Waching daily Dec 4 2017

What a lot of people don't realize is that from seed to an actual seven-foot

Christmas tree it takes about 15 years, and we do the whole process here.

So when I walk into a field of 7-foot Christmas trees that are ready to go that year

it's a tremendous feeling of accomplishment because there's been all

sorts of adversity to getting those trees from seed to somebody's living room.

It's quite satisfying to see them in there in their final state ready to

go and of course they bring a lot of happiness to families and that's nice

for us as well. Somerville Nurseries Inc started

basically in 1950 when my father started planting Christmas trees on lands that

his great-grandfather had accumulated in the late 18th century and early 19th century.

We're actually very fortunate to be still planting Christmas trees on

some land so we've had since the turn of the century. Now this year we'll be

ringing in about a hundred and sixty thousand trees and then from here they

all go on their outgoing trucks to the various stages of the market where

they're going. People mainly in urban areas live a very busy, active life and I

know Christmas is kind of a stressful time, and I think when I go out visiting

customers and I see people going in and taking time and finding that perfect

tree that they like and taking it home it brings a lot of satisfaction to me

and joy to me to see that they're actually enjoying something that we've

taken so long to produce.

Things I Get The Most Compliments On - Gentleman's Gazette - Duration: 11:24.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette!

Today's video is about the things I get most complimented on and I want to share them with

you so you can adapt them and get compliments too.

Getting a compliment is a confidence boost for everybody I know and probably also for

you.

One of the benefits of dressing well is not that you just get better service, people respect

you more, but naturally, you'll also get more compliments.

Because you dress up, people automatically assume you know about clothes, they also assume

a certain level of wealth and status, and they just think of you more highly.

In my experience, it is also a great conversation starter, if you are a little shyer, receiving

a compliment is a perfect way to start the conversation.

Now unfortunately, a lot of people aren't used to getting compliments once they dress

up, they get them, they don't know how to reply properly because of that, we did a video

on how to reply and accept and take a compliment and you should definitely check it out here.

Now I like to dress up and in 95% of the cases, I am always the best dressed man in the room

or in the situation and because of that, I stand out in a certain way.

I do so subtly and most people can't pinpoint it at the same time, it just earns me compliments

automatically.

Dressing differently and especially dressing up will earn you compliments too I guarantee

it.

Over the years I've received a lot of compliments, and so I sat down and thought about what I'm

most complimented on and what are the things that I earn compliments for so you can cut

right through the chase and do it yourself as well.

One, I often get complimented on my general outfit or on the way I look.

Sometimes people will say "hey great suit man" even though it's a sport coat combination,

and so all I do is thanks and smile because I don't want to insult a person and not give

other people compliments in the future and also don't look like a jerk.

Most of the time, people will just say "hey you look really great" and they don't notice

all the individual elements that are in my outfit but they just think overall, it's very

pleasing to their eye.

In order to create outfits like that, you want to have a harmonious outfit with no single

item that stands out too much.

You can do that with colors, and with patterns, with textures, and it's really too much to

discuss in one video, so I'd suggest you check out our videos here regularly on this channel

and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

Two, boutonnieres.

Probably the single most item I get compliment for are the lapel flowers or boutonnieres.

While most men haven't heard of them today, they're actually something that have been

around in classic menswear for a long time.

They've just fallen out of favor because it was a lot of work to get a fresh-cut boutonniere

from your florist everyday; not only was it expensive but you also needed a florist close

by that knew how to make a boutonniere.

Unfortunately in this day and age, it's very rare to find a florist who can actually do

that.

When I went on a cruise, I realized I wanted to wear boutonnieres a lot more but I couldn't

find them, so I decided to design them myself and we've created silk boutonnieres that look

like real flowers but they're actually not.

It has the advantage that they will never wilt, you could wear them day in and day out,

and it's also a lot less expensive.

It's really such a simple thing and it takes even less time than putting in a pocket square.

