Waching daily Jun 27 2018

hi everyone I'm Evelyn Parham with Evelyn Parham helping you become a

healthier you in today's video I am sharing with you how to make a balanced

smoothie and you're probably wondering what is a balanced smoothie a balanced

smoothie is one that has balance okay I'm just kidding

have you ever had a smoothie and then shortly after drinking that smoothie you

are so hungry you're like man I need to eat again like 30 minutes to an hour

later that has happened to me but what I discovered is that if I have a balanced

smoothie then I'm good I don't get hungry 30 minutes to an hour later I am

good for a good three to four hours okay and it really depends also on my

activity level and how much I'm working out and how active I am on that

particular day so here is what you need to include in a balanced smoothie you

need to have all three macronutrients in there all right you need to have your

carbohydrates your protein and your fat and here are some examples of what I'm

talking about when I say carbohydrates we are looking at possibly some green

leafy vegetables and some fruit and maybe oats sometimes people put oats in

their smoothie another example of the proteins would be protein powders

plant-based protein or whey or whatever protein powder that you like also Greek

yogurt and also collagen those are sources of protein and sources of fat

you could use nut butters such as peanut butter almond butter or you can use

whatever nut butter of your choice but you can use oils you can use olive oil

you can use flaxseed oil olive oil just popped on my head but you know coconut

oil whatever the case may be you can add those oils into

your smoothie or you can even throw in a handful of nuts that'll be a source of

fat as well so make sure you add all of that into your smoothie so that you can

get balanced if you don't care about balance then you don't have to add the

stuff in there but for me when I have a smoothie that is for a meal replacement

it has to have some balance so today I'm going to share with you a smoothie that

I made and I'm gonna tell you what's in it I'm gonna show you the pictures of

what I added into this smoothie I didn't record the video I just snapped

pictures but anyway here it is first of all I have my base which is a liquid you

can use water juice you can use milk for this particular smoothie I use almond

milk but you can use whatever milk you choose I also use spinach

I had a serving of spinach which was about three cups and then I added some

berries I had frozen strawberries and some blackberries I'm not a blackberry

person but I had a little bit too many blackberries in there because it tasted

a little bitter but that was okay and then I added my protein powder and my

fat okay my fat was almond butter my protein powder was a plant-based protein

that also had two more servings of veggies in it okay if you want to boost

up your smoothie and add even more nutrition to it you can add some little

superfoods and what I added to this smoothie was collagen moringa powder and

I also added some black seeds and it was pretty good

that is my smoothie that is my balanced smoothie sometimes I make it like this I

don't always add blackberries but I do use the berries as my source of fruit

I'm not a big into high sugar fruits but the berries for me work fine especially

when I use the plant-based protein powder that I use it's sweetened by

stevia and I don't really need to add any more sweetness so that's my balanced

smoothie and it holds me for quite some time and I don't

get hungry thirty minutes to an hour later that is it that is how you make a

balanced smoothie if you have any comments that you would like to make

please leave them below you have any questions leave them below also thank

you so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video bye bye

Did you see the two Iranian players square up against Portugal? - Duration: 1:55.

Did you see the two Iranian players square up against Portugal?

After a truly mesmeric night of World Cup football we can all finally catch our breath.

Because the final Group B games did not disappoint, with both fixtures twisting and turning right down to the wire with VAR at the heart of it all again.

While Spain and Morocco were playing out a blinding draw, Portugal hung on for a vital point by the skin of their teeth against a spirited Iran side.

Iran, despite going out, have performed miraculously to take four points from a group containing the Portuguese and the Spanish.

But it could have been so much more had Vahid Amiri not squandered an unbelievable chance by shooting wide in the dying minutes.

It was a truly pulsating encounter full of memorable moments, including Ricardo Quaresma's exquisite finish with the outside of his boot to give Portugal the lead.

But did you spot a bizarre incident in the first half between the Iranian goalkeeper and one of his defenders?.

After a mix up that nearly allowed Joao Mario to score, Saeed Afagh and goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand were involved in a heated clash that nearly escalated.

It wasn't quite Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer at Newcastle levels of rage, but for a moment it looked particularly hairy for the Iranians.

They managed to compose themselves – it's just a shame Amiri couldn't do the same at the other end right at the death.

O luna in Canada | IFMSA Experience - Duration: 10:57.

Hello everybody!

Welcome back to my channel

My name is Nina and today I'll tell you the reason I'll spend one month in Canada this summer

You will find out what it's all about, the price... in a few minutes

You are probably wondering what I am doing for one month in Canada

Couldn't I go just for one or two weeks?

The main reason why I'm going there for such a long period of time is

I.F.M.S.A

What is this I.F.M.S.A?

It is the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations

More precisely, just like its name implies, IFMSA is a federation

that brought together the associations of medical students from all over the world

So...

The Medical Students' Association from Romania...

with the one from...

