"I'm a Weird Dropout" - Study Motivation - Duration: 10:33.

you went to Harvard and you're dropped out have you ever thought how your life

could be better off if you had gotten your Harvard degree well I I'm a weird

dropout because I take college courses all the time I love learning company

courses and things so I love being a student and there were smart people

around and you know they fed you and they gave you these nice grades that

made you feel smart so I I feel it was unfortunate that I didn't get to stay

there but I don't think I missed any knowledge because you know whatever I

needed to learn I would I was still in a learning mode I got a uh yeah I started

working at this video store it was pretty much what you're talking about

around that time and and it was great at first because I'd always hated day jobs

and stuff and so I got a day job and it ended up being pretty good but

admittedly I was there for five years at a certain point it was our narcotic all

right I didn't have to keep pursuing my dreams because you know it's not what I

want to do but it's sort of kind of close and if I didn't have an artist

soul burning in me I could have made myself happy with that I could if i if i

didn't have an artist soul burning to get out I could have you know walked

backwards a couple steps and just done that and would have been a fulfilling

lure to anybody else that would have been a fulfilling life it wouldn't been

for me because I wouldn't know and I would have had something to say that I

didn't get a chance to say but it did put me to sleep for a while and and I've

always just thought I mean what really got it got everything kind of truly

going for me you could point out a lot of different things but the bottom line

is the fact that I realized that the even the group of people I hung around

with they were all great great great fellows and great gals but you know I

was easy for me to think that I was doing a lot because I was doing more to

try to move myself forward than they were but you know that's not um yeah

okay I'm a big fish in a puddle so what all right they're not doing anything

so yeah I'm doing more than them but um I realize that actually I need to get my

ass out to Hollywood and meet other people who are you know like we were in

my category or or working a little higher and and I should be the weakest

link in my chain that I have and that'll make me be stronger or make me run

faster I mean like an analogy I've always used is alright if you run the

hundred yard dash with a people that can't run as fast as ya you'll win hands

down you know that but if you run with people much faster than you alright yeah

you might come in last every single time but your time will be better because

they're making you run all the faster they're making Making you dig down just a

little bit more it doesn't matter that you and your time is faster and that's

what I knew I had to do I had to get out of Loserville and throw myself into a

place where like you get intimidated by roles do you ever think I'm not sure I

can do it or is that a turn-on I I think fear is a motivator I think I think I

think I think I'm a even you know even even it doesn't matter what role just

getting in front of that camera it's a little bit intimidating and there's

always that I feed from those butterflies you know the first day in

school or you know right before tip-off being on stage giving a speech to an

audience or whatever and it does butterflies I need them I need to yeah

and I doesn't matter what role it is if there's always a sense of and if the

fear might not be the right word but but it there is an element of fear that

motivates particularly ambitious or you just wanted to be interested in your

work you know I'm ambitious by Nature just it is what it is

you know failure is a part of the process but I just I like success I like

get things done and there's something that has been a positive impact in my

life and going towards a goal and achieving it there's nothing like it so

should you keep putting the bar further out for yourself or oh yeah definitely

that I mean that I mean this why would I help I would I'd be doing back to back

interviews going on planes all the time and you know it's a harsh life but nice

it's a commitment is a commitment you know doing this is a commitment I just

feel like sometimes you don't want to do it and what pulls you through is

ambition I wanted to achieve something and that's nothing wrong with that so do

you want to be the biggest movie star in the world or do you want to I don't know

what that is but I'm gonna do me and however you guys want to define it you

can define it for whatever is but I want to do me for sure and I'm just wanna be

the best that I can be and I want to inspire other people to do what they

want to do with their lives regardless of what it is just be the best you

can be I just want people to understand this you don't need to love every second

of every day okay you don't need to love it you don't even need to like it I mean

