Hi Guys!
One of the most difficult sections of the IELTS Speaking Test are questions in parts
2 and 3 that ask you to describe something in the present time and what happened in the
past and what might happen in the future.
Here's an example of how to answer that series of questions.
And the topic is "Who becomes famous these days?"
So I'll begin with the answer.
People who are famous today can be performers - musicians or actors, they can be sports
stars, they can be politicians, famous scientists, famous authors and famous business people.
Some of the people we see are famous are famous for just being famous like a reality TV star
or someone who seems kind of silly and frivolous.
Other people who are famous today are making a contribution to the world.
For example, Bill Gates from Microsoft is one of the wealthiest people in the world
but he's giving away all of his money to charity to help poor people.
In the past, we know who is famous by their biographies or what they contributed that's
been recorded in history.
For famous musicians we know about Beethoven, Chopin, Bach and other composers.
For famous authors, we know about Chaucer and Shakespeare and even the ancient Greeks
We know about the scientists like Newton and Darwin.
And we know about famous politicians and other people who did something that's been recorded.
In the future, it's likely that sports stars will still be popular and performing artists
will be popular.
I hope in the future that the people who are famous are someone who does something really
important for the world.
It could be a scientist who discovers how to make the best use of solar power.
It could be a businessperson who is successful who gives his or her money to charity to help
poor people or to help solve a problem in the world.
I hope in the future the famous people will be famous for doing something good.
So in that type of answer we talked about all the different types of fame in these days
and who was famous in the past.
We know that because of their music or their writing or something from history.
And then in the future, you can give your opinion about who might be famous or should be famous.
You can discuss what fame really is, do you know anybody famous, is there someone famous
that you follow?
ll of these are great ways to structure your answer for the IELTS Speaking Test parts 2
and 3 to show that you've thought about fame and history and art and business and music.
You can mention specific names from the present or the past.
That shows you have been studying well.
Study hard and remember in the IELTS Speaking Test, you must tell a story that has a lot
of details that's interesting for that IELTS examiner.
The IELTS examiner is a teacher and he or she loves to read books or want to write a
book or may have written a book.
They love stories.
They're really not accountants or doctors or engineers from a technical field.
They're area of expertise is English and the beauty and complexity of English.
So if you can show that you appreciate that beauty of English by telling a story about
your life or about something that you know, that will make your IELTS Speaking Test answer
a lot more interesting than the person who is competing against you.
Most IELTS Speaking Test applicants tell very dull stories.
If you can make your story more interesting with details about yourself or your opinions
or what you know, you will raise your IELTS Speaking Test score much higher and go to
where you want to go to study or to live.
Study well and tell a great story!
