The VASIMR Engine: How to Get to Mars in 40 Days - Duration: 5:35.

[♪ INTRO]

Someday, we're going to send people to Mars, and it's gonna be awesome.

But for now, everyone from NASA to Elon Musk

is still trying to figure out the best way to do it.

With today's rockets, a one-way trip to Mars takes somewhere around seven months,

but one company is developing an engine

that might be able to get us there in only forty days.

It's called the VASIMR engine, and it propels spacecraft using a jet of plasma.

VASIMR stands for Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket,

and the idea behind it has actually been around since the 1970s.

But engineers didn't make too much progress on it until 2015,

when NASA gave the Ad Astra Company a grant to develop it as part of their NextSTEP program.

It works using a kind of electric propulsion,

and it's a big step up from the other engines available right now.

To get your rocket into space, you'd still need a chemical engine, which generates thrust

with a reaction that releases tons of gas, like combining hydrogen and oxygen.

So far, that's the only kind of engine we have

that's powerful enough to get a heavy rocket to space.

But once you're there, you can move it with all kinds of things,

from ions to particles of light, depending on what your mission is.

Right now, any spacecraft that would send people to Mars would still use a chemical engine,

because we mostly have the technology figured out.

But carrying all that fuel also adds a lot of weight.

So newer kinds of engines use electric propulsion, often in the form of ion thrusters,

which create a beam of charged atoms, or ions, to push your spacecraft around.

Ion engines are a lot more efficient than chemical engines,

but they aren't designed to handle large payloads,

like a bunch of humans and all the supplies they'd need for a trip to Mars.

So we mostly use ion thrusters for small satellites.

VASIMR also uses electric propulsion, but it will be way more powerful.

It propels the spacecraft by creating plasma,

in the form of a super hot jet of ions and electrons.

Unlike other kinds of electric propulsion, it uses radio waves to heat the plasma,

rather than electrodes or other electronics in ion engines.

Which among other things, makes the engine a lot more durable.

To make the plasma, it starts by pumping a gas like hydrogen or argon into a tube,

which is surrounded by a magnet and two couplers, a kind of device that emits radio waves.

Most kinds of gas will work, which makes VASIMR really versatile,

but hydrogen is a good choice if you want a lightweight, easy-to-find fuel.

Once the gas is pumped in, the first coupler strips some of the electrons off their atoms

and turns the gas into plasma.

At this point, it's already very hot, around 5500 degrees Celsius,

but then, the second coupler makes it even hotter.

It raises the plasma to 10 million degrees Celsius,

which isn't that far from the temperature inside the Sun.

A magnetic nozzle then turns that super hot plasma into a nice, controllable jet,

and it's shot out of the end of the engine.

Besides being more durable, VASIMR is great because it also has different settings,

like the gears on a car, which means it can generate the right amount of thrust

for different kinds of missions.

So besides getting people to Mars, it could also be scaled down

to send small satellites zooming around the Earth.

But most importantly for our future astronauts, VASIMR can be made

big and powerful enough to move human-sized spacecraft.

Ion engines just aren't ready to do that yet, partly because many tend to rely on more

mechanical parts than VASIMR, some of which aren't designed to work on a large scale.

Although engineers are working on that, too.

Still, there is one thing we need to figure out before VASIMR is ready to go:

the power supply.

It takes a lot of power to produce all those radio waves,

especially if you want an engine strong enough to push a crew of astronauts.

Solar panels can generate enough power to propel small satellites,

but we'd need something a lot stronger for a full-sized spacecraft.

And our best option is probably using a small nuclear reactor.

But because those have the potential to be really dangerous,

we'll want to make sure that we're extra confident in that technology

before we start using nuclear power to transport people through space.

Right now, the goal for the VASIMR team is to develop an engine

so it can fire for 100 consecutive hours at 100 kilowatts of power,

which is 10 to 100 times more power than an ion thruster has.

To get to Mars in 40 days, you'd still need a lot more power than that,

like, 2000 times more power.

And that's probably where a nuclear reactor would come in.

But for now, 100 kilowatts is a good start.

Ad Astra's plans with NASA are to have the engine ready

for the 100 kilowatt goal by the summer of 2018.

As of last August, they'd fired the engine for around 10 hours, so they're making progress.

Still, even after they meet that goal, VASIMR will need to go through

plenty of development and tests before we use it to go anywhere.

So when the first human steps on Mars, we'll probably have made it there

with a chemical engine, since that technology is a lot more developed.

But someday, our trips to Mars could be a whole lot faster.

Thanks for watching this episode of SciShow Space!

If you thought getting to Mars in 40 days sounded cool,

you can watch our episode on photonic propulsion,

where we explain how we could someday get to Mars in only three days … at least in theory.

But I wouldn't hold your breath.

