Bored at work? Your brain is trying to tell you something. | Big Think Top Ten 2018 | Dan Cable - Duration: 5:37.

Well about two years ago I stumbled on a piece of neuroscience that just stunned me.

As a psychologist, I wish somebody had told me more about this but what I learned is that

there appears to be a part of our brain called the ventral striatum, that's the technical

term, or you also could call it the seeking system.

And this system is urging us to explore the boundaries of what we know.

It's urging us to be curious.

And, by the way, I mean innately.

I mean children six months old, three months old.

If you give them some toy they love it for a little while.

As they get used to it, your car keys become more interesting.

It's the new and it's the desire to learn.

And evolutionarily this system was developed to help us, to keep us learning.

When I learned about this seeking system it really turned me on because it started to

give me an insight into why disengagement from boring work, that may not be a bug.

That might be a feature.

In the 2015-2016 Gallup polls, the evidence is that about 70 percent of people are not

engaged in what they do all day long and about 18 percent of people are repulsed, they're

actively disengaged from what they do.

And I think that the reason why I say this is a problem, and it could even be called

an epidemic is because work is mostly what we do.

We spend so much more time at work than with our families or with those things called hobbies.

And so I think that the pervasiveness of people feeling like work is a thing that we have

to shut off from, a thing that we can't be our best selves, a thing that we have to get

through on the way to the weekend.

I think that is a sort of humanistic sickness and while it is bad for people, that's the

humanistic bit, it also is really bad for organizations who get lackluster performance.

I think that it's interesting to think about when this all started happening and I didn't

live back in the 1850s, but all the records suggest that you could buy shoes and those

shoes would be sold by some store, some cobbler.

And maybe there would be three people that worked there.

Rarely would there be five people that worked there.

And while that probably wasn't the best work in the world, each of the people in the store

would watch the customer walk in and then they'd make a shoe for that customer.

And they'd take leather and they'd sew it and then they'd give it.

And around 1890 we got this different idea as a species where we should not sell two

pairs of shoes each day, but two million.

And this idea of scaling up had certain implications for how work felt.

And part of that was because it was decided that the way to do this would have extreme

efficiency by breaking the work into really small tasks where most of the people don't

meet the customer.

Most of the people don't invent the shoe.

Most of the people don't actually see the shoe made from beginning to end.

And this idea of removing the meaning from the work was intentional.

And the idea of removing the curiosity from the job was intentional.

For Henry Ford curiosity was a bug, it was a problem and he needed to stamp it out in

the name of reliability and quality.

Now I'm not saying we're still acting just like the 1900s, but I am saying that's when

we cut our teeth on management practices and the way we use control systems and punishments

and extrinsic rewards to kind of cull people out into doing really repeated and sometimes

tedious tasks again and again and again without having a sense of the bigger picture or who

uses the final product.

I think that that's part of where it came from.

So a small organization in any industry - selling toner cartridges, selling fruit, selling shoes.

If you're just starting up and you've only got 30 or 50 people working there everybody

is curious.

Everybody is doing everything.

There aren't really tight role descriptions.

The job titles are not burned into your flesh.

The frame of your job is not sacred.

And so you could be a delivery person but then if you see the competitor do something

then you can be corporate espionage and you can take back information and then you can

get into strategy and help reinvent a response to what you saw.

And that's actually not only acceptable, it's desirable.

The CEO loves you for doing this.

When you get to have 50,000 people in an organization you're supposed to stay in your lane.

The expectation is there are a set of KPIs, key performance indices, and this is the way

that we measure you in your job.

And yes, it might be that you have ideas about competitive advantage and what the competitors

are doing but there's no time for that because we need you to do these things that we've

already set aside for you again.

So I think it's, in my own opinion, a lot less about which industry and a lot more about

the culture and the expectations for what different employees can bring to the party.

out of the total wealth created in 2017 -18. 82% went to the richest one percent

of the global population and surprisingly 50% of the global

population received nothing.

Additionally, a forecast states that in the year 2030 almost half a billion

people will still be living on less than 1.90 $ a day

by the year 2025, 8% of all deaths will be under 5 years ,3% among

5 to 19year olds, 27% among 20 to 64 year olds

and 63% among people over 65.

According to the Pew Research Center survey of 2013- 23% of married

people had been married before, compared with just 13% in 1960. roughly

4/10 Americans that is 41% know someone who uses online dating and

29% know someone who has entered a long-term relationship

via online dating. Nowadays you must have seen your closed ones struggling

with relationship issues because of one of these factors listed below.

