Waching daily Jan 1 2017

Hello Brawlhallers, it's Berthen here.

So today, I got into a game that would probably tilt 99% of you.

But not me because I've played competitive games for so long and am used to so many tilting

situations that I got tired of it and came up with ways to stop myself from tilting.

I always get comments like, "How are you so calm, you never get mad and tilted like me.

I tilt and lose 10 games in a row."

That's why I'm going to tell you about three things that you can do to stop yourself

from tilting.

The first is When things aren't going your way, create

new goals, so that you always get something out of it.

So going into this game, my original goal, was to practice my overall bow gameplay, in

a normal ranked match with people who are trying to win.

Unfortunately, it didn't happen, and instead of being real upset that I couldn't get

my way, I just made new goals, and forgot about playing a normal match, cause it obviously

wasn't going to happen with the way this koji was playing.

So instead I worked on what made sense to me.

Which was practicing my dodge reading skills.

This just means that I would try to predict where he would dodge and then hit him after

he waste the dodge instead of just trying to hit him right away because he was running

and dodging a lot.

Then I noticed that I had to also pressure better, which is to move forward more to force

my opponent to dodge which I showed in my "counter passive" video.

So I worked on both of those and ended up having a really nice practice that I concentrated

on and had fun instead of being tilted.

Sometimes you can't do anything about it right away though.

Like when you lag super hard, try to figure out the problem, make a goal out of fixing

the issue instead of being mad.

When you're too hungry or tired to deal with a game like this, you should go eat or go

rest after the game.

The point is that you shouldn't waste time and energy being upset for the rest of the

match because the kind of game you thought you were going to have wasn't happening.

If you focus on it too hard and it's just not gonna happen, you will just get angrier,

the new goals are so you can focus on things that won't upset you or can even make you

happier.

Like getting better, eating, sleeping or finding ways to fix your internet.

So basically, if you focus on what's tilting you, you're gonna keep tilting, if you switch

the focus to something productive, you'll forget about whats tilting you and possibly

be happier or at least not be as angry.

The second thing is To not worry about losing.

Understand that you will NOT lose anything more than a digital number when you lose a

ranked game.

So for example, I have consistently gotton 2200 elo or more, in every season of brawlhalla

starting since season 0, it is currently season 3 .If I lost 1000 games before getting 2200

elo, it would still not change the fact that I got that elo.

The reason is because every game I lose, is not me getting worst at the game.

It's not elo that I will never be able to gain back.

Usually people have ranked anxiety because they think that they'll go into ranked game,

lose elo, and become a worst player, and they'll never get back to their highest elo before

they lost it, so they just become a worst and worst player.

This is simply not true, in fact it's the opposite of the truth.

You can only get better by playing the game.

In season three, the current season, I actually got to 2000, then 1700 elo, then 2000 again,

then 1800 , then 2000 again.

I did most of this live on my twitch channel.

I would get Teros to diamond, switch to Cassidy, lose a bunch, because I suck on her but then

after practicing her, I get to diamond again with her.

Then I repeated with Orion and so on.

There's a pattern here, the more I played and practiced a character, the better I got,

and the better I got, the more elo I earned in the end.

So when you go and hit play ranked.

Just go in there with the intention of getting better, or just playing for fun.

If you play for fun, you'll get better anyways even if you lose a bunch, because you'll

learn what to do, and what not to do, by just playing the game.

Now a lot of you might say that, you shouldn't play near the end of the season, if you're

at your highest elo, so you can get that SWEET SWEET glory, and the border of your current

elo.

If you're thinking this, then I have good news for you.

Glory is based on the number of wins, and your HIGHEST elo, that's right you can get

2000 elo, and lose all the way to 700 elo.

You will still be rewarded the same amount of glory for your 2000 peak elo as someone

who ends with 2000 elo.

The same for borders, if you peaked at 2000 elo, you're getting diamond border, even

if you ended with 700 elo.

So go play ranked if you want to.

Don't get tilted when you lose elo, because you'll get it back later, or not, doesn't

really matter because only your peak elo matters anyway and you can't lower your peak elo,

you can only make it go higher, by playing some more ranked games.

This last action is for when the first two doesn't work.

Take a break.

It's probably not what you want to do, and you've also probably heard it once or twice,

maybe all the time, depending on how often you get tilted.

But it really does work.

I am very unlikely to get mad when I'm playing games but when I do, I take a break, and then

come back later and I'm not mad anymore.

If I don't take a break though, oh boy, it just keeps going.

Sometimes it's just impossible to untilt yourself.

You play a really bad game, and you think maybe the next one will be better, and you'll

stop tilting, but you don't, you just go into the next game with a negative attitude,

and you tilt even more.