I promise I don't want nobody else to be around me but you

And nobody's touch and nobody lips can make me feel like yours do

Packing a Suit Jacket | How to Avoid Wrinkles When Traveling with Your Formalwear - Duration: 3:55.

Hi there, it's Ernest from Trip Astute. In this video, we're going to show you an

easy way to deal with a common travel problem -- packing a suit jacket.

(light chiming music)

Traveling for a formal event can often be challenging, especially when you need to

bring formalwear with you. One item that I found to be tough to pack is a suit

jacket. So in this video, I want to show you a quick and easy way to pack a

jacket in your suitcase. Keep in mind that there are many different ways to do

it. However, most follow the same general

principle and idea. To start off, you'll want to push one shoulder inside out,

then tuck the other shoulder into it, trying to match the seams. You'll want the

sleeves to lie straight down on top of one another. From here, I lay the jacket

down and I roll it from top to bottom. You don't want to roll it too tight, but

just enough that you can place it in your bag or suitcase. Some people like to

fold their jackets instead of rolling it. I'm not opposed to it, but I think you

should use whatever method works best for you. For me,

rolling the jacket seems to minimize the amount of creases in the jacket, so I

tend to use that method. In addition, here are a couple of tips to consider when

packing a jacket. Number one: Consider wearing the jacket on the plane. If you

want to avoid packing your jacket, you may want to wear it on the plane or

place it in the overhead bin. This might save a few wrinkles, as well as some

space in your bag. Number two: Use a large packing cube. Those of you that have been

watching this channel know that I love packing cubes, and really anything that

helps me organize my suitcase when traveling. For suits,

I recommend placing them in a large packing cube. It not only keeps your

suitcase tidy, but it helps keep the jacket tightly rolled and minimizes the

amount of movement while in the bag. For more information on packing cubes check

out our gear review. Number three: Try not to over-stuff your suitcase. You don't

want to have so much stuff that you end up crushing the jacket in your bag.

Ideally you want your bag to be full so the garment doesn't move around, but not

overloaded. You definitely don't want to have to sit on your suitcase in order to

get it closed. Number four: Utilize your hotel's pressing

services. Most hotels offer some sort of pressing service. Prices will vary

depending on the destination and hotel. However, if you're attending a special

event or an important business interview, it might be worth using the hotel

service to look sharp. Number five: Take a hot shower. This is a little trick that a

lot of business travelers use. When taking a hot shower, hang your clothes in

the bathroom. The steam from the shower will help to release some of the

wrinkles from your clothes. This isn't foolproof, but I've used it

multiple times for different types of clothing, and it seems to work pretty

well. Number six: Use a garment bag. A garment bag is a great idea if you

happen to be traveling by car or train. However, I'm a bit hesitant to recommend

them for air travel, only because I've seen people be forced to check in their

garment bags at the gate. Also, if you're like me and prefer not to check in a bag

when traveling, the garment bag usually counts as your carry-on bag, which can

make things difficult. Do you have any tips on transporting your formal wear

when traveling? If so, please share them in the comment section below.

John Mayer Still Checks In With Ex Katy Perry | Daily Celebrity News | Splash TV - Duration: 1:19.

John Mayer doesn't find anything weird about checking in on his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry,

especially when thousands of her fans are doing the same thing.

During Mayer's appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the singer admits that he checked

in on Katy Perry's four-day YouTube live stream she did to promote her new album, "Witness."

According to E! Online, Mayer said "I think you'd have to watch all 96 hours to get

the final verdict.

That's her thing, man – to go big and bold.

Yeah, I checked in with it.

It's definitely odd to watch your ex-girlfriend sleep."

The singer has his reasoning.

He tells the show, "The way I see things now, I call it 'standing in the middle of

the boat.'

If someone says, 'I don't watch that,' it's like, 'Yes, you do.'

You know?

It's like if you want to text someone…

I texted Katy happy birthday.

It was 4 in the morning.

It was like a post-midnight, haven't-gone-to-sleep-yet, it's-technically-your-birthday send.

Because how weird is it to be like, 'I want to say happy birthday to you now, but I'm

going to wait until tomorrow afternoon…'

Be a person, man."

And naturally, Mayer believes that keeping up with his ex is just the human thing to

do.

