As soon as you tell me I can't do something,

I'm going to do it.

I hope that in sharing with you what

I've learned over 50 years of writing that it will help

you find your way as a writer.

As a 12-year-old, I was obsessed by the idea of growing

breasts and getting my period.

But there was no place that I could read about it.

When I started to write, I was determined to be honest.

So I'm going to share with you the practical side of writing.

Process, story, voice, editing, dialogue, and character.

There's nothing more important than character.

You're living with these people for years.

You had better feel for them.

Do some exercises.

Have your character write a letter to you.

The first draft is pure torture for me.

I hate every second of it.

I have a messy mind, and my writing

is a process of cleaning up the mess,

then slowly making a story.

I will be able to show that to you.

I got a particularly nasty review once.

It got to me, and I took my typewriter,

and I held it over this arroyo.

And I was going to throw it in.

I thought I cannot do this anymore.

And then this little voice went off in my head.

Wait, you're going to let this one review stop you

from writing?

That's crazy!

That's one opinion.

I enjoy finding and supporting new writers,

and this is a chance for me to reach more of you.

I always ask myself, why would anyone

write if they didn't have to?

I mean it's so hard.

Jeep Wrangler Smittybilt Extended Brief Top - Black Diamond (1997-2006 TJ) Review & Install - Duration: 3:54.

This mini build Extended Brief Top in Black Diamond is for those of you that have a 1997

to 2006 TJ and are looking for a Safari style top to add on to your Jeep.

This is going to give you an open-air experience by not having any of the three windows or

that rear section of the top that attaches to the tub, giving you a very open feel, but

still keeping the direct sun and the rain off of you when you're in the Jeep.

Whether you're running with or without doors, this top is going to wrap around these sport

cage upfront above the two doors, so it is going to keep you pretty dry on the inside

of the Jeep.

This is going to be, of course, more protective than a mesh top would be.

This is going to do a much better job keeping the moisture out and it's gonna block 100%

of the sun instead of a mesh top load that would only block part of it.

Now this is the Extended Brief Top, so this is going to go from the windshield channel

all the way to the back of the Jeep.

This is going to cover both the front and the rear seat passengers in your TJ.

There are, of course, shorter tops like this that will just cover the front seat passengers

if that's something you're interested in.

Now there are a couple different versions of these out there from a couple of different

companies.

There are some that are more expensive than this.

I think this one's pretty appropriately priced for what you're getting.

You are going to get a high quality piece.

It's gonna stay nice and tight on the Jeep, so it's not going to flap around.

It's gonna look good.

It's gonna hold up well.

And I think it's pretty affordable.

This top is made of the same high quality Black Diamond material as your factory top,

so it is going to match your interior and exterior of your Jeep very well.

It's going to come with all of the straps, VELCROs and buckles that is necessary, already

attached to it, so it's going to stay nice and tight, and it's not going to flap on the

Jeep, which is one of the big complaints that people have with this style of top.

You're going to be able to attach this again right around the sport cage upfront keeping

it nice and tight.

It has these additional straps upfront to keep any water from pooling on top of the

top.

Now, one thing that is important to note about this top, as well as a lot of the other ones

on the market, is that this does require a windshield header bar.

So that's something you're going to have to purchase separately, and you're going to need

in order to install this onto your Jeep.

So you do have to figure that into the cost of installing a top like this.

So as far as the install goes, I'm gonna give this a one out of three wrenches.

You should be able to get this installed on your Jeep in half an hour or less.

And every time you install it and uninstall it, you're just going to get that much quicker.

Now, the first step is going to be installing the windshield header bar on to your top,

of course, after removing your hard top or soft top.

That header bar will attach right to the top of your factory windshield frame.

Then you'll work your way from the front to the back attaching all the straps and VELCRO

pieces to make sure that this is nice and tight.

Now, the first go-around, you can leave most of the straps a little bit loose, just get

them in position, and then again working from the front to the back, tighten everything

down.

That way you're not gonna have any wrinkles and you're gonna make sure that everything

fits as it should.

This top comes in at just $70, which I do think is a pretty good deal.

It's gonna be a little bit less expensive than some of the other ones on the market.

Now some of be more expensive Safari style tops will have some additional features, like

maybe built-in zippered pockets, but if you're not interested in those additional features,

this is going to be a good way to still get a quality top that will save you a few dollars.

