17 Most Peculiar Friendships You Probably Didn't Know Exited in WWE

17. Funaki And Shawn Michaels

Now this is probably the oddest addition to this list, as Michaels and Funaki were almost miles apart

on the WWE food chain when they grew close to each other.

Funaki was a definite Shawn Michaels mark before he joined the WWE

,and when he did join the company, he saw himself get to face his idol and also become friends with him.

Not only this, but Funaki also helped Michaels through his time of difficulty when HBK

became a born-again Christian and Funaki being a Christian himself, helped Michaels with his faith and the two bonded over that time.

Funaki would get fired from the WWE a month after Michaels had officially retired from it,

, and even moved to Michael's hometown of San Antonio, Texas in order to live near him.

Funaki would later also become a trainer for Michael's wrestling school and continues to be close to him,

, often encouraging young superstars to watch and learn from Michaels' old matches.

16. Randy Orton & Santino

Randy Orton has been in the WWE for more than a decade now as The Viper

has made quite a lot of friends and enemies during his time in the company.

While one would expect that Orton would only mingle with the "big stars" because of his stature,

that definitely isn't true as Randy was really good friends with Santino Marella.

He even posted a picture on his Twitter account which showed him hanging out backstage with Santino and some other wrestlers,

and has revealed the friendship in interviews as well.

Apparently, Santino helped him out many years ago when Orton got in trouble with the law,

, and the two started hanging out together after that.

Marella may not be in the WWE anymore and has retired from wrestling, but we can be sure that the two of them still keep in touch.

15. Seth Rollins And Cesaro

Seth Rollins and Cesaro are another pair of friends whose time wrestling together

began before they met in WWE.

Both Rollins and Cesaro were part of Ring of Honor at the same time and they managed to pick up where they left off in WWE.

Cesaro and Seth even travel together and when Rollins was out injured leading up to WrestleMania 33,

Cesaro updated cute posts on Twitter to show that he was missing his best friend

and that he was still going to places and ordering his coffee across from an empty chair.

Rollins even responded saying he was missing Cesaro,

The duo even appeared together on an episode of WWE Ride Along,

,which showed just how much fun they have whilst hanging out together on the road.

14. Mark Henry and Daniel Bryan

Henry and Bryan are both gifted athletes, but their styles in the ring are worlds apart

with Henry relying on size and power to crush opponents whereas Bryan uses technical moves to wear away at his foes.

Behind the scenes, both Superstars became friends,

with Henry being one of Daniel's biggest supporters early on in his WWE career.

When Henry and Bryan worked together, " The World's Strongest Man" reportedly

pushed hard for Bryan to get wins over him.

When Bryan retired in 2016, the two acknowledged their friendship on-screen.

13. Jinder Mahal and Braun Strowman:

Although Jinder and Braun may seem like two very different types of people,

bear in mind a wrestling character isn't always a reflection of an individual's persona.

It all started in 2017 when the two big men were involved in an accident after their vehicle hit a deer,

leading to both Superstars requiring help from some wrestlers driving behind them.

Both men have had the push of a lifetime in 2017,

with Mahal becoming WWE Champion, and Strowman receiving the main event treatment throughout the year in 2017 and 2018

12. Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt

Roman and Bray are no strangers to each other, having worked a number

of matches including the program between the Shield and the Wyatt Family.

Apparently, this program together led to not only a professional admiration, but a personal friendship.

Roman and Bray have acknowledged each other's work during interviews,

praising each other's skills and their importance in the WWE.

It's been reported that Bray is constantly in touch with Roman and even visited him in hospital

11. Sasha Banks and Kalisto

These RAW Superstars aren't just co-workers, but close friends.

Reportedly, Sasha and her spouse frequently go on double dates with Kalisto and his spouse

as the couples live close to one another, making it even easier for them to see each other.

Apparently, Banks and Kalisto just can't get enough of one another's company

as they're often seen on social media together and are known to travel together.

