welcome to psych irl. my name is donna.

you guys seem to be liking my social media videos a lot so I'm bring you back another

one.

Alright so today we're going to be addressing the question, are social media marketing courses

worth it?

So, you're interested in becoming a social media marketing manager and you're looking

at the course.

You either found it online through google or you found it online through a youtube video

search and someone is saying they're teaching this course.

Before I even answer the question, I'm going to be giving a little bit of background on

myself.

So, I graduated with a degree in psychology but honestly I do not think you need a degree

for this and I didn't learn anything about social media marketing taking those courses

anyway.

I got into social media marketing in a very non-traditional sense I believe.

After college, I just had a feeling that I wanted to get into social media marketing.

I didn't have any experience whatsoever in the area so I decided to find experience on

my own.

I started first by trying to build up my own personal account.

That's instagram, youtube, twitter, and all that.

After I was satisfied with the amount of followers I got from those sites I decided to post my

personal stuff on my resume.

When I posted that stuff on my resume I decided to turn that in and try to find internships

or places that I could work for free and try to gain experience and so I was working for

free for a while then after that it turned into part time jobs and free lance gigs.

Now, that you know my background my answer to this is very based on my experiences and

it's based on my opinions.

First of all are social media courses worth it depends on the person.

If you're oblivious to social media and how it works but you know it's this thing that

can help you grow your business.

I think that courses are worth it, but it also depends on the courses you take.

My personal opinion is to develop a few skills so if you're going to take classes you might

as well take classes for these skills.

Social media is very content dependent.

Depending on the company, you're either creating content or you're siphoning content meaning

that you're taking media from other sites and reposting it on their social media platforms.

With that said, I think very important skills to have are photography, video, writing, to

a lesser extent because it's content and you can siphon that another place.

Other things useful skills are web design, how ads work for each social media platform,

social media analytics, auto posting platforms like hootsuite and buffer, and email platforms

like mail chimp.

Obviously you don't need to learn all of those skills but the more you have the more valuable

you become.

Chances are if you're trying to get into this business, you're going to start off with working

for small companies with a limited budget and with that limited budget they don't necessarily

have the budget to hire 5 people to these separate things so if you're one person who

can do all of these things then you're golden.

So with those skills I think the best way to practice is to grow your own personal account

just as I did.

I took 2 courses before for social media.

I took one online and one in person.

Honestly the stuff you learn from grown your own personal accounts is the stuff they teach

in those courses.

So, in my opinion those courses weren't worth it because it's stuff that I already learned

before.

Now, from trying to grow your personal account.

If you just can't grow those platforms at all, I suggest working free at a digital agency.

Sometimes they just want someone to copy write.

Sometimes they just want someone to write a blog.

When you attend those things you kind of learn from the people around you.

You kind of make connections and this is ultimately something you can again add onto your resume.

So yeah it's actually that simple and again those were my opinions so if you like this

energy will reverberate in a dynamic way if you eat negative chronic food it

takes away energy and causes certain deviations in energy if you eat zero

pranic it brings lethargy and maybe you can eat it for taste to some extent we

look at this classification what are the foods which fall under this there's no

need to look at the positive because a whole lot of them more positive I can't

produce a list we look at the negative chronic list it's a much shorter list

list but unfortunately it may be a list of all your favorite things too and top

of the negative chronic list is garlic

garlic is a very powerful medicine but it's one thing to consume something as a

medicine and it's an entirely different thing to consume it as a daily food

substance it has many many medicinal qualities in Ayurveda and Siddha we use

garlic in a very powerful way for specific ailments but now your logic is

every day if I pop whatever medicine I can I will be healthy in I rather we say

like this every root every leaf found on this planet has some medicinal quality

it's just that only a few we have learned how to use others we are yet to

learn how to use otherwise every one of them has some medicinal quality if we

are willing to pay attention and learn how to use them so now if you want to be

healthy what you do is anyway it's fall time there's a lot of leaf just go and

eat as much leaf as possible and also take up a few roots and eat it you will

be very healthy that's not how it works something specific for a specific

problem is different just generally consuming medicinal substances is a

different game isn't it garlic is a very powerful medicine if properly used daily

