Waching daily Sep 27 2018

It all starts at the question, what do you even learn in library school? My name is Peter and this is stacks and facts.

[intro music]

So I figured it was about time I made this video because y'all keep asking for it,

But the short answer is that no two MLIS degrees

look the same! And the reason for that is that, in the United States and Canada most places that hire librarians require that

you are a graduate of a program that has been accredited by the American Library Association, or the ALA, and

the accreditation process that the ALA provides to make sure that all MLIS programs are fairly consistent

provides a lot of flexibility, but it's also quite rigorous.

So I'm not gonna read through the entire accreditation process, but I will read six... that's four. Six...

(We're gonna pretend I have six fingers) requirements that they list specifically for coursework. Okay?

Okay.

But aside from that, go wild.

The way that most schools handle these requirements is that they will, basically,

have a core set of courses that address

these requirements in them and you will usually do those in the first term of your studies, and then they will sprinkle

-- that is to say, the schools -- will sprinkle things that match these requirements throughout other courses that the program offers that you will take later on.

But really outside of that core set of courses, It's up to you what your program looks like.

Which I think is pretty rad because no two librarians are going to have the same requirements,

necessarily. But if you want to know what an MLIS *can* look like, here's every class that I took, and a take-away from each, in

twenty seconds or less.

Not... not all of them. That would be like what?

1.2 seconds per class. That's not gonna... that's not gonna happen. Ok, let's let's just get to it.

[in a cowboy accent] Well Karl, you know

It's like they say: "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it double check

It sources and question its preconceived notions of what's right and wrong if the answers aren't easy enough to get to in the first place!"

Or or something.

I think that's how it goes...

Ethics Review Board, wait, what even is ethics? Is that even a thing in information science?

I don't think that's a thing. Does it count if there's no blood?

I don't think there's gonna be blood

Well, it should be fine, the experiment's gonna be fine, they should be fine.

Psychological harm ... Oh. OH. Psych--

[laden with dread]

It's not fine.

It's not fine at all!

Ok, so,

So I put the comma after the first name

Ok, and then I capitalized the first letter of the last name

But if there's more than one author than I have to determine which one gets listed first based on whoever had more

More pets before the age of 18? What? Unless their pets were invertebrates, in which case I should see section

10.2.2.2...

point a?

Wait, is is this is this RDA or is this AACR2?

MARC!

[seductively] Hey there, you uh, you want to see my Gantt chart?

[very unseductively] Yeah, no, it's it's pretty great,

I think I was able to divvy up the work so that no single

person is a point of failure,

And I think the timing should be good! So we don't have to worry about going over budget. Yeah, no! It's purple!

Oh hello there, I was wondering if you had a moment to spare to talk about design heuristics

Have you heard the good word from our Lord and Savior, Jakob Nielsen? Here, let me just leave this with you.

Alright and then this should be the last thing...

And... execute!

[deadpan] Perfect.

Alright, and as you can see we are slowly killing our planet and giving up any sense of privacy

we might enjoy so that we can afford to buy these machines, that have been designed to draw our attention from otherwise useful things.

Because capitalism. All right. Thanks for coming to my TED talk, any questions?

Yeah you in the red with the hammer, and then you with the sickle.

Wait wait, so what you're saying, is that by having overdue fines,

we're actually keeping people affected by poverty from coming to the library in the first place?

EVEN THOUGH they're the folks who could use our services the most? And we don't actually get significant amount from fines anyways?

Okay, so then...

Why do we have fines?

Hello fellow, youths I also am young like you! Would you like to see some dank memes?

behold

Okay, but like those are some pretty dank memes. Like, seriously.

No, I get that we're designing Tinder for dogs

But like, just because the focus group says that we should only have pictures of tennis balls and bones...

I don't think that's a good idea.

Yeah, no, it's it's absurd. No-- butts is fine! I told you before, butts is fine, but tennis balls? don't be ridiculous!

[incredulous] Can you believe this guy?

Tennis balls?

Now I know you thought your library's databases looked good before but just wait till you see ...

The SQL.