On occasion, Kalisto even is seen unmasked, but he covers his face to protect kayfabe.

Sasha Banks has complimented Kalisto's work in the past, listing him as one of wrestling's most underrated stars.

10. The Ascension and Fandango

The team of Tyler Breeze and Fandango aka Breezango has been enjoying some time

in back-stage skits on SmackDown! where they parody popular shows.

Fans who watch the WWE Network show Swerved! have probably seen Fandango hanging out with the Ascension

It may surprise fans to know Fandango and the Ascension are friends,

but probably not as much as the fact the Ascension are still working in the WWE.

9. Dean Ambrose and the Usos

The WWE Universe is aware Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are good friends,

but they might not know Dean is friends with Roman's cousins Jay and Jimmy Uso as well.

. It's not uncommon for close friends to become close with their mutual relatives,

and in this case Dean and the Usos bonded when they worked together in 2016.

That year, Dean worked on SmackDown while Roman worked on RAW, and while they were apart,

Dean frequently rode with the Usos, and the three became close.

Jay and Jimmy even referred to Dean as an unofficial member of the family, due to his friendship with Roman.

8. Nia Jax and Mike Rome:

WWE Superstars aren't just friends with their fellow wrestlers.

Consider the constant contact wrestlers have with the ring announcers

and it shouldn't surprise you Nia Jax and announcer Mike Rome became friends.

The two formed a friendship and like many of the stars mentioned here,

are traveling partners and frequently seen in social media.

Not only is Nia Jax good company, but Rome doesn't have to worry about many people

bothering him with someone as intimidating as Jax next to him.

7.Titus O'Neil and Sami Zayn

It's remarkable the things that can bring people together, resulting in close personal friendships.

While Titus O'Neil and Sami Zayn knew each other's work in the ring,

it was their work out of the ring that led to them developing a mutual respect for each other.

Here, both O'Neil and Zayn were personally involved in charitable causes, activities that led them to become friends.

O'Neil has given motivational speeches (including a TED Talk)

and performed charitable acts while Zayn's charitable work includes helping people in Syria.

Kudos to both men for their charitable acts.

6.Paul Heyman and Maria Kanellis

Paul Heyman and Maria's friendship goes back to their days together

WWE's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling

There, Heyman mentored Maria, reportedly inspiring the manager character she worked

to success in Ring of Honor, New Japan, and Impact Wrestling.

Heyman also lent his decades of experience to Maria and her husband Mike,

counselling them on their careers. Maria's husband Mike credits Heyman with helping get them into the WWE,

, a sign of how friendships can benefit people personally and professionally.

5. Kevin Owens and the Big Show

While it'd be an easy and cheap laugh to say Owens and Show developed their friendship

over repeated trips to the buffet tables at Golden Corral, the real story behind their friendship is

that of Big Show mentoring younger WWE Superstars—in this case Owens.

Owens has publicly praised the Big Show for sharing his experience with him,

and recently posted a picture on social media of him wearing a vintage Big Show shirt.

The Big Show in turn, has discussed how he has confidence in wrestling's future with people like Kevin Owens working in the WWE.

4. Michael Cole and John Cena:

Just as WWE Hall of Famers "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Jim Ross forged a friendship,

so have John Cena and Michael Cole become close due their time in the workplace, and Cole's calling of so many Cena matches.

Jim Ross was a big supporter of Austin during his WWF run and Austin undoubtedly appreciated Ross' support.

Over time, the two became close friends, with the WWF occasionally incorporating their friendship into a storyline.

Michael Cole and John Cena became friends during their time together in the WWE,

which explains why Cena hugged Cole after his kayfabe forced retirement in 2010,

just as Cena would have hugged Cole goodbye if his career really was over.

3. Charlotte Flair and A.J. Styles

These two gifted performers became friends after A.J. moved to SmackDown via the "Superstar Shakeup."

Charlotte and A.J. can be seen on Xavier Woods' UpUpDownDown YouTube channel

where they participated in a video game tournament together.

