Autism Meltdown Intervention: How To Handle Autism Tantrums, To Help And Calm Your Autistic Child - Duration: 5:21.
Hi there I am Dr. Andrea Libutti and today I am gonna talk about autism
meltdowns and intervention; what you can do to intervene and the most important
thing about meltdowns besides understanding what the meltdown is all
about is how you intervene and there are three things you need to consider your
reaction the safety of your child and empathy so those three things are really
important and the first one especially and I'm gonna describe that for you your
reaction now I am a graduate of the Son Rise Program
Son Rise; see the Son Rise Program up in Massachusetts it's a wonderful loving
respectful approach to autism and I will never forget their advice on intervening
when there's tantrums and meltdowns because it was so powerful and so simple
and if you know anything about the Son Rise Program intervening in a tantrum is
actually the opposite of what the Son Rise program is all about so for example
the Son Rise Program which is a program designed to encourage your child to want
to join our world by being somebody that is very excited you celebrate all the
things that they do even if they're tiny little things you're very big and
demonstrative and excited and you just want to like give your child a reason to
want to connect with you by being a really interesting fun person we'll the
intervention for a tantrum and a meltdown is the exact opposite of that
so it's you stay calm you stay centered you are very quiet and
the way you talk to them you're not big and angry and reactive you're the
opposite so for example a child throws something against the window you very
matter-of-factly walk over there and say hey you know what it's not okay to throw
things I get that you're really frustrated
right now something must be really wrong or uncomfortable for you to have thrown
that so we can figure it out but for now let's just go over there and we'll pick
it up and if the child isn't ready because they're really having like a
tantrum and they're having fit give them space just be calm make
sure that they're safe but just give them sake give them space and just be
someone that stands away from them and says look I am here for you when you're
ready I can help you through this you know when they're when they're ready to
be helped through it so your reaction should be very calm and very even keel
and very supportive now safety I sort of started alluding to that a moment ago
but safety is not just the obvious right the physical safety right they can't be
breaking glass and smashing things and and you know head banging but they
should have emotional safety too and that is the acknowledgment right the
acknowledgement that you know they are obviously frustrated they are obviously
really upset and that you are there to help them through it so that really
brings us into the third thing which is empathy
you know expressing understanding like who doesn't want to be seen and heard
right and if something is bothering some somebody I know if I'm upset by
something I need a sounding board I have a friend or a family member that can say
hey you know this is what happened to me and I'm really upset and they can talk
you off the ledge and make you feel better and put things in perspective
well kids with autism are no different whether they are nonverbal or not they
are no different and you may not think that your child is listening to you
because maybe they have what we call severe autism and they're just sort of
in their own little world but they're having a fit trust me they get and
understand everything so it is really really important for you to let them
know that you know you're sorry that they're really upset right now but we'll
get to the bottom of it together you can offer I always offer my child you need a
hug right now I do that for all three of my voice and you know almost nine times
out of ten my son with autism will give me a hug they're kids may not but he
will and it's just so nice to just breathe together and calm down so those
are pretty straightforward things you can do right monitor your reaction
your child is safe physically and emotionally and you know be empathetic
you know be empathetic today are having a tough time and they're struggling and
their life is hard and challenging sometimes so you know important takeaway
they need to to know that you hear them and that you respect them so I hope this
helps pretty simple stuff but it works it's powerful let me know if you have
any things that have worked for you by putting some comments down below and I
hope you'll come over to my website it's AndreaLibutti.com there's lots of free
downloadable things that can help you on your autism journey. I am here because I
really want to help parents look at autism differently so these kids can
learn, or we can learn how to help these kids thrive and become their very best.
Thanks for listening and have a great day!

