Waching daily Jun 1 2018

if you are not using any of these Shopify apps you are missing out on thousands what's

going on guys it's your boy the beast of Ecom back with

another video dropping nothing but value bombs if this is the first time ever

watching one of my videos hello and welcome if you are old

subscriber hello to you too please do like comment smash that

subscribe button hit the notification bow if you get some value from this

video you do not want to miss any of the upcoming videos that I've got to put out

now in today's video I'm gonna be talking about apps okay and the best

apps to have on your store a lot of people keep asking me you know what are

the best apps to have you know which one should I use which are the money making

apps so I'm gonna show you today the apps that I'm using a top five that I

use on my Shopify store which is generating me thousands if you are not using any of

these apps which I mention in this video okay you are leaving so much money on

the table it is unreal apps basically do one of

two things they even make your life a little bit easier in terms of

fulfillment and stuff like that or alternatively they help you make money

some apps can be the difference between having a profitable store and a non

profitable store or if you are breaking even you know some apps can help you

then turn an even store into a profitable store now the last app is a

little bit of a bonus app and not many people are using it but I'm gonna

explain why this app is super important and what it can actually do to you

conversion rate and helping you make more money so make sure you stay to the

end absorb all of the content and make sure you get to learn what these apps

are especially the last one let's quit the talking and let's jump right into

the video okay so let's jump into this video about

these money making apps okay first thing I want to mention is of course is that I

have no affiliation whatsoever with these apps okay I don't get paid any

money at all for mention on in this video okay these are apps that are

purely working for myself and generating me a lot of

and have generated me a lot of money so I just want to get that clear as a

little bit of a disclaimer before we jump into things the first app that you

need to have on your website okay on your Shopify store is an email

marketing app okay now there's two main ones that are out there

MailChimp of course and klaviyo email marketing now there's pros and

cons of each of them a lot of people who argue to the death of which one's

actually better I personally use MailChimp I've just kind of rolled with

it ever since installing it but I feel that MailChimp for myself just works a

little bit better I have dabbled before with klaviyo but

I've not got it on any of my stores at the moment in time but it's super

important that you've got an email marketing you know app installed on your

website reason being is because their money that you make okay is gonna be on

the back end you can always generate if you're having slow months okay if you

have if you've got new products that you want to launch out and test and stuff

like that you can launch it to your email list I've got a previous video

that I've put out on how I generate close to eighteen hundred dollars in one

week with zero I'd spend okay and that's all just doing through email marketing

so MailChimp is what I use again what it allows you to do is collect emails okay

so when people are going on your website you know and check it out you can

collect their email okay again with abandon carts as well and stuff like

that you're gonna collect their email so you can always you know push new

products okay out to your email list first and generate money on the back end

okay if you have miss lemons or you just want to add additional revenue to your

stores over a yearly basis okay email marketing an email marketing app

is what you need is super crucial that you're doing email marketing if you

aren't you are leaving so much money on the table

it is unreal so MailChimp is one that I like to use I've got some automation on

there as well and may bring out a video on automation simply set these

automation flows up again you can do the exact same thing with clay vo set email

automations up they run on autopilots just bringing you in money

over and over and over again every time someone purchases from your store you

know post-up sells and all those sorts of things through email so make sure

you've got a an email marketing app on your store I use MailChimp you can use

klaviyo both of them are fantastic okay but make sure you've got that on your

store now the second one is going to be abandoned cart protector plus is what

I've used this app alone has generated me so much money

especially unreal okay the ROI on this app for me personally is just crazy

it's eight dollars per month I want to what I want to quickly break to say is

that most of these will have a free trial okay this one's got a free trial

for 21 days MailChimp is goes by your pricing of how many emails you've got

and klaviyo is again I think it goes by your your contest that you've got but a

lot of these apps okay all have a free trial so get them on you can try them

for seven days 21 days whatever it may be see how they act on your store and

obviously you can purchase or completely cancel with no charge whatsoever but

this app alone okay is generating me so much money

what it basically does is when someone comes to your website and does not

complete their purchase you got to remember around about you know 70% of

people won't actually buy the first time round they'll go to your website and

they'll abandon car now you want to make sure that you are still getting those

people sales whether it be through retargeting or retargeting through email

now abandoned car protects a plus is one app that I'll use you can set up a three

