Hi everyone!

This is Kaukab Yaseen from Kdigits.

Friends, it's a beginner level video.

That is all about document setting in Illustrator.

In this video you will be able to know that how to create a new document in Illustrator.

Friends, this new document can be a single-page document or it can contain multiple pages,

as we're about to see.

So let's start.

First, go up to the File menu and choose the New command, which has a standard

keyboard shortcut of Control + N. As we click here we'll bring up the New Document

dialogue box.

First, we'll change the document name, as I paste here, you can give any name of your

choices, but meaningful name is always a good practice.

Friends, this could be just a temporary name because we can actually decide the document

file name when we save the file to the computer.

Next we have a Profile (document profile) where you can see a small triangular shape

at the other corner, that indicates additional available options.

Before discussing next option, I want to draw your attention that how options and their

values are interrelated here.

Like, when we already have Print selected in the profile section, then you can see Letter

in the Size tab and here we have some additional presets of standard paper sizes.

Also, we have a Points by default selected in the Units tab.

Now we'll select another profile like: I select Web.

So we'll find some other presets related to the web within the Size option, and now you

can see Pixels within the Units.

Like that, if we select any other profile like Devices, then you can see here some devices

related prestes.

So for the sake of this demonstration, I switch back to the print.

Now we have Number of Artboards, in other words Number of Pages.

As I already told you in the beginning of this video that this document could be a multiple-

pages document.

So here I'm going to create a 4 pages document, as I mentioned here.

Also you can mention here how you want to get arranged your artboards, number of columns,

and what would be the distance between two artboards.

for the front and back sides of the card within the same document.

Okay, so let's move forward.

We have already taken a look at size tab.

So let's discuss units, here a triangular shape again indicates availability of additional

options, as you can see here.

Friends we'll discuss all these units in our upcoming videos, but for now I'm going to

select inches.

As you already know that here we have different presets, but we can give custom values for

the width and height.

So I'll select the Width value, and change it to 4, and then I'll tab to the Height value,

and change it to 6 inches.

Now that ends up giving me a vertical orientation, as indicated by this highlighted icon.

Now if I select this horizontal orientation, then you can see Illustrator automatically

swaps the Width and Height values.

Here, I would like to tell you that each and every artboard inside your document can be

a different size and orientation.

Okay, here I switch back to the vertical orientation and let's talk about Bleed.

Basically, bleed is some area where you can extend your design beyond the edges of an

original document.

It's useful in commercial designing for borderless printing.

And so what I'm going to do is click one of the up arrow icons associated with Top, Bottom,

Left or Right, and because the link icon is turned on, all the values are changing in

kind.

And I'm going to click one of these up arrows a second time to tell the Illustrator that

I required.25 inches for the bleed.

Now we're going to ok our setting, and you can see that we have a new document containing

4 artboards.

Here you can see the given name of our document.

This red line represents the bleed, and the black outline indicates the selected artboard.

If I click this second artboard then you can notice it's outline that turned black and

indicates currently selected artboard.

You can also navigate these artboards from the bottom area.

Achieve your goals for 2019 - Duration: 4:18.

A good friend of mine recently facilitated a meetup group. The topic of

the group was expressing gratitude for the past 12 months, and I love groups

like this. I love groups that help us focus on the positive things in life,

because there's so many negative things that hit us front back sideways center

that it's easy to lose focus of the positive things that also happen in our

life. You know, I've talked a lot about maintaining gratitude journals over the

year in various videos. It's a non-negotiable for me. For many of my

clients, it's a non-negotiable. They see the importance of it, but I don't really

talk about goals much. And there was a question that came out of the meetup

event that I thought was really good, and it was a question, "what do you want to be

grateful for twelve months from now?" And, it was like a little way of setting a

goal. And I just, I think that goals are great to have. I mean you

might have a goal of getting a new job next year or finding a job next year if

you're unemployed. Maybe making a $100,000.00 more. $200,000.00 more. Whatever that number might be. Maybe it's getting a

promotion. Maybe it's not even career related. Maybe it's finding a life

partner. I know a couple of individuals that were in this meetup event, that was

a goal of theirs. And I think goals are great. But here's the thing, when it comes

to goals, and this is my belief. Set the goal and then throw it out the

window. Because, I don't believe looking at the goal day in and day out is going

to help you attain it any more than just wishing it's going to occur. And I

apologize in advance to any fans out there of "The Secret" but I truly believe

that for a goal to happen, you have to have a process in place. And that's what

you need to write. So is it a promotion that you want to get? Well what is it

that you're gonna need to do in the next nine months? What is it that you're going

to need to do in the next six months? What is it that you're going to need to

do in the next three months? How about within the next month?

Wow about within the next week? This is what I mean by writing the processes out.