Preparing for the Coming of the King - Duration: 2:23.
this season is called Advent and it's a Latin word and it talks about the coming and it
says we're you know it's pointing us the four weeks prior to Christmas to say he's coming
so let's get prepared he's coming so let's get prepared he's coming let's get prepared
Advent is the time to prepare us for the coming it's the coming of the baby but his disciples
were not waiting for the coming of a baby they were waiting for the coming of a king
they were waiting for the coming of a king they weren't thinking about a baby and a birthday
they were thinking about a king coming back on his throne to take the world back and redeem
it and they were really excited about that and I think now that's a thought I can rest
my head on at Christmas so I thought how did they know that that was what was going to
happen how did they know well the angels when he went to heaven told him that that was going
to happen but Jesus himself had told them that was going to happen and if you go into
the book of Matthew you go look in there and Matthew 25 you see this place where Jesus
tells these guys or it's Matthew 24 he says these guys let me tell you what it's going
to be like I want you to know what it's gonna be like because the time is coming when
I'm coming back so and he describes it and he says to this no one knows about that day
or hour not even the angels in heaven nor me the son but only the father as it was in
the days of Noah so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man for in the days before the
flood people were eating and drinking marrying giving in marriage up to that day Noah entered
the Ark and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them
all away that is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man two men will be in the field
one will be taken and the other left two women will be grinding with a hand mill one will
be taken the other left therefore keep watch because you do not know on what day your Lord
will come he doesn't say if he will come he says when he will come and he says it over
and over when he will come when he will come but understand this if the owner of the house
had known at what time of night the thief was coming he would have kept watch and would
not have left his house to be broken into so you must also be ready because the Son
of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him he's telling them I'm coming

Vector Robot In-Depth Honest Review | Your Robot Sidekick! - Duration: 7:38.
hey vector my name is dieter indict her apparently this little guy right here
his name vector he's a home robot for monkey and here's a question what can
you do with know if you're familiar with Anki you know that they make another
robot called Cosmo that looks a lot like this little dude but the differences are
that this thing is way more powerful it's designed to be always on it's
connected to Wi-Fi and it knows what's going on around it all the time it's
just sort of looking around hanging out and it has a lot more powerful
technology and it - so there's a laser sensor on the front a little capacitive
sensor here so I can feel if you're petting it it has four microphones so it
can hear you say its name and respond to you and answer questions like what's the
weather like to understand what all of that means we came to aki's offices here
in San Francisco to talk to the people that made vector and find out what they
think you can do with it Augie calls vector a home robot which
makes you think about Rosie from the Jetsons but vector can't really do that
much it can do some very basic assistant stuff like Alexa but Aki is spending way
more time working on the robots personality than its utility you can
think of them as an older brother for Cosmo but definitely not Cosmo hey
Victor I have a question what's the distance from San Francisco to Los
Angeles
hey vector set a timer for 10 seconds
every one of our products will be a character it'll have a name it'll be
different personalities because if you have a robot that helps you with you
know with something more functional where he's it meant to do something in
healthcare or security or something like that it's a very different type of
personality but still has to be an interface that's actually very intuitive
and very warm a robotic personality could very quickly become really
gimmicky so Becker doesn't actually talk too much it just sort of chirps and
beeps like a little Joyce unless you specifically ask it a question but more
importantly its actions are designed to react to the environment which makes it
feel a little bit more alive we really placed close to tension to have
behaviors be based on either sensors or what the user is is doing so that was a
big piece for us not just having a robot who was entertaining briefly but
something that felt very alive over the course of the day the thing that's
really different is that he has interactions that are physical and based
on you hanging out with him so if you turn on music he'll pick up the exact
beat and he'll start dancing to the beat right like that's new or you know if I
pet him he'll get really blissed-out by it then there's things that we didn't
design that just happened so if you turn on the TV he will watch that TV because
he's listening to the sound yeah and then the screen triggers his motion
detector so you guys really interested by different things personality may go a
long way but is that really enough reason to buy a quote-unquote home robot
when you think about kind of that stereotype of the humanoid robot you end
up going into a bad place for two reasons one has you hit a price point
that is totally impractical for the level capability as possible today right
and you end up pigeonholing yourself because you end up trying to match the
strengths and weaknesses of a human which don't map perfectly to the
strengths and weaknesses of robotics today and if you miss anything you hit
on candy in Kenny Valley which is a basically creepy and I'm not
by making a character it's very humanistic in his qualities but far but
not trying to sound or look or feel like a human you actually can better match
your strengths and your weaknesses and avoid the weaknesses right
