How to get the perfect skin look with one cushion!

ft. Etude House Any Cushion All Day Perfect

Hey guys! This is Soo here

So as some of you guys might know,

i do not have a perfect skin

i get lots of acnes

and therefore get a lot of acne scarrings

so today i'll be reviewing the new Etude House Any Cushion

and show you guys how i get the perfect looking skin!

First off, this cushion is called the Any Cushion All Day Perfect

and it was just released today!

there are 5 shades in total

For me, in order to correct my yellow skin tone,

i am using the shade in Vanilla, which is a pink base

So this cushion is said to have perfect coverage, application and longevity

out of all, it has really good coverage

So let me start the tutorial right now~

Before I use the cushion,

I'm going to color correct my skin

In order to correct my blue-toned dark circles

I'm applying a salmon pink color corrector under my eyes

Using a mint shade to correct my redness,

and a lavender shade to add some volume onto my skin

Now for the cushion!

First I'm applying it on my chin, where there's a lot of acne scars

as you can see, this cushion gives really good coverage

I've used this cushion a couple of times

and i didn't need to use a concealer separately

and because this cushion has really good coverage,

i thought the formula would be really thick

it applied really well onto the skin

and the formula wasn't too overwhelmingly thick

The formula is also not mattefying at all- it is slight dewey

but if you have dry skin or you just want a really dewey look

just take a mist and spray it onto your puff

and just apply the product

So i've just applied the any cushion

and as you can see,

all my acnes and hyperpigmentations are covered up

and i think this product gives a really nice healthy look to the skin

Now let me just finish up my makeup

First I'm applying a bit of eye primer

and with a neutral base shade called Cafe latte,

I'm just putting that all over the lids

Now I'm taking this Wonder Fun Park Palette, which is a recent release

I'm applying the color "심쿵 핑크" on the lids as well

This shade is a bit of a muted pink

so you don't have to worry about your eyes looking swollen

Now with this bright pink color called "달콤 솜사탕"

I'm just outlining my double lid line with a pencil bush

and for under the eye,

I'm taking that "심쿵 핑크" color again

and just lightly running that over under the eyes

Now I'm going to curl my eyelashes

and outline my eyes

because today is all about that perfect skin look

I'm just going to draw the tiniest cateye- nothing too much

when you use a pen liner like this

it works best if you lay them down a bit to the side

with Dr. Mascara, i'm going to prime my eyelashes

and just apply a bit of mascara on top

For my nose shading, I'm taking the shade "Cafe latte" again

and start from the beginnings of my eyebrows

and just follow the sides of my nose

for the blush

I'm taking this shade in Peach Parfait which is perfect for spring

Now with a highlighter stick,

I'm going to put this slightly on parts where i want to highlight

and just gently blend it with my fingers

Last but not least, the lipsticks!

with this light pink shade, I'm going to apply it ever so slightly on my lips

Voila! With the Any cushion, i transformed my acne skin

into a radiant healthy looking skin

what do you guys think of it?

If you enjoyed this video, make sure to like and subscribe~

See you guys in my next~Bye~

Goodgame Empire - Armor of the Foreign Warlord - Duration: 12:50.

Hello everyone, I'm Breor, and welcome back to Goodgame Empire.

I hope that introduction was entertaining for you… it's something I made around

this time last year when I was first experimenting with the idea of making a video about the

foreign invader commander.

The foreign invader commander was a really big deal for me at the time for two reasons.

It was the first commander I had attained that I knew would be suitable for attacking

other players, which opened up the door for me to participate in the war I found myself

[in] at the time.

It was also special because I earned it with the help of my audience.

At the time, it was necessary to place within the top one hundred castle lords in the Foreign

Invasion if you wanted to complete the set.

I published a video here on YouTube requesting gifts of glory banners so I could make this

happen, and my audience at the time sent thousands of tools.

At the end of today's video I'll read through a list of the players who took the

time to help out, and I am indebted to them for my first foreign invader commander.

I have in my inventory today two fully-upgraded foreign invader commanders, and I use them

often for crushing samurai and nomad camps.

These commanders are also great for dealing with the foreign invaders because they allow

the player to place more troops on the flank of the attack.

These means that, most of the time, a foreigner's defenses are much more easily broken in a

single real wave of attack.

I will have added the full stats for the foreign invader up on the screen now, so let's run

through some of the more important ones.

The Armor of the Foreign Warlord is a 90/90 equipment set that offers a solid reduction

to the strength of the enemy's walls, moat, and gate.

It provides a bonus to the travel speed of the attacking army and also causes it to be

detected by the enemy later.

The set will increase the strength of attackers in the courtyard by 37%, and when you add

courtyard gems to it like I have, you'll be able to get a courtyard bonus of around

100% (97% in my case).

While the commander is now outclassed by the nine-piece sets that have been added to the

game since its own introduction, at the time it was the commander to be reckoned with.

In terms of combat strength, the foreign invader commander is really all you could need.

Like I mentioned before, it's perfect for repelling foreign invaders.

It's weak in terms of travel speed and detection, which really only come into play when one

goes to attack other human castle lords.

Still, unless your target is in a powerful alliance capable of providing support, a well-organized

attack led by this commander will be difficult to stop.

Though you'll need the full set to make a solid commander with stats like these, of

particular importance is the foreign invader hero.

It provides extra space for troops on the flanks, which - as I already mentioned - is

helpful for foreign invaders.