When it comes to government corruption, I guess what they say is true! Sometimes sunlight *is* the best disinfectant!

[the sound of furious "typing" but lets be real, I'm just tapping keys]

[offscreen] Peter we get that you really like YouTube, but we did a survey and aside from you and 343 people named Katherine

(which we're not gonna get into right now),

No one else wants an entire row just for books and movies by John Green.

No, and that's that's totally fine. Because his brother Hank actually just released a book too. Besides. Look I made a Gantt chart!!

[spooky whispering] If you build it, and add robust metadata,

develop consistent and appropriate digitization standards,

and secure funding, they will come. Maybe.

What?!

Wait, so you mean to tell me I can study whatever the heck I want for an entire term as long as I can just

find a faculty member to sign off on it?!

[guffaw] Well, let me tell you a thing about YouTube!

So that's what my MLIS looks like! But it's probably gonna be a little bit heavier on tech than most people's, just because that's

what my background is in.

Now if you want to know more about these courses that I mentioned, check out the links in the dooblydoo --

I put links to the actual descriptions from the school. They are

Actually really good classes. I really enjoyed all of them.

So, have a look! If you'd like to learn more about what I was looking for when I was looking for MLIS programs to apply to

or if you want to understand a little bit more about the sticky ethics of requiring a master's degree to become a librarian or

if you want to know what accreditation looks like a little bit in more in-depth,

Subscribe by clicking the button down there? Yeah, still there.

Yeah, it's still there and click the bell to get notifications whenever I upload a new video, which is about twice a week.

Anyways, that's all I've got. So as always, thank you for watching -- and until next time, don't forget to ask questions. Okay. bye!

Best Day Ever! - Create a unique memory every year with your kids! - Duration: 3:56.

Hey guys welcome back to my channel, where we talk life, food, family and fun

Today we are talking family, and we are doing a family tip

that will bring your family closer,

make amazing memories

with you and your kids, Once you try thiss once,

you will never go back, i promise you!

Want to know what it is? Stay tuned and let's do this!

Ok, so my husband and i both took a three-year course

called The Masters Program

And it is an amazing discipleship program

I absolutely love it. So much so that

my husband actually teaches it now where we live. And one of the things

that we learned in this course,

how to connect with your kids on a deeper level and

make amazing memories with them. And what it's called is

The Best Day. And what you do is

You tell your kids, either give it to them

on Christmas or on their birthday or just randomly. You walk up to your kids

and hand them a certificate for a best day.

And the way that that works, is they actually get to choose

What they would want to do

in a best day. This is one day. So it has to be

something that you can accomplish in one day. I mean it can't be

"I am going to go to Italy." But it's one thing

that they would want to do with you all day long.

And it will take all day. And you let them actually

decide. So you give them some time

on what they would want to do and then

they come back and tell you, and then you sit down on the calendar and

pick a day that you are going to make this happen,

plan it and make it happen and do that.

We have done this with our kids, My husband has done this with all four

of our kids, Every year for several years now

and they have picked something different every time.

For instance, our oldest picked

paddle boarding on Balboa Island,

one of them picked going to Disneyland,

Because we lived in southern California, going to Disneyland

One of them picked boar hunting, which they did,

One of them picked fishing, it's something different

every year. But the kids look so forward

to having this best day

and we take lots of pictures and video, and record those experiences

where they actually get to choose it.

every single year. It has just brought so many memories

so many cherished times and

and they feel so involved because

even down to when our youngest was 4 and he was choosing

"i want to go to Disneyland" or whatever

He was like "when is the best day?" "When is the best day?" He was

so so excited about it. So my challenge to you is

with your kids, make a best day.

Go and ask them what they want to do, plan it out

and then do it. And I guarantee you if you guys

do this once, you'll want to do it

every year of their lives until they move out. And even actually

after they move out, we still kind of do it sometimes.

It's just so amazing.

those experiences, they are priceless. And another

thing that is so great about it is that they get the one on one time

So if you have more than one child, a lot of times we are doing everything as a family

together, which is great, but having that one on one time

where you can just talk with them

all day long, it's all about just being with you and them

it so so important and this is a great way to do that.

