1 curve and 1 straight line. The next one is

SSSS becasue E has 4 straight lines These are getting ticky now.

Here is a series of numbers: What row of numbers comes next?

The answer, 312211. To understand this puzzle you need to say the numbers out loud. The

first line has 11 so the 2nd line becomes double 1. Spoken aloud the 2nd line has 2

ones, so the 3rd line is 21. Spoken aloud the 3rd line has 1 2 and 1 1 which becomes

the 4th line and the final line has 312211 which becomes the answer.

2nd last question now. Your in a car with a helium balloon tied to

the floor. The windows are closed. When you start to accerlate what happens to the balloon?

Does it more forward, backwards to stay still? The answer: Forward. Helium ballons float

becasuse helium is lighter than air. When you accelerate the air is pushed backwards

in the same way that you body is. This means that the ballon will go forward. the opporsite

happens when you break, the ballon will move backwards!

And the last and most difficult question. You are shrunk to the height of coin and thrown

in a empty blender. The blades will start moving in 60 seconds. How do you escape?

The answer: Jump! If you have ever played with rockets you may

know that 2 rockets strapped together do not go higher than a single rocket becasue while

you have doubled the power, you have doubled the weight. By the same principle if you were

shrunk but your power and weight remained in the same proportion then the height you

can jump would remain the same - thus you could jump out.
