Waching daily May 1 2017

Hello and welcome to the April 2017 news review!

My name is Gwyn…

And I'm Ceci!

We started April with an exciting broom update!

It is now possible to level up your broom and earn real broom skill!

As you level up your broom more, it will kick you off less and you'll be able to control

your broom more easily.

The Devs also added a system where the higher year you are, the more brooms you have access

to, meaning you can't just jump to the best broom while you're still a first year and

skip all the others. Thanks to our Developers for this long awaited update!

We also had a snazzy housing update from our developers!

Many commands were fixed, as well as enabling broom flying on housing.

Long-awaited updates like a fix to the housing pvp command were made public at this time.

Alongside this update, Housing sceneries were introduced!

Sceneries like the Greenhouse, Savannah and Survival Capital themes were all released

as well as many more!

Some sceneries are available through the online store, some through the voting shop, and the

last ones through the gold shop at Ernie's Estates.

We hope you all enjoy these sceneries as much we we do!

Now it's time for Name that Staff member!

Do you know who this is?

Any guesses on who it could be?

Hey Gwyn, have you seen the flower crowns?

They're so cute!

I did!

In April we got some amazing new hats and one spectacular new pet!

Available now on the store is a phoenix pet, and seven different flower crowns.

Want all of the flower crowns?

You can get them all together for $19.99!

In addition, there are three more flower crowns that you can get from the voting token shop,

located near the great hall courtyard.

Next, let's head to Dannyel for a sports update!

The Arena Masters held a fast-paced dueling tournament this month.

After a long battle, the Griffins won the finals!

Congratulations to roetegah, dragonblitz527, and TerrsShadow on leading the Griffins to

a strong victory!

There was also a new flying tournament introduced this month.

It was a long and hard course, but in the end Griffins won!

Congratulations to TerrsShadow, Dwebbles and Dragonblitz527 on winning our first flying tournament!

How will our next dueling and flying competitions go?

We'll see in May, but for now, back to Gwyn and Ceci!

Thanks for the update Dannyel!

Now I hear that we're receiving some more breaking news from Scharf!

Let's hear what they have to update us on!

Thank you!

We have some breaking news.

We've already met Kyla Leveski and Zirxas Escurum, but now we've received information

on our newest member, Mason Glaviar!

He was a Dark Follower in disguise but then betrayed them for the Department of Magical

Law Enforcement and the Aurorlocks!

We've learned about his allegiance, but what will he do and how will his story connect

with our other two characters?

Make sure to stay tuned!

Now, back to you two in the studio!

Thanks, Scharf!

Ceci, did you get to explore the spring festival?

Yeah, it was super fun!

Over Easter, the server held an event where you could hop around the rabbit tunnels in

search for spring tokens and trade them for various items, such as scarves, hats and banners.

There was also a hidden bonus bunny!

Did any of you manage to find it?

Thank you to the wonderful event staff and builders for putting this fabulous event on!

It was enjoyed by all!

Now it's time to name that staff member!

Were you able to guess who it was?

The staff member was Amabilia!

As the month came to a close, the Headmaster announced some very exciting updates.

Care to explain, Gwyn?

Certainly!

We've changed all spell names to our own, original titles.

No effects were edited, however, so no gameplay was changed!

This month, we also added an inflation to our Academic and Test Credit values.

The values of each AC and TC were multiplied by 10, so if you had 3 AC before the update,

you'll now have 30.

This is helpful to our professors and our players as we can now give out more specific

amounts of Academic Credits along with making room for future quests!

Along with future quests, we are also excited for the third anniversary of our server which

is coming up in May!

We've celebrated in the past with amazing parties, I wonder what the event staff will

have planned for us this year?

In a galaxy far, far away… wizards battled with laser guns and spaceships!

The most exciting event of May is coming, and we're not talking about the anniversary!

Get ready for a nerdy holiday.

Onto our Trivia Question of the Month!

Last month the trivia question was, 'what month and year was the first Daily Diviner

article published?'

It was September of 2016!

Did you get it right?

This month's trivia question is, 'Which one of the following emote packs was first released?'

Was it a. Halloween Emote Pack

b. Valentine's Emote Pack

c. Party Emote Pack

d. Sassy Emote Pack

You can find out the answer in next month's

episode of WizNews.

That's all for the April 2017 review!

Thank you all for watching, and make sure to tune in next month!

I'm Gwyn… and I'm Ceci!

See you all next episode!

AE 266 - Expression: To Scrape (The Bottom Of) The Barrel | Learn Australian English - Duration: 18:04.

G'day guys.

Welcome to this episode of Aussie English.

It's Easter so happy Easter to everyone and anyone who's celebrating this holiday.

And to everyone who isn't, well, I hope you have a good long weekend anyway, especially

if you are in Australia.

You get four days off.

We get Friday, the weekend, and then Monday off.

So I'm not particularly religious.

I'm not Christian.

We still sort of have this cultural celebration as Australians.

So, Australians aren't overly Christian.

I think there is a higher percentage of Christians than say Muslims or Buddhists or Hindus here

in Australia, and a lot of Caucasian Australians will be Christian as opposed to any other

religion.

But it's not a very overbearing part of our society or our culture say compared to America.

So, Easter for me, at least, is just a time that I see my family.

I do have Christian members of the family.

So, they often like getting together and just celebrating the religious side of the holiday.

But for me and my family, my direct family, my parents and my sister, we love just getting

together with them and with other members of the family and our close friends and just

hanging out, spending time together, seeing each other, probably eating a little too much

chocolate, and a little too many hot cross buns.

So, that's part of Easter as well.

For some reason, I don't know where it came from, I should probably look it up, but the

Easter Bunny is this aspect of our Western Culture with Easter where we get all of these

chocolate Easter Bunnies and Easter eggs.

Go figure.

Why would a bunny or a rabbit lay an egg?

Who knows?

But that's part of our culture.

We get a lot of chocolate.

We share the chocolate.

We give it to each other as presents.

I used to get it from my parents.

I think it was on the Saturday.

We'd wake up and have, like, a little basket with chocolate in it, my sister and I.

But for me, I'm much more addicted to the hot cross buns.

Those things are amazing, amazing, amazing.

So for anyone here in Australia, go to Baker's Delight or Brumby's, you know, your local

bakery, and definitely buy some hot cross buns over Easter.

Put them in the oven for about 12 minutes.

You know, get them warm and crispy, and then put butter inside of them, and they're amazing.

And for those of you who don't know what hot cross buns is, it's a small loaf of bread

that's sweet and it has berries and other things in it.

You can get chocolate-chip hot cross buns now.

But they're absolutely amazing you heat them up and you put a bit of butter in them.

And they're...

I guess they're kind of like scones, if you know what a scone is.

But, yeah, check them out.

They're amazing.

Anyway, Happy Easter.

That's the intro for today.

Let's get into the expression for the day, which is "to scrape the barrel" or "to scrape

the bottom of the barrel".

So this one comes from Chris, who suggested this in the Aussie English virtual Classroom.

He was talking about the expressions that he wanted to work on, and I said, "This is

a good one.

Let's do it!".

So, as usual let's define the different words in the expression itself.

So, "to scrape" means to drag or pull a hard or sharp implement across a surface or an

object to remove dirt or matter, and it can also be to rub or cause to rub by accident

on a rough surface causing injury.

So, if I scrape my leg on the concrete or on the ground it means that I've caused like

a scratch on my leg.

I've scraped it.

I've pulled it across the ground and scratched it, scraped up.

So that's "to scrape", to drag across a surface, pretty much.

"Bottom".

Obviously we all know that "bottom" is the opposite of the top of something.

So, the bottom of something is the thing right at the base.

So, for instance, if we dive into a pool of water, and we get to the bottom of the pool,

we're on the very very base surface of the pool.

Whereas, if we come up and we put our head above the water we're on the top of the pool

or at the top of the pool.

So, bottom, top.

If you enter a building you're at the bottom of the building.

If you climb all the way up the building you're at the top of the building.

So the bottom floor, the top floor, the bottom, the top.

"A barrel".

So, "a barrel" is a cylindrical container that sort of bulges out in the middle.

So, it's not a straight cylinder, but it curves and is a wider, it's wider in the middle.

So, the top of the barrel is narrow, and the bottom of the barrel is narrow, but the middle

of the barrel is wide.

So, it's traditionally made from wood or what are called "wooden staves", and it has metal

hoops around the wood.

So, metal rings that go around it to hold them all in place.