It can also make it more difficult for a human defender to hold a flank, though anyone with

proper training or advice will be able to secure a single flank against this commander.

The invader hero also contributes to the impressive courtyard bonus offered by the set.

To demonstrate the power of this commander in this video, I'll be sending out an attack

against this foreign invader.

The target has over four-and-a-half thousand defenders, which means I can expect to receive

both a considerable number of casualties and a considerable amount of glory.

I'm hoping to defeat the target using just one attack, but I'm certain that I'll

put a big dent in the foreigner's numbers even if I don't.

I'm in a difficult position when it comes to obtaining glory… though it will certainly

be a glorious hit, I'm lacking horsetail banners and honor.

I don't have any horsetail banners because I have been saving nomad tablets so that I

can spend them during a seasonal event booster only.

I'm low on honor because my alliance hasn't been to war lately and I try to avoid attacking

other players at random because I could be attacking a subscriber.

Regardless, the video needs to be made, and I have too many soldiers to feed comfortably,

so I'm forging ahead with the attack.

I've shown you guys how to attack foreign invaders in previous videos, so I'll only

provide a basic overview here.

If you need more assistance, check the video description for a link to where you can learn

more.

I normally use sacrifices against foreign invaders to dispose of their tools, but I'm

not going to in this instance simply because the target has so many troops.

I'd like to get the maximum possible [number] of troops into the courtyard even if that

means taking more casualties on the wall.

I'll be using tools that provide both real bonuses and small glory bonuses, and I'll

use more of them than necessary to get the most glory I can from this attack.

Because the defender has split his wall troops between the center and one flank, I'm pretty

confident I can dispose of them using one wave of attack alone.

If I wasn't confident about this, I could send more real attack tools (in other words,

not banners) with my second wave of attack.

I wouldn't need to use as many attack tools then as I had on my first wave, because my

first wave would act like a sacrificial wave even though it's not.

I don't want to be too cautious about adding another wave of real attack tools when I don't

need to though, because this takes away from the space I have to add full glory banners.

I've made my decision about what attackers to include in the subsequent waves of attack

based upon how many melee and ranged defenders the target has stationed in the courtyard.

In order to minimize the risk that the defense setup of this foreigner will change, I'll

send my attack out using racehorses.

Doing so gives less time for changes to occur.

I'll also send along some spies to double-check no changes have occurred since I last spied

this foreigner before I launched my attack.

The great thing about this being a YouTube video is that I can time-lapse the journey

of the troops toward their target so we don't have to wait for them to arrive.

And we have our report!

The first thing I've noticed is that the army is returning home, which indicates we

won.

The screen has also been covered in prize popups.

The great thing about participating in the foreign invasion and events like it is that

the troop rewards will make up for a lot of the losses you accrue on the first few hits.

As you can see, in addition to troops, I picked up a few tools and accelerators that will

help me out later.

Let's open up the inbox so we can take a look at the battle report.

Alright, wow, that's actually pretty good.

I could have easily gotten more glory than this had my honor been higher, or had I used

horsetail standards, but the point of this video was to show the power of the foreign

invader commander, and I think this report highlights that power nicely.

The report details reveal that we did indeed break through the enemy's defenses on the

first wave, so it was a good decision on my part to use glory banners starting on wave

two.

I imagine it was also a pretty good decision not to use sacrifices, because, as you can

see, a lot of the fighting happened in the courtyard.

So now that you've seen the foreign invader is a capable commander, let's discuss how

you might go about getting one yourself.

As I spoke about earlier, it used to be that the only way to finish the set was to place

within the top one hundred castle lords at the foreign invasion, a nearly impossible

task for players who didn't already one of these commanders.

However, since the introduction of the Bloodcrow Invasion and the nine-piece commander set

that went with it, the developers have made the Armor of the Foreign Warlord easier to

get.

Keep a lookout for all of the pieces in the rewards pages for participating in the event.

They appear one or two at a time, on rotation, so you'll need to do well in the event several

times if you want to collect the entire set.

The foreign invader is one of those sets which requires full upgrades at the technicus before

it can actually become a 90/90.

The price of full upgrades can range based upon your luck, but approximately ten million

coins should cover them.

I would caution you against hyper-focusing on the last few upgrades, which are by far

the most expensive, if you're a newly-budding player who could use the coins elsewhere.

Some of the pieces of the foreign invader commander can be combined with other uniques

to create interesting custom equipment sets.

I plan to make a video about such combinations sometime in the future, so if you'd be interested

in hearing about that, please consider subscribing to the channel.

That's all I have for this video.

Thanks very much for watching, and for your continued support of my channel.

I'll catch you in the next one.

Catalogs IV: Materials Catalog - Duration: 4:20.

Welcome to the "getting started" tutorials.

In this tutorial,

we would like to show how to use the Materials Catalog.

In VirtualLab Fusion, users can take advantage of the Materials Catalog

to define or compose (whichever fits best)

homogeneous or inhomogeneous media.

In the Catalogs Ribbon,

you can easily check out the Materials Catalog.

When we click on this button for the first time,

it takes more than one second to open the related window.

it takes more than one second to open the related window.

But on subsequent tries it pops up immediately.

On the left side,

the Materials Catalog opens to the "LightTrans defined" category by default:

a list of particular materials of interest

which are predefined in VirtualLab Fusion.

