How Gallup Coaches Can Help You Succeed Using CliftonStrengths

[Jacque Merritt, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] What I love is watching people transform over time. So it's interesting, when people get

into coaching, they almost feel that it's a selfish decision.

[Sue Bath, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] I think people have to have coaches in their lives to create excellence.

[Rachel Maglinger, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] So you've gotten this amazing assessment, but it doesn't stop there. You have

to be able to look at that and think about practical application. And sometimes that's hard to do as an individual, because you're still kind of learning

about what Strengths is all about. And I think what a great coach does is help those things come alive for you and really helping you think

about what are things that keep you up at night? What are things that you struggle with? When do you think your Strengths get in the way? How do

your Strengths get more optimized?

[Mike Kinney, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] I help people sort through the challenges that they're facing, think through what's really

causing it as well as what are their goals that they have and what do they want to do. So I get them to think about it and then I provide them a

perspective based on who they are. So it's really thinking about who they are and how they do things naturally anyway. And sometimes their

eyes are just open of yeah, I do that. And they don't even realize that they're doing that all the time. And you just provide a perspective from

outside of the person that they start to see, okay, I've got this in me, I know I can do it, and now I've got some real specific ways of how I can. They

get an opportunity to do something that is already within them and we're just helping them to really highlight it and think about what they do.

[Nancy Oberst, Workplace Consultant, Gallup]We're always asking people to take some action. To do something. To take the first step.

[Cathy DeWeese, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] We talk about goals. We talk about workplace challenges. And, through the

conversation and through some of the questions, they really, it gives them an opportunity to come up with some strategies to try. So now they

move from a space of being stuck to a space of oh, I've got some strategies. I've got a place, I've got some ideas, I've got some suggestions of

things to try, so I can go from this reality into this aspiration.

[Ryan Feagan, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup]I think the coaching that I provide to individuals and teams gives individuals, I think,

permission to really be themselves and have their own, perhaps their own style, their own method, their own ways of achieving particular things. I

believe it empowers them to deploy themselves in the best possible fashion. And I think it also gives them a sense of confidence in how they might

embrace a particular challenge or embrace a particular difficulty and be, well, more intentional in how they can, you know, get stuff done and

be more effective.

They're happier. And, because they're happier, they're more productive. Their quality increases. Their relationships increase. They want to just

be happier, healthier, more productive. It creates that ripple effect of wellbeing in their life. Everything gets better for them.

They quickly discover it's not just for them; that it really spills over into every aspect of their life. So they become better parents, better spouses,

better partners, better colleagues, better leaders, better managers. Watching them kind of step up into their responsibilities with more strength and

more confidence, more power, I think that's what I love about coaching.

You saved my job. You saved my family. No one's ever asked me that before. I've never thought about that before. Thank you for being

honest. Thank you for being direct. I know I'm a better leader. I know I'm a better manager. I know I treat people differently. I know I get better

results.

[Therese Nisbet, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] The reality is when we know who we are, we are just going to be better at what we

do. So when we understand the dynamics of how we get things done or how we foster relationships or how we think, there's just

something magic when we understand who we are. Because it translates, then, into what we do every day. So having those conversations with

people, helping them think through really and truly what it is about them that gives them energy and fulfillment and having them put that into some sort

of practice as they think about what they do every day, that's a fun job.

10 Extremely Rare But Interesting Body Features - Duration: 4:49.

As humans, we are all special in our own ways.

But a small percentage of us are quirkier than the rest.

Do you have a body trait that separates you from the rest?

Check out these 10 really unusual traits!

Screen Verse Presents 10 Extremely Rare But Interesting Body Features

10 Two Different Colored Eyes

Caused by excessive or a lack of melanin, this condition is called heterochromia iridis

and only around 6 out of every 1,000 people are born with it.

Actress Mila Kunis and the late, great singer David Bowie are notable examples.

9 Curly Hair

A funny anomaly is that people with straight hair often wish it were curly,

whereas curly-haired people will often straighten it.

But the latter group should take pride in their natural curls:

cos only around 11% of the world population has it!