And so, this can be used to store different things.

You might have wine that's left in a barrel to mature.

So, often you'll see wine in old wooden oak barrels, I think.

You might have gunpowder left in a barrel.

You could have say fish and other kinds of foods kept in a barrel.

They could be kept there to ripen or to be stored for a very long time.

So, that's "a barrel".

It's a container that's used to store something.

So, the definition of "to scrape the barrel", "to scrape the barrel", or "to scrape the

bottom of the barrel".

So, as in the barrel's empty, and you're right at the bottom trying to get the last

little bit.

It means to use something or someone that you don't necessarily want to use, because

nothing else or no one else is available to you.

So, if you're scraping the bottom of the barrel it's like you are at your last choice.

You have no more options.

Nothing else is available.

You're right at the bottom of the barrel.

So I imagine leaning over into a barrel that was originally full of food.

Say it was full of apples.

And the good apples are at the top and the bad apples, the rotten ones, the ones that

have been so crushed, smooshed, under all of the other apples are at the bottom.

If you're scraping the bottom of the barrel, so literally dragging your hand or whatever

implement you're using to try and get the last little bit out of the barrel, across

the bottom of the barrel.

So, you're scraping your hand to try and reach the last little bit.

You're only going to get the really really bad apples or the last of what was in the

barrel.

So, you're scraping the barrel because you're getting the very very last little bit that

is not your first choice.

You wouldn't want this.

You'd want the nice apples that were on the top, but they're not available.

The only thing that's available is what's at the bottom of the barrel.

So, because it's not your first choice, you don't really want it, you're scraping the

bottom of the barrel.

So, let's go through some examples as usual guys.

So, imagine you want to go see a movie, but your friends are busy, most of your family's

busy, and you can't... you know, you want to go to the film with someone, but you can't

really think of anyone.

And so your last option, you ring up and you call your grandmother, and you ask her to

come to the film with you.

And the movie is an action film.

Maybe it's a James Bond or The Bourne Identity or something like that.

So, she's not really keen to see it, but she wants to see you, and you may not be that

keen to see your, you know, lovely old grandmother, but you don't want to go alone.

So, you ask your grandmother and she decides to come with you, and you could say by asking

your grandmother you're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

So, you're scraping the bottom of the barrel by asking your grandmother to come to the

movies, because she's your last choice.

You don't really like doing these kinds of activities together.

You wanted to go with other people that were your first choice, but you were left asking

your grandmother.

So, you're scraping the barrel.

You're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

And I guess you could say too that your grandmother is kind of doing this as well because she's

going to a film that she doesn't want to see.

So, she wants to see you, but she's scraping the bottom of the barrel with regards to the

film that she's seeing, 'cause it's not her first choice.

It's her only option though if she wants to see you.

Example number two, imagine you going on a road trip around Australia.

So, you're going on a road trip and you want to rent a really good van.

So, quite often backpackers who come to Australia, and other Australians who want to travel around

Australia on a road trip, will rent or buy a van, which is kind of like a large car with

a lot of room in it, in order to drive around.

They sleep in it.

They eat in it.

They keep all of their stuff in it.

So, you want to get this van.

You go and check out a few different van companies.

So there are companies that actually rent these vans out.

One of them is called Wicked Vans.

I think they're the ones you see with images spray-painted all over them.

And they tend to be pretty controversial.

They've been in the news I think a few times with like pictures of Hitler and/or penises

or weird things on these vans.

Anyway.

So, you want to go to Wicked Vans and rent one of these vans.

And when you go there to check them out you see that all the awesome luxury vans, and

you're like, "Oh man!

We've got to get one of these luxury vans.

I want one of these or some huge vans to take around Australia!".

When you discuss your budget with one of the employees who's renting out these vans you

work out that you're going to have to go a few tiers lower than the luxury van.

So, you're going to have to go to the bottom of the options of vans to rent.

And so, they take you outside to see the van that you're going to get and it's a total

bomb.

It's a wreck.

It's pretty much a paddock bomb, which is the kind of... a paddock bomb is a car that

is left on a farm to drive around on the farm, but isn't safe.

So, this thing is a total bomb.

It's a wreck.

It's very low quality.

You wanted something nice to hoon around in, to drive around in, but you're left with the

very very bottom of the barrel, effectively.

So, it'll do though.

You've got no other choice.

You've only got enough money to get this bomb.

So, you could say by settling for this van, the bomb, by being forced to choose this van,

you're scraping the barrel.

So, it's your last option.

It's your last choice.

You'd rather something else, something nicer, but you're going to have to go with this van.

You're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

By choosing this van you're scraping the barrel.

You're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

So, example number three.

Imagine you're at high school and you want to go to a disco or a school dance with a

girl or a boy.

But let's just imagine that you're a boy though, because it tends to be the boys who do the

asking of the girls to these sorts of things a disco or a school dance.

So, imagine you have in your head the girl that you want to ask to the school dance or

the disco, but you keep putting it off.

You keep delaying it.

You keep postponing actually asking her to the ball or to the disco, to the school dance.

So, this chick you've got a big crush on.

You really like her.

You want to ask her to dance, but you forget, and someone else jumps on the opportunity

and asks her to dance, and she says yes, unfortunately.

She says yes to them.

So, she's taken and you're left having to pick someone else.

So, you look around and all of a sudden you realise that all of your other options, all

of your other choices, have also been asked to the dance, and there's no one left.

And so, say you end up having to ask a girl who was not your first choice.

She was right at the bottom.

You guys don't even really get along.

You don't know her.

Maybe you're not attracted to her.

She doesn't like you.

But neither of you want to go to the dance alone.

So, you end up deciding, "Alright, we're going to go together".

By choosing that partner, by asking out that chick, that girl, to the dance, to the school

dance, to the disco, you're scraping the barrel.

So, she's not your first choice, but there's no one else available.

You didn't want to go with her.

You're scraping the bottom of the barrel when you asked her out.

By choosing her you're scraping the barrel.

So, I hope by now guys you get this expression to be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

As usual, let's go through a little listen and repeat exercise where this is your opportunity

to practice your pronunciation.

So, listen and repeat after me guys.

To scrape.

To scrape.

To scrape the bottom.

To scrape the bottom.

To scrape the bottom of the barrel.

To scrape the bottom of the barrel.

I was scraping the bottom of the barrel.

You were scraping the bottom of the barrel.

He was scraping the bottom of the barrel.

She was scraping the bottom of the barrel.

We were scraping the bottom of the barrel.

They were scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Good job guys.

So, as usual, I'll give you a little pronunciation and connected speech sort of point here.

You'll notice if you go back and repeat that exercise that I don't pronounce it as "scraping"

I say "scrapin'", "scrapin'.

And so, this is common in all forms of English, but it's particularly pronounced in Australian

English by native speakers.

So, particularly bogans are going to speak this way.

They're going to turn that "-ing" on the end of verbs or adjectives, whatever it is, where

the "-ing" is into "in'" it's going to sound like an "in'" sound.

So, instead of "scraping", it "scrapin'", "scrapin'".

And it's actually easier to say.

So, we'll go over this exercise one more time, guys, and I want you to try and pay attention

to the pronunciation of "-ing" as "in'".

Let's go.

I was scrapin' the barrel.

You were scrapin' the barrel.

He was scrapin' the barrel.

She was scrapin' the barrel.

We were scrapin' the barrel.

They were scrapin' the barrel.

Awesome stuff guys.

And just to end, I've forgotten in the last few episodes, but I'll do it again in this

one.

A little Australian fact.

Australia and Papua New Guinea are the only places in the world where you can find monotremes.

What are monotremes?

Monotremes are an ancient group of mammals for which there are only several species left,

and they include the platypus, the short-beaked echidna, and the long-beaked echidna.

And the long-beaked echidna used to be found in Australia, but has since gone extinct,

and is only found in Papua New Guinea now.

So these guys are unique because they are mammals that lay eggs.

Go figure.

So on that note guys, I hope you enjoyed this episode and I'll chat to you later.

All the best.

Tony Selimi on Adopting An Abundance Mindset in Business - Duration: 14:52.

Hi, I'm Alex Buick, Founder of HustleHub

and today I'm joined by one of

HustleHub's top mentors. So this is Tony

Selimi and he's an internationally

recognised speaker and he's also the

author of 3 books - his latest book being

#Loneliness so I'd like to introduce Tony.

Hello, hey! Great to have you on the show.

It's always great to be here!