Charlotte and "The Phenomenal One's" friendship isn't hard to believe as A.J.

bonded with Charlotte's dad "Nature Boy" Ric Flair during their time together in TNA.

There's no doubt all three have tremendous mutual admiration for each other's accomplishments.

2. Vince McMahon and R-Truth

Some fans wonder why R-Truth continues to work in the WWE, despite limited appearances on WWE television.

One reason may be due to Vince McMahon and R-Truth's close friendship.

McMahon is reportedly a huge fan of Truth's work, and sees him as a veteran presence in the locker room.

Fans saw pictures of R-Truth and Mr. McMahon visiting soldiers

during a tour in Afghanistan and it's likely R-Truth will be in the WWE for some time to come

possibly in a backstage position when he retires from the ring.

1.Shinsuke Nakamura and James Ellsworth

While James Ellsworth is no longer in the WWE,

, he formed a friendship with Shinsuke Nakamura during their time together on SmackDown.

Apparently, Nakamura is an avid surfer and tried to teach Ellsworth how to surf, leading to some laughs

While Ellsworth is gone, anything can happen in the WWE so a return is always possible

In the meantime, Shinsuke is also friends with Sin Cara and announcer Greg Hamilton,

which means he has more people to teach surfing to.

Ellsworth can work on his surfing while he plans out his next career move.

The Ending Of Bumblebee Explained - Duration: 6:42.

There's a lot going on in Bumblebee, even for longtime Transformers fans.

If your brain was left as boggled as the Autobot's memory cells after fighting Blitzwing, never

fear.

Let us un-confuse you, and break down the meaning of the end of Bumblebee.

We won't deceive you — there's spoilers ahead.

Bumblebee buzzed into theaters to bring moviegoers a new kind of Transformers film — one focused

more on characters than screen-shaking action sequences.

The origin story brings back the titular Autobot, and also introduces the spunky 18-year-old

Charlie, who discovers him in a scrapyard.

"You sound like a lil bumblebee."

Bumblebee's concluding act pushes its protagonists to be quick on their feet, bold with their

hearts, and unflinching in their choices.

All that's fairly easy for Bee, who proves willing to selflessly drown himself in a flood

if it means taking the Decepticon Shatter with him, and saving humanity.

Charlie shows her bravery by diving into the waters to rescue Bee after the waters overtake

him.

The move is more than just a rescue it also represents Charlie reconnecting with her past

as a state champion diver, an activity she'd rejected after her father's death.

But Charlie's biggest moment of courage was her personal sacrifice letting Bumblebee go

instead of keeping a watchful eye over him herself.

Not only did this demonstrate Charlie's selflessness, it also set her apart from other protagonists

in the six-movie-long Transformers series, who rarely left the sides of their Transformers.

Charlie is no action hero, nor is she a child of destiny she's just a typical teenager,

whose life doesn't really have room for cosmic-scale conflict.

But it's not like she couldn't team up with her old Bug again if she can help save the

world once, she can do it twice, right?

"Like this"

"Not bad!"

On a secluded hill overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, Bee and Charlie share a tearful

goodbye after the final battle.

Bee prepares to head to San Francisco, while Charlie stresses her newfound need to stay

behind in Brighton Falls with her loved ones.

Bumblebee then scans a yellow 1977 Camaro, sparking some jealousy from Charlie, and then

rides onto the Golden Gate Bridge alongside a red Freightliner semi-truck.

The truck turns out to be the movie's Generation-1 version of Optimus Prime, while Bee's sweet

Chevy form is the same one he assumes from the start in 2007's Transformers.

All this seems to create a direct link between the end of Bumblebee and the start of the

first Transformers.

It's sort of a sweet moment but the more you think about the timeline of the movie series,

the less sense it makes.

"You serious?"

The Transformers movie timeline is a total mess of continuity, with every entry in the

series seeming to somehow contradict the one that came before it.

