example uploading, as it requires us to trust the person completely.

But all of these and more are options.

So now, if any of these interest you, we have created a new discord server to keep everything

Women's Equality Day 2017: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know - Duration: 9:00.

Women's Equality Day 2017: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

26 marks Women's Equality Day, which remembers the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. One-hundred and forty-three years after the U.S. was founded, the right to vote was no longer limited by gender.

Today, #WomensEqualityDay has been trending on Twitter. Although it celebrates the day women were finally granted the right to vote, it reminds us that there is still so much to fight for. Here is a look at Women's Equality Day.

Women's Equality Day Was First Recognized by Congress in 1971 & Every President Since Has Issued a Presidential Proclamation. but it only gives the President authority to issue a proclamation. It didn't make it a federal holiday.

Every president since Richard Nixon has followed through with the proclamation. President Donald Trump issued his proclamation on August 25.

"My Administration is committed to fostering an economy where all women can succeed and thrive," Trump's proclamation reads. "We must prioritize the needs of working mothers and families, including access to affordable childcare.

Therefore, for the first time in the history of this country, my budget proposes a national paid family leave program.

Our working families must be able to provide and care for their children without fear of financial insolvency, to strengthen our communities and drive a booming economy.".

Over 3,000 Women Ran for Elected Office in the 50 Years Before Women Got the Right to Vote.

Although women were not allowed to vote, there was nothing stopping them from running for office. According to Her Hat Was In The Ring, a database created by Dr.

Jill Norgren and Dr. Kristen Gwinn-Becker, 3,586 women ran in 4,927 campaigns before women got the right to vote in 1920.

The database provides a fill list of all these women, as well as short biographies for each of them. The researchers believe that over 4,000 women ran for office and they hope to catalog them all.

The database shows that women ran for just about every office imaginable, from town sheriff to state treasurer to judge to President before they could vote.

According to their research, the first women elected to office in the U.S. were Marietta Patrick and Lydia Hall. They were both elected to the Ashfield, Massachusetts School Board in 1855.

Jeannette Pickering Rankin Became the First Woman Member of Congress in 1916.

The first woman elected to Congress was elected four years before women got the right to vote. Jeannette Pickering Rankin (1880-1973) was elected to represent one of Montana's two at-large districts.

To date, she remains the only woman to represent the state in Congress. While in Congress, she voted against the U.S. joining World War I and supported prohibition.

She also fought for child protection legislation. During her campaign, she pushed issues important to women's rights, but also understood the need to support local labor and farming issues.

Rankin only served two terms, but they were separated by over 20 years. After losing re-election in 1918, she returned to Congress in 1941.

When she returned, she continued her pursuit of world peace, even becoming the only member of the House to vote against declaring war on Japan after Pearl Harbor. She was not re-elected in 1942. Rankin died in 1973 at age 92.

The First Woman to Run for President Was New York's Victoria Woodhull in 1872. The first woman to run for U.S. president was Victoria Woodhull in 1872.

The Ohio-born Woodhull moved to New York City in 1867 with her sister and the two got the financial backing of the richest man in America at the time, Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt.

With his backing, the sisters pushed for women's rights in their own newspaper and even advocated for sex education.

In 1870, she decided to run for president during the 1872 election. She spoke before the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee about women's suffrage and hoped to change attitudes towards women. She ran as an "Equal Rights" candiate.

However, some historians do not qualify Woodhull as the first woman to run for President because she was too young at the time.

She was born in September 1838, so she would only be 34 at the time of the March 1873 election if she somehow won. The Constitution requires the president to be 35 at the time of the inauguration.

Woodhull died in June 1927 at the age of 88. Susanna Salter, Who Had no Interest in Politics, Became the Country's First Female Mayor Thanks to a Sexist Prank.

The story of Susanna Salter, who became America's first female mayor in 1887 in Argonia, Kansas, is fascinating. She had no real interest in politics and only served the one-year term. She wasn't even on the ballot.

As The Daily Beast's Gil Troy wrote in June 2016, Salter was elected in a sexist prank. Four years earlier, Kansas women got the right to vote.

