Hey guys, Maxim here.

The doppler skin is a marbleized skin which comes in many different colors.

To me it's one of the most interesting skins cause there's so many different

finishes for it.

The doppler "family" is so big, it consists out of grades.

The three grades are Mythical, Legendary & Ancient.

There's a high chance you'll recieve a mythical skin, a medium chance for legendary, and a

very low for ancient.

If we start with the first grade, the Mythical grade skins, this is where we find the original

doppler series and the gamma doppler series.

There are 4 differents skin phases for both these series.

A phase is a mixture of different colors.

First i'm going to show you all the phases for the original doppler series.

Here's how the different phases look on my knife with close enough values.

You can get one of these by opening a case which has the original doppler skins, for

example, the Spectrum case.

Now if we look at the gamma doppler series, here's how the different phases look with

again, approximate values.

And you can get these by opening a case which has the gamma doppler skins.

I can't tell you how much they are worth cause it obviously depends on the market.

So that's the Mythical grade, now let's move on to the Legendary grade.

The legendary grade has 3 doppler skins, aka Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald.

Ruby & Sapphire are from the original doppler series.

To get one of these you would need to open a case which has the original doppler skins

and to get an Emerald you would need to open a

case that has the GAMMA doppler skins.

As I said before, these knives are worth a lot more than mythical skins cause they're

harder to get.

So, what's next?

Now let's talk about the final grade.

The ancient grade has one doppler skin called Black Pearl.

It's the only knife skin classified as Ancient.

Which means, it's the most rare knife skin of the whole game.

To get one of these you would need to open a case which has the original doppler skins,

that is if you're very lucky to get one.

There's also a newer version of the Black Pearl for the newer knives.

Here's a factory new bowie knife Black Pearl.

So that's my Doppler Skin guide.

Hope you learned something new, I'll see you guys soon but in the meantime

go bananas.

Hi, I'm Tyler Thimmesch and this week is all about inventions on Now You Know Nebraska!

(music)

There may be only one inventor ever who became a famous photographer,

explored shipwrecks, won an Oscar and was a Nebraskan!

Doc Edgerton, better known as Papa Flash, was born in Fremont and raised in Aurora, Nebraska.

Edgerton helped develop and refine a stroboscope or strobe light,

to capture a different look at objects while using both film and still photography.

His work became instrumental in developing sonar technology

that helped search the sea floor for shipwrecks,

and even attempt to locate the famous Loch Ness Monster of Scotland.

In 1940, his short film "Quicker'n a Wink" won an Oscar Award.

(film sound)

The Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora is named in Papa Flash's honor.

The National Geographic Society named this famous Nebraskan

one of the 15 most influential inventors of the 20th century.

This week was all about inventors and inventions.

To wrap up the week, let's feature some other amazing creations

that came to life in our great state.

Edwin Perkins invented Kool Aid in Hastings in 1927.

An engineer at Union Pacific in Omaha came up with the idea for a ski lift in 1936.

The first locking pliers, called vise grips, were invented in Dewitt, Nebraska in 1924.

And while Haleyville, Alabama holds a 9-1-1 festival every year

to celebrate being the location of the first 911 call,

they have Lincoln, Nebraska to thank for the invention of the emergency phone system!

Thank you for joining us this week on Now You Know Nebraska!

Did you know a hospital in our state is one of very few in the country

built to treat and even cure people afflicted with the most dangerous diseases on the planet?

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha has a biocontainment unit,

which allows them to treat people who are infected with deadly diseases.

One of those is the Ebola virus.

In 2014, a doctor who had been working in West Africa and became infected

was treated at Nebraska Medicine and released less than a month later.

You might wonder what keeps doctors and nurses safe while treating these patients?

The unit was created so that all the air flow remains in the patient room

and ultraviolet lights help zap any viruses or bacteria on the surfaces.

Hospital staff also always wear personal protective gear.

