The Truth About Dreams - Why Even Try? - Motivational Speech and Video - Duration: 2:27.

There's a lot of talk in our culture about dreams, in particular about

achieving our dreams. Well, anyone who has had a dream of any substance has hit a

moment when they have realized that it would be difficult.

Anyone that has moved beyond wishes and hopes to action has confronted the fact

that the line between success and failure is not concrete.

That line is illusive, it's like a ghost. You can fight your whole life to realize

your dream and it is still just one step away, and when you take that step the

line and the threshold of your dreams can evaporate in front of you.

Even now across this great world thousands of people with real dreams are having those

dreams dashed in spite of their best efforts. No matter what anyone tells you,

you can do everything in your power and still fall short. Nothing is for certain

least of all locking down that line between success and failure.

So what then.

Why even try.

Should we not just give up on all of our

dreams and save our energy, our pride. It is in this moment that the perseverance

of character rises to the forefront because one thing is for certain, if you

do not try, if you do not pursue your dreams with utter abandonment, you are

guaranteed to not achieve them. Victory comes to the few, but to all who dedicate

themselves to that higher pursuit of something better, a magic happens within

that is more valuable than catching the ghost and crossing that line into the

halls of victory, and that is the deepening and strengthening of your

character. At the end of the day that is all you really own anyway.

Will I achieve my dreams?

I'm gonna go find out.

What's on my iPhone? - Early 2019 - Duration: 8:54.

hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech and it's that time of the year again to do a

what's on my iPhone for early 2019 many of you have been asking me to do this

video again and so if you've been following me for any period of time

you'll know that this is not much different than I've had for years at

this point and I probably should change it up a bit and I'll do that in the

future but the way I arrange icons is I keep everything I touch the most down

here I just deleted an app that I don't use that much so this is everything I

use the most and then everything I use secondary goes on the second page and

there's actually a third page which have to look at I'm not sure what's there so

you can see pretty straightforward from the top phone Maps photos camera basic

apps and Google Maps I use Google Maps probably more than I use Apple Maps but

I do go back and forth from time to time and notes I use notes for a lot of

things when I'm taking notes for video ideas things like that I have not found

an app that I like better because it just sinks between everything I use my

iPad and my Mac in my phone it just goes between them it's easy to

use and manage I can search it I know where it is and that's what I use it

works well I don't organize things into folders I just search for it and it

seems to work fine of course the app store settings home to manage lights

things like that so my studio lights on if I tap on its off I'm just using a

cheap managed switch or a little plug that has a switch in it that connects to

this again studio light panels same thing you'll see the light on my left

over here I can turn that off I can use Siri with it or whatever I'd like then

Amazon and a few more social media networks or folders and then news this

is what I use for news I still use heart feed for news I don't really use Apple

news I find that I use Google News more than anything if I go to here of course

I have a YouTube folder with all the things I use regularly in reminders I

find that I use reminders from Apple the most now I've used different ones to try

reminders but I just find it's the easiest to use it's kind of native to

everything I'll say set a reminder for whatever and it sets it for me I don't

have to think about it and it syncs across

smack and iPad Instagram and Twitter I use often and then Inbox unfortunately

is going away in March for some reason I think it's a ridiculous move from Google