So short, quick video today

but I hope this inspires you to have a

best day with your kids and let them decide

You will not regret it, they will not regret it, you will love this!

I guarantee it!

So if you like this video, give it a thumbs up and leave me a comment on one of your favorite parenting tips

and don't forget to subscribe for more videos like this one

which i post every Tuesday and Thursday.

Otherwise, i hope you are having a great day. Stay inspired

and I will see you in the next video!

Go have a best day! See ya ladies!

How To Post On Facebook Business Page From Instagram - Duration: 6:04.

In this video I'm going to show you how to post on a Facebook Business Page from

Instagram which saves you a little time. Let's get into it

Hello busy people! Welcome to Five Minute Social Media. If you've had "figure out my

social media" on your to do list forever but you're overwhelmed, you don't know

where to start, it just keeps getting shoved down the list, you're in a great

place. Every week we put out a quick video to help you with a different piece

of your digital marketing strategy, all while trying to save you time. We are all

way too busy to be wasting our time that we have allotted of for social media. So if

that sounds like something you could benefit from, go ahead and hit Subscribe

click that bell so you'll be notified when a new video comes out. My name is

Jerry Potter and today we're talking about saving time by posting to your

Facebook Business Page from Instagram. First of all let me say posting natively

on each platform really is the best possible practice. Just because you put

something on Instagram doesn't mean it's good content for Facebook. Ultimately it

comes down to this: when you're posting on Instagram, before you just

automatically share to Facebook, really think, like, "how's this gonna look on

Facebook? Is this gonna be a good piece of Facebook content? If the answer is no

then just don't bother. Sometimes it's great though and let me show you exactly

how to share to your Facebook Business Page from Instagram. Now I want to

clarify up front I'm doing this on an iPhone but it's very similar on Android

phones. And also I'm doing this from an Instagram business profile to an

Facebook business page so I'm gonna start on my profile and I'm gonna tap

the three lines in the upper right hand corner (it's actually called a hamburger

menu cause it's supposed to look like a hamburger I guess) and then at the bottom

I'm gonna click Settings. And then in my settings I'm gonna scroll down until I

get to "Linked Accounts." Click on that and - my page has been previously selected so

that's why it already shows my name here on the right but if you have nothing

there or if you want to change the page, anything like that, if it's actually

connected it'll be lit up in blue as you'll see when we're done. So I click on

Jerry Potter there on Facebook rather. It says "Instagram wants to use facebook.com

to sign in." I say yes go ahead, I hit continue. Now it gives me a choice to do

it through the Facebook app or through a browser. Because

I'm doing this on my own phone and the account logged into the Facebook app is

the admin account for the Facebook page, I can go ahead and do the Facebook app

like that. So I tap that one - it'll say can they open this in the Facebook app

and again, this might be slightly different on Android and of course you

do have to be an admin on the page you are trying to post to. I can't just be

like, Yeah I want my Instagram to post to Kylie Jenner's page or McDonald's

Another pop-up here - you previously logged in, continue? Yes. If you hadn't

then you'd have to log in with your information. And now you can see it says

Facebook and it has my name and it's lit up in blue. That shows that it's now

connected to my page. If I tap in I've got a few options here. It shows me where

I'm sharing. It also allows me to share my story to Facebook if I want to - that's

what that switch is - if I want to share my posts automatically to Facebook so

everything you put on Instagram automatically goes to Facebook, that's

where that is. And then if I want to unlink I tap that button there at the

bottom. If you are doing this from a personal Instagram account your screen

might look slightly different. So if I go in here from a personal Instagram

account I have you can see it says Share to Facebook profile I tap on that now my

profile is at the top and then all of the Facebook pages that I am an admin for

come up underneath. So if you are doing it from a personal profile you'll see it

that way. If you're doing it from a business profile it's just going to show

you businesses that you can connect to and again of course you have to be an

admin on the Facebook page to do that. Now real quick before I show you how to

share the actual posts from Instagram to your Facebook business page I want to

show you how to set this up from the other side from your Facebook business

page. So if you're on your page click Settings on the upper right here and

then in your settings on the menu on the left you'll see Instagram, click on that

