Do you know, which invention literally made our planet 'small' in size?

Take a guess!!

Yes, you guessed it right!

We are talking about 'Aeroplane' that makes us go to distant places in less time.

But how did this dream of flying in the air come true and who all were behind this?..

Let's find out.

The concept in air saw the light of the day when Montgolfier Brothers

invented the hot air balloon in 1783.

But there was one problem with these hot air balloons that they could not be directed to a location.

Soon George Cayley invented gliders, which worked on the non-motorized flying mechanism.

Post gliders there were many attempts to make a motorized plane i.e. airplane

but none of the models could do a flight test successfully.

Finally, in 1903, 2 American aviation engineers, 'Orville Wright' and his elder brother, 'Wilbur Wright'

invented the first airplane.

In the first tests, the best flight recorded is said to be of 892 feet,

which was airborne for about a minute.

After this, the Wright brothers kept working on the flying concept and finally in 1909,

with the help of US military contract they made a full-fledged airplane.

The aviation technology kept getting advanced and gradually we progressed from simple planes

to Airbus and then Boeings, fighter jets and Concorde that is faster than the speed of sound.

According to people, it is believed that India's Shivkar Bapuji Talpade invented the airplane

8 years before the Wright Brother

Making humans fly like birds is definitely one of the most exciting and

amazing inventions of all time..

which aptly justifies our title - Science Marvels.
