Ep2 Deep Breathing (Belly) vs Shallow Breathing (Chest) - How To Check Yourself (Singers Alert) - Duration: 2:55.
Hi this is Bevlyn from SingingTechniques where you get tips and
insights into singing. So in my previous video I share two tips on how you can
breathe correctly for singing and in this video I'm gonna share with you how
you can check yourself to make sure you are doing them correctly. And if you
don't know how to do it, yet I would highly recommend that you check out my
previous video. And if you have, here is how you can check yourself to make sure
you're doing them right. Now place one hand on your chest and the other below
your belly button and breathe in through your mouth as normally as you can. Now
the best way to do this is to place yourself in front of a mirror so that
you can adjust yourself if necessary. What you should observe is that when you
breathe in and out your chest and your shoulders should not be rising and
falling like this. Or. If you see that you are doing this, you can limit these
actions by looking in the mirror and adjust yourself accordingly. Now it
should be pretty easy to stop your shoulders from moving up and down but if
you see that your chest and belly are moving at the same time, it's highly
probable that you are using shallow breathing, which is reflected by the
rising and falling of your chest. So why is it important to make sure that your
chest doesn't rise and fall when you breathe in and out? If you do that you
will experience a tightness in your chest especially if you draw in a lot of
air or if you try to sing and sustain a long line. But the key to good singing is
not to draw in a lot of air. The key to good singing is
Deep Breathing! And one very very important thing you need to take note of
when you are practicing belly breathing is to make sure that when you breathe in,
your belly inflates and when you breathe out, your belly deflates. If you do it the
reverse way, I can guarantee that you are using Shallow Breathing because even if
your belly is moving in and out, your chest is moving up and down too - like this
But the correct way should be
So does it mean that every time I sing a song, my chest and my shoulders do not
rise and fall? Yes! So spend a little time exploring and keep it fun! Do watch out
for my next video where I share more tips and insights into singing. And
remember to subscribe to this channel if you want your weekly video and hit the
bell if you don't want to miss an episode. See you in the next one.

Sadhguru - Bring balance within you and become available to the magic of life - Duration: 12:39.
Sadhguru: Generally all of us have about the same-sized skull,
I'll excuse the lady So
to a large extent most human beings have enough brain material
in their head everybody
except somebody who may be severely deformed at birth,
almost every average human being has what it takes to do life.
But why is it that one person's brain sparkles with genius,
another person's brain sparkles with pain and suffering and tension and stress
and whatever else?
All the ugliest things that nobody wants happens in people's minds.
So is it a question of higher intelligence?
Is it a question of some magical influence from somewhere?
Or is it a question of bringing the necessary balance within yourself
so that you become available to the magic of life?
A skewed intelligence, however smart it may look on the periphery
cannot make this life happen beautifully.
Above all, balance is needed - balance on all levels
otherwise our very body and our very brain will function against us
to a point where the only idea or the only form of relaxation today in the
world either their sleep or drink or drug.
All you're trying to do is to be brainless for a period of time
because brain has become such a nuisance.
If you didn't have one you would be at least peaceful
Yes.
What took millions of years of evolution to achieve,
today has become a nuisance.
What was What is the greatest miracle within this human
frame has become a misery manufacturing machine.
There're many aspects to it, I don't
I don't want to make it too simplistic but above all….
above all, the most important thing is
balance or lack of balance.
So this human mechanism which is
the most sophisticated instrument on the planet, if you do not pay enough attention to it,
if it turns against you, there is nothing here in the world which can
save you because nothing is more sophisticated than
this one Because this is of the highest level of evolution
and sophistication if this turns against you nobody can save
you, I want you to know this.
So if this should not turn against you, it'll… to know the entirety of what this
is, it'll take a certain level of attention.
But to bring balance to this doesn't take too much.
It is just that you're doing a few fundamental things absolutely wrong –
that's all.
To know the entirety of what this is, that's a whole lot of attention, time, education,
assistance, guidance, so many things are involved.
But to bring a reasonable sense of balance into you,
it doesn't take much you're doing a few things basically wrong
with life.
When I say basically wrong – one thing is
for everybody to understand all human experience is generated from within.
Is that so?
All human experience is generated from within.
So at any time if you feel happy or unhappy, miserable, joyful, ecstatic, in a… in a
state of agony, doesn't matter what happens
what is your experience pleasantness or unpleasantness just to know that it's happening from within
and it can only happen from within.
You can either take external stimuli or you can create your own stimuli
but essentially it happens from within.
This one thing if it is not grasped when you feel miserable,
if you think it's this one you're gone.
You're …you're just The keyboard is here
but you're punching the wall – this's not going to work.
This one basic fundamental thing is something that
almost ninety percent of the humanity is always doing it wrong.
Whenever they feel miserable, it they think it must this one or that one or
that one or that one –
no, all human experience is generated from within.
If something is feeling unpleasant, first thing is to look at this
"What am I doing wrong with this?
Am I eating wrong, am I sleeping wrong?
am I sitting wrong, am I breathing wrong,
is my heart beating wrong, something, my very chemistry is wrong,
something is wrong with this not with that
So the moment you think by kicking the wall you can fix this one
then you made a fundamental mistake – the harder you try the further away from it
you go.
So this possibility of bringing balance to the system first of all
is the fundamental nature of yoga.
The most basic forms of yoga whether it is… you know many of you're
doing probably the Nadi Vibhajan
or Yoga Namaskar or Surya Namaskar
or Surya Kriya these are all basic forms of yoga
the first thing is to bring balance.
Once there is balance, then you can build a tower on top of this.
If there is no balance, whatever you build will only lead to more
trouble.
The more basic you are the better it is.
So this is what a whole lot of humanity is seeking
somehow to re…remain basic, because if you build something, it feels terrible
when there is no fundamental balance.
Anything standing up without balance is a big problem.
