Waching daily Nov 3 2017

Do stand in line.

Yes stand in line.

Yeah don't smoke on the streets.

They will tell you.

I have already been going.

I have been twice there already.

Whaaaaaaaa?

There are quite a lot of things that you should not do in Japan.

So this time we went out on the streets of Tokyo to ask foreigners what rules they have

in their mind of things that you should never do in Japan.

Let's go and ask foreigners in Japan.

Here in Japan rules wise there seem to be rules that are maybe different than back home.

So what things should you not do in Japan?

As advice for people who come.

Don't do this in Japan.

Bring your own soap and shampoo to the hot springs.

Really?

When you go to the sento.

You mean you're not allowed to bring that?

You have to bring your own.

You have to?

Yes you have to.

Shower and then go into the...

Sometimes they have some shampoo popped up but its not good for your skin so it's a good

idea to bring your own.

Yes.

I actually like how the trains are compared to New York.

Just waiting to the side, New Yorkers don't do that at all.

There is no standard.

People will push you in New York.

We will stand in front of the door, we won't let people pass.

I think that's something New York should adopt.

Definitely.

Do stand in line!

We were standing in line for the train which works a lot faster because people were in

and out quickly and the train is just off.

But in New York you have to wait ten minutes and sometimes the doors have to re-open because

things are not like moving properly.

It takes time.

But over here everything is really quick.

I love it.

We got here so early and we were wondering what we were gonna do.

Mostly the way we are dressed.

I feel like people here dress a lot more formally.

Yesterday we couldnt find seating in the station so we sat down on the ground outside.

And I think they don't really like that.

People looked at you in a weird way?

They didn't like that at all.

Talking loudly on the train.

Nobody talks on the train. It's only us.

I also feel like everyone knows where we are going at the train station, and has a purpose

except us.

We look lost.

We look very lost.

People bump into you and stuff?

No one bumps into anyone here that's what blows my mind.

Like, you can walk with all these people but no ones running into each other.

Have you had a moment when you were like, oh you probably shouldn't that in Japan.

Do you know any rules you are not allowed to do?

Smoking... there are smoking areas where you can smoke, and I smoke.

But I think it's good.

And I smoke a lot less.

Smoking ares, what do you mean?

What's that.

There is only some places you can smoke.

Not everywhere.

And I think that's great.

Even as a smoker?

Yeah.

Right thumbs up.

Yeah don't smoke on the streets.

They will tell you.

I guess don't be too loud on the subway.

Don' be too obnoxious.

You stand out a lot just by talking in the train, right?

Ah, what not to do?

Don't just like wing it.

We sort of winged it on the first day and I think we sort of made a mistake there.

Try and be a bit more prepared.

Do some research.

Understand the costumes and traditions.

It's so foreign to us. It's a huge culture difference.

You might come across as rude when you are not trying to be.

So yeah do some research.

Try and learn some common phrases.

I feel like it's nice to at least try to talk in Japanese sometimes, yeah.

I think that's a good one.

You should look for little signs of taking your shoes off.

It's hard to forget.

I remember my first time.

I definitely got caught a few times.

Always look for the shoes thing.

It's so funny because back home I always have everyone take off their shoes before they

enter my house but I am not used to taking off your shoes before you go into a changing

room or whatnot.

So now when I go to any place I just say, do I need to take my shoes before we go in

there? That's what I do.

Good idea, on the save side.

Exactly.

You don't wanna be that dick american.

Do you know, if you have been here a couple of times, do you know the word Gaijin smash?

Yes!

Great.

Have you been guilty of gaijin smash, what have you done?

Tell us a couple of things.

We gaijin, we do it on the trains mostly.

A friend was dropping a full beer on the train.

Oh dear.

But it wasn't in a can either.

It was in a cup.

That was probably the worst one.

Oh dear, how did that happen?

We were coming back from a Seibu Lions game, at Seibu dome.

And then someone dropped a full beer on the train and then the train car just cleared

out.

We also cleared out too.

We had to.

But yeah that was probably the worst one.

And also... driving on the wrong side of the road.

Because we drive on the other side of the road.

That's happened before.

That's the biggest Gaijin Smash.

Oh my gosh you are still alive though.

Yes.

I would say mostly on the trains.

When you wanna get the first seat.

You want that seat.

You know you're tired of being in the city you wanna rest.

And you just,... don't care about the people lined up.

You just go.

Yeah...

I am guilty of it.

I am a Gaijin smasher.

Try all the food, it's so good.

Everything is delicious.

It's my first time but I would say... when you go anywhere that's new, the best

way is just to get lost.

Honestly.

Walk around, Just get lost.

Find out what people do, and just do what people do.

Try to stay away from the super touristy areas.

I know this might be considered one but I don't care because I wanted some cute outfits

like this.

It would cost so much money getting it in the states.

But like just do what people do.

I found I teach fitness.

So I found a really cool fitness spot and I go there.

Just be chill just be open.

You already found a fitness spot in Tokyo and you have been here for how long?

How long have we... yeah three days.

You already have your own fitness spot?

Yeah I have already been going.

I have already been going there twice already.

Whaaaaa?

Yeah you just gotta do it.

Just be cool just have fun, talk to people.

Even if you don't speak the same language, there is so much universally that people can

do.

When we went to the bar he didn't speak much English so spoke through music and dance just

getting the groove on.

Getting drunk, having fun.

Everyone does that everywhere.

Just have fun.

I make the same rule.

You can't make plans too far ahead because you are always wanting to do the change the

next day and go back to some place but ideally go try some new alley you haven't walked down

or...

I don't know.

Say always say yes to things.

Really?

Always say yes.

A lot of people are gonna ask you, you wanna do this or that.