Peru

Chile

Canada

USA

Argentina

Spain

Poland

All the countries gathered and formed this big federation

Different scholarships and projects are organized within the federation

And I will also participate in two of these projects

Everything started with a SCOPE exchange

SCOPE is an IFMSA department

that organizes professional exchanges between medical students from different countries

members of IFMSA

These students travel from their home town to a new country, for one month

in order to practice medicine in a hospital there

So basically, I will go to Canada for one month to work in a hospital

But let's start from the beginning

Everything started in October

when the Local Exchange Officers

posted an ad which said we were invited to see what countries are suggested for this year's exchange

Because each year there are different countries from which you can choose

And, from what I've understood, they are randomly chosen

I don't know much about this topic

But I know for sure that each year there are new countries on offer

And, very enthusiastically, I went to see what countries were on offer for this year

Some of them really drew my attention

First of all Canada

When I saw Canada was in stake I was like

"OMG! CANADA!"

It has been my dream to go there ever since I was in the first grade!

The second country that drew my attention

and which I had desired since last year

was China

When I noticed China was on offer I said to myself

"If I don't go to Canada this year, I'll definitely go to China!"

and...

my third option was South Korea

Yes! South Korea seemed like a nice offer

Chille, Peru

These two also drew my attention

And the rest of the countries on offer were from Europe

From outside Europe there were also Mexic or Brazil

Somewhere in November the application process opened

and we had to send our CV

All the CVs were examined

Each candidate received a number of points for their CV

And a final ranking was made, with all the candidates who applied

Two weeks later we applied

the selection was made

That day your summer depends on

All the candidates gathered in one lecture theater

I even took Alex with me that day to stand by my side and be my lucky charm

And the countries on offer were written on two big boards

the first person in ranking came... and circled one of the countries he/she wanted the most

Then the second in ranking chose one of the remaining countries

Then the third, and so on...

This year, I was ranked fifth

and I was super lucky to get Canada as my exchange country

I really didn't expect it

and I was really prepared to chose China or South Korea or whatever

If I hadn't got Canada

I was super super super excited!

Then...

The next steps were to...

log in the IFMSA platform and to choose the Canadian towns I would like to go to

as well as the four fields I'd like to work in

I was assigned to my first choice of town

MONTREAL!

The capital of Quebec

and also the first choice of fields

which was forensic psychiatry

I've wanted this so so badly!

It is... it was my dream to be assigned to forensic psychiatry!

Are you wondering what forensic psychiatry actually means?

Maybe not so many people are familiar with this term

Well, forensic psychiatry deals with

people who do illegal acts

but don't have discernment

So these people have a psychiatric problem

and, instead of going to jail

like a person who has discernment

they are sent to some special institutes

where they also receive psychiatric care

So basically I will spend my summer in some sort of jail

A combination between jail and hospital

The other day I looked over the site of the institute where I'll work this summer

and... I found this institute to be...

UNREAL!

The people institutionalized there have access to a pool

they have pottery classes

drama classes... music classes...

a basketball field

a volley field

So there are lots of recreational activities on offer

through which the patients can also receive therapy

So I'm talking about therapy through painting

therapy through music

therapy through acting

therapy through sports

Another aspect which I'm thrilled about is living in a student dormitory!

I will finally have the chance to live in a student dormitory

Ever since I was in the first year of college I've had this fantasy about living in a student dorm

and...

... I think that ...

living in a student dorm makes you feel like a real student

I don't know... maybe I'm wrong... I've never lived in such a place

but...

I am very excited to go there and to try this experience!

In Montreal the dorms are as following:

On each level there are several apartments

and each apartment consists of 4 rooms

or even 5 rooms

two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen

So basically these apartments are just like normal flats

And in every room there is a double bed, a wardrobe and a desk

Only one person can stay in each of these rooms

so in each apartment stay around 4-5 people

depending the number of rooms

and these people have to share two bathrooms, a common kitchen and a living room

The entrance in every room is possible just with a special card

so if you don't want to be disturbed by your flat mates

you don't have to worry because they can't get in your room if they don't have your card

Besides these apartments

there are also some common places for all the students who live in the dorm

For example in one room there are ping pong tables and other games

while in other room there is a fitness equipment

where students can make bodybuilding or they can run, cycle or do whatever they like to do at gym

I am super excited and I can't wait to arrive there and to meet all the other international students

because I won't be alone

there will also be students from many other countries

and we will live together for an entire month!

The next chapter is about fees!

What was the price of this project?

It was 250 euro

So somewhere around 1000 RON

The money included the accommodation at this dorm I've told you about for one month

one meal per day

and...

of course, the price of the project itself

But, in my opinion 250 euro for an entire month

is a really good price

The price of the flight is not payed by IFMSA

I had to buy it on my own

But I believe this might be my lucky year

because there have been introduced two new direct flights: Bucharest-Montreal and Bucharest-Toronto

So I won't be forced to stop anywhere between flights

So in just 9 hours and 50 minutes , from what I recall, I will arrive directly in Montreal

OK! I've finished talking about the first chapter: my summer medical internship

Next...