Are you yourself facing one of these health issues today. These are the top

common health problems right now

do you think about one of these financial

problems every single day. Imagine right now, what would it be like if you

received the best of health wealth and relationship and to receive this we just

need to understand this one thing that how your subconscious mind can work to

eliminate all your problems.

Let us break this concept together imagine a horse rider riding a horse. Our

subconscious mind is 90% like that horse which is powerful and

conscious is 10% like a horse rider, but it controls the subconscious

mind as a horse rider controls a horse.

you need to control your subconscious mind to control your life, you must start

by controlling your thoughts in your mind

to fully manifest your wildest desires.

Remember your thoughts have their own vibrational frequencies and it attracts

similar vibrations from people, events, ideas, and even financial status and

opportunity, but they also imprint your subconscious mind blueprint into your

lives. Don't you think, this conscious mind can in actually be working against

you.

You might find yourself thinking about the secret and the law of attraction

right now, but the only way to keep yourself focused on your desires and

manifest them fully is to visualize them as if you have them already in the

present and you need emotions which they bring to you

when everything including - the law of attraction - meditation - visualization

have failed. WHY? what if I say, you can re-program your brain to automatically

have unlimited wealth - happiness - pleasure - love - freedom - confidence. What is it

like when your subconscious is programmed to force your attention to

see what it really wants you to see. This happens only when your conscious and

subconscious operates together. To your surprise

this is possible. HOW? You have to understand this one thing - The brain wave

which is THETA WAVE is responsible for learning -memory - creativity - deep

meditation - hypnotic imaging and trance, work as a portal to speak directly to

your subconscious

Meet Eddie Sergey, the man who introduced this 15-minute manifestation technique

and this guy has changed his life from a feral, homeless, hippie kid. He was

struggling to overcome his brain cancer death sentence. He was struggling to eat

because he couldn't even effort the dollar menu at Burger King.

This man was struggling to feel safe in such an unsafe feeling world

and to a self-made to financially abundant entrepreneur.

Today you might find yourself stuck in some situation but imagine, what if you

manifest a HOUSE you think of, a CAR you want to own, a LIFE you want to live, The

BANK BALANCE you want to have, the best HEALTH you ever felt. An ageless

appearance, unconditional love and imagine the true freedom which you can

have

right now. GET THE BEST OF YOUR LIFE. See the description

so what we're gonna do is we're going to start off with a knee hug.

okay so we're grabbing the knee pull straight on up. great to get those hips

loose. all right I want to make sure that I'm pointing my toes right on up to the

ceiling okay

and from here we're gonna go into a toe tap so I'm gonna bend down and tap

that opposite toe. sit back opposite toe okay nice and slow

I'm raising those toes right up to the ceiling and just tapping now if we can

tap that toe that's okay all right so what I want you to do in that case is

just hit the shin or knee. all right well so before you go down

it's very important that you set your hips back. all right

so I don't want to see bending down with my rounded back. that's what's going to lead

to injury so what I want you to do is set the hips back and come down and tap

so that is two awesome hamstring stretches that you can do. we're going to

add one more hamstring stretch it's called a Frankenstein kick. alright so

you're gonna alternate leg raise keep your posture up. great for balance

also continuing to activate those hamstrings. a lot of times we don't

activate the back side especially if we've been sitting all day.

all right now from here we're going to do a foot scoop. so I'm going to

scoop on up grab hold scoop grab hold remember keeping the

posture straight on up chest up tall core engaged so belly button drawn into

the spine right here it's great for the hips loosen up those hips

all right and then from here we're just going to turn it up just a bit with

those high knees ok and then we're gonna go

butt kicks

alright back and forth

you gotta get that body warm okay some small shoulder

small circles wider widest

from here small circles reverse wider widest

from here turning side side

bend over a little lower send those hips back. A little old school

baby. this is my mating call baby. my mating call. and other way.

