Waching daily Sep 28 2018

People have been doing the low-carb thing (and bragging about it on the internet) for

a long time.

So when the ketogenic diet became a thing in recent years, the market responded by offering

a bunch of products that claimed they had the same thing: low net carbs.

One of the ways food scientist can do that is by using carbohydrates in the form of fiber,

a nutrient that doesn't get digested by your body, so it doesn't count towards calories.

It also makes for some healthy poops - so there's that.

But how do you stuff that much fiber, sometimes the same amount as multiple servings of fruits

and veggies, into such small products?

And more importantly, what does it do in our bodies?

[swoosh transition] Okay, big picture: fiber /is/ good for you.

It has all kinds of health benefits and it usually comes from fruits and veggies, so

overall it gets a thumbs up from nutrition experts.

But what makes fiber so unique is how it isn't digested by the body - since you can't metabolize

it, it doesn't count towards net carbohydrates.

And with so many people looking for low carb options, food scientists got to work.

At first, companies used foods like dates or figs to bind the bar together, which added

fiber.

You could get 4 or 5 grams of fiber in a 50 gram bar, which is reasonable.

It's what you'd expect if you ate the raw ingredients.

As the demand for low carb snacks grew, companies started using IMO's, or isomaltooligosaccharides

which brought the net carbs down but tastes like chalk and urine.

That was popular in the industry for a while, but consumers wanted something that tasted

like, good for a change, so food scientists cooked up soluble corn fiber or SCF.

It was a good move - the products started getting better textures and finally didn't

taste like licking the inside of a gas station bathroom.

But you'll notice that products that use SCF have /a lot/ of fiber in them.

Like, 17 grams in a single bar.

That's a lot.

But it /does/ have some of the same benefits as traditional fiber.

A handful of animal and human studies saw that corn fiber had a good glucose and insulin

response, which is good news for diabetics, especially if this ingredient was gonna be

used in low sugar foods.

And in multiple studies, corn fiber had a lower glycemic response than straight glucose

- it was a slow bump in blood sugar instead of a big spike.

SCF helps with digestive health as well.

In the few randomized clinical trials that have been performed, participants who supplemented

about 20 grams of corn fiber a day /did/ have bulkier poops.

For the kids watching this, mark my words: there will be a time in your life when the

quality of your poops make the biggest difference in how your day is going.

I'm not kidding.

But while its effects on glucose and poops are similar to traditional fiber, how soluble

corn fiber /works/ in the body isn't quite the same.

After passing through the small intestine, SCF is fermented by your microbiome - the

bacteria living in your large intestine.

They turn the substance into energy for themselves and leave behind some short chain fatty acids

like butyrate which have their own health benefits.

And according to a study in 2012 study, SCF actually can help increase the amount of helpful

bacteria in your gut.

So not only is it a fiber supplement, but also a potential prebiotic.

And none of that is a bad thing.

But still, I'm not totally sold.

Where's the drawback?

Why aren't we all supplementing soluble corn fiber food products?

The answer is exactly that.

It's a food product, not ya know, food.

One of fiber's big benefits is that it helps you feel full for longer, so researchers from

the University of Minnesota put it to the test.

In their study, they got twenty hungry college kids and gave them either a regular muffin,

or a muffin with 25 grams of fiber - an entire day's recommended value.

It's a lot.

The subjects reported no difference in their level of fullness when comparing the types

of muffins.

And that's not really surprising.

Not because of some unique thing about soluble corn fiber, but because of the idea of being

full.

You need to eat a big, filling salad to get 25 grams of fiber.

By sheer volume alone, you're gonna be full after that.

But to get the same amount of fiber from soluble corn fiber, you're nibbling on maybe a protein

bar and a half.

It might not be the low carb trend that dieters are after, but it's way tastier.

[swoosh transition] So for bulkier poops and low glycemic index,

this stuff checks out.

But remember, there are still so many more benefits from food-sourced fiber that those,

benefits that we haven't studied yet with soluble corn fiber.

So for now, I'm still sticking with salad.

That does it for this video.

If you learned something today, I really appreciate it if you like the video and subscribe.

And if you've got someone in your life doing the low carb thing, share this video with

them.

Otherwise, have fun, be good.

See you next time.

Music at Manchester University - Duration: 2:59.

