15 Things You Didn't Know About The Internet - Duration: 7:32.• How much does the internet weigh?
Who is the Catholic Church's patron saint of the Internet?
From web traffic to hacking, here are 15 bizarre and unusual facts about the internet.
15 – Tim Berners-Lee was knighted • Tim Berners-Lee, early in his career,
got himself in trouble at Oxford University for hacking university computers.
• Of course, he ended up graduating with a degree in physics and going on to invent
the World Wide Web in 1989.
• In 2004, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth, and in 2009, he was named an associate of
the United States National Academy of Sciences.
14 – The World Wide Web and the Internet • Though we use the words interchangeably,
the Internet and the World Wide Web are actually different things.
• The Web is specifically the network that uses URLs and HTML to browse to different
pages – like if you were to type in, say, "youtube.com" in an internet browser.
• But when you send an email, use an app on your phone, or transfer a file using FTP,
you're using the internet… but probably NOT the World Wide Web.
• The Internet is frequently called a "network of networks."
The World Wide Web is just ONE of those networks.
13 – 30,000 sites hacked every day • The days of hackers distributing malicious
code through e-mails or trojan horse downloads?
• Those days are over.
Now, they hack websites, often without detection, and distribute the code that way.
• They often target small businesses, who typically have no idea whatsoever that they've
been targeted.
12 – The Deep Web and Dark Web • Chances are, most of what you interact
with on the internet in a given day is part of the Surface Web.
• The Surface Web is, basically, anything you can Google.
The Deep Web is anything you can't find with a search engine.
• But even beyond that is the Dark Web – a section of the internet deliberately hidden
from anyone not specifically looking for it.
To access the Dark Web, you often need specific permissions and a special web browser intended
for it.
11 – China has a treatment center for internet addicts
• Some parents send their kids off the military school for bad behaviour.
In China, you can send your kids to a military bootcamp for treating internet addiction.
• Internet addiction is a real affliction, but at this camp, it's treated in a juvenile
hall-like facility, complete with a mix of military uniformed guards and psychiatrists.
10 – The Patron Saint of the Internet • The Catholic Church finds it rather important
for everything to have a patron saint.
So naturally, with the advent of the Internet in the 1990s, it would need one as well.
• Pope John Paul the Second decided that Isidore of Seville was to be the Patron Saint
of the Internet.
• Of course, Saint Isidore died more than 1,300 years before the Internet was invented.
But he was the man who spent his life trying to record every single piece of human knowledge
ever known, so it makes sense.
9 – Over half of web traffic is streaming and file sharing
• As of 2013, a combination of Netflix, YouTube, and BitTorrent made up more than
50 percent of all web traffic.
• By 2015, Netflix alone had grown to 37 percent, with YouTube accounting for just
under 16 percent.
• For reference, Facebook accounted for only 2.7 percent of bandwidth usage, and all
other non-video web browsing combined accounted for only 6 percent.
8 – Endless YouTube content • Are you on a quest to watch every single
YouTube video ever made?
• Well, stop.
It's literally impossible.
Over 72 hours – that's THREE DAYS – of YouTube content is generated and posted to
YouTube…
EVERY SINGLE MINUTE.
• It's probably best if you just subscribe to a few of your favorite channels and stick
with them.
7 – The world's first website is still online
• The first website ever created is a simple page with a white background and black text,
with a few hyperlinks.
• It was created in 1991 by Tim Berners-Lee, the aforementioned creator of the World Wide
Web, and unsurprisingly, its purpose is to actually explain what the World Wide Web actually
is.
• The original site was updated frequently, so there's no image of its very first version.
But you can still access a version of the site as it looked in 1992.
6 – "Digital birth" at six months in the West
• Digital natives are being born all the time now.
• Compared to "digital immigrants" – people who grew up in a non-digital world and adapted
– digital natives grew up with the Internet, smartphones, and social media.
• And digital technology is becoming second-nature to them earlier than ever, with children only
6 months old learning how to use touch screens and computer mice.
5 – The internet weighs as much as a strawberry • When people started making claims that
their Kindles got heavier as they downloaded more books onto it, it raised an interesting
question.
• Is that actually possible?
Does data have actual weight?
• In short, yes.
But we're talking about the weight of individual electrons and quarks.
But the entirety of everything on the entire internet weighs as much as a large strawberry,
or a medium-sized egg.
• So the tiny silver of that you can put on your Kindle?
You'd never be able to notice the difference in weight.
4 – Internet access is a legal right in Finland
• In 2010, when broadband internet was just starting to become common in the United States,
Finland passed a law making it a right of all its citizens.
• They provide a minimum of 1-megabit-per-second internet access to all citizens, with plans
to increase that to 100 megabits per second in the future.
• Many ISPs in the United States don't even offer a 100 megabit-per-second you can
pay for.
3 – The majority of internet traffic is not generated by humans, but by bots and malware
• Bots are everywhere on the internet.
Some of them help rank Google search results, or refresh your Facebook feed.
• Others have more harmful aims like DDoS attacks and malware.
• But bots in general make up about 52 percent of all web traffic, whether good or bad.
2 – Commercial activity online used to be explicitly banned
• The World Wide Web is generally credited with bringing the majority of the world onto
the internet in the 1990s.
• But the internet, or "ARPAnet" as it was known upon its invention in 1969, was
intended strictly for institutional use for most of its life.
• It wasn't until October of 1992 that the United States passed a law allowing businesses
to use the internet for commercial purposes.
1 – The internet is more than porn • There's no question that there's lots
of pornography on the internet.