In Michael Bay's first movie, it's explained that the Autobots landed on Earth in 2007,

motivated to show up by a need to find the AllSpark — an ancient all-powerful artifact.

When Bumblebee learns that Sam Witwicky has a map that leads to the AllSpark, he contacts

Optimus Prime, who then touches down on Earth for the first time with three other Autobots.

The Bumblebee movie basically tosses that piece of lore into the trash by having Bee

meet Prime on Earth in 1987, 20 years earlier, on the Golden Gate Bridge.

The lore is further jumbled by the movie's mid-credits scene, which features Bumblebee

and Optimus Prime meeting in a forest, looking up at the sky, and spotting several Autobots

careening toward Earth to begin building their new base — something that just hasn't happened

by the time the original movie begins.

But while this change stomps all over established series canon, it also opens up room for more

prequel movies.

If the future films are as good as Bumblebee, we'll call it a fair trade.

The human antagonist of Bumblebee is Agent Jack Burns, played by none other than John

Cena.

Burns harbors a serious grudge against Bumblebee after the Autobot crash lands on Earth and

fights a destructive battle against the Decepticon Blitzwing at the base of Sector 7, the secret

agency that oversees alien activity.

The cataclysmic battle doesn't just leave Bumblebee without his voicebox — it also

gives Burns a nasty scar.

It's not difficult to see why the military man is quick to team up with the Decepticons

Shatter and Dropkick when they claim Bumblebee is an extraterrestrial criminal.

Naturally, it turns out that the Decepticons are nothing but a pair of lying robo-bullies,

who couldn't care less about humankind.

"They literally call themselves Decepticons.

That doesn't set off any red flags?"

Burns experiences a change of heart when Bumblebee saves him from dying in a helicopter crash

during the movie's final fight.

Realizing he's misjudged the robot, Burns ultimately acknowledges Bumblebee as a soldier

and a hero, giving him a farewell salute while Bee pumps his fist in the air, Breakfast Club-style.

Burns buys Bee and Charlie time to escape before the rest of Sector 7's soldiers show

up.

It's an act of kindness that leaves Burns open to play a sympathetic, or even heroic

role in a potential future movie.

Bumblebee leaves plenty of room open for a sequel.

One mid-credits scene serves as a springboard for more Autobot adventures, while another

grants Charlie some closure and some freedom in the form of a working red convertible.

The arrangement leaves this one particular story feeling wrapped up, but the minds behind

the series haven't been shy about discussing what might come next.

Transformers series producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has described Bumblebee as being not a full

reboot, but rather a new direction for the franchise.

As he said to Entertainment Weekly,

"If Bee's successful, we can have a Bee 2, no doubt.

We have a good sense of where a second movie would go."

There are plenty of potential paths to choose from when thinking about the future of Transformers.

The movie could be the beginning of its own franchise, or the start of a series of spin-offs

focused on other Autobots.

If the film is successful enough, Paramount might greenlight that Optimus Prime solo movie

people have been chattering about, or put into development the Cyberton-set animated

sequel director Travis Knight has said he's keen on.

The studio could take the series years into the past or decades into future to tell all

sorts of new stories.

In the words of Di Bonaventura,

"I think we've got an abundance of choices.

It's really more about narrowing them down than anything else, and deciding which one

we think is the strongest one to go with next."

Whichever direction the Transformers franchise goes from here, we hope it keeps this new

commitment to character and quality.

After five movies' worth of sometimes nonsensical Michael Bayhem, the series has made what's

being called its best movie yet.

As long as the filmmakers keep that up, we'll be there to ride along.

Advance LIGHTNESS 3 (Paragliding Harness Review) - Duration: 15:52.

Carlo tell me about the Lightness 3. very nice rucksack, very comfortable

carrying a small little point they didn't have a little place for a name

tag on the Lightpack 2, that's a small thing but nice. very nice

quality very comfortable to carry, really great.

here we have with the lightness 3, you can see how it's just made to fit perfectly.