When you do this, you just start hating the game more and more, you might even build bad

habits when you play, and that'll make you worst at the game.

But when you stop playing, and thinking about the game, it'll disappear.

Go take a walk, watch a show, just do anything else, that makes you stop thinking about the

game.

This includes not going into a public chat like twitch chat, and telling everyone about

the terrible game you've just had.

Maybe do that with a close friend or something, but if you tell it to a random group of people,

they'll usually feel burdened by it if they're nice, or even mock you if they're not so

nice, telling you to just "get good" and "you're just a noob".

Stuff like that.

So to recap.

The three things you can do to not get tilted is, to create new goals when things aren't

going the way you want it to, instead of trying to win this one game, think about how you

can improve your next game against this player or how you can make the game fun for you.

Don't worry about losing, you're not going to become a worst player, nothing other than

losing one game out of many and maybe losing some digital ranked points is going to happen

to you, you win some, you lose some.

And if those aren't working then just take a break.

Thanks for watching.

Four Things to Expect After Cochlear Implant Surgery - Duration: 4:58.

Hello, I'm Brian Johns.

I'm going to talk about my absolutely amazing experiences with cochlear implants and talk

to you how my martial arts career has impacted the way I approach life with cochlear implants.

In this video clip, I'm going to talk about four things that you can expect immediately

after a cochlear implant surgery.

But first let me introduce myself.

I was born in 1964 during the rubella outbreak.

As a result, I was born with severe hearing impairment in both ears.

My right ear is nearly profoundly deaf.

My left ear has been measured at the 85 to 90 decibels.

It remained more or less unchanged until July of 2012.

when I underwent a sudden change in my left ear, overnight as a matter of fact.

To make a long story short,

after an appointment with an ENT and my general practitioner,

I was referred to the Sunnybrook Hospital here in Toronto

for an evaluation.

They found that I would be an appropriate candidate for a cochlear implant.

And I went through my cochlear implant surgery in December of 2013.

And the implant was activated in January of 2014.

And my experiences have been incredible.

It's been life changing.

And I can't express how much better it is with the cochlear implant over the hearing

aid.

I have picked up environmental sounds that I have never heard before in my life.

I'm going to talk about those experiences in the next few videos.

Earlier this summer, I was informed by Sunnybrook Hospital that I would be eligible for an implant

on my right side.

They vetted me. They made sure that I was qualified for it.

And asked if I was interested.

I said "of course. Let's go for it!"

I just had the surgery in my right ear three days ago.

And I'm in the process of recovering from that surgery.

Now let's talk about what you can expect after a cochlear implant surgery based on

my experiences with two surgeries.

The first thing that you can expect after a cochlear implant surgery is a sore throat

as a result of the breathing tube that's used during your surgery.

The soreness will last a few days. It's not too bad.

The second thing that you can expect after a cochlear implant surgery is some vertigo.

And that's a common side effect of cochlear implant surgeries.

I'm experiencing some but it's rather mild.

The vertigo that I had after my first surgery lasted for about 7 to 10 days. That's all.

But I know some people who had vertigo problems for six months thereabouts.

It really depends on the individual.

The third thing that you can experience after surgery is itchiness around your incision.

Itchiness is a sign of healing. It's a little bit irritating.

But you can put up with it.

It's well worth it!

Now the fourth thing you can experience after a cochlear implant surgery and what I'm

experiencing right now and what I also experienced after the first surgery is numbness around

the ear. It's very numb, okay?

Afte my first surgery in the left ear, it took about six months, six to twelve months

before the numbness went away.

And I expect the same to happen here with my right ear.

So those are the four things that you can expect to experience after a cochlear implant

surgery.

In future clips, I'm going to talk about the activation experience, my experiences

picking up environmental sounds.

I'm going to talk about the mindset that you need to bring into maximizing your cochlear

implant experiences

And I'm going to bring in my martial arts experience into this.

And so I hope that you enjoy my insights into the cochlear implant experiences.

And I'll see you next week!

See ya!

Picture Animation Effects - Duration: 22:41.