Now this, in all of my experience, is the most foolproof way and probably the way

that Facebook prefers to connect your Facebook business page to your Instagram

business profile. So once I clicked on that Instagram there I'm gonna say login

Type in your username and password for Instagram and hit login and it will

automatically connect your Instagram business profile to your business page

here on Facebook. The neat thing is then you can

you can edit your page from here among other things, and if you ever wanted to

run ads or anything like that you will have to do that

Alright so to share straight to your Facebook business page from Instagram

you create a post just like normal. Get everything set up the way you wanted it

and then down here at the bottom you can see different places where you can share

For Facebook you'll see it shows my business page name so that's how I know

it's going to the right place. Once I've got that up I go ahead and hit share so

it's on Instagram there and then if we pop over to Facebook and ... there it is

Let's say you forgot to hit that button before sharing or you have an older post

that you want to share on your Facebook page, now all you have to do is go to

that post, tap the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and then hit

Share and it'll give you those same options. And all you have to do is make

sure that the Facebook button is turned on and then hit share at the top and it

will show up on your Facebook page. I'm curious do you post the same content to

all of your social networks? I see that with businesses a lot. I do it sometimes.

Let me know down in the comments, yes or no, and I'll share kind of what I do as

well. I'd love to talk to you in the comments of this video. Thank you so much

Tonight's episode is called "Forbidden Fruit", episode 4 is titled "Could It Be … Satan?" and the 5th episode of the new season is "Boy Wonder." According to Inverse, AHS: Coven characters may enter on episode 3.

A Reddit user named GrumpySatan's theory is that, "At the end of the episode the perimeter alarm is going to go off and Mallory, Dina and Coco are going to take Michael's death pills and die thinking they are being overrun by monsters.

Last scene is the witches entering the facility.

This leads to that screenshot of Cordelia over the three which will be the next episode.

Cordelia will resurrect them.".

Uproxx reports that on tonight's episode, the characters celebrate All Hallow's Eve, so that would be the perfect opportunity for the Coven members to appear.

The official synopsis of tonight's episode states that, "The residents of Outpost 3 gear up to celebrate All Hallows' Eve, a magical time filled with thinly-veiled threats and nightmare-inducing snake images.

Someone's definitely dying tonight, but even more terrifying, Michael Langdon is ready to reveal his plans for the new world order." Fans will have to wait and see when their beloved Coven characters come into this season's storyline.

As many know, season 8 of American Horror Story is a cross-over season, mixed with AHS: Murder House and AHS: Coven.

In AHS season 8, actor Cody Fern plays the role of an adult Michael Langdon.

In Murder House, Michael was the baby Vivien (played by Connie Britton) gave birth to before she died almost immediately after Michael was delivered.

Vivien had been raped by Tate (played by Evan Peters), who was haunting Vivien's home.

Tate's mother (played by Jessica Lange) ended up adopting the baby, who killed his babysitter on the finale of Murder House.

Evan Peters, who plays the role of Mr Gallant, on the show this season, will also reprise his role as Tate.

Star Sarah Paulson, who plays Ms.

Venable, will also be reprising previous roles, as well a couple other cast members.

Tune in to watch American Horror Story: Apocalypse on Wednesday nights, at 10 p.m.

ET/PT and 9 p.m. CT, on the FX network.

You never know who might turn up on the show … or who might die … Showrunners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk never hold back, so, beware ….

Wike 'Warns' PDP Leaders: If You Dare Move Convention Out Of PH, We Will Teach You A Lesson - Duration: 4:33.

Wike 'Warns' PDP Leaders: If You Dare Move Convention Out Of PH, We Will Teach You A Lesson

Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, has declared that there will be consequences if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) moves the party's national convention away from Port Harcourt.

He further declared that the state would teach the party a "bitter lesson" if it is not giving the hosting right as agreed by the PDP leadership, saying that "no presidential aspirant can use and dump Rivers State".