TOP STRATEGY for IELTS Speaking Part 2 - Duration: 8:23.

how can you get a high score on the speaking part of the IELTS exam

this is Susan Brodar from SPEAK Languages & TRAVEL the World here to

help you improve your English with minimum effort maximum benefits now the

IELTS exam as many has to be faced with strategies because if you don't follow

strategies you will not give the examiners all the things they want to

know therefore it's very important to follow strategies to get a high score

now in my opinion the best authority on IELTS is IELTS advantage the website

that Chris Bell founded and he's really made a wonderful website with a lot of

free materials which will teach you step by step how you can get a high score so

I recommend you check out his website and down in the comments box below you

can find the link to his website so I got inspiration from his speaking

strategies and would like to share with you yes the speaking strategies so let

me show you a document which you can also download I'll put a download link

in the description below and therefore you can have all the strategy points in

front of you if you want to practice this part of the exam is the speaking

part - and there's a specific strategy for that it's divided into five parts

and the first part is the introduction so when you get this card which will

have written on what you have to say what you have to talk about and some

suggestions of what you should cover you use this card as a guideline it's not

necessary to answer all the individual parts but it is necessary to address the

subject that is at the top of the cards the introduced topic by saying something

like I'd like to talk about then you should transition into the past

with a linking word for example anyhow and then demonstrate your capability of

using various past forms such as used to plus the infinitive if you want to talk

about past habits or states that are now finished or using would plus infinitive

if you want to describe past habits using the simple past to talk about

things you did in the past that you no longer do now or if you use the past

continuous you can talk about the context of a story or how you felt at a

particular time and then there's the path perfect to say something that

happens before something else in the past so that way you've demonstrated a

series of past tenses before going into a more lengthy description by saying so

let me tell you about whatever the topic is in a little more detail and here you

have to use specific vocabulary on common topics expanding on the

vocabulary with examples and then you need to give your opinion so you could

say something like in my opinion or according to me and you could also say

something such as I strongly believe that if you have strong opinions to

finish the last part is the future you can demonstrate the future by saying

well regarding the future and you carry on with the subject so that you can

demonstrate various future forms such as the present continuous with talking

about fixed arrangements or be going to plus infinitive if you're going to talk

about future plans will or won't infinitive before predictions

then the future perfect I think there's a bit trickier that's used to say

something that will have happened before something else but that's you have to be

good at using so I would be careful on that last one now I'd like to give you

an example of a card with a topic so that we can put this into a more

meaningful meaningful context for you so let's imagine that the card says

describe a teacher that you know and then they suggest you should say what

the teacher looks like what sort of person is teacher is what the teacher

helps you to learn and explain why explain why this teacher is popular I've

taken this card as an example because I decided to use a personal experience of

mine which I recommend doing it makes it easier if you go back on to your

personal experiences but the last part explain why the teacher is popular is

not pertinent because this teacher of mine was not popular so as I said those

are only guidelines you don't have to actually follow them so the introductory

part I would say I'd like to talk about a teacher I had at Middle School who

taught us maths he was middle-aged with short gray hair anyhow this teacher was

extremely strict and used to shout at us if we didn't pay attention he would give

us clear explanations so he was an excellent maths teacher but he was

always scaring us before we had even done something so let me tell you about

my maths teacher in a little more detail one day when I was only 11 years old he

told us to put our pencils down in order to follow his explanation on the board I

was really bad at maths so I copied some parts from the blackboard suddenly he

saw me writing and he marched to the front of my desk put his face one

centimeter from mine and outed really loudly I told you to put

your pencils down I could see his ginger eyebrows trembling in front of my eyes

as he shouted and my knees started shaking under my desk from that day on I

was terrified of him in my opinion despite his exaggeratedly strict

attitude he was one of the best teachers I ever had I'm strongly against teachers

who use their authority to terrify and humiliate students however I must admit

I think his methodical approach to teaching was the most effective for

teaching maths regarding the future I think I'll always remember one of the

most important inspirations he gave us never be afraid to aim too high I'm

going to teach young people to aim high okay so this would be the strategy to

follow it's only a guideline but this is what I intend if you follow the

guideline through from the introduction to the past the description with more

detail your opinion and a future you've given a wide range of expressions

grammatical tenses yes you've generally explained yourself covering a wide range

of structures and therefore you've given the examiner what he wants to know so I

recommend you follow this strategy don't forget to check out IELTS advantage from

the link in the description and I'd be welcoming any feedback from you in the

comments below look forward to hearing from you soon good luck with your exams

and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't done so yet I

Didn't you know I'd say yes?

Didn't you know I'd say yes? Yeah, I knew you'd say yes.

Yeah, I knew you'd say yes.

(Laughing).. I knew she'd say yes.

I wasn't nervous. I wasn't scared.

(Nervous laughter)

Yeah you were.

Yeah I was.

(Laughing)

Well I think typically, yeah, the man has the harder job

when it comes to getting engaged.

We got to, you know, plan this out perfectly.

(Laughing)

I had no plan

but I was just like you know

I'm in my sweaty work clothes

and I'm just going to do it when I get there.

When he knelt down

I literally thought he was joking.

(Laughing)

I would have taken a shower.

Same on the shower and

maybe planned it a little bit better

instead of just running upstairs.

So it just wasn't the moment I'd expected

but it was absolutely the moment I wanted

when it happened.

When people ask like, you know...