8 A Cleft Chin

A trait that is inherited, a dimpled chin is most common among people

of European and Middle Eastern ancestry.

John Travolta has a prominent cleft while Eminem's is more subtle.

7.

Double Eyelashes This unusual body quirk is known as distichiasis

and less than 5% of the population has it.

Elizabeth Taylor was one such lucky individual, and it contributed to her beauty.

For most people, there are no medical complications associated

with it, although a few experience irritation to the

eyes.

Fun bonus fact: dogs can also have double eyelashes!

6.

Photic Sneeze Reflex This unusual condition involves uncontrollable

sneezing in response to bright lights.

It is not well understood why it occurs, but around 18-35% of the population suffers from

it.

How about you?

Does the sun make you sneeze?

5.

Short Sleepers A small percentage of the population possesses

a gene that allows them to need far less sleep than the average person.

More time for late night video games, The effected gene is known as BHLHE41

and former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was one such person who had it.

4.

Blue Eyes Only around 8% of the world's population

possesses baby blues.

This genetic mutation is a lot more recent than you might think.

It is estimated that the first humans with blue eyes emerged between 6,000 and 10,000

years ago.

3.

Super Color Vision Most people have the ability to see around

a million shades of colors, although colorblind people only see around

100,000 shades.

But on the opposite end, people with a condition known as tetrachromacy

can differentiate between 99 million shades of color!

2.

Natural Blond Hair You are not hearing this incorrectly!

While a lot of babies are born blond, for the majority their hair darkens as they

grow up.

As a result, it is estimated that only between 2-16% of the adult population has fair hair,

which means very few of us are actually victims of those tired "dumb blond" jokes.

1.

Red Hair If there are few real blonds in this world,

redheads are even a greater rarity.

Less than 2% of the entire human race is blessed with red hair.

That's Approximately 140 Million People Fun Bonus Fact!

Scotland claims the highest percentage of natural red Hairs.

DECLUTTER WITH ME | 5 things YOU need to get rid of in your closest!❤❤ - Duration: 12:01.

welcome back to my channel my name is ronke and in this video I'm going to be

telling you about five things that you do not need in your closet so well last

week I decided that I had to purge my closet because I don't have that big

closet space so I need to get rid of some things that I don't wear and are

not supposed to be there so I decided to do a video on it too because why not

so number one is clothes that are damaged or torn or have stains that you

don't wear or that you're not supposed to be wearing but they are still in your

closet so I have a some examples that i'm gonna show you guys so the first one

is this shirt I actually got a shirt about two to three years ago the white shirt

and I really feel like it because it has this kind of crop underneath but the

problem with it is that it has this armpit stain that refused to go I don't

know if you can see it yeah I think I I sweat a lot I actually sweat a

lot so I mean most times it's it gets stained when I like sweat and I have not

had time to spot-clean so it's damaged and I'm not gonna

be able to give this out so I'm probably going to trash it or I mean that's

the only thing i can do I'm not going to give somebody else my dress or my top

with this kind of stain so this is number one damage clothes that have stains

get rid of them for your own good you don't need them in your closet

anymore toss them out another one is this black top so when this tops

just came out that the back will be like long and the front will be like

shorts I really really really like this so I like got this black shirt I don't

remember where i got from but not the problem with

cheap material is that when you wash & wear them like twice or thrice

they just stretch for example this shirt wasn't like this when I first got it

and now it's stretched even when i wear it it almost looks like a rag

wear it and I really really like its black but its not

supposed to in my closet anymore not supposed to be wearing this anymore and

again it also has a tear at the back i dont know if you can see that yeah see so I'm

probably gonna give this out because somebody might still actually actually

really like it so this is supposed to be in my closet so it is going out another one is almost

like the black shirt this one when I first got since it was not as wide as

this it cant even stay on the hanger anymore see so it's like stretched after

washing it just stretched so bad so I also can't wear this anymore so this is going

out too another example of damage clothes that i still have in my closet

is this leather jacket this was one of my first actually leather jacket that

i had and it was like really really nice and i really really really liked it

and its made of cheap material so look at this it's peeling i dont know of you can see that

