Waching daily Jan 1 2017

hi i'm back if you don't remember me i'm

kristen and this is like Kristen happy

new year

I've been away for a while i've been on

vacation trying to get my mental health

back before I can help you guys because

you know if your caregiver or advocate

or you're working with people with

mental health issues or you want to help

people in general with anything you come

first and your mental health comes first

and I was struggling a little bit around

finals but now I'm back and better and

happy and ready to show you what's going

to happen this next year on LikeKristen

but first I want to talk about goals and

creating realistic goals and sticking to

them. around this time January in general

a lot of people start making new year's

resolutions now you have probably heard these

people going I want to exercise more

I want to eat better I want to journal

each day I want to travel more

these are great great goals for the new

year to improve yourself and just to

make the world a better place but in a

few weeks these people are going to

start eating junk food again not going

to the gym anymore and their journal is

nowhere to be seen either this is you

and you yourself are going through

this have gone through in the past or

you fear that this is going to be you in

the new year

what if i told you that i have 11

tips to guarantee that you can

achieve any goal this year

well I do and I'm very excited to share

with you today and I really hope they

help achieve your goals

i'm excited for goal setting this week

you are too let's get on with these 11

ways make the goals positive and

specific now like I just said a lot of

people go i want to exercise more or

I want to eat better these are more

long-term goals and not specific goals

for us to work toward yes it would be

great to exercise more

what does that mean

does that mean you want to exercise 30

minutes a day do you want to go on more

walks do you want to try something new

like yoga or pilates what does this mean

to you have a long-term goal that you

want to work toward and then makes steps

that are specific enough that you can

achieve them every single month for

example I want to exercise more

what does that mean probably i want to

get a gym membership close to my house I

want to exercise for at least 30 minutes

a day

these are goals that i'm going to work

toward that are specific enough for me

to actually achieve them make your

specific goals easier than the

undesirable behavior you were doing

before this is something a lot of people

don't do or don't take the time to think

about and I really think we should our

goals should be easier than the behavior that

we were doing before an example of this

could be i want a journal for 30 minutes

a day

why am i not achieving that well

probably because my journal is over

there in my bookshelf in the bottom of

my bookshelf and I don't think about it cause

it's not out i don't see it

example like this is you want to journal

more put your journal next to your bed

so it's easier for you to pick it up

then going over there in the bookshop my

know this is very simple example but these

are things that we can do you have to

make your desirable behavior easier

than what you were doing before

yeah post your goals everywhere on your

lock screen of your phone on your

refrigerator on your computer at your

desk in a bookmark in your journal

anywhere that you are going to see it so you

remind yourself that this

I want to achieve and I'm gonna remember

it I see it everywhere create an action

plan

it's easy to say that you want to do

something but it's easier when you have

an action plan. An action plan is just

what i was saying before break your goal

into smaller pieces breaking you're

going into smaller steps really helps

you achieve your goals because it

doesn't look like a big goal anymore

it looks like tiny our goals that are

more achievable create a timeline i love

my planner I plan out all my goals I have

certain things that I want to achieve in

certain months i'm creating something

for youtube and my blog right now it's a

huge project and it's due in March and I

know it's doing mark so i take those

certain baby steps to get there

I feel like it's more motivating that

way tell others about your goals

don't move inside if you tell others

they can keep you accountable they can

remind you about your goals also if you

tell others you can get support have a

support system for your goal

another thing with support is support

groups depending on what your goal is

there's probably other people out there

with the same goals whether it's fitness

writing a novel losing some weight

recovery you want to get rid of about

habit there are people out there who are

going to say things that you're going

through and it's really beneficial to

join a group or support group for your

goal you guys control experiences

stories what works for you

what didn't work for you victories and

accomplishments and just overall support

i want you to remember this

it's ok to mess up everyone messes up no

one is perfect it's totally okay to mess up

but it's not okay to give up on yourself

giving up on your goals is not what we

want we want to achieve our goals we

want to do the best that we can do

sometimes we just mess up that's okay

but we need to keep going because we can

do this

acknowledge your accomplishments I feel

like in our society were so keen on

acknowledging our failures knowing when

we failed at something we don't really

acknowledge when we did something right

so when you have an accomplishment

during your goal maybe you hit your

milestone on your timeline feel good