In our shop, we also have over 40 different kinds in different colors so no matter what

colors you prefer or if you have a lot of blue tones or red tones, we have the right

flowers for you.

The minute you wear it and no matter if you are in the airport, at restaurants, and a

meeting, people will always notice and compliment you on it.

Honestly, that's not just my experience, I talk to lots of customers and my father-in-law,

my father, whoever wears it gets the compliment.

The third item I get a lot of compliments for are colorful gloves.

Obviously, you can only wear them during the colder months of the year or during the transitioning

seasons, but if you go with unlined gloves, you really only can't wear it in the summer.

Most men today wear either black gloves or brown gloves, however, elegant gentlemen in

the past would often wear grey gloves because they weren't as dull as black and it would

combine with a lot more items.

Also, they would have chamois yellow gloves or burgundy gloves or very light cognac colored

gloves because of that, I decided to design a range of gloves in different colors and

materials with a little button for old twist that provided a really great range of movements,

out of very soft leathers, in colors that are easy to combine in your outfits.

So if you're in a market for a pair of gloves, I urge you to check out our shop because we

have gray, we have burgundy, we have dark green, we have petrol blue, we have cognac

with brown, and anything else you would want to have in a nice pair of gloves.

We even have bronze rust orange gloves because most men wear boring black and brown gloves,

I always get a compliment from at least one person whenever I wear them.

The fourth thing I'm probably most complimented on is a three-piece suit.

People won't say "oh what an awesome great three-piece suit" because sometimes they

won't even notice but I can tell that I get more compliments with three-piece suits than

with two-piece suits.

I suspect that's because a three-piece suit is less common, it also shows less of your

shirt at the same time, you wear your jacket unbuttoned and people can see the pattern

of the suit, and it just provides a different air around your appearance.

So if you're in the market for a suit, consider getting a three-piece suit next time because

that way, you can wear as such or maybe combine it with other items in your wardrobe.

The fifth thing I get most complimented on is probably my rope stripe navy suit.

While some people think of it as an Al Capone suit, most people really like it and for some

reason, they think it's a 30s suit even though the 30s suit is not quite cut in the same

way.

Most people are not so familiar with the intricacies of suit cuts and they just associate a double

breasted peak lapel suit with stripes with this kind of era.

It's just a very interesting look and some people would consider you to be a banker,

or someone of a certain standing, because other people would not wear a suit like that.

The funny thing about this rope stripe suit is that it was actually my first quality suit

and it was from Ralph Lauren Purple Label.

At the time, I could have never afforded new so I just bought it off eBay for a few hundred

bucks but it was an investment and it's to this day the favorite suit of my wife so I

wear it on occasion and whenever I do, she's particularly pleased.

The sixth thing I'm complimented on most often are vests.

I love to wear vests especially during the fall winter season because they add a layer

to my outfits, they keep me warm yet they provide an opportunity for me to change the

look of exactly the same outfit with just a very small investment.

My favorite odd vest to combine is probably the burgundy vest and you can learn more about

our vests and how I combined them in this video here.

The seventh thing I get most compliment on are jackets in an unusual color.

Most men today wear colors in let's say black, charcoal, or some form of Navy.

If you wear a different colored jacket such as this Brown and off-white Prince of Wales

check with a blue over plaid, it just shows that you are different than other men and

the same is true if I wear for example, a green jacket, or a seersucker jacket, or any

kind of thing that is just outside of the usual realm of what most men would wear.

This is not only true for suit jackets, Blazers, or sport coats, but also for more casual items.

For example, the other day, I took a walk around the lake with my light green linen

Safari jacket and three separate people stop me and complimented me on my jacket, as well

as on my driving gloves.

One man even went so far as to ask me where I got it so he could get one himself.

Another jacket I get complimented on very often is a quilted jacket made of a houndstooth

tweed in brown, green, and caramel colors.