So, Tony, first of all where did you start on

your entrepreneurial journey?

From scratch, from zero.

I was made redundant in 2009, and the situation that I had,

the money and flow literally disappeared overnight.

It was an extremely scary place to be because your entire being

is thinking about

how to pay your bills, how to pay your rent, your mortgage. How to find people who can help.

I didn't even know where to go frankly.

So, the first thing I did

it's about stepping back, and thinking about

what is it I really want to do. And deep

down I knew the corporate world wasn't

for me.

Absolutely it was exactly the same for me!

So,

that that awareness of actually

acknowledging to myself that I wanted to

be an entrepreneur - and giving myself

permission to be an entrepreneur was the

first thing that I did. And then I

started going to many different

workshops and seminars to see how I could

really build

my business and how I can really put

together the knowledge, the wisdom, the

tools that I'd learnt over 20 years in

the corporate world - as well as investing a lot

of time, energy and money in my personal

development. Sure, sure. So I guess you went

on a kind of a journey of self-discovery

to really draw out your passions.

Yes, absolutely - it is a journey

of self-discovery and also [determining] what is it

that you are here to do in the world.

I worked in technology, and whilst I

loved technology

for people, I am very much human person. I

love human connection

and I love interaction. And I'm always curious about

how to build that human awareness so

people can maximise it through human connection.

Fantastic. Well, Tony what's unique

about what you teach and the style that you use

when you're working with your clients?

The first thing that I do with my clients, is

actually, I take them on a journey because

life is a journey. Imagine yourself

being the best actor of best movie you ever

could potentially have

and the majority of the people out there,

they have, I would say,

problems in understanding and in knowing who they

truly are deep inside and the power

that gives them, which they have. So the first

thing is about identifying where the

person is and their life, it's bringing

them into the moment. You know, what is the

problem that they experience in that

specific moment. Whether it's a business

problem, whether it's a health problem,

relationship problem. Or, you know,

people might want to have clarity

about where their life is taking them.

So, as we identify what the problem is

and why they want to invest in this

journey - and then literally get them into

a space of their ideal life.

What would be their ideal scenario?

What would be the best version of themselves?

So, whether that be a global entrepreneur or

to have a product or service - whatever it

may be. Or for some people this

relationship. Or it could be to be in that

space of perfect health. So,

people have different challenges. So when

I bring them to that space and I look at

what are the main things, what are the

main obstacles that those people have?

And at the end of that process I

actually create a very custom designed

program for them.

Brilliant. And another

question I've got: so that there are

a certain number of areas which you

usually focus on when you're coaching

clients - which are those areas?

I believe that to maximize your

human potential, must look at the 8 key

areas of life: your spiritual life,

your business, your finances, your mind,

your emotional intelligence, your relationship,

your self-worthiness / self-confidence and love.

Fantastic. And I know from personal

experience if any of those are lacking

it can really hold you back in

the other areas.

I mean it's if one of

those areas in your life is not in

balance, it will take up time and space in

your mind. And the biggest problem I see

with many entrepreneurs out there, is where

this time is not efficiently used to

really drive their purpose in life, but

actually trying to manage the pain and the stress

that comes with not having a balance in

that specific area.

Great - and

are there any specific models or

frameworks you use in your work,

when you're coaching your clients?

Yes, absolutely. In 2013 when I joined

the KPI [Key Person of Influence] programme, where we both met,

I designed a specific methodology,

which is a 5-step methodology,

that I use every day to help clients look

into all those 8 key areas of life. And the

first thing they need to do is to

acknowledge the real problem,

and then take them through the process -which

is the main methodology called the TJS

Evolution Method and the acronym is

A.L.A.R.M. and the basis behind that is when we

come to a space within ourselves, when we

truly acknowledge love - and what love represents

to us in our inner being, then we

align our entire life around that. So

therefore with it we can create the

miracles and achieve the results we truly want.

So it's A.L.A.R.M. It stands for, imagine

one big alarm that wakes you

up in the morning, every morning.

Unfortunately, many people live their

lives on snooze. Deep down, they actually want

something and they want to create a

success for whatever they want in their

lives, but they continue to wake up

every day in the same reality.

Rather than really understanding how

they can listen to that alarm,

and how can they align their life, their processes,

their business, their relationship, their

worthiness towards the desired, ideal

life that they want to have in their

life. So, the intelligence that each

person has, has this alarm system that

prevents us to abuse it.

Abuses intelligence, because people

can abuse their power when it comes to

helping other people - or with themselves,

or when we are not listening

to it, that creates stresses in

the body. Absolutely, I know that that's

something that you touched on

in your most recent book #Loneliness, it can really hold you back and

I think as entrepreneurs, we just get

that nagging feeling that something

isn't right, and you're not living on purpose.

Exactly, yes - that nagging feeling that

people have, that's what I talk about, is

it's the body's alarm, trying to

communicate something to you, and

unfortunately because of the noise that

we've created in our lives, we're not really aligned

to be able to listen to that voice,

about what the body is telling us.

So, Tony I know that you specialise in

focusing on clients who have got

businesses that are turning over between

6 and 9 figures, so you're certainly a

very high-end coach. So what would

you say are the main mistakes that you see

entrepreneurs making today?

The main mistakes that most entrepreneurs

are making today is not having

the clarity required, within themselves

to be able to create a product that they

can sell to many people. And usually people try to

go into areas where they're not experts,

or they don't have credibility.

I always say, whatever you've done in

your life, you've done it for a reason. If

you are able to bring your expertise under

one product, and then you serve that product

from a place of heart, and from place of

service, then the clients that you are

trying to reach will find you. And

the majority of people don't have the 5

fundamentals in place that KPI programme

teaches. And if you don't have your own

processes, you'll end up using other

people's processes. And if you don't have the

credibility to be able to create that - I

would say go on a journey to have that

self-discovery about yourself, about who

you are, Grab yourself a great mentor or a

great coach. A lot of entrepeneurs, they

exchange. And I think this is the

biggest mistake I learned my personal

life - that when I wanted to step into that area of

serving those clients, I had

to pay my mentor double what I wanted to charge,

OK. So I would say, wherever you are if

you haven't got the mental that you pay

at the rate that you want your

clients to pay, then change that. Absolutely,

i fully agree and i know many of

the great entrepreneurs often say

that mentoring and coaching is one of the real keys to

success. So, how would you describe mentoring??

Do You think it's more of an investment? (Working

with somebody). For me personally I'd

say that whatever you invest in yourself,

it will pay out 100 times more. So, it

is an investment in yourself, and you

have to have that awareness that

whatever money you are

spending, you're spending in you.

And the most valuable thing in your life is you,

Without you, there's no business, there's

no product, there's no customer, there's no reality.

So the first thing I bring my clients to

get awareness of, is actually acknowledging you.

And as you do that, then you're able

to actually help a lot of people.

Absolutely, I fully agree, I mean,

I certainly wouldn't have got to where I'm at

now without the mentors and coaches I've had,

they've been so helpful. And whatever money

I've put into investing in myself, it's

always paid off. Yes, you know investment

in you - a lot of people, they invest

in holidays, they invest in cars, they

invest in clothes. But for me, I

invested a lot of time, energy and money in myself.

This is now, what I see, is paying off. I've been invited to speak

at U.N. and I've been to meet Jack Canfield. I'm going to Albania to appear on many different channels.

So I'm appearing on many different TV and radio stations as an

expert. And then also, I'm drawing a lot of

amazing clients to work with me - and creating a lot of new connections.

Including, we are actually launching a new documentary

called 'Living My Vision' which is about the

power that coaching and mentoring can

have in one's life, especially successful

business owners. Terrific, really good. And

also Tony, just going back to a point

you touched on earlier - so you spoke

about getting your mindset right,

how important is it to really do that

inner-work that is critical to move you forward?

It's crucial.

It's step number one. You must do your inner-work.

because when you do your inner-work,

in every situation and with every

client, you represent your best. When people

see the best in you they can actually

acknowledge the best in themselves.

So it therefore opens up the trust and

relationship required for you to really

take the client from where they are to

where they want to be. OK, yes, I

completely agree with that. I've

certainly found it to be the case in my

experience. Tony, what would you

say are the 3

actionable steps entrepreneurs can go

away and begin taking today to become more

successful in their business?

1. Have clear product.

And [write] your book.