It's one of the best facilities in the world, right here in our state!

Hi I'm Tyler Thimmesch, and it's time for today's Now You Know Nebraska!

(music)

You've heard of wind sailing, but did you know that one inventor

wanted to wind sail across the plains of Nebraska?

In 1860, Samuel Peppard wanted to develop a method of transportation

that could carry freight easier and faster than by horse carriage.

His idea was to use the whipping wind of the Midwest as the engine on his "Wind ship".

In May of 1860, Peppard and his crew left Oskaloosa, Kansas

with 500 pounds of goods, headed on the Oregon Trail across Nebraska.

The ship was extremely hard to control, even going airborne during the trip.

It reached speeds of up to 15 miles an hour.

Peppard got within 100 miles of Denver, Colorado before

his wind ship was demolished by a small tornado.

The wind ship craze never caught on, probably because of the 21 days on Peppard's trip,

twelve of them were spent working on repairs.

Dexter's Story - Duration: 2:01.

Our first interaction with Dexter's

parents came before Dexter was even born.

We told them that the odds were less

than fifty percent that he would

probably survive and we asked their

permission to give it a shot.

As things started to progress one of the OB's

came in and he looked at how things were

going said this is it. We're going to do a C-section.

We then took him to

the NICU and started resuscitation.

I was terrified as Dexter was being born

because I just I knew so little about

what is possible with a baby who was

born at 23 weeks.

I didn't think before I was even in labor that that was

a baby that could survive.

Being in an NICU is

like a roller coaster ride and Dexter had

some ups and downs in his care.

And slowly as he started to get better and better

we started becoming more reassured that

it really was going to be okay.

It turns out the doctors were right.

The level of care that a baby receives

will determine how that baby does for

the rest of his life.

There are lots of studies that show that

babies born at the highest level centers

have a much better outcome so if you're

going to have a premature baby you

really want to have a premature baby at

a high level center like the University of Iowa.

I don't think there's a worse

thing for a parent to experience than

having a child that could die or is so sick but

we're really lucky that it happened here

in Iowa and that we have Dexter.

Seeing Dexter now is a highlight of my career

actually. I saw his mom and she showed me

a picture of him looking like a

beautiful happy baby and I said wow,

you just made my day and she came back

with well, you guys made my life.

A Special Wish for the Tooth Fairy - Duration: 3:57.

For this normal 10-year-old who was athletic and

active in riding her bike and rip-sticking and running and jumping. She

wasn't wanting to do any of it

and there was quite a bit of pain and limping and

you know for a 10-year-old kid to act like a 78 year old lady we knew it

wasn't right.

So they ordered an MRI and on June 7 we had an MRI done in Dubuque

and they stopped in the middle and administered a contrast dye.

They called us that night and told us they thought it was a syrinx

but they thought it was so big that it went the whole length of her spinal cord

and that they wouldn't touch it in Dubuque so they sent us to Iowa City.

So we met with Dr. Menezes on June 12th.

Dr. Menezes told us down here that, that she had cancer.

He told us that we could go and get another opinion

but if we didn't do anything in

less than three weeks she would be paralyzed from here down.

There was something deep down in our core that we just knew that he had to

be the one to do this

and so we just said whatever it is that has to happen we

we want you to do it and she had a surgery on June 20th.

She's doing very well today.

September 30th she had three teeth pulled out

I said well you got three teeth here. Boy you're gonna be making out big time

with the Tooth Fairy here. So I went into her room after she was asleep and

I found this note and

just blown away by this young lady because

she came from not knowing if she would ever walk again

to the place where she's at today and this note

just said that she wanted to give this money to kids that had the same kind of

cancer that she had.

Jackie came down here with eighty-six dollars. Tooth fairy money

and her birthday was October 7 and all the money she got for her birthday

she donated as well.

I just want kids to know that there's hope in having cancer and

I want kids that have this kind of cancer, that they will be able to be like

know that there's research and they know more about it.