It's something I wear a lot during transitioning season; sometimes just over things or when

I run some errands, and people always look at it and are like "wow this is an awesome

jacket where'd you get that" so if you want compliments try to get something that is out

of the ordinary without being too flashy.

No one wants a bright orange or bright red suit because that's just over the top.

If you go with subtle patterns and colors such as brown, that's enough to make a difference

and stand out and earn a compliment.

The eighth thing I'm most complimented on are bowties.

Most men today either don't wear any form of neck wear or maybe they wear ties but very

rarely knew they were bowties.

It takes a certain kind of man that can pull off a bowtie and if you're not sure you can,

I urge you to watch the video on how to pull off a bowtie because I firmly believe every

man can do it and once you do so, you become more confident and automatically you'll get

more compliments.

I know some people associate a bowtie with a certain kind of standing such as a college

professor but you can even pull them off as a young guy and it's just about a matter of

confidence and how you combine them with your colors.

So, All these eight things are something that you can do as well in your wardrobe and I

guarantee you once you make those changes, you will get compliments left and right!

in today's outfit I am wearing a more untraditional suit in the sense that it is a Prince of Wales

check with an overplaid most of the time people only see this as a sport coat but not as a

suit that in itself makes it special because of the blue over plaid I combined it with

a blue dress shirt from and with it I have a bow tie from Fort Belvedere in a shantung

silk fabric that is red and blue because of that it's not a very bright color but it's

very subtle and it goes well with the shirt in the suit yet it provides a certain amount

of contrast the yellow stripe likewise provide contrast in my bow tie but it's also picked

up by my bright tan shoes my pockets square is also from Fort Belvedere in a different

kind of blue tone that just ties everything together my socks are solid Brown with clocks

and I could wear them very well with this outfit because it's not a solid suit or solid

pair of pants but a pattern pair because of that it's very easy to combine solid socks

with it to learn more about how to combine shoes with socks and pants please check out

this video here because blue is another one accent color in this outfit I went with a

gold ring and the blue stone as well as a light blue delphinium boutonniere because

like I said don't years are in the number one item I had compliments for you can find

all these accessories in our shop here if you enjoyed this video definitely make sure

to watch the video on how to take and accept the compliment because otherwise it's a moot

point to get compliments in the first place

5 Weird Things You Didn't Know about Japan - Duration: 4:53.

5 Weird Things about Japan.

Welcome to WickedFeed.

A place to kill time, be inspired, and embrace everything wicked.

Do you ever ?nd yourself at a 24-hour Denny's about to eat three pancakes bigger than your

face at 4 AM on a Wednesday?

Me tooand that's totally ?ne, no judgement.

But just a heads up, there are some countries who might look at that scene and think What

the hell?

That's messed up, man And you know what?

That's totally ?ne too.

Because all countries have those weird quirks that are totally normal to a local, but completely

nuts to everyone else.

Hi, I'm Brad with WickedFeed, and today we are taking a look at 5 weird facts about Japan.

So grab your anime body pillows and hold on tight.

#5 - Toilet Slippers Toilet slippers.

Yes, toilet slippers.

Slippers worn while you are in the bathroom.

But why?

This seems like an oddly speci?c accessory to have, even nowadays.

But it's for real.

In Japanese culture they're all about keeping it clean and the bathroom is generally considered

on the dirty end of the rectum (pause) excuse me spectrum.

Therefore - Gotta go number 2?

Fire on the ol' shitter shoes and have at er.

While the concept seems simple enough, I just can't fathom having an accessory that speci?cits

like having socks you specically put on to have sex.

Just.

Plain.

Weird.

#4 - Japans Most Popular Pizza Topping Move over pepperoni, there's a new kid in

town.

It's name?

Squid.

(pause) Yep.

Squid.

(pause) On pizza.

(pause) Its for real.

And you thought it was annoying to pick the olives off your otherwise pristine slice of

pie.

