Creating a brand identity is a key factor in setting yourself apart from the competition.

When you think of a brand's visual identity, you likely first think of their logo.

This video discusses how to easily create your own custom logo!

Your logo is the first thing that customers see when they visit your online store.

Logos generally live in the top section of the online store.

To make sure your logo reaches its maximum potential, try using some of the following

tips and tricks.

First, you don't need to be a graphic designer to have a beautiful logo!

Try visiting hatchful.shopify.com, linked below, for Shopify's free logo generator.

Start by clicking "Get started" and choose your business space.

This example selects "fashion".

Click "next".

Now, have a look through the visual style options and select styles that you feel represent

your brand.

You can select up to three visual styles.

Click "next".

Enter your business name, and a slogan if you'd like.

You can always edit this information later.

Click "next".

Provide some more details on where the logo will be used and click "next".

The system will now provide you with dozens of possible logos.

Scroll through to choose a logo that best represents your brand.

On the newly opened page, you can customize the logos features.

For example, change the font style to something more traditional, or something modern.

You can also change the colour scheme to find something more suitable for your brand.

Continue to edit until satisfied, and click "next".

Here you see all the images included in the package download.

Click "download logo."

If you haven't signed up for an account, a pop-window will appear to allow you to do

so.

This is a free account that allows you to access any logo you've made, and have them

sent directly to your email.

Within a few minutes, you'll receive an email from the Hatchful website.

Click the download button on the email to save the file to your desktop.

After opening the file, you see a variety of logos sent as a PNG file format.

It's always best to use a PNG file when uploading logos to your Shopify admin.

This format allows you to have a transparent background which blends seamlessly with the

header colour of your online store.

HOW TO ANSWER A BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEW QUESTION | #DailyBurk | 120318 - Duration: 3:46.

- Hey friends, Dave Burkus here.

Welcome back to The Daily Burk.

Today we are talking about how to

answer a behavioral interview question.

Now a behavioral interview question,

these are the ones where towards

the middle or end of the interview they'll say,

tell me about a time when you demonstrated leadership.

Tell me about a time when you had

to work hard under pressure.

Tell me about a time where you

had to satisfy an angry customer.

The idea with these questions,

is that I'm going to ask you to tell me

a story about a time where you exhibited a behavior,

that's where the name comes from,

that I'm looking for in a successful candidate.

Interviewing as a whole is actually psychological

when you look at the empirical research.

A terrible predictor of good performance later on

once we offer someone the job.

But structured interviews where we're

asking everybody the same question

add a little bit of predictability to an interview,

and then these behavioral questions, we're asking everybody

the same behavioral questions add a little bit more.

So the moral of the story is you

are not going to see these go away.

You are going to be asked more and more

behavioral interview questions in the future.

It helps to know what the right format for any answer is.

I think the right format, there's

a couple different common maxims.

There's this thing called the star formula

which is really similar to what I'm going to teach you

but I always forget what the acronym stands for

so what's the point of an acronym

if you can't remember what it stands for?

In fact, I just realized now it's

not even called an acronym, it's an acrostic.

That's when you spell a word where

the different letters stand for something.

I can't remember any of that.

I think in stories.

Behavioral interview questions

are a chance to tell a story and the stories,

the best stories usually follow a three act structure.

Here's the three act structure

for a behavioral interview question.

Act one, situation.

Tell me what happened.

Tell me what lead up to the point

where you had to make a decision or take an action.

Tell me all of the gory details,

tell me all of the pressures, make that situation

as difficult as it was, don't lie.

But make it really clear these are

all of the issues that you were facing.

Act two is the action.

So situation then action.

The thing that you did, the decision that you made,

the plan that you implemented, isolating out just you.

Don't talk about what other people

did or what happened to you.

That comes in the situation section.

You just talk about you.

And then act three is the result.

The hopefully positive result or else

why did you choose this story?

The result, the good result that came from your action.

Now, what I love about this besides the fact

that humans think in stories.

So you're telling a story in a

structure that every human is used to.