consumption no no because it plays on your nervous system big time

it is a very strong nervous stimulant if you use garlic your nervous - nervous

system gets stimulated in a big way anything that stimulates now a system

holds you up for some time and then dumps you daily usage of nervous

stimulants in any form will slowly get you to a place that you become

insensitive to life that you cannot experience now you're holding dog is the

ideal because he's more sensitive than you his nervous system is far more

sensitive than you because he can feel things and know things that you cannot

know this is a higher design than the dog isn't it so shall I continue the

list or just I don't want to become unpopular here garlic onion and

supported green chillies Oh as a foodie there maybe you are not used to it it is

something very commonly used in Indian cooking it's a very strong stimulant

should I continue coffee tea

no T means the caffeine t is the T other things are just placebos okay they are

not T you can boil any flour any leave any route and call it t that's not t t

means the T leaf which is caffeine all these are nervous stimulants once in a

way if you drink they have some benefits but if it becomes a daily thing slowly

it dulls your nervous system your ability to experience life is gone we

are looking at this dimension of the food mainly in terms of your sensitive

sensitivity to life largely people are ego sensitive they are not life

sensitive they can't feel life for them only their thought and emotion is life

because they can't feel life if you walk out into the forest you can't feel the

tree that's why you call it a wood you can't feel the creatures around you

simply because the sensitivity is gone in so many ways one thing is just the

modern life this television this traffic this constant reverberations one thing I

find when I come here is one thing that makes me get out of buildings in this

country is always something is buzzing you know something is going it has a

very bad effect in the human system see we are also kind of reverberation there

must be space to allow our every reverberations to grow and spread now

these machines have such powerful reverberation constantly boom something

is going on and on top of it what we cannot hear all these Y files and stuff

they are doing their own thing yes in all this there is no room for you to

become life sensitive to sit here and be able to experience the whole universe

takes a certain level of sensitivity I am talking about nervous stimulants in

that context you are lowering the possibility of experiencing life see for

example if you just touch this not everybody will feel

to touch the same way do you know this it depends on how sensitive your system

is if you feel this you can know many things if you're willing so I'm not a

coffee hater alright but what I am saying is a cup of coffee should not

determine the quality of your life by choice you drink today tomorrow you walk

away it's fine if it's a compulsion if I don't drink my coffee my day is ruined

then you have to do something about it yes I am only talking about this the

only parameter is are you moving towards freedom or are you getting in slaved in

some way with a cup of liquid you shouldn't get enslaved yes with just

about anything you getting tangled up I'm saying do everything by choice then

there's no problem if you do it by choice you know when to start when to

stop isn't it if you do it by compulsion what you start you cannot stop this is

the whole problem it's not like you you become a fanatic I don't need this I

don't need that I eat this I don't need that don't become a food fanatic

it's just that eat by choice every meal must be by choice not that you've

decided this is what you will eat and this is what you will not eat don't make

food into religion it is not it is a choice and the choice should be

according to the needs of the body not according to social needs not according

to cultural needs according to the needs of this body isn't it

so among the positive planning foods there are a few foods which are very

very positive

on top of the list is what is called as an ash guard I think here they call it a

winter melon it is not of the same potency as we find in India the Indian

ash gourd is like phenomenal Asgard is very positive black pepper is very

positive honey is one substance on the planet whose chemical composition is

very close to that of human blood daily consumption of honey can do wonderful

things to you and honey is an extremely good thing to eat especially if you have

children at home make honey culture part of your thing psychological stability

physical well-being vitality all these things can be greatly enhanced simply

consuming daily honey if you have excess fat in your body if you drink honey with

warm water it breaks down the fat in the system if you drink it with cold water

it will give you weight when we say tamas rajas and that's at work what it

means is those kind of food substances which create lethargy in the system

dullness increases sleep sleep means that you're dead for eight hours a day

or 10 hours a day whatever or one third of your life your enemy dead

Raja's means you are active in the world activity without the necessary awareness