• But the sheer quantity of it tends to be a bit exaggerated.
Internet pornography makes up only about 1.1 percent of all content on the internet.
• That's still a lot, but it's not EVERYTHING.
The internet is not JUST for porn.

10 Reasons I Love Southwest Airlines✔ - Duration: 7:40.hello healthynistas and welcome to my channel 50 something this channel is for
the overall well-being of people 50 and older but don't worry if you're in your
teens 20s 30s and 40s you can still apply a lot of the content I'm traveling
today so I'm having to use my phone and natural light and I'm in the bathroom
of all things but I want to take some time and talk about the airline
that I love traveling on and that is Southwest Airlines in today's video I'm
going to give you the ten reasons why I love Southwest Airlines and you're going
to want to watch it to the end because at the end of this video I'm going to
give you a tip that your wallet will love yes I said wallet and in addition
to that I'm going to also ask you to be part of a wider campaign so stay tuned
coming up
the first reason why I love Southwest Airlines is because they are the only
airline that you can check two bags for free
Southwest does not charge you any money to check-in two bags regardless of the
size the second reason why I love Southwest is you can have to carry ons
two actual carry ons the larger carry ons that we used to be able to put on the
airline and whatever you have whether it's a purse or your laptop or whatever
but an actual carry-on that is not too tiny and that you know you don't get
charged for second one the third reason that I love Southwest is because there
are no assigned seats so if you do come to Southwest if you do booked on
Southwest know that you have to check in 24 hours before you apply it you want to
do it immediately after it opens so 24 hours from the time you fly you want to
go ahead and check in and then you're going to get different groups either
you're boarding by group A, B or C now I always have to have a window seat so I
try to check in immediately and then I'll be in Group A or B and I can find
myself a window seat I have been in Group C and I've been able to go all
the way in the back and gotten a window seat so and I like that so don't come on
Southwest and say oh you're in my seat because you're in B 32 no it doesn't
work that way it's Group B 32 there are no assigned
seats the fourth reason why I love Southwest is because there are no change
fees if you for some reason have to change your flight nobody's going to
charge Southwest does not charge you anything to change your flight in
addition to that you can cancel your flight and it'll be you'll have credit
that is good to be able to apply to future flights
the fifth reason why I love Southwest is is that their prices are so reasonable
when you go online you'll see in the wanna getaway section their prices are
always very reasonable and this that leads me to the sixth reason that I love
Southwest is that what you see is what you get if Southwest
tells you that your price is a hundred and eighty nine dollars once you go
ahead and tally it up and book your flight it'll always be 188 and some
change it'll never be a hund $189 if they tell you is 189 it'll be less than
189 that means they've already included the fees and the taxes and everything
seventh reason that I love Southwest is that they are easy to redeem their
points are easy easily redeemable so for instance you can redeem a one-way if you
have a round trip you can redeem one-way if you only have points for one way and
then the the return can be paid but once you redeem your points on Southwest
all you have to do is pay that $5.00 and 60 cents and that's it I've taken a
flight for five dollars and 60 cents one way before awesome the eighth reason why
I love Southwest is because their attendants are very friendly I just took
a flight last night where the flight attendant was practically dancing the
one on the PA system was making jobs and I experience this every time I take
Southwest the ninth reason why I love Southwest is their pilots are caring you
can tell it in their voices and sometimes even when we're declaiming
they will come stand at the door of the cockpit and say goodbye to you they
truly are caring and it shows the 10th reason why I loves flying south
it's now they fly to a lot of destinations they fly to over a hundred
destinations in the US and international destinations and they're
adding more and more now that I have given you the ten points am I being paid for this?
no I am NOT being paid for this I'm not getting any compensation whatsoever but
I truly truly love Southwest and wanted to share it with you a lot of people
don't realize all the benefits of flying Southwest because all they know are the
other airlines and the reason why you don't know that you might not know
Southwest is because you can only booked tickets on Southwest website you're not
gonna you might be able to pull it on some search engines but you may not see
prices so you definitely need to go to the Southwest Airlines website to book
and that's why I'm trying to make this available to everybody because I feel so
strongly they are the only airline that truly understands customer service now
now that you've watched it to the end here's the tip I am going to give you
Southwest Airlines stocks have been steadily going up and they are not gonna
let they're not gonna let up so they are traded on the New York Stock Exchange as
LuV right love awesome that was wonderful when I found that out because
I feel so much love for Southwest so go buy some stocks because for instance if
you would have purchased stock in Southwest at the end of September of
September 27 three months later if you had gotten a
hundred shares three months later you in December 27 you would have made a
thousand dollars already the other thing I want to ask you is join me in a
campaign of love for the airline that truly cares about people I want you to
share this video on all of social media I want you
retweet it I want you to share it on Facebook Instagram and let's build more
following and more more passengers for Southwest why because we love Southwest
Southwest is treating us extremely well they are not trying to gouge us and
trying to figure out how much they can charge for the next time as I tell my
people doing something is better than nothing see in the next video

Fix guitar intonation with Airyware Tuner - Duration: 1:25.This guitar has bad intonation.
Despite the perfect tuning with all open strings it sounds quite bad when played at high frets.
This is because the pitch of the fretted E string is too low.
Low pitch is caused by the too long distance between the bridge and the fret.
Let's shorten it.
You need to rotate the screw counterclock wise to push the bridge saddle closer to frets.
Let's tune the open string back to its perfection.
Now let's check how the fretted string sounds.
It's perfect too.
The intonation is fixed.
Now the guitar sounds much better.
Enjoy.