What I love about this format,

is that it isolates right in the middle

this is the example of me demonstrating the behavior.

This is why it's so effective.

This is me, I'm the hero, this is what I did.

So tell a story when it comes to the behavioral interview

question and make that story three parts.

The situation, what is happening to you,

the action, what did you do,

and the result, what was the result,

and make sure it's a good one,

otherwise get a different story

because if you fail, that's a terrible

answer to every behavioral interview question.

Three act structure, tell me a story

and make yourself the hero.

How to Add Speaker Notes in Microsoft PowerPoint - Duration: 3:03.

hey everyone this is Angela from PowerPointify and today I'm going to

show you how to add speaker notes into PowerPoint this is a great feature to

use if you are giving a presentation and you want to have your own notes that you

don't want the viewers to see so to start off let's make sure you have the

notes in your presentation so go ahead and come down to this note section at

the bottom when you click that button it will expand this little area that says

click to add notes there is where you can add any notes in your presentation

that you as a speaker want to see but you don't have your viewers see so I'm

going to go ahead and add some example notes alright you know I'm also going to

add notes the second slide just you can see what it's going to look like all

right so once you have your notes in there I'm gonna show you what it looks

like when you view it in the speaker notes setting now I do want you to know

that if you are doing this on your own you can only see this setting when you

are plugged in to an additional screen so if you have a second monitor you'll

be able to view these or if you are hooking your computer up to a projector

so this is only going to work when you are displaying this on a second screen

so I'm going to go up here to slideshow and click that and then I'm gonna click

from the beginning now as you can see on my screen on the left hand side I have

my first slide because I am viewing this from the beginning so here is my slide

and here is my example notes on the right hand side so now when you're

giving a presentation you can see the slide on your left and you can read

those notes on your right but your viewers aren't seeing that they're just

seeing your traditional PowerPoint presentation which is right here

now it'll also show you what your next slide is so that's a great thing to know

for when you have to make sure you have transitions between your slides in terms

of what you're saying it's a great thing to utilize so when I go to slide 2 I'm

going to click the next button down here when I go to slide 2 you'll see it says

example notes down on the right-hand side here so again the right-hand sides

where you're gonna see those notes that you have within your PowerPoint

presentation as speaker notes now I'm going to go ahead and exit out

of this and when I exit I want to show you one last thing

so saying in the slideshow section of the toolbar on the right hand side

there's use presenter view and so that's the view that we were just using now

that I was showing you when you're hooked up to an additional screen you

can use that presenter view this does come default checked but I just want to

make you aware of it because for some reason you had clicked around your

presentation and mix up some formatting maybe you uncheck that accident in order

to use those speaker notes this does need to be checked

Whoa! That's a big wagon!

Hey y'all, how you doing? HOW's your day going? John Broyles the CachingCubmaster here

and, we're looking for a very unusual cache. This one happens to have a

lot of favorite points and my, my, my... I'll show you what I'm looking at.

The name of this cache is World's Largest Covered Wagon. It is just off Interstate 55

in Lincoln Illinois. It's on historic Route 66, and as you can see, he's a big

wagon--very big--very, very big--really big "Big Abe" sitting up there in the sitting up there driving.

Now this I have DNF'd a couple times, and it has a lot of favorite points. So needless

to say, this one, I'm going to avenge this bad boy, and I have a feeling I know

where to find it.

Well, I left my stamp in the truck so I have to break out the handy-dandy pen.

There we go signed by the CachingCubmaster so we're going to return this

put this away, and then go find another one. And, this wagon is listed in Guiness Book of World Records as the World's Largest Covered Wagon. That's awesome!

What was, when did you first meet Jim?

Whilce: It's funny because, everybody when I do interviews, they're always like searching

for that, "okay, I'm Asians, so obviously, there's this barriers and stuff, right?"

Well, the industry's so small; oh, you can do it, "oh great".

If you were a purple people eater, but you could drop the pages, they'll let you in.

Omar: Yeah.

Whilce: But I did have a little bit of that.