after some time you will get frustrated with activity because suddenly one day

when you stop and look you don't know why you're doing what you're doing

Tomasz means you're conscious it bring consciousness it's not just in food this

is in us we are also recognizing foods which support this that's all it is not

that food will cause these qualities in you you have this quality some should

support that some foods support that that's about it food is not

a deciding factor you can eat garbage and still be a Buddha but why it's

something which doesn't support you and go against it see it is like you bought

a diesel car and you put kerosene in it you buy a petrol car and you put diesel

in it it will still go but it will not function at its optimal so we should see

what kind of food are we designed for if you look at this fundamentally there are

various aspects which will tell you certain stories about what you should

eat now it is not only about human beings it is about the individual human

being right now what is the nature of your quality accordingly you should eat

if you live it your senses your senses know what to eat how much to eat how

much of what to eat but because too much education sense is

gone everything is by information what to eat they will google and see if you

you need initially you said if a farmer can be told about methodological

predictions if fisherman can be told about methodological productions how

things will happen I want you to understand even now the best fisherman

but now because of a little cerebral activity our thought and emotion has

overtaken us in such a way what you think and feel has become paramount your

psychological drama has bigger has become bigger than the cosmic drama yes

what you are thinking today isn't it more important than what's happening in

the entire cosmos so because of this fallacy because of this misunderstanding

because you're too engrossed in your own psychological drama you can't sense it

otherwise I must tell you this why I was living on a farm in a remote place

outside of myself many years ago I hired one guy who's hearing was very bad

because his hearing is bad he looks like a fool because he doesn't understand

what people say so in the village everybody makes fun of him they call him

names and things and you know treat him badly

so I said you come and live on my farm so he lived on he will simply sit like

this because he can't have conversations if I have to have conversation with him

I have to shout at him he will understand half the sentence so he

simply sits suddenly one day you gets up and starts preparing the plow and the

bullocks I said what are you doing he says no tomorrow we will plow I said Who

there is the rain says no it's going to rain tonight

look at the sky it's all empty sky how is it going to rain today no Swami it

will rain today and it will for sure rain today and tomorrow morning his

truth-loving at 5:30 in the morning and I thought oh this dumb idiot he knows

something that I don't know so I went there and had just liked him squatting

where he used to sit same place and I put my hand out like this like this

trying to feel the moisture temperature smell of the earth this this this I took

eighteen months every day I sat because I was insulted this dumb idiot know

something that I don't know I can't take it

so i sat there felt it watch the leaves watch the insect watch the birds then

today I will tell you if I say there's going to be rain 90% there is going to

be arraigned this is not some magic this is not some yoga this is just

observation that's how see if it's a question of

survival eat garbage and you survive what's the problem if it's about

survival I think largely we passed that situation of how to survive now it's a

question of choice we brought life to everything to a choice almost every

human being can choose and eat there still is a segment of unfortunate

population which cannot choose they have to eat what comes but that's not so in

this country definitely one can choose and eat

so once choice comes what to eat there's a whole dimension of how to know what to

eat and what not to eat if I go into this this an elaborate affair but every

human being can generate the necessary awareness that if food appears you know

what to eat and what not to eat above all what kind of food is your system

designed for that is the kind of food you eat

don't make food into your philosophy or a religion food is about the body it

must go through the system with minimum amount of resistance for example because

the question is about vegetarian or non-vegetarian how we look at the food

is if you eat any food what is happening is the food has to become a part of your