So the women in Argonia, a Quaker village, joined the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), which fought to make alcohol sales illegal. The group was often derided by men as a joke, but was being taken seriously by the mid-1870s.

Strangely, the WCTU's pro-alcohol rivals wanted to run a WTCU officer for mayor, hoping that WCTU extremists would be the only people to vote for her.

This would show that their group was small and didn't have as much power as they thought. Salter, a wife and mother, was the only WTCU member eligible since she actually lived in Argonia.

This is where the story gets amazing. The morning of election day, Republicans were stunned to see Salter's name on the ballot.

They rushed to her home and asked if she would really serve if she won the election. She said she would and they helped her win.

"All right, we will elect you and just show those fellows who framed up this deal a thing or two," the party leaders told her.

So instead of only getting 20 votes as the pranksters expected, she got a two-thirds majority and became the first female mayor in the U.S.

After Salter's term in office, her family moved to Oklahoma. She lived until 1961, dying at age 101.

Cecilia Abbott, Greg's Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know - Duration: 7:50.

Cecilia Abbott, Greg's Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

exas Governor Greg Abbott, who has been busy handling the state's response to Hurricane Harvey, is married to Cecilia Abbott. Born Cecilia Phalen, she is the first Latina First Lady of Texas since it became a U.S. state.

Abbott and the 55-year-old Cecilia have an adopted daughter, 20-year-old Audrey. You can follow Cecilia on Facebook and on Twitter. Here's what you need to know about Cecilia Abbott. Cecilia & Abbott Married in 1981.

Cecilia and Abbott have been married since 1981. They met while Abbott was studying at the University of Texas, Austin. According to Texas Monthly, Cecilia was a year behind the 59-year-old Abbott when they met.

Cecilia, who was raised in San Antonio, wanted to follow in the footsteps of her parents, who were both middle school teachers. She wanted to go to Texas State University in San Marcos, but ultimately decided to go to UT in Austin.

Abbott and Cecilia married at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio in 1981, the same year Abbott began his studies at Vanderbilt Law School in Tennessee. Cecilia put her studies on hold.

According to her state bio, Cecilia earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of St. She also has Master's degrees in Theology and Education.

Cecilia, a Roman Catholic, taught at several Catholic schools throughout Texas and also served as vice-principal and principal. From 1996 to 2001, she was the principal at the Cathedral School of Saint Mary.

She's also a former member of the State Board for Educator Certification. She also worked at Harden Healthcare until Abbott began his gubernatorial campaign. 3 Years After Their Marriage, Abbott Was Paralyzed in a Freak Accident.

In 1984, three years after their marriage, Abbott suffered a freak accident while jogging with a friend. An oak tree weakened by a storm fell on him, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

As the Dallas Morning News notes, he won an estimated $10 million after suing the property's owner.

In an interview with Texas Monthly, Abbott said their lives are better since the accident since it kick-started his career and inspired him to be more determined to succeed.

"I'll tell you this astonishing fact: Cecilia and I believe our lives are better after the accident than before," Abbott said in 2013. "I think there's a greater appreciation for life.".

Abbott told the Morning News that it was the encouragement from Cecilia and his mother that helped him through the anxiety he felt about his future while in rehab.

"Certainly things get changed and rearranged when you have an injury like this," Abbott said.

"She was instrumental in supporting him in every way imaginable after the accident," Kent Sullivan, a lawyer who worked With Abbott, told the Texas Tribune in 2014. "She was a pillar of strength for him.

It sounds like a cliché, but it really is true.". Cecilia Is the First Latina First Lady Since Texas Became a State.

In a 2014 interview on NBC News' Meet The Press after he won his 2014 election, Abbott said Cecilia will become the first Latina First Lady of Texas. This is, as Politifact points out, true.

Since Texas became a state, no Latina had been First Lady before Cecilia.

Cecilia is the granddaughter of Leonara and Augustine Segura, who both emigrated from Mexico and settled in San Antonio before 1935. Her mother, Maria de la Luz Segura, was born in San Antonio in 1935.

