When was the last time you picked up a print newspaper? - Duration: 2:01.
- Print newspapers.
When is the last time you picked one up
or had it delivered to your door?
Like most Americans it is much more likely
that you get your news via online sources
as opposed to a print newspaper.
One of the holdovers from the days of print media
is legal notices.
Whether it be an abandoned storage unit,
an unclaimed estate, a public meeting,
or a number of other reasons,
notice is often legally required to be given to the public.
The best way to do that used to be placing
a notice in the newspaper.
But with print readership declining daily,
is it still necessary to require people
to put ads in the paper?
Would simply placing the notice
on a paper's online version be enough?
The other side of this issue
is the cost of these legal notices.
The advertising pricing varies widely
from one newspaper to the next,
but they all have one thread in common.
They receive substantial revenue from government agencies.
This antiquated policy turns these legal notices
into de facto taxpayer subsidies for the newspapers.

- At a minimum legal notices should not be required
when the entity issuing the notice
has another way of notifying the person directly,
like through a home visit or certified letter, for example.
Also, newspapers should have a reasonable maximum rate
for how much they charge for these legal notices.
At some point we need to have a conversation
about whether using print media for legal notices
is even needed anymore.
The modes of communication and mass media have changed,
so it's time that Utah's laws reflect that.

Did You Get What You Wanted? - Two Minute Message - Duration: 2:03.
- Hey everybody, Daniel Fusco here.
Welcome to today's two-minute message.
So, Christmas is in the rear view mirror.
And here's the question I have for you.
Did you get what you wanted for Christmas?
I mean, no matter how old or young you are,
everybody wants certain things for Christmas.
And some of you are gonna say that you're like,
absolutely, I got exactly what I wanted for Christmas.
And you're super stoked about it.
For others of you, you're like, no.
Not even a little bit.
Did I actually?
I didn't get what I wanted.
I was hoping for something.
Didn't get it.
Okay, whatever.
Now here's the question, for those of
you who actually got what you wanted
for Christmas, did it truly satisfy you?
I know, that's a kind of a nasty
question, because often times,
we hope that when we get these things,
our soul is gonna be satisfied,
but actually it never happens because
your soul will never be satisfied with material things.
Those things that you can get.
Toys that you can play with.
But I have another question, did Jesus get
what he wanted for Christmas?
Did Jesus get what he wanted from you for Christmas?
Now, the reason that question is so
important of course, is it makes us ask the question,
what does Jesus want for us?
The answer's pretty simple.
Jesus wants our life.
He wants our hearts.
He wants us to follow him every single day.
He wants us to be a vehicle for his grace,
his mercy, his truth to enter the world.
And it has nothing to do with the things that you buy.
It has to do with who you are in the spirit.
And we wanna make sure, going forward,
that every single day, that Jesus gets
what he deserves from our lives.
He gave up his life for us, and we ought
to also give up our lives for him.
So what I want you to is I want you
to share this message, 'cause we want
everybody to be able to give Jesus
what Jesus deserves, which is our very lives.
And then, in the comments section,
what I want you to do, is I want you
to share this is what Jesus deserves from my life.
This is something that I want to see
Jesus receive from me as I am growing,
as God is doing the work in my life.
And we're going to learn from one another.
And I want to thank you for being honest
about those things that you see Jesus asking of you,
because we want to learn how to simply
respond to Jesus every single day of our lives.
God bless you guys.

The Two Disempowering Phrases You Should Eliminate From Your Life - Duration: 2:11.
If you are looking to heal and grow as a human being, then there are two most disempowering
phrases that you absolutely need to stop thinking and saying.
The first one is, "I can't."
I can't is the most useless phrase that there is.
It only puts you in a state non-action, which means that you do nothing to do the important
things that you want and need to do and it makes you feel powerless and helpless.
Consider that whatever you say
every part of you, emotionally and physically will conspire to make it so.
That's the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot because you're hurting yourself
instead of helping yourself.
The next phrase that you should completely eliminate is, "This isn't going to work
for me."
It makes no difference what you are doing for the sake of improving your well-being.
It could be seeking one of the many forms of emotional therapy out there, seeking medical
help for a physical ailment or starting a new health regimen so you can slim down, if
you say, its not going to work for you, that's exactly what is going to happen because you
set it up that way.
Somehow, one way or another, you will end up proving that you were right so don't
even allow your mind to go there.
Instead of practically cursing yourself with these ways of thinking and talking, I suggest
you replace these phrases with phrases like I can.
And if you are working on something in particular, start taking on the attitude of an empowered
person by telling yourself and saying things such as, "I'm going to make this work
for me.
This is going to work for me."
This is the kind of take charge, empowering attitude that you want to have.
I don't care what you are doing right now to better yourself.
The only way it's going to work, is if you make it work, so take responsibility for your
inner talk and steer it in the right direction.
I'm very happy to announce that I've now started working on a new website where you'll
be able to access programs that will help you reach your goals.
Be sure to sign up for my newsletter, by going to SashaCarrion.com so that the moment the
new site is up and running, I can let you know.