everything is peeling off like the old leather is peeling off and

actually it started peeling from just under here and i still used to manage to wear it

because I really like it and it fitted me really good but now its peeling

all over and there is nowhere no way I can wear this anymore

outside without looking like a mad person but I really like them there's

nothing I can do because nobody's gonna wear this so I'm going to have to trash

this and just trash it actually so this is also going out so another one is

clothes that you have in your closet that still have tags on them that you havent

worn like if you still have clothes in your closet that you still have the tags on them

that you havent worn for about weeks or months

except you're keeping it for a special occasion for if not youre probably not going to

wear that cloth again i promise you so if you have something on your closet that the tag is still

on it and it is not it is not moving from

where you hung it please take it out take it out it shouldn't be there

no take it out so my example is this suit someone got it for me I really really

liked the material and everything it looks really nice and corporate but

it wasn't my perfect size it's it's a little bit when i wear it i look like a potatoe

because it's not that it's not a fitted on me and it still has the

tag on it yeah and I really like that me keeping in mind was I thinking I was

probably gonna wear it sometime or probably to wear the pants sometime or like slim

fit it or something but i havent it has just being in my closet i havent worn it i havent

torched it and its taking up space I think the best thing will be to either sell it

or give it to charity but it still has a tag on it and its quite expensive so I'm

probably going to sell it and give somebody that it would fit or somebody

else that needs it so this is going out too so my other category of things to get rid of

your closet is things that are uncomfortable when you wear them

most of my clothes are actually comfortable sometimes there clothes that like

maybe crush your boobs when you wear them or like zipper is too tight or I

don't know what kind of clothes are like that but I don't usually buy clothes

that are too tight for me and i dont put on weight that much so all my clothes are still

fine but shoes there are some shoes that you have that they don't fit you like

too tight and then the back of your heels like blistered when you wear them you

should get rid of them like most of the times if you're picking an outfit and

you you are trying to pick a shoe or shoes to go with it

when you see that shoe you'll probably think this is gonna hurt my feet

i dont wanna go through that stress today then you keep skipping it and ts still there

get rid of it now an example are these shoes I really really like them but I'm

someone gave them to me again I really really really really like them I really loved

it but I only wear them about once in four weeks

four weeks once in four months five months why because it's really like

not comfortable the back is always hurting my feet when I wear

them so I usually skip it whenever im picking an outfit so I'm definitely

gonna give this out or sell it or I don't know because none of my sisters cant

wear this we all wear the same size so this is going out I need more space

in my closet for things they actually fit and are more comfortable so this is

going out too so another example of things that don't fit and you shouldn't

have in your closet are jeans most times we have these jeans that we're

like oh I really love this jeans and you struggle and struggle to fit into them

and then do not fit you should get rid of them for example i have this jeans I

brought them what I was coming from Nigeria I really loved it I loved the

colors actually and I don't know if these is still in vogue

know but like stones on them and its kinda ripped I brought them when i was coming from Nigeria

they were like my favorite pair of jeans then but now they

don't even fit at all like it doesnt even pass my thighs when i

try to wear them but I really like them I still have them in my closet and I don't wear them so

the best thing I'm going to do is to give this out because I'm the skinniest

in my house and none of my sisters can even where this so this is going out another one is

this pair of jeans I have no idea why I bought them because they are too small

I think they were on sale i still have the tag on then I think

they were on sale and they look really really cute and when things are on sale once you

buy them you cant return them actually so this once on sale and i thought

thought well this is pretty good really going to fit me it's like high waist and

everything and I got them and I have never worn them like when I put my my leg

in them it didnt even go up to my knee I was so sad when i got them i have had them

since and haven't won them so I'm probably gonna sell this or give it as a

charity or something so this one too is going out so this is my last tip most

times girls will you know after your prom and in Nigeria its called SOP my school