The music department here at Manchester is a small but active department. We offer several different tracks within the music major

including music education,

applied studies, which is a performance focus music theory and composition, and also a general music major.

New department offers a wide range of opportunities in both instrumental and choral areas

including our large acapella choir, which is a large mixed chorus.

We have Chamber Singers, which was a smaller more advanced group and also have a women's chorus called Confabulate. We also offer a

an opera workshop which happens every year, usually in January in the early spring,

for students interested in musical theatre our

spring play is typically a musical and students can also enroll in voice lessons for

private voice study for college credit.

I'm in the acapella choir and I'm in Chamber Singers

one of my favorite aspects is probably being able to just sing with everybody and

I really enjoyed the acapella choir retreat

getting to know everybody and just having fun. It's a really great opportunity and

they really make you feel involved and it's a lot of fun.

We have a number of different instrumental

ensembles including a Manchester Symphony Orchestra where students can perform alongside other students

but also professional musicians, we have a symphonic band

jazz ensemble ,chamber winds, a small string ensemble and also percussion ensemble.

The music program doesn't just

limit you to doing one thing though after I started I immediately got requests from the teachers to do other things like, "Hey

are you gonna join choir?"

So they just want you to grow as a musician and as a person

overall and they just want to help you with that. That's something that I get from all of the music

faculty here.

One of the things that we're proud of is that for example

all of our

music ensembles are made up primarily of non majors - probably more than half are not

majors of music they're majoring in areas outside of music.

It's really nice to be able to be involved with the music department

even though I'm not majoring in music.

Because I do have a passion for playing for music and the coolest things I've been able to do with

Symphonic Band in particular is we go out and we play for the community sometimes and run out concerts.

So whatever your musical interests are,

there are opportunities here for you to participate in music and enrich your own college experience in the arts.

Fluoride Toothpaste Poison & Water Toxicity - Duration: 8:23.

Fluoride toothpaste poison or nutrient?