So the best thing is to lie down, stay close to the ground.
If you grow tall it'll be a problem, so remain at the minimum.
A whole lot of humanity has reduced themselves to a minimal possible thing in their life
– "If I don't get into trouble that's
good enough a whole lot of humanity.
This is a serious waste of evolutionary work.
What has happened on this planet in the last few million years
to evolve life from its simplest form to what it is today
just wasting the entire process.
And Mother Earth is not going to get you let… let you get away with it,
you will pay the price.
If you try to make life go backwards it will make sure you pay the price.
So instead of trying to do this, that, so many things,
first thing is to do something to bring balance.
First step is just this that everything that I generate from within
me in the form of experience,
sensations painful,
pleasant, wonderful,
horrible, whatever I go through
is essentially generated from within me and nobody else but me.
Others may help tch, you know others help.
If you're miserable, some people will fuel it and help.
If you're joyful, some people will fuel that and help.
There're different types of people around us,
they assist you as they know their life but essentially it is your making.
This is the fundamental aspect of yoga.
The first teaching that came out was that it is your karma
that means it's your making.
Your life and the experience of your life is entirely your making.
If this one thing doesn't sink into you absolutely,
you will not make the necessary changes.
You still think "Yes, I know it's my karma
but you know my husband, what he did?"
Tch you can't fix this.
First you understand this is my making, entirely my making.
The moment you see it you have the ability to change it.
"I see it but you know what they did to me yesterday?"
Now you can't change it.
It doesn't matter who did what.
What is happening within you, your experience of your life is entirely your
making – this is your karma.
Karma means not something that drops upon you from somewhere,
karma means your action, it's your making,
it's your doing.
So, if you just set this one thing, creating the necessary balance will happen
automatically.
Once there is balance, then you would want to try many things.
Otherwise I'm talking about so many things up there in the sky,
you will only be a spectator you will not be the one who flies.
You will only be a spectator because when there is no balance,
you don't want to go three inches above the ground.
So this is one fundamental thing.
We've been talking about this in many forms but if you want to make the full scope
if you want to make use of the full scope of this body and this brain,
of this human possibility, of this consciousness that we refer to as
human being, then first thing is this
that you understand and fix it within you absolutely
that "The quality of my life is entirely my making
and nobody else and nobody else.".
If you fix this one thing, balance will come.
Once balance comes, I am impatient to take you to places
where only people with balance can walk, others cannot

5 ways save money on vacation in 2018 - Duration: 6:19.
hey guys welcome back to my channel my name is Heather gearheart and on this
channel we talk about all things that affect our lives on a daily basis
whether that's food or cleaning or marriage or parenting makeup
any of those things that affect us on a daily basis so please consider
subscribing and then hit the bell so you are notified of all future videos which
happens every Tuesday and Thursday also follow me on Facebook and Heather
Gerhart one one that's inspiring women and you will find those videos they are
because they post it there every Tuesday and Thursday okay without further ado
let's get into today's video today it's a vacation hack and I'm going to teach
you a few ways to save some money while you're vacationing so you can spend that
money on some more fun stuff so if that interests you stay tuned and let's do
this
okay we all love vacationing but it can get really expensive I mean really
expensive how come I check ten dollars especially if you have got kids now we
have four kids so trying to take a vacation with six of us can break the
bank I mean it's like a down payment on a house for crying out loud so here is
some tips that I came across to help you save some money when you're vacationing
so tip number one skip eating out so the way that you can do that is find a hotel
that has a free breakfast included lots of these hotels do this and some of them
are pretty decent and so that takes care of one of your meals you don't have to
go out for breakfast and that will save you a ton of money also if you have a
hotel that has a mini-fridge or a little mini kitchenette or anything like that
then you can go to the store and buy stuff to pack on a lunch if it's
convenient depending on what you're doing obviously on your vacation but if
there's any way to pack a lunch then that will save you some money on lunches
then when it comes to dinner you can go out with your family and spend your food
money on a nice dinner better have a good meal keep in mind
that most restaurants have huge portions and a lot of us aren't going to finish
those portions so my personal tip is share because when you can't take it
home necessarily unless of course you've got that kitchenette but you can't take
it home so you're not gonna take a doggie bag typically so instead split
something with someone in your family have them out that you're actually gonna
eat and then don't waste your money or your face tip number two share a condo
or a house with another family we have done this a couple of times once in st.
Maarten and one in Cancun and we stayed in a house which
actually is really great because then you have a kitchen and you can cook a
couple of meals a day there if you're at home and that saves a lot of money but
also you split the cost of the condo or the house and it saves you some money
it's really fun you end up being in a neighborhood most of the time which
makes you feel more like a local it's really kind of cool you get outside the
touristy areas and you stay in a neighborhood and it's just an amazing
experience we had such a great time so side note on that make sure you pick
some friends that you really want to spend all day with for seven days or
however long you're gonna go make sure there are people that your kids get
along with you get along with or if it's just couples that you're just gonna have
a great time and super easy stress-free low-key and relaxing so don't pick
someone that stresses you out but otherwise pick somebody that you really
like and go in together that will save you some money tip number three take a
road trip
airfare is so expensive so unless you're going somewhere overseas where you have
to take an airplane if you can take a road trip because it will save you money
on airfare and it will save you money on renting a car because when you get there
you already have a car now if you're going a really long distance and you
don't want to put that many miles on your car consider renting a car and
doing a road trip that way it's still relatively affordable and then you're
not putting miles on your own vehicle tip number 4 look for coupons I'm gonna
see your 25 cent we need rebate and raise you to tender vittles dollar opps
ok sites like Groupon have lots of vacation deals where you can get really
great discounts on airfare on hotels on destinations just look around and
research that and see if where you want to go has some kind of coupon that can
save you a ton of money end tip number 5 consider traveling on off days if you
can sometimes that's difficult because if you have kids and they're in school
and you can't really go on the off season or off days I understand that
we're in that situation too but if you can go midweek
somewhere go in the fall or the spring or winter or somewhere where it's not
the peak travel time you're gonna save on hotels you're gonna save on airfare
all the way around you're gonna get a better deal and it's gonna be less
crowded where you're going which makes for a really pleasant experience ok
that's it for today's video I hope you found this helpful
I hope you are inspired to take a vacation go somewhere see something new
spend some time with family and friends and have a great time this summer and
until the next video stay inspired I love you guys thanks so much for
watching please give it a thumbs up and I'll see you in the
next video the ladies

Hannah Gadsby and Nanette: What You Need to Know About the Comic and Netflix Special - Duration: 8:21.