And then, you can actually

build your profile around that. So that's the

first action step. The second action step

is actually really knowing how to

communicate your vision, mission and your

purpose in life. Because people want to know

about what you stand for and why

you're doing what you're doing. And if

you come from that space of awareness

where you radiate the passion you have

about what you do, people will pick it up.

So it's extremely important to be able

to communicate that in a way that people

can hear you because there's a lot of

noise out there in the market - especially for

people who are entrepreneurs and coaches,

you know, whatever business you may be

running. But your voice is unique and

unless you say it in a way that people

tune in to that message that you have, you'll just get

lost in the noice. And the third thing

I would say it's about investing in you.

That could be, as an entrepreneur to

always have a mentor or coach who can

keep you on track with what you're doing

and somebody who can inspire you to be

accountable to yourself. A lot of people

think that a coach is there to keep you accountable.

I totally believe in empowerment of yourself.

Meaning, a good coach will help

you to become accountable.

So next time you meet your coach, you

actually share your own lack accountability,

what you've done since the last session. Sure, well that's them some

fantastic advice Tony and I have to

say, as you touched on,

if you're able to communicate your

vision and your purpose effectively

people are going to see that and

they're going to become interested and people

who can help are likely to be able to jump

on board with you and so when you.

And this comes back to something you teach

in one of your books #Loneliness

when you're vibrating in that frequency,

you actually draw others into you so you're

able to operate from that place

of abundance, rather than a place of

scarcity. And that's when the real

opportunities start to show up. Absolutely, one of

the things I notice in people it's

what most people are not aware of, that I'm

talking about in #Loneliness, is

the human energy field. Before

we communicate, our human energy

communicates with another human being.

So before you even open up your mouth, the

other person has already made a

decision of whether they want to engage

with you or not.

And that is the miracle about life. It's

about all the hidden communication that

most people don't really know how to

interpret and shift in themselves. And

that's why the inner-work is extremely

important because we change the

vibrational frequency at which you

radiate and connect to people.

Brilliant. Well Tony, it has been an absolute

pleasure speaking with you. So where can

clients find out more about your

services and what you offer?

They can go on my website TonyJSelimi.com.

TonyJSelimi.com and they'll have all the information on there.

Perfect, thank you very much Tony - I really appreciate it.

Thank you. Thanks.

Bible Study at Playlist Live 2014 - Duration: 39:31.

If you're not a Christian basically we here...

We're Christian.

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins.

And, basically, when I was young I didn't believe in it whatsoever.

I kinda...I wasn't raised christian.

I kinda was super against it and stuff. I didn't believe in it whatsoever.

And then I stumbled upon a youth group in a park, actually.

And they were doing a Bible study with free food and dodge ball so I'm like "Yeah, that's sweet."

And I started going to youth group because of that and started...

What's up, dude?

Hey, have a seat!

We're doing a "bibble" study.

We're doing a Bible study.

How are you?

Sit down! Listen! It's going to be fun!

About to tell you the best news of your life!

You guys want to move over there?

Okay!

I didn't believe whatsoever. I was super against it.

I was like "That doesn't make any sense. Like there's God doing all this stuff and whatnot."

And I started going to youth group and started thinking like "Oh, maybe this is real" and stuff.

And as soon as I started giving it a chance and being open to it, it completely changed my life.

And it's pretty much why I do everything I do nowadays.

And I know that's the same for a lot of us over here.

We're kinda just going to do a little Bible study and talk about some cool things that have affected our life through God.

And we're Christians here. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins.

This is Brian.

This is Tessa and Shawna.

And we're...we're just gonna kinda keep it chill over here.

Brian, you want to take it away?

Was there a question (sorry)?

Yeah?

(Can you speak louder so that we can hear you?)

All right.

Absolutely.

We'll try.

I'm just gonna introduce myself and I'm gonna pass if off to Tessa.

If you want to start...I'll introduce you...scriptures...that's cool.

For ya'll that don't know me because I'm not a "YouTuber" my name's Brian Vickers.

I'm a member of a group called Team Impact.

Team Impact used to be called The Power Team back in the day.

We're a faith-based ministry.

We travel all over the world.

We do motivational speaking and bring messages of hope and faith.

We do feats of strength.

We run through walls of ice and break bricks.

We tell people about God.

We're all professional athletes in different sports.

You've got UFC champions, you got professional wrestlers...

Pro Strongmen, NFL football players.

I travel the globe. We're on the TBN network.

We get to go and speak...we see about a thousand-we do about a thousand school assemblies a year.

And then we see about two million people a year.

And it's just...God's laid it on my heart.

He's given me a platform through strength and strength-based sports to get the Word out.

To share my story along with His story with a lot of people which is allowing us to do

this cool thing here with ya'll today.

That's me and that's why I'm here; why I have a passion to be here and set up with Lane and kind

of share it with you guys tonight.

I'm Lane by the way.

I'm a musician.

This is Tessa. She does music and YouTube as well.

And we're just Christian people. And we got some cool stuff to say...a few words and stuff.

Tessa, you want to take it away?

Hey, guys!

Can the people in the back...are you like...can you hear at all?

Come over here maybe more.

So, I didn't grow up in a Christian home either.

In fact I didn't meet any Christians until I met Shawna when I was 18.

And I saw right away that she was very special and very smart, and a critical thinker.

And I remember thinking "Wow, you seem so smart to be a Christian.

And you seem really, like, funny and normal."

I had only ever seen, like, Westboro Baptist Church on the news and, like, a lot of really not great stuff.

So...I guess in 2000...

I met her in 2008 and for the next couple of years I got to witness her and how much

of a light she was in my life when I went through a lot of really dark depression and a lot of self-loathing.

I'm sure things that we all deal with.

And a few other Christians.

I met Lane a couple years later and I just remember thinking there was something different about these people.

And "I don't believe in God. I don't think I could ever believe in God. The world is so horrible."

And I felt like "I don't believe that I deserved to be sent to Hell.

And I don't think a loving God would send me to Hell."

And I remember at one point I asked Shawna about that specifically and she told me

"It's not that the Lord is condemning you.

Instead, what you do ...we're headed there anyway and the Lord is ready and waiting to save you.

And He loves you so much more than you could ever imagine!

And He wants to know you.

And I remember thinking like "Yeah, okay, whatever, ha-ha-ha-ha!"

And then in the year 2001 <2011> I just kind of hit a wall.

I was doing a lot of drugs (Shawna: It's not 2001) and really thinking about...ending it?

And I thought "Well, maybe I can give this Christianity thing a try 'cause, like, I've never done that before, right?"

And I appreciate the rules, if you will.

"I can't believe in God but I'll do that.

I'll go to church.

Sure!"

So, I went to church on a Sunday.

And I was, like, singing and I'm like "This is kinda weird."

And I'm like "Maybe I could try praying. I don't know. I've never done that before."

So I did.

And I was like "Lord, if you are real show yourself to me right now!

And I promise that I'll live every day for the rest of my life for you and I'll never go back.

And I will never drink and I'll never smoke again.

And I'll just live every day for you."

And He did.

And I could feel it in my body and it was the most real thing I've ever felt.

And I remember leaving with feeling like "I am not the person that I was yesterday."

And I'm so excited to know a God that loves me so much and I'm so excited to serve people that He loves so, so much.

So that's my story.

I'm three years deep in my faith now.

I recently moved to Nashville and Nashville is in the Bible Belt, if you don't know.

And I've been dealing with some different things, I guess.

Moving out of a place that has--moving into a place that has a lot of those, so...

I have some scripture today!

Pulling it up!

What verse is it?

Yeah, okay!

I'm gonna read Luke 10:17.

And I'm gonna read from The Message!

I know, I know!

It's easy for me to understand!

Ya'll got the Bible app?

It's free!

Yeah!

So this is right after Jesus has revealed who He is and He says "I'm going to send my disciples

out in two and you're going to work miracles for me and you're going to help people

know me and see how good I am."

Luke 10:17: "The seventy came back triumphant.

"Master, even the demons danced to your tune!"

Jesus said, "I know.

I saw Satan fall, a bolt of lightning out of the sky.

See what I've given you?

Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the Enemy.

No one can put a hand on you.

All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God's authority

over you and presence with you.

Not what you do for God but what God does for you—that's the agenda for rejoicing."

I find that to be very, very relevant in my own life.

As a YouTuber, and as a person, it's so very easy to get wrapped up in your work and (?) and worldly things.

Especially in YouTube. How many people like you? How many people admire you?

And especially, in a number of places--How many Twitter followers do I have?