Coming right up. Hey I'm Dr. Ekberg with

Wellness For Life and if you'd like to

truly master health by understanding how

the body really works make sure that you

subscribe and hit that notification bell

so that you don't miss anything. So one

of my viewers Magdalena (Koh) asked about

fluoride toothpaste, so I thought I would

add a little bit information on that

subject. So once upon a time they

introduced a lot of fluoride they they

added to the drinking water and they

added to toothpaste believing that it

somehow helps to strengthen teeth and

there was like one study early on that

said it does strengthen teeth but then

there's been hundreds of studies that

try to duplicate and try to find out for

sure and there's never been any

conclusive evidence on the contrary

while there's very few studies that

would indicate that there's any benefit

there's several that indicate there are

some side effects and detrimental

effects that it can increase staining

and pitting and even cracking of teeth

it can reduce the IQ and children and it

increases the risk for fractures so

there's a lot of reasons to educate

yourself a little about this and the one

thing that we see in our office

primarily is thyroid problems and what's

going on here well fluoride is in the

family of halogens it's on the right

side of the periodic table and it's in

the same family as chlorine bromine and

iodine so these guys are very related

they look the same they have the same

kind of molecular arrangement so they

have a tendency to displace each other

in the body

so while iodine is a nutrient necessary

for the thyroid to make thyroid hormone

the other three are neurotoxins they are

not nutrients they have never been shown

to have any essential function in the

body

no metabolic pathway

ever has been found to depend on the

first three therefore they are poisons

and because they look the same though

they have a tendency to displace iodine

from the thyroid and make the thyroid

more toxic it also because they displace

iodine we can become and we're more

likely to become iodine deficient by

being exposed to these three how did

this all get started where is this

controversy was the beginning well like

we said there was one study that showed

some benefit and then they had an

industry of aluminum production and

synthetic phosphate fertilizer

production that produced a lot of

fluoride as a by-product so they wanted

a place to dump it and it is illegal to

dump it into the ground and into the

water because they found the cat it

poisoned the cattle and it killed off

vegetation when it's being transported

its transported with skull and

crossbones because it is a poison but

for some reason they figured that it's a

good idea to put it in our drinking

water and to put it in toothpaste so

back when this all started

they elicited the help of Edward Bernays

and he's been called the father of

public relations he's been called a

father of spin as in spinning the truth

and the father of propaganda he called

he wrote a book called propaganda and

one of his more famous campaigns was

called torches of freedom where he

convinced women in 1929 to increase

smoking because it would help them get

equality with a man so he used the

emancipation struggle as a as an

incentive for women to smoke more and of

course it sounds crazy but it worked and

a lot more women smoked as a result so

he was very good at what he did and

that's why they asked him to help

convince people that fluoride in the

water was a good idea so today as a

result we have it in the drinking water

we do have it in the toothpaste so in

the drinking water is sort of mandatory

because wherever you live if it's there

it's there with toothpaste however you

do have a choice because you can buy it

with fluoride or without fluoride and if

you stick around a little bit longer I'm

gonna give you one piece of advice

that's going to blow you away that is

going to make up your mind for sure in

Europe they have gotten smart about this

so at one point they were fluoridating

the water for most of Europe but as

people learn more and as people became

more aware they gradually bandit country

by country until today there's only 3%

of Western Europe that has fluoridated

water the number in the u.s. is about 70

percent at this time however even the US

have gotten a little bit smarter because

in 2015 for the first time in 50 years

they lowered the level so now they said

zero point 7 parts per million would be

the maximum limit that was allowed so it

is making some sort of progress even

here but here's the kicker

I want you all after this to go and find

a tube of toothpaste and if you use

fluoridated toothpaste then you want to

get out your magnifying glass and look

very carefully in the back it says the

following and I didn't believe it so

you're not going to believe it unless

you go read it if an amount larger than

normally used for brushing is

accidentally swallowed contact poison

control center immediately does that

sound like a nutrient to you if you a

tiny amount as ap an amount normally

used is accidentally swallow contact

poison control center immediately ok go

check it out you won't believe me I

didn't so as a result Europe has banned

it and the u.s. is a bit stubborn and in

that regard so what you can do is

obviously you can get the tooth pay

has no fluoride which I'm sure you'll do

after this you can also get a water

filter unfortunately chlorine is very

easy to remove fluoride fluorine is very

difficult to remove so while most carbon

filters will remove chlorine very few

filters will remove fluoride and it's

very difficult to remove it entirely

it's kind of frustrating that you have

to go to great expense just to remove

something that the government put there

in the first place you do have to spend

a little bit more money and I would

recommend for a lot of people it would

probably be worth it to get a house

filter and some of the good ones can

remove anywhere from maybe 50 to 70 to

80 percent of the fluoride in the water

so here's the thing to understand about

fluoride it has never been shown to be a

nutrient there's no agency in the world

today that claims that it is a nutrient

or that it is part of any essential

function or any metabolic activity

that's necessary in the body at all ever

so it is not a nutrient it is a poison

and do what you can to reduce it so

share this video with other people who

would like to get healthy or stay

healthy and if you're new to this

channel make sure that you subscribe and

hit that notification bell so that we

can keep this content coming your way

thanks for listening

What does Earth sound like from space? - Duration: 7:27.

Space is a desolate void, a vacuum where no sound can travel.

So you might think that space is extremely quiet.

You would be right, but only because you don't have the capability to hear anything with

your natural ears.

Turn your ears into radio wave receivers, and suddenly space is a constant symphony

of strange and interesting sounds.

(space sounds)

I'm Alex McColgan, and you're watching Astrum, and together we will find out what

the sources of these radio waves are, and what they sound like!

We don't have to go too high above Earth to already be in space, only 160km up and

sound can't be heard anymore because there aren't enough particles for sound waves

to travel.

But even here in space, there are plenty of other waves to be found.

The ones particularly interesting to us are electromagnetic waves, which

don't require other particles to travel like sound, but rather travel by themselves

through photons.

You are witnessing a form of electromagnetic radiation right now in the form of visible

light by watching this video.

However, visible light is just a tiny section of the total spectrum of electromagnetic radiation.

It stretches from gamma waves, waves with an extremely high frequencies, to radio waves,

with waves sometimes kilometres long.

There are observatories that look at all the different wavelengths, and this channel has

focused normally on frequencies higher than infrared as they can be easily converted and

visualised in visible light.

But there are also even radio observatories, some orbiting Earth right now.

And we are going to check out what they have picked up in the way you are most used to

witnessing radio waves: at audio frequencies converted to sound.