It's weird because Carl Potts was the guy who discovered me.

He was the Punisher editor at the time.

Well, he discovered me in San Diego, I think he discovered Jim in St Louis Missouri, but

actually about the same time, I think it was just a week apart.

Omar: Oh, wow.

Whilce: Because remember I said that here, they were sending the editors around�

Omar: Yeah.

They were sending the editors around on a hunt for good stuff.

Whilce: Yeah.

So, then Jim made the move to go to college in Berkeley, so now, he was at California.

So, Carl calls me up and he goes, "hey, you got to meet this new guy Jim and he's

Asian, you guys will get along".

And we did get along.

I called up Jim, I think it was, I called up Jim, and then, we talked for a little bit

on the phone.

And then, he was thinking about getting closer to other professionals, and there were a lot

of professionals in San Diego at the time because of San Diego Con.

And so, Scott Williams and I convinced him to move down to San Diego and we formed our

first little studio in one bedroom apartment, in a two bedroom, and

then, we did Homage, and then, we did Wildstorm.

Omar: Oh wow.

Whilce: And so, it was just, you know, we were the Asian, and Scott was like the token

Asian because he was from Hawaii.

All right, so that was an awesome run a couple of challenging levels but not too hard actually

The only hard level was the strawberry shell jump switch. I think with cheese

So let's take a look at the levels. So everything started with this level

only four clears out of eight hundred attempts

0.49 percent at this level was kind of tricky actually, it might be the hardest level of the episode for sure after that

We completed epic classic which had only six clears meant challenging levels for sure out of

500 damn this level was long. It was really long but not too hard after that

We got the ten seconds a speedrun which I think took like maybe 15 deaths or something like that

One person clear eight five clears only dude and this one was probably the lowest clear rate

0.42 percent only trip person including me

And as you can see in the thumbnail, there was a whole section at the bottom right there

But we got to the top of the level and made a big boy jump and clear the level. So cheese acquired

After that, we clear mind the money

0.65 percent here right only ten percent including me clear this level

Learning from Experience - Duration: 1:58.

In my opinion, Towson is kind of like the Harvard of teacher schools. I think they

prepared me well. I've been teaching for 14 years. I was in public school for 12

this is my second year at the Maryland School for the Blind. Dr. Kaplan's

invited me back for a few years to come speak to her methods class.

I contacted Danny as I do and he suggested bringing the students in the

Maryland School for the Blind and having them let us experience what it's like to

learn math as a blind student. It's been exciting checking you know my own bias

and I'm watching them grow and myself growing as well. I think Mr. Salemie

is a good teacher because when he first got there his open-mindedness and

willing to adapt was phenomenal, but he didn't look at us as those blind kids or

they need extra help because they're blind you know. He's a teacher. He wanted

to know the best way to teach. I would like people who are becoming teachers to

know that just because we have a visual impairment or no sight at all doesn't

mean we can't learn just like everybody else. This is only my second year

actually being blind. You know getting to learn all the Braille and you know how

to work with the technology and the accessible programs

Mr. Salemie has been really nice through that. Again he hasn't helped too much to

that you know it takes away the independence. Mr. Salemie has to be you

know one of the most nice teachers I had. I like how he was so open minded I look

up to him a lot. I thought it was really cool that the students were the ones

that gave the presentations because I feel like we learned from them. It was

cool like to hear their experiences. The experience like definitely taught me

that the best way to learn how to differentiate for these students is to

learn about their disability. Some of the tools that were available to the

students I had no idea existed. It was really valuable experience to have those

students come in and work with us. Some of the smartest kids I've ever met

actually. They just teach me that there's really no excuse if you're willing

you can find a way to do it.