Just that little difference will help a lot of people

and what they're struggling with.

The University of Iowa Children's Hospital

changed our lives. It's different down here.

When you're at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital

you feel like you're part of the medical team. You're part of the decision making team.

It's different when you go to your local hospital because you

have a doctor talking to you about this is what your

daughter has, this is what needs to happen. But when you get down here you

actually have a voice at the University of

Iowa Children's Hospital and you become part of that family.

We believe that Dr. Menezes and Iowa City saved her life

and gave her the best chance at a normal life.

If you have a life-changing illness

and you can't find answers anywhere else,

the University of Iowa Children's Hospital

is the place to go to.

UI Children's Hospital saved my life.

It's time to learn about another inventor on Now You Know Nebraska!

(music)

Did you know a farmer from Columbus

created one of the most significant agriculture inventions of all time?

In 1947, Frank Zybach came up with an idea

that would make it easier for farmers to water their crops.

At that time, farmers would lay heavy pipes in their fields to provide water when needed.

Zybach invented the first center pivot system,

in which equipment rotates around a pivot and crops are watered with sprinklers.

In his first two years, Zybach only sold 19 systems.

Now there are more than 400,000 of them in use all over the world.

Current systems even use computers and GPS to ensure

the right amount of water is perfectly distributed across a field.

They also make really cool and lush green crop circles,

which U.S. astronauts can even spot from space!

Dexter's Story - Duration: 5:23.

So when we found out that we were pregnant and expecting, we were absolutely excited.

It was exactly what we could dream of.

That was our reality for three months, and just planning, and then overnight, all of

the sudden, all of that was in jeopardy because I went into labor

right in the middle of the pregnancy.

And it was too early, it was 20 weeks.

Our first interaction with Dexter's parents came before Dexter was even born.

We told them that the odds were less than 50% that he would probably survive and we

asked their permission to give it a shot.

As things started to progress, one of the OBs came in and they looked at how things

were going and they said, this is it.

We're gonna do a C-section.

And within minutes I was out the door and into the operating room and the neonatology

group was in there.

The room was filled with people.

We then took him into the NICU and started resuscitation.

He received a surfactant, which is a very important chemical for premature babies, it

opens up their lungs.

I was terrified when Dexter was being born because I just, I knew so little about what is possible

with a baby who is born at 23 weeks.

I didn't think before I was in labor that that was a baby that could even survive.

There's lots of things that can go wrong.

The first thing we worry about is intraventricular hemorrhage, bleeding in the brain.

We were all very happy when his ultrasound of his brain on, after a week of age showed

he didn't have an intraventricular hemorrage.

Having Dexter in the NICU put our entire life completely on hold.

Really it was just all we could do to get through each day, especially in the beginning.

Being in an NICU is like a roller coaster ride and Dexter had some ups and downs and

scares.

I tell the parents that the baby is the boss and I just have to listen to them and give

them what they need.

And slowly, as he started to get better and better, we started becoming more reassured

that it really was going to be ok.

And at that point, one of the doctors said to my husband, you know you're going

to be taking home a normal child from this NICU.

And it turns out the doctors were right.

His dad reminded me all the things I said when he was first born.

How I thought he was going to do ok, how I was expecting a great outcome, and when he

was going home, the dad said, I really didn't understand why you would lie to me

that first day and we weren't lying.

He went home a very happy, beautiful baby.

So now we have a 15 year-old, a 14 year-old, an 11 year-old, and Dexter's 3.

And he's just one of the crowd.

He goes to preschool and he's making friends and talks about what he does at school.

He paints paintings and he's just becoming a fun, vivacious, fiery little three year-old boy.

The new children's hospital will allow all infant and children services to be available

in a single area, a comprehensive area.

I think it will let us have services that all the parents can enjoy together, rather

than having specialized services and specialized parts of the hospital.

When this new children's hospital opens, parents will have one place that is all about kids.