I've got a semi lightweight glider in here. You can see how you harness folds nicely

As we'll talk about in a minute, because of the extra protection it doesn't

fold quite as compact the Lightness 2 because of the extra SAS-tec

protector in the back, but it's pretty compact. what you got there then?

Oh, these new flybubble brummel covers, which are very nice!

yes, I just leave them on, pull them down, it's easy.

so Lightness 3, it's fairly lightweight XC harness, pod hanress, and it's a balance of

lightweight (it's not a super lightweight harness, you know for x-Alps flying or

something like that) and it's not a full heavy weight comp harness, it's sort of

semi like what I call a semi lightweight pod harness. it's made to be an everyday

harness. about three kilos for the weight with a standard speed bag and all the

features the medium size I think is 3.25kg including everything.

we've got here is very similar protector to the lightness 2 if not the same so

it's a good size it passes for the certification but it's not

I think the protector like you have in heavier harnesses.

Does it compress easily?

It compresses a bit it's quite firm so when you fold it up it's fairly firm

not as stiff as say for example the woody valley GTO light, that's really firm

this is somewhere between them a little bit softer than that. okay so the

reserve the handle sits inside this pocket nicely there and ... that's the reserve there

I've got a Beamer 3 Large in there, it's my reserve. Is there any protection once the reserve is out?

With the Lightness 3 there's a substantial difference I think to the lightness 2 in that yes

there is, the SAS-tec protector runs under your back

you do have with the likeness 2 as well the

comfort foam there which is about so thick, but with the Lightness 3 in

addition you've got the SAS-tec protector which you can kind of see if

you come close and see that there and there's this special high-impact

protector so when you pull the reserve you've still got that. that runs

all the way up to the back

right the way up to inside that pocket there

It's apparently a very high-tech protector that's made for

impact and penetration protection and underneath that you've got what they

call a comfort foam but that also will obviously act as a bit of a protector

but it's not that part's not sort of certified protection.

[Greg] yeah thicker than I was expecting, it's actually quite a big cushion.

yeah yeah that as

much as anything contributes to the comfort on your back and the

stiffness of the harness to support your back with a packing size okay it's a

moderate size I'd call it moderate it's not big it's quite deep and it's

perfectly adequate, I think it's optimized, if you're a pilot

that carries a whole load of rubbish you're going to struggle to fit in in it but

then you're not gonna aim for a lightweight harness you might not you

know if you carry a whole load of rubbish you're not prioritizing your

weight. so it's pretty optimized for what you'd want to carry. that's part of the

reason that the lightpack 3 works really well with it because it's a more

compact rucksack than most so fits in there really nicely rolled up. It's made for it.

While we're looking in the back you've got a little connector that's quite

nifty, it's a good example of Advance's attention to detail.

that's for hanging your Hydra pack on

and you can attach it there and there's a pocket for that to go in and then you've got your H-2-0 there.

For me the Lightness 2 was already one of the most comfortable harnesses around

in its class certainly one of if not the most comfortable

and with the Lightness 3 it's even more

comfortable on the back because it's just got more stiffness in the back

without being rigid it's just supportive. The most important change is here

between the Lightness 2 and 3 and they've changed you have a

look at these straps, they've changed the geometry of the straps. They've also

raised the hang points, quite a bit, they're about three or four centimeters

higher than the lightness 2 - which is quite a bit.

I was actually a little bit concerned that it was going

to end up with feeling like you're too low

in the harness and not have enough roll control. It has just smoothened things out.

Now one thing I haven't done yet is I haven't flown the harness in really good

thermic conditions I'm hoping to do that in Tenerife soon but flying it and doing

wing overs and playing around you just notice the harness is just smoothened out

but it seems so far it feels very nice, it feels like it's not too dampened

The leg straps are the same as the Lightness 2 and the setup is very similar if not the same.