Being in the Earth's Van Allen belt, or its large band of radiation surrounding

the planet, and you'll already start hearing some very interesting sounds.

(space sounds)

These sounds are generated by energetic particles in Earth's plasmasphere, which are being

tugged to and fro by the rotation of Earth's magnetic field.

You see, there is a plasmasphere around Earth, containing clumps of ions and electrons.

As Earth and its magnetosphere rotate, the magnet fields push through these particles,

accelerating them is a wave called a plasma wave, similar in a way to how disturbances

in the Earth's oceans can cause waves to form.

You are hearing these disturbances in the form of radio waves as they pass by one of

NASA's Van Allen probes.

These are called chorus waves, and are often heard during Earth's dawn which is why they

are found on this side of the planet.

(space sounds)

An amazing type of chorus wave closer to Earth is the whistler-mode plasma wave, which sounds

like space battles and laser fire.

(space sounds)

These exist in the cold and denser part of the plasmasphere, and are caused by electromagnetic

radiation released by lightning strikes in the atmosphere.

The waves generated by these strikes can bounce around within the magnetic field of the Earth,

and because higher frequencies travel faster than lower frequencies, that is why these

chorus waves sound like they have a falling pitch, like

a whistle!

(space sounds)

Going further out from the plasmasphere, an opposite effect can be heard.

(space sounds)

This time, there is a rising tone, almost like a conversation between songbirds.

It is thought to be caused by electrons moving towards the night side of Earth because of

magnetic reconnection in Earth's magnetotail, transferring their energy to the plasma as

they collide with it, as can be seen in this simulation.

In another region within the plasmasphere, we can find something called hiss waves.

(space sounds)

These are thought to be chorus waves that have leaked out from the inner plasmasphere.

It sounds much more menacing and cold than the other sounds we have heard so far.

I really find these sound clips very interesting as it's sometimes hard to comprehend waves

you can't see, but sound adds a new layer of understanding when combining it with a

visualisation.

Even with this though, electromagnetic radiation can be a difficult subject to grasp.

Brilliant.org has a course specifically on radiation to help fill in the knowledge gaps,

where they explain about the electromagnetic spectrum and how it travels in waves.

So much of our day-to-day life is governed by these waves, from seeing with our eyes,

to the wifi we receive on our phones, to the radio stations we tune in to.

Binance Cryptocurrency Exchange: How To Buy & Sell The Market Instantly - Duration: 12:04.

Hello my friend, Caleb Wright here from Bitcoin Lifestyles Club.

And today I'm going to show you how to buy and sell cryptocurrency from the order books

instantly at current market prices on the Binance Cryptocurrency Exchange.

Right now I'm on the exchange page for Tron, also known by the call letters TRX.

And we're just going to scroll down a little bit here and underneath the candlestick chart

you can use the buying and selling forms to trade Bitcoin against TRX with the buying

form.

And TRX against Bitcoin with the selling form.

Notice the BTC balance here on the buying form.

This is indicating that I have over 0.1 bitcoin to trade for Tron.

Or about $660 worth of bitcoin at today's prices.

If you look in the similar location on the selling form, you will see I currently have

no TRX in Binance at the moment.

So we will start with the buying form, since I have some bitcoin available.

To view what prices Tron is selling at currently, we will use this section to the left of the

screen.

And the red section of prices here is displaying all the sell orders of Tron that are currently

lined up.

And as you probably guessed, the green section underneath is the order book of bids.

Which are the current prices that people are trying to buy Tron.

The black numbers in the middle represent the current satoshi price that the coin is

trading at.

And the prices as you look upwards into the red section of sell orders and the price increases

as you look upwards into the red section of sell orders.

The people selling Tron for the lowest prices currently will be immediately above the current

price that is in the middle.

The left column has the satoshi price, these are the satoshi prices of the sell orders.

And these are the satoshi prices of the buy orders that are lined up.

The middle column is showing me an exact amount of Tron that is being sold at each satoshi

price.

So for example, at 339 satoshis, there are 792,157 Tron being sold.

In the third column here is the exact bitcoin value of all the Tron that is for sale at

each price.

So for example at 339 satoshis, that amount of Tron right here is able to be purchased

for 2.84 some odd bitcoin.