I get sick I was at the Pentagon talking to a bunch of troops in transition and

everybody was up there the speakers were telling them do what you love when you

get back in transition you've you've served us in Afghanistan come back find

what you love and I'm like that's bullsh oh that's crazy what are y'all doing man

you can look you need to do what it takes whatever it takes to take care of

your family today most of what you and I have to do every day

we don't love I mean I start my day like this okay I start my day like man I

don't even know if I want to get up this morning dude I don't want to get up okay

oh my god Brian I don't want to get up today dude I want to sleep in my little

six-year-old comes and jumps in she plays I'm like I just want to stay in

here and just love on her all day but you know what I'm like oh I got a drive

to work I got to show up and this is where the flow happens when you push

through when you push through the grind and like okay I'm gonna show up anyway

show up anyway and then all sudden and this is where I agree I start creating

you know I start I start doing my deal I start finding out who I really am I

started getting to exercise my creativity

and then I'm like oh dude that's what I'm here for but I'm in my purpose now

you like competition to imagine that you are a Athlete that runs 100 meters you

will run alone competition make you better

you need to have competition and also the most important international

reference for whatever you do do you know you need to have the highest

reference to make you a good job we are in 18 countries 18 countries today and

we have competition everywhere I don't think that there is now a

telecommunication service in any place I don't know Korea not including North

Korea that there is no competition that's there's no monopoly that until I

understand there is competition everywhere you will have many of many

many opportunity opportunities to reinvent yourself and so you know so I

think you know it's worthwhile taking risks and trying to do something you're

really you know excited by and if the first attempt you don't do it you know

you can try again and you know things tend to work out in the long run in

Silicon Valley you know you know parties and so many people start up at companies

you know starting up a company and even having failed you can wear it like a

badge of honor right and I think it's important you know culturally you know

risk is rewarded I remember when I started working at Google you know I if

I went and you know people who are discussing ideas to other people who

heard the ideas try to build on those ideas they encourage you so it's a

culture of optimism it's a culture of risk-taking and I think that's really

important ideas don't come out fully formed they only become clear as you

work on them you just have to get started if I had to know everything

about connecting people before I got started I never would have built

Facebook movies and pop culture just get this all wrong

the idea of a single Eureka moment is a dangerous lie it makes us feel

inadequate because we feel like we haven't had ours yet and it prevents

people with seeds of good ideas from ever getting started in the first place

who works harder the people at eBay are the people of Alibaba it's sometimes you

have not only have to work hard you have to work smart so would you say you work

smarter than eBay I'd have to say yes right well it's so far yeah so so far

okay because because I think you know we are pretty lucky people and the people

see you yeah you work very hard true in this world there's so many people work

very hard but they're not that I told my team when we I'd pill I asked a lot of

people sitting there I say you know all of you guys millionaires and

so rich but 15 years ago who are we it's so difficult for us to hide people

fifteen years ago people who are not that bad I said people can walk still

walk on the steet we hire them because nobody believed internet about belief internet

and they join a company those people who believe they're smart they were head

hunted back to the other company set up their own company those people no nobody

go to head hunting them this state today depicts successful very key reasons we

exist we'll persist we'll never give up we believe the

dreams together I get up at crazy hours whether it's three o'clock in the

morning by the way when we're talking in London I was getting up at 3:00 because

I had to be on set by 4:00 I'm sorry by 7:00 so whatever time my call time is

and I tell this to studios and directors and our producers whatever time I called

up so my call time is at 7:00 then you back your clock up four hours and then

that's when I get up and train twice I'll get my cardio in and breakfast and

I'll go hit the weights clanging and banging we call it jack and the iron but

like what time do you go to bed I mean you might shoot really late at night

I'm averaging on a movie I have it's probably about five hours of sleep

BREAKING NEWS Out Of CALIFORNIA - Duration: 3:32.

Can you imagine spending 40 years in prison for something you didn't do?

Unfortunately, it does happen.

The Judicial system is far from perfect and as a result many innocent people are behind

bars and many guilty people are set free.

Forensic science has come a long way in a relatively short period and by using DNA testing,

many people that were convicted of crimes they didn't commit are being set free from

prisons.

For example, a man in California named Craig Richard Coley, 70, was finally vindicated

nearly 40 years after being wrongly convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend and her 4-year-old

son after DNA tests proved his innocence, Fox News reports.