Are the people responding well to my art?

And do people recognize that I am creative?

And that passage is about remembering that the Lord loves you

not based on what you do but just on creating you.

Because He loves you so, so much!

And He rejoices when you can do things for His Kingdom.

But whether or not you fail or succeed, His love is not based on that, you know?

And it's easy for me to get wrapped up in, like "Oh, I didn't say what I should have

said to that person but, like, I could have told him about my testimony!

But I was afraid that they wouldn't like me!

And then I feel like "Ah, Lord, I've let you down!

Now I'm not worth as much!"

And that's just not the reality.

And I think it's important to remember that when you feel down on yourself, that you're

not doing enough, that...the Lord still loves you so, so much!

And that is what I wanted to share!

That's awesome!

All right!

I'm gonna stand up 'cause I'm a little bit more animated!

So, one of the awesome things about Team Impact and what we get to do when go speak life into

people that we might normally not cross our paths with is to be able to encourage ya'll.

But, believe it or not, scripture is very encouraging!

The most important thing that God talks about in the Bible is His love!

And if you spend time in scripture you'll understand how important love is to all of us.

So I do want to share a scripture with you.

And, but, I want this to be encouraging to everybody here.

Ya'll understand? Like this is important.

We wanted to do this to be able to share with you guys.

Romans 10:13 is probably one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible.

'Cause Romans 10:13 talks about "anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

It doesn't say "someone," it doesn't say "you know, I'm going to have a select few" but

"anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

That means it doesn't matter where you live, how much money you have.

It doesn't matter what color your skin is.

If you request that relationship with Christ, who's waiting there to accept you in with

open arms, then he's going to accept you.

Now that's like the best news in the Bible.

I'm telling you it's like...it doesn't matter.

There's some people and it might be out here because I was this way one time.

You might feel that you've done something so bad in your past that God can't love you.

Tessa kinda touched on that.

Like you might have felt that you're just, like, condemned.

But let me remind you--everybody knows John 3:16 right here, right?

Raise your hand if you heard John 3:16, the most popular verse in the Bible.

Who's followed it up?

You know what John 3:17 says?

This is the important part.

When you start feeling that God's condemning you or God's a condemning God

and not a loving God it says it right there.

And it clears your mind that God sent His Son not in the world to condemn the world

but that the world through Him might be saved.

You all understand that?

That's telling you right there that you don't have to worry about that feeling of condemnation.

And if you call upon Him He says it.

He will accept you.

But you have to be willing.

Look, every single one of us is a sinner out here.

Nobody's perfect, even the Christians that are here.

But don't get this twisted.

You just--I'm a sinner standing up here just like you are and I'm in the ministry.

But God says "It's okay. I'll love you anyway. I can use you."

Okay?

Understand the power of that.

Understand the power that God uses people that don't think that they're worthy enough

to get His message out there.

Which is awesome! I mean that's total love!

I hope if there's somebody out here that doesn't and has never experienced God's grace...

And if you don't know what grace is it's that unconditional love that you can't do

--like Tessa said--there's nothing that you can do but Ephesians 2: 8-9 says "It's by grace through

faith that we've been saved and not by acts of our own.

So shall no man boast."

It doesn't matter how good you do, how much you...

You know you can spend time in the homeless shelter.

You can give money to different charities.

It's not through your own acts.

It's through faith by grace because God loved us enough to do what He did, which we'll talk about.

Guys, ya'll gotta--I hope if you haven't experienced grace that ya'll are here with an open heart

and an open mind. I really do.

30 years ago...almost 30 years ago...I learned of God's grace.

I'll get kinda--go into my testimony just a little bit.

But I was sitting at Bible class and in a small Christian school and I listened to my

pastor talk about a God who sent His only Son.

Think about that if once you're a parent, or if you're a parent already if you're here,

the sacrifice of sending your son to live the perfect, sinless life that none of us could live.

Not one of us can live it. We're all sinners.

Scripture says we're born dead in our trespasses.

We're all born into sin.

But God also gives us free will.

People mistake that with God condemning us why would he just bear us in (?).

God doesn't make robots.

He want you to want that relationship with Him.

Ya'll understand that?

He wants you to want that.

He's making you free will.

If God just made everybody the same there would be no purpose for the sacrifice He would give.

But I learned that He sent His Son to live that perfect sinless life that we couldn't

live and to die a sacrificial death.

The most brutal death that you could imagine.

But the cool thing is on the third day He proved that He was God

by raising and turning dead flesh into life!

Grasp a hold of that concept, guys.

That's that sacrifice that He made for us.

'Cause He knew we wouldn't be able to that.

Remember, Jesus was the only person who could ever resist any temptation known to man. And He did it.

And that was not for Him.

It was for us.

That's powerful and that's...that's love, guys.

That's that grace! That's that unconditional love!

I hope that ya'll have experienced it.

Because there is that time where, if you are Christian and you do have that relationship...

Tessa went through some really cool stuff too.

I want you all to understand something.

People have a horrible perception of Christians now based upon labels.

But let me explain something to you.

This is religion.

Religion is killing people's view of Jesus.

You know, there's a scripture...there's a story in the Bible where these four men took

their paralyzed friend to Jesus.

Do ya'll remember that?

They used...they harnessed ropes up and cut a hole in the roof to lower him to get closer to Jesus.

At the time Jesus...pay attention, the Christians over here...Jesus was surrounded by the religious

scholars of the day.

The people that knew religion the most.

But guess what, the person needed Jesus the most was being blocked out by those guys.

Those guys wouldn't let him get to Jesus.

That's kinda the way religion has turned in the United States today.

Look, I'm gonna show you something.

Religion's way out here. You hear a lot of people say "I'm religious."

Tessa talked about the Bible saying, you know "You can't do enough good things to earn your way into Heaven.

Okay?

Religion's out here.

I want to tell you something.

There's a lot of "I go to the gym religiously. I eat religiously." This is religion.

It doesn't get you into Heaven. It's like a check list for most people that aren't Christians.

They like "Man, you know I go to church! I read my Bible!" "Do you have Christ in your life?"

"No, but I do good things!"

But there's a lot of people that live their life like that right now.

Religion's here! That's not what saves you!

Relationship saves you!

It's that relationship that God wants to have with you. He's just waiting!

He loves every single one of us more than we deserve!

Let me tell you, a lot of people here that are in the YouTube world have a powerful stance to use that platform...

There's no reason why--there is a specific reason why you might have 100,000 followers,

40,000 followers...even if you had one follower.

God's given you a platform to speak life into other people.

We have a job and a duty as Christians to plant the seed. You don't have to force feed anybody anything.

God's...God is the water to the vine, right?

You plant the seed. He takes it over from there. You understand?

Some people think it's too "I don't know how to share scripture with you. I don't know. I can't speak well."

God's given each and every one of you a platform, whatever if may be, through music, through

strength sports, through whatever it is He's given you the platform.

But He also expects you and you...you should be humbled that he gave you that opportunity,

the talent, whatever it may be, to go and spread His Word.

Everybody look at your thumb. Everybody look at your thumb. What, the planet's like seven billion people now?

Every one of us has...there's nobody that has the same thumbprint as us.

You know that that means? Huh? We're each born with a unique purpose.

Every single one of us has a purpose. Every single one of us has a...I would say an obligation.

Because I'm seriously humbled that the Lord chooses for me, a sinner, to go out and share His Word.

But guess what? I've...anybody that will open their ears us I'm willing to talk to.

And I'm not the best speaker anyway. It's 17 years of being a cop.

I'm more direct!

And I want you to know something. That grace is incredible!

Team Impact...and this will kind of bring it in to some of ya'll...Team Impact, when

we get announced, they start talking about "Your Brian Vickers five time World Power-lifting

Champion and Pro Strongman" they're classifying and labeling us.

We go through life as teenagers, as adults sometimes, we're grasping onto titles.

We're trying to grasp things that don't really matter.

Like, because we're sports driven, when they announce us they're putting all of our accolades up there.

But let me tell you something. Titles don't define my life. And they shouldn't define yours either.

The only title I care about is being a child of God. And that was something that I couldn't earn.

That's something that was earned for me. That price was paid a long time ago for me.

I want to encourage each and every single one of ya'll.

If ya'll haven't...if there hasn't been that finite moment that ya'll remember that Jesus

came into your life and He spoke to you, if there hasn't been that moment that you've accepted

Him in, that you understood that He sent His Son to die for you died a sacrificial death,

and also rose again on the third day proving that He was God, if there hasn't been that

time, let me tell you...now's...we're not gonna let you go...this ain't just an ordinary Bible study.