"Tell us the proposal story."

We're able to tell this like kind of funny

Color Mixing Guide--Make It Yourself (Mis Vid) - Duration: 6:05.

The purpose of this video is to show you how to make reference cards with the colors that you use. Each color is

Obviously different, but colors can vary even from brand to brand so in order to be able to predict

What colors you'll get when you paint it's best to have a reference

There are books that will break this all down for you

but they may or may not be using

your brand of colors. This video breaks down how to make a color swatch with two colors and

All the colors you can find in between those colors and also some lighter versions of those same colors

This is so helpful to have as a reference

Everybody's got an opinion about how to mix your colors,

but you know what? You just gotta do it yourself.

I did it myself and I'll show ya how I did it myself and you can do it yourself.

This is gonna be a fun tutorial, I can already tell.

Here is burnt umber burnt sienna and

Titanium white I'm going to make this reference using my pallet knife instead of

a paintbrush this saves time because a pallet knife is much

easier to clean. See that reference we're gonna make?

You can have one for every combo of your paints, yours!

Do you see how awesome it's gonna be?

All I have to do is get a paper towel and pinch around the pallet knife and pull the paint off because of the thickness

of the sides of the pallet knife

I also have to wipe down the edges

Otherwise when I use the pallet knife to take a new color, the new color will become contaminated

With the paint on the edge of the pallet knives

Is it really, necessary to exercise that degree of perfectionism

I suppose not

Starting with burnt umber the pure color comes out of the tube

And I'm mixing white to see what sort of hue it is when the value is lighter

Whoah!! Did she just say what hue is?

If you add white it's the same hue because hue means color.

It's the same color. It's just lighter that means

It's a different value. I can thank me for your art education with tuition I mean

A comment below.

There's what mixing looks like.

Here we can see a range of values and what they look like from burnt umber. It's a short range

I do the same thing on the opposite side of the card with burnt sienna next I want to mix a color

That is halfway between burnt sienna and burnt umber on the first pass I take an equal part burnt umber and burnt sienna

And mix them together, but the result looks more like burnt umber than burnt sienna

This color is too burnt umber!

The result is not in the middle which is typical. When I'm looking for the middle

I want something that looks to the visual eye like it's the middle not necessarily

what I get from mixing equal parts. Darn!

Now that I've added some burnt sienna. It looks too close to the burnt sienna and not close enough to the burnt umber

Ugh! This color is too burnt sienna!

Adding just a smidgen more of burnt umber

I'm getting a color that I feel is not looking so close to either of its parent colors and

Visually seems to be in the middle

(Gasp) This color is just right!

So here's the updated

reference card with burnt number on the right burnt sienna on the left and our middle color in the middle you can see in the

Top section that I scrape little lines the reason I did this is because these colors are fairly

Transparent when they're applied thinly we can see through them. I want to be able to see what color

I'm gonna get if I apply the paint

Thinly and also what it would look like if I'm applying it thickly

I don't make the same

Marks in these lower colors because they have so much white in them that they are not transparent light is opaque

If I tried out for Goldilocks, do you think I'd get the part?

As you can see trying to find the color between burnt umber and the middle is very difficult

It gets a little tedious making these color swatches, but you learn so much

And, you gonna save paint in the long run,

And you can use it as a reference and save frustration and it's worth it!

Looking at this swatch of color it seems too dark to be compared to this one

But it kind of looks like it matches with this one

This is where it gets tricky because ideally I want them to all be about the same lightness or darkness

I did end up lightening this one a little

But I didn't want to go too light because this one's pretty dark and these seem to match too. In retrospect it probably

Would have been the best thing to actually darken this one a little bit, but I didn't do that. It's okay

The more you do these types of swatches the better you get at it

Practice makes perfect!

I gotta practice my hairdoing skills a little bit!

But this serves my purpose. Here, I've labeled my new swatch and hung it up with the others

I've written down the names of the colors. I used there I made note of how transparent or opaque

It was as well as the code for the color

PBr7 I was really baffled by this

PBr7 because each color is supposed to have an

Individual number based on what it's made out of and I was confused that these two different colors had the same code on it

So I googled it looking for a reason why and I found out that they're actually made out of the same

Material the different colors come from the amount of heat applied to the original pigment

Mystery solved, thank you, Google.

So here is my new color swatch added to my wall

(applause)

Click to subscribe and comment below, I promise to respond like a normal person.

Ep. 1 - You don't need the experts. Diversify your own portfolio! - Duration: 10:43.

What's up world

This is stocks in the streets where we focus on pure

Investing without the bakin soda boric acid or all the other crap that analysts try to throw your way

Simply put we give it to you straight forward no cut

investing made simple

Let's say one day you woke up and went to check your bank account and the bank had made a mistake and

Accidentally added a hundred racks into your account

What would you do?