There's 2.3 now, bitcoins worth of Tron available for sale at the satoshi price of 339.

If you still need help learning how to read satoshi values, which is really important

to understand, when trading altcoins against bitcoin.

Which is where you make the bitcoin by the way.

Make sure to review my training within the Fundamentals of Crypto Trading section of

the Bitcoin Lifestyles Club course.

And so back to the bid order section over here.

As you look down the list of numbers here, you'll notice that from the black number,

that the satoshi prices here in the left column become smaller as you scroll down this list.

The people that are bidding for the highest prices for Tron, will be at the top of this

list.

The highest bid that's in place right now, is for 338 satoshis.

There is 3.34 bitcoins worth of bids for Tron at 338 satoshis at this moment, according

to this form.

And you can also toggle the view of these order books, so you can see deeper into either

of them.

Click the button with the red line at the top right here, in order to display a deeper

list of the sell orders that are lined up.

And you can also use the scroll of your mouse to look even deeper.

And you can click the button with the green line at the bottom of it, to show all the

bid or buying orders, just the same way we displayed all the selling orders.

And yes you can scroll through these ones as well.

And of course you can click the button with both the green and a red line to return to

the original view with the current price in the middle.

So now we are going to use the buying form to buy some Tron / TRX at the current market

prices.

So lets take a scan of the selling order book, the one in red over here.

It looks like with 0.1 bitcoin I can currently buy it from this first sell order that is

available at the lowest price currently of 340 satoshi.

Just click the satoshi number and it will show up in the buying form in the middle here,

under the price area.

As you see 340 satoshis.

Then you can either select the percentage of bitcoin you would like to use in this trade

to pick up Tron.

Or you can simply type the amount of BTC in the 'total' field, at the bottom of the form.

I can type 0.1, or alternatively I will just use 100% of my bitcoin in this example by

clicking right here.

Then it will auto populate the amount field with the amount of TRX that equates to.

Which is 29,710 TRX at this moment.

Next you simply only have to click the 'buy TRX' button, and walla.

You have bought your Tron at the lowest current selling price available on Binance.

Notice how the Tron we just picked up is now displaying on the selling form to the right.

Now that we have Tron, we can try trading it back for bitcoin.

Of course since this is for example purposes, I will just go ahead and sell these coins

at virtually break even, maybe even minus one satoshi and the trading fee, which will

probably just be a fraction of a cent anyways, so it's no big deal.

So very similar to buying Tron, we just click on the satoshi price of the current highest

bid order, in order to populate the selling form field with the price.

Now since there is only 680 coins available at 340 satoshis.

We actually have 29,710 Tron.

So in order to sell that, we would actually have to set it at 339 satoshis, where there

is actually 2 million bid orders worth of Tron setup, that we can sell into.

Now that we've selected the satoshi price, we can just select 100% over here on the selling

form.

And that will line up 29,710, all of our TRX, to sell the satoshi price of 339.

And we will simply click the 'sell TRX' button, in order to complete the process of trading

our Tron back for bitcoin.

Now that I've shown you how to do all this manually, I will show you a little shortcut

to buy and sell the market that really dumbs down the process and makes it easy.

We are just going to click the 'market' tab at the top of the buying form.

Which will bring up slightly different buy and selling forms, that will already have

the current market price set in the price area, so that you can quickly select how much

you want to buy or sell, by either typing it in the amount field.

Or just using the percentage buttons, and then clicking 'Buy TRX' or 'Sell TRX' to complete

the process.

So if you're in a hurry this is a great way to do it.

And if you scroll down to the bottom, you can see a history of the buy and sell orders

that we just made.

Right here we have the 'buy' at 340 satoshis and then the 'sell' at 339 satoshis.

See I only lost just a little fraction of a bitcoin.

.00 probably 03.

As you can see from the difference in these two numbers.

Very very small, just to provide this example to you guys of how to do this.

And there you have it, this is how you buy and sell the cryptocurrency market at current

prices.

Something you should know is that using this method of buying or selling the market instantly

at current prices, also has a small fee for every trade of 0.1%.

If you invest in at least 500 BNB, which is Binance Coin, you can reduce your overall

trading fees to 0.075% per trade.