But in a second we're gonna give you that opportunity. Okay?

Because, guess what, tomorrow's not promised, guys. Next week's not promised. Next month's not promised.

Your next breath...we're living on borrowed time. Your next breath isn't promised.

I mean I could die 30 years from now or 30 seconds from now.

But the good news is that I know when I die, I don't know about you, but when I die I know

I'm going to a real place called Heaven!

Because whether you believe it or not: Heaven and Hell exist.

And I talked to somebody that used to "Well, I can't see it, I don't know about it."

Well, guess what? If I took you...if you told me "Hey, Brian, I don't believe in gravity."

But I took you up there to the top of that building and pushed you off?

Just 'cause you didn't believe in gravity you think that's gonna save you?

You can believe it or not but it's there.

So I would encourage you if something speaks to your heart tonight...

I'm gonna let Lane share a little scripture real quick.

And I want to encourage you, everybody here, to not be ashamed.

I stand before you--and I didn't know if everybody likes to pray--

but I stand before you unashamed. I'll go and spread the Gospel with anybody out there.

Anybody! I don't care if they want to hear me or not.

They're welcome to...(?)...I'm gonna keep going around telling them how great Jesus is.

But I'm unashamed and you need to be unashamed.

If you don't have that...if you don't have that relationship with Christ, you can have it!

We'll give you the opportunity in a little bit. We'll even talk you through it.

And a second after Lane shares I'll come back up and we'll do what's called a prayer of salvation.

If somebody feels--nobody's going to be looking around--we'll all keep it close and keep it tight knit.

But we're gonna give you the opportunity and I and Lane will lead ya'll through that prayer

because we don't want you to leave here and not have that relationship with Christ.

And know that you want that and not give you the opportunity to do it.

And most people don't know how. And then also we'll talk about how to grow in your faith.

I'ma let Lane come up real quick...

Shawna's got something to say. Okay, Shawna, I'm sorry!

Shawna's gonna say something and then we'll kinda wrap it up in a little bit.

Hi, guys! I'm Shawna. I make videos on YouTube under the name Nanalew.

I just wanna talk to you guys a little bit about sort of shifting directions here.

About how many people would say that right now you're a Christian

or you're sort of feeling out the Christian life?

Let's see those hands. Don't feel bad if you're not! It's okay! I just wanna see hands here.

How many people are making things, whether you're a Christian or not, you're making things?

YouTube videos? Other things? I want to speak to you guys in particular.

Because I'm a Christian and I make things.

And I get a lot of other Christians sometimes telling me that what I make needs to be a certain way because I'm a Christian.

I need to be always explicitly telling people the Gospel and I need to be doing this or I need to be doing that.

And I want to talk to you guys that maybe are in the arts, maybe are feeling discouraged.

I know that Tessa as a songwriter might have felt this way. And we've talked about this before.

Being Christians is to not feel like you're bottled in.

Like your talent has being just shoved into a box.

That you can only sing worship songs or you can only make videos about Jesus.

And I want to tell you that because God is creative and He gave us stories to tell!

Just a view of the world around you, whether you believe in God or not...

Whether you believe in God or not, if there's a God here, we know that he is creative.

'Cause look at the world, look at us, look at the things that are happening and the stories we tell.

And I remember that I was once told by a creative person that "It's okay for you to just be

creative and be the best that you can be and be making good things because that is Christian!"

It's Christian to be making good things!

You don't have to always be whacking someone with the Bible all the time!

That doesn't always get people to feel like they can talk to you about things!

But I think a lot of you guys here who don't know about much about Christianity, maybe

you're here because you've watched Lane, or me, or Tessa, and you felt like "Hey, I can

talk to them and maybe they have something that we can talk about with Christianity because

someone over there likes speaking on a pulpit. I don't feel comfortable talking to them!"

And I feel like that's a big part of my calling as a Christian creator is to make good things

that are infused with the passion that God's given me. And obviously being responsible like

sharing messages that are in line with my faith but not feeling like I have to go and

make videos that are just about the Gospel.

So I just wanted to encourage you guys 'cause I know it's overwhelming and Christians in the arts don't ever hear that!

We don't ever hear that at our church! We don't hear that from our leaders! We're made to regress in arts and not grow!

And I just want to encourage you that that's not Biblical! It comes from a place of love in the church.

They don't understand it. And you just have to live your Christian life as best you can being an example.

Just wanted to say thank you guys for coming today and if any of you guys want to talk

about some of this stuff we'd love to talk to you!

We're gonna have a public Q&A where you can ask questions to us publicly if you want

us to discuss it so it can benefit everybody.

If you want to come to one of us after and talk privately that's totally fine.

And I also wanted to put this out there that if you're struggling with doubt you don't

believe that there might be a God? You don't feel like you could ever believe that like Tessa?

And that's totally fine! That's part of our humanity.

Not everybody hears about God and and can immediately believe it.

You don't have to feel ashamed of that.

He doesn't love you any less because you are confused or you're cynical and I feel like

that's something that people need to be told.

That sometimes it takes a while for you to get to the place where you're ready and that's okay.

You don't feel like you're ready today?

Please don't feel pressured to come up and say "I'll be a Christian"!

You can do your best to feel your way out. And like he said there is an urgency.

We want you to obviously have the chance to experience God's grace.

But we also realize that a lot of people are just learning about it and just figuring it out.

Trying to feel it out. And that's okay.

I grew up in a Christian home. My parents are wonderful parents! Basically had the perfect childhood.

My Dad's a pastor. My Mom would support him through the years. And my Dad became a teacher.

He got his PhD and he's been teaching and preaching ever since.

So I have a very strong Biblical, theological background.

But when it came into...for my life, like, emotionally, spiritually believing that God

was here and able to work in my life that was hard for me.

So I went through a time when in my teens... 17, 18, 19 where I was depressed and I wasn't sure if God existed.

And I was angry at Him for not making this easy for me.

And I was mad at my self because believed intellectually that He existed.

I just want to say that if you're in that place where you sort of feel like maybe intellectually believe but emotionally you don't?

I just want to encourage you and say that God loves you! Outside of that he knows what you're going through.

He takes you as you are! And He wants to use you as you are!

And that's something that has really encouraged me because I don't always know how to share

my faith or how to live or what to do in my career. I don't know what I'm doing!

But I know that I can trust God and follow His scripture and rely on Him to work in my life.

And He has worked in my life so much!

No matter how many times I've doubted Him,which is basically EVERY time, He comes through

and He works in my life and He lifts me up every time I ask! So I just wanted to tell you guys that.

I wanted to tell you what a blessing He's been in my life and encourage you to think about it!

Because He has saved me from so much self-loathing and has lifted me up and allowed me to create

things and do things and that I could never do by myself!

So when I stand up and say that God has worked through me and it's by God's power that I

can make anything it's absolutely 100% true!

And I'm so excited for some of you, or all of you, or even one of you to experience the

love that He has and the peace that you can have!

An unshaken peace that cannot be touched by anything anybody says about you or by what you say to yourself!

So I'm just going to invite Lane now or anyone who wants to stand up just to continue.

And again if you have any questions to be thinking about that and we'll see if we can answer publicly or privately.

If you want us to pray with you we'd love to do that and I think we're gonna pray together as a group as well after.

Thanks, Shawna.

I'm just gonna keep it short. For those of you guys that might not be Christians.

If you give it a chance, if you are open to it like "Hey, maybe this is possible" I promise

you, I give you my word as a man, it will change your life completely!

Like I said I used to be completely, 110% doubtful of it. Didn't believe it whatsoever.

Soon as I started giving it a chance I started seeing things and understanding more and

if you give it a chance it will change your life completely. I promise you! I promise you!

I just want to...Romans 1 is, like, my favorite verse. I just want to say it real quick.

Actually...

...better version on the app.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies

as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

My favorite part is that "do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

A lot of you guys are at the age, I mean we all are really, that you kinda decide what

road you go down, who you're gonna hang out with, what kind of stuff you're gonna get into.

Whether that's--

...the road you want to go down it's going to be awesome. That's all I have to say.

And it's gonna be sweet! Take my word for it! Give it a chance! Check it out!

Brian's gonna say a prayer real quick if that's cool with you guys.

And, seriously, thank you guys all for coming! And we'd all love to talk to you after too. God bless you guys!