Now, it is very important to remember, as I mentioned before, that you need to figure

the price of that windshield header into running a top like this if you don't already have

one.

So if you're looking for a Safari style top for your TJ, I definitely recommend taking

One day in physics class, you're learning about gravity, and your friend tells you that

they exert a stronger gravitational force on you than the nearest star beyond our sun,

proxima centauri.

You have a mass of sixty kilograms, as does your friend, who is sitting two meters away.

Proxima centauri has a mass of 2.45 times ten to the twenty-nine kilograms, and it is

4.01 times ten to the sixteen meters away.

So is your friend correct?

Which exerts more gravity on you, your friend, or the star?

To answer this, we will need to use Newton's law of universal gravitation, so if you missed

that tutorial, check it out right now.

If you know what to do, give this calculation a try.

This is easy to solve if we know this equation.

All we do is plug in the masses and distances involved, as well as the gravitational constant.

First, for your friend, we plug in sixty and sixty as the masses, and two meters as the

distance between you.

We square that and evaluate, and we should get six times ten to the negative eight Newtons.

This is an extremely tiny force, which explains why people don't slowly drift towards each

other when sitting in a room.

Now let's do one for the star.

We replace the mass of your friend with the mass of the star, but we also change this

value to the distance to the star, so we have a huge number on top, but we have a pretty

big number on the bottom, too, and we have to square it, so when we evaluate this, we

get 6.1 times ten to the negative thirteen Newtons.

As small as the first number was, this one is a hundred thousand times smaller, so it

looks like your friend was right, none of the stars in the universe apart from the sun

can have any significant gravitational influence on the earth.

Into their Business put a Lot of fucking time into their Passion into their Work and

People Pay them Because of It so remember that you might be thinking Yourself Like Shit i'm putting all This Work it's Been a Year

had to deal with.

I really don't want to be dropped from this class.

Well I'm really glad you came in to talk to me about it.

But because you missed a test and too many days of class, I'm going to have to drop you.

But let me tell you what you can do about administrative withdrawals.

To be successful in college, you need to attend your classes.

It makes sense, doesn't it?

If you miss too many days, you'll miss the lectures and tests, and then your grades will

suffer.

Your instructor posts your grades and your attendance in Blackboard, so make sure to

check it often.

When you have a failing grade and you have missed more than the allowed absences, you

will be dropped from your class with an AW on your transcript.

When this happens, there is an appeal process that may allow you to be reinstated into class.

Now you may be thinking, "Well, I'll just pick up that class later on," but just hold

on a second.

AWs could affect your financial aid.

You may have to pay out of pocket to retake that course.

And getting dropped from one or more classes could affect your graduation date.

OK.

I'll file the appeal forms and try to work things out.

I really don't want to mess up my plans or financial aid.

Please don't waste the time and money you've already invested.

Go to Blackboard and check your grades and absences regularly.

1994-1995 Mustang 5.0L SR Performance 75mm Throttle Body Review - Duration: 4:07.

SR Performance's 75 mm throttle body I've got here today is a good option for any of

my '94, '95 5.0 liter owners out there that are looking to squeeze every last bit of power

out of their naturally aspirated or forced induction motor.

Now when it comes time for the installation, expect an easy one out of three wrenches on

our difficulty meter here, and about an hour job only needing basic hand tools.

We're gonna show you how coming up soon.

So when it comes to moving air into and out of your 5.0, there are a few general rules

here guys.

Cold airs, throttle bodies and air intake manifolds going in, you got long tubes and

a cat-back to move that all out.

Now, some parts have a tendency to move air more effectively, like long tubes compared

to a set of mufflers.

Just for example, now, if you are the 5.0 liter owner who's already done every air and

exhaust upgrade possible, you're probably looking at where else you can squeeze out

more power.

Now that's where this guy comes in.

Now while throttle bodies aren't modifications that make gobs of power on their own, when

paired with the aforementioned mods, it really adds up in the long run, and we're all hunting

for power gains, right?

So the Mustang's factory throttle body comes in at 56 mm and the SR Performance bumps it

up to 75 mm.

Now, while it sounds small it is a big step up in the right direction, but bigger doesn't

necessarily always mean it's gonna be better on its own here.

If your motor is completely stocked this is not gonna do much for you at all.