email sequence I'll do an email I'll do a video on this but basically I set the

first one to like five the first 10 minutes I think it is within the first

10 minutes to say hey you've got forgot this in your car jump back in and

complete your order then another one in about four hours time no I think it's

about six hours time and then I do another one in about 16 hours time or so

so that you know they get a bunch of emails in a

of time keep telling them to purchase that product because if they've shown

intent to buy and actually put that stuff in the in a check out and issue

out check out their details and stuff like that they're very much on the edge

and there is a number of reasons why people don't complete their order due to

you know shipping or just being busy or you know Wi-Fi doubt whatever it may be

but you want to make sure that you are getting those customers okay and this

app alone you know it's brought in so much money on the table if I didn't have

this on my store okay I would have left so much money on table it's absolutely

unreal but this is a fantastic apps you have an a.1 that I do actually recommend

so as you can see it will show you all their orders the price of the actual

order what email they're at so first email first email stuff like that and

which actually have take how many have abandoned how many have recovered and

stuff like that so fantastic app to use and one that I 100% recommend to get on

your stores okay the next one is an upsell app now

everyone needs to have an upsell app okay on their store now some of them are

a bit intrusive I was previously before kind of ante up sell apps but with

obviously CPMs and it getting more expensive to advertise you need to be

using upsell apps reason being is of course if you're paying for the same

amount of traffic but the costs are going up to advertise you want to make

sure that you are squeezing as much money as possible out of every single

person who lands on your store and product page okay one way to do that of

course is upsell now what is an upsell on upside is basically selling someone

something that is related to the product that they're initially viewing okay so

an example for this let's say for example someone is buying a pair of

gloves a winter gloves okay you can upsell them to a winter hat I will he

hat or something like that that is an upsell there's cross sales again so say

say for exam you buy someone's buying a pair of

trainers you can cross out with a pair of laces

okay different kind of paradises and stuff like that so this one here is what

I use I've been testing out quite recently discounted upsell and

cross-sell app basically it's got a 7 day free trial as well so definitely you

worth putting in and even so it's not expensive at all it's based on the

Shopify plan that you're actually on ok now what you can do is obviously do

discounted at discounted upsells it's very clean ok a reason why I like this

app is because it's super clean it's not intrusive but you know again is still

something that works and you can discount a product let's say for example

go back to hats ok and the gloves let's say for example someone is buying gloves

you can say get this hat for 50% off today only and it will just pop up like

this gives people more of a reason to add the hat ok no one wants a cold head

if they've got warm hands ok so fantastic a little bit of an app that

too that you can use again it's got Bob and get more free by to get 50% off and

you can really get really creative ok with the upsells and cross-sells and

down cells that you use with this app so so yeah make sure that you've got an

upsell app on your store test one even if you you've got one and they don't

look great on your this one doesn't look great on your theme ok you gotta

remember not every single app is gonna look great on your theme so there's

loads of different ones that are out there you know but get one that works

with your theme because there's going to be a trade-off ok there's going to be

average order value okay which is a RV which we like to call it increasing that

that's what the main point of having one of these on your store is increasing

your AOV average order value but there's going to be a trade-off in conversion

rate okay and what you need to monitor those two things how much can you raise

your average order value to seeing how much of a conversion rate is it decrease

in a cake because some people will be naturally put off with you know

pop-ups of across cell UPS hours and stuff like that so you have to monitor

those two things and see how it's how it's reacting so moving on is horrified

okay I super like this I like this app a lot of people use this app back in the

day with the with the countdown timer I don't use the countdown timer version

only because it's a little bit tacky now a little bit off-putting a little bit

faking you know people can kind of tell nowadays that countdown time and they're

a little bit gimmicky and stuff so I don't use it in that sense what I like

to use horrify for is the way of how many stock is left so you can say you

know only two left in stock and you know that the little bar and stuff like that

Amazon do it you know a lot of places do you do it in terms of how many are in

stock and just bring about that urgency and how can improve your conversion rate

so horrifying is a fantastic one they've recently updated it I think earlier this

year whereby they've got now a countdown timer on you checkout page so a bit like

a DDoS do it when I used to buy Yeezys and stuff like that and when you used to

add the product to you car and go to unit up checkout that would be a

countdown timer saying it's been reserved for eight minutes or five

minutes or whatever it may be so that you actually complete your order quickly

because you don't want to miss out and horrify actually has that feature as

well so they recently put onto it it's worked fantastic for myself in terms of

improving conversion rate so one app that I definitely recommend now the

final one and bonus one is this app here so if everyone who stayed to the end

congratulations its lucky orange now not a lot of people

talk about look your ins in terms of money making app but this app is so

powerful okay when you understand how it works basically what it is is an app

that allows you to see the reasons why people don't convert now this is

invaluable what you can do is it records people coming to your website okay it

records they're actually their whole approach

so when they land on it where they scroll to what they clicked you know

when they exit all those sorts of things and shows you you know what they were

actions they took so allowing you to actually you know pre into what customer

is doing on your website is super invaluable it helps you then notice what

things aren't working but what things are working ok so a very fantastic app

to have again it's got a seven day trial 7 day free trial install it on your

website look at your recordings and it also has a heat map feature as well

so heat maps so you can have a look and see where people are clicking on your

website if loads of people are clicking on your about us and stuff like that or

your shipping policies and reviews and stuff like that you know you need to

bolster up that Park because people are clicking there you know if they're

clicking all over the place and buttons aren't working again stuff like that you

want to make sure that you are fixing those ASAP so that you can then convert

those people convert more people that are landing on your page into those

buyers ok so any as you can see here visitor recordings you can actually see

people who were purchasing people who got on your website added it to their

car went to kind of you know fill out their initiate check out but never

complete it stuff like that so a super super invaluable app to have and yeah

install it even if it's just for 7 days you know and see what your customers

actually doing because you'll be surprised where people are falling off

and where people are actually clicking most of the time it's not where you

actually think okay and once you know where people to click in and stuff like

that make those changes and improve your conversion rate so that is it for these

sorts of apps again all of them are fantastic again no affiliation

whatsoever with any of these these apps are ones that I personally use on my own

stores okay that have been pretty much invaluable to myself in helping me make

more money on my stores as usual I hope you got some value from this

any money from you know making this video at all from these companies these

Ask Karl: What do you classify as an ideal business coaching client? - Duration: 6:02.