hello friends today we will see how to

apply some cool effects to the image and

present it effectively so we'll just go

through these effects first and then

we'll see how to do it

so this is one of the effect where these pictures will

travel in one direction

and after sometime it will get reversed

ok so first we will see how to do it

I have prepared another slide in which

I have just inserted some the same pictures you can

insert any picture you want so far as what we have to

we have to adjust the size so that

every picture is off same size will just

double click on it and select height as 2.5

the width will get adjusted automatically

all the pictures has to be

either in landscape mode or portrait mode

otherwise the size will differ

then we want to align them together

so what we'll do we'll just for temporary reason

temporarily we will include one square

ok then we will adjust these images in this square

again increase this square a little bit

this will look nice

ok so now all the pictures are aligned

so we'll just delete this square

now we want to add effects will click the first image go to

animation custom animation and we'll

select motion path of square

ok then what we will do we will adjust this

Square length

ok so we have to adjust it like

it should be alligned to the center of other

pictures

see this is the center of this picture

this is the center of this picture here we

need to shift a little bit upward

ok now you will keep it with previous

keep its speed medium let's see how it

works

ok it looks a little bit fast so what do

we will make it very slow ok this speed

seems good now after this we need to

apply the same effect to this one but we

will have to select Custom motion path

of freeform

ok then we will just click on its center

then drag it to the center of next

picture likewise

& to end it here we need to double

click

they should also should happen with

previous and speed should be very slow

sorry same effect to this one

then the last effect for this picture

remember to follow only one direction

while drawing the custom path

ok then what we need to do we need to

remove these smooth start smooth end

click on auto reverse so that the path

will get reversed automatically

now let's see

still the effect is looking a little bit

faster so we can customize these speeds

can click on the effect go to timing

instead of five seconds will select

twenty

let's see

now this looks a little bit nice than

the previous one you can adjust the

speed depending upon your dessire

but this effect looks nice on little bit

slow motion

ok, now

you will see another effect

its transition effect

ok so we'll see this effect now

what we need we need will copy these same

pictures to another slide we will remove

all these effects

ok and we need to adjust these pictures

just little bit zoom out.

Then we can just group them together

and we will add effect of fly in from left

select slow

we can decrease it's speed again will select

let's say 15 if you want to increase the

duration we can again copy this group

paste it

and again group them together

we will also apply some reflections

we need to apply it all group

ok we'll select the same group paste it

again and we will align it here

ok we need to apply the effect again has

we had a group it together fly-in with

previous from left 15 for this will

select the same if it like in but

instead of will select it from right

let's see

just a minute

ok so this is how you can apply this

effect to your pictures if you want you

can still decrease speed

ok we will see third effect

ok this is a very nice effect

ok so we'll see how to do it will select

this image

this effect then adjust it here then

we'll copy paste that image and we will

make it black and white

ok then you will select the color image

and select fade with previous very slow

then we can just write anything you want

welcome to clolourfull world

will select this text and we also select

fiade with previous speed very slow

let's see

Oh, one minute

you need to send it back

ok

now you will see the fourth effect

this is very simple copy these slides only

we will remove these effects so we need

two pictures one of gray scale &

one of colorful

then select this color image to go to

motion path select up

will increase its length by holding the shift key

to let say here. Let see

So this is not covering a whole slide

so we will increase it little bit further let's see

ok you can still increase it little

bit margin

ok now it is covering whole slide

will aplly same effect to this

select it's motion path and we will

stretch it up a little bit further

we will select with previous let's see okay

if you want to make it slowly can select

the slow

ok now we will see the last effect

this is a opposite of a previous one

so what we want we will select these only

remove these effects

copy paste the coloured image

double click select crop

we will crop this center flower

adjust it's position

will draw one squared to match this

cropped image we will make its outline

black and select no fill

& adjust this square

ok we'll adjust the position of a flower

adjust position of this square

ok sorry then we will draw the lines

increase its width to match the width of a square

okay just copy-paste it

rotate this one by 90 degrees and

increase its length and copy/paste

ok now we want this

colored image to go backwards first we will

adjust its position right click select

send to back

then we'll select this grayscale image

apply fade with previous slow

then

will select this square

select it as appear after previous

and we'll select this line select fly in

from right with previous slow and

select this line select fly in and instead

of bottom select left and select this

line and select direction from bottom it

is bottom only with previous slow

select this line & select fly in from top

let see

ok that image is little bit misaligned

ok

this rectangle we want to appear at

last

let's see okay i think speed of the last

one huh

this is not adjusted that is very fast

that's why it is not getting synchronize

ok now we will just see it in full screen mode

you can just align that picture again we'll

not do it

but you got a feeling of

how to apply these effects to your

pictures and make it more effective and

impress your audience so that's it my

friends if you liked my video do

subscribe to my channel and don't forget

to like my videos it will boost my

motivation to make such videos in

MY 2017 GOALS AND CHALLENGES // Charr Frears - Duration: 6:53.

Hello all welcome to another video i know i've been MIA for quite a while i just decided

to take a hiatus at the end of 2016.

Just because my ideas were running dry and my content was a bit meh however we are now

in 2017, a whole new year and I am back and ready to make some amazing content.

With that I thought I would start the year with my 2017 goals.

Most of which are based around this channel.

So lets start of with some general goals not relating to books and then we'll finish with

my bookish goals.

Goal 1 I want to make more content.

And by more content I don't just mean more in quantity.