Coley was immediately released from a state prison in Lancaster this week after California

Governor Jerry Brown issued a pardon of the wrongly convicted man.

Brown wrote in his pardon that Coley has been a model inmate for 38 years, avoided gangs

and violence, and dedicated himself to religion.

"The grace with which Mr. Coley has endured this lengthy and unjust incarceration is extraordinary,"

Brown wrote.

Coley has maintained his innocence throughout his nearly four-decade imprisonment.

Craig was arrested on Veteran's Day in 1978 (after serving his country honorably in the

Navy including several deployments to Viet Nam aboard the USS Enterprise; also was on

the USS Bainbridge and USS Bon Homme Richard).

He was arrested on Nov. 11, 1978 after 24-year-old Rhonda Wicht and her 4-year-old son, Donald

Wicht, were found dead in her Simi Valley apartment.

Rhonda Wicht was strangled, apparently with a macrame rope, and her son was suffocated.

Investigators quickly zeroed in on Coley, who had broken up with Wicht shortly before

she was killed.

Coley's first trial in 1979 resulted in a hung jury, with jurors unable to resolve

an impasse that left them 10-2 in favor of guilt, according to a news release issued

by the police chief and district attorney.

He was tried again in 1980, found guilty and sentenced to life without parole.

Brown said he asked the state parole board to look into Coley's conviction more than

two years ago, and former law-enforcement officials said they believed he was wrongfully

convicted or framed.

Simi Valley Police Chief David Livingstone and Ventura County District Attorney Gregory

Totten, who have supported Coley's request for clemency in past, said they cannot stand

by the evidence used in his conviction.

Livingstone and Totten said they began reviewing the case last year after a retired detective

raised concerns about Coley's guilt.

The trial court had ordered evidence destroyed after Coley exhausted his appeals, but investigators

retrieved records from Coley's relatives and located biological samples at a private

lab.

Using advanced techniques not available at the time of his trial, technicians did not

find Coley's DNA on one key piece of evidence used in the conviction, but they did find

DNA from other people, whom authorities have not publicly identified.

"As district attorney, I must tell you I look forward to the day when I can shake Mr.

Coley's hand, apologize to him for the injustice he suffered," Totten said at a news conference

Monday.

Amazing.

40 years of hell.

Now he's 70 years old and the best part of his life was spent in a stinking prison

being treated like a pile of shit.

Unbelievable.

BIKERGIRL why I bought the SV650N - Duration: 3:59.

YESSSSS!! Riding again!

After not been riding for a month now

I haven't ridden for so long!

Hello everybody, thank you for watching!

Today I'm doing a real motovlog

How real motovloggers do it

Talking in your own helmet

Riding

And I wanted to talk with you about my

My new bike

The Suzuki SV650 Naked

Bike is from 2004

And if you already saw a few videos of my

You'll see that lately I've been riding this bike

But I started vlogging on my 2003 Honda CB600F Hornet

I'd love to ride that bike!

And you'll probably ask why I sold the bike..

Yeah.. well why did I? :(

I miss you

To be honest I wanted another bike for so long

I wanted it for a few years

I wanted a different character of the bike

I was searching for the 'BRAAAP'-feeling

Like a V-twin

But I suck at making decisions

So I never made the step to buy another bike

My motorcycle had about 60.000 kilometers

I knew.. the bike hadn't got its original colour

The bike hadn't much value

And then a girl messaged with the announcement

That she was looking for an other bike

And she wanted a Hornet

So my reaction was like, why don't she try my bike

She asked how much I would have want for the bike

So I thought about the amount of money the bike is worth it for me

So I wouldn't regret it

And if she would bought it it would be ment to be

And when she rode my bike she was immediately sold!

And then my mind was like; I need a new bike

Because I don't have one anymore

But what kind of bike do I want?

I knew I wanted a two cilinder motorcycle

I knew the amount of cc and torque wasn't that value to me

Most important was the amount of FUN

And then I thought about a Honda Transalp

A friend of ours, Tino

Got a beautiful Transbraaap

So beautiful

But to get it like that it costs a lot of money

And to be honest I don't have money

And then a friend told me about this bike

Or it was Nomi who told me about it

so we were looking at the Suzuki SV650

This motorcycle, for real,

Only had about 4000 kilometers on the clock :O

I thought, Yeah for sure....

