Facebook stories like this one with a
little circle that you can click on
whether you are on mobile on your PC
wherever and just get a snapshot of
what's happening in the last few hours
for that particular person.
There can be video clips there can be
pictures they only last for a period of
time and then they expire so it's just
the in the moment stuff and it's also
reachable on messenger. So I'm going to talk
through how you create your own story in
this video. Here we go. So the stories
feature has run successfully on
Instagram which is owned by Facebook and
it's been brought into the Facebook
arena and there's lots of possibilities
whether you're a business or just you
personally wanting to share what you've
been doing that particular day. But not
permanently it's just an as
it happens kind of update. So now when
you go to write a post in your normal
newsfeed box you've got two options
newsfeed which could be to whoever you
want to share it to and your story. Now
the most restricted you can send it to
is just your friends only so we'll keep it
to that and then we'll just say
something really simple like that.
Select stories you can use on of the
effects and then say share. Now this is
interesting the stories archive if you
take a picture as part of the story and
it's probably easier to do on a mobile
than it is here on the desktop. It will
actually now be automatically kept within
your Facebook archive only for your
viewing. So you won't lose any of the
records yourself even though the story
itself will expire after a 24-hour
period. OK so if I now go to where it
says your story that's what will appear
to people. I'll just go back to mine and just
say add to your story and I was going to
put a picture of myself but it seemed
like I couldn't share that to the messenger
side of things so maybe if it's a
personally identifiable picture there's
an issue. So let's
select a picture of a panda chewing.
Let's try that. So you could create a
group within messenger to send it to
multiple people at the same time. I'm not
going to do that now I'm just going to say
post it to friends and when we're done we'll
say share. Let's have a look at how the story
looks now. If I click on the arrow and there's
the picture. OK so you can also add
video clips loads of possibilities it's
really a personal choice as to how you
could see this being used. It might be
that you work in a situation where you
want to let people know some behind the
scenes stuff on what you're going on
with and what you're doing. You don't
necessarily want to put it into the main
newsfeed all the time. It's just
something that's there temporarily, it could
work really well. And there's lots of
options certainly when you have a mobile
phone in terms of what you can do with
pictures and little effects and things
like that. So that's Facebook your story
adding your story to Facebook feeds.