And I believe this is what's most important. You know, one of the things

that I use is a daily planner. I use something called passion planner. I'm not

meaning to promote this. I'm not affiliated with it in anyway, but I'll leave

a link to it in the notes section below. Find something where you can list

your tasks for the next week, for the next month, for the next three months, for

whatever that goal is. Because it's a great feeling to be able to cross off

each one of those tasks. You know, I'll share something with you: This time last year, I

was at about 2000 views on YouTube, and I set a goal to reach 50,000 views by the

end of the year. Right now, its second week of December as I'm recording this

and I'm just shy of 50,000 views by probably about 1300. How did I do this?

One of the things one of those goals was I wrote out on a process weekly of what

videos that I wanted to do. And every time I created that, or finished that

video, I crossed that off. And it was a good feeling for me. But I really wasn't

following that goal of 50,000 views. I was doing the process. So, you want to get

a promotion, what is it that it's gonna take? If you want to get a new job next

year, what is it that you're going to have to do? Figure this out. Write out

these processes. List them down by the month, by the quarter, by every six months,

by the week, and stay true to those. Okay? The process. I guess before I go, I

This is why you feel the way you feel - Duration: 5:23.

In the last episode of Down the Rabbit Hole, we discussed what would happen if we had no

emotions.

In this episode, I'd like to talk about the surprising truth about how emotions are

made.

There are many theories of emotion, but I'm just going to be discussing one: the theory

of constructed emotion which was coined by Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett.

I think you'll find that this theory is interesting, unintuitive, and important; you'll

never look at emotion the same way again.

Without further hesitation, let's just keep on jumping into it.

Perhaps, the best place to start is with the brain.

The brain evolved to serve the body.

You body is full of resources that need to be balanced and kept in a healthy range.

Dr. Barrett coins a useful term here: body-budget.

Your body needs to maintain a healthy budget of these resources, so you can survive and

thrive.

Anytime there is change in your body budget, some basic feelings will arise within you

called affect.

Affect is different from emotion.

It only has two-dimensions: valence and arousal.

You can feel pleasant or unpleasant.

Aroused or unaroused; in other words, calm or agitated.

Things that impact your body budget in a positive way make you feel good.

Things that impact your body budget in a negative way make you feel bad.

Again, this is affect and not emotion.

Affect is a part of being conscious, and the reason we feel it is still a scientific mystery.

You're not born with the knowledge of how to control your body budget.

You begin learning this as a baby.

Our brains construct models of the world, based on our past experiences, that help us

regulate ourselves.

Now, here's a very important point: our models of the world are predictive — not

reactive.

Your brain is governed by prediction -> correction, not stimulus -> response.

According to Barrett and other scientists, prediction is a lot more efficient and adaptive

than reaction.

Your brain doesn't just predict what's happening in the external world — it also

predicts what's going on inside of you.

A brain should make you feel thirsty before you're completely dehydrated; it should

make you feel afraid at the ledge of the cliff, and not when you've already fallen off.

Your past experiences make up your model.

Your model is made to regulate your body budget.

Your model predicts what's going to happen in the world at every moment.

Ideally, if the prediction is wrong, then your brain will update its model.

Based on its prediction, it will modify your body budget and make you feel some affect.

Where does emotion come into this?

Your model of the world is made up of concepts or categories.

This conceptual model is incredibly flexible.

You can combine old concepts to make new concepts.

Even though I've never seen one, I can combine an alligator, with a snake, with a large bird,

with fire to imagine a new creature: a dragon.

Concepts come together based on our goals as individuals.

They are not static things.

For example, let's say that my goal was to hold down a stack of papers.

Now, I have to look for things that can be a paperweight.

Literally anything with a sufficient amount of weight can serve as a paperweight: a rock,

a vase, a computer, a person, so on and so forth.

Dr. Barrett says that emotions are goal-based concepts that we construct based on our past

experiences.

Let's say that someone cuts you off in traffic.

The emotion you construct will depend on what your brain predicts is happening outside of

you, inside of you, and what your goal is.

If you predict that someone tried to hurt you or didn't value your life, your body

budget will change, you'll feel an agitated affect, and you will honk the horn with the

goal of saying, "I MATTER!".

You've constructed the emotion of anger.

However, if you predict that the person is on their way to the hospital, your body budget

will change, you'll stay calm, and you'll slow down with the goal of letting the person

who cut you off travel effectively.

You've constructed the emotion of sympathy or empathy.

In Dr. Barrett's words, "[emotions] are a prescription for action".

Emotions are predictions about how we should act in order to achieve a goal.

These predictions are based on past experiences, and they are concepts that we construct.

There is a lot of variation in the types of emotions we can feel and how they are expressed.

Ultimately, this means that we are responsible for how we construct our conceptual model

of the world because this will control our predictions.

We'll talk about this in a future video.

You might find this idea hard to grasp at first.

It's pretty new and unintuitive.