An 13 year old bike

With such less kilometers

How

So I brought a friend, Keiji

He is a motorcycle mechanic at a BMW dealer

He got knowledge about bikes for sure

And the owner could show he was the first one who bought the bike

And then we checked the tires..

and the tires were also still from 2004

And the owner negotiated about the price

And then I thought...

I'm buying it

And now see me riding on the SV650 N

And the sound of it <3

What I hate about the bike

Hopefully I'm able to upgrade in the winter

are the brakes!

the brakes sucks!

And the suspension

The suspension isn't also very good

That was about my new bike

Next week comes a new video

With detailed shots about the bike

A walk-around

So this is the Suzuki SV650

I've got one question!

What kind of name should I give te bike?!

And if you got some info, tips/tricks about this bike

Let me know

That was it

Thanks

How underground tunnels are built? - Duration: 1:09.

Welcome back Amaniacs, Did you know that The channel tunnel of the UK has the longest undersea

portion of any tunnel in the World?

This makes us wonder how are underwater tunnels constructed?

You see, Under the water is some kind of ground.

If you're lucky, that ground is sturdy clay or chalk that's easy to mine through by digging

underground, and holds its shape long enough to quickly reinforce the tunnel with brick

walls or with iron rings.

If you're not lucky, that ground may be unstable silt, or really hard granite.

In such situations, a river can be diverted through a temporary channel and the tunnel

can be dug and covered over with a brick or concrete roof while the riverbed is dry.

Hence, you either build it with water or simply divert the water, build it and then bring

back the water.

Could you avoid Google products COMPLETELY? - Alternatives for Google Services - Duration: 6:04.

Google is great.

They make all sorts of cool and useful products and most people use them every day.

But what if you decided not to?

Could you?

Let's check it out.

Yep, you heard me.

It might sound like a pretty dumb question at first: yes, of course you can.

You just have to decide to do it.

But it might not be as easy as you think it is.

So let's go ahead and see what a normal day would look like if you were to put on

a protest and completely avoid any sort of google product.

So, here goes nothing.

It's early in the morning and you wake up.

You stop your alarm and reach for your phone, but wait.

Is it an android phone?

In that case, it's off limits.

Android is developed by google, so you'll have to settle for an iPhone or a Windows

Phone.

But let's say you have an iPhone, so it's all good.

Do you want to use your computer?

Great.

Google chrome is a no-go zone, but that's ok, you'll just install Mozilla Firefox.

It's a great browser and it's pretty similar to its google counterpart.

You'll need a search engine that is not google.com.

At first, you might think "Oh no, not bing."... and you'd be right.

Not bing.

Instead, go for DuckDuckGo.

You might not have heard of it, but it comes up with results that are similar in quality

to the ones provided by everyone's favourite tech giant and, in addition to that, the interface

is pretty familiar looking as well, with a modern layout and all the functions that you

are used to.

So far you've been pretty successful, but what are you going to do now that you're

on the web?

YouTube is owned by google, so that isn't an option.

You'll have to go to some other site.

Maybe it's vimeo, maybe it's Twitch, maybe it's Facebook.

Who knows?

But you might want to install adblock, because Google also owns services like AdWords, AdSense

and Doubleclick, which are responisble for a huge percentage of the ads that you consume,

and that also applies to a lot of the ads that you see on your phone, even if it isn't

an android device.

Also, if you have to create an account or log in somewhere and the site requires you

to complete a CAPTCHA, bad luck.

Google owns reCAPTCHA.

But that's enough time wasted surfing the internet for now.

What do you have to do today?

Normally, you might check your google calendar, but that is definitely off limits.

So you have to reach for something else.

Let's say outlook; that's a pretty widespread option.

While you're dealing with outlook, you might as well create an email address over there

or on yahoo mail, if that's what floats your boat, because gmail, the most popular

email provider, is owned by Google.