Now, I've never tried this one so I'm only going off imagination here, but man, it's

not looking good.

To many, squid on pizza is like ?nding a sex tape then seeing it stars your Grandma.

You're stoked you found a sex tape until you actually watch it and then you want to vomit.

You know what though, Japan?

At least it's not pineapple.

So you do you.

#3 - Mochi Okay, so most people know what sticky rice

is, and if you don't, just think about it for a second.

It's not rocket surgery.

Now, Mochi is like the sticky rice on steroids.

Picture painted?

Good.

But what's so weird about that?

Nothing on the surface.

But Mochi is a traditional New Year dish which results in over 100 hospitalizations a year

for choking.

Considering you'd celebrate New Years generally one day a year (twice if you're stuck at work

or something) that's an entirely irrational number of people to choke on dinner.

But on top of that - SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY DIE!

I mean, I get it, I really like having turkey at Christmas, but if there's a turkey choking

epidemic once a year I'm gonna have to swap out ol' faithful for something else'maybe

even some squid pizza (pause) On second thought, I'll take my chances

#2 - Passive aggressive ?rings.

So, like most places Japan has labour laws which prevent people getting ?red without

compensation.

How do companies get around this?

Well, think Of?ce Space when they keep sending Milton to worse and worse places in the hopes

he'll just leave.

It's exactly like that.

They're called boredom rooms and you're sent there to do the most pointless mind numbing

tasks until you just quit.

(Bill Lumbergh impression) Yeeeahhhh, I'm gonna need you to go and sort these paper

clips by weight to the nearest thousandth of a milligramthanks It's cruel, its unusual,

and it's totally crazy.

Why go to such lengths to not ?re someone?

Can the laws be that bad or are they just way too obsessed with Mr. Lumbergh?

#1 Vending Machines Japan seems to be in the middle of a little

product-delivery renaissance.

The country is centuries ahead of the rest of us when it comes to delivering bizarre

items through vending machines.

It's not just a simple decision of Twix vs. Famous Amos Cookies in Japan.

There are banana machines, umbrella machines and hamburger machines.

There are even fun mystery machines that will give you something random.

It does take an especially strange turn though, as women's used panties are sold in vending

machines as well.

Selling condoms in machines doesn't sound too odd, but in Japan, there are entire machines

full of sex toys.

Really, the point is just about everything in Japan can be purchased from a vending machine.

They really are ahead of the curb with automation.

I guess that's the future.

What kind of items would you put in a vending machine?

Let us know in the comment section below.

Thanks for watching this episode and embracing the weirdness with us.

What countries would you like to see featured next?

Be sure to like this video, subscribe and hit that notification bell so you get notifications

whenever we upload.

But most importantly stay wicked.

Why You Should Never Use Your Phone After 6PM|2MTV - Duration: 5:33.

Why You Should Never Use Your Phone After 6PM

A good night's sleep is one of the best things we can do for the health of our body, yet the majority of us still struggle with what sounds like a simple facet of life.

The importance of enough quality deep sleep should not be underestimated.

It is the time where we rest, recover and rejuvenate.

Unfortunately many modern day aspects are working against us when it comes to our sleep.

Artificial light, electronics, stressful jobs, and caffeine are a few things that can have a significant impact on your sleep, however, there are a few simple things to considering doing for a better night's sleep. .

Exercise.

Exercise has countless health benefits.

One of them is its ability to help us sleep by fatiguing the body.

While exercise is extremely beneficial, it is best done during the day rather than at night when you're trying to relax.

Strenuous exercise can result in a release of adrenaline and make you feel awake for a period of time afterwards; exactly what you don't need in the evenings.

Avoid Caffeine After Noon.

Caffeine is a stimulant that will affect sleep.

With a half-life of approximately 5 hours, about a quarter of the caffeine in a 3:00 p.m.

cup of coffee are still in the system after 10:00 p.m.

when you should be heading to sleep.