as far as that goes so I'm trying to find something else I really don't like

the Gmail app but I like to manage that email natively in and Google app Twitter

of course pocket casts is my podcast I've used this for a long time and I go

back and forth between this and overcast if there's another one I should know

about though let me know I may try and switch all these out and see what it's

like so on my second page you'll see there's Gmail and what I kind of do is

organize everything here with stuff I probably don't want to delete or maybe I

would but I just don't want to have to reinstall and then the bottom is things

that I've more recently installed so under social you'll see there's some

social networks things I don't need to go in normally from just tapping on but

if I get a notification I can tap in it will open entertainment these I use the

most while TV but movies links accounts together so movies I would highly

recommend I use it between Google Music or Google movies rather and also iTunes

and what it does is anything I've purchased between the two I can view on

the other so it just links them together it's sort of like the movie companies

know that you've already bought it and then I can either watch it on Google

devices or I can watch it on Apple TV or my phone or whatever I have of course

there's Xbox here and Xbox is just to manage my Xbox account I use that to

play games and things Fandango Adam just movie tickets and occasionally I use

that and Google trips under photos and videos or some great photo apps procam

for taking photos you'll see I can control everything from autofocus white

balance ISO and even record in or take photos in RAW in HDR and everything like

that so if I really want to control the photo I can do it there iMovie for

editing although I never use it on the phone and light layout and then Google

Photos which I actually find I use more often now filmic Pro this has been

around for a while if you haven't used this this is great for making videos

it lets me fully control it like it was a

full cinema camera or whatever like I'm using right now you've got your your

white balance temperatures you've got your different frame rates

you've got your levels for audio all sorts of things and then you can control

it remotely if you're using an iPad or another phone with filmic remote so you

can get the shot all set up and see it with filmic remote and maybe film

yourself it works really really well food is pretty straightforward there's

just a few food apps in their nest lifx is again some more lights that I use

from time to time and then Finance I use money ways a lot the rest are just banks

so I'm not going to go into that under audio there's a couple I don't know why

DJI go is under audio I'm not really sure what that's all about left to put

that under utilities or something but SoundCloud live air traffic controller I

live in the Charlotte area in North Carolina in the area and if you go to

the airport there's actually an observation area and you can listen to

the air traffic controller now someone did recommend a different app as well

but I don't do it enough to to buy another app audible occasionally if I

want to listen to to some audiobooks and I'm on a trip or something like that

taking a long trip and SoundCloud for some music as well under utility I have

a lot of things under utility a decibel meter gyro to manage my Wi-Fi network

speed test to manage the actual network itself you see that's the last time I

measured it I have fiber and a gigabit to my house

but over Wi-Fi it will be a little bit slower depending how much stuff is on

the Wi-Fi network I actually have over 30 devices on my network so there's a

lot going on and there's probably something using it right now so but

that's fine for using an iPhone so to stream 4k video you need a steady 15

megabits per second so anything above that really is fine for me when it comes

to streaming uploading of course is where I want that extra speed I've got

some benchmarking apps Apple Store new egg things like that more amps nothing

really exciting in here that's the switch that controls my or lets us which

I've used before that will control your lights

cash app things like that patreon American I've thought of doing patreon

but YouTube now has memberships and I was thinking of doing that I'd be

curious to know if you'd subscribe if I did something like that and did a lot of

background things it's they make it a minimum of five dollars per month that's

why I haven't done it but if it's something you're interested in maybe

I'll turn that feature on and maybe do giveaways with that money or other

things I'm not sure Rove motion is for a slider that I have Turo is for renting

cars I was looking into doing some of that weather channel one password to

manage my passwords across different platforms B&H photo I use way more than

I should to look at camera gear and things like that

Monument Valley - I've completed that and I use it more for videos so I just

leave it there under extras it's pretty much all the

Apple apps that I don't use regularly on my home screens and then feedback when

you're on a beta deliveries it's quite good for tracking packages and things

like that and many of you have asked me did you buy a Tesla or are you buying a

Tesla I'm looking at buying a test I have not purchased one yet minecraft

I've used this for different videos where I compare speeds of boot-up times

and things like that and then Gmail and I hate using it but it's there also it

looks like this I need to move it was a social network someone invited me to and

I haven't used it since so so that's really it I don't have anything terribly

exciting but I am thinking of changing it up this year completely redoing what

I use and just trying something different since I'm kind of getting

bored with what I have but let me know your thoughts in the comments below if

you'd like to see more of these maybe even Android version or an iPad version

Facing Addiction Heals Marriages - Duration: 0:57.

So every marriage is different for our journey and for me I would say that

not to be the victim not to call yourself a victim - of course

embrace your wound but then move past that and and see your part in it see how

you can contribute it and then how you can contribute to moving past it it's

not the end of a marriage it doesn't have to be if both parties are willing

to put the work in if both parties are willing to grow if both parties are

willing to commit to the fact that you can have a better marriage on the other

side and you can because my marriage is better.

Tolerant and Tolerance - Duration: 11:38.