By also selecting from your profile to pay all trading fees with BNB instead of the underlaying

currencies you are actually trading.

It can definitely add up to a nice savings over time.

So I definitely recommend purchasing a little bit more than 500 BNB, because you need to

maintain the level of 500 to get that discount.

But you also need to have some BNB to actually pay for the trading fees as well, if you want

to get the discount.

Now not everyone may be able to afford that, but for those that can, it's definitely a

good option.

How To Work With Local Artists To Create Custom Art ~ Feat. Kayli Magdaleno - Duration: 10:33.

[Music]

Welcome to The Dress Up Mom.

[Music]

Hello.

Today I am so excited because we are commissioning some custom art work for our home.

We're going to get a couple of new pieces made and the artist is coming to our house

today to take a look around and see what we do.

We're going to take you through this whole process: what inspires her, how she's going

to do it and then show you sort of the before and after of what we come up with.

But first, thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it.

If you are a regular viewer and subscriber, I love you, thank you so much, it means the

world to me.

If you haven't subscribed and you like what you're seeing, please do.

It's the button, it's just here below, it means the world to me, trying to grow the

channel.

We're also on all the social media outlets, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter @thedressupmom

#thedressupmom, and you can check us out there too.

Here is the room that we are going to be working in.

So, this is what it currently looks like.

If you were watching any of my videos about a year ago, we really went through and did

a bunch of new things in here and spruced things up.

So, here are the colors.

We've also have gotten a couple of new things, like this was in my parent's house, I really

like it, but it adds kind of a different color scheme.

Also, from my parent's house, recently we went through and cleaned a bunch of that out,

we have little bowls and things like that.

We want to replace this piece.

Now I really like them, they're very cool, but I think the colors aren't quite right.

This is waves at a sunset, I'm going to incorporate them in a different part of the

house.

But, I'm thinking that maybe a little bit more color in here would be good.

So, Kayli's here, I'm going to go down and get here.

Rajka: Here we are with the lovely and very talented Kayli Magdaleno, the one I've been

telling you about.

I'm so excited about this Kayli.

Kayli: I'm excited as well.

Rajka: I'm really excited.

So, I'll tell you the back story.

I met Kayli, she was my Yoga teacher for a couple of years.

I actually loved, loved, loved, loved her classes.

It was Monday, starting a week off with my Kayli fix, it was great.

But, I had no idea that Kayli was an artist and then she decided to make a lifestyle change

and spend more time working on her art, so stopped teaching Yoga.

I started following her on Instagram and her art is gorgeous.

Kayli: Thank you.

Rajka: I knew that I would have to have some of Kayli and a bit of your soul in our space.

Kayli: Oh, I love that.

I love that.

Rajka: So, tell me about like your process.

What motivates you, how you got into this.

Kayli: Well, I've always had a creative side.

I grew up with a creative side both of my parents and I never found niche.

And then I started watching YouTube videos, honestly.

Rajka: This is how you learned how to paint?

Kayli: Yes.

Rajka: No way.

Kayli: Yes.

Rajka: Oh my God, I didn't even know that.

Kayli: I saw, there was a piece that I really loved, and I had to figure out how they did

it because I could tell that it wasn't just acrylic or ink, there was more to it.

There was depth, it was shiny, it was great.

And so, I just started YouTubing it.

Rajka: No way.

Kayli: And then I taught myself and I'm a trial and error leaning, so it's totally

been a wild ride.

But, yeah, I love it.

Rajka: Oh my gosh, that's great.

So, do you remember who it was that you were watching on YouTube so we can get a shout

out?

Kayli: I don't.

I wish I did.

Rajka: Oh, that's all right.

That's okay.

Kayli: I don't remember.

Rajka: YouTube really is amazing.

As a creative outlet for creators, as well as for people.

I had no idea on that.

So, tell everybody, because I haven't shown them what it is that you do, but what is it

that you do?

What is your art?

Kayli: So, it's - my medium is epoxy resin, so it's what you use to finish surfboards.

So, it gives that shiny, kind of glassy look to it and then you just mix paint in it.

Rajka: Let people know too, you're an avid surfer.

Kayli: Avid surfer, love the water.

Rajka: Everyday pretty much?

Kayli: Yeah.

Yes, almost every day.

The water is hands down my inspiration.