Her father, William Joseph Phalen, was born in Michigan in 1935 to parents of Irish ancestry. Texas was previously a Spanish colony and later became part of Mexico, and there were Hispanic first ladies during these periods of Texas history.

Politifact notes that there were also Hispanic First Ladies during the period when Texas was its own Republic, before it joined the Union.

During the 2014 campaign, Abbott was accused of using Cecilia to help him get Hispanic voters. One Lubbock Democratic legislator was accused of calling Cecilia a "prop," but he denied that claim. They Adopted a Daughter, Audrey.

Abbott and Cecilia have one daughter, 20-year-old Audrey, who is adopted.

According to her LinkedIn bio, Audrey is a public relations intern for Broadcast Music, Inc. in Los Angeles and is studying communications at the University of Southern California. She is expected to graduate in 2019.

Audrey also worked on her father's 2014 campaign. She also interned at Music One Media and W20 Group in Austin.

Pat Mizell, an Abbott family friend, told the Texas Tribune that the couple became involved with an Austin adoption home after adopting Audrey. Cecilia Is the Co-Founder of 'Texanthropy,' an Initiative to Promote Volunteerism in Texas.

Cecilia's focus as First Lady is the Texanthropy Initiative. The promgram promotes volunteerism in the Lone Star state and encourages Texas to help each other out. "Texans are generous by nature. Philanthropy is in our DNA.

As First Lady, I look forward to working with all Texans to bring together the two things that I am most passionate about – Texas and philanthropy," Cecilia said in a statement.

Cecilia is also working with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services on the "Network of Nurture" initiative to help children and families on child welfare. Cecilia also loves classical music and has two dogs, Oreo and Pancake.

Coconut Oil and Lemon Mixture: It Turns Gray Hair Back to Its Natural Color

Gray hairs are a nightmare for many women as they are considered to be the first sign

of aging.

Therefore, women are ready to try anything to cover the gray hairs.

There are many products and hair dyes, which can cover the gray hairs.

However, their effects are only temporary and they come with a vast number of side effects.

First and foremost, you should know that premature graying of hair can be triggered by numerous

health conditions and poor dietary choices.

For instance, this cosmetic issue may be caused by hormonal fluctuations, smoking, pollution,

stress, use of unsuitable hair products, chronic colds, sinusitis, and thyroid disorders.

Moreover, gray hairs may appear as a result of low amounts of melanin.

So, instead of using products full of harsh chemicals, which do more harm than good, you

can try some natural alternatives instead.

The most important thing you should do is consume a healthy and nutritious diet.

Moreover, you can try the following natural remedy which is based on two available and

powerful ingredients.

Coconut Oil and Lemon Mixture

Ingredients: organic coconut oil (the amount will depend

on the length of your hair) 3 teaspoons organic lemon juice, freshly squeezed

Instructions:

You should mix the two ingredients until you get a homogeneous mixture.

Then, apply the mixture to your hair and massage it into your scalp.

Let it act for at least one hour.

Finally, wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Repeat this treatment once a week.

Why is this remedy so beneficial?

The two ingredients used in this remedy are one of the most versatile and beneficial nature

gifts.

Coconut oil is packed with anti-microbial properties, lauric acid, and medium-chain

fatty acids, which can treat and improve the condition of your hair.

Hence, coconut oil can condition the scalp, promote hair growth, strengthen the hair,

treat damaged hair, and reverse gray hair.

Moreover, it can fight dandruff and it leaves the hair smooth and soft.

On the other hand, lemon juice can prevent premature graying.

Due to the vitamin B, vitamin C, and phosphorus content, lemon juice nourishes the hair and

treats the cause of gray hair.

Here's what you never knew about Ally McBeal - Duration: 4:37.

Here's what you never knew about Ally McBeal

OOGA chaka, ooga chaka. Can you believe it's been 20 years since Ally McBeal first hit our screens?.

The legal comedy-drama set in Boston law firm Cage & Fish was an instant hit when it debuted in 1997 and made Calista Flockhart one of the biggest stars in television.