SOP after like prom or everything you do your school like you graduate

all this prom dresses they get like I still have my prom dress since I

graduated high school I'm going to show you this right now

look at this just just look at this I am NOT going to wear this anywhere again

because number one I've gotten taller and this when I wear it's on my ankle and I

look like like a fool but this I don't know why I still have this I should

have sold this when this was still in style

i know someone will still like this definitely but why why do I still have this in my closet it is old I

can't wear this anywhere again ok so the thing is if you have old prom dresses

and all bright especially bright image bridesmaids dresses

actually yes some people have friends that get married and all that stuff and the

actual truth is that there are some bridesmaids dresses that you can actually wear after

you're done with the wedding but most of the times those bridesmaid dress you've

never really gonna wear them again so before the start accumulating the

best thing to do is to sell them or to give them out also like get rid of them

you don't need them in your closet actually so

this its actually sad to see this go but i mean its a memory

but I don't need anymore I need the space so I'm

actually going to have to get rid of this so this is all what i have to show you

in this video and I hope you got something that and I'm sure you have

like one or two things out of what I have showed you here that you have in your

closet that you don't want to trash or you don't want to part way with and you

have to the trash it you have to take it out you have to sell it you have to

give it to charity you have to choose one well except you have a huge closet

space and you can afford to stuffing it but with me my closest is like super

small so I have to maximize as much space as I can so I really really hope

you enjoyed this video and if you did please don't forget to like and

subscribe and share and I'll see you in my next video

Survive in Real Estate with These Budgeting Tips!!! - Duration: 2:30.

Hey guys, did you know 87% of realtors are failing within the first five years?

And one of the main reasons why is because they're just not good at

managing money. I'm gonna give you some tips on that today.

Alright, so 87% of Realtors are failing within the first five years because

you're just not good at managing your money and most people don't understand

how powerful a budget is and a powerful tool to help you plan and guide

your business to success and it specifically helps you know what's

working and what's not working in your business so what I want to do is give

you guys three tips that you can apply to your business specifically your

budget the first is once you create a budget

you have to stick to that budget now I know that sounds simplistic guys but so

many businesses fail because they give in and they don't stick to their budget.

You have to commit and stick to your budget to judge your success. The second

tip is you want to make sure you lead with revenue. What does that mean? Well

Gary Keller always says that agents tend to have this Field of Dreams model where

they feel that if they just spend a bunch of money the listings, the buyers,

are just gonna rain from the sky. It's not gonna work that way, you want to

guide your budget, guide your business, off of this principle of leading with

revenue. You don't spend money unless you're making money and you don't spend

more money unless that's gonna make you more money, so you want to lead with

revenue because everybody's gonna try to sell you everything under the sun. You're

gonna be approached with every shiny new object and if you don't stick to your

budget and if you don't have the principle leading with revenue you're

gonna fail. Now the third tip I'm going to give you

is you want to audit your money and hold your money accountable to results. I'm

talking every bit of what you do when you look at your operating expense. I'm

talking the paper that you use to print out your contracts, tie back your money

and how you spent it either indirectly or directly to results to how it helps

you close a deal. Hold your money accountable to results

all right guys there you have it so many agents are failing within the first five

years because they're not applying these principles to their business and to their budget. If you like

these tips subscribe to our YouTube channel, as always comment below, let me

Here's everything you need to know to get your Square Reader set up and running.

Inside your box there's a Square Reader for contactless and chip, charging cable,

and a Square Reader for magstripe cards.

The Square Reader for contactless and chip has a chip card slot, a power button,

a port for the charging cable, and an NFC antenna built inside.

The battery should last all day on a single charge with normal usage.

To check the battery level, press the power button.

Four green lights indicate your reader is fully charged and ready for payments.

Three or two green lights indicate a partial charge and that it can take even more payments.

And one red light means your reader needs a charge immediately.

To charge it up, plug the cable into your reader and a computer, USB wall charger,

car charger, or USB battery pack.

It should take two to three hours to get a full charge.

Four green lights mean your reader is ready for business.

Now let's connect your reader to your device.

You can connect Square Reader to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth LE.

Make sure your device has the latest version of the Square app.