Hey party peeps Karl Bryan here coming at you for another edition of Ask Karl

Bryan I'm here in my garage you're gonna see my

my lawn mooer there like a good hubby and good husband so I've got a question

here it's from Bella. Bella is asking Karl what do you classify as an ideal

business coaching client? Okay and quote alright Bella so I'm thinking that

Bella's looking for an answer of dentist chiropractor that sort of thing I'm

gonna go about this a little bit differently what I'm looking for is

number one right psychology okay if you give me somebody who's hungry

I'll show you somebody who I can have a long-standing coach client relationship

with so how do i ascertain the right psychology if I open up the local

newspaper and I see that they're advertising I know that they're trying

to grow their business and they've written a check in order to do so taking

a little bit of a gamble that's somebody who's hungry to me if I run a live event

and you've taken the time to show up and you've gotten up early and you fought

traffic and you got the kids you know just to you know the the breakfast table

a little bit early and you show up I know that you jump through some hoops

that tells me that you're hungry that tells me you're gonna be a great

coaching client so it's stuff like that so I'm looking for somebody who's hungry

what's the difference between a Serena Williams and then the rest of the gals

on the tennis tour it's hunger difference between Roger Federer Wayne

Gretzky Michael Jordan LeBron James you name it basically it's psychology so

that's what I'm looking for probably first and foremost I'm also looking for

a high unit of sale again I dub said this many times before I'll continue to

say it if you're taking on coaching clients you want to be able to get them

three or four close deals per year and well and truly pay your way versus

somebody who's just charging a hundred dollars that's not an ideal scenario

because they know there's a good chance they're gonna cancel not because they

want to not because they need to or not because they don't getting the value

it's just that they need to they're not making enough money and then I also like

to see people that have joined membership groups like the Chamber B and

I I said earlier somebody who's advertised if you can catch them early

on like if you watch the chamber listings or more to the point you build

a relationship with the girls or the guy that sells the memberships at the

chamber you're gonna find that's gonna be a great waiting a coaching client is

to get them at the point or early on when they join because this is when

they're of the mindset I got to do something different I got to start

getting to know some more people I got to be putting my business out there I

need some more referrals that sort of thing so if you get them early in that

relationship that can be very very valuable build some relationships in and

around that and now I just put another little star at the bottom of that

another thing that I will classify is an ideal coaching client

I like clients that I can get started in the industry okay like guys I'm my

Nicias business coaches okay that's something that I've been very you know

I've been honored to have been very successful with it I've got some

expertise or certainly like don't think so maybe somebody might argue with that

but I've got some expertise and then around it fell to five and a half

million dollar coaching company where we used to do four hundred thousand dollars

a month so it puts me in a position right where I have some expertise and

some value to give well and truly at least again I hope so but I love the

idea of business coaching because I can take a sales guy or a corporate guy or

gal off the street out of their corporate job and turn them into a

business coach within 90 days I can have a you know on

you know on course too well and truly do six figures without doubt as can so

that's one of the other things I like to think about so that's what I would say

so high unit of sale again you want somebody doing high-end kitchen

renovations rather than a massage therapist charging a hundred dollars the

guy doing the high-end kitchen renovations is charging you know twenty

to two hundred thousand dollars you get him a few coaching clients you pay your

way well and truly again somebody has come in to live events advertising

joining groups they're good if you open up the local newspaper and you see

somebody there good idea that they're looking to grow

their business and again if you can get them started in an industry like against

someone who's really handy you can help them get started in a business doing

kitchen remodeling ok so so that's what I would call an ideal call coaching

client for me this isn't black and white stuff it's very much grey but I hope

that is handy and Belle I hope that is a value so guys if you liked the video I

would SuperDuper appreciate it hit the like button if you know a coach that

needs this information you can comment with their name below super appreciate

that you want to give us some comments and you tell us that you liked the video

maybe you can tell me that you hate the video but if you give us a comment down

below that would be pretty cool and of course if you would share it that would

be fabulous because if you don't have your

subscription of a six-figure coach magazine make sure you do that

ace up grab that and also at the Six-Figure Coach magazine I've got some

coaches training totally free of charge all video-based you can do it in your

pajamas I've also got that free of charge so grab that as well so thanks so

much for being here thanks for the question Bella and I look forward to

speaking to you guys next time on ask Karl Bryan

PPM | Project and Program Management - Duration: 5:45.

In this video, we'll take a look at the Project Management application.

Linked time codes for these topics appear in the YouTube description for this video.