What are we going to tackle in this course? Well, right now you're watching the presentation

we'll see an introduction later, what is Symmetric, how does it work

let's see in theory what the installation is like, how the service is set up, configure properties

file for the master and for the nodes

let's go into a configuration for a basic replication

first installing the only dependency we need that is JAVA for windows and for linux

We are going to configure the database to be able to work with Symmetric

We are going to install Symmetric we will configure the first node (the Master)

which will be the publisher, in this case it will be using Postgres for Linux Ubuntu Server 18.04

let's configure Symmetric, the database part

then we are going to configure the first node, that we always do in Linux using Postgres

and we will do, to finish this section, the replication of the first table.

then we will go to a second part

where we will talk about multi platform replication

for this case, we are going to add a second node, always using Postgres, this time in Windows

we'll do an initial load, let's see the replication

we will pass later

to do a multi database replication, this means, we are going to install a third node

this time using SQL Server, we will see the elements to be taken into account with SQL Server

initial load and replication

we will add a fourth node in linux, we will use MariaDB, then we will see the elements to be taken into account with MariaDB, the initial load and the replication

we will then go to see the replication of Node to Master, here we will see how to configure Symmetric to be able to replicate data

from the nodes (subscribers) to the master (publisher)

we will finish watching advanced topics

what to do when modifying the structures of the tables, how to synchronize all the triggers

we will see what needs to be done to monitor the database, to monitor Symmetric, to correct those conflicts

at the end we will have a solution in which we will be able to replicate in different platforms

with different database, a solution that is efficient, stable, scalable and very easy to configure

so imagine this you discover yourself with some piece of paper in your hand

that has a substantial dollar amount and date what can it be this is of course

the universally feared speeding ticket you then examine it thoroughly reading

it coming to the realization that there are virtually only three options for you

you are free to pay the fine if you want to which can make a

little dent in your bank account depending on how fast you were going

raise your insurance premiums put points on your license

those are good or you can appear in court to plead not guilty or you can

even elected to attend traffic school based on how much over the speed limit

you were going it could be in your best interest to meet with a traffic ticket

specialist or a lawyer typically called a ticket clinic traffic ticket

specialists are those who would help you save the ridiculous amounts of money that

you would spend on legal fees and help you handle the matter on your very own

going to court can seem extremely discouraging without a lawyer if you

were not somebody who was used to the nitty-gritty of speeding ticket defense

but the great part is that any average citizen only has to research traffic

laws that pertain to them and just ensure that they're well

prepared with all the required material and you should bring information that

could help mitigate the citation you could even bring witnesses that were

hopefully in the car with you that know you weren't speeding but it's essential

to note that if you opt for the court appearance usually the officer who

issued the ticket will be present as a witness sometimes they don't show up in

which case you win now if your plan is to plead guilty to speeding wrong

chances are that it'll be difficult to convey a good defense you can know

your side of the story the judge will always listen but pleading guilty

basically is admitting your guilt so you don't want to do that however the worst

thing that could possibly happen is that you'll have to pay the fine a lot of

times it's just court costs no points if you have a decent judge if you are not

nice to the judge then the penalty may be worse the actual fun part comes

during your court appearance when you have the opportunity to explain court

appearance explain your reasons for speeding for example you can tell the

judge that you had to increase your speed because you felt it was necessary

to get ahead of all the horrible drivers around you can also tell the judge that

you had to increase your speed because there was a dinosaur chasing you or you

were on a copious amount of cocaine is that a word I can use or you had to take

a huge shit or simply you were trying to race the person next you now

realistically your defense has a slim chance of actually working especially if

you use those reasons but it's imperative that you take every

opportunity available to you to say whatever you want when you go to court

and you bring the issue of your speeding ticket to the court this means that you

are completely ready to kick the speeding tickets butt I don't know how

you kick a piece of papers butt but make sure that you bring all your

pictures and notes that have to do with the matter and leave those selfies at

home be prepared to act as your own witness and spill the beans about every

single thing that happened when you got the speeding ticket most of the traffic

court judges have heard just about everything but some are more gracious

than others it can go a long way if you express how much time and effort you

have invested in your defense please note that the information I'm giving you

is only intended as information not legal advice this means that just

because I'm gonna do the information that does not mean that your speeding

ticket will be dismissed you could still be left with paying for

court costs fines you might even get traffic school

for your records not good but you feel really cool because you got this to your