They are grouped under different headings,

which are named after the vendors, e.g. Schott,

or after different kinds of material, e.g. metals.

There are two other definition types:

"Templates" and "User Defined".

Under "Templates", there is a list of general approaches to define materials.

We can define the abbe number or import n-k data.

Any materials which have been created or modified

according to a specific set of parameters can be saved as "User Defined".

Later on in the video

video we will show an example of how to save your own materials

in the "User Defined" list

When you know the name of a material,

it is possible to search for it by inputting the name here.

As an example, we input BK7 here,

which as we can see narrows the search.

We then select the option closest to our requirements, e.g. Schott.

When we click on this material,

on the right side, a diagram is shown.

In this diagram, the default horizontal axis is the wavelength.

We can see the changes of refractive index and the absorption coefficient

depending on wavelength.

This diagram can be configured by clicking the button "Configure Diagram".

Here we can change the horizontal axis of the diagram to energy

by marking "Show Energy Dependence Instead of Wavelength Dependence".

Now the horizontal axis becomes Energy.

We could also change the physical parameters of the vertical axis.

E.g. if we are just interested in refractive index,

then we open the "Configure Diagram" again and unmark "Show Absorption".

Now only the refractive index appears in the diagram.

The color and line thickness can also be configured.

E.g. we change the color to be black and thickness to be 5.

In the tab "Additional Information",

we can find the state of matter, e.g. N-BK 7 is solid.

We can also find the definition range for refractive index or absorption.

In the tab "Calculator",

we can calculate the refractive index, absorption coefficient or index

at a specific wavelength and temperature.

As an example, here we change the wavelength from 532nm to be 632 nm,

then the values are automatic changed.

We can configure the material by clicking on the edit button.

In the pop-up edit window,

we can define the refractive index by different dispersion formula.

N-BK7 is defined by using formula Sellmeier 1 and the parameters are defined in Data.

Here all parameters can be modified.

The refractive index can also be defined by a series of sampled data.

These sampled data can be loaded from other files or directly inputted by users.

These sampled data can be loaded from other files or directly inputted by users.

The refractive index can be just a constant.

Once the material is defined, click OK.

In the pop-up window you are instructed to give it a name.

Click OK: the personalized material will be available thereafter in the User Defined category.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What you didn't know about iodine, but could save your life - Duration: 18:03.

What you didn't know about iodine but could save your life

Disclaimer: The information contained in this video

is for informational and educational purpose only.

it is not intended to be used as medical advice.

The treatments described in this video should only be

undertaken after careful study of the

relevant facts and after consultation

with your primary health care provider.

Proper laboratory and clinical

monitoring is essential for a safe and

beneficial treatment.

Of all the elements known so far to be essential for human health,

iodine is easily the most misunderstood and the most feared.

Yet iodine is the safest of all the

essential trace elements. It is the only

one that can be administered safely for

long periods of time in high doses, as long

as one understands the basics of this

treatment and knows how to adapt the

dose to his or her needs.

Every individual is unique - so everyone will

have different requirements in regards

to iodine or co-factors.

But how much iodine do we really need? And is it

necessary to supplement this trace

element at all, given the fact, that for

the past few decades our table salt has

been enriched with iodine?

Let's examine the facts! For over 100 years

iodine has been known as a necessary

element for the production of thyroid hormone.

However, iodine is needed in

every single of the trillions of cells

in our body - a fact rarely mentioned in

the medical literature. Iodine is

necessary in the production of other

hormones in the body for a functioning immune system

and has been shown to be a potent antibacterial,

antiparasitic, antiviral and anticancer agent,

with no signs of resistance ever observed.

Without iodine, no life is possible!

Iodine deficiency

can result in mental retardation, goiter

increased child and infant mortality and

infertility. The WHO estimates, that one

third of the world population lives in

areas of iodine deficiency. Iodine can be

found in seawater, in solid rock that

forms when seawater evaporates and in

sea organisms, like seaweed, scallops

oysters, ocean fish etc. If the soil has

an adequate supply of iodine, crops grown

on it and animals fed by it will contain

adequate iodine levels. But unfortunately,

this is not the case in most areas of

the world anymore. Iodine deficiency is pandemic.

It is estimated that nearly

three quarters of the world population

is affected by an iodine deficiency disorder.

Some may think that we should

get enough of this valuable trace

element given the fact that table salt

has been iodized since the 1920s.

Unfortunately the concentration of

iodine and salt is way too low, even

though the RDA - the Recommended Dietary Allowance -

can be met with table salt alone.

The problem is, that the RDA was

only set up to prevent goiter, which it

does very well. But the rest of the

bodily functions will still be severely

iodine deficient. Another problem is, that

iodine from salt only has a

bioavailability of around 10%,

and is only potassium iodide.

On top of that iodide is mostly added to

refined salt - and refined salt as a

processed food, whose minerals and trace

elements have been removed and which has

been subjected to toxic chemicals to

give it its white color and to prevent

clumping. Refined salt can lead to many

health problems and needs to be avoided.

Unrefined salt - grey salt - should be the

salt of choice. Others may think that

they can increase iodine intake by

increasing their consumption of marine

organisms. Unfortunately, due to often

severe contamination of the marine food

chain, this solution is often

counterproductive - while iodine

deficiency might somewhat be corrected,

further toxins, like heavy metals and

pesticides, are introduced into the body.

Why then are we deficient in iodine?

