Hello everyone, today I show you how to create your own filters on Lightroom
first thing to do of course is to open Lightroom
and open the photo you want to modify
here we are going to use the one we did live on instagram
for the advent calendar
as you can see we have a photo that is already pretty well lit
pretty well cropped so not much to do about that
you have on the right end
the place where you are going to do all the modification you wants
for example we can slightly crop
the image if we want
like so
we also can modify the exposure
we can play here with contrast, light and shadows
and here clarity which is going to give more details to the image
if you can some off the photo will have some blurry effect added as you can see
if we go down we have the curves
with it you can change the shadows
or light
here you have the colors
you can change the hue if you want a red more orange for example
or orange more yellow, you can do it
here it's the saturation
so you can add color
or go black and white
finally
luminance is here to change the brightness of the color
as you can see you can change everything
those are specific to the color once more
I use them less
here you have the details and focus that you can add
you can remove the noise
here we don't need to correct the lenses
the effect are the vignette
on white or black
finally we have another things for color
as you can see I changed a lot to show you so the photo doesn't look good
so i will reset and go back from the start
you can modify your photo like that
and when you are at a result you like
you can create a filter that you can use easily later
as you can see I have a lot of them on the side
that I try, some that you can download
some I didn't really like
so I created my own
of course you will not be able to use all the preset on any photos
you'll need
to try different ones to see which you like
and that are good on your photo
i've created some great for object, others..
other for studio portraits
or outside portrait
so
there is a lot of option
that you can use
so here on the users presets are those I have created myself
I'll show you some
one I called bloggy for his blue hue perfect for some blog post
here we have a brown one
that I use a lot for my instagram
because I keep those warm brown hue
this one is a bit more intense
etc... i have others
i have a boudoir because I did some photoshoot
this one is classic
this one is black background
because it's good for portrait on black background
on this image it looks quite good
I show you
some more
i also have some black and white
then I have a portrait series
that I use on outdoor portraits
as you can see
those don't go well on this photo
this one neither
that's too dark
this too. but for portrait done outside with a lot of light it's great
so to apply a filter it's really easy
you just need to go on the one you want
clic on it and it apply it right away you can see on the right side
here as you can see our photo was a bit too dark
it's a bit much
so we are going to modify the exposure
to have it just a bit more lighter
and we are going to apply some vignette
like so
to hise a bit of the background
we are going to brighten the shadows
just a bit
less black
and we are going to lower the highlights
and the photo is done, as you can see it took just few seconds because I used the filters
it allows you to go really fast and cut retouch time by at least three times
of course you need to have a lot of filters for all type of photos
that you created or downloaded or bought
because you can buy from photographer or others that makes them
the this pictures took just few seconds
I applied the filters and changed just few things I wanted
because it was a bit dark. now it's ready and I could export it right away on instagram
now when you want to create your own it's so easy
you have on the right part the changes you wanted
and you need to create the filters only when you're ok with all your changes
the changes are in the right
and now we are going on the left
you have the images on top and just under
you have the presets
and if you go to the end of the ligne there is a + sign, let's clic on it and then create a preset
we give it a name
I'll call it insta
everything is chosen except the lens correction
because not everyone have the same lenses
so it would not be effective for others
everything else is ok because I modify it myself
then we clic on create
and now it on your user preset in the left side
just check by alphabetic order
and we have insta
it's our new filter
so if I reset the photo
like so it will go back as out of camera
if I clic on insta
everything go back in like we did
and the photo is done and ready to be posted on social media
I'll add it to favorite
now I know how to get it faster
the filter is ready, in the favorite and now when I want this effect I just have to clic on it
I go really fast this way on my work
my time of retouch is cut down by two or three
it's really easy especially when I have a lot of photo to do at the same time
and those are the hue I use a lot on my instagram
so you can do your own it's really easy
if you don't have Lightroom you can download it on adobe website
you'll have a test try for around 15 days
then its a monthly subscription
the photographer set is around 20$ with Lightroom and photoshop
if you don't want to pay with can be hard well you can find some portable version but careful it's not really legal