What they have done on this harness is lots of little tweaks which just

refine an already pretty refined harness

for example it seems like a

small thing but L2 users will notice this is different instead of just line

they've added these little webbing straps. I always found with the

Lightness 2 the string would get caught in the tread of your feet

make it a bit fiddly ... this just makes it a little bit nicer to use and it's noticeable.

so it's nice little tweaks like that

other changes; this is a bit more for adjustment and they've just made the

adjustment a little easier, rather than just knots they put these little balls

which makes it really quite easy to slide up and down so you can just pull

on it and slide it up and down. I want to leave it how I've got it, if that's OK?

Ballast area, same sort of size, 5 litres?

yeah roughly that.

but is a good 5 litre yes, perfect for my concertina bag and

the helmet bag and soft things but actually just like the

lightness 2 it contributes to the support. it's fine without anything in there but

if you add that it actually improves it makes it even better around the bum nice

and supportive so it is noticeable. Don't over ram it, same

as I found with other harnesses, if you really over ram it that starts to interfere

a bit. the same with your back, this is the same for any harness it's

important, if you over ram it you start to notice it's kind of pushing

into your back and affects your comfort. There's two different speed bags so

this is the standard speed bag which to me feels the same as the lightness 2

so we've not seen the light speedbag yet so it's obviously for people who are

really concerned about weight I think most pilots are going to want to go for

the standard speed bag that's my feeling because it's not heavy and it's going to

be a bit more durable. the other thing, the other major difference is that only

with the standard speed bag do you get the option of adding on the windscreen,

which is actually quite nifty. this is what you get with the lightness 3

it's like a helmet bag and then there get the screen in place it's

actually quite easy to get on and then you just line up the poppers and pop it in.

I have to admit before I flew with this and saw it I was quite skeptical about the

windscreen I thought you know it looks a bit, does it really need it on this kind

of harness? But actually having flown with it now a bit ... it's not

going to be something everybody wants but I did notice

flying in cold conditions, it takes the wind off your face a bit and takes the

wind chill off your body, and so that was noticeable. it's not a

huge difference, it's not like from whooosh to nothing which to be honest,

I want to be able to feel the wind a bit on my face to feel what my

airspeed is, but it does actually work nicely. Other benefits that I didn't think

of is that 1. it protects your instruments from the risers hitting them, as you can

see here it's actually pretty tough, I thought it might be a bit fragile it's

actually pretty tough. For example if you've got your gloves you're

standing on takeoff it's really quite convenient to just stuff them in there

small thing but it's actually quite useful.

[Greg] You can have one of those little Hawaiian hula dancer girls on.

Maybe a little Hindu elephant god thing.

Or you could throw your crisps in there.

You also did some filming with your GoPro just hidden in there? We'll have a look at that footage.

Because it protects the microphone from the wind.

So you want some audio, what am I supposed to say?

now you say 'I want some audio' I can't think of anything to say!

Here I am, flying about, scratching on the hill.

very comfortable this Lightness 3, lovely it is!

it's a beautiful day ... ish

okay that'll do it

For people are flying long flights very cold conditions or on

the speed bar a lot those pilots are gonna notice the benefit other pilots

who are doing just a little bit of recreational flying and things like that

maybe they're not gonna bother with it.

[Greg] Did it get in the way when you're ground handling, launching, leaning forward, it doesn't get in your face?

No I didn't notice it at all and I run and jump

around and ground handle quite a lot and I found I was doing all that and in fact

what I noticed was is that my instruments were getting like

protected from the risers smacking on them so it's nice.

A compact harness that's versatile, good for just normal recreational flying always good

to have some have the Harley in the soundtrack.

well aficionados will probably tell me that's not a Harley bonus points for

YouTube commenters if you can tell what motorbike it is.

So yes for pilots

looking for an all-round recreational XC harness, it's really people who

particularly want to go into XC flying. It's compact, you can use it for

hike and fly it's not something you're going to go and do racing hike and fly with,

obviously the lightweight speed bag brings

it down to 2.75 kg.