One of the reasons is the already mentioned

poor availability of iodine in table salt,

as well as a declining salt intake by

the population due to health concerns,

which for unrefined salt are entirely

misguided. Another reason is that poor

farming techniques have led to

widespread deficiencies in soil

minerals, amongst others of iodine.

Exposure to many chemicals that inhibit

iodine binding in the body further

worsens the problem. However the most

significant change in iodine status of

recent times occurred with a change in

the food industry. In the 1960s iodine

was added to flour as a dough

conditioner. But ten years later iodine

was replaced by bromine.

Bromine is another halide also called halogen as

our iodine fluoride chloride and asked

the team this is the periodic table of

elements with the group of K lies all

halides compete with one another for

absorption and receptor binding in the

body

since iodine and bromine compete with

one another for absorption and receptor

binding the body can only eliminate

bromine if there is sufficient iodine

available if there are a lot of halides

competing for the receptor the surplus

of iodine has to be provided to the body

to displace bromine from the receptors

bromine is a toxic substance that has no

use in our body and binds to iodine

receptors in the breast and is a known

carcinogen in contrast iodine is known

for its anti-cancer properties replacing

iodine with bromine and flour made a bad

situation worse iodine deficiency has

accelerated and it is now being

competitively inhibited from binding to

its own receptors unfortunately bromine

cannot only be found in flour but is

used everywhere and industrially

produced goods as flame retardant it can

be found in textiles carpets mattresses

cars electronics and has also found in

pesticides the list goes on and on so

not only is our intake of iodine

inadequate but on top of that our body

is poisoned by bromine and other halides

like fluoride in drinking water or

perchlorate through which compounds the

problem today a hundred percent of the

population that is tested for bromine

levels tests positive and the high range

generally speaking there are two

different forms of iodine iodine and

elemental iodine elemental iodine is not

very soluble in water but a french

physician by the name of zhang legal

found in 1829 that potassium iodide

added to water increase the solubility

of iodine you started to treat his

patients with lugol's solution five

percent which holds his name to this day

today we know that different tissues

respond differently to the two forms of

iodine the thyroid gland for instance

primarily utilizes iodide while breast

tissue prefers iodine

the anti-cancer effect of iodine is

mostly based on the iodine form whereas

the iodide form the one available in

table salt is much less effective this

means that iodine sufficiency is best

achieved when we use both iodine and

iodide as can be found in lugol's

solution what does iodine exactly do in

our cells iodide is transported into the

cells via a transport molecule called

the sodium iodide symporter or n is

after it enters the cell iodide

undergoes two important processes

oxidation and Organa fication oxidation

occurs through the interaction of

hydrogen peroxide h2o2 with thyroid

peroxidase or TPO and effectively

transforms iodide to iodine this step is

very important for the body's ability to

utilize iodide if the production of

hydrogen peroxide used for the oxidation

of the iodide is not tightly controlled

it can lead to damage of the thyroid

tissue into the possibility of forming

antibodies against thyroid peroxidase

the condition called Hashimoto's disease

the most prevalent form of

hyperthyroidism or low thyroid function

one element crucial in this process is

selenium another trace element most of

us are deficient in the next step in the

utilization of iodine is called Organa

fication which means that iodine becomes

part of cholesterol fats and proteins

while the RDA of iodine is sufficient to

produce enough thyroid hormones it takes

about a hundred times the RDA to produce

proteins like Delta aya de Lac town a

key regulator of programmed cell death

called apoptosis and cellular growth

both implicated in the formation of

cancer for over 60 years it has been

known that iodine concentrates in and is

secreted by the mammary

and the breasts are one of the main

storage sites for iodine and is

necessary for the development and

maintenance of normal breast tissue

several investigators have posited that

iodine deficiency is a causative factor

in breast cancer and fibrocystic breast

disease some studies have shown that

iodine has the ability to block the

progression of cancer in the breast

tissue some countries such as Poland

Switzerland and Russia have been found

to have high rates of breast cancer

associated with localized pockets of

iodine deficiency the Japanese

population which consumes a large amount

of iodine by RDA standards have

remarkably lower levels of breast

endometrial and ovarian cancer item was

also found to have suppressive effects

under development and size of mammary

tumors and rats it also is important to

ensure adequate iodine levels and young

women before they become pregnant

because the normal development of the

fetus requires adequate amounts of

iodine in utero deficiency has been

associated with a range of problems in

children including ADHD lowered IQ

depression or height and bone maturation

and decreased neonatal survival rates so

how much iodine do we have to provide to

our bodies every day for its optimal

health clearly the RDA and even

multiples of that seem dreadfully

inadequate one of the world's leading

iodine researchers the late dr. guy

Abraham has shown that the required

daily intake of iodine necessary for

maintaining adequate iodine levels is at

least 13 milligrams the equivalent of

slightly less than a hundred times the

RDA if you have a massive halite

toxicity problem or if you're suffering

from chronic disease like cancer thyroid

problems autoimmune disease or chronic

infections like Lyme disease you might

need substantially more than that

the following protocol is a suggestion

on how to ingest iodine and cofactors

which will help control symptoms of

bromine toxicity once you start to

dislodge that from the receptors a

crucial first step is adequate hydration

make sure to drink non fluoridated water

either by using a distiller or by

reverse osmosis first thing in the

morning we recommend to drink a glass of

warm water with approximately half a