With the ServiceNow Project Management application you can create, view, and manage all of your projects, regardless of size or complexity.

In a sense, some might say the Project Management app is inherently a risk management tool.

It helps ensure that you'll complete the project on time and on budget...

... while delivering the expected outcomes for the business.

Each project flows through a set of project management industry accepted phases during its lifecycle:

Initiate, Plan, Execute, Deliver, and Close.

As with much in ServiceNow, these phases are configurable and can be adjusted to fit your PPM governance processes.

Your company should have a reliable governance model in place that defines when projects will advance into and out of each phase...

... who the approvers will be, and if gating conditions are required to enter or exit a phase.

Let's take a look at the app.

The Project Workspace allows project managers to define, plan, track and monitor all projects from a single user friendly, unified work space.

Let's start by opening a Project that was recently approved: Upgrade App Z.

Enter "Project Workspace" in the navigator.

You'll first see a summary dashboard containing widgets and reports.

The Project Workspace is filterable.

Therefore, you can create your own customized work space that meets your individual way of working.

This information is rolled up from the form fields within the individual projects...

... and serves as a snap shot of relevant information for this specific project.

When you're ready to manage the supporting structure of the project...

... the project console details tab is where you edit and add information.

Let's begin by applying a template.

The project template feature gives you a simple way to create, save, and reuse work breakdown structures.

You have four options to use and manage project templates.

Option one: Choose from project templates included with the Project Management application.

Option two: Create a new project template by adding project tasks and then save the project as a new template that can be applied to future projects.

Option three: Import a project using the import feature...

... update the project and then save as a new Project Template to the existing collection.

And option four: You can also manage a project without any project tasks, and track your progress manually.

Templates are a good idea for schedule structure and reporting consistency...

... so let's apply the PMO Approved template.

In the planning console, we can see what tasks were created from the applied template...

... as well as project task dependencies.

You can build out your project further by adding additional tasks, arranging by priority, and assigning them to a person.

A baseline is a snapshot of the current planned start and planned end dates.

You can visually compare if task dates have shifted by using baselines.

To create a beginning baseline, click the more actions icon and then select "Create new baseline."

The baseline appears in the Gantt chart and you can see a variance between a baseline and the current schedule.

When setting up a project, define it as Waterfall, Agile, or a hybrid of these methodologies.

Define your project as Waterfall if it'll use traditional cascade methodology.

Define it as Agile if it'll use pure Agile methodology.

And define it as Hybrid if it'll include a mix.

Other areas you'll need to complete are cost and benefit plans.

These are used for building forecasts, controlling project budgets, and supporting project financial reporting.

Other videos in this series discuss finances.

After you've built out a project, there are two additional ways to view the project in the Project Workspace:

Tracking and Status Report.

The tracking console displays an overview timeline of the project and tasks, by phase.

Using view type, you can switch between list view and the virtual task board.

The status report console shows recent progress of a project from several categories...

... such as costs, schedule and milestones, risks, issues, changes, and history from previous status reports.

These calculations and values within the project are child properties that roll up to the applicable program and portfolio parent values.

You can easily track and map several projects at once, using program portfolio.

By starting each project with a well-defined work structure...

... and giving managers critical visibility and control from start to finish...

... the Project Management application ensures successful project execution.

Also, key stakeholders will see data reflecting project progress in a timely manner.

As we have heard before, "Fail to plan, plan to fail."

Using the ServiceNow PPM application, you'll have a path to successful projects, programs and portfolios.

For more information, please consult our product documentation, knowledge base, or podcast.

Or ask a question in the ServiceNow Community.

What Keeps You Up at Night? - Duration: 2:35.

[music playing]

Oh, man, something that keeps me up at night.

The only thing that really keeps me up at night

is whenever I have a race coming up,

and I'm really, really nervous.

And I don't really know who I'm racing against,

and I get really nervous, and it's just,

that's like the one thing that really ever keeps me up

at night.

Being a woman in the entertainment business

is definitely an obstacle that I have to face.

And so, not only does it keep me up

because of myself and all the worries

that I have because of that.

But young girls coming up in this business, that's

something that keeps me up at night.

I think about it all the time.

I want them to come into this world with more opportunity

than I did.

The thing that keeps me up at night

is knowing that there are girls everywhere

who don't feel comfortable in their own skin

and don't feel like anyone else is out there

because there are so many girls that

feel that way that can connect on that and relate to that.

And I hope that they know that they're not alone.

Homelessness and climate change because it's

becoming a more and more big and relevant issue.

And it's something that needs to be tackled now.

The thing that keeps me up at night

is my own anxiety, my own fear.

I always tell people, success doesn't take away

mental illness.

I still live with anxiety daily.

It's something I still have to fight.

It's going to be my ongoing journey

for the rest of my life-- is dealing

with my own mental health.

And so if there's anything that keeps me up at night,

it's my own mental health.

Something that keeps me up at night

is watching other people not reach their full potential.