But if you're investing in exhaust pieces, an air intake, and a manifold, and other power

adders, that OEM throttle body will quickly become a bottleneck.

Now this throttle body fixes that, freeing up that extra air your motor needs to take

advantage of the other mods.

Now looking into the construction here a little bit for you, this throttle body is made from

a permanent mold casting of 356 grade aluminum to produce a higher quality, stronger housing

than a conventional sand mold casting, which reduces porosity.

Now, that basically means that this throttle body gets a harder and smoother finish.

And speaking of finishes, this does have a really nice, polished look that's gonna fit

pretty well under your hood.

Now it is worth pointing out a couple things here.

One, it's not a tune required throttle body, meaning that you can simply install it and

hit the ground running, and not have to pick up a 4-bank eliminator chip, but we're always

gonna recommend it here.

Now, two, this is more of a recommendation from me and everybody else here at AM, and

that's gonna be just like I had said earlier.

If you're gonna be doing the throttle body here, it's best to pair this at least with

a cold air intake to really yield those higher gains.

Now that being said, SR Performance's 75 mm throttle body option by itself only costs

$150, which will make this the most inexpensive throttle body for the '94, '95 5.0 liter at

the time of shooting this video.

Now when it comes time for the installation, like I said a little bit earlier, you're looking

at an easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and about an hour job only

needing basic hand tools like a socket set.

So you'll want to start by removing the negative battery terminal followed by the hose from

the throttle body to the air intake, then detach the three cables from the throttle

linkage followed by unplugging the throttle position sensor as well as your idle air control.

You can then remove four nuts holding the throttle body onto the intake manifold with

a 13 mm wrench or socket.

You'll then need to remove the factory IAC and throttle position sensor, and once they're

off it's gonna be a great idea just to clean the IAC with a little bit of carb cleaner

while you're at it.

You'll then install the throttle position sensor and IAC onto the new throttle body.

So with the supplied gasket, install the new throttle body onto the intake manifold and

then secure with the factory nuts and then torque them down to spec.

You can then reattach the linkages to the throttle body and plugs onto the TPS and IAC.

Once you've done that you're gonna install the hose back onto the new throttle body then

reconnect your negative battery terminal.

Now after that you're gonna wanna fire your car up and then adjust the idle by turning

the idle screw.

So, if it doesn't change the idle, simply just adjust the throttle position sensor until

you're happy where it's at.

You have many choices when it comes to buying brake rotors.

Are you truly getting what you're paying for though?

When we design and manufacture our rotors, we manufacture them to OE fit, form and function, which includes weight and vane configuration.

Why is weight and vane configuration so important?

Because the mass or the weight of the rotor, along with the vane configuration, is what absorbs and dissipates the heat during brake cycles.

Now, if that rotor doesn't do its job, other key components will absorb that heat.

This would include the brake pads, calipers, brake fluid, even the hub bearing assembly.

Those components cannot absorb that much heat.

If they get overheated, they can have premature brake pad wear, premature bearing wear, even complete brake failure.

This is why it's so important to have the exact same OE-style rotor.

We've got some examples that we'll go through and show you a couple of reasons why.

These all fit the same application. Let's start with the OE rotor.

Let me show you how the competitors reduce weight in their rotors.

Here's an example of our rotor's vane configuration.

The competitors, they match the vane configuration, but they're quite a bit smaller.

In this example, again, our rotor meets OE specifications as far as thickness of the plates and proper air gap.

Competitor, quite a bit less metal on the plates, smaller vanes.

Let's compare our rotor to an OE rotor.

As you can see, same plate thickness, 42 vanes in our rotor, 42 vanes in the OE rotor.

Now let's look at a competitor's.

In this case, quite a bit of difference in the plate thickness and a dramatic difference in the vanes.

Now, again, 42 in ours and the OE.

The competitor has 36.

Plus they're smaller vanes. This is also the rotor that weighed quite a bit less than the OE rotor and our rotor.

These vane configurations play a vital role in heat dissipation.

They also control vibration and harmonics, which contribute to brake noise.

In this example, this manufacturer not only made the vanes thinner but also took material out of the middle of the vane on every other one.

As we've shown you, not all rotors are created equal.

Don't compromise the safety of your customers or the integrity of your shop by installing lightweight, inferior rotors.