all right now we're ready go baby let's get into

3 Keys to Victory 49ers vs Rams (2018) - Duration: 5:21.

Ayo! It's Bryan here. Today, going to be talking about the San Francisco 49ers

as always. Doing another Top 3 video. This time, talking about the things that

49ers need to do in order to quote-unquote

really upset the Rams because the oddsmakers as of a couple of days ago

had the Rams as a 10 point favorite over the Niners. I don't know how that

happens. The Niners, they're not playing like crap. They're playing really well

for these last couple of weeks, but I think they're doing that because the

Rams I guess their quote-unquote at home and they need to really fight for

this win in order to get a bye week because that's all they need to do is

get a win. That's really interesting there, but going to be talking about things

that they need to do to pull an upset against them. Going to be doing that, but

before I do, please "Like" and Subscribe to support my channel. That would definitely help me

out a lot. If you want to buy a t-shirt/coffee mug, link it in the

description. Link in the card section. 20% off. DB49ers if you want

to buy one. That would be really helpful and yeah. Let's just get into it. The Top

3 keys to victory for the 49ers against the LA Rams this Sunday. Coming

in at number three for the 49ers is play aggressive. Now, this is the last game of

the regular season for the Niners and the rest of 2018. For me, I would

recommend the 49ers if there's anything they can do to win this game just do

whatever you can. Go for 4th downs. Do any crazy trick plays. You might as well

experiment with anything you need to do before the season ends. Before any

meaningful football is over. So Kyle Shanahan, Robert Saleh, all you guys, all

the players. If you want to try anything new. If you want to take a lot of risk, I

would definitely take a lot of risk like two-point conversions. That might hamper

the team to win this game, but hey. What do we gain and what do we lose from

winning and losing this game? That's what I really recommend. Do anything you can

to win this game and you got to be unconventional in my opinion against the

Rams and hopefully, they do. If they do that, then they have a chance to win this game

and they can experiment some things for 2019. That's just me. You know, a lot of

people don't like to take risk, but if I'm Kyle Shanahan, I'm definitely going to

be taking some risk in my last game of the regular season. Coming in at number two

is stop CJ Anderson, running back. Todd Gurley has been ruled out of this game

against the Niners. So, he will NOT be playing this game for this Sunday. So,

it's going to be CJ Anderson starting for this team I'm assuming and yeah. He had a

pretty awesome day against the Cardinals last Sunday, although it was the Cardinals,

although they were suckish. He ran for almost

150 yards. I think over 150 yards to be exact to defeat the

Cardinals and you know, we got to stop him. We don't want to field day like

Gurley had a couple of weeks ago when he played us and he had a pretty good

day against us. If they can do that, they can hamper the running game and also, you have

to force Jared Goff to throw the ball and he hasn't been the best at doing

that for the past couple of weeks. You see the Bears and Eagles game. He's been

really bland in my opinion. He's been turning the ball over for whatever

reason. That's very unusual. I'm pretty sure Sean McVay's talking to him

about that, but yeah. If you can stop the run, you can stop Anderson, then we'll

make Jared Goff throw the ball and hopefully, we can get some interceptions.

I don't know. I mean, this team the 49ers, they haven't been good at

creating turnovers, but hopefully they can. They got two forced fumbles last

week against the Bears. Now it's time for them to do something and get some

interceptions hopefully for the last game of 2018. If they can do that, they can

stop Anderson, they can make Goff throw the ball, that'd be a little bit easier

time for the defense because this defense for the 49ers, they've been

improving in my opinion. Coming in at number one as the biggest key to victory for

the 49ers if they want to beat the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday is stop the man,

Aaron Donald. Yes, this guy's a freaking beast as I mentioned. I know all you

guys, including people in San Francisco know that this guy is an awesome player.

He's one of the top defensive players in the NFL, along with Khalil Mack from the

Chicago Bears. If they can stop this guy, then it'll be an easier time. The 49ers,

they actually did an okay job on stopping Khalil Mack. He didn't get any

sacks against us last Sunday and I'm pretty sure it's possible against Aaron

Donald. I know the last meeting. Donald have about four sacks against Beathard, but

hopefully, that does not happen against Mullens and I think this team is better

with Mullens as the quarterback. So, I don't expect him to have a career day

like he did against Beathard a couple of weeks ago. If he does get another four

sack game, I think he's going to beat Michael Strahan's record for the most

sacks in the season. Right now, he is at 19.5 sacks. That is first

in the NFL if he keeps the trajectory that he's going. If he can have a game

like he did against Beathard a couple of weeks ago when we first met up, then he

probably will break the record for 22.5 sacks, but hopefully he does not

do that. I prefer Aaron Donald to have zero sacks.