Hannah Gadsby and Nanette: What You Need to Know About the Comic and Netflix Special Everyone Is Talking About
You should know this name: Hannah Gadsby.
However, if you ask your neighbor who Hannah Gadsby is, they probably won't be able to tell you.
That's about to change. Gadsby and her Netflix comedy special Nanette have slowly started making waves—and rightfully so.
Gadsby's Nanette, a comedy show she's toured with and won prestigious awards for, including Best Comedy Show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017, Barry Award for Best Show at Melbourne Comedy Festival 2017 and Best Comedy Performer at Helpmann Awards 2017, made its way to Netflix in June 2018.
This isn't your typical stand-up special. Nanette is funny, raw, unflinching and emotional.
It's not every day a comic says they intend to leave comedy in a stand-up set, nor is Hannah Gadsby your traditional comic.
This is everything you should and need to know about Gadsby and Nanette.
Best known to US viewers for her role in the critically acclaimed Australian import TV series Please Like Me, Gadsby made a splash on the Aussie comedy scene roughly a decade ago…thanks to a broken wrist.
"Look, like everything in my life was an accident, I was an accident, but, yeah, I was planting trees for a living.
It wasn't going well. You get paid per seedling, and…I don't move that quickly. I wasn't planting a forest a day," she told Seth Meyers.
And one day she broke her wrist planting a seedling. While waiting to have surgery, a friend told her she needed to broaden her audience.
The friend entered her into a comedy competition—and Gadsby won.
"It was ignorance that got me through," she said. "You know, that charm.".
Nanette is called Nanette because…well, a fluke really. "Such a mistake and everyone asks this question," Gadsby told Meyers.
"In Australia, I do the festival circuit, so I'd write an hour every year and you've got to come up with names well before you write the show because—Well, I do, because I don't do the work in a timely fashion.
So, I had this idea for a show, and I'd just met this woman called Nanette, and I thought I'd get an hour of laughs out of it, easy." After she sat down to write it, well, she didn't get an hour of laughs.
"I really overshot the potential of Nanette," she said.
Nanette was a barista in a small town who Gadsby assumed was an older woman because of her name…but "she was just a bruiser," Gadsby said. "She was just full of hate.".
Nanette, the show, starts off like a typical stand-up special.
Things take an emotional turn toward the end, an emotional turn that will make viewers think about comedy, comics and their own senses of humor in new ways.
Specifically, Gadsby says in the special, "I built a career out of self-deprecating humor and I simply will not do that anymore, not to myself or anybody who identifies with me.
Do you understand what self-deprecation means? It's not humility, it's humiliation.".
Gadsby said when she first started comedy she went into the self-deprecation arena because that's how she said she learned to "defuse…this situation," referring to herself.
While she personally loves that style of humor, she "realized in stand-up, it is very much a man's game, and that's fine…But what I was finding is I was diffusing everything that people would assume about someone like me.".
"So basically I'm a fat, queer woman who makes no attempts to be attractive to men…I'm quite a cerebral comic, and I had to undermine all this, and I found that I was putting myself down all the time," she said.
She said she found herself playing into stereotypes, like that lesbians are angry, but she decided to quit comedy and address everything in Nanette because "I was hurting myself.
"I was doing all the fat jokes…And I realized, then, the power I had on stage was not reflected in the world and I didn't know how to reconcile the power I had in the reach with my platform, and then I go out in the world and just be all my sub-human in certain parts," she said.
"That's what the show's about…Putting the line in the sand, saying, 'How can I do this job if I'm putting myself down?'".
Hannah Gadsby: Nanette is now streaming on Netflix.

How to Make Costume Suspenders | TuTu Ep 45 - Duration: 4:11.