system it has to be integrated to become you if the food that you consume has a

very complex sense of memory and information then our body's ability to

break it and make it a part of our cells is reduced if you eat a simple memory

code or the genetic code in a particular creature let's say you eat a vegetable

it is very simple or in other words in the evolutionary scale

whatever is farthest away from you that's what you must consume or in other

words you never consume a mammal because it is too close to you and it's memory

is too complex and you will never be able to break it down 100% if you

consume this partly you break the breakdown the genetic code another part

of it remains or in other words gradually the animal qualities will

enter your system and unknowingly these things will find expression people are

going through anger stress just simply rage everywhere this is simply because

of the one main reason is the food that they're consuming so whatever is the

simplest memory code that is what you must consume so that easily you can

break it down and make it a part of yourself or whatever is furthest away

from you in the evolutionary scale that's the best thing so in that context

if you must eat non-vegetarian food the fish is the best thing to eat because it

is the first form of life on this planet as it gets more complex as you come

towards mammals is becoming very complex and that's not suitable for human

consumption we can show various parameters in the body the length of the

element we can all how things happen in the system if you look at all this

clearly the body is stating what it wants when it comes to food you should

not ask your doctor a guru or a nutritionist now you must ask your body

you eat something and see how quickly the food moves out of your stomach back

into the intestine if it's happening very quickly within 2 and 1/2 hours if

everything is gone that's good for to eat if it's lingering on between 4 to 6

hours that's not good thing to eat

out for yourself with the simple act of body condition scoring and be certain

that your pet is the healthiest version of themselves they can be

hi I'm Dr. Alex Avery from OurPetsHealth.com helping you and your pet to live a

healthier happier life today I want to show you that body condition scoring is

an incredibly useful tool used to determine if a dog or a cat is thin

perfect or fat best of all it is easy and quick to do and it's also free it's

something that we should all be doing in our pets reviewing regularly and being

honest with ourselves when we work out our own pets individual conditions score

now the body condition score is a hands-on test when you take no more than

a minute it involves no special equipment it is a test that our pets

will not know is taking place we simply need to answer three questions one can I

feel my pets ribs to so they have a waist from above and three does my pet

have a tummy tuck these answers allow us to score an animal on a scale of 1

through 9 which is their body condition score one means an animal is emaciated

and nine means they are morbidly obese ideal score is a four or five so let us

consider each of these questions in turn firstly are my pets ribs easy to feel

without having to press on the area now this is one of the first parameters to

disappear in any overweight pet so if you're having to apply pressure to feel the

ribs then your pet is certainly overweight whether they are a dog or a

cat gentle pressure would indicate a

condition score of 6 moderate pressure 7 and by condition score 8 the ribs are

only able to be felt with very firm pressure now the second question to

answer is does my pet have a clear waist when viewed from above this is the

next attribute to suffer with a clearly visible waist disappearing at around

conditions for 7 ideally we want to feel an hourglass shape as we run our hand

down from the backs of their ribs down to their hips using our hands rather

than just looking is very important especially in very hairy breeds where

coat length and type can obscure true body shape if rather than an hourglass

your pets abdomen is more of a rectangle than they are overweight as a condition

score 7 if the waist is actually becoming rounded like a balloon then

they are obese and at least a condition score 8 now the third and final

parameter is tummy tuck which we look at by viewing our pet from the

and in long haired breeds again it is essential to feel for tummy tuck

abdominal tuck is the last attribute to vanish in dogs so if it has gone then

your pooch is certainly obese with a condition score of 8 or 9 now the

situation is slightly different for cats and that they only have a tuck when they

are a condition score 4 or less what we can use however is the presence of an

abdominal fat pad now this is the area of blubber that develops at the back of

the tummy between the back legs in overweight and obese cats it generally

becomes noticeable at a condition score 6 or 7 it is prominent at a score of 8

and grows larger and larger as more weight is gained in most obese cats

this will be an area that is clearly visible when the cat is walking with the

fat pad swaying from side to side now there are clearly some breed differences

in that a greyhound is unlikely to ever lose this abdominal tuck and a

Bulldog may lose its waist a little earlier but in general this tool

correlates very well with more advanced tests to determine body fat levels and

best of all it's free and can be done by anyone so has your pet come in at a

perfect 4 or 5 well with up to 40% of our pets being overweight you're not

alone if your pet is a little on the heavy side now to rectify this and to

help improve your pets quality of life and extend their life expectancy head

over to our obesity and weight loss video series get started on the road to

a healthier happier pet today now you'll notice that I haven't talked about

underweight body conditions now the reason for this is that only a very tiny

percentage of the pet population will fall into this category generally

speaking though if you can see the ribs and if the bones of the pelvis and spine

or hips are clearly visible then your pet will be underweight if they're eating

well if they're not losing weight if they're generally happy then increasing

their food by 25 to 50 percent should result in a healthy weight gain

if increasing the diet doesn't help within a couple of weeks and even

otherwise healthy seeming pets should be examined thoroughly by their vet now if

your dog or cat is underweight if it has a poor appetite and if they are losing

weight if their stools are a strange color or consistency or if they're

drinking or toileting more or if they seem unwell for any other reason and

they must be checked out by your vet to make sure there is not an underlying

cause of this poor body condition ok so if your pet is a healthy weight

brilliant let's make sure we keep it that way by regularly condition scoring

them and acting if things change if your pet

is overweight then you've just completed the first step of any weight loss

program recognizing the problem they are already on their way to a healthier

Have you heard about the IRAC method but don't know how to use it?