Speaking during a consultative visit by the Gombe State Governor and PDP presidential aspirant, Dr Ibrahim Dankwambo, at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Wike said at the party's national meeting, no presidential aspirant opposed Port Harcourt as the venue.

He said: "Let me warn the party. If you dare, Rivers State will teach the party a lesson.  Those days have passed when they took Rivers State for granted. Nobody can use and dump Rivers State.

"No presidential aspirant can use and dump Rivers State. We never lobbied for it; we never asked for it, but it will boost the economy of the state. People will make money.

Those who are against Rivers people making money to improve their businesses will not get our support.". The Governor said whether the national convention holds in Jigawa or Adamawa, the winner preferred by the delegates would emerge.

"I don't know why anyone who wants to be President will be afraid of a venue; then you are not prepared for the election," Wike added.

"Nobody should dare Rivers State any longer. PDP should know that we are not a punching bag.

We are not a people you can use and push. We are not harlots — whenever you want, you come; when you finish, you push us aside.

"We will retaliate at the appropriate time. When you go, tell your colleagues, the presidential aspirants. We were not interested, but having given it to us you cannot insult us.".

The governor pointed out that there are persons who were not interested in really contesting elections, but bought forms simply because the party's ticket is zoned to the North.

He said: "You come here to deceive us about restructuring. Just that Rivers State is a venue, you fight it.

Then, when you are there, what will happen? You think we are fools when you preach restructuring, then when you get the position, you abandon restructuring.".

Wike said at the appropriate time, he would reveal the names of presidential aspirants working with the  All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government to scuttle the PDP presidential primary.

He added that no presidential aspirant would be allowed to use a few members of the PDP Board of Trustees to scuttle the decision of the party to host the presidential primary in Port Harcourt.

Describing Dankwambo as eminently qualified to contest for the party's ticket, he said Dankwambo would be considered when Rivers delegates meet to decide on whom to support.

Wjile speaking, Dankwambo called on Rivers PDP delegates to support his aspiration, stating that he has the capacity to set the  country on the  path  of growth.

Noting that the crisis of development suffered by the country is a result of leadership vacuum at the federal level, he said he has the training, exposure and experience to lead the country in the right direction, and urged Nigerians not to make the error of 2015 when they chose promises ahead of performance.

He also expressed his determination to support whoever emerges as the PDP presidential candidate.

The showrunner, Derek Haas, revealed that, "We're going to move about two months into the future from when the finale took place.

This one we're time jumping before the episode starts.".

Episode 1 of the new season is titled "A Closer Eye" and the plot description of the premiere episode states, "Reeling from Dawson's continued absence, Casey makes a rash move during a rescue, while Brett struggles with a series of replacement partners; meanwhile, Boden faces scrutiny from Commissioner Grissom, who sends his deputy to monitor Firehouse 51.

that a smart Chatbot strategy is helping them

differentiate themselves from their competition

and rise above all the noise online right now.

In this video, I'm gonna share with you

six ways online course sellers are currently using a Chatbot

to market their products even better.

If we haven't met yet already,

I'm Heather Terveen of Heatherterveen.com

and host of the Messenger Boss community on Facebook.

I help online entrepreneurs increase their income

and impact with messenger marketing.

Number one, online course sellers are using a Chatbot

to increase engagement on their prelaunch content.

So whether they have a podcast, a YouTube channel,

a blog, or they are consistently going live

on their Facebook page, or they're using Instagram stories,

IGTV, no matter what it is, they are using a Chatbot

to help increase the eyes that are going

to see their prelaunch content.

And the reason why Chatbot works so well for this

is because the reach is so incredibly great.

So if we were to compare the reach, say, to your email list,

and by reach I mean how many of your subscribers

are actually going to see your messages.

So for the email, about 15 to 20%, if you have

an engaged email list, are actually going

to see your email messages.

On your social media posts, it can be as low as 1%

and maybe goes up a little bit from there,

but organic reach on your social posts

are really pathetic right now.