for this project you're going to want some ribbon I just got some normal
ribbon here the next thing you will need are some snap hair clips I just clipped
together like this you squeeze them to open them so I'm going to slide the
clips onto my pants or shorts that I'm going to be wearing with my suspenders
and I'm going to put two in the front and two in the back I want to put the
flat side of the clips facing outward and this is going to help me line up
they're they're going to be so the next thing I want to do is I want to take my
ribbon and I'm going to measure how long I need it so I'm just holding it behind
me I'm starting with the back left and I'm leaving a little bit of overhang and
I'm just gonna mark that spot there and then I'm gonna come over my right
shoulder so I can get that crisscross bring it to the front and I'm going to
hold it down in front of the front clip and I'm going to measure and Mark a spot
a little bit beyond the clip but I want to mark where the end of it is and make
sure you stand up straight so that way your suspenders are long enough now I'm
gonna mark a little spot where the end of the clip needs to line up now it's
time to cut our ribbon so here's the one and where I've marked and left a little
bit beyond and then here's the other end where I marked it so I'm gonna come a
little bit beyond my mark and I'm going to follow my ribbon in half and then I'm
going to line up the other ends and then I'll cut my ribbon with a pair of
scissors so now I've got a link that is double how much I will need and I'm
going to find the center of this and cut it in half no I'm going on the
assumption that I will need the same length for both sides of my suspenders
you may want to measure both sides if you think one side will be way different
than the other but for me just measuring it and then doubling it is good enough
so now I've cut it into two separate pieces
now it's time to grab out the glue gun so I've got my clip and the glue gun and
my ribbon so I'm gonna start by putting hot glue on the flat part of my clip and
just cover it so you have enough to create a good seal with the ribbon and
I'm going to line the edge up with the mark that I made and then just firmly
press down just be careful because we glue is hot so it will squeeze out from
the sides a little bit but it helps if you pick it up and really squeeze it in
there make sure you open your clip so that way the top part of the clip that
opens doesn't also get stuck to the side now you want to hold it open and we're
gonna add some glue on the ribbon and then we're going to fold the extra piece
of ribbon over just that we have a nice seal and a nice edge for our suspenders
so you won't see the clip at all and just press it down until the glue
hardens get rid of your glue strings and then it's time to do the other end so
we're gonna do pretty much the exact same process where we're going to get
our clip and we're going to put hot glue on the flat side of our clip then stick
the hot glue side to our ribbon and we're using the marks that we made when
we were measuring our ribbon to know how far to go get it really secure there
together don't forget to open the top part so that with the top part doesn't
stay down clean the glue bow and if you get any built-up on the top part but
then we're going to once more squeeze our clip to hold it open and then add
some hot glue to the ribbon and we'll fold it in half and it will cover up the
clip make a nice seal and that's how you do to make one of the suspender straps
I'm gonna do the same to my other strap and then they'll be ready to go alright
time to test these out so I'm just going to do em one at a time I'm going to
create the crisscross in the back I'm going to clip the back on one side and
then the front on the other side so on this one I'm doing the back to the left
and then in the front of clipping it to my right so for the other strap to
finish creating the crisscross I'll clip it to the right of me in the
that and then come over my left shoulder and I will clip it to the left in front
and there you know that's all it takes to make these fun costume suspenders I'm
using these for a VBS kit these would also be great if you have nerd day at
your school or even just for Halloween happy crafting

Big Pharmaceutical Companies Don't Want You to Watch This Video and Neither Does Your Grandma - Duration: 8:52.
Want to be a drug addict?
If you live in the U.S. chances are you probably already are.
The U.S. - land of the free, of MTV, and of legal drugs.
This might just be what makes America great.
A place where our doctors prescribe us pills we don't need for conditions that don't
exist.
It's a win-win.
Big Pharma gets bigger and richer and we get higher or just die.
The story was different 50 years ago when Jon went down to his dentist's office to
get his wisdom teeth pulled and the doctor gave him aspirin as pain medication.
This was a time when young men went to war and women worked their asses off at home to
save the country from collapse.
Now?
We get high, play video games, watch YouTube, and complain when someone doesn't call us
the right gender.
And these days if old Jonny boy goes to the dentist and wants some work done it's dealers
choice.
Vicodin.
Percocet.
Codeine.
You name it.
Whatever company happens to be in bed with your doctor that day.
And if you don't have private insurance that pays for your drugs?
No problem.
Sign up for Medicaid.
You'll definitely be able to get free drugs through them.
Hello everyone.
Thought Monkey here.
Today we're going to explore the issue of what big pharma doesn't want anybody to
know.
First what exactly is the pharmaceutical industry?
To make a long story short it's a business that creates drugs for use as medications.
It's important to note that it's not a terrible industry.
In fact they have made some very important discoveries like insulin which has saved millions
of lives or the countless vaccines that have protected us from at one point, very common
diseases like measles and hepatitis.
The problem is not the idea of pharmaceuticals – drugs are neither good nor bad.
They can either be helpful or dangerous depending on their use.
The problem with big pharma is that it is literally killing people.
And it's making a profit doing so.
And our government is basically encouraging it.
You may ask yourself how an industry that it supposed to be providing us medication
which is regulated by the Federal Drug Administration – an organization responsible for "protecting
the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy and security of human…drugs,"
is killing us.
Let's first look at the health statistics: • 99% of hydrocodone worldwide use is in
the U.S – we know this drug more colloquially as Vicodin (which is just a company that makes
hydrocodone).
This is a drug that the FDA rates as less dangerous as marijuana but in 2011 caused
nearly 100,000 emergency department visits.
• The U.S. makes up 5% of the world's population but consumes 80% of its opioid
consumption • On average 40 deaths per day are linked
to specifically prescription opioids and over 100,000 deaths per year linked with prescription
drugs in general.
This is far more deaths than what illegal street drugs cause.
• Prescription drugs are now the 4th leading cause of death in the U.S.
Ok.
You get the point.
Prescription drugs are dangerous and they are killing people.
But now the question is why are people taking them if they're so dangerous?
The answer lies in the incredible reach of big Pharma.
The pharmaceutical industry spends between 30 and 60 billion dollars a year on advertising
their miracle drugs.
You've all seen their ads – blue skies, beautiful couple, trees – having trouble
sleeping?
Bad knees?
Buy our pill and feel like new.
And then the 10 second list of possible side effects which always include "and in extreme
cases, death."
The folks that regulate these advertisements have a budget of $9 million dollars.
Do you really think a $9 million dollar budget is enough to regulate something that is more
than 6,000 times that size.
This is not a David vs. Goliath story.
This is an ant vs. an elephant.
Big pharma is also notorious for selling drugs that aren't approved for certain symptoms
– a practice called Off-Label Promotion.
For example your doctor might prescribe you an antidepressant because she or he believes
it will help your migraines.
This practice is at times is legal and at others illegal.
If illegal you will learn shortly that the fine usually is smaller than the profit these
companies make.
Big pharma might just consider it another tax of doing business.
And yes it has in some cases caused death.
There is also the idea that big Pharma creates new illnesses and solves them with their pills.
Sounds like a conspiracy theory, right?
But actually it makes a lot of sense and you've probably seen an ad that talks about some
made up illness and a pill to fix it without thinking twice.
For example restless leg syndrome.
Is that really an illness?