you can set expectations expectations right away because and so the fact that
he's still a cute little character I don't expect him to give me a beer which
is the test exactly right so vector can't bring you a cold one but
that doesn't mean it's not technologically advanced it basically
has the guts of a smartphone inside it including a faster processor and Wi-Fi
which means that it can always stay connected to the internet and doesn't
really need you to take care of it it can hang out on its own find its own
charger and not fall off the table it does a lot of that with surprisingly
advanced computer vision for such a tiny package so what you're seeing here is a
visualization of the robot and as I turn him he can feel it by virtue of that
gyro I talked about yeah he knows he's turning in space and you can also see
he's building slowly building a map so I'm gonna manually drive him around so
you can see he can see is cube in 3d and again like I was saying before that's
using the marker and if I move that around you can see it moves in three two
one and now I'm gonna show you show them the cube and sees it just and he's able
to position it and there's exactly where that is really dumb to the millimeter
Wow that's what it takes for him to pick it
up so is it able to place our faces and space as well in this map yeah see in
your eyes nose and mouth there and if we if we introduce ourselves to him he'll
eventually associate a name with each of these places you're the green when I'm
shading on the blue lampshade moving in space and you can see if I move closer
it will also move move closer this thing can recognize faces how are you doing
facial recognition on a little tiny robot what's interesting is most
people's eyes are about the same distance apart so that's a that's a
known distances which is all we really need so by realizing how far apart my
iOS eyes are in the image I can tell how far away the face is roughly but it lets
him remember where I am in space which means that if he decides he's gonna pick
up that cube he turns around drives over here uh-huh he remembers I'm here and
that allows him to do something we call referencing which is something kids also
do right before they they want to do something they often sort of look up at
you make sure you're watching them he can do that as well it can turn back and
check me out and then go and pick up this cube
and what's powerful about that is it it takes it from being an experience where
you're watching a robot pick up a cube to one where you're sort of drawn into
the experience and in doing it doing in with him or Brad boy
he can tell if you're making eye contact he can tell if we're looking at each
other instead of him right so we can also use that information to drive his
behaviors hey vector fist-bump you keep treating around we drive around he's
sitting in his home right now imagining we put him on our counter like say on
the floor a coffee table a party yeah so living-room coffee table kitchen table
there's a we'd have a an accessory that's kind of like his habitat and the
keys that he's always on you forget you should forget that you there is an
on/off switch he'll charge himself go back his charger
he'll be sleeping for part of the day he'll wake up when something interesting
happens and I wanted this is gonna be the magic that builds out all of the
subtleties around him being alive punky is launching the vector robot on
Kickstarter today and when it ships in October it's gonna retail for about 250
bucks but if you get this thing don't expect it to have the same utility is
even a $50 Amazon echo after all this thing is only part digital assistant
it's also part toy and part I don't know little cute robot pet thing but what it
actually is is a chance to experience what it's like to have an autonomous
robot in your house it turns out the main utility of the vector robot is
something we don't talk about very much in tech it's fun thanks so much for
watching I want to know what would you do if you had a little tiny robot in
your house let me know in the comments and oh hey one more thing we're gonna be
taking a little break I've got jury duty people got vacations and we'll be back
sometime in September and so I'm just gonna roll this on for a little bit
longer because that's what I do goodbye

How Hearts Become Different - Duration: 1:47.
Jesus made it really clear there's only one way for your heart to change where you care
about those people and that's to accept him as lord and savior and when he does it he
puts his holy spirit inside of you and that spirit of God in you gives you a new heart
he says I turn that heart of rock into a warm loving heart that follows me right and then
you have this power in you to care and love for others and i could tell you before I knew
Jesus Christ I didn't care about anybody or anything I cared about me I was the center
of my world and all's I cared about was my stuff and when he changed my heart something
in me I couldn't even describe it to this day I wake up and there's times I I'm thinking
about helping someone and I'm like where's that coming from why am I thinking about helping
somebody that's not my normal thinking pattern God does that to you guys he puts your heart
and he changes it he makes you different and he makes you think things about other people
and that's how he knows your heart is different because he sees that your heart's thinking
about somebody else and you care about somebody different and you care about the hurting and
the loss and those who are struggling and you can't figure it out sometimes you're like
I don't normally think that way that's not like me I'm normally consumed with me but
today for some reason I'm worried about him or her and I want to help I just want to help
and you don't know why and you know you're not going to get rewarded for that in fact
you're probably not going to get recognized at all but there's something in you saying
I want to help I got to do something different so I want you to know this place PacMoore
when Bill says we've been doing this thirteen years we have but it's not this what we've
been doing for thirteen years is reaching the people here that are hurting those that
are broken they're lost

Photography When It's Cloudy | Cloudy Day Photography Tips - Duration: 1:42.