During the show's five season run, Flockhart was joined on screen by an impressive cast that included Jane Krakowski, Portia de Rossi, Robert Downey Jr. , Lucy Liu, Gil Bellows, Dame Edna Everage and Jon Bon Jovi.

To celebrate Ally McBeal's 20th anniversary, we've tracked down some little known facts about the show. ANOTHER ACTRESS CLAIMED SHE WAS OFFERED THE LEAD ROLE.

Bridget Fonda (Jane Fonda's niece) said in 1999 that she was approached to play Ally McBeal but turned it down because she didn't want to do TV.

"David sent the [Ally McBeal] script and offer to me through my agent," Fonda told The Calgary Sun. "I refused to read the script for fear I might really like it. I've never wanted to do TV. I love feature films too much.".

Fonda, who appeared in Jackie Brown and Lake Placid, doesn't regret her decision to pass on the offer though. "I'm not kicking myself for having passed on Ally McBeal, even though it's a huge hit," she said.

"I've been acting long enough to know it could have been a complete dud with me in it. It may work as well as it does because of Calista.". Source:AP.

Bridget Fonda in Lake Placid. LUCY LIU WAS GOING TO PASS ON ALLY MCBEAL.

Lucy Liu originally auditioned to play Nelle but the part was given to Portia de Rossi instead. Kelley was so impressed by Liu though that he specifically wrote the character of Ling Woo for her to play.

But as the actress told Metro, she was initially going to pass on the role to do a play instead,.

"They came back a few weeks later with this guest-star role and at the same time I was being offered a play," she said.

"The TV role was only eight days' work; the play was running for three months and I wanted to do the play because it was more artistic.

But my manager insisted I take Ally McBeal — she told me I was going to pass on the play that time and I was going to do this show, and that was that.

Then, of course, it became such a part of the Zeitgeist and changed my career.".

Cast: Vonda Shepherd, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Gil Bellows, Jane Krakowski, Greg Germann, Portia de Rossi, Peter McNicol and Lucy Liu with Calista Flockhart and Lisa Nicole Carson. WHEN ALLY MCBEAL MET THE PRACTICE.

A few months before he launched Ally McBeal, creator and writer David E. The shows aired on different TV networks but existed in the same universe.

Ally McBeal was wacky whereas The Practice was far more serious, but despite their differences, the two legal shows came together for a crossover episode.

Part one of the crossover episode aired on Fox with the second part of the episode airing an hour later on ABC. Was it a success? Not really according to Tyler Coates from The Decider.

"It was a mismatched pairing for the shows, which had dramatically disparate tones. Bobby and Eugene played it straight when they ended up on Ally McBeal, and Ally was surprisingly poised and professional on The Practice.

It was mostly just a strange experience, as the two episodes didn't fit together very smoothly.".

Calista Flockhart from Ally McBeal with Dylan McDermott from The Practice. THE REAL REASON LISA NICOLE CARSON LEFT THE SHOW. Lisa Nicole Carson had a main role on Ally McBeal playing Renée Raddick for the first four seasons. But then there was an incident.

"I was in New York City catching up with loved ones when I unexpectedly had a fit in my hotel — yelling, throwing things, crying and raising enough hell that the staff called an ambulance," the actress recalled.

"I ended up being hospitalised for a few weeks, and a psychiatrist gave a diagnosis: bipolar disorder. When she was discharged from hospital, Carson returned to work on Ally McBeal but believes her breakdown cost her her job.

"Everybody on the show was wonderful to me, but my contract wasn't renewed for the final season," she said. "Nobody gave me an explanation, but I assumed it had to do with what had happened.

Lisa Nicole Carson as Renee Raddick. THE WEDDING EPISODE THAT NEVER WAS. joined the cast of Ally McBeal just a week after he was released from a substance abuse treatment facility.

The show's ratings had declined in the third season but the numbers increased significantly in the fourth season thanks to the addition of Downey Jr. who played Ally McBeal's love interest, Larry Paul.