There are so many things, but the thing

that really keeps me up at night is,

I've had the opportunity as a part of what

I do with LabCandy, to travel a lot

and see a lot of this country and meet a lot of really

motivated bright young girls.

And what keeps me up at night is seeing those girls

and seeing that they are unaware of the opportunities in front

of them, right?

Like whoever you are, wherever you are watching this,

you have the opportunity to go anywhere,

to do anything that you want to.

Sometimes so much of success is just

knowing how to work the system.

I am a sucker for babies.

I love babies.

I love kids.

We have two adopted siblings.

And so sometimes I'll just stay up at night

and think about how sad I am that there are so many kids

all around the world who don't have a loving home and a loving

family, and they don't have what they need to have a good life.

And that makes me sad.

And now this is sad.

TOP 10 ESSENTIAL TOOLS THAT YOU MUST HAVE IN YOUR HOME - Duration: 7:32.

Hi, welcome to What Your Parents Should Have Taught You; the show where I teach you what

your parents should have taught you, but may not have. I'm your host

c̳̰̆o͈̟ͦ̆̉̂r̛͔͙̗͇ͭ̈ͬ̀r͍̼̤̳̫͙͓̼͗̈́̆̕͞͞ǘ̟͈̹̗̇́̾̑̊͌p̛̩̑ͭ̋͆̕͠t̻̗̟͉̮̜͇̺͉͆ͮ̀̚ȩͮͦ̓̇̈́́͏̭̙͓͉̺d̴̸̞̗̟̪͔͙͌͒͗̐̇͡ͅ ̷̶͇̤̫͔̳̱̂̉ͯ͢

Today we're going to be going over all the really important tools that it's nice to have

lying around the house for when you need them. The alternate, click-baity title for this

video is TOP 10 ESSENTIAL TOOLS THAT YOU MUST HAVE IN YOUR HOME, but there probably won't

actually even be 10, so... Let's go. NUMBER ONE

The first tool that you're probably gonna want to get is a multi-bit screwdriver. It's

basically like a regular screwdriver, except you can change the screwy part, also known

as a bit, to match whatever it is that you're screwing. This keeps you from having to buy

10 different screwdrivers, 8 of which you'll probably lose, right before you need them.

And besides, buying one of these is probably cheaper than buying the individual screwdrivers

anyway. The only problem is that this only came with 5 bits, and none of them match

my Ikea furnitureeeeee! NUMBER TWO!

The great thing about buying a multi-bit screwdriver is that you can buy a whole box of bits for

them so you can basically work on anything. And, since the bits are pretty much standard,

you can even put them in a drill, if you ever find yourself needing one of those.

This particular box o' bits only cost about $10, so there's really no reason not to get one, unless everything

you own or plan to own only uses a phillips or flathead screw.

NUMBER THREE! Okay, so we have screwing down, but what if

we need to smash? For that, you're going to need a hammer. Now, these things are really

handy, from hanging a calendar on the wall, to putting together aforementioned Ikea or

Walmart furniture, and you never really know how much you need one until you're desperately

looking around the house for something hard enough to bang a nail into a wall. And given

how inexpensive these things are, it's better to just buy one now and have it for all those

random times that you need one.

NUMBER FOUR

Still on the topic of things you can get at

[insert local tool shop here], you may find yourself needing a wrench if you

don't already have one. Whether you drop your earring down the sink,

or your toilet has sprung a leak, wrenches come in handy when you're dealing with anything that has

to do with plumbing, or just taking things apart and putting them together. And if you

get one of these adjustable wrenches, you don't have to buy a whole set of them! There's

no need to have a wall full of wrenches when just one or two of these will cover you for

99% of times you'll need one. NUMBER I'VE LOST COUNT!

Okay, I am too gay to talk about tools for this long, so let's move on to things you

might need to clean your house. The first thing you're gonna need is a bucket. Now, we'll

get into all the uses for one of these in the cleaning episodes, but for now, just imagine

this: Say you need to wipe something down with soap and water. Would you rather carry

a rag from the sink, dripping water everywhere, or just have a bucket with all the water you

need right next to you? That's what I thought. Speaking of rags…

NUMBER RAGS AND SPONGES! You might be thinking "wow, all these projects

that I'm going to be doing with my new tools might get my house very dusty" and you're

very, very right. Also, just being a human being with disgusting skin gets your house

dusty. That's where these wonderful things come in. You can use sponges and rags for

so many things. Dusting, obviously... Doing the dishes. Cleaning the bathroom... Not with

the same ones of course. But I mean, you can buy them in packs of 50 on Amazon, I'm sure

you'll have enough. That way you won't have to worry about which t-shirt to sacrifice

the next time that you spill something on the ground.

NUMBER 7! Alright, so

[Electricity crackle] Oh...

Uh... Okay.

No matter where you live, sometimes the power is just going to go out. And you're going

to want to have a light source ready for when that happens. But flashlights aren't just

useful in emergencies... Maybe you just dropped something into a dark place in your house,

or you need to look under the hood of your car, or it's night, and you want a drink from

the kitchen, and you have wifi light bulbs and Google won't listen to you.