Alright, so one more time.

Just because I kind--normally with the Bible study you wouldn't get this...

in depth with what we're about to do but I kinda felt it--I told Lane that God really laid it on my heart

to give the opportunity. I think we need to.

'Cause there might be somebody here that God spoke to right now.

That might be that moment that God, like everybody's here not by accident.

Everybody's here because there's a purpose.

And God wants you to hear the words that the people have shared today with you guys.

What I'm gonna do is I'd like to offer the opportunity if there's somebody here that's

never accepted Christ I'd like to offer that opportunity to them.

And it's not from us. It's not from Lane. It's nothing that we can do 'cause none of us can save you guys.

And I want to tell you something that I always tell people that it doesn't take a real man

to pull a truck and break baseball bats like we do at Team Impact.

But it takes a real man to and woman to stand up for God. Especially nowadays.

And, like I said, this whole thing we wanted to be encouraging to you guys.

But what I want to do is kinda offer the opportunity...Now I understand that the first thing ya'll are gonna do is be like

"Oh, well I don't want nobody to know that I don't have a relationship with Christ."

Well, right now it doesn't matter what an...It never matters what anybody else thinks of you.

The only thing that matters is how you're living your life in your relationship with Christ.

'Cause you're gonna go through life and not everybody's gonna like it. I hate to give you all that bad news right now.

But the good news is that Christ is there waiting for you to have the personal relationship with Him.

So in a second I'm gonna ask ya'll to bow your heads. I kinda want to get a--and nobody's gonna look around.

I'll make sure of it because you know if anybody looked around I'd pop 'em on top of the head!

But I would like ya'll to bow your heads and I'm gonna ask one thing.

The thing I'm gonna ask is before we say this prayer I want you to slip your hand up if

you don't have that relationship with Christ but you want it. Do you want that opportunity now?

You remember what I said is "Our next breath isn't guaranteed."

Don't leave here if you feel God's speaking to you and you want that relationship.

You don't have the relationship with Him? Don't leave now! Now's the perfect time! Better than ever.

'Cause like I said you're...we're living on borrowed time. There's no guarantee in our lives.

I've sadly seen people pass from my life that didn't have the relationship with Christ.

And I don't want ya'll to be not afforded the opportunity to do it and so I'm gonna

count to three in a second but I want everybody, if you can right now, just to bow your heads. Close your eyes.

With nobody looking around please--only me--I would ask if there's somebody out there in

this group, and God's speaking to your heart, and you've been able to be touched by His

grace, and understand He just wants a relationship with you, that you know that you're worthy

and He loves you, and He's just waiting for you to come home to Him, if that person's

you and you want us to say that prayer with you I want you to slip your hand up when I count to three.

Please don't be ashamed. Nobody's looking around. It's just me.

One...two...three.

Amen. Thank you, thank you so much! Ya'll put your hands down. Wow! There was quite a few!

So just so they don't feel out of place everybody else if ya'll would join in.

Now listen, guys, the ones that raised your hands...ya'll keep your heads bowed.

The ones that raised your hands there's no special words or power in these words that I'm saying.

But if they do represent the cry of your heart and they do represent you wanting that personal relationship with God and that's all He asks.

So what I will, just so we can encourage the ones that raised their hands, if everybody

together will join in with the prayer to encourage 'em.

So I'm gonna go ahead and say the prayer. If everybody will kinda join in:

"Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, I ask you into my life. I realize that I'm a sinner in need of a savior.

Lord, I thank you for sending your Son to die that sacrificial death and cleanse me of my sins.

Lord, I believe on the third day that you rose Jesus again proving that you are God.

Lord, I love you. Lord, I thank you. I ask you to come into my heart in Jesus' name. Amen."

Everybody give the Lord a round of applause!

Alright!

Now...(?)...there were some hands up.

And I'm so thankful that we were able to come and share this with you guys!

Now I'm gonna ask you to something a little bit--I'm gonna ask you one more thing--for the ones that...the ones that raised your hands.

I truly believe that if that meant, if that was the cry of your heart, you meant those

words, that you now have have a place in Heaven for your eternal life. That's amazing!

And I'm so proud of each and every one of you that raised your hands!

But I kinda want to do something!

I'm gonna ask again, the ones that raised your hands, and remember we're all family

here, but I'm gonna ask you on the count of three I want you all to come forward and I'm gonna tell you why.

I know you're going "uh." I see some people gripping that grass real tight.

But, listen, this is the only time in scripture that...the only time in the Bible that scripture

says that there's rejoicing going on in Heaven.

So let me tell you something: The angels are partying big time right now!

Because I saw a lot of hands! Okay? But what I would like to do and let me tell you why.

Jesus wants me to accept Him into our life because He expects us to take that public admission of faith.

It takes faith to take that step forward in front of your peers. It's not easy. But, guess what?

If that really was the cry of your heart, you meant that prayer, then I believe that

a team of wild horses would not hold you back from coming up here!

And the only thing that I want to do in bringing you up here is I want everybody to clap for you.

I want you to know that now you're comforted! Now there's nothing that life, that the devil can throw at you.

God is better! God is bigger and God's stronger!

The devil's already defeated and he knows that! So he's trying to take as many people with him as he wants.

But, guess what, I want to encourage you to come up here because I'd like to pray for ya'll specifically.

That would mean a lot to me.

I want to be able to see that ya'll are willing to take a stand because if you can't take

three steps out here for God then how are you going to take one step out there when

you get away from the people that are encourage you and they care about you?

Plus I kinda want to talk to you about how to grow in your faith.

Little three things that will kinda encourage you to do because now's the greatest day of your life!

Now's your spiritual birthday...the guys that raised their hand and said that prayer.

So I'd really like to encourage you to come forward. They're just gonna clap.

Please! I encourage you to please do that! Okay?

And, so on the count of three everybody's trying to kinda come give a round of applause.

I'm gonna let them come up here and then we can pray for ya'll together as a group.

And I would like ya'll to come up here. It's just, it's very important to me.

I want to encourage you. (And me!) Nobody's gonna make fun of--yeah.

But nobody's gonna make fun of you! Trust me! Nobody's gonna make fun of you 'cause I'm here.

But on the count of three I want to invite you up with us. Let us pray for you 'cause there were a lot of hands, guys.

Please don't be embarrassed to come up here. Look at me! I'm standing up here proud and unashamed.

So on the count of three I want everybody else to give a round of applause.

I want them to come up here and we're gonna pray for you real quick. Okay?

One...two...three!

Northern Toboggan and Sled - Duration: 6:13.

(light music)

- [Narrator] A Warroad, Minnesota family business

still manufacturers and sells toboggans.

The Harren family takes great pride in their work

and they are one of the few toboggan makers left

in the entire world.

(upbeat music)

- When I started, there was

an older German in Hay River, Northwest Territories

that was making them,

and another guy in Saskatchewan.

And then Sheboygan.

But for people that would make them

in any quantities

that could be distributed to a store,

or supply a dealer,

yeah there's just been a few of us.

The one we worked on today,

once all the parts are made,

just assembling the toboggan,

maybe an hour and a half.

Bigger toboggans taking like

eight hours, somewhere in there.

But then you have to figure in making those parts,

you have to figure in selecting lumber,

planning it, tapering it, bending it,

and then sanding, finishing, and packing it.

Or put the ropes on, pack it for shipment.

Both Jack and Gabe, when they were in high school,

they started carpentering in the summer,

and then they worked in the shop here and,

I always kid them, just when they were starting

to get pretty good at toboggans,

they took off and went to college.

- More and more, every time I make a toboggan

with my dad, I pick up a-

oh that's the decision he just made or

that's why we're doing it this way

versus another way.

So I've got an appreciation for,

just for the craftsmanship that

goes along with making a toboggan.

That's what sets it apart from

anything else that I've been involved with.

I think one of the most rewarding things

with this business is

just understanding and getting the opportunity

to really connect with every customer we have.

- That would probably be, I don't know,

we'd call it the traditional market.

People who use toboggans for subsistence

in their way of life.

And then we have recreational size toboggans,

which would be the toboggans that

you might have grown up with as a kid.

(light music)

- Whether it's the aboriginals up north,

or whether it's somebody that has a cabin

in a remote area that's using our toboggan

to haul supplies to,

it seems like every toboggan we sell

there's a little bit of a story behind it.

We had an opportunity this summer

to visit some of our long standing customers

that year after year,

have purchased toboggans.

