You are a problem solver! - Walter Bond | TB#34 - Duration: 3:19.

You are

a problem

solver.

Hi! My name is Andrew

and welcome to Today's Brainwork where we start every single day with an idea

or a quote.

And today we have actually a quote

which I've heard from Walter Bond.

You are a problem solver.

Now.

What is

a problem solver?

It's actually a mindset.

Now, this is the mindset that can be used both

in your life

and in your business.

If I remember correctly

Walter actually used it

for business purposes

but

because

this is what business is about

about

solving problems.

If you solve someone's problem

you give them a value

and

they give you value back in

terms of money or

bargain or whatever.

Now.

In relations

actually, in your life more than relationships, in your life

you should also be a problem solver

and

I think this is

one of those things that are

going to be

just easier for guys

because

women and men think differently

and

guys are

more strict and

let's say less imaginative when

is coming to

thinking.

Actually I have an example

let's say the girl

says that she's cold

and she's alone with the guy.

There is a very huge possibility that she just want to be hugged.

But the guy

wants to give her

his coat.

Because she's cold.

This is her

logical thing that she said.

Now.

How beeing a problem solver can help you in your life?

Well.

I think

we make a very

big mistake

because

many of us

go to work and work in big, great companies

where we

use all these methods to create our goals and

achieve them

and then we come back home and we don't use the same things to improve our life.

So yeah.

Quote for today is

You are

a problem solver!

English Lesson - How to talk about being sick - Part 1 - Duration: 11:17.

Okay, so today we're going to be talking about stick vocabulary because actually I am sick right now

I'm just getting over my cold and

So you can probably hear that in my voice?

So that inspired me to teach you about

Six vocabulary

specifically for a

Cold or a flu

So we can say that you catch a cold

Okay, you don't catch a flu you catch a cold

so what happened to me is I caught a cold and

It's not a good thing or you could get the flu pretty much means the same thing

When someone says it's going around

This means that the sickness is spreading

Many people are getting sick

So it's really common for people to say oh

Yeah, it's going around

Actually, I said that at my work the other day. I went in and

a lot of teachers were sick and

I said oh, yeah

It's going around it being the cold the cold is spreading to almost everybody

And that always happens every season

Now if you say, I feel under the weather I

Feel under the weather. This is not stick yet if you if you say, I

Feel under the weather

it means

You are starting to feel sick

You don't feel very well, but you're not exactly sick you just don't feel a hundred percent great

As you normally do you feel a little bit tired Maybe you start to get a little bit of a headache

So that's feeling under the weather. It's not sick yet. It's

Just is how you feel when you're starting to get sick?

If you say, I'm not feeling well

This is saying. I am sick, so if you have to call in to [work]

You can tell them I'm sick, or I'm not feeling well

I can't come in today

and

you would get what we call a sick day a

Sick day is a day when you don't go into work because you're too sick to go

So you can tell them I'm not feeling well

and then

When someone tells you that you're sick that when someone tells you that they are sick you should say I

Hope you get well soon

It's a common phrase to say get well soon, but if you're specifically talking to the person face-To-face

Then you would say, I hope you get well soon. If you're sending a message or a text

It's common to just say get well soon

So this means that we hope for a fast recovery that they won't be sick for a long time

And they will feel better very quickly

so

our next word is contagious a

Flus and colds are contagious now what that means is

it can spread from one person to another so

If you have a cold, then you are contagious

Someone else can get your cold, so you want to avoid

being in contact with people

You know just be careful that you don't spread the cold because it is contagious

And you don't want anyone else getting sick

now

the last one is

soothe

sore throat

There should be a soothe a sore throat

So a sore throat is when you feel sick

Here you feel something bad in here, and I have that that's why my voice isn't so clear

and

if you have a sore throat

You want it to feel better so we can

Drink hot liquids. You know like like hot tea or we can

Drink honey so that we can make it feel better

that means soothe to soothe and

relax the throat

So you can soothe your sore throat

Okay, so that's for our phrases and we're moving on to symptoms

symptoms are the things that you feel when you're sick, and we have a long list here of

The different symptoms that you can get when you have a cold or the flu

so

If you say, I feel stuffy that means that

you can't breathe through your nose and

It's not so easy sometimes you can't breathe at all through your nose

and you [have] to breathe through your mouth if you're feeling very stuffy and

yeah, then you you have to blow your nose and

it can be really hard to breathe uh

This is the same as congested. It's

When you feel stuffy inside your nose, but it can also kind of be that

Stuffiness inside your head, which is kind of what I have now. It's where you know