Hey Google, turn the lights on. Hey Google!

[sigh]

[sound of someone smacking their foot on a wall] FU--!

NUMBER EIGHT!

Lighters can be really useful if you ever

just need to set something on fire. Like candles! Or an oil lamp! Or your neighbors! This isn't

necessarily a necessity... It will be if you live somewhere that has a high occurrence

of natural disasters, but they're just good to have in your drawer, where you keep everything

for a rainy day. It doesn't have to be a lighter, it could be matches; just anything you could

use to start a fire when you need it. Number nine!

Speaking of that junk drawer, let's talk about something you're going to want to

have in it at all times - Command Strips. Now, just as a note, I'm not sponsored, you

can buy the generic versions of these if you like. I don't care.

It's very likely that when you're living on your own for the first time, you're going

to be living in a place that you don't own, like an apartment, or a dorm, or under a bridge.

Oftentimes places like this don't really like it when you put holes in the walls, and

a great alternative to that is command strips. They make ones that can hold things from

strings of lights to heavy picture frames, and they come off the wall without leaving

any sort of residue. Really great stuff. Speaking of hanging things…

If you're hanging a poster or a picture, you're probably going to want to make sure

that it's not as crooked as the current white house administration.

A level can be really useful if you plan on doing a lot of construction or just home decorating.

Now, I hear you saying "why do I need to buy a level, I just have one on my phone?"

And that counts! Just make sure that, you know, if you're hanging something up on the

wall, you don't drop your phone and break it. That's why I kind of recommend just getting

one of the cheap plastic ones that you can use and not worry about if it falls off of

the picture frame. So now that you've got a level, a hammer, and

screwdriver, you're probably itching to finish your Bob the Builder cosplay. Well

for that, you're going to want a tape measure. Not only will it go stunningly with your reflective

vest and dog, but it's going to be a godsend when you need to measure your room to see

if a piece of furniture is gonna fit, or if you're trying to measure your window to see if the

new curtains that you bought are the right size. They're not, you're going back to the

store. Tape measures can also be really useful if you're trying to give someone a sense

of scale in a picture.

Ţ̫̘͍̰̥̤͈̟̞͈̠͒͗ͬ͆͂̒͝I̴̷͓̞̳̦̺͕̯̪͔͉͓̰ͬ͆ͦ̔́M̹͖̜̗̞̥̞̱͇̩͙̎ͧͬ̃̋ͩ͗̐̍ͯͯ̑̀͊̀̚͠ͅE̴͚͓̹̬̘͖̣̝̤͎̝̝̫̘̳̽̽̈́ͤ͂ͫͪͭ̊̕͞ͅ ̵̛̗̗̳̖̤͈̝̯͈̫̗̄̋ͧͨ̎ͩ̋̃̅͘͟Ş̾̎̒ͪͮ́͒҉̥͕̺̩̤͙͙͍̦T̨̛̼̦͖̙̘̲̳̺͙͖̲̱͉͍̫̻ͧ̓̏͌͛̆͊̂̆̎̏͑̾̀͘͠Ṟ̵̢͓̻̦̲̝̠̩̒̄͛̌͗̑̏ͩ̆̐̆͒Ę̨̨̢̘͎͕̟̹̤̬̝͎̝͇̻̫̰̦̳̲̮̉ͬ͐̍́̆̚͞ͅA̵̧͖̯͇̙̟͈̥͉̰͉̼͖͖̜̤̰͚͈̔̉ͥ͒͌̂̽̈͐M̙̫͎̙̫̬͖͍͎̻̱̩͖̜̓ͫͬͣ̃̈̊ͥ̆̍ͩ̈ͯ̓̂̀̚͢͢͢ͅ ͦ̇ͫͭͦͦ̋̋ͥͭ̀̀͂ͪͮ̚͠҉̵̧̞̘̞͖O̢̭̥͎̠̬̥͉̰̙͖̯̝ͣ͆̐ͧ̈̑̋̂̃͆̂̌ͨͬ̀͝Ủͧ̋̽̃̋ͯ͆͆͋̒̑̏̚҉̨̡̙̖̙̲͙̰̮̥̟͓̫͜ͅT̶̢̢̯̖̱͙̖̘̫̲͎͖̼̲͍̬͖̬͎̺̓ͦ̉̄̑͋̂͊͆̄̄̃̈́̏̚ͅ ̥̖͖̗̥͓̥̲̯̠͍͓̐̀̇ͭ̏͂ͭ̐̀͟O̢̬͉̤̩͔̱̺̫̰͆͗͑̅ͪ̂̇͌̈́̐ͫͩͭ̅̃̊ͤ́ͅF̶̧̘̪͔͓͉͔̟͇͇̌ͮ̄ͫ̊́ͩ̊̽̒ͦ̇͑̇̔͑̀͜͟ͅ ̶̶̗̞͚̤̟̘̮̣̟͍̘̖̮̽ͨ̎ͤͦ̿́̂̽̏͂̉͘O̓̋̅̋̋̐̈́̃ͧ̒́̄̈̓̔ͫ̿ͩ͏̧͉̬̱̼̮͚͙̭͔̞͕͕̖͙̹͙͇̘̘̀͡R̡̮͔͔̝̗̙̭̬͇͍̿̍̇ͦ̓ͣ̔ͮ̔͐̀́ͅḐ̵̴̲̩̣̝̻͚̦̮͎̙̼̣͎̜͉̉ͥͣ̔ͯ̈́̚͞͝E͉͈̗̲̜̫ͭͨͨͬͨͯͩͮ̿̌̀́̚͡ͅR̷̮̞͓̥̩͈̳ͨ̽̓̌̐͆̒ͤ̃̌́ͬ̂ͯͩͭ͋̈́͗͞