While you may not feel the effects of the coffee that you had earlier, caffeine has been shown to disrupt your sleep.

Eat Dinner Early.

Get your final meal in as early as you can to give your body enough time to fully empty your stomach.

It may take up to two hours for a full stomach to empty, so give yourself adequate time before trying to sleep.

An empty stomach will help avoid acid reflux issues which can worsen when you lie down to sleep.

Install A Blue Light Filter On Your Computer And Phone.

If you're like most people, using your phone and computer in the evenings, consider installing a blue light filter.

The blue wavelength of light is the most potent portion of the visible light spectrum that affects our sleep.

These filters are easily downloadable for your mobile devices and computers, and act by automatically cutting out blue light in the evenings.

Black Out Your Bedroom.

Try and sleep in complete darkness.

This may be difficult to achieve, but our body's melatonin production, which helps us sleep, is best in dark environments.

Any artificial light present while trying to sleep can interrupt our circadian rhythm as well as suppress melatonin production, negatively impacting your sleep.

If any light is making its way into your bedroom, try and eliminate it as best you can.

This may involve turning off or unplugging all electronic devices, installing thicker curtains, or using black sheets to block out street lights.

Go To Sleep Earlier.

Studies have shown the hours before midnight to be extremely beneficial when it comes to a good night's sleep.

It is recommended you try to get to sleep before 10:00 p.m.

as these earlier hours are more important than the total number of hours sleep you get.

If you're feeling groggy upon waking, don't try to sleep more.

Rather, try to get to sleep earlier and wake up earlier.

Sleep plays a huge role in our energy levels and can dictate how we feel during the day, which is why everyone should consider these six tips.

Some might not work for everyone and changing your daily habits may take some time, but keep working at it and hopefully you'll be getting that regular good night's sleep you've dreamed of having.

Watch: KARD Members Switch Parts And Dance To "You In Me"

The KARD members gathered in a dance practice room for the fun challenge of swapping parts with each other to perform their latest track You In Me.

You In Me is the co-ed groups latest track from their second mini album You & Me, which was released on November 21. Soompi. Display. News. English. 300x250. Mobile. English. 300x250. ATF.

Each member drew a piece of paper that had another members name on it. J.Seph and Jiwoo got each others names, while BM and Somin drew their own names. To make things fair, BM and Somin swapped parts anyway.

After getting into formation, the members struggled from the beginning. J.Seph even danced looking at the mirror at one point while other members also had difficulty remembering their newly assigned positions.

The members pulled and pushed each other to help them find their spots, and, at one point, J.Seph accidentally elbowed BM in the chest.

When the song ended, Jiwoo collapsed onto the floor, while everyone had an expression of utter confusion on their faces. Check out the KARDs stunning MV for You & Me here. Watch the hilarious video of KARD dancing with reassigned positions below!.

Building Wealth With Private Notes - Preview Video - Duration: 1:10.

hi this is Chad Carson from CoachCarson.com. I want to tell you about an article

I just wrote over at BiggerPockets about building wealth with private notes.

I talk a lot about rental properties and also flipping properties but this is

another strategy with in real estate investing that is just as powerful and

what it means is that instead of being the owner of the property you're the money

behind the property the lender. And in the article I explain a couple main

ways that you can make this happen. One is by being the person who loans the

money maybe to another investor whose flipping a house or buying a rental

property or you can buy existing notes mortgages buy them at a discount. And so

both of those ways are very viable ways to do it. And if you don't have the money

personally, this is a great strategy for using your

IRA or your 401k you can self direct those with certain custodians and

be the passive lender behind some of these deals so that's what article is

all about I hope you find it helpful please go see it in the links below and

if you have any questions or comments I'd love to hear from you and have a

discussion about private notes and how you're using them or want to use them

and your real estate investing business so I'll see you there thanks for your

time

7 Top Tips to Convince Your Employer to Pay for Your Online Technical Training - Duration: 5:28.

Hi, Scott here from GBCtechtraining.