When you get a cold, and you just you can't think very clearly

you you think very slowly and it's

it just makes life so much more difficult because

You you're so slow and everything is not clear. So you're you're congested. I

Hate that feeling I think that's one of the worst feelings is being congested

So that's similar to feeling stuffy feeling stuffy is just in your nose congested can be your nose

sinuses and

Of course your head

so the next is

feeling fatigue

Fatigue is when you feel

Very tired because you're sick. There's no reason why you feel tired or exhausted

It's just because you're sick and I had this just yesterday. I went to the mall [and] I was walking around and

just like

15 minutes of Walking made me feel so

fatigued I

had to sit down and rest and just breathe so I was feeling very fatigued yesterday and

It's a terrible feeling. It's just basically

feeling tired or not having the energy [that] you normally have it's

A real lack of energy is feeling fatigued

Next is fever

fever is an awful thing a fever is when you have a temperature, so

you can check your temperature in your ear or you can put a

Thermometer in your mouth or you can check your forehead and if you're hot

if your forehead is hot

You have a fever

when you have a fever

Other people will feel your head and say that you're hot or they can feel your arm and you feel hot

But normally when you have a fever you feel cold

Even though your body is actually hot so that's a fever

This is what I had yesterday

dry eyes

so dry eyes is when your eyes don't have any water or any liquid in them, and

it's kind of hard to see you know you blink a lot and

the worst thing to do is to go into the air conditioning because

Ac the air from the Ac will make your eyes feel even drier and

It's very uncomfortable

The opposite of that is watery eyes or teary eyes

that's when

you're feeling sick and

Liquid or water. It's just tears we call them tears are just coming out of your eyes and

That happens to actually when I was think I woke up with watery eyes and later

You know I woke up with tears coming out of my eyes and then later

When I went into the air conditioning my eyes were very dry and there were there was no water at all

so

the next we have sinus infection an

Infection can be anywhere in the body, but we're going to focus on the sinuses the sinuses is in

Your nose and it also connects to your ears

So when you feel something some something bad around here

that's when you have a sinus problem now a sinus infection is when

you're your stuffy your congested, but

it's there's like a bad smell inside your sinuses and

When you have this and you try to eat food food doesn't taste right?

You can't taste food anymore. All you can you either taste nothing, or you taste that?

awful infection

Taste in your mouth that will not go away

that's in it a sinus infection and even if you drink you might not feel you might not taste the

drink or

Even taste the food that you're trying to eat

So you could be eating your favorite food and it tastes absolutely terrible

#AskMeOnMonday Episode 5 | My Two Biggest Lessons of 2017 - Duration: 10:22.

Hey guys, I'm Angeline from Peer Business

Consulting and this is #AskMeOnMonday.

So this week I wanted to do

something a little bit different from

previous videos. Instead of answering

a question from a business owner, I

wanted to talk to you guys about a

personal challenge that I've recently

been facing and talk to you

about my realizations and

lessons that I've learned from this

challenge and how I'm dealing

with it and handling it going forward.

Now I know that I have some clients who

have actually been through this before.

And if this applies to you

as well then I hope this video resonates

for you. And if it does that you can pick

up some tips along the way. And if

nothing else, just for you to know that

you're not alone in your struggles as a

business owner and that all of us face

struggles from time to time. So let's get

into it.

For those of you who know me well,

you'll probably have noticed that I've

been fairly stressed lately.

I've had a fair bit on - I've got

a bunch of clients that I'm trying to

manage, I've got a bunch of new

products that I'm launching, as

well as the normal commitments that most

of us have, including family,

friends, health and fitness,

sleep - all those things. But when I really

sat down to think about where my stress

was coming from, I realized that actually

being busy wasn't the issue. In fact

busyness tends to motivate me and it's

actually something I normally thrive on.

What it is, is worry over my cash flow

situation. Now I'm sure a lot of you have

just heard that and gone "Aha! Ange, I hear

you!" Because it's such a

typical business problem that

many of us face, particularly in your

first few years of business, which I am

in. So yes we are talking about that

dreaded issue of lumpy cash flows, which

is exactly what I'm going through right

now. I suppose for me it's a little

bit of a shock to the system.

Number one because I'm a coach and I

talk about you know so many ways to

avoid this very situation, so I guess I

should know better. But number two

because I came from a corporate

background so I've always had - I've been

lucky enough to have - fairly

high paying jobs. Money has

never really been an issue. So

this is actually the first time in my

life I am facing

financial pressures. So I'm actually

going to drill down for you what the

last two and a half, two and

three-quarter years have looked like for

me in my business. So I am laying it all

on the line and I'm being completely

transparent to you. So here is what my

cash flows year-by-year looked like for

the last two and three-quarter years.