Today I want to bring up something that's

been on my mind around the issue of

tolerance. You know we are a culture that is at

odds with each other, my clients are struggling

with how to be in their own worlds with stress

and overwhelm, and a lot of the anxiety that's

happening is when we're trying to tolerate

something we don't like. Right? We've been told

that that is a good thing, try to tolerate

differences, how much chaos can you tolerate?

You know until fairly recently I thought

tolerance was a good thing. Because the opposite

sounded even worse - intolerance. Oh my gosh.

Well we all know that that just leads to

craziness. And I was in a meeting the other day

with some spiritual elders, and they that

tolerance can also be part of the problem. And

I said what do you mean? And they said because

it's still setting people up for us, and them. As

long as people are tolerating, it's kinda like

nicely gritting your teeth to all sort of put up

with what's going on, for perhaps the common good,

and on the surface it all looks good, right, you're

not fighting with your spouse, you're not fighting

with your best friend, maybe our country isn't

fighting with another. We're tolerating. And that seems

to be an admirable objective. But you know what,

all it takes is one little ember, one little

disagreement, one little thing, and poof

everything blows up. Just like it's happened on

the national stage. And we suddenly discover that

all these things that we thought were so better

than say 50-60 years ago have not gotten

better at all. Tolerant

just sort of covers things up, that as long as

people aren't complaining, and as long as people

aren't fighting, is that peace? You know and I'm

like, wow, you know I hadn't thought about that.

That this constant drumbeat for tolerance whether

it's religious or cultural or whatever, racial,

maybe that's only half of the answer. And on

some level it does seem to produce, well less

fighting, isn't that all we want? But again it's

kind of a false healing.

Because we know intolerance doesn't work right? We're

all pretty groovy on that. So the solution,

the assumption, is tolerance must be the answer.

But you'll notice all it takes is one little

disagreement one little thing and everything

blows up, and everything that we've been

tolerating whether it's in your relationship or

or things that haven't been right for a while

they get exposed. And so I guess that's a good

thing. But what would be more useful than

tolerance? I'm going to

suggest that the heavy lifting isn't just

gritting your teeth to get along and go along, it

is in understanding and accepting where someone

is when they have radically different points of

view and opinions on things!! It doesn't mean you

have to agree, it doesn't mean you don't do

anything, but there's a big difference between

accepting where someone is, and tolerating where

someone is! Because people can feel it, if there's

acceptance, that you accept me exactly the way I

am, no matter warts and all, or my behavior. It

doesn't mean you agree, it doesn't mean you don't

do anything, but I'm ok with where you're at right

now. I see you and that's ok, meaning I'm not

rushing in there to correct you, or fix you, I get

it, we can connect we don't have to agree, and I'm

not tolerating that we're breathing the same air

anymore! You know I'm not tolerating the I'm just

gonna smile to get along to go along, politeness,

it's a lot of tolerance sometimes.

And that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm not

saying tolerance is bad, I'm saying that a lot of

the things we assume are causing problems. They

need a different antidote.

So for example I do not believe that in this

culture that hate is the main problem, you know

haters gonna hate, stop the hate, how many people

do you know are marching around hating other

people? I mean like really wishing that they just

weren't there, you know maybe they exist, but you know we

just blast

them off the planet, can we just annihilate

millions of innocent people...true hatred is not

really the main problem, but we as long as we have

this drumbeat of reducing the hate, hate is gotta hate,

all this is driven by hate...it kind of sends

everybody in the wrong direction because I don't

hate, I doubt everyone of you hate, and we continue

to have all these problems, right. And then there's

the other drumbeat for tolerance, we got tolerate

each other. That's not

truly the sell that will solve problems that

have been bothering us a long time. It doesn't

work in relationships...do you really think people

in relationships are hating each other? No.

There's misunderstanding, there's last lack of

accepting radical different points of view,

there's that fight flight kicks in, how dare you

think that way, I'm already not hearing you, my fight-flight

from an energetic standpoint has

drastically limited my ability to really hear you,

I'm just waiting for you to stop talking so I can

get my word in edge wise. Or I'm gonna keep my

mouth shut and just tolerate differences.

And like I said at the start, all it takes is one

little disagreement and everything blows up.