You could take out the comfort foam, you can take the SAS-tec out

you can even take the protector out of the bottom and replace that with your

sleeping bag and all. I'm hoping to really test the harness out in

some good thermal conditions, I'm going to Tenerife over the Christmas period so

I'm gonna give it a test out there.

Nancy and I are going out to Colombia late

January gonna really test it out and some thermic conditions and compare it

to some other harnesses to see what it's like. For pilots

who want something for say, if they want to do some wagga (mild aerobatics) you can do

that with the lightness three but that's not its forte.

Pilots looking for a lightweight XC harness that want a hammock-style harness

that are not looking for a seat plate and they're really primarily focused on XC

flying then this is a fantastic option.

It's a well-built cross-country harness and very comfortable.

I've had a lightness 2 since the early ones came out.

I can fly any harness I want and I really like that harness.

I've been looking for something to replace it and I think for me, this does it!

Do You Know What's In Your Tampon? | Madge the Vag | Scary Mommy - Duration: 4:01.

(upbeat music)

- If you're a tampon user, you'll use almost

twelve thousand in a lifetime.

Now that's a lot of cotton.

(upbeat introductory music)

Twat's Up Ladies, I'm Madge the Vag

and today, we're pulling out (pop) all the stops.

To find out what's up with your tampon.

Are ya super, are ya regular, are ya sporty?

- Maybe on the sporty side, super sporty.

- Just regular.

- Exuberant.

- (laughs) Exuberant tampon.

Mine would be the, you know,

the let's go out and have a drink tampon.

- Yeah, great, ours can hang out.

(bouncy music)

- Dr. Bartalot, thanks for comin' in.

Now let's talk about tampons.

First question, what are they made of?

They look like cotton balls on a stick

or some cotton candy.

- Usually they're a mixture of both cotton and rayon.

There are some that are 100% cotton,

but most of them are a blend.

- And that's okay to put in there?

- So the rayon that they use now is not the same rayon

that they used back in like the 70's and 80's,

that was associated with higher risks

of dioxene contamination.

The dioxene was originally coming from the

bleaching process, using chlorinated bleach.

Now, with the FDA regulating tampons,

they're no longer using chlorine to bleach tampons.

It's more bleaching with hydrogen peroxide.

So you don't really have to worry about

dioxene poisoning from tampons anymore.

- So it's not so much about them getting bleached,

it's what's bleaching them.

- It's the by-products from using chlorinated bleach.

But even cotton gets bleached,

cause cotton isn't all perfectly white.

So even if you're using 100% cotton,

it's still gonna undergo a bleaching process.

It's just now, we're using non-chlorinated bleach,

so you're not getting additional dioxene

from the bleaching process.

- Could I get a non-bleached product?

- Not that I've seen.

- And why do we bleach them, just the look?

- Well, if you have a dark wood, and then you're

trying to see if there's blood or

how much blood is on there,

you're not going to be able to tell.

If it's gray, basically, the whole point is,

you want to see how much you're bleeding.

So white versus red is pretty contrasting in color.

- So I've heard there are organic ones.

Is that a thing, does it even matter?

- Cotton can be treated with certain pesticides.

An organic cotton is not treated with those same pesticides.

- Can you kinda do your research?

Like, are there ingredients on tampon boxes

to see if there's any real differences?

- It doesn't tell you the exact composition of the tampons.

It does tell you what it may contain on the side of the box.

But it doesn't tell you the percentage of each ingredient.

- So it's hard to know, really, what you're getting anyway.

- Right, the FDA does regulate it,

but it's not disclosed to the public.

- Ew, how about the scented tampons, that sounds nice.

- I know you know how I feel about scented products;

deodorants, sprays, they pretty much

all have the same effect on the vagina.

You don't know who's gonna respond to what,

and you're adding something that's

not natural, and it's scented.

It could possibly irritate the vagina,

whether the pad is scented, it might irritate the

outside of the vagina, the vulva area.

If it's a tampon, it could irritate

the mucosa of the vagina.