You'll need to do this before you can connect Square Reader.

Next, go to your device's settings and turn on Bluetooth.

Now you're ready to pair your device with your reader.

Open the Square app.

Go to the menu, Settings, Card Readers, and then Connect a Reader.

Press and hold the power button on your reader for about three seconds.

When the four orange lights start flashing, release the button.

The Square app will automatically pair with the reader.

Your reader may go to sleep to save power.

If it does, press the power button once and the Square app will connect instantly.

Square Reader comes with a USB cable so you can connect it to Square Stand.

Plug the cable into your reader and your Stand's USB hub to accept payments

and keep your reader charged all day.

Square Reader connects automatically and you'll know when your reader is ready.

You can also connect with a Dock for Square Reader.

Place your reader into the dock with the USB port facing downwards.

Then, set the clip in place to secure your reader.

Take the dock's USB cable and plug it into your Stand's USB hub.

The dock charges your reader, gives it a home on your counter, and positions your reader

to accept contactless payments and chip cards.

Now let's start taking payments.

You can accept contactless payments and chip cards with Square Reader for contactless and chip

and swipe cards with the included magnetic-stripe reader.

Make sure you position your reader so it's within reach of both you and your customers.

This lets you accept payments quickly and easily.

Select an item from your library or enter a dollar amount for a new item.

Then, tap Charge.

Wait for one green light to appear on your reader.

This means it's ready to accept payment.

To take a contactless payment under one hundred dollars, no PIN is required.

Have your customers hold their contactless cards or devices near the reader.

Four green lights will appear, and when you see the checkmark, you're all set.

For larger transactions, your customers will need to enter their PIN on your device.

To take a chip card payment, tap Charge, wait for one green light to appear,

then insert the chip card into the Square Reader chip-side facing up.

Leave it there until you see the checkmark or four green lights appear on the reader.

For certain transactions under $35 and any larger transactions, your customers will need

to enter their PIN on your device.

To swipe cards without a chip, just use your Square Stand's built-in magstripe reader,

or use Square Reader for magstripe cards with your device.

To learn more about setting up or taking payments with your reader, go to square.com/setup

I moved to Cedar Rapids in February of 2017 I live in New York. I visited the

United State at four times over a couple of years and I came over 2015 with my twin

daughters. They are eight now. I moved to Cedar Rapids in February and someone

told me about the program and I came. I joined the program. I started the class

"I'm not a Fan." I was interested in doing the sewing and going to sewing

class so they offered I could start the Bible classes and then maybe I

will eventually go to the sewing class in June. On Saturday, July 15...July 14

on Friday I went to bed. I'm healthy. Of course, you look healthy like this way

yet you don't know what's happening inside. I've never had headache. When I got

headache, I just drink a bottle of water or a glass of wine and I go to

bed. I do...I've had a... I've been through a lot. For some of us who come

from Africa. I don't know, but we have gone through a lot already.

Especially from my country who went through 40 years of civil unrest, it

hasn't been easy. I've lost my mom. I lost my brothers but

it has been difficult. I've had marriage, I've lost it. I find myself, even in

the U.S., not working for like two years. You gotta be sleeping; Begging

people to sleep on their couches. Your kids gotta be, it's terrible. It

hasn't been easy but God has still been faithful.

I went to bed July 14th, Friday night. Saturday morning, I got up at night

but between seven or something and the person I'm stopping with she

move over to Des Moines. She didn't tell me that she was moving to Des Moines.

I'm depending on her. I slept on the couch. My kids are here. I took the kids to

New York in June for vacation. Got back here. My cousin told me two weeks

later, you know I'm moving to Des Moines. I gotta pack my stuff. I gotta give the

property over to the people. My God, where am I going? Where are the kids and myself going.

I did say just like that to him but I didn't really look at God that

he's still the same God who knew me when I was in my mother's belly and I

thought I was taking all of those, my problems, on my own shoulder. It was in my

own right. When he said that vengeance is his. In fact, it is not my fight.