Tolerance doesn't really work for our bigger

spiritual problems of the day. It's what we've

learned to do because we don't know any better,

and I'm looking to you guys to apply your

spiritual and personal mojo to take it a step

further. Tolerance is not the best we can hope for,

see if

go into acceptance of where someone is. You will

notice a difference feeling in your bod, and

they'll feel it to. There's gonna be less of a

combatitive, ok you know let's agree to disagree.

that kind of thing it's gonna be, oh you know I

I'm totally ok that you think that there are

martians coming down to conquer humanity. You know

I don't feel the need to change your point of

view. Now I don't agree if you're running for

office I probably won't vote for you, but I'm groovy

that that's that's where

at. That's a different energy than tolerating

somebody who has a different point, of view how

you should be, how other people should be, that

very few people are crossing at the mouth truly

hating. So like I said this constant thing about

we gotta stop the hate, I don't know very many

people who are truly hating anyone. There is a

lack of understanding at a human level. There's

fear. There's big duress.

That's not the same as hate. It's got a

different vibration, ok. So if we could perhaps

steer the conversation, because this is the heavy

lifting, this is where we need more people to

stand up, you know rise to the occasion, instead of

disappearing off into their own little enclaves,

of being with people that are more like I me

myself, and tolerating everybody else. This is not

easy. It's not eating easy on a personal level, you

know when you're with people or relationships, people

have different points of view, and you feel like I

got to tolerate, because I know intolerance will blow

things up. Yes, intolerance will cause problems.

Tolerance also, it's not the complete story

because all it takes is one little thing and blow

up again. No real progress was made but everyone

just gritting their teeth and smiling politely. It

doesn't feel good. It takes energy to tolerate, cuz

I'm just sort of, now there are times yes

tolerance is useful, and there are times if you

wanna be part of a solution, can you really here

where someone is coming at? We all have blind

spots, that's doesn't mean we're frothing at the

mouth of hating other people. And if I don't agree

with you on something it doesn't mean I'm hating

you or other people. So this is just food for

thought on this lovely Friday. Beyond tolerance,

there is something more than just tolerating, and

you know if you look at planet Earth, I don't

believe...someone told me me that in the entire history of

human kind, we haven't even gotten a 100 years

on planet Earth where there wasn't some sort of

war somewhere. So this is not an easy thing. Nobody

hates and likes to go to war...you know it's

not that we're stupid, we have not mastered the

art of truly understanding each other, personally

you know, with our neighbors, or even the HOA,

or our school systems.

I mean it's no wonder, and everyone is...we are in a

very diverse culture, and we do need to find some

sort of utility mechanism to make this whole

thing go. Tolerance is one of the tools. It's not the

only one. It's not the one that truly lasts. It's

not the one that truly elevates humanity. And a

lot of very loving people think they are very

tolerant, but they've got big blind spots

when sitting with people who feel radically

different you know, and on both sides. And you know

we can't advance until there's some of these difficult

conversations. Can we do that without blowing up?

Aan we do that without the fear fight-flight

anxiety flashing off...oh my God this person is so

negative I got to go clear my aura...we need strong

medicine people, if not you, if not you who has

been on the spiritual path, doing all this

meditation, all this higher consciousness work, who?

So just kick around the idea that perhaps

the solution to a lot of these problems in your

personal life, and the culture at large,

go beyond tolerance. It doesn't mean going into

intolerance, it means there's something more than

just grinning and bearing it to get along. Ok? And

you can still choose who you wanna hang out with,

yes. But there's no longer the energy spent in

putting up with people, as much as oh gosh you

know we feel very differently, and it's alright...

OK? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I

know it's a little bit edgy, and peace, thanks. Adele Wang. www.safehavenhealing.net

Farabel Review | Turn-based Time Travel that Works - Duration: 4:42.

Today's video is about Farabel, a turn-based strategy game with a time-travel twist.

If this is your first time on my channel, Good mornin-afternoo-vening, I'm StefaNonsense

and gaming and geek culture is what I do.

If you're already a subscriber, welcome back!

The first thing that really jumps at you in Farabel is the blocky and minimalistic art

style.

I would've liked it to be maybe just a little bit more detailed but it does its job well

enough.

It is a hex-grid turn based strategy game in which you control a given number of units

and have to usually eliminate the enemy's given number of units.