about that acknowledge that be mindful

of the things that you're doing right

I think mindfulness is really good just being mindful

about what we're doing in our life and

just feeling good about ourselves that

we accomplish something that can

motivate you to keep going along those

lines positive self-talk and

affirmations are amazing with goals if we

tell ourselves that we can't do it we're

going to believe that we need to keep

telling yourself that we can do it we

can achieve our goals what i like to do

in the mornings when i'm feeling low and

i can't accomplish a blog goal or YouTube

goal is I always just sit down take a deep

breath and save affirmations to myself

like you are talent you have passion you

are unique and you

change lives or something like that if I

feel like I'm not really doing a lot of

my youtube or something like that so

find some affirmations that work for you

and say them to yourself when you don't

feel like you can accomplish your goals

because i know and we both know we do

that you can accomplish any goal that

you put your mind to

you just need to tell yourself that and

the 11th tip that I have is start now it's

so hard to start a goal because we tell

ourselves

oh yeah i'll start tomorrow yeah my diet will

start tomorrow I will exercise tomorrow

oh yeah I start that novel tomorrow you

probably have told yourself this before

start now start today because if you are

in that cycle of start tomorrow I'll

start tomorrow

you're never going to start let me know

actually get any benefit from doing any

training whatsoever you think some of

the movements are a little bit too

difficult and they can't be scaled back

for your ability you have a look at

bodyweight training but you think that

possibly it's a little bit too easy

well I think you're gonna have to

rethink that it's fantastic in my

opinion because it can be scaled back

for anyone at any level or it can be

progressed two stages were it is

Are You Aware of Your Frequency?

Humans are dualistic by nature.

We are both of spirit/source energy and ego persona/matter.

When we are about three years old, we start developing our sense of self/individually.

This happens primarily by labeling and judging our perception of what is appearing.

If we never learn to temper this as we grow older, we separate from our spirit as well

as from others.

This leads to feelings of loneliness, isolation, and even abandonment.

We have ultimately abandoned our spiritual self through constant separation.

Sensitive People May Struggle with Duality Let us look at this from another angle.

Instead of labels such as bad/dark, we use the term low frequency, and substitute high

frequency for good/light.

Now we are working within a range.

Each person in humanity holds an energetic frequency on this range.

Energetic signatures are the total of our thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

We are all unique and have a base setting when we are born, a natural operating range/frequency

which is then tuned through our energetic signature.

Why?

Each of us is here to experience, learn and grow through the vessel of humanity.

Humans are dualistic, for each frequency there is an opposite frequency: low and high for

example.

Our base setting is determined by the life lessons we are here to experience.

Does that mean people can't change?

We can always respond to life from our higher selves rather than react from our ego persona.

It takes awareness and conscious observation.

It's a practice which requires dedication.

It can be done.

Spiritual Teachers and the Energetic Range Where do spiritual teachers fit in?

When we are shifting up that energetic range, it is helpful for someone higher on the scale

to hold the space and support us through the transition.

Their presence helps adjust our vibration and frequency.

Do all teachers shift you up?

No, they don't, we must use discernment when choosing a teacher.

Remember we are all operating on a range.

Look for people whose words and actions have congruency.

Whose presence feels uplifting without them speaking.

Since there is no bad or good when we drop the labels, how does that change our perception

of reality?

Let's use an example: on our way home, we get mugged; now our lower frequency will react,

the perpetrator becomes evil and we become a victim (energetically).

Our energy stays in that frequency, through the law of attraction!

We continue to receive validation for our frequency with more experiences that support

victim-hood, plus we are still stewing in the event.

We keep replaying it in our heads and create more suffering.

A Few Words on Acceptance and Resistance A different experience is in acceptance.

We got mugged on the way home, OK we proceed by contacting the police, credit card company;

whatever we need to do.

Accepting that the perpetrator was acting from his lower energy frequency, we don't

react or go into victimhood, it is what it is, let's keep flowing into the next moment.

We do not create a resistance of what has appeared by telling a story about poor us

or evil him, which would shift our energy frequency and cause suffering.

Resistance = Suffering.

It boils down to; we are all here to do and experience what we are meant to, what we need

to evolve and shift to the next frequency.

Sometimes it's our suffering that is the catalyst for a transition.

It is the sign that alerts us to change our perception, and balance our spirits and ego

personas.

Being human is challenging, if we can observe ourselves and detach from ego occasionally.

Rather than label others, if we hold compassion, we will create harmony and that feels good

or different.