I'll tell you a funny story

Somewhere in March I saw another ad about a different IFMSA project

called SCORA XCHANGE

Just like its name implies, this project was proposed by SCORA department

this department

is different from SCOPE, of course

This department focuses on everything regarding sexuality, like...

sexual education

LGBT community

maternal health

and sexually transmitted diseases

So everything about SEX is part of SCORA department

SCORA XCHANGE is also a project where students from different university centers

travel to other countries

There, they will take part in different projects, debates,

activities

on SCORA themes

I noticed that this year Canada was on offer for SCORA XChange

and Montreal was the only town I could have applied

so I applied for SCORA XCHANGE as a participant

I sent a motivation letter

my CV

What else?...

I had to answer some questions

like... What is the perception of LGBT community in Romania?

How is sexual education viewed in Romania?

Anyway... I answered several questions

and...

I was very excited to apply to this!

And after one month they answered my application

with a "negative-positive" response, I could call it

Half negative and half positive

telling me that I wasn't accepted as participant

but the good news was that I could be a trainer for the other participants

I found this really strange

But I said OK

You want me to be a trainer?

I'll be a trainer!

I've considered this a challenge and I immediately accepted it!

So just after my SCOPE exchange ends, I will start this new chapter with SCORA XCHANGE

For the moment, my plans for Canada are...

so complexe

I want to see absolutely everything that can be seen

Montreal

Toronto

The amazing natural reserves

waterfalls

forests

lakes

mountains

I can't wait!

This was the main idea about what will happen this summer in Canada

If you liked it, please subscibe

because it would really help the channel grow

and please like this video

See you next time!

Byeee!

Have you left me a comment with your summer destination this year?

if not

do it right now!

John Warren: 5 Fast Facts You Need To Know | Heavy.com - Duration: 6:52.

John Warren: 5 Fast Facts You Need To Know | Heavy.com

John Warren is the Republican candidate who forced incumbent Governor Henry McMaster into a runoff race for the gubernatorial primaries in South Carolina, which will be determined on Tuesday evening.

A former businessman and combat veteran, Warren emerged as a virtual nobody during the primaries, slowly rising to tie for the Republican bid against McMaster, a longtime career politician.

As a traditional conservative, Warren campaigned upon a platform that primarily focused on the need for new blood in DC.

In the days leading off to the runoff election day on Tuesday, polls pitted Warren and McMaster in varying leads, with one poll giving Warren a ten point lead over McMaster, and other polls signaling a smooth victory for McMaster over Warren.

Warren has been endorsed by all of the three other candidates who competed in the Republican primary for governor of South Carolina.

Here's what you need to know.

This is His First Time Running for Office, Ever.

This gubernatorial campaign marks Warren's first foray into the political universe.

Prior to running for office, Warren has made a career as a successful businessman in the South Carolina region.

According to his official site, Warren is the founder and CEO of Lima One Capital, a mortgage finance company.

Lima One Capital has received several awards for its success as a fast growing company, and has over 80 full time employees.

Warren is also a combat veteran, having led over 300 combat missions during his service as a decorated Marine in Iraq.

According to Greenville Magazine, Warren has sited his professional experience as the key to his future success in office.

He said, "I have led over 300 combat missions.

I have actually started a company.

We need people that have done things of that nature serving South Carolina.".

He Could Care less About Whether Trump Likes Him or not.

Despite Trump throwing his support behind McMaster in the weekend leading up to the runoff election, Warren was unconcerned.

In conversation with Fox News' 'The Newsroom,' Warren said, "This election is clearly not about President Trump's record.

It's about Henry McMaster's, and it's a record of failure and the people are tired of it.".

He added, "We have so much corruption in our state, a lack of accountability in government and so much incompetence down in Columbia.

They want a businessman, they want a conservative and they want a Marine, and that's why we're going to be victorious.".

He's Young Enough to be McMaster's son.

At age 39, Warren is half of his opponent McMaster's age, who is 71.

McMaster was notably the oldest person to hold the office of governor in South Carolina two years ago, at age 69.

According to US News, this age gap has contributed to Warren's "lightning-speed momentum" in the last few weeks of the primary campaigning, allowing him to overcome the three other candidates who were also in the race by campaigning on his "youthful enthusiasm" and outsider mentality.

"It's time to change the coach," he told supporters, via US News.

He Aligns With McMaster on Almost Every Issue.

Though McMaster and Warren are campaigning against one another, they tend to agree on most of the issues they're campaigning upon.

McMaster and Warren are both in favor of defending the second amendment, banning abortion, cutting taxes, and ramping up strictness on immigration policy.

The primary distinction between McMaster and Warren can be found in Warren's belief that the people of South Carolina are tired of "tired of the status quo and the same old, same old from the people who have spent their lives in government.

Warren has also noted his belief of the extensive corruption taking place at the state level, as seen in his conversation in 'The Newsroom' (video above).

He Contributed Three Million Dollars to His own Campaign.

Warren publicly contributed approximately 3 million dollars to his own gubernatorial campaign.

Of his donation, Warren reportedly said, "My wife and I are going to be making a significant contribution to our campaign because we believe in South Carolina and we don't want to be beholden also to any of the special-interest groups like some of the other candidates.

Given that Warren quickly moved into a contending position against the more experienced and well known McMaster, his financial investment seemed to be an effective one.

As for McMaster, he raised over four million dollars for his own re-election campaign.