A couple of particularities, you have two units that have to always survive each mission,

King Cendor and his Queen, Oh yeah, and they travel through time, not just as part of the

story.

The time travel aspect is used both as part of the story in the campaign as well as an

in-game mechanic.

Yes you heard me, let me unpack it for you.

The story is being told back to front.

So how does that work?

Well, due to the inherent weirdness of going back in time, and to the fact that the exact

mechanism behind these time traveling spells isn't detailed, your main two characters

are revisiting each mission in the campaign in reverse order, starting with what would

normally be the last mission.

That's not where the time travel story aspect ends, because you see, you're going back

in time which means that your characters lose levels after each mission, instead of gaining

them.

So Farabel puts you in the rather unique position of you having to downgrade your character

between missions.

You're literally level downing.

HA!

So as a developer, once you're on the time-travel path, you can't have just these things be

your only time travel nuance in the game.

I mean you could but it would've made the rest of the game just your run-of-the-mill

turn based tactics game.

Combined with the not very flashy graphics, it wouldn't be enough to set it apart.

So that's where the in-game time traveling mechanic comes into play.

The main character, Cendor, Lord of Farabel, has a time travel ability which he can cast

on any unit other than himself.

What it does, is it returns that unit to its immediately previous location and/or status.

The rub is the fact that whatever damage the unit dealt before the time travel ability

is used, doesn't get erased.

The great thing with this particularity of Farabel's time travel mechanics is that

the ability can pull double duty.

On the one hand, you can use it to basically deal double damage with the same unit.

Your turn comes, you deal some damage with a unit, the unit cannot attack anymore.

You use the ability, the unit can attack again.

Seems pretty cut and dry, depending then on the battlefield you can use this second attack

either on the same enemy or on a different one.

On the other hand, you can use the ability as a very powerful healing ability.

For instance, a unit gets hit two or maybe three times in the same turn and it still

survives.

It is extremely low on health, normally you'd most likely lose it next turn.

But if you use the time travel ability, you'll return the unit to its previous state of health,

basically regenerating all of the damage it just received.

And the same applies to one-use abilities that units have.

In some circumstances you can regenerate lost health, ability use and attacks to a unit,

making this time travel ability potentially very powerful.

You are limited to using it only three times per mission though.

The Queen character has a very useful AoE healing ability which also gets less effective

as you reverse-advance through the story.

I am quite happy to report that the missions are rather varied and your success will heavily

depend on you learning how to use these super special abilities, as well as each unit's

unique characteristics, at the right time.

The game also comes loaded with a bunch of other play modes - there's Challenge Mode

- where you get a new challenge every day.

There's a Classic mode in which you just fight against an enemy, but there's also

Defence Mode in which you take on an endless army of invaders, your goal being to survive

for as long as possible and kill as many enemies as you can..

The game also has day and night maps, with night-time basically hiding units from view

up to a certain distance.

Farabel is a surprisingly fresh take on turn based strategy mechanics, with a tongue-in-cheek

approach to its writing and a minimalistic art direction, as well as a bunch of other

modes to try out, you should definitely give it a look and maybe pick it up when it's

on sale if you want to try your hand at some lighter hearted turn-based combat.

Does Farabel look and sound like something that you'd be interested in?

Let me know in the comments what's your favorite turn-based tactics game.

Thank you very much for watching, be kind, subscribe, and I'll seeya next time.

¡Fichines en tu TV de tubo! - Tutorial de GroovyMAME - Duration: 16:29.

If you have ever dreamed of playing Arcade games on your CRT TV as if it were a retro console,

and that they look like this,

like this

and like this,

stay tuned, this video is for you!

Hi everybody, welcome to the "Retrocidad" Channel, I'm Mendion

and today, we are going to see how to play Arcade games in a consumer CRT TV

instead of using a PC monitor.

To achieve that, we are going to use a special version of MAME, called GroovyMAME.

And what is the special thing about GroovyMAME?

GroovyMAME was created to be used on CRT tubes.

That includes consumer CRT TV's like this one,

Broadcast monitors, like Sony's PVM's, and, also, arcade monitors.