You can see from the chart that my year

1 revenues were pretty low, but I

wasn't worried at that stage because

I knew I was starting up a new

business so I had a bunch of savings

that I was going to use as my

startup capital. And I didn't

have an expectation that I'd be earning

much in the first year, simply because no

business ever does really. So that was

the first year. Now the second year I had

a bumper year. You can see I'm

almost $150 k in sales revenue

and that was a fantastic year.

My name was getting out there, I had a

massive increase in new

clients. I had a few clients

that were giving me a lot of repeat

business, which was fantastic. I

had a lot of activity happening - I was

writing blogs, I was networking. Great

year. And then year 3 came along.

Basically I began the year with a

family holiday and the holiday

was fairly challenging for various

reasons. I get as a result of that I

came back and I went into a little bit

of a depression. And nothing I

did could snap me out of

that feeling of depression, so I'd lost

motivation to do much work with the

business, I wasn't really networking

much. The clients that I'd been

servicing had a little bit of a low

period as well but generally I wasn't

really looking for the work. So as a

result, the first half of 2016/2017

wasn't great and didn't look good for me

revenue wise. So then 2017 calendar year

began and I was lucky enough to have

another holiday - this time in Mexico - and

this was a happy holiday. I had a wonderful

time, and I got back with a new lease of

life, the depression had seemed to pass,

and I was really excited to finish 2017

financial year with a bang. However

this was a case of the

external market having an

adverse effect on my business and what

happened was that my two biggest clients that

I had relied on for work we're having a

fairly slow year themselves so as a

result of this over-reliance I guess I

was in a pretty bad predicament.

So this has basically now forced to me to

sit down and really look at

what went wrong, what should I have done

to avoid the situation and what lessons

have I learned as a result of this

situation. I worked out that there are

two main reasons why this has all

happened -1) is that I've almost

depleted my savings buffer and

2) is that I'm relying at the moment (or

I have been relying) on one or two

clients for almost 90% percent of my

revenues. So how to fix this going

forward and prevent it from happening

again? So the first thing is to "make hay

while the sun shines". Now i know that's a

cliche but what I mean by it is this

idea of a savings buffer. I advocate

this to all startups that I advise

that you need to have access to funds in

case of economic or financial downturn.

This basically means some savings,

or some borrowings or maybe even friends

and relatives that you can draw money

from if need be. Now it should be

available fairly quickly when and if you

need it, and it should be for a fairly

lengthy period of time. I had this

but because I was not

earning enough income for almost nine

months I guess what had happened is the

buffer wasn't enough to sustain me

over this whole period so where I've

made my mistake in this last year has

been that number one I probably got a

little bit too cocky in year 2 and

didn't put aside enough savings in

that year when i was having a

good year. And the second

thing was that I didn't I guess envisage

that I would have nine months of

hardship. This was probably a

lot longer than I expected so

what I'd say there is assume

the worst and make sure that you have a

few options in regards

to funds that you can draw on.

The second

way to prevent this from happening again

is to ensure that you have diversified

your income sources. In my case

I've been relying on one or two

clients for most of my income.

There's actually three ways you can

diversify income. 1) is to diversify

your clients, so that means have

a number of clients

on which you can rely for income

not just one or two like I was.

The second way is to diversify your

products and services so what that

means is to have a range of different

types of products and different types of

services that if one particular product

or service isn't selling at a particular

time due to whatever factors you can

rely on the others to still bring in

income for you. And the third way to

diversify is to have a

variety of both active and passive

income sources. Passive income

is income that's coming in that doesn't

require any extra time or resource

effort from yourself or your staff.

I'm sure that I will come out of my cashflow funk

very soon. I've got a range of

products I'm looking to launch which

will go a long way to increasing my

passive income. I'm also reviewing my

product and service offering in general

to make sure that I'm spending

time and effort in the areas that have

the highest earning potential. And also

I'm heightening my sales and

marketing efforts so as to win new

business and reduce reliance on my top

two clients. So lots happening.

I do hope that today's video has been useful for

you and you've had a bit of a

look into my personal situation.

And I guess it tells you that even business

consultants don't always get it

right for themselves and

we all struggle. But the key is not

to let it get you down - at least for too

long! - review what's happened, try

and assess where the issues are,

make a plan and then stick to the plan.