When I sit down for long periods of time my leg moves.
But I think it's because I'm bored and I don't want to be sitting (which by the
way is an extremely unnatural position for our bodies to be in – I mean where in nature
can you anything like the modern chair and when in history did we ever have to sit down
for 8 hours a day – yeah our legs are restless because we're not supposed to be doing the
work that we are, in the modern age).
But yeah you want a pill for that imaginary illness?
It exists – go on WebMD.
There are dozens of recommended drugs you can take for your lively leg.
So it's easy see that these drugs kill people and it's pretty easy to understand why people
buy them.
I mean the consumer is f*cked.
We're relying on a budget the size of an ant to regulate the behavior of an elephant.
And it gets worse.
Because the ant (or in this case our government) ends up helping the elephant (or big Pharma).
The government sponsored health programs Medicaid and Medicare (part of the ant in our example)
actually perpetuate this problem.
Both of these are government health programs funded by our taxes that provide health care
to people who either can't afford it on their own or are old.
Health care unfortunately often means just providing pills for people who have problems.
In this respect our taxes are literally killing us.
You can actually think of it like a cycle – and I'll explain that in a minute.
First how is our government f*cking us so badly?
First big Pharma donates millions and millions of dollars to our Congress members and even
presidents.
Yes even Obama was given a whopping 1.2 million dollars in his 2008 election by big Pharma.
You know when a friend lends you money you feel obliged to pay them pack whether in dollars
or favors.
Same sh*t in Washington.
The favors here come in enormous tax breaks, tiny fines for violating laws such as the
prohibition of Off-Label promotion, and of course the revolving door between the FDA
and big Pharma.
One current example of a tax break is under the Republican Trumpcare Plan where big Pharma
would get $28 billion dollars in breaks.
Johnson and Johnson alone would reap in $19.8 billion.
The biggest ever big Pharma fine for illegal activity on the other hand was $2.3 billion
when the company Psifzer – the Viagra company - was found mis-marketing a handful of their
drugs.
That year the company made $43 billion in gross profit despite such a fine.
The same year that company was found guilty in causing the deaths of at least 5 Nigerian
Guinea pig children in a trial run of one of their drugs.
Wow.
And let's just say the more research I did the worse it got.
And what about those revolving doors?
According to one study in some scientific magazine that only 10 people probably read
it says that between 2001 and 2010 half of blood researchers that reviewed drugs between
those years moved on to work for big Pharma.
This makes sense though.
The FDA doesn't offer the salary that the billion dollar pharma industry does.
Also frustrated yet dedicated FDA members have talked about the fact that they can't
stop certain drugs from being approved because their bosses are being pressured by big pharma
lobbyist.
In essence the thing that is supposed to regulate big pharma is being regulated by big pharma.
So here's the cycle.
Big Pharma wants to make money on their new drug.
They have to convince doctors to prescribe it and they do so in many different ways.
One way is by using beautiful sales women or men – yes they recruit from modeling
agencies - but let's move on.
The doctor then has a patient with such and such problem – headache, restless leg syndrome,
whatever – let's use depression as an example.
The doctor then prescribes the pill that the pharma rep just pitched.
Your insurance or Medicaid/Medicare (paid for by our taxes) or yourself then pays for
the prescription that the patient may or may not actually need.
The patient doesn't know, however, that they just got a pill that includes one drug
for depression and another to sedate the person from intense agitation.
It then causes that person to go on a rampage (and I'm not kidding this actually happened,
look up Joseph Wesbecker).
The pill?
Prozac.
Big Pharma makes billions because of their strategic Prozac marketing campaign, but gets
a slap on the wrist fine for their negligent business dealings.
Joseph and 6 others die (not to mention however many other rampage killings are due to Prozac
side effects), but big Pharma makes billions and gets to spread the love to the FDA, Congress
and even the President.
They all high five and suck each other's d*cks and make a sh*t load of money.
This, though, is just the tip of the mother f*cking iceberg.
And I thought you should know.
The moral of the story?
Don't do drugs guys.
All it does is f*ck you up and make rich people richer.
And if you do do drugs, just stick to weed.
Ok maybe mushrooms from time to time, I guess ayahuasca seems to be alright.
And a little bit of ecstasy I guess is cool too.
But seriously, stay away from anything legal.

How To Use a Teleprompter... for YouTubers - Duration: 11:45.
Today we're a little bit less theoretical and a bit more tactical. They
were talking teleprompters. You've used teleprompters before. I am using one
right now. Actually we're not. But we're going to show you and we're going to
demonstrate for you how to use a teleprompter.
If your new or old in YouTubing, I could have talked a little bit about
teleprompters today and the use of this really cool technology that recently app
developers and others have made it so easy for you to use. Yeah, it become a lot
easier. And I highly recommend this for new and experienced people. Just to watch
this. See what... See we're going to show, I'm actually going to demonstrate a
really cool teleprompter that you're really going to enjoy. But I want to
introduce it by talking about some pros and cons of when and why we should
use a teleprompter or maybe what reasons we shouldn't use a teleprompter. So, start
with the pros. So, one, it gives you great confidence. Definitely.
If you if you have a fear of being in front of the camera, you don't know what
to say, you're going to be doing lots of takes. Confidence, I mean, you already have
it scripted out, you just have to read the words. Not a problem, especially if
you're the one that's written it. It's your own stuff already, anyway. Off you go.
So, you can also be a lot more intentional. So, if you're doing a promo
video and you want to script it out, take somebody through it, kind of a sales
conversation, get somebody engaged emotionally. It's harder to do that when
you're just off the cuff or you're just going by points, if you have a script then
you know exactly what to say, you know, you put in the right words. Yeah, makes sense. So,
you can be a lot more intentional. And I mentioned, you know, the takes.
If you're scripted, you know what you're going to say, it'll take less takes, you
don't have to start over and "I want to say that better". Been there, done that. Yes.