That'd be awesome, but yeah. You got stop this guy in order to hamper

their defense because you know, their defense in my opinion is a little

overrated. They're not the best defense. They're supposed to be with him, Suh. With

Talib and Peters, but they've been kind of underperforming in

my opinion. So yeah. Stopping #99. That is a key right there. That is a big goal in my

opinion and if they could do that, then they will have a very good chance of winning

this game. That is my last key to victory. Last video preview for the NFL in 2018

for the 49ers. It's kind of disappointing that we didn't make the playoffs, but hey.

Hopefully in 2019 around this time of the year, we could be talking about the

playoffs for the 49ers and that'd be an awesome story right there. Going to to keep it

like that you guys. Please let me know what you guys got for this game. Any

final predictions? Any final thoughts? What are the keys to victories for

this game against the Rams? Please, I'd like to hear what you guys have to say and if

you guys like this, please "Like" and Subscribe to support my channel. That would

definitely help me out a lot and yeah. I'll probably catch you guys up

Monday, New Year's Eve when I talk about this game and in the following weeks, I

will be talking about 2018 as a whole season. The good, the bad and the ugly.

I'll see y'all then. Bye guys. Love y'all. Enjoy the game. I'll see y'all after. Go

Niners!

Photoshop modern artwork tutorial - create a space collage - Duration: 10:06.

what's up guys Fred here and today we're going to create this amazing artwork

as you can see it looks kinda magical I would say and here we have these

beautiful lines with this beautiful glowing space or I don't know what else

can we call this and I posted on Instagram a few months ago and it

went pretty good, it got like 254 likes and I was asking people what would

actually name this thing and they were saying like glowing shadows or whatever

else anyway like she is a galaxy you know you can also come with some

interesting names but anyway doesn't really matter let's get started so first

of all let's go to photoshop let's go to file and new

and we are going to create project with width 1000 height 1 250 it must be

pixels here that's very important resolution 300 column mode RGB color and

let's press create so if you want to follow along and get exactly the same

images what I would suggest you to do is for example this we have here two images

that we are going to work with first one is this image and if you want to

download it just go to unsplash and then / @ lily pad like that this is a woman

that actually I'm sorry this is a woman that actually made this image so yeah

you can download it here and use it in your own project and the second image

that we are going to use actually is going to be this image here and you can

also download it you have to go to unsplash and then to Jesse Bowser

so you can find the link here basically anyway so let's now take the image and

this is the first image and put it inside Photoshop and first of all let's

make sure there are no empty spaces left let's make it bigger let's press okay so

and also let's go to layers and delete this background layer because we don't

really need it cause the first thing that you will notice is that we are

going to have our pattern basically our processing the space thing only on the

white color and that's actually pretty easy to do so first of all let's take

just any image doesn't really matter if you take the

image for example you can take any patterns that you want to use it doesn't

really matter if you use my pattern or not I'm just gonna go with this one

let's say let's just put let's say is this way yeah let's put it here and

let's make this big like this okay so as I said we can use any pattern you can

just go to unsplash and type here pattern and you'll find different images

and you can use any of them so what do we have to do let's turn this off let's

now select this image go to select color range and now for example we can press

on the white color and if I press on white you will see here that we have all

everything that is white is actually selected everything that is black is not

selected so here you can play with fuzziness for example if I make this

higher we have more selected white if I make this less we have less white

selected so make this somewhere in the middle like this and press ok and now we

get this selection that has selected only the white colors so when we have

this selection let us choose our pattern let's turn it on and now when your

pattern is selected you I can press here and see what happens now we see our

pattern only on the white spaces on the right places so for example if I turn

this off now pattern turns its own pattern if I turn the image off as you

can see we can see where the pattern is actually located so that's pretty cool

that basically means we can now use any pattern we want to so for example let's

say you want to change the pattern to something different so we can just press

right here and then we can go to replace contents and choose any other image for

example this one here and you see you can see the pattern is replaced by get

against the problem is that this pattern is too small so let's say we want to

make it bigger of course what do we have to do first of all press here so there

is no link between the size of the mask and the size of the image because we

want to change the size of the image we want to make the image bigger but at the

same time we want to make sure the mask doesn't change so we can press on say

and again if you don't know how masks rock

actually works go to my youtube channel and in the search type there mask and

you will see I have the two lessons regarding how masks rock so choose this

is your pattern and then just go to edit free transform and make sure you

increase the size I would also rotate this like this so now let's press ok as

you can see again we change the pattern so you can try different you can try out

different like patterns if you want to and I think you are probably notice here

that we have here this kind of white line which actually looks really really

bad I would say and there actually few a few things you can do first of all let's