In this episode I will explain IRAC and show you how to use it on a law school exam.

Hi, this is Beau Baez, and today I want to explain how to use the IRAC method, which

is an organizational system for essay exams.

By using this method, your essay will be written in a way that will earn you more points on

an exam.

Why you ask?

Because IRAC, used properly, will help you to focus your attention on the analysis that

exam graders are looking for.

IRAC stands for Issue, Rule, Analysis, and Conclusion.

The issue statement is what the you are going to discuss.

For example, in a criminal law essay, you might create the following issue statement:

the issue is whether Frank is liable for the first degree murder of Carla when he stabbed

her with a knife.

Or in Torts, you might have an issue like this: "Did Carlos commit the tort of negligence

when he drove down the highway at night without his headlights, hitting Mariah.

As you can see, the issue statement should provide the primary issue, the names of the

plaintiff and the name of the defendant.

The Rule statement is where you define the rule of law, legal term, or legal concept.

In a contracts essay dealing with formation, the rule might read like this: "To form

a valid contract, there must be an offer, acceptance, and consideration."

Or in Civil Procedure, you might see something like this: "An out of state defendant being

sued in the state must have personal jurisdiction in the forum state.

The defendant can he haled into the jurisdiction if the defendant has minimum contacts with

that State."

The key here is to clearly articulate whatever rule you will be analyzing in the next section.

The analysis, also called, application section, is where you take the facts that you were provided

in the essay question, and you weave them with the rule of law to support whatever conclusion

you have reached.

In other words, you need to prove to the grader that you know how and why the facts apply

to the legal rule.

Going back to our negligence example, the analysis section might read: "Carlos was

driving his car at night without headlights.

Though he could see by moon light, his car was not visible to others on the road.

So when Mariah pulled out from a side street, she did not see Carlos' car, resulting in

severe injury to Mariah.

When you write this section, assume the grader is a sceptic, but can be persuaded by a good

argument.

Throwing out facts, without making logical connections to the law is merely a story.

Don't write a story.

Finally, end with a short conclusion.

Something like: because all of the elements to met, Frank is liable for first degree murder.

Now w hat I have provided you with is an overview of the IRAC method.

To use it better, make sure to watch my episode on Nested IRAC.

Otherwise, you may end up with a jumbled mess.

Some final notes.

IRAC is an organizational method, which can help you get better grades.

The genius behind this approach is that you can quickly determine if the paragraph is

missing something.

Suppose that you are writing a paragraph dealing with a valid offer in contracts.

If the paragraph only has two sentences, you know something is missing.

After all, a paragraph using this method will have at least four sentences.

Also, this method is not a guarantee that you will get A's.

I have seen students get F's on my exam, even though they used the IRAC method.

They flunked because they either did not know the law, spotted the wrong issues, or babbled

on about their opinions.

On the other hand, an A paper almost always uses the IRAC method.

This means you still need to do the hard work of preparing for the final by using flashcards

and doing practice exams.

Earlier this year, the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine issued

a white paper on what can be done to help prevent dementia.

It said based on the best scientific evidence we have, the 3 most promising ways to protect

yourself against memory loss are:

Brain training

Exercise

Controlling blood pressure

It specifically specifically singled out the BrainHQ program.

And that was before the most recent results, which only reaffirm the benefit of this training.

Now to be clear, I am not endorsing BrainHQ.

I use it personally, because the evidence is just so strong.

But there are a handful of other good brain training programs out there to consider.

Just know this.

There's a big difference between science-backed braining training and so-called brain games

like Sudoku or crossword puzzles for Words with Friends.

These games are fun an wildly popular.

But as any neurologist will tell you, when you play these games, you only get better

at that particular game.

They don't improve cognition or protect you from dementia.

For that, you need real brain training.