teaspoon of unrefined salt to help the

body get rid of hey lights with your

breakfast take one drop of 5% lugal

diluted in water you might want to add a

few drops of apple cider vinegar to

increase the taste the dose of lugol's

can slowly be increased over the next

few weeks to reach anything between four

to eight drops per day as a rule

overweight people require more iodine

one drop of 5% lugol's is the equivalent

of six point 25 milligrams of iodine if

you struggle to ingest lugol's solution

diluted in water an alternative are

tablets called iodoral which come in

12.5 milligram strength the downside is

that they are rather expensive if you

increase the dose too fast you might

experience signs of bromide toxicity

such as T muscle aches runny nose fever

diarrhea and brain fog among others if

that happens simply skip the iodine for

two days and resume in gesture at a

lower dose you will have to titrate the

dose to the requirements of your body if

you skip the iodine be sure to continue

all the other measures to help you

toxify your body with the iodine take

selenium do not exceed 200 micrograms

per day if you suffer from chronic

medical problems it is advisable to take

other cofactors to aid the body coping

with the stress of detoxification 100

milligrams of vitamin B

you and 500 milligrams of vitamin b3 can

make a world of difference in such

situations vitamin C is another valuable

cofactor but it should not be ingested

at the same time as iodine as the two

partially neutralized each other wait

for two hours after ingestion of the

iodine before taking vitamin C in

general a dose of 2 to 4 grams per day

seems adequate in the evening or late

afternoon have another glass of warm

salty water to aid detoxification and

you might want to take some magnesium

before going to bed preferably some key

lated form like magnesium glycinate or

magnesium malate many concerns have been

voiced chiefly among the medical

establishment about the safety of iodine

or the lack of it one of the concerns

heard most often is that high doses of

iodine might induce hypothyroidism the

low functioning of the thyroid gland dr.

Brownstein a leading authority on iodine

and author of the seminal book iodine

why you need it why you can't live

without it has treated thousands of

patients with iodine and this problem

has been very prayer true initially the

thyroid tests TSH will rise which might

lead a doctor to suspect low thyroid

function but in the presence of normal

thyroid hormone levels t3 and t4 this is

not the case it also is a transient

phenomenon after six months of iodine

supplementation the levels tend to

return back to normal in fact

hypothyroidism is associated with low

iodine levels which will get better once

iodine stores are replenished another

concern is the exact opposite the

induction of high thyroid function or

hyperthyroidism again this is even rarer

and only happens in a so-called

autonomous nodule or toxic goiter

thankfully a very rare disorder giving a

high dose of iodine is actually a method

to die

knows a toxic nodule which needs to be

removed surgically another concern is

allergy to inorganic iodine / iodide

which again is exceedingly rare most

so-called iodine allergies are allergies

to certain components of iodine dye used

in medical imaging and usually don't

cross-react with inorganic iodine do

children need iodine as well the short

answer is yes for children to have

adequate iodine levels is even more

important especially in regard to brain

development however their dose needs to

be adjusted to their age and weight in

any case before you embark on this epic

journey be sure to inform yourself this

is a treatment adequate for you I cannot

emphasize enough dr. Bronstein's book

mentioned before which addresses all

aspects of this wonderful and cheap

treatment it would be ideal if you were

able to find an iodine knowledgeable

health care provider in the region where

you live so that he can monitor and

assist you and finding the right dose

and ward off unpleasant symptoms once

you start using lugal solution you will

be amazed at the effects it will have on

your body and your mind it might take a

bit of fine-tuning but it's well worth

the effort

Conversations with John Sherman - Episode 17 - Duration: 41:27.

I'm wanting to be finished with dealing with

anything other than the need for us to...

All of us: you folks, everybody who is going to hear this webinar in the future, all of us.

We really need to...

get clear and active in what we have found here.

All of us: you, and me, and Carla,

and everybody who has ever been to our website,

anybody who's listening to this...

One of the most important things to understand about our work is its simplicity.

It really is simple.

We claim no non-human states and interventions.

It will not make your experience of life free of pain and confusion.

It will make your life much more open than it has been in the past.

Open to you.

Your life, your mind, your understanding of things, and so forth,

your mind, mostly, is much simpler than we imagine it to be.

And we have confounded it with complexity

in order to serve our need to think that we are so important

as individual human beings that we are...

The rest of the world can go to hell, as long as I am okay.

As long as I have what I need.

As long as I'm, you know, satisfied,

and not crazy, and not hating myself or anybody else.

And, of course, that's mostly, for most of us,

and it certainly is the case for my life too,

it's certainly the case that all of us who,

and when I say all of us, I mean pretty much every single individual human being on the planet.

Not literally everyone, but close enough.

It's not surprising that we would seek something

complicated, and superstitious, and non-human, and magical,

because it seems to us that

our misery with our own mind is so great,

and so impossible to do anything about,

that it's going to take something really big and...

explosive

in order for me to get finished with the idea

that there are so many things wrong with my life

that it ruins my experience of being a human being.

That's what we accomplish. We bring an end to the idea

that it's impossible, or difficult, for you, and me, and everybody else

to become human beings that are more or less satisfied with their lives.

It's not that life free of the fear is free of pain, or confusion, or anything of the kind,

but what it is free of is fear.

And when the fear is gone, the mind becomes much quieter,

much less full of things.

Thoughts become like a gentle rain rather than a thunderstorm.