delete this mask here so just take the mask and put it in the trash bin turn

this off select your image again go to select color range and now select again

the white colors but this time makes the fuzziness to the maximum okay let's just

try this out also you can get closer and for example you can take this plus tool

and add more colors to select so for example we selected all the white colors

now I want also to select the gray colors so if I press it also selected

the great colors and like this we make sure we have less borders so let's press

ok and also make prices to the max so I guess you can see now our selection is

much bigger which is good now if we go here turn this on and create the pattern

and see what happens now it looks much much better true true so when we did

that finally let's go and grab our pattern

that we were using I mean for example this one let's bring this here so again

let's press ok here ups and again we were using different patterns just for

experiment I want I wanted to show that you can use any other pattern and create

something that belongs to you some some unique artwork that is yours and not

just copy what I did so let's just turn this on and the problem here is that we

have here this legs and is like if we for exam

if I take this pattern and I put it to this image so for example let's turn

this off now we can take this mask basically and just move it up and when

you see the selected layer just release and as you can see we have now this

pattern on we have now basically this mask on this pattern and the problem is

that right now we can see the legs which is really bad so I just go back I'm

sorry one minute I am sorry wait let me just

let's see with me for a second ok so now let's create in your empty wear okay now

we want to make sure we remove the legs here and for example now we can choose

Spot Healing Brush tool here the first one and the Spot Healing Brush tool is

going to help us to remove the legs that's why we go here you go here we

make this adult with bigger and even even bigger I would say like this we

also make sure you have your content that were selected make sure you have

here sample always selected also make sure you have your doing is on a new

layer ok that's very important and now for example we can try to remove this

her legs or his legs I don't know and now it's do the same here and look

perfect no evidence of legs at all so now we have to make sure that we have to

put both of them in the mask in order to do that we have to create a group so

select this layer now hold hold ctrl or comment and select the second pattern

this where and not just press here on the group when you press on the group as

you can see another group for example if I press here I can open the group if I

press here again I can close my group and now what I wanted you to do yes I

want you to do that take this mask here and bring it up like this and just

release it and see what happens now this mask is on this group and that's why

everything that is in this group is going to be in the mask automatically so

perfect now we can like delete this thing

need and that's it basically you see how easy was that let me see actually how

long is this tutorial just nine minutes I mean that's nothing guys come on and

what actually so I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial if you want to get

more make sure you subscribe because I'm creating daily daily cool video

The Thoroughbred Park | History | Lexington | Kentucky | Subtitles | USA - Duration: 3:16.

Josh: So tomorrow, and this will be a good video guys for you too...blah!

So tomorrow...don't poke me while I'm trying to do it again.

Good morning everyone! So I would like to welcome you from Kentucky. So what we're going be

doing today is we're going show you guys Lexington, and we have no idea what's

here. I tried looking up things on TripAdvisor - what to see, what to do -

there's not a whole lot listed, so as of right now I don't even know what

we're going see and do. So we're going wander around and I guess that's exactly

what you'll see. So for those who may not be aware, Kentucky is known for a couple

things: bourbon and horse racing. So the Kentucky Derby is probably one of

the most famous horse races in North America, if not the world, so we're going

see a lot of things pertaining to the Kentucky Derby and horse racing and of

course we're going to partake in that.

The Kentucky Derby is a horse race that is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky,

Horses must be 3 year old thoroughbreds to race the 2 km long track.

It is commonly known as the "most exciting two minutes in sports" as it takes about two minutes to complete the first race.

It is also called the "Run for the Roses" for the blanket of roses draped over the winner.

The race has been held every year since 1875 - even during both World Wars.

Lexington, the horse, was a thoroughbred race horse who won 6 out his first 7 races.

He became the most successful horse in the second half of the 19th century, leading to his fame.

The English Royal Family has been a huge contributor to the sport of horse racing. No other monarch has been more knowledgeable about the sport than Queen Elizabeth II.

Alright everyone, thank you so much! If you liked video hit the thumbs, up and as always subscribe

for more this content. Tomorrow we're going go check out the Thoroughbred

Center, which is a horse breeding and conditioning center for racehorses, so be

sure to check out those videos! Hope to see you next time! Bye!