On messenger, right now reach is 80 to 90%.

So that means if you have 100 messenger subscribers,

80 to 90 of those subscribers

are actually going to see your messages.

So when you are putting out awesome pre-launch content,

you are going to get more engagement

and more eyeballs connecting with that content

before your launches.

Number two: boost organic engagement

on your Facebook Live broadcast by connecting ManyChat,

which is my Facebook Messenger bot software of choice,

Comment To Message growth tool

to your Facebook Live broadcast.

If you're unsure on how to do this, you can hop on over

and watch my tutorial on how to connect a Facebook Live

to the Comment To Message growth tool,

but suffice to say this growth tool turns any Facebook post,

and in this case I'm recommending a Facebook Live broadcast,

into a way to collect subscribers to your Chatbot.

Anybody who comments on this post

will become a subscriber to your bot, and not only that,

but you're encouraging organic engagement on that post

and so naturally that post is going to get boosted

into the algorithm as well.

Number three: use a Chatbot as a concierge

for your next three, four, five day challenge

that you are doing pre-launch.

A Chatbot, because of the amazing organic reach

that I already told you about, plus the fact that,

likely, the participants in your challenge

are already hanging out on Facebook,

Facebook messenger is a great way to sort of

hand-hold them through all the different elements

in your five-day challenge.

Whether that's letting them know that you're about to go

do a live broadcast, or you know, letting them know

of an important topic or question that

has happened inside of your Facebook group,

no matter what it is, a Chatbot is a great way

to use as a concierge so that you

get increased participation in your next challenge.

Number four: increase the Show Up Rate

for your Live Webinars.

Not only because the reach is better than email

on messenger, but also because people are likely going

to get the Facebook message in a more timely fashion,

I can promise you that, with my clients,

when we incorporate a Chatbot as a reminder

for their live Webinars, we always

increase the Show Up Rate.

Number five: encourage micro-commitments,

and also segment your followers, by using a quiz

or a survey in your Chatbot.

Here I'm going to give you an example

of my client, Tammy, of cannononlinemarketing.com.

She uses a Chatbot quiz to segment folks

from either her done-for-you Facebook ad services

or to her content that eventually leads to one

of her DIY Facebook ads courses.

It's a quiz that helps segment,

and also get to know her followers better,

and segments them either for done-for-you services

or for her online course.

Number six: most of you seasoned online course sellers

likely already know that the last 24 hours

before the cart closes is when the lion share

of many of your sales may come in.

So it's incredibly important to let your followers know

about when the cart is going to close,

and when last call bonuses are about to expire.

A Chatbot is one of the best ways to

give timely reminders to folks so that they

do not miss out on your product sale.

Now you know six ways you can use a Chatbot

to increase sales for your online course.

Which of these strategies would you

consider using in your business?

so that I can connect with you more there.

Linkedin Comic book artist Norm Breyfogle has passed away at age 58.

Renowned comic book artist Norm Breyfolge has passed away at the age of 58.

He was best known for his illustrations of Batman.

Here's what you need to know.

Norm Breyfogle's Cause of Death Was Not Initially Shared Publicly.

Norm Breyfogle died on Monday, September 24, 2018.

He passed away in Houghton, Michigan.

His cause of death was not shared publicly.

The death was first reported by the Wrap on September 26.

The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home has a memorial page set up to honor Breyfogle.

Breyfogle suffered a stroke in December 2014.

The stroke did extensive damage to the left side of his body and he was unable to continue drawing professionally.

Fans raised tens of thousands of dollars to help him pay the medical bills.

Breyfogle wrote about the struggle to recuperate after the stroke on Facebook.

"I experienced a Thalamic stroke on December 16, 2014.

It effectively wiped out my drawing ability.

I'm now going to concentrate most on my writing and on trying to train my right hand to draw (i've been left-handed all my life).".

Breyfogle Was Best Known For His Iconic Drawings of the Batman Character.

Breyfogle began his career working for First Comics in 1985.

He joined DC Comics in 1986.

The following year, he began his acclaimed six-year run drawing Batman.