What about stress? You know, when I use the teleprompter because I do a lot of
professional stuff as well, that's broadcast or whatever. The stress of
thinking that I have to memorize or at least capture the gist of a lot of
things does give me a lot more nervousness. And to be able to just stare
into the lens like I'm talking to you right now and read these words, certainly
makes it a lot less stressful. It takes away a lot of that energy that you don't
need especially if you're shooting a lot of videos in one setting. In the last point,
I'll say, I call better content but that not necessarily because sometimes when
it's more conversational that has a lot of value in itself. But what I mean
in this case is, you can make it more concise, you can make sure you're hitting
all your points and so you can provide a complete picture, perhaps.
Yeah, yeah, definitely. So, now let's talk about some of the cons. "It takes time to
write a script." If I'm going to write a video and write five bullet
points, that might take me a minute or so just to think of the points. But if I'm
going to script it out, for me, that's at least an hour. Yeah, right now, if you
can't guess, we're not on teleprompter. I mean, this is all very much bullet points
that we have on a computer underneath the screen. But that makes it very
conversational and like you say, "Anything can come up". And it's a lot quicker this
way. And it's... With the teleprompter, "It's easy to lose energy". Because you can just
get into reading mode, it's really easy to read and you can have a
really boring voice when you're when you're reading. And actually the
movement can get a little hypnotic as well. If there's a lot of copy on the
screen at once or you... It really doesn't matter but if it's moving at a certain
pace and rhythm, it can be challenging to keep you awake. Yeah. Yeah. And then
"Eye movements" depending on the teleprompter, depending on how close you
are to the camera. Sometimes people will see or your eyes moving back and forth
and they're like, "Is he reading?" The illusion is blown, yeah. So, but we have
some... But I have a teleprompter, I'm going to show you that works really, really
well and and we're going to demonstrate how to use a teleprompter correctly. You're
going to be the guinea pig so you better be a good example. I'm in. So, I've got my
camera here. It's a DSLR. This is a this is a wide
lens but it's also a big lens. Big is important because if your eyes are
moving back and forth in here you're looking at the lens no matter or so, you
got a big area that you can look at versus if I were to be filming on my... The
camera on my phone but I'm looking over here. So, anyway. Check this out. This is
the teleprompter. This little box and in fact, it's got a cover on it so that the
trick is there's the beam splitter glass. It's basically a glass with a special
coating on it that's really reflective on one side. Right. And this... Because the lens
needs to see through it clearly. Yes. This attaches to the lens so the lens
goes through it but then... here, can you assist me? Just put
to put the camera or the phone, just set it in here. Oh, in here? Yeah like that. Oh,
sorry. Okay. In fact, I'm learning along
with you. I've seen other versions and this is really cool. You can see my lock screen
or my wallpaper. So, it just reflects. Oh it turned off. Let me bring up a
script now. And I'm going to hit play. So, I'm going to hold this up here, get it to focus
on that. Here, you hold this and you hold it up close. I'll make sure the focus
goes on there. Okay, so you can see the words scrolling there and go it down a
little bit because it glare. There we go. So, anyway you're basically reading the
words of the script as they scroll along. And you can change the font size.
So, it's reflecting from the phone up to that glass but the cameras is just filming
right through it. So, you're looking right at the lens just like you're reading the
television news. So, I want to show you a different app. I'm using, this app right
here, it just has its scroll and you can control the spin...And it is fairly slow, yeah. You
can you can speed it, up slow it down, just whatever you're talking
speed is. I'm going to switch to a different app. So, now I switched it to another app
that I forget the name of it all. I'll put the link in the description for this
app. But it moves automatically with your talking. So, how can we demonstrate
it and show that automatic. Well I'll do it. Scott and I we're trying to figure
out how to show this to you and demonstrate what we're seeing here and i
can't figure out how to do it. So, I'll just describe what it does. It moves when
you read the words. So, it's voice-activated. Its voice activated.
And it recognizes the words that I'm using. And so, if he wants to talk slower and pause,
it'll just wait and then as he says it, it will then catch up. Okay,
this is how... The do-how-not-to first. How not to read from a teleprompter. So this
is just a script that I grabbed. "So, if you're watching this because you're
suffering from morning sickness and looking for help, when I say I feel your
pain, I mean it. What is M-S nausea during pregnant"... Okay, that's bad.
That is bad. Okay, go back, go back to where you were and now let me... see I
don't know how to do it wrong. I've never been taught that.
"So, if you are watching this because you're suffering from morning sickness
and looking for help, when I say I feel your pain I mean it.
What is M-S? Nausea during pregnancy which can be mild or severe often accompanied
by other digestive issues like indigestion,
acid reflux, heartburn, these are just so many good things I want to talk about." So...
It's cool though, I mean, I just say as a witness to this that it is moving with
me as I go. Which normally, that requires a whole other warm bodied person to sit
there and be the teleprompter operator. I've worked with them for years. They're
normally union guys. Don't have great personalities but they do know how to
follow you. In this case, working on your own, it's doing it for you. Which is great.
Because I've used other teleprompter apps for some of my stuff and I have to
just set it at a constant speed. And sometimes it's going too slow and I have
to stop and fix it and put a little vice-versa, so this is great. So, in the
past I had another teleprompter that was... it was a big box, it had a lid that had
the special glass on it. You put your iPad inside it or your phone inside that
would reflect it up which sometimes there'd be a big projector. But in my
case, I still used an iPad and then I put my camera behind it on a
different tripod and had a big black cloth or the top of it and I actually...
Somebody asked me, "Hey, can I borrow your teleprompter?" And I'm like, "I don't lend
out my stuff." And then I thought, "You know what, I've got that older one." So, I let him borrow my
older one and he hasn't returned it. That's why don't lean out my stuff. But if
you're watching this video, give me back my other teleprompter. But they don't need it now. That's so obsolete. This is so easy.