Would you call them like hey you guys made a mistake?

You've put too much money in my account. You need to take it out. Would you go to the bank and immediately make a withdrawal?

Well, I don't know and I can't answer that question for you

But what I can do is

Tell you how to make your money work for you so that you can have a continuous stream of funds into your account

When you come around to the point of retirement?

Regardless of where you are right now

So back to this hypothetical

So let's assume there you are

Sitting there with 100 racks cash

It doesn't matter if it came from the bank or a bank error if it was a gift if you hustle for it

Or if you hit a lick. Either way, it's yours

Now my next question is what are you going to do with that money?

do you pay off your house you buy a new whip a

supercharged motor for your old school drop

Maybe you're already riding clean. You just want to grab a new set of Forgi's you?

Can't go wrong with Forgi's, right?

Now some of you may be asking yourself. Why do I make so many automobile references?

Well, that's because when I was younger that was my mindset

We didn't have much we were growing up

But I didn't complain because we always seemed to have just enough I mean the light stay torn

I had a place to sleep. I had my people my family

You know I'm certain my family did the best they could to raise me and teach me right from wrong

But unfortunately the whole financial side of things really wasn't talked about you know I never learned anything about managing money

I didn't learn about investing until later on in life

You know by the time I was a teenager

I

Felt like I had life all figured out

You know I went out started making my own decisions, and I'll say when I was a late team maybe in my early 20s

You know I managed to turn a few numbers and do a little bit of this and a little bit of that

You know quite honestly. I probably had too much money for my own good

Like I know without a doubt in my mind that I tricked off over a hundred G's in a year before

It's crazy, right

I'm sure some of you watching this video have blown through way more than that and didn't even trip about it. You know

But I've always had a love for cars so I always wanted to have a couple of toys

To bring out at night in a cooler under bucket with some tents for the daytime

But since I was never taught what to do with money when I had a little I pretty much waste it out

Wasted at all on stuff cars. You know a little bit of jewelry coats the voo Chi jackets were big back then

But anyways all that stuff, just just appreciates, and it doesn't bring you any additional value over the years

Now if you can relate to some or even most of what I just talked about

That you probably understand how the game goes how the game works, and if you understand the game

Then you pretty much already understand how the stock market works

Allowed me to begin explaining

Let's say it was time for you to read up and you got on through a friend of a friend

But by the time they got to you you realize you had a whole bunch of Reggie

Now of course you're gonna be disappointed and let's assume that they've already disappeared and your money is gone also

It happens. It's the name of the game. We all take ills every once in a great while

Well the same thing is going to happen in a stock market. You will take some males

now

imagine that a slightly different scenario

You gave somebody use some paper to get on for you in let's let's say you just sent them after a zip right now

That's not all your bread

But that's a little bit that you had to invest towards whatever you got going on so they come back

We assume it's some Reggie again. Now. You still want to be pissed, but you didn't take as nearly

Of a hit because you didn't have everything right there. You didn't give them your all. That's what?

Diversifying your portfolio is all about now

This is a term you're gonna hear a lot you're gonna hear people on TV talking about it. You'll probably have friends. Maybe family

You're read articles talking about that first to find your portfolio

Basically all they're saying is don't put all your eggs in one basket

You know taking ales or part of the game?

How you bounce back from it is what's gonna determine the extent to which you're able to shine

So if you've ever taken the L in a game you know what it feels like to take an L in a stock market

Nothing is guaranteed

Doesn't matter who or why or what it's calls from just always know. There's a possibility that you can take a loss

Now

Rule number one when it comes to investing

Never ever ever ever ever ever

Invest your money in a company that you don't fully understand I

Don't care what your friends. See it. I don't care if you feel like you got a tip from somebody. I don't care

What the analysts say or in terms of you it shouldn't even matter what I say

Unless you're fully in

The know of that company, and how it works some of this intricacies what the company has going on product releases

You do not want to take you don't want to spend your money or invest your money into that company

Now going back to the concept of diversifying or kind of spreading your money about

It would be almost useless if I ask you to hey

I need you to read and study 100 to 200 different companies, and I want you to know everything about them

The rally reality is it's not going to happen in

fact if you were going to look for any single company

if I'm a or entity to invest in I

Will tell you that you probably need to bet your money on the United States of America. I mean think about it

We all know how much they hitting over the hair for, Texas

We know how much attorney fees are we know how much it costs to pace, but post post bond

We know how much it costs for speeding tickets

Here's the thing the US economy is going to continue generating money. We know that this is the richest a

country in the world so

instead of trying to figure out how to beat the US economy I

Think the wise thing to do is invest your money and grow with our economy

So of all the money that you invest I am a firm believer that 90 percent

of it should be placed in a Standard & Poor 500 index fund or

S&P

500 index fund

This index or this type of index is going to track the 500 largest companies in the United States

And you base basically invest a little bit of money into each of them

This means that even if 50 of the companies have a bad year

You still have 450 other companies who may be having great years to kind of offset some of those losses

This is a straightforward way of

Diversifying without trying to become an expert in the market

Now

if you watch the video this for I'm sure your next question is

Where do I go to invest or how do I do it?