So...

We found this. This really is the case.

We have found the cure for all mental misery in human life

and that's accomplished by a simple movement of attention

looking for the feel of you at the floor of your mind.

That's all it takes.

And it's that simple.

Now, what follows upon that...

I'm starting from the beginning because I want to bring into this context.

So that once that act of looking at yourself is accomplished,

the whole apparatus that...

Well, not the whole apparatus, but the cause of the whole apparatus

of misery, and suffering, and wanting, and not getting,

and wishing, and hoping, and all of that stuff...

The foundation of that is gone. It's just gone.

The thought forms and the habits of relationship,

habits of relationship with what happens within my own mind,

those will stay as they were when the fear was cured.

Until they don't.

But they're on their way out. They cannot survive.

And pretty quickly after having done the looking,

and by 'pretty quickly' I'm speaking of weeks maybe...

Weeks or months.

Pretty quickly after doing the looking, the first actual indication

that something has really changed...

I mean, when you first do the looking, you get a real kind of nice feeling,

and sweetness, and so forth and so on.

But then, after that, comes a kind of a thunderstorm of misery,

heartache, misunderstanding, confusion,

as if the mind now is no longer under any control.

It has just gone crazy all by itself.

And, to a certain extent, that's true.

Once you have done that act of looking,

the foundation of the misery,

the human misery, its foundation is gone,

but its foot soldiers are still there.

Its foot soldiers are the thought forms, the habits of thought,

the habits of relationship, the desires and aversions that have been

fed in the in the days of the fear.

They take time before they go away.

The cure is simple.

It's absolutely simple.

But it only has one effect, and that effect is to wash away

the underlying fear of life itself,

which is the sole cause of the mental misery

that drives us to desperation and denial,

and all the other crazy things that we do.

But those habits of thought that the mind has fallen in love with,

the habits of thought that are based on the assumption

that there is something wrong here,

that the most important thing for you to understand

is that there's something wrong here,

and for you find some way, by hook or by crook, to make it go away.

So that all of those attitudes and all of those habits of thought

remain as they were until they go away.

That's just what it is.

And that can take some time.

But the time is well spent if you realize

that the most important thing to do after the act of looking...

And once the act of looking is done, it really is of no consequence anymore.

I mean, people do look there and, you know, it's okay,

but after a while, it just doesn't call your attention,

because the actual feel of you is really not very interesting.

It's just you. Just simple you. Not all the...

misery and magic that accompanies the human mind.

So it only has that one effect.

The rest of it is for you to decide

what is going to happen after that one effect is in place.

And it's in place immediately.

It may take you some time to see that,

but once you see that something has happened, that something has changed in you,

then the only thing that you should do, I mean really...

You need to brush your teeth, and feed yourself, and so forth,

but the main thing that you want to do once you have done that act of looking,

the main thing you want to do

is to gain actual, intelligent control over your attention.

And the reason... I know I'm a broken record...

But the reason that this is so critically important is because

your attention, first of all, is the only thing you have anything to say about.

And for most of us, for most of our lives, we seem to have nothing to say about it,

because it doesn't occur to us that we can choose what we attend to.

Our attention is hijacked by bright shiny objects,

ugly objects, fearfulness, and all the other stuff.

So...

And that's the reason, by the way, that people who have have found some solution

to the underlying sense of humanity being just crazy,

and nothing to be done about it is that

once that act of looking is done,

the natural assumption is that, That's it. That's all I have to do.

I've taken the medicine, I can see that the medicine is working

from what John has told me to expect, and so forth...

And that's it.

And then what happens pretty quickly after that

is a period of real enhanced, and much worse, misery

than you had before you did the looking.

And that is, again, broken record again, that is because the habits of thought,

the habits of relationship with the people you know,

the habits of relationship with yourself,

the habits of relationship with your mind

are still just as they always were when they were born in the fear.

They don't go away, they don't get magically fixed, and so forth and so on...

It takes time for them to starve themselves out of your mind.

And that's a waste of time.

And that's a waste of your intelligence and a waste of your capacity

to be self-reliant in your management of your own mind within your own life.

So that's the main thing that you have to do.

And that's the main thing I ever want to talk to anybody about,

at least in the beginning.

But times have changed.

Times change.

And the times that we are living in right now are actually...

seriously dangerous to the future of human beings at all.

We're living in really, really tough times.

Scary times.

Times in which it seems like everything is kind of...

All the understandings, and agreements, and all of that stuff

that human beings have with one another,

it seems that we're in a time when they are just falling apart and disintegrating.

Now, this happens cyclically with human beings.

This is something that I've spent some time looking into,

and it seems that something on the order of every hundred years,

which is five generations,

something on the order of every hundred years,

the ways in which we have found to be ourselves and human in the world,

without too much misery... I mean, you know, there's the mental misery,

but without too much physical and worldly misery,

we get used to that.

But every hundred years or so, everything goes upside down.

It's not literally a hundred years, although in this case, it seems to be pretty much

literally a hundred years since the last time.

Since the last time the world went crazy.

Since the last time, or the beginning of the last time the world went crazy.

But now... And I have to say that, if you look back over history,

you will see that these crises change as time goes on,

and they become more murderous and terrible,

as we get better at creating ways to maim, and murder, and kill each other.

And it seems, frankly, now,

and I don't want to be, you know, some idiot that cries, "The sky is falling!"