The special thing about GroovyMAME is it generates resolutions and sync timings

on the fly, when executing the game.

The result of this is that every game runs in it's native resolution (or in a similar one)

and also in it's native sync frequency,

achieving that every game gets it's original aspect ratio and a super smooth scrolling.

GroovyMAME also takes advantage of special drivers we are going to install on the PC we are going to use

that output the generated image on a 15 Khz. frequency.

This 15 Khz. frequency is the same one that every retro console outputs

and also, it's same one on what the CRT tubes works.

Now, let's talk about what we need to build a GroovyMAME system.

Basically, we need 2 things:

On one hand, we need an ATI or AMD video card

because the drivers we are going to use on the GroovyMAME system

were designed for Radeon cards only.

I'm putting a link on the video's description to the official GroovyMAME site

so you can know exactly which video card models are compatible.

In my case, I will use a Radeon HD 4670 card.

The second thing we need is a special cable, that goes from the VGA output of the video card

to the RGB input of the CRT tube we are going to use.

It is worth mentioning that the CRT tube we will use must accept RGB as an input.

In my case that I'll be using a consumer CRT TV that doesn't have an RGB input,

what I'm doing is converting the RGB signal to component video

and then, that signal, goes to the component video input this TV has.

You can go and watch the video where I explain everything about my setup by clicking here

I'm putting, also, the link to a page that has several schematics on how to build this cable.

Let's do it!

We are going to see a complete tutorial on how to configure and prepare a system with GroovyMAME.

We start with a clean Windows install and without any driver installed.

In my case, I installed Windows 10.

I recommend to not install any update and, if possible, leave the Windows Update service disabled.

If we installed Windows 10, we have to disable the "Game Bar".

To do that, we press the "Windows" key + "G" on the keyboard.

We go to the bar configuration,

we uncheck "Show tips when I start a game"

and then, pressing this button, we are going to disable completely the "Game Bar"

changing to "off" where it says "Record game clips, screenshots" etc. etc.

Now, we are going to deactivate the "User Account Control".

We go to the "User Account Control" on the Control Panel,

and here, we slide down to deactivate it.

We confirm with "OK" and then "Yes" on the popup.

Let's open a Windows Explorer.

We go to the "View" menu and check "File name extensions"

We install "WinRAR", which we are going to need to unpack several files throughout all the installation.

Now, let's download a regular version of MAME.

In this case, I downloaded the 202 version because I have the roms for that version.

We run the downloaded .EXE

and extract it on C:\MAME

Ok, now we go to the MAME folder we just created,

and we rename "mame64.exe" to any other different name.

Now, we are going to download "GroovyMAME"

The GroovyMAME version must be exactly the same version as the regular MAME we downloaded before.

We open the downloaded .7z file,

go inside the folder that is shown,

select ALL that is shown here

and click "Extract to".

Here, we point to the folder where the regular MAME is, which is C:\MAME.

When it prompt us if we want to replace the file, we click "Yes to all".

Let's go back to the MAME folder.

We go to the file "mame64.exe, which now is the GroovyMAME executable

and we open it's properties.

We go to the "Compatibility" tab and we check "Run this program as an administrator"

We click "OK".

Now, let's open a command prompt.

We press on the keyboard, the "Windows" key + "R"

we type "cmd" and hit ENTER

We go to the MAME folder

and we run "mame64 -cc"

When going back to the MAME folder,

we can see that a new file was created, called "mame.ini".

Let's download the modified video card driver, called "CRT Emudriver"

Depending on which video card we have

we have to download different CRT Emudriver versions and by that, the installation process can vary slightly.

In this case, I'm going to show how to configure everything

for ATI video cards of the HD 4000 series or older.

We run the downloaded .EXE and unpack it on C:\

We go to the C: drive and we can see that a new folder was created called "CRT Emudriver"

let's rename it for something easier,

we are going to change it to "VMMAKER".

We go inside the "VMMAKER" folder and run "setup.exe"

We can see a compatible card was found. We click "Install driver".

Here, the program inform us it is going to enable the "Test Mode" of Windows 10

to be able to install driver. We accept by clicking "OK".

And here, it is telling us we have to reboot the system. We click "OK" again.

We ignore this error, it is always popping up on the last versions of CRT Emudriver.