Well first things first if you do not have a nine of five and have never had a night of five

Do not I repeat

do not

dump

$100,000 into a brokerage account and try to buy stocks if you do I can

Guarantee that then people will be to see you

Now hopefully he's got a legit paper trail for your money, so your investments don't raise any red flags

so a brokerage account or

pretty much a broker is a middleman a

Broker is like that dude in the neighborhood who always knows somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody

Who always happens to have exactly what you're looking for well just like in the streets

They are all hustlers as long as you go through them you best believe they will be taxing you

Will just call this the middleman tax just to simplify things

Well, that's the same way the game works now in the streets you may not find someone who was willing to turn you on to

their plug, but when it comes to investing the name of the game is a bit different

that's why I'm here to share my plug with you now I

messed with a few brokers for various reasons, but then when it comes to getting started and just

Beginning a tinkerer in the stock market a little bit. I am a huge fan of the Robin Hood app

Now why this app well for beginners they don't charge a commission each time you trade

The other companies you go to buy something

They hit you over the head you go to sell it they hit you over the head again

Trust me over the course of multiple years that adds up big time, but that's how to get a paper that middleman tax

So about the Robin Hood and in fact if you click the link in the description and sign up for that Robin Hood app

Check down below. You'll also receive one free share of a stock. It'll be a random stock, but it's free

It'll probably be back valued anywhere from three dollars on up worst case scenario. You can sell it and grab a little something

I don't know but

Anyways once you have the app there are three

S&P 500 funds

That I want you to add to your watchlist within the app

The ticker for each of those funds is vo o IV V and

SP Y so check out my next video as I explain the significance of these three options

Again this is stocks in the streets taken up a soda in the b12 no-cut investing made simple

Filter them in the morning as soon as you wake up.

5 CHEFS Who Tragically DIED on the JOB - Duration: 6:18.

5 Chefs Who Tragically Died On The Job

The demands of working in a kitchen can be physically strenuous and mentally exhausting.

The following is a list of 5 chefs who died tragically on the job.

1 - Decapitated Cobra

In August 2014, Chinese chef Peng Fan was preparing a meal for diners in his restaurant.

The specialty for the day was snake soup with an Indochinese spitting cobra as the main

ingredient.

Fan chopped the head off the cobra, cut up the meat, and began the stew.

Twenty minutes later, he went to discard the head.

As Fan picked up the cobra's decapitated head, it bit him on the hand.

Suddenly, screams began echoing from the kitchen, causing commotion in the restaurant and diners

to discard their food.

The venom that entered Fan's hand killed him before emergency personnel arrived.

But how could such a thing happen when the reptile has been killed?

Dr. Matthew Lewin, director of California Academy of Sciences' Center for Exploration

and Travel Health, explained, "Unlike humans, snake tissue can withstand long periods without

circulating blood.

The tissue doesn't lose function as quickly as a mammal and the reflexes remain intact."

2 - Scott McLeod

Scott McLeod, 41, was a successful top chef who had worked in some of the finest Latin

restaurants in Philadelphia.

He had received numerous accolades for his spin on Latin cuisine, including two bells

from The Inquirer's Craig LaBan.

On a personal level, McLeod was described as being very friendly.

He was also a workout fanatic who was covered in tattoos.

On a Sunday evening in March 2015, McLeod was working as the executive chef at Alma

de Cuba in Philadelphia's old city neighborhood.

That night during dinner service hours, McLeod was found unresponsive in a locked bathroom

of the restaurant.

Emergency personnel were called by frantic coworkers, and McLeod was taken to the hospital.

Unfortunately, the executive chef could not be revived and was pronounced dead a short

time later.

Following an autopsy, the coroner reported that the 41-year-old had succumbed to heart

disease, a condition perhaps overlooked in a physically active man in his early forties.

3 - P.F.

Chang's

In 2002, 38-year-old Elivelton Dias moved to Peabody, Massachusetts, to escape the growing

violence in his home country of Brazil.

He became employed as a sous-chef at P.F.

Chang's and happily worked for the restaurant chain for many years.

In 2015, his wife had just given birth to their first child.

However, everything came crashing down when the police were called to the restaurant during

the dinner rush hour.

They found Dias lying on the kitchen floor.

He had literally been stabbed in the back.

Dias was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The culprit was a 23-year-old fellow chef, Jaquan Huston.

The two men had gotten into an altercation.

Then Huston grabbed a knife and stabbed Dias.