But it really does seem as if the sky is falling on us now.

The understandings and agreements that had held us together,

both within our own lives, and our own families,

our own cities, and countries,

that they are flying apart.

The assumptions that we have taken for granted over these last hundred years

are falling apart.

And I have to tell you that I am really interested in the human world.

I find it to be a very interesting thing to think about.

And I read the New York Times very day.

I don't read everything in it, but I read the New York Times every day,

because I am deeply interested in understanding what is unfolding here for us,

in this world now, with drones, and civil wars, and...

You know, there's no way... I could try to make a listing

of all the things that are going on in the world today

that, say, 50 years ago would be unbelievable

what's happening here.

In all of our countries, in every country.

So, as I am here speaking to you now,

I am speaking to you in the hope that you can see

what it is that I am trying to say about the situation we find ourselves in,

and the situation we find ourselves in

begins with the situation we find our own minds to be in.

That's where it begins, the situation we find ourselves in.

And I assume that since you are here with me in this meeting,

that in all likelihood you are working to understand

and take intelligent control over your experience of your own mind,

and about the way in which your mind works.

I'm certain that that must be the case.

But if you look further outward from your own misery,

and even if what you're...

Well, if you look outward from your own misery,

you will see that the world that we live in now, this world...

I'm 74 years old, and I have been through a lot of stuff, as you probably know ,

but the world we live in now is crazy in a way that I don't think has ever been the case before.

And it's not because we are crazier than we have ever been before.

It's because we have much more power to destroy ourselves than we've had in the past.

We have that power for, you know, like fifty years, really,

but that, linked with the arising of more and more throwing off of

normal standards of communication, and working with one another, and so forth,

Those things are going away.

The way in which nations manage to keep themselves from killing each other,

those restraints are going away.

The restraints that hold democracies together are going away.

The restraints that hold...

worldwide capitalism...

The restraints that have made worldwide capitalism so huge a thing...

It's all there is, really...

And the constraints that have held that are going away.

They're disappearing.

People are going crazier than I have ever seen

in the 74 years that I've been on this planet.

And that's just the case.

And I feel... I have to say that I feel like we are in a race.

Us: me, you, Carla, roed, everybody.

We're in a race to find a way to get this solution to enough human beings

to bring a breath of fresh air in the human community as a whole.

So what I am speaking to you now, and when I speak to anybody now,

I am speaking from a sense of...

Kind of emergency.

We have got to we have got to find a way to bring sanity

to enough of the human family

to dampen down this rush to Armageddon, I think.

We seem almost to be on the brink of extinction.

I make statements like that because that's what I absolutely see to be the case.

I know why it is that way.

I know what the cause is.

And I know what the cure is.

But what I don't have is the means to bring this to enough human beings

to save us all.

The good, the bad, the ugly...

To save us all.

So that to me, the work of understanding the looking,

the work of understanding the importance of self-directed attention,

the work of doing all of that has taken on a much more...

Urgent...

An urgency in me that I had not felt before.

We've been around for a while.

From what I understand, the earliest evidence seems to suggest that

Homo sapiens, or Homo Sapiens humans,

appeared about 160,000 years ago in Ethiopia.

Well, that's 160,000 years that are about to go down the toilet

if we don't do something now.

And the root cause, again, is not wars and rumors of war.

Those have been our constant companions from the moment we completed

our evolutionary journey to become human.

It's not greed that's working to destroy the climate.

It's not any of that.

It is fear. It is only fear.

And we have the solution to that.

And I am going to beg you to do whatever you can to help us

bring this solution to enough people to see if we can stop this this rush to extinction.

And the interesting thing is that we think ourselves to be special

and it seems to me that...

It seems to me that our specialness is not to be found

in our intelligence and craftiness,

but in our interest in rape, murder, and war.

You know, we're almost certainly the only species on earth

that lives its life in fear and yearning for relief from fear.

Now, to fully understand the truth of what I'm saying, you have to be free of that fear.

You have to have begun the practice of self-directed attention,

because that's the only thing that gives you the means to determine

which thought-forms are useful and which are mere vestiges of the disease.

So, we're in a situation where, you know, we're really on the edge

of terrible things.

I am not going to predict extinction, but terrible things.

We could extinguish ourselves.

That is certainly easy, especially given what we're doing to the climate.

So, everything that...

My sole focus and purpose now is to find the people,

the skill sets, and the money to bring this thing to the world,

which so desperately needs it.

Now, regarding bringing it to the world, there are basically two ways

in which that happens.

One way is with those of you who have have found the...

Who understand and accept the fact that this is exactly what I say it is.

Those of you who see that probably have already been talking

to your family, your friends, and trying to get the word out as much as you can,

within the limitations that you have

of the number of people you can reach.

And that has to happen.

The folks that adopt this practice because they have been asked to do so

by people they know and trust, those folks will easily go through recovery,

will easily come to see the nature of things.

But...

You know, we, Carla and I...

anybody that will listen to me, I have one story to tell,

and I tell it to them every chance I get.

As does Carla.

So we have two possible ways of accomplishing what we're trying to accomplish.

And they both need to be working together.

Those of you who have friends and family, and so forth and so on,

who are open enough to hear what you have to say,

and maybe even try to say it,

do it.

Please do talk to them.

They will be fine.

They'll turn out fine, just from hearing from you.

They'll turn out fine.

So that's...

Word of mouth is the first way.