It's not my fight, the battle is his. I still thought about when I went to bed; I never

sleep. I got up Saturday morning. I've been alone

already one week ago. My cousin open the door. She walk in where I slept.

I slept in front of the TV. She says, "Carolyn." I say, "yes." She said

to me, "I'm here for us to go to Des Moines this morning." It was like 7:45.

I did turn shift and I'm here. And I'm like for why, for what? She's like I just

went to work and I go to work and I drove here two hours so that we can go

and spend the night in Des Moines and come back tomorrow. So I'm there

for what? Why you? I mean you've been there and you were supposed to be back

on Thursday. Now you're here on Saturday morning and you

want us to go to Des Moines to come back on Sunday to Cedar Rapids. For what?

I was hesitant and I said to her the words, I said to her was,

"Today is not my day." It's just one of those days that you get up; you not

sick. You ready. I mean you just you just not it. You not

yourself. You don't, you don't want to be bothered or you just don't want to...you not

sick but you just tell yourself today is not my day and that's how I felt

that Saturday morning. I said to her it's not my day. I don't want to go

anywhere. She said, "Please we got to go." I rush to the bathroom, got a shower. We got in

in the car. It was like 11 something 12.

She said, "Let me make a brief stop at a friends place so she can do my eyeshadow.

I said "okay." We got to this friend house. I walk up to the bathroom. Pick up my pocketbook.

Went to the bathroom. Make-up. When I came out side I said, "What's the occasion?"

Do you have a date? What's up or what? No! They were eating and they asked me to eat. I said

I didn't want to eat. I walked to the refrigerator. Grab one rubber cup. Took a

cup of ice. A cup filled with ice and I pour this on water

and I stood in front of the refrigerator and just drank the water. As that water went down my body

I felt like I had maybe a 320 or 60 degree fire in me. I just feel hot.

I was so warm. Not even warm, I was hot. I started to take off my blouse.

And the temperature in the room was very cold so everybody like, "oh why?" That's all

I remember. I remember... that's all I remember. I was

on life support for three days. I had cardiac arrest.

I was dead. I received shocking three or four different times. I was in St. Lukes

When I got up on Monday morning, I'm lying there with everything. The nurse

say you got this, you got a therapist person coming. You got this person coming.

The doctor is recommending me to do a defibrillator. They've done all of

the tests. They don't know what happened. The heart is in good shape.

There is nothing associated to a cardiac arrest I've had. I don't have pressure. I don't

have sugar. There's nothing. What that July 15 nobody knows why my heart went into a

different rhythm. Today I've been to New York. I've been to Philly.

I went...he is trying to do a follow-up and I'm standing here. I'm blessed God gave me a

second chance to live. I am so grateful that I'm still alive to look at my three

young kids. And the blessing of God is something that we all want to worship

and see because today I become a testimony. I knew nobody. People they're,

the African community in this, in the Cedar Rapids area, where I live like in

Northeast...like the doctor...Doctor Lee tells me, "Those people. Some were in the ER

and they were all there praying." Then I remember in the Bible when God when

Peter was in jail and the people was in the church there was they was in a

prayer room praying. They had been tired and they prayed all night in the

jailhouse. The door opened for Peter and he keep on walking. Intercessory prayer

works. Prayer has brought me to where I am today and just by a little faith that God

gives me, he has blessed me today. I'm standing here. I'm no one better than

anybody else, I'm just grateful. Since I left that hospital

I stopped taking medication because I told Dr. Lee I'm not gonna do the

surgery because the reason is simple. The fact that Dr. Lee does not

even understand or the team does not understand what happened to me that day.

They say 98% of Cardiac arrest in in the world, morning or whatever, you don't

survive. If you do survive you have to be on something you cannot be stable like

me. You can't be lifting up your hands. You can't be doing whatever I'm doing.