I mean more in terms of quality, a more varied range and a more enticing and exciting video

structure.

I want people to enjoy my videos and I want to enjoy making them.

And I want to experiment a lot more.

That does mean I am in need of getting some new equipment but that will be happening very

very soon.

Goal 2 I want to be less stressed out with youtube.

I find myself getting stressed out if I miss a day of my schedule.

Or the video I make isn't up to the standard that I want.

I'm going to cut back on the videos that I make.

This kind of contradicts the last goal.

There will always be at least one video a week.

I will be aiming for two.

Last year I wanted to make three videos a week.

So this year I'm going to make two videos a week and if I make one video in a week that

will be absolutely fine.

And because I've said that it will be completely guilt free.

Goal 3 I want to interact more with my viewers my internet friends who I speak to on twitter

and facebook who i know through booktube.

I want to have more of a community feel, reply to your comments, engage you in the content

I am making and I want it to be about us rather than just about me.

I want to bring in your opinions and discussions and I want to share them.

So from those three goals you've probably seen that booktube is going to be a big change

this year.

It's going to be a lot less booktube and much more general youtube.

I have a lot of video ideas I want to make in the coming weeks.

I do have personal goals that I'm not going to go into.

Mostly to do with happiness and health and beauty and mostly things to do with myself.

I don't really want to discuss it here.

I know I have done body confidence videos in the past but I like to do those as reflections

rather than forecasts.

I don't want to sit here are say I want to lose x amount of weight or do x amount of

exercise, I just want to do that for myself.

There are goals for that in my personal life.

Now lets move on to the things you're most excited for, my bookish goals for 2017.

I ummed and ahhhed about my reading goal for this year.

I've always aimed for 50 books for the last 5 years.

I was thinking about maybe upping it.

However I don't want booktube and reading to become something that stresses me out,

or becomes a burden and a chore.

So for that reason I am sticking to my 50 book challenge.

I can always up it later on in the year.

Last year I managed to read 60 books with the last couple of months being a bit of a

wobble.

I was focusing on other things such as my job my friendships, relationships, house and

writing.Video games were the most time consuming, I played a lot of pokemon.

I definitely want to spend a lot more time reading than i currently am.

Second reading challenge goal, whatever you want to call it, is to read a more varied

range of books.By that i don't mean I'm going to skip from genre to genre with each book.

I just meanI want to be more aware of what I am reading.

I want to read more non-fiction, more poetry more literary and more fantasy.

Make sure that what I'm reading encompasses a lot of different things.

I don't want to just read the same thing so I have the same knowledge over and over again.

I want to learn and widen my horizons.

With that, I'm also going to be doing a little book club.

I haven't made this an official book club with a goodreads group or anything.

I'm just doing it on my twitter and quite personally.

But what I'm going to be doing is reading more about social issues and underpriviledged

view points of the world.I want to look more into drug use, alcohol addiction, homelessness,

politics.

I want to read more about people's suffering and I know that sounds sick.

But I want to make myself more aware of the trials and tribulations that people go on.

And how the politics of our country affect that, but I don't just want to focus on the

Uk, I want to look at America and the Middle East, Europe and Asia.

I just want to read as widely as possible and diversely as possible.I'll be making a

video about that really soon, it should be up later this week.

Number 3 on my reading goals is to read at least one non-fiction book a month.

This is something that I tried to do last year and for the first few months did really

well.

And then trailed off.

So I'm bringing it back, I want to read at least one non-fiction book per month I have

a lot of non-fiction books already that I'm excited to get to.

I need you guys to give me a kick up the bum to make sure I do that.

Number 4 is that I want to read at least once a day.

That's 5 minutes in the morning of 30 minutes before bed, or listening to an audiobook on

the way to work.

I want to consume a book in some way at least daily.

If I don't read one day I find it very easy to not read the next day or the day after

that and then a week and then a month and find it very hard to get back into it.

By consuming different kinds of media I definitely want to read more.

And number 5 is to read different types of media.

I want to listen to more audiobooks, do more buddy reads, I want to use my kindle a lot

more.

And I want to read more graphic novels and more comics and more zines and all those little

tidbits of literature and books that don't really get much coverage.

As you can probably tell from this video, 2017 is the year I just want to read more

variety.

I do more things that I have been restricting.

I've not set too many challenges because I don't want to overwhelm myself.

So those are all the challenges I have set myself for this year.

Let me know in the comments down below what your goals are for this year.

I'd really love to know.

Goal setting is such an exciting thing for me.

I like to sit down and just set myself a goal.

Whether I will stick to these is a completely different question but I will definitely try

my best.

And I'm looking forward to taking you all along on my 2017 journey.

That's everything for this video and I'll see you in the next one.BYE!