Breyfogle was credited for bringing characters such as the Ventriloquist and Ratcatcher to life, alongside teammate Alan Grant.

Breyfogle was also one of the first comic book artists to draw Tim Drake as Robin, with long pants and boots, from 1990 until 1992.

From there, Breyfogle worked on the Batman series "Batman: Shadow of the Bat" until 1993 alongside Grant.

In that series, they created characters including Jeremiah Arkham, Mr Zsasz and Amygdala.

Post-Batman, one of Breyfogle's creations was his own comic book.

He wrote and illustrated the story of Metaphysique, which was published by Malibu Comics.

Breyfogle's Earliest Batman Stories Were Combined Into a Hardcover Book in 2015.

Breyfogle did not limit himself when it came to jobs.

He worked for various comic book companies throughout his career, usually simultaneously.

According to his LinkedIn page, Breyfogle was also working for Malibu Comics, a division of Marvel, beginning in 1992.

He drew for DC Comics and Warner Brothers until his death.

In recent years, he dove back into the Batman world, working on the digital Batman Beyond Unlimited series.

In 2015, DC Comics paid homage to Breyfogle's work on Batman.

The comic released a hardcover book of his early Batman stories, called "Legends of the Dark Knight: Norm Breyfogle Vol.

1.".

Breyfogle: Drawing Batman Was a Childhood Dream.

After his passing, the 13th Dimension shared an interview with Breyfogle from 2013.

He shared that even though Batman has evolved over the years from a technological standpoint, he still felt that the character maintained his original characteristics.

Breyfogle told the website, "I don't read comics regularly like I used to years ago, but I do pick up a few issues every now and then to keep my eye on general trends… I think comics (including the Batman titles) are at root more or less the same as they've been for a long time except for technological advancements and surface changes… But at base, Batman is still the Batman of my own fan days, with some ups and downs.

He also explained that getting the opportunity to create Batman for so many years was one of his top career achievements.

"On the abstract end, drawing Batman for publication was one of my childhood dreams come true, and on the more concrete end, it's the highlight of my career in many ways to this day, providing me with a good fan base for my art.".

Tributes Poured In on Social Media Upon News of Breyfogle's Sudden Death.

Norm Breyfogle was remembered fondly by fans and former collaborators.

DC Comics also posted a tribute to its iconic illustrator, writing: "Artist Norm Breyfogle's undeniable impact on the Dark Knight will live on in the hearts of his fans.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.".

Comic book writer J.M.

DeMatteis shared on Twitter, "I just heard that Norm Breyfogle has passed away.

I had the pleasure of working with Norm on THE SPECTRE and he was a wonderful collaborator: powerful drawing, impeccable storytelling—and he really thought about the stories.

(1/2) He'd call up to ask questions and discuss the philosophy underlying my scripts.

He had a questing mind that dug deep and that depth was reflected in his art.

A terrible loss…and way too young.".

Scott Bernloehr credited Breyfogle for giving Batman his humanity.

"So many of the Batman comics I read as a kid were drawn by Norm Breyfogle.

His Batman was incredibly expressive, humanizing a character that artists today seem to present only as "dark and edgy".

#RIPNormBreyfogle".

How to set your Drip subscription tiers - Duration: 0:59.

If you're thinking about starting a Drip, don't think of it as a crowdfunding platform,

think of it as a publishing platform.

This is a place for you to collect your work and invite people into the process of making it.

Drip is also another way that you can workshop ideas.

If you have a sketch or a doodle of an idea and you haven't quite "gotten there"

yet, you can ask your subscribers and they can help you fine-tune your ideas.

I work primarily in digital things.

I make a lot of stuff for the internet—videos, music, podcasts—so all of my tiers are digital fulfillment.

There's no stuffing things into envelopes.

Sounds very difficult.

Keep in mind that this is a long haul and not a short sprint.

So, when you're making your subscription tiers in the beginning, under-promising and

over-delivering is always better than the opposite.

It's a place for you to put the things that you're making, that you love, so that people

who love them can see them.

That's the first priority.