So yeah I am. Why am I going to take an ICD? I told him no. God who took me

from July 15th who has taken me thus far, yeah, he's gonna take care of

me. And that's where I am with that faith, That little faith of mine. I'm praying

every day that everybody else pray. It is so important so that we know

more of him. I'm asking God to please teach me how to know more of him to

learn him because of who he is to me and he is to each and every one of us. God

has been faithful. Since I left the hospital, I never had a roof over my head

I do not have a job. I do not have a...I never because now I got a job...I didn't have a job I

didn't have a rental history. I did not have no credit record. I got an apartment

I move over now. On Friday last week I was sitting and

Whirlpool called me and said you got a job. You can work today with

orientation. I work on Friday; I went to work. Saturday I went to

work. I'm sitting here now a year and immigration sends me a letter. What

yesterday was, Monday...I got a letter yesterday that October 16th I'm to

go for an interview for my ten years green card. So I mean every day my

blessing it's like it's coming. Is something like it was covered like this

but he's just has spread it over a wisping over me. I'm so grateful. I am so

blessed. I can't imagine the wonders of God. I can't. I don't know how others

call Him but I call him the Risen King. And He is the life.

Because of him I am here. Thank you.

High Five - 5 Reasons To Learn Languages - Duration: 4:25.

Hi everyone and welcome to another clip by us, the Superpolyglotbros!

I'm Matthew, and I'm Michael.

This is the first of our High Five series

Where we give five reasons for anything language-related.

That's right, and today

We're going to be taking a look at the advantages

Of knowing and speaking another language.

So, let's have a look at our personal Top 5!

Reason number five - Languages make you smarter.

Now this might sound like common knowledge

But knowing another language does actually make us

More intelligent.

And being able to say something like

Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz

Does sound very impressive

But scientists have actually proven that people that speak more than one language

Have more dense grey matter - this is brain tissue

Full of fibers and cells which process information -

In the brain's left hemisphere

- This is the part of the brain which controls

most of our language and communication skills -

As opposed to monolinguals.

Keeping on the subject of monolingualism,

Speaking another language immediately improves knowledge of your own language

Because when you're learning a new language

Not only are you analyzing your own language

But the new one itself

So when it comes to learning a language on top of that it's even easier.

Reason number four - Languages help us multitask.

Have you ever dreamt of being able to do several things at once?

Well, help is just around the corner!

Because the brain is used to switching between languages,

Those who speak 2 languages or more can therefore switch between tasks

And prioritize them better

Than those who only speak one.

Bilinguals and multilinguals are also better at making decisions

And are much more aware of what's going on around them.

Now in this day and age where we're all glued to our phones

And supposed to be doing a hundred other things at the same time

And listening to something reaaaaally IMPORTANT

Yeah yeah, don't worry. I've just updated our Instagram, calm down!

Okay, well it's definitely a much well sought-after skill!

Reason number three - Languages help you keep fit.

Knowing and speaking another language or multiple languages isn't just awesome for you

It's also awesome for your body and brain.

Why? Because knowing at least one other language

Means that you're less likely to develop memory or neurological problems

Such as Alzheimer's and dementia.

Furthermore, working out your brain is just like working out your muscles.

If you do it regularly and in different ways

You'll improve its health, sharpness and strength.

So, another win-win situation for your body.

Reason number two - It might help you meet the love of your life.

Now, learning and speaking a language can help us

Go to places we've never been to before,

End up doing things that we've never done before,

And maybe even meet someone that we've never met before.

Besides also getting you your dream job

Which is another great advantage

Speaking another language might also land you with

Your dream boat!

That's right!

The love of your life!

In Britain almost 1 in 10 people is married to someone from overseas

And that language is definitely going to come in handy

At the dinner table or with the parents-in-law!

Reason number one - There are simply too many advantages to choose from!

Languages are so "mint" - that's great in Mancunian English -

You just see the rewards all the time.

Being paid more at your job because you speak another language

Finding that new spark of confidence that you thought you never had

But you now do because you speak another language

Watching a football game or a movie in another language and understanding every single word

Singing along to your favourite song and knowing every single word that they're talking about

And realizing that song isn't maybe that cool as you thought it was!

Skipping in the air because you've got an exercise right that you've been doing for ages.

Flipping heck, he's gonna be here all day!