We reboot the system.

After rebooting, we can see when entering Windows a notice saying that we are now on "Test Mode"

We run "setup.exe" again, which is located on the VMMAKER folder.

We click "Install driver" again.

We simply click "OK" to this new warning.

After that, the driver installation will begin.

The screen will flicker. We have to be patient and wait.

If everything went well, this message will pop up telling us the driver was successfully installed.

We exit the driver installer.

Now, let's run "vmmaker.exe".

This program is the one that will create and install every resolution GroovyMAME needs to run

We go to "Edit settings"

In "Monitor settings - Type" we can set which type of CRT tube we are going to use.

In this case, we are going to use a consumer CRT TV, so, we select "Generic".

On the "Video Card" tab, we do not change anything.

On the "User modes" tab, we click on "Browse"

and we select "user_modes - super.ini".

Lastly, on the "MAME" tab, we click on "Browse"

and select where the GroovyMAME executable is located, that is "mame64.exe" on C:\MAME.

Then, we check 3 things:

"Export monitor setting to GroovyMAME",

"Get video modes from MAME XML"

and "Generate XML from MAME executable".

We accept all this by clicking "OK".

Now, we are going to generate the resolutions. We click on "Generate modes"

This window will open.

This process can take some time, depending on the PC we have. We have to be patient and wait.

After a while, we will see it will begin to find modes.

The process ends when the list of the generated resolutions is shown.

If everything went well, VMMAKER should have created 120 resolutions.

We proceed to install it on our video driver by clicking on "Install modes".

After hitting "OK", the screen will flicker and there is a chance the PC will freeze for a while.

This is completely normal. We have to wait.

If we receive the "Success" message, everything ran perfectly.

It's time to shut down the PC and connect it to our CRT tube.

We turn on the PC WITHOUT turning on the CRT tube,

due to any signal the PC outputs outside of Windows

will be on a not supported frequency, and that may harm our tube

We will wait until Windows boots up and then yes, we turn on our CRT tube.

When doing it, we should already have signal.

When turning on the tube, we can see the mouse pointer is not there.

That is because the driver, when configuring everything for the first time, it creates two monitors,

and, at this moment, we are using Windows extended in two monitors.

The CRT tube we are using would be the monitor that is on the right side.

So, we move the mouse to the right and we will see our mouse pointer shows up on screen.

Now, we have to go to the display settings.

We do a right click on the desktop and open "Display Settings."

The display settings will open, but we are not going to see the window on our monitor.

That is because our monitor is not the main one.

The window have opened on the left monitor.

To move the window to our display, after opening "Display settings"

we press on the keyboard the "Windows" key + "SHIFT" + "→" (right arrow) at the same time.

We are going to see instantly the window will show up on our display.

We click "Identify" to make sure which display number is ours.

We select the number of our display.

We go down and check "Make this my main display".

Then, on "Multiple displays", we select "Show only on 2"

We click on "Keep changes".

And, lastly, we change the display resolution to a more standard one

of a 4:3 aspect ratio, like 640x480.

We click on "Keep changes" again.

And that's all!

Let's try now some games to see how they run on GroovyMAME.

Let's open GroovyMAME.

We search for a game we already have. For example, in this case, let's run "Wonder Boy".

And, when running it, this screen is shown, saying

the original game's resolution is 512x224 at 60.09 Hz.

GroovyMAME is going to run it on the most similar resolution it has available

In this case, it found a resolution of 512x240 at 60.09 Hz.

Almost the same.

Already into the game, we can see that everything is shown as it should be.

The aspect ratio is the correct one and the scrolling is super smooth.

Here we have another example, in this case, "Ghost 'n Goblins".

As we can see, the original game's resolution is 256x224 at 59.59 Hz.

and GroovyMAME found a resolution of 256x240 at 59.59 Hz.

Well! I hope after watching the tutorial you now want to build your own system with GroovyMAME.

As you can see, being able to have a MAME working on a CRT tube has a tremendous potential.

It can be used on arcade cabinets or in your own home with a consumer CRT TV and arcade like controllers,

and then, you can install a frontend like "HyperSpin", "Maximus Arcade", etc.

And that's all!