Nature in general, but mostly the water just because there's so much depth to her and

she teaches me so much on a day to day basis on just how to handle her and then how to

like to transcend into the real world.

I just love using her colors and she's totally my inspiration.

Rajka: Great.

Kayli: The water through and through.

Rajka: And I love that too.

I've always been -- it gives me energy.

I'm not as avid a surfer, I started a little later in life, but I love it too.

Every time I come back out, it's a whole different person, right?

It's great, right?

Kayli: And even just being around her.

There's something about her that's special.

Rajka: I agree.

So, another reason, as you might be able to see in our house, we've got a lot of the

ocean and that kind of an inspiration.

Kayli: Yes, I love it.

Rajka: So, I would really like to take these three pieces here, which I think, I like,

but I don't think they're right.

I would like to incorporate some more of like the colors that we have and just kind of tie

in maybe, as Doug says, these are little bit to beige maybe.

Again, with the wall, so kind of just going to let you do whatever you think Kayli.

Kayli: I love that.

Do you want the same sizes?

Rajka: I think so, but what do you think?

I think that's kind of the right size for there.

Kayli: I think it's great, totally.

Rajka: And I definitely like the, you know, having three.

Kayli: Got you.

Rajka: I kind of like the idea of it maybe going from a little lighter to darker.

Kayli: Yeah, I love that.

Rajka: But, I'll just, again, let you kind of do your thing.

Kayli: I totally love that.

I remember you also saying potentially it being like a sunset going down into the water

too.

Rajka: That would be awesome.

Kayli: Okay.

Rajka: That would be really, really awesome.

Kayli: Yeah, I think that would be really cool.

Rajka: Yeah, okay.

Kayli: I would love that.

Rajka: Great.

So we are just going to -- well, we're going to get some pictures of you working in your

space, so that people can kind of see how that looks and what you do and your process.

Kayli: It is pretty cool.

Rajka: I mean surfboard resin, who would even think of any of that?

So, we're just going to show people a little bit of that and then have you come back and

we'll put the art up and see how it looks.

Kayli: I love that.

Rajka: Yay!

Kayli: Let's do it.

[Music]

Rajka: Here we are back with Kayli.

Thank you so much.

Kayli: Of course.

Rajka: She just mounted the pieces and we absolutely love them.

They're so beautiful.

I think they go so well in the house.

And, I love it.

So, we even added this beautiful piece here that we put our incense burner on because

it was getting ash all over the place.

But look at how this ties in with my Mother-in-law's painting and has just the whole eye moves

across here.

Kayli I just love, love this.

Kayli: I'm so glad you guys love it.

Rajka: Such a cool, cool upgrade to our house.

And I will love looking at this everyday thinking of you and you're so wrapped up in here.

How did it feel?

What was your inspiration?

Kayli: The water obviously.

All the colors that you guys have in your home, um, they're such beautiful colors,

so it was so easy to work with.

It felt really good to make the piece.

This is the first piece that I've made since I've moved and throughout the whole transition,

so it actually felt really, really nice to make this piece for you guys.

Rajka: Oh, I love it.

So, this is going to represent sort of new beginnings.

Kayli: Yes, totally.

Rajka: New beginnings.

Kayli: New beginnings.

Rajka: That's a great thing for us.

Kayli: There's the name.

Rajka: The New Beginnings.

Kayli: The New Beginnings.

Rajka: We just named the pieces.

The New Beginnings.

I just absolutely adore it.

I love how that wood is kind of natural peaking through there.

It's fantastic.

[Music]

Rajka: Kayli, how can people find you if they wanted to sort of commission some art for

themselves?

I will put links to -- I know you have an Instagram feed and you can send out stuff.

Kayli: Yes.

So, that is the only way that people can contact me right now.

Either Instagram, or even just my telephone number.

Rajka: Okay.

I'll put that if you don't mind.

Kayli: I don't mind at all.

Rajka: I'll put that in the description below.

She's so talented, so wonderful.

I notice you're getting pieces all over town, it's so cool.

Kayli: I am.

It's so nice.

Rajka: Both in places that are selling them and places that are just hanging them in their

places.

So, it's just so lovely.

Kayli: It's amazing.

Rajka: I'm so happy to have found you.

I have signed pieces, I know that they're going to be worth a ton.