Huston fled from the scene but was arrested later at his home.

Huston has been charged with first-degree murder.

4 - Terrifying Discovery

In March 2016, the owner of Lee's Cafe and Bistro, a Vietnamese restaurant in Philadelphia,

went to the kitchen in the basement to check on the chef.

A food order had been placed 10 minutes earlier but had never arrived.

The owner found Thuong Nguyen, the 54-year-old chef, lying on the kitchen floor in a pool

of blood with her throat slashed.

Moments later, frantic coworkers flagged down a patrol officer outside the restaurant.

But Nguyen was already dead.

Police stated that the scene of the crime showed signs of a struggle.

At the time of the murder, there were five customers and four employees inside the restaurant.

Later, police stated that a fellow employee—identified only as Noelle—was a suspect in the horrendous

crime.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with knowledge of the suspect's whereabouts is asked to contact the police.

A $20,000 reward for information leading to his arrest has been offered.

5 - Brown's Chicken And Pasta Massacre

To pursue the American dream, 46-year-old Guadalupe Maldonado moved his wife and three

children to Chicago from Mexico.

In Chicago, he worked as a cook at Brown's Chicken & Pasta restaurant.

Although he wasn't making a lot of money, he loved his job and the opportunity to give

his family a better life.

Like clockwork, Maldonado was always home by 10:00 PM.

So when 1:30 AM rolled around one day with no word from him, his family became extremely

concerned.

On that cold January night in 1993, two men had walked into the restaurant shortly before

closing time at 9:00 PM.

Moments later, a robbery ensued.

Lynn Ehlenfeldt, 49, was ordered to open the safe.

After doing so, she was told to turn around.

Then her throat was slashed.

Another employee tried to make a run for it but was shot in the back and killed.

The remaining five employees, including Maldonado, were ordered into the freezer and executed.

The case went unsolved for nine years until police arrested Juan Luna and James Degorski

with the help of DNA evidence.

Luna and Degorski were convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

How to Sew a Hidden Button Placket - Duration: 4:55.

Hey guys Bonnie here from BonnieandBlithe.com and I have a really fun tutorial

for you today for a hidden button placket now if you don't know what a placket is

it's that part on your shirt, pants, dress, whatever that the buttons and button

holes attach to. A hidden placket just means that you cannot see the buttons on

the exterior of the garment so get ready you're gonna love it

the first thing we need to do is to cut out two separate placket pieces

The placket pieces measure 4 x 9.5 inches and 6.5 x 9.5 inches

I fold each of my placket pieces in half lengthwise and

press them so that there's a center fold now set these pieces aside

we're going to cut a slit down the center of our bodice or wherever we want our placket to be

In this example the opening is 8.5 inches deep.

I then cut a second slit next to this first slit about 1/2 inch away also 8.5" deep

Go ahead and cut out that center strip and create a small

little triangle flap of fabric at the bottom of the opening. Now go ahead and

place a pin in the left side of the opening, that is the wearer's right side

of the garment. This will help us remember which side we're working with first

Flip the garment over so that you're looking at the back side and take

the larger placket piece and lay it flush with this opening. The right side of your

placket piece will be touching the wrong side of your bodice and you're going to

stitch down this raw edge we're using a quarter inch seam allowance now flip the

garment right-side up again and pull the placket piece away from the garment and

press that seam flat with the seam allowance going towards the placket

piece or away from the garment. Now fold the placket piece back towards the

garment flattening out that seam so that you can't see any of the wrong side of

the fabric on the front and press again really well

Now flip that other side of the bodice down a little ways of it's out of your

way and working with this large placket piece we're going to fold the long raw edge

over about a quarter inch and press it now this is the only slightly tricky

part so watch carefully. See that center fold we created and the seam that we

just sewed? Take the center fold and match it up with the wrong side of that

seam then flip that little fold of fabric you just created

underneath the garment so that the only thing you have under that seam is

the single layer placket piece. Now fold over that long edge of the

placket that you just pressed down so that it covers the seam that you just

sewed. Now we're going to pin this placket in place. I like to pin on the right side

of the fabric because this is where we'll be doing our top stitching.

Go ahead and sew close to that folded edge through the placket piece and you'll be

stitching along that center fold on the back. Once that's done go ahead and press

that fold really well as well as the fold underneath. Now you have the top

portion of the placket which hides the buttons and the bottom portion where

you'll be sewing your buttonholes. See how pretty that looks on the inside?

Now flip the other side of the bodice back up where it belongs and take the smaller

placket piece for this side; lay the placket and bodice right sides

together, raw edges even, and sew along that raw edge using a quarter inch seam

allowance. Fold the placket away from the bodice and press well

Then press the raw edge down of this placket piece as well just like you did the first piece.