Through friends, family, acquaintances, by putting signs on buses or whatever...

That's word of mouth, and I'm really happy to say that

that is increasing all the time.

We have understandings that that is increasing all the time.

And people are coming forward who have heard of this work

from people that...

From people that heard of it from us.

The other thing, and this is the thing that we really...

I mean, everybody that gets sane, everybody who gets over the sickness,

the more people that get over the sickness, the better we all are.

But the way to reach enough to bring an end to this

before this last crisis turns us over

is through mass means.

Through mass media.

Through ways in which the simple suggestion is brought to large numbers of people

in the way that these things happen,

through newspapers, magazines, TV ads, interviews...

We have a lot of things that we want to do,

and the only...

I can't say this enough and it really hurts me to say it.

But the most useful and important thing of all,

not in the long run, but in the short run,

is for us to get solvent so that we don't have to spend...

I usually spend, I'd say, a good 30 hours a week

manipulating what little amount of money we have

so as to keep the bills paid.

That has to stop.

That has to go away.

I have to do things other than that.

The last thing I want to bring to you is a posting from our forum

that came in the other day.

And I think you ought to be able to hear this because it's really quite encouraging.

It was encouraging to us.

This is a forum posting.

"A considerable portion of what goes on in my head these days

"is about the looking and specifically how to spread it.

"Many ideas pop up.

"Some are good, while others, well, need development

"I have seen all types come and go.

"From creating a fear-free destination hostel,

"to acquiring the rainbow body,

"and to try to get the RiverGanga Foundation awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Thoughts I put my attention on grow and develop."

Hear that. Let me restate that.

"Thoughts I put my attention on grow and develop.

"Sometimes they turn into actions but, for the most part,

"they keep evolving into finer and more delicate forms,

"like how a potted flower will bloom if cared for.

"Others have a run until they, sooner or later, meet their fate,

"and are debunked as non-viable or uninteresting for whatever reason,

"in which case they normally dissipate quickly.

"All this happens seemingly on its own,

"only with attention as a rudder."

What a good way to say it.

"But how this works is old news.

"The news for me is the importance of community."

And that, by the way, is for me too.

The importance of community.

That's you. Community. It's you. All you folks.

And hopefully many more.

Back to the posting.

"What has recently caught my eye is that when we commune with one another,

"and use our collective attention,

"we can drive these developments in a much quicker rate than if we're alone.

"We feed off of each other's creativity and expressions.

"And it seems the mere presence of others

"will inspire, energize, and accelerate a process greatly.

"And according to what I observed, combining our beams of attention

"becomes extraordinarily powerful when the group members are not distracted

"by a context of fear.

"All that is done within Just One Look is, in truth, a collective achievement.

"All that is done within Just One Look is, in truth, a collective achievement."

You must see that to be true. This is me speaking...

You must see that to be true.

It's not Carla and I.

Back to the forum posting.

"I set a personal goal of sharing the looking with one person per day.

"And even though I can't always meet that goal,

"the results of the effort and attention put into it

"are, unlike most dreams, totally real.

"And if it wasn't for all the people in the forums,

"The Natural State Blog, the meetings, and all the rest,

"all which come from our common efforts,

"I would never have had the courage or inspiration to work in such a way.

"As the mind dreams of a great future upheaval,

"making strategies good and bad,

"what is happening here on the ground is that, person by person,

"the human creature writ large is getting better by the day.

"All thanks to grassroots.

"At heart, this insight implies that simply paying attention

"to the components which make up our community

"can, and will, accelerate this movement further.

"And that we don't need to know exactly how it will unfold,

"but only to trust our presence here.

"That's all that counts.

"And if what I've seen about communal effort is true,

"then we can collaborate by bearing will and attention.

"And that all forms of participation will help and grow the collective intelligence.

"Not a huge amount of effort is needed from each one of us

"to energize Just One Look so it can grow and flourish even more.

"It is my feeling that whatever comes out of it

"will be exemplary of all that is good, right, and beautiful in this world.

"This is the greatest and most valiant attempt for lasting peace

"that probably was ever attempted.

"So join in.

"We'll cross our streams of attention,

"kind of like they did in those 80's movies,

"while busting the worst kind of ghosts.

"And maybe we have a chance to bust the real ghost,

"the fear of life, once and for all."

Thank you, roed, that's beautiful.

About the title...

The title is: Let's Not throw Away Our Shot!

About title...

Carla and I...

I guess last week, or the week before, Carla and I had the great good luck

to watch a filming of the entire production of Hamilton with the original cast.

It had been filmed during a live performance by someone who had the knack for filming such things.

He had sent a message to the author asking for forgiveness,

and begged that his recording be left alone for a while to give others a chance to see it.

It remained up for an entire day.

And it was beautiful.

And the signature of the whole thing,

the mark of the whole thing

is a song which says, again and again,

Let's not throw away our shot!

And this is our shot.

All of us here today,

all humans everywhere, this is our shot.

So let's get serious about it.

Let's not dwell on the way in which our particular minds

have become clear, and clean, and my life is better than it was, and so forth.

It means nothing if we go extinct.

All that we've done to find a life that is satisfying and free of fear

is for nothing if it all goes away.

I've never been much of a doomsayer but, really, this is our last shot.

I truly believe that.

This is our last shot.

So let's not throw it away.

My hats off to you.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for everything you do.

Stick with us. This is real.
