Roland Brodkorb 6.Dan, is a Kickboxing Trainer Legend in Germany.
I had the opportunity to interview him, after a training in his club in Erlangen in North-Bavaria.
For 48 years he has been active without interruption, without a break
He is running one of the most renowned martial arts schools in Germany for more than 40 years
I have had a respectful and friendly relationship with him for decades now
One knows and appreciates the work and character of the other martial arts master
The 64 year old club- and former country coach
led many of his pupils to German-, Europe- and Worldchampionship titles
In light contact kickboxing and pointfighting
Even Roland achieved the title of European champion
In the interview he tells amongst other things the story of kickboxing "All-Style-Karate"

What is the secret of your success?
Yes, as I said, the continuity
And from the beginning I was in the scene and got to know good people
And by the good people I learned a lot
And that has proved itself and was talked about
And then other guests came to me
And good people from far away
And then my students also learned something to train with good people
and so has built up
And if you are always with good people together, it will always be better!
thats the secret!
I have met many good people from many martial sports systems
I've been training with everyone
Learned something from everyone
My own style developed with the time
And since I had the first world champion in 1986
And today i have still world champions in my teaching lessons
Which means I am half way at the right away so it seems, much we do not wrong!
Because otherwise the success would not have been so long with us!

I have done the real beginnings in germany
The whole comes from america
Which have been the contest question what is better karate, taekwondo or kungfu?
Then they have developed a set of rules where all have the same chances
And with the protective equipment of Jhon Rhee
And they fought with the protective equipment
And this was brought first Georg Brückner to bring to Germany
And he was also the first president in Germany and in Europe
And I have often trained with him in the beginning
and i learned a lot from him
and the first tournaments were the Leemens, Baden and Brückner
They made the kickboxen popular in germany
and i received for example the 3.Dan degree direct from Georg Brückner
It has not been so many given so a high dan degree get from him
Because shortly afterwards he died!
Georg Brückner has also developed the TOP TEN protective equipment which is still one of the best today
And at that time boxing from the Olympic Games would have kicked out
But with the TOP TEN protective equipment, with the hand and head protectors the boxing could remain in the olympic games!
Then we got in kickboxen almost a year no more equipment!
Because almost everything was produced exclusively for the boxers!