I don't think there's a worse thing for a parent to experience than having a child that

could die or is so, so sick.

I don't think there's anything worse.

But we're really lucky that it happened here in Iowa.

And that we have Dexter.

Seeing Dexter now is, is a highlight of my career actually.

We worked so hard.

He was one of our first 23-weekers.

He was a baby who things could have gone either way.

That's what happens when you push the envelope.

But he ended up doing so well.

I saw his mom last year at the March of Dimes and she showed me a picture of him looking

like this beautiful happy baby and I said wow, you just made my day.

And she came back with, well you guys made my life.

I thought that was really a touching comment for her to make.

Eye Infections Treatment ❤ How to Treat Eye Infection Naturally - Duration: 4:16.

Eye Infections Treatment ? How to Treat Eye Infection Naturally

Your eyes can become infected by a variety of different viruses, fungi, and bacteria.

Each contaminant causes different afflictions, but eye infections typically show signs of

irritation or pain, redness or inflammation, fluid discharge, and reduced visual capabilities.

Contaminants may infect one or both eyes, and may lead to loss of vision or blindness.

The most common eye infections are conjunctivitis, sty, and allergy-related infections.

If you experience pain or reduced vision, see a doctor immediately.

If your infection is mild, there are a number of home remedies that can reduce the symptoms

of your eye infection.

1 Understand what conjunctivitis is.

Pink eye, or conjunctivitis, is highly infectious.

The two main types of conjunctivitis are bacterial and viral, and both are typically spread by

hand-to-eye contact or sharing contact items like pillows or eye makeup.

Your doctor may prescribe antibiotics for bacterial conjunctivitis, but unfortunately,

antibiotics will be useless in treating viral conjunctivitis.

The virus simply has to run its course, which usually takes between two and three weeks.

The best way to naturally treat pink eye is to treat the symptoms.

This will lesson your discomfort and help you regain some control over how you feel.

Viral conjunctivitis is typically caused by adenoviruses, picornaviruses, rubella, rubeola,

and herpes viruses.

Bacterial conjunctivitis is typically caused by staphylococcus, haemophilus, streptococcus,

and moraxella.

It is often spread by contact with fecal bacteria.

2 Identify symptoms of conjunctivitis.

The most common side effects of conjunctivitis are redness , itchiness, discharge that forms

a crust over the eyelids while sleeping, and a persistent feeling of grittiness or irritation.

3 Apply a compress.

Try cold and warm water compresses (but not too hot) to determine what works best for

you.

Run a clean washcloth or hand towel under the faucet.

Start with cool water, as this is generally considered the most soothing option.

Wring out the towel.

Apply to the eye or eyes, depending on the extent of your conjunctivitis.

Lie down and let the cold compress sit on your eye(s) for as long as necessary until

the pain and irritation subside, rewetting as needed.

4 Use lubricating eyedrops.

Though over-the-counter eyedrops won't treat the infection, they may help reduce redness

and irritation.

Follow the instructions for how often to apply lubricating eyedrops.

Wash your hands before and after touching the area around your eyes.

Lie on your back before applying eyedrops.

Squeeze one drop at a time into the affected eye or eyes.

Close eyes immediately after application, and keep them closed for approximately two

to three minutes.

5 Avoid wearing contact lenses.

Contacts can trap conjunctivitis against the eyes and prolong the symptoms of this infection.

Throw away any disposable contacts that have come in contact with infected eyes.

6 Practice good hygiene.

Anyone can get pink eye at any stage in life.

It's nothing to be embarrassed about.

The most important thing is preventing its spread, and preventing it from happening again.

Wash your hands with soap and warm water often.

This is especially important to do prior to touching your face or eyes.

Do not share makeup products, washcloths, or face towels.

Throw away any cosmetic items and disposable contact lenses that may have been infected.

Wash any bedding that may have come in contact with your face during a conjunctivitis outbreak.