You see, there are so many advantages

Of knowing and speaking another language

That by the end of this clip,

You should already have the name of a language

You'd like to learn and start doing it right away!

Is there a particular advantage that knowing another language has given you?

If so, let us know in the comments below!

See you soon!

Bis bald!

עד יותר מאוחר!

Slán go fóill!

¡Hasta pronto!

Do You Work Well With Others? - Duration: 4:32.

Hey I'm Jake and do ya know what I could go for? Do ya?

A big juicy corndog

on corndog.com

which is a DONG, something that you can do online now guys.

Hello world PIE LoveYDiAwa DQiF GP XXDNlWLoveYDiAwa DQiF GP XXDNlW.

I have no idea what that means but Letters is a social experiment to see how people can

work together.

Everybody can add exactly one letter so choose wisely.

Ever wonder what this text looks like to computers?

Well here ya go.

This site, Binary it's Digitalicious can take text and encode it with the binary number

system which represents characters using only two symbols, 0 and 1.

You can easily do it here but if you want to see which codes represent certain letters

this page shows a chart.

It not only shows you the code for letters but also for commands like backspace.

01110111011000010110101101100101001000000111010101110000

or should I say wakeup…

Is the next DONG.

It's all the fun of annoying a heavy sleeper without the danger of being punched.

The goal is to wake up this site using a variety of methods.

But you'll face obstacles like the hand squishing this bug or pulling down the curtains

when you're trying to wake it up with sunlight.

You can throw flip flops or pillows at its face but for a less injury-prone way use sounds

including an alarm clock which would have worked if the hand didn't keep playing relaxing

music instead.

Bad hand!

NO...NiNoni

Is a website that uses the same technology as Quickdraw, a previously featured DONG.

And it take illustrations from auto draw, another previously featured DONG.

All you do is outline whatever you want like a cute lil heart and it will give you the

option of a few different things it could be.

Obviously it guessed a heart first because I'm an HEARTist.

But it also guesses pliers, toothpaste, and steak which is a list as nonsensical and

hectic as I predicted this multiplayer piano would be

but I was wrong because it's only me playing by myself which is the theme of my entire

life.

Oh someone joined!

"Let's Jam" fellow pianist.

Wow I'm not used to having a whole friend so I'm gonna create a room that's a little

more private which you can share with your "friends" on facebook or the twitter.

This website really struck a chord with me…

An online guitar chord that is.

These notes were recorded individually in a professional studio so it's pretty realistic.

There are three ways to play; clicking on the guitar fretboard, clicking on the piano

keyboard which will also play guitar, or clicking on a string button.

Wow that is as musically magical as

Flootify.

This is another groovy DONG but unlike the others you can be untalented which is going to be difficult for you because you are magic.

All you do is grab a song off youtube, paste it here, and sway to the rhythm of confusion

as you ask yourself "did this song really need a flute?"

You tell me.

I think it did. I think everything needs flutes.

Okay now that you've cleared your mind with stunning symphonies play

Smarty Trousers.

The goal is to get him from the start to the green block without trapping yourself which

is much easier to do than it looks.

The brown blocks are set barriers but the black ones can be pushed around.

You can press you z to reverse a move but you only have ten of these so use them wisely.

Well that was easy…

Foody, which is just a website where you can make recipes.

WRONG!!!!!!

It's a website where you can make recipes and find pictures of your ingredients so realistic

so enticing that you could almost lick the screen right now.

My recipe includes chocolate, fennel, mustard, cucumbers, and an egg.

It's a very unique recipe and maybe one day I'll share it

but for now...foodbye.

But if you don't feel like making your own food I have one more DONG for your that could help that.

It is GrubHub. GrubHub. And they were nice enough to sponsor this episode

and support Vsauce and DONG. GrubHub if you don't know is a delivery food service

I use it multiple times a week. It's awesome.

It's the largest food delivery service. It's really cool and if you want you can get $7 off

your first order if you click the link in the description.

So grub on some food, grub on some DONGs. Links to all the DONGs are down there as well

and as always, thanks for watching.