What's up guys it's Donovan Wagner and today we're gonna give you some tips on
how to take better photos when it's cloudy outside.
Alright, look at the bright side even when it's cloudy out it's just nature's
softbox. It's actually doing you favors when you're shooting portraits because
there's no shadows under the eyes or chin it's really even like a good
alternative to shooting outside in the winter is to just bring it inside shoot
near a window. It doesn't matter if it's cloudy or sunny, window light is really
nice soft light to use. Okay another tip for when it's winter and it's crappy
outside the weather's not cooperating is just get out there and use the gray
tones and make it kind of moody and edgy. That makes it almost look really
artistic and cool. Lastly just remind yourself that when you're looking at a
photo you want to focus on the subject or the elements within the environment
rather than the landscape in most cases anyways. So make your photos a little bit
more interesting so if you live in a city go downtown and shoot near some big
buildings, reflections use puddles, get creative and just really draw your
viewers eyes to where you want them to look that way the weather doesn't really
matter what it's doing because it's still an interesting photo. In conclusion,
I hope this helps you guys stay motivated through the winter months and
just remember to get out there and shoot no matter what the weather is doing. If

but before you become a member
let's find out how to backspin the golf ball
This "Tip from the Pro" brought to by Golf University the world's premier golf improvement program
I'm with Richard Hatt, the Head Pro here at Royal Melbourne Richard
the greens I'm battling to keep the ball on the green how do i do backspin
Well
Around this greens we round this course with the greens being hard and fast you need to get some backspin
so it's three things we need to look at I guess really Andrew
is we need to have a grooves on the club that are nice and sharp so those ones
that'll wear them out all the time we need to get something a bit newer
we need a premium ball it's a soft enough that it can get some spin
but the execution of the shot the way we need to play it
is that we need to have the difference between the loft of the club
and a hitting down motion
So we need a club with some loft
and we need a descending blow on the ball that gives it what we call in the trade spin loft
as you hit down that creates backspin
the grooves on the face run down the face of the ball create backspin
and that's what gives you the ability to tryand spin it
why don't we yeah
So we've got a 52 out here
what we're going to look at doing is get into this shot
we're going to really focus on now
really trying to get the feeling of actually having a bit of a club here
and where as we come down
what we really going to try and do is concentrate on coming just down here Andrew
on the back of the ball
and see we can get a bit of backspin on that ball
nice
and you can see there it's spun after that second bounce had a bit of bite
and that's really getting a nice clean contact with good sharp grooves
good premium ball and a slightly descending bow
why don't you have a go better we go
So Richard I'm really trying to hit down on the back of that ball
yeah so Andrew what I want you to do is get it into that middle of your stance
and put a little bit of weight on that left shoe
and what I really want you to try and do
this time is when you're coming down to the ball got that 52-degree
I'm gonna try and get down on the back of that ball just squeeze it down on it
the grooves on the face will help put some backspin
let's see we get this ball to stop on the green here
looking pretty good
so it should take a bounce possibly another one
and see that just bite down and then you could see that have a little bit of spin
yeah they start doing that you're going to shoot some more good scores
that almost went in the hole rich it was a great shot hold on thank you
perfect

Best time to Sell a House | Selling Your Home | Home Selling Tips Canada - Duration: 2:50.
This is Jeff O'Leary - "The Village Guru"
Top Mississauga Real Estate Broker
and today I'm going answer your question if you're a seller:
When is the best time to sell my house?
It's something that's on everybody's mind as
you're planning for the future
you're not going to want to miss this episode
it's gonna give you all the hints in order to have an excellent outcome.
Stay Tuned!
So it never fails,
at least once a week I do get questions from viewers
and also clients on when is the best time to sell your house?
Now first off let me just say
there's no "right" time to sell your house.
Sure we have busy seasons, and we have slow seasons
but ultimately it depends on a lot of factors
So #1 is do you need to buy another home?
For example, if spring is the busiest time of year
you also have to remember that you have to buy (another home) during that time
so there's more competition
there's more buyers out there
sure it might help you on the selling side
but if you're trying to buy a larger home
you may be in just as much competition
or even more for that home.