Great.

Now you know where you have to get to, but how do you get over there?

Don't go to google maps, that's "no bueno".

Maybe Waze can help, only wait, it can't.

Google owns them as well.

An alternative is Here WeGo.

You probably haven't heard of them, because Google Maps is so unanimously accepted, but

they have great reviews and should be able to get you to your destination.

Do you need a file while you're away from home?

Google Drive is not an option, so try Dropbox or Microsoft's OneDrive instead.

They're pretty good and give you plenty of storage.

Pictures, however, are a bit of a different story.

Google Photos gives you free unlimited cloud storage for your photos so you can conveniently

access, sort and share them from anywhere.

But we're trying to avoid google, so Amazon Prime Photos is your best shot but only IF

you are already an amazon prime customer, which costs money.

Otherwise, you might want to try Flickr.

It's not unlimited, but the 1TB of cloud storage that they give you is quite a few

photos worth.

iCloud and iCloud Photos are also other options worth considering if you are a loyal Apple

customer and prefer those instead.

Some other random things that you can't use are, in no particular order:

Google Home (you'll have to go for Amazon Echo instead)

Google Keep (you'll have to use something like Evernote or Microsoft OneNote for your

random cross-platform note taking).

Google Images (try using the DuckDuckGo image search instead, or, dare i say it, bing)

Google Translate (again, try bing translate.

It's not quite as good, but it will do for simple things)

Google Hangouts, used by quite a few small companies.

If your workplace requires you to use this, bad luck.

Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.

For project colaborations you might have to look to Office Online or something similar.

Google Chromecast.

Google Firebase.

If you develop mobile applications, you might know what it is.

If you don't, then don't worry about it.

Chromebooks, the laptop of choice for a lot of students on a tight budget who just need

something that they can take to class.

They aren't produced by google, but they run ChromeOS, which obviously is.

Gboard, the google keyboard.

If you use it on your iOS device, you'll have to find something else.

I'd recommend SwiftKey as an alternative.

And the list just goes on and on

So, it's conclusion time.

Could you avoid Google?

Yes.

Would you find it easy?

Probably not.

Would it affect your daily tech experience in a negative way?

Probably yes.

Would I advise you to do it?

No, no way, no!

Like it or not, google products have pushed out competition in so many fields due to their

clean interface, user-friendly behaviour and widespread availability that avoiding them

completely would just add an unnecessary hassle to your otherwise probably already pretty

stressful life.

So, until something better shows up, just stick with the jolly tech giant.

So, I really do hope you enjoyed this video and if you want to see more you can click

on the right to watch my latest video or on the left to watch a random video or just click

the round channel icon in the middle to subscribe.

And as always, this has been vlad from goodsauce tech, and i'll catch you in the next one.

One Sniff Of This Essential Oil Will Help You Lose Weight - Duration: 2:32.

Have you ever considered the possibility that our your sense of smell is so powerful, that

it can have an effect your weight?

Out of all the five senses, the sense of smell is known to be the most powerful.

Even when we're not hungry, the scent of our favorite foods makes us want to stop what

we're doing and eat.

We smell a freshly-baked chocolate cake and we've got to have a piece.

People wake up everyday to the smell of coffee.

Sometimes just that smell is enough to get us up and moving.

So experiential evidence shows us that there exists a powerful link between what we smell

and what we want to eat.

The rich aroma of certain foods are enough to alter our appetite and convince our brains

that we're hungry when we're really not.

A recent study proved this idea is more than just experiential evidence or a wild hypothesis.

The study involved a group of overweight people who were encouraged to inhale certain scents,

whenever they felt hungry.

They were instructed not to drastically alter their eating habits but to use the inhalant

when they felt hungry.

The results were fantastic, ranging from a total weight loss of five to eighteen extra

pounds per month per participant.

The study used different scents that included fruits and herbs and concluded that the most

effective inhalant happened to be peppermint.

What the researchers discovered is that inhaling this herb satisfied people's cravings.

It served as a substitute for a sugary snack, and reduced the desire and withdrawal symptoms

associated with a low-sugar diet.