Although he was a hit on screen, the actor was still battling his addictions behind the scenes. "I'm probably not the best person to ask about that period," he told The Guardian in 2003 about his time on Ally McBeal.

"It was my lowest point in terms of addictions. At that stage, I didn't give a f**k whether I ever acted again.". Larry Paul and Ally McBeal were meant to get married in the season four finale, but when Downey Jr.

was arrested in 2001 for suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, the actor was fired from the show and the finale was rewritten with the two lovers ending their relationship.

Netflix's Death Note (2017): 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know - Duration: 6:05.

Netflix's Death Note (2017): 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

it comes to the world of anime, there are very few shows that are universally considered fantastic.

One of the most famous series is Death Note, which was a manga that released in back in 2003 that received a 37 episode animated television show in 2006.

Praised by both fans and critics alike, Death Note quickly rose to prominence thanks to its complex characters, dark, twisting story, and fantastic writing.

Now years later, Netflix has decided to create a live action version of the manga that is set to release on August 25. Here's everything you need to know about Netflix's Death Note:.

This Is the First Western Live-Action Adaptatio. Despite being wildly popular, Netflix's Death Note will be the first western live-action adaptation of the source material.

While the movie had been stuck in pre-production for years, it wasn't until the streaming service Netflix and director Adam Wingard joined forces that the movie really started to come together.

The first trailer for Death Note released on March 22, 2017 and it showed off quite a different take on the source material.

Interestingly enough, this is not the first live-action Death Note movie to release around the world. Excluding Netflix's version, there have been a total of five other adaptations of Death Note all of which were made in Japan.

The first, simply titled Death Note, released in 2006 and was part one of a two part film series by director Shusuke Kaneko.

In 2008 a spin off film called L: Change the World was released, and a mini-series followed after in 2016. There has also been a Death Note musical (Yes, really) which was performed in both Japan and South Korea in 2015.

The Characters Have Been Changed to Fit the Western Setting.

One of the most obvious changes that fans noticed is that almost all of the characters have been altered in someway.

With the exception of the demon Ryuk, most of the principle cast have either had their race, look, or general design change in someway.

Light and Misa were the most obviously as the latter was not the preppy, popular honor student and the latter not being a famous model. Director Adam Wingard actually acknowledged and explained this changes in an interview with IGN stating:.

Wingard is a Notable Horror Director. What makes Death Note so interesting is that Netflix decided to bring on a director who has a lot of successful experience within the horror genre.

His most notable film is the clever slasher movie You're Next, but he's also directed The Guest, and segments for The ABCs of Death, V/H/S, and V/H/S 2.

His last movie was the remake of the Blair Witch which was met with mixed reception from fans and critics alike. Given Death Note has some horror themes running through it the selection of Wingard to direct isn't a big surprise.

Just from the brief trailers we've seen it's pretty apparent that Wingard is infusing his horror background not only into the violence, but in the visuals and pacing of scenes. Willem Dafoe's Ryuk is The Most Anticipated Character.

Much of this is thanks to how perfectly DaFoe appears to capture not only the raspy voice of Ryuk, but his personality as well.

Out of all the characters in Netflix's Death Note he appears to be the most faithful to his Japanese counterpart in the anime and manga. Netflix's Death Note Currently Has a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Even though Netflix's Death Note is still a few days away, some critics have already seen the movie when it premiered at this year's San Diego Comic Con.

Out of the 8 critics, Death Note currently sits at a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. Many have noted that issues with the story's direction and how it leans on various cliches found within the genre.

Polygon's Julia Alexander described the film as a "…lazy, unambitious, forgettable movie that lacks any imagination, heart or entertaining values." David Ehrlich of TheWrap noted that Wingard's focus on gore caused issues with the story stating:.

The reviews weren't all bad, however, as IGN's Blair Marnell gave the movie a 7/10. Much of this was thanks to Dafoe's performance as Ryuk and most of the supporting cast.

It's possible for Death Note to bounce back, but it appears that the movie isn't living up to the legendary television show.