Number 2:
Do you have children?
People who don't have kids are a lot more flexible
and also if you have an entry-level home
which might be attracting buyers that don't yet have school-aged children
they will not be as concerned
with getting into that house during the spring /summer time
in order to get their kids enrolled into school.
So a lot of times
it does depend on the type of property you have
so if you have a nice 4 bed family home
that would be a perfect fit for a family of four
with 2 or 3 kids that go to grade school or high school
then yes, you might want to consider selling in the late spring
that way they move in the summer
and they're ready to go for school.
Number 3
is how's the real estate market doing?
Over the last year we've kind of hit a bit of a lull in the real estate market
things weren't quite as busy as they were before.
Now... the good thing is...
while prices might not have been as high
for home sellers as they were in 2017
a lot of times those sellers were buying bigger homes
and in that case they were making more money
by taking a little bit of a loss selling their home
but getting a much better deal on the buy.
It really all depends guys at the end of the day
what's your plans and what's your situation?
At my team, The Village Guru
we always craft a situational analysis based on your life
and what you expect in terms of your home sale
because what I know for sure
is no two home sellers are ever the same
and that's really one of the most important things to keep in mind
when choosing the right time to sell your home.
There you have it, I'm Jeff O'Leary

How To Add Addon Domain In Hostgator 2019 | Quick & Easy - Duration: 4:23.
How To Add Addon Domain In Hostgator Hey guys, Bryan with WP Cupid Blog and in
this video, I'm going to be going in-depth on how to add addon domain in Hostgator.
Adding a Hostgator addon domain is a quick and easy process.
Towards the end of the tutorial, I'll be going over what to do if your addon domain
is not working after creating your addon domain in Hostgator.
If you haven't purchased Hostgator hosting yet click the link in the description below
and input our exclusive promo code cupid60 to get up to 60% off your Hostgator hosting.
I do want to mention that the link is an affiliate link and I'll receive a commission which helps
support this channel and helps put out more WordPress tutorial videos.
What Is A Hostgator Addon Domain?
Let's start by answering a common question that is asked which is what a Hostgator addon
domain is?
An addon domain in Hostgator is a domain that you can create within your Hostgator Cpanel.
An excellent way to think of it is you have multiple Hostgator hosting packages, and they
are all sharing the same Hostgator Cpanel.
With an addon domain, you can create email addresses, forwarders and everything else
you can do like your primary domain name.
To put it in simpler terms an addon domain is how you would add a second website to Hostgator.
The addon domain shares the same Hostgator Cpanel and the server.
Hostgator offers unlimited addon domains for all of their hosting accounts except for the
Hatchling plan.
Here are the steps on How To Add Addon Domain In Hostgator
The first step in our add addon domain in Hostgator tutorial is pointing your domain
name servers to the Hostgator nameserver.
If you purchased your additional domain name from Hostgator, you can move on to the next
step as your nameservers will already be pointing to Hostgator.
If you purchased your domain name from another domain provider like Godaddy or my favorite
domain provider Namecheap you will need to log in to your domain registrars dashboard
and go to the nameservers section and input Hostgator's nameservers.
Unlike Bluehost where they have static nameservers Hostgator's nameservers are correspondent
to the hosting server, you are on with Hostgator.
I'll show you how to find your Hostgator nameservers so you can add them into your
domain registrars nameservers section.
When you purchased Hostgator more than likely, you would have gotten your nameservers sent
to you in your Hostgator welcome email.
If you have that email saved you can pull it up.
Another way to locate your Hostgator nameservers is to log in to your Hostgator Cpanel.
Once you are logged in to your Hostgator Cpanel, you will see a menu over to the left.
Find preferences and click to move on to the next step to find your Hostgator nameservers.
Next, scroll down and over on the right-hand side you will see your Hostgator nameservers
listed.
You now want to log in to your domain registrars dashboard and find the nameservers section.
Here is what the Godaddy nameserver section looks like.
Here is what the Namecheap nameserver section looks like.
If you need help pointing your Hostgator nameservers to Namecheap, I've provided our video tutorial
in the description below.
If you need help pointing your Hostgator nameservers to Godaddy, I've provided a link to the video
in the description below.