So, after all this, there's just one morething that you're gonna need: TO SUBSCRI-

something sticky. Whether that's scotch

tape, electrical tape, duct tape, hot glue, super glue, duct tape, duct tape, DUCT TAPE,

having something like that is essential for small repairs. And also if someone's being

really annoying, you can just put tape over their mouth and shut them up.

8 words that are hard to pronounce in English - Duration: 9:26.

Hi everyone. I'm Vicki and I'm British. And I'm Jay and I'm American.

And we're back with eight more words that are to pronounce in English.

We asked some English learners to pronounce some tricky words for us.

We're going to see how they say them and then we'll show you how Vicki and I say

them. Sio in British and American English. Ready?

First word… Fif.

Feeth. Fifth, fife, feeth.

Fit. Fit? I don't know. Ha! That was a hard one to start with.

Yes, it's tricky because you have to move from f to th. With f your top teeth are touching

your bottom lip. f. f . f. f.

But with th you have to bring your tongue forward. It touches your teeth. th. th.

th. Fifth. Fifth. You have to move your tongue forward very quickly.

Yeah. Fifth.

Fifth. Try saying it with our learners.

Fifth. Fifth. Fifth. Fifth. OK. What's next?

Let's see. Basically. Basically. Ba...Basically.

Nearly! But how many syllables does this word have?

I say bay-sic-ally – three syllables. Me too.

Basically. Basically. Basically. Basically. Basically.

That's it! Yes! They did well. Say it with us.

Basically. Basically.

Great, what's next? The next word comes from Greek.

Caow. Shoaos. Cawoh. Sh... Showos. Sh... Showos. Oooo. No, no, no. It starts with a k sound

and we pronounce the s at the end. Chaos. Chaos.

Chaos. Chaos means in a mess. When there's chaos,

nothing is organized. Yes, everything is confused and nothing is

in order. It's like when you've been cooking. The

kitchen is in chaos. What do you mean?

It takes me ages to clean up. Say it with us.

The kitchen's in chaos. The kitchen's in chaos when Vicki's been cooking.

OK, what's next? Let's try a long one.

Oh. Re... Refri... No, I don't... Refri... No.

Ha! OK, here's a trick. When it's a long word, sometimes it's easier to start at

the back and work forward. It's called backchaining. Try it with me.

-tor -rator

-erator -FRIGerator

reFRIGerator Could you say it?

Try it with our learners. Refrigerator. Refrigerator. Refrigerator.

You know we say this word a little differently. Yeah. Your r sounds are stronger than mine.

It's a British and American difference. Refrigerator.

Refrigerator. But I have a different way to say this word

that's much easier. What's that?

In British English we usually just say fridge. Fridge.

Fridge? Yeah, we say fridge. It means the same thing.

Don't listen to her. It's a refrigerator. OK, here's a useful word.

Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday. They're pretty good.

Yes. Now, I can say this word in two ways. Tuesday and 'Tuesdii'.

Ah, me too. Tuesday and 'Tuesdii'.

Tuesday and 'Tuesdii'. But there's a slight difference in how we

say the first syllable. See if you can hear it.

Tuesday. Tuesday.

You say too and I say tyoo. Did you hear the difference? In British English there's a

little j sound. 'Tjuesday'. That's weird.

Tuesday. Tuesday.

So you can 'chjoose' how you say it. Try it with our learners.

Tuesday. Erm, Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday. OK, next one.

Yes. This one's really hard. Owry. Ayree. Ahree.

Oh no! They were all wrong! The pronunciation is awry. What does awry

mean Vicki? If something goes awry, then it doesn't

go in the way that was planned. So if we plan to have a party on our deck

but then it rains, our plans go awry. That's right.

Awry. Awry.

We had to help our learners with that one. Oree...

Awry. Awry? OK.

Oree? Oree? Awry.

Awry. All right. OK, what's next?

Let's see. Photo-graphy. Photo-graphy. Photo-graphy.

Ah, not quite! It's tricky because there's a PHOTograph

– that's the picture, and then there's the activity of taking photographs and that's

phoTOgraphy. Yes, the word stress shifts.

Photograph. Photography. Photograph. Photography.

So in photography you've got to stress TOG. Photography.

Say it with our learners. Photography. Photography.

OK, let's have the last one. This word's very common.

Hate. Hate? Height. Hate. Height. So is it hate or is it height?