Flip your bodice piece over and fold that placket around the seam allowance;

pin again and then stitch along that folded edge and press well

If you want to make this step easier on yourself, go ahead and pin

from the front of the bodice and placket and stitch from that side as well

Now take the larger placket piece and flip it to the outside of the bodice and flip

the smaller placket out of the way until that little triangle flap of fabric is exposed

now you're going to match up the wrong

side of that flap of fabric with the wrong side of the small placket

we're going to stitch through the small placket and that triangle flap of fabric

from the inside you won't be able to see any raw edges.

See how nice that looks from the inside now?

Now we just have to take care of the raw ends of the larger placket

go ahead and fold those raw ends of the larger placket under; tucking in

any corners or raw edges and stitch it down through all thicknesses with a big

square and an X going through the center, just like that. Press it well and voila

you're ready to go. I hope you loved this tutorial! please like this video and

Top 5 Pets You Won't Believe Exist - Duration: 3:51.

Hey youtube im court mcginley and welcome back to the most amazing top 5.

Before we get started I want to know- if you could have any pet in the world what would

it be and why?

Personally my favorite animal is a fox or an elephant.

So it would be pretty cool to have one of those animals as a pet.

Let me know your answers down in the comments.

Also don't forget to subscribe to our channel if you havnt already and make sure you like

this video so I can keep bringing you more top 5 lists.

Alright without further adue lets get started on our list of the top 5 pets you wont believe

exist.

Coming in at our number 5 spot--Racoon- this is bandit and he is a 75 pound racoon…and

yes he is someones pet.

Or I should say was because sadly he passed away in 2004 at the age of 9.

Hes even in the Guinness world record book for being the worlds fattest raccoon.

The reason hes so large is because he was born with a thyroid problem which led to his

massive weight gain.

He was abandoned as a baby and then was actually adopted by a dog and raised as if he was one

of her puppies.

Ok that's pretty adorable.

Imagine you just see a dog walking down the street followed by her puppies and one little

raccoon.

He was then later taken in by a woman in Pennsylvania where he happily lived out the remainder of

his live.

In at number 4--2 headed snake- whats better then a snake with one head?

A snake with 2 heads of course.

Back in 2016 this 2 headed snake came into our world.

An Australian reptile breeder was shocked when one of h8is eggs hatched this 2 headed

python.

The snake was nicknamed The twin Destroyer by the reptile breeders daughter.

This python is like any other snake until the body splits at the neck.

The reason this snake has 2 heads is due to a complication when the yolks failed to split

correctly in the egg.

Since a 2 headed snake is super rare to come by they can be sold for up to 50 thousand

dollars.

But the breeder insists he will not be selling the snake as he and his family have grown

attached to it and will be keeping it as a pet.

At number 3--Worlds largest dog- So this is Zeus and hes basically the size of a small

horse.

But as it turns out hes not a horse at all just the worlds tallest dog.

This huge great dane was Kevin and Denises pet dog.

And I saw was because sadly he passed away in 2014- which was just before his 5th birthday.

But he had a good life- he was extremely friendly and made many human friends through his work

as a therapy dog.

When Zeus stood up on his hind legs he was almost 5 and a half feet tall.

And a fun fact – as you may have concluded a dog this large and in charge would need

a lot of food to fuel his body.

He would actually eat 30 pounds of dog food everyday.

Coming in at our number 2 spot--Python- Yourin Sandat is 7 years old and he lives ion Cambodia.

His best friend slash pet just so happens to be a python named Chamron which translates

to Lucky.

This animal is 16 feet long and weighs over 220 pounds.

So your probably thinking to yourself what kind of parents would allow there child to

a huge python for a pet?

Wouldn't they be worried that's dangerous?

Well it turns out Yourins parents are all about it.

They allow this snake to slither around their entire house- and treat it as though its another

family member.

Turns out before this little boy was born his mother had a dream that a snake would

come to protect the family.

And so far this snake seems to be doing so.

But let me tell you taking care of a snake is not easy.

When it comes to food this python consumes 22 pounds of chicken per week…yeah that

definitely adds up.

And at number 1--Alien cat- This is Matilda aka the alien cat.

Now while some people might be freaked out by her I think shes freaking adorable.

As you can see Matilda has one feature that makes her stand out from all the other cats

and that's her set of huge glassy eyes.

When she was first brought into a vets office they thought she may have had feline leukaemia-

but after some tests were run it was discovered that she actually had a mysterious eye condition.

Sadly because of this condition her lenses have detached and she is completely blind.

Her owners looked into a possible surgery to correct this but its high risk and theres

no guaranteed success.

Luckily though Matilda isn't in pain.

Matilda even has an Instagram with 1 thousand 252 followers.

So yeah shes doing pretty well for herself.

And there you have it that's our list of the top 5 pets you wont believe exist.

Thanks so much for watching and ill catch you in the next one.