How To Create Addon domain in Hostgator Cpanel From your Hostgator cPanel dashboard scroll
down till you see addon domains under the domains section.
Click this to start adding the addon domain via the Hostgator addon domain feature.
We are now going to create an addon domain in Hostgator.
Put in the new domain name and the subdomain and document root fields will automatically
populate for you.
You will see create an FTP account associated with this addon domain.
Make sure you select this.
If you aren't familiar with what FTP means FTP stands for The File Transfer Program,
and it's a standard network protocol used when transferring computer files between a
client and server on a computer network.
Put in a good password for your FTP account.
Click add domain.
You have successfully created an addon domain in Hostgator.
You will see modify addon domain below the add domain button.
This section will list out all of the addon domains that you currently have created.
You can easily modify your addon domains and easily manage the redirections of the addon
domains.
Hostgator Addon Domain Not Working?
After you've created your addon domain in Hostgator Cpanel using the addon domain feature
you might be having trouble accessing your addon domain.
Keep in mind once you add your addon domain it could take up to 24 to 48 hours for the
domain to fully propagate.
Every now and again clear your cache in your browser and see if the addon domain is live.
This part takes some patience.
And that is my tutorial video on how to add addon domain in Hostgator.

Iowa City Update: Fireworks Ordinance Reminder - Duration: 2:28.
Ending the new year with a bang must be left to the professionals.
Plus, learn how the City is making it easy to compost your holiday tree.
And finally, learn about the City's budget over breakfast.
We have these stories and more coming right up on Iowa City Update.
As you get ready to ring in the New Year, keep in mind that firework use is not allowed
in Iowa City unless you have a permit.
Outside of novelty fireworks, such as sparklers and snakes,
the use of fireworks are prohibited within City limits.
Police will be enforcing the illegal use of fireworks, which includes a minimum fine of $250.
You can report illegal firework use by calling 319-356-5257.
There are some permitted fireworks displays that will take place in Iowa City on New Year's Eve.
Following a performance at Hancher, there will be fireworks finale that will take place
outside the building beginning at 11:50 p.m.
At midnight, Big Grove Brewery will have a fireworks display in the back its establishment.
Residents living near these areas will want to take note of the firework shows.
As the holiday season wraps up, it's time for those with a tree to think about disposal.
Beginning next Monday, the City will be offering a convenient way that also repurposes holiday trees.
"Iowa City Curbside Customers can compost their natural Christmas Trees from
January 7th to February 1st.
We recommend removing all ornaments and not placing them in a plastic bag."
The trees will be used as part of the City's composting program.
Nothing says municipal budget like bagels.
To kick off the annual sessions, City Council and staff will host Breakfast on a Budget
before the first formal meeting.
The meet and greet will begin this Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall.
Enjoy a light breakfast, and then stick around for the first of two informational
work sessions that will review the proposed budget.
The sessions are January 5th from eight to five and January 16th from one to seven.
Both meetings will be held in Emma Harvat Hall and are open for the public to attend.
As your kids get ready for the end of winter break, so is the Iowa City Public Library Bookmobile.
The Winter and Spring schedule begins on Monday, January 7th.
This library on wheels is able to spread the joy of reading all around our community by
making several stops in a day.
Check out the full schedule at icpl.org/bookmobile.
That's our show for this week.
We'll be back in 2019, with more episodes of Iowa City Update.

RGV is taking you RC creek crawling through the water, mud, grass and rocks!
!!!SUBSCRIBE!!!
Tell us how you think the Ford F-150 RC did on this RC water run!!
Got this New Bright from WalMart to run like a Ford!!!!
... and swim like a fish!!!
We did an RC body swap putting the New Bright F-150
body on our Traxxas TRX 4 Sport chassis
The TRX chassis has some nice upgrades -
RC LED lights, the HobbyWing XeRun
Sensored Brushless ESC/Motor system,
a Traxxas Long Arm Lift Kit, Vanquish SLW Aluminum Beadlock Wheels and 2.2" Proline Hyrax tires.
Out of the box, this is a toy grade RC,
to get it to do what we did … we RC body swapped
the New Bright body onto a hobby grade RC
from Traxxas (TRX4). We're happy with how it came out
- a 1:6 scale RC Ford Rock Crawler ready for RC speed
crawling/RC water crawling.