But this one, because it attaches to the lens, it shades out the background,
it's amazing. Now, for those of you who don't... Who still aren't convinced. You're
probably not watching this video. So, maybe I'm talking to people who aren't
watching this video. But if you are really confident on camera, you feel like
you don't need a teleprompter, I bet you still write bullet points down on a
screen or on a whiteboard or something like that.
So, with one of my clients that's that way, he was anti-teleprompter, I put up a few bullet points. His script on the screen was just the bullet
point. And we filmed it and he's like, "That was amazing! I got to give you one of
those." So, this this is called the parrot. I'll hold this up there so you can... I'm
trying to get it to focus on that. Well it's the parrot. You know the word parrot.
It's the parrot teleprompter. So, yes, it attaches to a
DSLR lens and it comes with adapter so it can fit all in sizes. It's cool. Very
cool. Yeah, definitely worth it. So, hopefully that gives you a little
introduction of how to use a teleprompter. Fairly simple as you can
see. If the technology is half the battle and then the rest is, can you read
conversationally? If not, you might consider the bullet point approach which
is actually a really great alternative because most of the time, I think, and I'm
not the expert but you'll know enough about what you want to talk about that
if you just have a few prompted bullet points, you can then go. And then
conversational is, unnatural is right at the tip of your tongue. It takes
practice but, yeah. But I mean, if you're not reading it, we're not reading. Does
this sound natural? So, that I guess I'll give one more point on the reading it. If
you're reading a script, all it takes is practice. Record one, use a teleprompter
and raise your energy, be more energetic and then watch it afterwards and you're
going to think, "Man, I thought I was being energetic." That's what happened to me .Okay, so,
When I first started filming, I had to use a teleprompter for everything.
I would raise my energy but then I watch it afterwards and I was just sitting
there totally dead monotone I'm like, "But that was with high energy." So... See, I think
that...Back to our point about the cons, as we wrap this up is really, you
know, it can be a con for the reasons that we mentioned particularly the time
that it takes to write it and then if you need time to practice it and because
you're not very good at it. And the extra equipment, I mean, it just kind of depends
on I think, you know, like a great intro to a video, you might put on a
teleprompter. It's brief, it's quick but it's also concise and to the point it
doesn't need to be terribly conversational. But the meat of your
video, you might want to be more fluid. Just depends on your style of videos and
ultimately, let this be your your decision maker here. What's going to help
you make videos faster? What's going to help you get started? Yeah.
Well, I think that was pretty helpful. Good. Especially for those who have no
idea how to use a teleprompter. Did we convinced you? One way or the other. Yeah, let us know.
Are you going to be trying a teleprompter or not? I'd be curious to hear?
We'll see you tomorrow.

Rope Braid Bun Tutorial | SewBrenna - Duration: 7:32.
howdy hey hello there. today I'm going to show you a bun hairstyle that I created
after watching another youtuber's video The Freckled Fox. she does a twisted rope
braid tutorial which I love. it looks great on her hair. wish I could do it as
good as she does. if you'd like the full tutorial for just the braid go to her
channel. which I will link that video down in the description but from her
braid I adjusted it a bit and then turned it into a bun. but for the
hairstyle that I made you'll need: dry shampoo, hairbrush, tiny hair ties, and
lots of pins. first thing to do is dry shampoo. remove glasses and I like to
remove my jewelry just so that it doesn't snag on my hair and rip my hair
out. that's always a good thing right? yeah. okay. umm and then part it on the
side and I'm actually me go all the way down and bring this part over to this
shoulder and then spray it with a little dry shampoo. it helps it hold the shape.
helps it if it's fresh hair. helps hold it if it's dirty hair. it does hold on "dirty
hair" not stick nasty gross ugly yuckiness but just dry shampoo helps.
long story short. and then comb through the length of your hair just to get all
of the tangles out of it just to help with that anyway. after you part your
hair grab a small rectangular section from the top. that's kind of big.
about right like that. then you'll split this in half or in half-ish. and then
you'll take the front go over the back and then grab another piece add it to
that piece and then go over. keep this nice and tight.
I usually tend to start grabbing larger sections once I get closer to my
ear. and make sure you grab from the back of your head as well. so more of a
sweeping kind of motion. now that I've grabbed everything that I can grab on
this side, fold it over pull it tight and then add- start adding this part of your
hair into it. but keeping it as tight as you can. also try and push it more
towards the back and this will help it loop around more.
so now it should be mostly falling over your other shoulder. now we're going to
twist like a rope braid. so twisting the hair sections in the same way and then
twist opposite. twist it down as far as you can and then use a little teeny tiny
hair tie. if you have light hair I would suggest using the clear ones. if you have
dark hair like me I'm using just black or dark brown you can use clear too
it's up to you. so there's all of these you can hairspray them down but before
you do that come in through here and volumize it a bit. just by pulling the
sections. just to kind of fluff it up a bit and then come through here and do
the same thing. like I said Freckled Fox does it a lot better than I do. she's the
one that came up with the rope braid as far as I know. so if you want to see it
look really really good go see hers. okay I'm pretty happy with that fluff amount
because it will kind of lift itself once I pin it up into the bun shape. now I'm
just going to pull this up and around and then I just tuck my ends underneath
another part of it. and then pull this pretty tight then once you get it where
you like it pick up some pins. I'm using both hair
pins and bobby pins. so this is a hair pin because it's more of a v-shape and
the bobby pins tend to be more closed. more like that.
by the way please don't open these with your teeth it's terrible for your teeth
please don't. okay so taking hair pins and bobby pins pick up a chunk and slide it
in. the thicker and longer you're hair the more bobby pins you're gonna have to
use. sorry girls.
basically just pinning until it feels secure and then if you have a mirror you
can check the back. I don't so hopefully this looks okay. might pin
a little bit more there. so before you walk out the door even use your cell
phone or a mirror ope, there it came out! Ah! and just check the back. make sure there's no odd pieces
sticking out that you don't want sticking out and then you should be good
to go. and then once you get that done you can come back through here kind of
poof this up a bit more and just make it how you want it. once you have everything
pinned and pretty much where you want it you can pull out a few pieces and just
kind of make it a bit more loose. just bouncier
or whatever and then to smooth out the back you can either tease the crown of
your head before you do this hairstyle or just kind of smooth it with a brush. I
don't know. so there you go. pretty easy pretty comfortable. I like it. how about
you? thanks so much for spending some time with me today and trying out this
new hairstyle with me. -I hope I get to see you soon. Bye!

