Waves and rooooocks
Hello my dear, dear friends.
This is, as usual, Oh My Super Saiyan God, and I just watched the latest episode of Dragon
Ball Super- Episode 77, Let's do it Zen Oh Sama!
The All Universe Martial Arts Tournament!
And since it made my heart pound I decided to rant about it a little!
Okay, so this episode was pretty much all exposition, no action- unless you count Goku
vs King Vegeta with a ponytail and a gun or whatever the heck that thief guy at the start
was supposed to be.
A thief with a yellow bandana.
Makes me think of a certain Persona 5 mascot.
Uh, anyway!
Even being mostly a set up for what's to come this episode still had some utterly thrilling
moments.
Beerus getting fed up with Goku, for example- when he put his hand up my eyes just about
popped out.
Even knowing in the back of my mind that Beerus wouldn't destroy Goku I couldn't help but
lean toward the screen and gasp in shock!
There was some nice commedy too, like Goten scolding Goku for his lack of manners, and
Goku scolding the thieves before realizing he really didn't have a lot of room to talk.
I also laughed quite a bit at both Goku and Whis's reactions to Vegeta and Bulma's upcoming
birth!
The new opening fell flat for me though.
While I liked that the animation heavily featured some of the non-saiyan fighters, like my man
Tien, the song was, well, you know how if you drink craft beer and follow it with a
bud light the bud light tastes even more disappointing than usual?
This song is the bud light.
It also seemed to me that there was like, no backgrounds in the animation.
Just characters.
Fighting.
And with how richly detailed the first opening animation was this really just seems... meh.
Of course, I prefered the original Dragon Ball Z opening as well- Cha La Head Cha La
will always beat out We Gotta Power, even though the Buu Saga is my favorite part of
DBZ.
Did the original Dragon Ball ever have an opening other than Makafushigi Adventure?
If it did I can't remember it, but it would be pretty dificult to beat out Makafushigi
Adventure.
The only thing better is the awkward English opening.
Ok I'm getting off topic here, back to Dragon Ball super.
I honestly loved the last few episodes, getting to see characters like Krillin, Gohan, Yamcha
and Hit take the spotlight was some fantastic fanservice.
I even got to see my beloved former villains in the Super art style last week, and if you
remember how excited I was to see King Piccolo and Piano a few weeks ago, then you can imagine
the unholy fangirl squeals I made seeing Tambourine!
And Dabura!
I just mentioned the Buu Saga is my fave part of Z right?
Babidi and Dabura's cameo earlier in the future Trunks arc made me so happy, and I was glad
to see my second favorite member of team Majin back in action, sorta, last week!
Still, as great as the series of one or two episode long mini story arcs was, I'm beyond
stoked to get back to the real meat of the main story.
This tournament promises lots of oportunities for gorgeous and over the top new battles,
interesting new characters, and the return of my universe six faves Hitto, Cabbage, and
Frost bite!
Or something like that.
And Sisly!
Aka female Broly!
Oh gawd I hope they named her Sisly, I will laugh my butt off.
Can't wait to meet her!
I just want a tough buff chick who has more personality than a few blank stares and shouts
of KAKAROT, if she gives me that I will be crying tears of joy.
Anyway!
You better belive I'm counting the hours until the next episode.
This new story arc is gonna be LIT.
Am I a Dragon Ball youtuber yet?
Saying things will be lit?
That just seems like something they all say.
Anyway, YES.
Can't wait!
Thanks for watching, make sure to hit the like button if you are also excited for the
new tournament, and the dislike button if you'd prefer a story arc where everyone stays
on earth and soils their pants!
I regret saying that!
And please subscribe so that I can be happy?
Subscribers make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
If you're subscribed to me please know that you are the Whis to my Beerus, the Gohan to
my Videl, and the Tien to my Chiaotzu.
Or something.
I should shut up now.