So, as long as you're cleaning your vagina as you should,

and you're changing your tampon every four to six hours,

it's not gonna smell bad so you don't need

to add an additional scent to it.

- True or false?

Tampons were used by medics in wars.

- False.

- That seems practical.

- True?

- True, to absorb blood.

- Penetration trauma,

penetration trauma, that's what they called it.

Say you get shot in the arm, tampon!

- Oh wait, really?

- Yeah, yeah.

Wow, that's a whole lot of information.

Here's Why Costco Really Checks Your Receipt Before You Leave - Duration: 3:30.

Every Costco shopper has been there.

You've just spent hours loading up your cart with everything on your shopping list, and

more than a few things you didn't even know you needed until you saw them.

You waited in line, you made it through the checkout, and you're wondering how on earth

all of this is going to get in your car.

First, though, you have to go through the exit receipt check.

It's a weird thing, right?

It's like driving along and being followed by a police car.

Even if you haven't done anything wrong, it makes it feel like you have.

They're watching you, they're checking to make sure you paid for everything, and they

want to protect themselves against sticky-fingered customers.

Like you.

Right?

Actually, like that cop who just happened to turn in behind you, there's nothing really

sinister about it.

A lot of what they're doing is looking out for your best interests.

One Costco-centric Reddit thread had employees sharing what they were looking for, and part

of it is confirmation that the number of items in the cart is actually the number that's

on the receipt.

One employee shared some eye-opening figures, and claimed their store kept track of how

much merchandise was stopped at the door because it wasn't paid for.

It was in the tens of thousands of dollars, but the official line is pretty different.

MSN did a little digging into just what else those exit greeters are trained to look for,

and found they're actually checking your receipt to make sure your transaction went smoothly.

Ever get home, check your own receipt, and realize you've been overcharged or one of

your items was accidentally rung up multiple times?

They're looking for that so they can fix it before you get out the door.

Still doubtful?

As one employee explained on Reddit:

"Trust me, we're not loss prevention, we have loss prevention in the store and that's not

us."

One former employee wanted to clear the air on Reddit, and said a big part of their job

is also making sure customers don't forget some of the things they pay for, but have

to pick up separately before they leave.

It's easy to forget things like gift cards, or merchandise that has to be retrieved from

inside cases or behind counters, after all.

They're also looking to make sure any store promotions were properly applied, because

hey, technology isn't perfect, right?

Neither are people, and that's why Kevin Heuer, a Costco general manager, told the San Francisco

Chronicle they were also looking to make sure cashiers didn't miss anything in the bottom

of customers' baskets.

Costco isn't the only store to employ exit greeters, most of the warehouse-style stores

do.

When MSN reached out to Sam's Club corporate, they said they purposely hire friendly, chatty

exit greeters as a way of making sure app-related transactions went smoothly, to make sure they

found everything, address complaints, and share information about upcoming promotions.

And Costco representatives say the same thing, with one employee saying they'd caught hundreds

of dollars in overcharges, and had immediately helped the customers get their refunds.

So is the policy legal, or is it a violation of your rights?

In Costco's case, they're perfectly within their rights because it's written into the

membership agreement you voluntarily signed.

It's the same for other warehouse-type stores that have similar memberships, like Sam's

Club and BJ's.

In other words, we don't recommend running out without showing your receipt.

But that brings up an important question: What if you do refuse?

In 2013, Timothy Walls refused to show his receipt for his $102.66 purchase and the employee

he tried to bypass grabbed his cart and wouldn't let him leave.

Walls shoved the employee, and that's when another employee stepped in with some martial

arts, and broke Walls' leg in several places.

Walls sued for $610,000, but lost when the judge ruled he had pushed an employee first.

Still, demanding to see your receipt is not OK in most stores.

Consumer advocate Edgar Dworsky says that if you're in a conventional retail store where

you didn't sign anything agreeing to allow employees to inspect your receipt or your

cart when you're leaving, you don't have to hand it over.

That return trip to get your refund for a double-charge?

That's on you.