How to secure your Facebook account and make it private - everything you need to know in 2018 - Duration: 4:19.
How sure are you that your Facebook profile is set to private? How sure are you that
nobody can snoop in and see information they shouldn't? today on Tech Tip
Tuesday I'm gonna be sharing with you how you can have a security check up of
your Facebook profile to make sure that everything is set to the best security setting that it needs to
hey welcome to another Tech Tip Tuesday my
name's Liron Segev where every Tuesday I share with you tips and tricks to make
you more productive, more efficient, and get more out of your system. If that
sounds cool to you smash that subscribe button and let's get on to today's show
so the first thing we're going to do is change our Facebook password click on
settings click on security and login go to change password click on edit and
here put in a nice new secure password now no "Password" no "Password123" two
not your name and your dad's name and dog's name something secure right
next up let's do a privacy checkup click on the Help button and choose
privacy checkup and now this is gonna go through the systems to see what you have
got set and who can see what for example in your post can everybody see it? public
friends, friends and acquaintances etc etc etc choose the one that you
want and click on next.
Now on your profile you can see your date of birth where do
you work you can see which apps and web sites that you used to connect and login
go through the settings choose the one that suits you and then finish your
check up.
Facebook posts are typically only
between you and your friends but if you do want to make something public that
everyone can see it's simply selec it right here and everyone can see it
You know when people tag you in the photos and you really wish they hadn't?
you don't want them to appear in your timeline? well you can control that as well
click on timeline and tagging review
your tagging options but this one I like is the review option click on edit and
now you can have full control that you can approve post before they appear on
your time line.
The next time you see one of these sponsored posts or an ad on
Facebook what you can do is click those three little dots next to that and then
you have an opportunity to see "why am I seeing this?" what it will do is will tell
you exactly why this particular advertiser chose to target you why would
you be perfect for this? you can also click on manage ad preferences and here
is the gold this is why you've been targeted for specific ads or specific
information. Facebook knows all these signals that you told it about your
interests your hobbies things that you're into now I would go down to where
it says your information and there's no reason to share certain information with
third parties like your job titles your relationship status your education etc
untick all of those and if you head further down you've got an even more
control over your edge settings so you can actually go through and say what
information you want to share versus watch information did not allow me to share
on Facebook you have the ability to like companies and pages and sometimes what
it does it puts your name at the top and saying you've endorsed this page or you
also licked this page well here's the way to disable that. There is no reason for
anyone to know which pages I liked and which company I have endorsed
because it looks like I've actually endorsed that company which is actually not true.
Right as you continue further down hide or add topics this is cool
we've got things like alcohol, parenting pets you can say I don't want to see
these ad for six months and I want to see these ads for one year or I never
ever want to see these ads so a good way to go and enable or disable the air as
you do add or wanna see for what period of time.
we know with Facebook in order to
keep it free we're gonna have to suffer with ads well it might as well be adds that we want.
but I just nice to see that we now have got much more granular control on
the canopy ads then we're gonna be served and what we can opt in and out of
before you go don't forget to smash that subscribe button if you're new here and
share this video with other people so they could keep their Facebook profile
safe and secure and I'll see you next week's episode off Tech Tip Tuesday
cheers for now

Is Kale Good For You? Oh... but I don't like it - Duration: 3:28.
- Good morning.
I'm preparing a really yummy kale salad for lunch,
and since I used to hate eating kale,
and now I just love it, I wanted to share with you
the one secret of how I prepare kale
that makes it so, so, so much more enjoyable.
And another thing I just wanted to mention,
when there is a food like kale, or broccoli,
or cauliflower, but I'm talking kale now,
that you don't like to eat, but it is so,
so, so, so, so, so healthy for you,
kale has 11 times the strength fighting,
illness, boosting your immune system,
11 times stronger than broccoli,
and broccoli's already so strong,
fighting cancer cells, fighting illness,
so it's really, really worth learning to like,
to like and to enjoy eating kale,
and I want to tell you, it is not only
worth the investment, but it's an investment
that will pay off, because you will
eventually, yes, you will eventually
not dislike it, and also, maybe,
no, no, not maybe, you will love it.
You will love eating kale.
I, at this point, it's such a treat.
I love it so much, and I used to just despise it.
It's so bitter, it's so raw, I mean,
it's I don't know, so difficult to chew.
It was just something I did not enjoy at all.
But I love it now.
So, how do I make it so that it's more enjoyable?
My fresh kale.

All right, let's get started.
Okay, I'll put my bib on.
My bib, I called it bib!
It's my apron.
Okay.
Now, to the secret.
The secret of making kale really, really yummy
and really tasty is slicing it
super, super, super, super thinly.
I like to do that with my food processor / shredder.
I have the Breville Sous Chef, which I really love.
And I have this, with the Breville,
comes a, I can change the setting here,
and I usually put it at three.
Oops, where is it here?
Three means, three millimeters,
and I'll do the math later, to tell you
what that is in inches, but so if you don't
have a food processor, then you just need
to put a little bit more effort and time in.
You can just cut it, slice it up, really, really thin.
And it'll come out so nice.
And it'll be so enjoyable when you eat it.
Okay, let's see.