Do you need to boost your skills and increase your technical knowledge but don't know

how to ask your employer to pay for the training you need?

Today, we'd like to help you get better prepared to ask that question by providing

our top 7 tips to persuade your employer to pay for your technical training.

Number One

Check your company's tuition reimbursement policies.

Companies usually have policies that address employee training and development that contain

information about acceptable training options, support for tuition reimbursement, and the

budgets allocated for it.

If your employer doesn't have a formal policy, you should start the conversation by asking

someone in the HR whether the company ever pays for employee's training and go

from there.

Number Two

Ask about training at the right time.

Typically, training budgets are allocated at the beginning of your company's fiscal

year, so it's better to request funding as early as you can

in the year, before the

budget gets used up on other people's training.

Number three

Include your Manager and other key decision makers in the training evaluation process.

Remember, other departments, like HR may need to be involved in the evaluation and

the approval of your proposed training.

Getting them involved as early as possible in the process will improve your chances of

getting a final approval.

Number four

Carefully research your training options and be prepared to present your findings if asked.

It's important to do your research: Compare curriculum, costs, duration, format,

online or in class and pros and cons of each option.

Gather this information and be prepared to present your findings to your manager and

other key decision makers.

Your research summary will go a long way to speed up the decision making process.

Number five

Your company may be eligible for government sponsorships, tax credits or deductions for

training.

So if you Identify local and regional government sponsorship, tax credit and other deduction then ask your

HR department if the training you are interested in is eligible.

Number six

Create a list of ways that your company will benefit from your training.

Your employer will want to understand what the impact of your training will have on you,

your department and on the greater company.

Some examples of the positive impact of training are:

A trained employee typically reduces the need and cost for outside contractors. New technical knowledge and skills will get shared with others across your department.

Your efficiency and productivity will increase and the time to accomplish some tasks will be reduced.

And generally trained employees have a positive attitude towards their organization and are inclined

to accept more responsability

Number seven

Anticipate and try to address any possible questions about your preferred training option.

For example

Will you stay around long enough for the company to benefit from the training?

Reassure your employer that you don't want to be trained just to find another job.

If it seems like this might be an issue, than you maybe suggest an agreement to pay back the tuition assistance

if you leave the organization before an agreed upon period of time.

If you are considering a program like GBC TechTraining program you might address their questions

like this:

How much time away from work?

Well, the answer is None!

GBC Programs will fit into your personal time.

They are self-paced, no scheduled classes that allow you to study

whenever and wherever you are.

Do the programs include hands-on training?

Yes they do. For example, PLC Technician II incorporates PLCLogix 5000 simulation software that allows you to

test, debug and practice programming by converting you computer into a simulated PLC.

Another question is What are the costs and are there any payment issues?

This technical training has flexible registration. You can use "pay as you learn"

And that way your company is paying for the tuition as you successfully proceed through the program and exams.

Lastly they might want to know if there is any Technical support available to help you along the way

Yes, full technical support is available 6 days a week by phone and email to help the students

with any and all problems you might have.

So, keep in mind your employers perspective and be prepared to argue that what you get from

your training will benefit them and the company as well.

By using the right combination of these tips, there is no reason why your company shouldn't

seriously consider reimbursing your tuition for your training.

So don't be shy.

Ask your employer to invest on your training and be ready to show all the benefits of it

to you and to the company.

Contractor Testimonial - D. Rushford Plumbing, Heating & AC - Duration: 0:32.

I'm Dana Rushford, of D. Rushford Mechanical. Been in business since 2000, and I like

working with Hulbert Supply because they're a small, locally owned business as

opposed to some of our other suppliers that are major corporations that have

branches throughout New England, some throughout the country. So I

feel a little bit easier doing business with them, because it's more of a smaller

and local family-owned operated business, as a small contractor myself.