It's really neat,

they really rely on the toboggan

for their way of life.

- This one and that order out there

is gonna go to Winnipeg on Wednesday.

And it'll go by truck

from Winnipeg to Edmonton.

And then it'll get on a truck and it'll

go on the ice road up to Colville Lake,

Northwest Territories.

It's about 500 miles north of Yellowknife.

- The caribou migrate across the north.

And it's a main source of food for

a lot of the communities that still are in existence.

So what they do is they'll travel

in large groups with several toboggans.

These days typically with snow machine.

Used to be dog teams.

And they follow the caribou herds

and they harvest a lot of caribou,

and they dry the meat,

and they haul their supplies and haul

the caribou with their toboggans.

- I know I've said before that

I think it's true that there's no place

in the world where

a winter sled is tested like it is in northern Canada.

'Cause it's the way of life,

they've been doing it for thousands of years.

- I was in contact with all of

our customers who had purchased a toboggan

this winter.

And I just sent them some general information,

just checking in,

and it was so exciting

to hear their feedback,

just fun.

They said they are having so much fun,

they love it.

Oh I think there's definitely room for growth.

It's been exciting,

and I think we have ideas.

Every day we have a different idea,

and it's how to take those ideas,

and move them forward in a manageable

and timely way.

- The feeling that I have after doing this

for 22 years, that

I'm gonna be able to sell toboggans up north

for as long as I want to make them.

And I think people up there would appreciate it if

we get somebody else making them.

More than one have told me they've tried

every kind of sled up there, and

the wooden toboggan is superior to all of them.

This year was a pretty good year.

Lot of big toboggans in Canada.

The Canadian dollar's been really weak

in the last couple years,

which isn't helping.

There's some folks up there

heard they'll put like 15,000 kilometers

a season.

Like you know this summer we'll probably start

making inventory of our smaller toboggans,

so we have those

in stock.

And then maybe do some inventory

of the bigger ones that we know,

or if we get some orders.

- I mean one of the challenges we have is

continuing to produce

the toboggans with the experience

and with the lack of somebody working hands on

with my dad.

So this year we've added

a couple of people to our team

to help learn the process

and learn and kind of become apprentice.

- You're always going for quality,

something that's gonna

last, and work.

One thing that we're doing that's making

a difference, doing that more

the last few years than in the past was

paying more attention to the moisture of the oak

before we bend it.

You put some toboggans up there that aren't

gonna last or are gonna have faults

and everyone will know of it.

Well there we have it.

[2017 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION] Meet the Candidate #4 Yoo Seong-min - Duration: 10:23.

Yoo Seong-min, presidential nominee for Bareun Party running in South Korea's 2017 presidential

election, thank you for squeezing time out of your absolutely hectic campaigning schedule.

I'm going to be very direct with you.

From an objective point of you, you're not running a very easy race here.

For a whole host of reasons in this country at the moment, it is not an easy time to be

a conservative running in the presidential election.

Why are you running for President of the Republic of Korea?

It is true that conservative politicians in Korea are going through a rough time because

of the recent presidential impeachment.

But, it's also very important that we give hope to the Korean people by showing them

a new way of being conservative.

As the presidential nominee of Bareun Party, I would like to show the Korean people that

there is new hope for the conservatives.

That is why I am running for President this time.

It has long been proven that Korea's progressive politicians cannot build a strong, stable

national security; lack competence in running the economy.

That goes for the candidates running in this year's election as well.

I believe that my policy strategy of being strong on national security and reform-minded

on economic issues is the path conservatives should take in the long term and my run for

the presidential office is the first step toward that direction.

I think I have a winning chance if the majority of the people agree with the new values I've

proposed.

The Korean peninsula at the moment is in the global spotlight.

There's been a rapid escalation of tension in this part of the world.

Continuous provocations by the North Korean regime.

What is your policy pledge vis-a-vis Pyongyang?

And more broadly your foreign or diplomatic policy plan?

The biggest problem when it comes to North Korea is its nuclear and missile program.

If it weren't for the North's nuclear weapons and missiles, the South Korean military could

easily win dominance using conventional weapons.

The grave threat from North Korea stems from the asymmetric threat of nuclear weapons and

missiles.

Therefore, should I become president of this nation, the main focus of my foreign and security

policy will be on the elimination of nuclear weapons.

It's pressure and sanctions rather than dialogue that we need to deal with the North Korean

problem today.

It's not enough for South Korea to act independently in pressuring and sanctioning North Korea.

We must work with the U.S. based on our ironclad alliance and negotiate on common strategies

in dealing with North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

Another very important country is China.

China had been uncooperative and rather lenient in carrying out UN Security Council sanctions

on North Korea until quite recently.

Fortunately, the Trump administration has placed utmost priority on resolving North

Korea's nuclear and missile programs and I believe if the U.S. and South Korea could

together persuade China to join in on pressuring and sanctioning North Korea, it could lead

to resolving the regime's nuclear issue.

We could then corner the North's Kim Jong-un to make the choice of holding on to its nuclear

weapons or face a regime collapse.

When North Korea begins the abandoning process of its nuclear weapons and missiles is when

I'd be willing to start a dialogue or consider economic cooperation with Pyongyang.

What is the first thing you will do as president?

First and foremost, national security.

A crack in national security means life or death.

The nation's economy is on edge as well.

There have rarely been times where we've had crises on both fronts.

Should I become president, I will immediately review and establish the South Korean government's

stance on dealing with North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, its provocations and

meet with U.S. President Donald Trump and reach an agreement on that front.

Then, I will convince the nations surrounding the Korean peninsula including China, Japan,

and Russia to join in on our efforts and focus on getting as many countries on board as possible.

Next is the economy.

The last time we saw an economic crisis of this size was during the 1997 financial crisis.

Therefore, I will concentrate on overcoming the economic crisis.

I will spend the first year to year and a half of my term solving these two problems.

As soon as there is some stability on those fronts, I will carry out fundamental reforms

on long overdue issues such as low growth, low birthrate, and economic polarization.

This is my blueprint.

The Korean economy is at a point where we need to be concerned about both growth and

welfare.

But, of the major presidential candidates, I'm the only one with a balanced concern for

both growth and welfare.

Liberty Korea Party's candidate's pledge is an outdated policy centered on conglomerates;

candidates from the Democratic Party and People's Party only highlight welfare and distribution.

What the Korean economy needs at this point is a recovery momentum for growth.

That momentum will come from entrepreneurial thinking and innovation at SMEs, startups,

and venture firms.

It's what I call innovative growth and it has everything to do with startups, entrepreneurship,

cutting red tape, small and mid-sized enterprises, and science and technology.

The success will depend on how consistent and persistent the president pushes forward

with the plan.

On the other hand, I always emphasize growth while sharing.

Polarization, inequality, unfair practice are serious problems not only to the Korean

society but to the economy as well.

We've gotten to the point where we are concerned whether this country as a nation can even

create a single community.

In order to solve these issues, we must break free of this conglomerates-centered economic

system and help SMEs and startups prosper.

Another big concern in Korea today are temporary jobs in the labor market; disparity and disproportionality

in education and child welfare based on income; and social welfare.

The key to my idea of new conservative politics lies on how much the new government can make

and push forward with policies that address these problems; policies for the average,

ordinary people struggling everyday to make their ends meet.

So, should I become President, I plan to implement balanced policies promoting both growth as

well as welfare.

Why does the Republic of Korea need Yoo Seong-min as president in 2017?

This is a new era for the Republic of Korea.

The core value of this new era is stated in Article 1 of the Constitution: The Republic

of Korea shall be a democratic republic.

I envisage a just society and a warm community.

The reason I've been in politics is because I believe in creating a community where there

is no disparity, no prejudice between the have's and have-not's.

I believe in reviving our economy, picking up our recovery momentum, resolving the low

birthrate, creating a just and fair society where there is no more beneficiaries of corruption

like ex-President Park's longtime friend, Choi Soon-sil.

Achieving a fair, just and equal society, finding the most important value there; creating

a warm community and above all, fostering leaders that uphold the Constitution and abide

by the laws and overcoming the economic and security crises.

These are things that I am confident I can do better than any other running in this election.

Charting new path, new hope not only for the conservatives, but

for all of the Korean people.

Absolutely.

That is my conviction.

I strongly believe in new hope for the conservatives and when conservatives change, the entire

nation can change.

Therefore, if I could become new hope for the healthy conservative, I can become new

hope for the Republic of Korea.