But, this is a scientific theory with a lot of evidence to support it.

It also has important implications for society.

If you really want a more accurate and detailed understanding of the theory, I highly recommend

reading Dr. Barrett's book on the topic: How Emotions Are Made.

on stuff when you get on your trip they decide they want to buy something at the

gift shop hey you have their extra money to use in order to you know buy them

something at the gift shop instead of saying I'll babe I don't have

it right now I'm sorry baby you know mommy don't have it right now we stopped

at McDonald's we stopped there Wendy's why we was on the way and I use the

extra money no here's the deal in order to stay on budget to stay on point while

traveling you have to basically make sure that you go to the store the day

before get you some turkey like I said turkey ham chicken however cold cuts

I think the big mistake that most people make

is that they assume that there's this

cosmic

pretedermined

purpose

that is out there

We're constantly surrounded by devices

that are always catering

to our whimps

and everything that we're feeling at any moment

and in a consumer culture

The advertising.. Everything is..

Everything that we're presented with is

presented in such a way that..

It's gonna fix something

It's gonna make us feel better

that we're important,

we're special

our dreams deserve to be achieved

and I don't think any of those things

are necessarily true.

Nor should they be.

It's important

when people get kinda sucked into this,

they start feeling as

they deserve all of these things

they're hearing all the time.

Without necessarily

putting in the work or going through the pain

and struggle that is necessary.

Self-help improvement junkies feel like they need to jump on

every new seminar

read all the latest books.

Listen to all of the podcasts

Lift all the weight

Hire all the "life coaches"

For the self-help junkie

the purpose of self-improvement

is not the improvement itself

Rather it's motivated by a subtle form of F.O.M.O

or a FEAR of missing out.

The junkie has this constant 9 to 5 feeling

that there's still some magic tip

or technique or a piece of information out there

that will create their next big breakthrough.

The self-help junkie

may get to experience

the feeling of growth,

transcendence, improvement

expanding consciousness - over and over again.

But just because you feel like you move forward

doesn't mean you actually do.

And self improvement is therefore

in a weird way

ultimately, SELF-DEFEATING.

The only way one

can trully achieve one's potential

to become fully fulfilled

or to become self-actualized

whatever the f**k that means

is to stop trying to be all of those things.

A lot of times we use our

our dreams and our fantasies

as a way of kind of escaping

what we're dealing with right now.

And I think the other thing

about dreams

is that it's actually very hard for us

to know exactly what we want

So it's easy for people to dream..

and envision like some big success.

You know, we all sit around

and have these big visions for ourselves.

That feels good.

That's great.

The problem is that

what actually produces success

is our ability to enjoy

the struggle involved in it.

It's fun to fantasise

but I think it's also important

to just be honest about what dreams are.

They're fantasies.

They're fun.

But a lof of them are motivated

or they can easily be motivated by the wrong reasons.

Most of us we go through life

fantasizing about all of this amazing stuff that's gonna happen to us.

And we're taught to always chase those dreams

chase that big

great moment

And I think that's a little unrealistic

because success comes from

HARD WORK

It comes from dealing with pain and struggle

So we need to actually choose the struggles

that we enjoy, we need to choose the pain

that we enjoy enduring

Growth is not getting rid of problems.

It's simply

getting better problems.

You never get to this point where you don't have problems in your life

You just trade in

your problems for slightly better problems

Like, that's what basically growth is

The key to living a good life isn't getting rid of struggle

It's finding good struggles

Struggles that invigorate you

Struggles that... feel important to you

Struggles that can contribute to the people around you

It's a never ending thing.

-대신에 is can be used after noun, verb and adjective

You can use -대신에 immediately after a noun

But after a verb, it is same as noun that use -대신에 but it have to be used after -는

And after an adjective, it is -은/-ㄴ 대신에

Let's look at the examples that used it after noun

Then let's make a sentence with these examples

저는 우유 대신에 물을 마시고 싶어요 Instead of milk, I want to drink water

나는 의사 대신에 간호가사 필요해 I need nurse instead of doctor

Then now, let's look at how can used it with a verb

You remember 대신에 have to be used after -는, right?

So it would be -는 대신에

Here is the examples

Then let's make a sentence with these examples

밥을 먹는 대신에 빵을 먹을 거예요 Instead of eating rice, I will eat bread

Notice that in the example,

even if you are talking about something in the past or future,

you should always use the present tense -는 대신에

I'm going to tell you how it works in the sentences

In this sentence, even though it is future tense,

if you use a future tense in front of -대신에 is incorrect

So the right sentence is

You can see that even though it is future (or past) tense,

but use present tense -는 대신에, right?

This is the last one that used it with a adjective

You can use -은/-ㄴ in front of 대신에

When the last letter is ends with the consonant, attach -은

and when the last letter is ends with the vowel, attach -ㄴ

So it would be