It's height. So how tall or high off the ground something is.

Hate is a different word. Like I hate going to the dentist.

Me too. But here's how we say height. Height.

Height. It's confusing because of the spelling.

Because with the number eight we say eight. Yes, and there's also weight, so how heavy

something is. Weight. But the vowel sound is different in height.

Eight, weight, height. Eight, weight, height.

English spelling is really confusing. Yes. Say height with our learners.

Height. Height. Height. Height. Yeah! If you want to see some more words that are

hard to pronounce, we've made some other videos.

Yes. I'll put a link here. And let us know in the comments what words

you find hard to pronounce in English and perhaps we can make another video about them

too. See you all next week everyone!

Bye. Bye-bye.

We'd like to say a big thank you to all the English learners who helped us make this video.

They were terrific and such good fun.

How Healthy Are You? - Duration: 1:34.

Our team goes to different areas - anywhere that Duke employees

have requested that we be there to provide them with an opportunity to get

information about their health risks and assess about where they're at in

terms of what their health habits are. I just like keeping track of everything.

That's why I wear my Fitbit. I .. so I always test my cholesterol when I can

when that service is provided, and I was really grateful that they offered that

here at Duke too. I think it's something that's offered to everyone and so it's

just a good checkup to come to make sure ... in between your

regular doctor visits to make sure things are in line and look good. We

measure cholesterol, total cholesterol. We measure glucose. We measure their blood

pressure. We take their height and weight and calculate their BMI and then we have

them answer a full questionnaire that has them reflect upon their health

habits. You can try as hard as you can as an individual to improve your health but

having your employer care about those things and provide these services where

you can find out these numbers ...it gives you a baseline to improve from

like where am I at, where can I go, and to have an employer care about that, that

really means a lot.

PPM | Resource Management - Duration: 3:53.

In this video, we'll take a look at the Resource Management application.

Linked time codes for these topics appear in the YouTube description for this video.

In an enterprise, resource management highlights and provides transparency into projects from a cost and capacity standpoint.

This visibility allows for maximum utilization of the resource teams...

... and provides a window into future resource demands, enabling efficient resource planning.

The ServiceNow Resource Management application enables resource managers to create resource plans...

...request and allocate resources, and analyze resource availability and utilization.

Resource plans can be created for both Strategic and Operational needs...

... enabling an enterprise-wide view of resource availability and capacity.

The goal is to keep project planning directionally accurate...

... and improve your resource demand projections and cost forecast accuracy.

To see how it works, let's update a resource plan and add a resource to a project.

Note: Resource plans might be created as part of the Demand Management process and will be carried forward with project creation.

We're logged in as Paul Martin, the project manager for project Upgrade App Z.

Search for and open the project.

There's been a change in the project, and it'll require more time from Troy McCoy.

We increase the project hours from 520 to 550.

Because of the project hours increase, the planned cost has also increased.

We must update the cost plan to reflect this change.

Click update cost plan.

The resource manager, Rosie Mathews, will allocate those new hours to Troy in the Resource Workbench.

To start, we filter the list to display only projects within the IT Applications Modernization portfolio starting on April 2nd.

Because this is a view Rosie will use often, we'll save the filter as Q2 Projects.

Now, we'll run the filter…

And open the project.

The additional 30 hours needs to be allocated to Troy.

We'll do that in the widget on the right.

For now, we're done editing resources on this project, so we click Allocate.

Resource Plans can have two states after you request them: confirmed or allocated.

Confirmed is a soft assignment and allocation is a hard assignment.

Your organization business process will determine your resource commitment levels.

For example, you might confirm with a soft allocation until the project's start date approaches.

Then evaluate resources once more before moving the state from confirmed to allocated.

Another major benefit of the Resource Management application is the flexibility in scheduling and applying your business process workflows.

This flexibility allows a Resource Manager to manage the capacity of a team...

... and respond to resource requests in real time.

This improves visibility into resource demands and costs, which ultimately ensures that resources are fully utilized.

For more information, please consult our product documentation, knowledge base, or podcast.

Or ask a question in the ServiceNow Community.

Catch-Up Contributions: When You're Eligible, Contribution Limits, How-to Contribute | Now You Know - Duration: 1:09.

Hi, I'm Kevin from the TSP, and I'm going to talk about catch-up contributions.

Starting in the year you turn 50, you may be eligible to make catch-up contributions to your

TSP account on top of your regular employee contributions.

To be eligible, you must already be contributing

an amount that will reach the IRS annual elective deferral limit by the end of the year.

You should know that the catch-up contributions limits can change each year.

You can always find the most current IRS limits on tsp.gov.

You can make your catch-up contributions using

your agency's or service's payroll website (e.g. Employee Express, myPay, LiteBlue, EBIS, etc.)

If that option isn't available to you,

complete Form TSP-1-C, Catch-Up Contribution Election

or TSP-U-1-C for uniformed services and submit it to your payroll office.

You can download the form from tsp.gov or call

the ThriftLine at 1-877-968-3778 and choose

option 3 to request a copy. And now you know.