It's doesn't even matter, they're worth a ton to me because they're just gorgeous

and they'll be with us wherever we go.

So, thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

Kayli: Thank you.

Rajka: I appreciate you doing the video.

And, again, I would encourage people if you want, find local artists and have a piece

of them in your home.

You can design what you want to have and it's a lot of fun.

So, thank you everybody for watching, we really appreciate.

Until next time, have fun and dress it up a little.

What is ISO – How ISO Affects Your Video Exposure and Causes Noise - Duration: 4:52.

So first off, ISO stands for International Standards Organization; and honestly, who cares?

Let's just talk about how it affects your video.

Hey everyone, Camber here back with you, and today we are talking about ISO and how it

affects your video.

And if you're new here, this channel is all about teaching you how to use your camera

to make good videos.

So if that's you, consider subscribing.

So, ISO is simply a camera setting that allows you to brighten or darken your shots.

And as you get higher ISO numbers it progressively brightens your images.

And so ISO is a great tool to use, especially in dark environments, and allows you to be

more flexible in shaping your shots through your choice in aperture and shutter speed.

Remembering that a stop of light is a doubling or halving of the amount of light let in when

taking a photo or video, you can know exactly how any change in ISO will affect your exposure

because any doubling of you ISO number will result in a brighter image by one stop while

any halving of your ISO number will result in a darker image by one stop.

Looking at this picture we can see that it is underexposed by two stops of light based

on the metering scale.

So if we double the ISO from 200 to 400, it will increase by one stop of light.

So now our picture is only underexposed by one stop of light.

So if we double the ISO again to 800, that increases by one more stop of light, and now

our image is properly exposed.

However, raising ISO also has consequences.

If you're using too high of an ISO, you'll start to get a lot of grain, also known as

noise, in your images, and it may end up being unusable.

So looking back to that previous example.

Let's say that when we were two stops underexposed, we were already at 1600 ISO.

So then we have to double it again to 3200 in order to get to one stop underexposed and

then double it one more time to 6400, and now our image is properly exposed.

But now you can see there is a lot more noise in it, and the image is deteriorating very

rapidly at the higher ISO.

So there is always a trade off with ISO, and you should really only raise it when absolutely

necessary when you can't change you exposure with shutter speed or aperture like with video

how we're stuck with using a single shutter speed for our videos to make your motion blur

look the most natural.

Now, I brought up the International Standards Organization at the beginning because they

developed an industry standard scale for measuring sensitivity to light.

And this was normally used in relation to camera film and how sensitive it was to light

because when you would buy film, you would buy a certain film speed, or ISO.

And at the lower numbers it would be less sensitive to light, and as you got up to the

higher films speeds, or ISO, it would be more sensitive to light.

And nowadays with digital cameras, it's commonly said that ISO is your camera sensor's sensitivity

to light; however, that's not quite true because your camera sensor only has one light sensitivity level.

Instead, with digital cameras there's a whole different process that goes on for boosting

exposure based on ISO.

So even though you camera sensor's sensitivity level isn't actually changing, it still can

be helpful to think of ISO as acting like your camera sensor's sensitivity.

So a lower ISO not only produces less noise, but it also gives you better colors and dynamic range,

which is your camera's ability to capture highlights and darks.

And so it's recommended that you use the lowest ISO possible in order to get the best quality

out of your camera.

And you can do this by using lights to light your scenes properly and opening your aperture

as necessary to let more light into your camera.

However, you won't always be able to keep the ISO at the lowest setting when you run

into low light situations or times where you may want to have a more narrow aperture to

have a deeper depth of field, and so you have to raise your ISO in order to compensate for

your exposure.

And certain cameras like the Sony a7S mark ii do really well in low light, and I've been

able to us that camera at 12,800 ISO in a wedding before and still been able to use

the footage.

However, I wouldn't suggest that with most cameras, especially if they don't have a

full frame camera sensor.

So just take your camera, test it out at different ISO levels, and see what's your personal limit

for usable footage and try not to go above that.

And that's all I have for ISO so if this was helpful, hit that like button and let me know

down below if you have any more questions about ISO.

Go ahead and subscribe if you haven't, and remember that the only way to get better at

something is to practice.

So get out there and film something.

See ya soon!