Just say yes.

Right.

And then you are always gonna have a good time.

That's what I would say.

Yeah, I one hundred percent agree.

Say yes to everything.

Unless it's a dodgy person who wants to get you into a host club I guess.

Say yes.

Just kidding.

Say no.

Be polite, don't speak loud.

It's so quiet here, it's nice.

Be polite.

Any onsen advice or any advice you can give?

Definitely try the onsen.

I know a lot of people are a little bit nervous about it.

But I think the most... the one thing I would truly miss is the Onsen experience.

Yeah it's amazing.

Fantastic those were all the questions.

Thank you so much.

Thanks for having us.

So, some of the foreigners shared some do's and don'ts with us.

I can heavily, heavily, heavily recommend you read up some general Japanese manners

and rules before you come to Japan.

It will just make your life so much easier.

And it will also make the image of other Foreigners in Japan so much easier.

There's been a couple of times when I saw foreigners doing a couple of things when I

was like "Gosh you are making everyone look bad now."

Please don't do this.

It's just little things that you can be aware of.

For example I can tell you lots about rules on Japanese trains.

Cause I used to commute an hour and a half to my workplace and lots of things were happening.

Definitely, definitely never cut in line.

People will line up before they go into the train.

Do not cut in line.

It will look so bad.

People will hate you.

They won't say anything, but it's a very bad idea.

Just don't.

If you go into the train you generally not supposed to eat foods that smell very strong.

Because it's a very cramped space many people in there, it will make people unhappy or make

them feel uncomfortable.

Or maybe even sick.

If they are not with train travels.

Maybe don't eat on the train or if you eat on the train, just eat something small that

doesn't smell too strong.

Also on the train, don't talk on your phone, that's a big one.

There are always signs that say don't talk on the phone.

And then there are priority seats usually at the front of back of each cartridge...

cartridge?

Well cart.

There definitely make sure you stand up and let someone sit down if they look like they

need the seat.

I know, there are many Japanese business men who do not need the seat and they sit in the

seat anyways and they don't get up for older people when they come in.

I have seen that a couple of times which is a shame.

But but but please don't be the foreigner who does the same.

So if you have a seat, please stand up and help someone else out that might need the

seat more than you do.

And there are many other rules that you can do.

These ones are just general things that you have to be careful of in the trains in Japan.

Also don't talk too loud.

See you don't realize that if you come from a country where it's totally fine to talk

on the train, but there will be moments when you are chatting.

And then you go quiet and you realize that the whole train is dead silent.

Especially when it's rush hour.

When people are squished and squished against each other.

There is a lot of stress on the people and they might already have their own stress from

work and the stress from their families.

So they are already standing in that train, being squished against each other, and they

are heavily stressed so they are just trying to escape that, maybe looking at their phone

and just go "okay three stops I can do this."

And then having someone being really loud and obnoxious...

It's not a good idea guys.

So just try to avoid that.

They are just a couple of little things.

And it doesn't really cut much out of your life if you just ... are a little bit more

careful about the rules that have been here.

I hope you learned something.

Let us know if there are any rules you would like other people to know, to be careful about

when people come to your country, or when they go to Japan.

I am sure other people would appreciate that, so looking forward to reading your comments.

Thank you for watching.

And I catch you soon on Ask Japanese.

benefits of bitter melon | How to Eat Bitter Melon - Duration: 4:41.

How to Eat Bitter Melon ! Bitter melon is a unique vegetable that grows

best in tropical regions and is healthy to eat.

Consuming this veggie may strengthen your immune system, detoxify your liver, improve

your eyesight, and even kill cancer cells.

Look for a long, green warty fruit at the summer farmer's market.

Despite its name, bitter melon doesn't look like typical melon.

Head to the farmer's market in July and August and keep an eye out for a vegetable

that resembles a cucumber, but with much bumpier skin.

Choose small, firm melon.

When choosing from a group of bitter melon, it's best to go for the smaller, harder

ones that are light green, as these won't be quite as bitter.

As bitter melon age and grow, they become more bitter.

If you see any bitter melon with a touch of orange or yellow, get them.

These tend to be milder in flavor.

Store bitter melon in your refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Once you've acquired some bitter melon and have brought them home, put them in an airtight

container.

Keep them stored in the vegetable drawer in your refrigerator until you're ready to

prepare, cook, and eat them.

Don't wait longer than 5 days or so, or else the bitter melon may start to spoil.

Slice the melon in half lengthwise and scoop out the core.

Put the bitter melon on a cutting board and carefully slice it in half down the middle.

Then take a spoon and scoop out the pith and seeds.

Finally, slice the melon into thin half-moon-shaped pieces.

Sprinkle salt onto the melon.

Lightly and uniformly sprinkle salt all over the bitter melon pieces and let the salt sit

on them for about 10 minutes.

This will minimize the bitter taste of the melon, making it more palatable.

Heat some oil in a wok on the stove.

Get a wok or large, deep saucepan and pour in 1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) of vegetable or

olive oil.

Place the wok on a burner and turn the burner on medium-high heat.

Add chopped garlic and onion to the wok.

Use a knife to finely chop one small onion and 3-4 cloves of garlic on a cutting board.

Put the chopped garlic and onion into the wok and stir it with a large wooden spoon

until it's cooked and appears brown.

For more flavor, chop and stir in tomatoes once the garlic and onion have browned.

Add the sliced melon and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.

Put 2 sliced melons into the wok and continuously stir it while it cooks.

After about 2 or 3 minutes, you should notice that the melon is beginning to turn slightly

translucent, which means it's almost cooked.

Beat and pour 2 eggs into the wok.

After the melon has been cooking for 2-3 minutes, whisk 2 eggs and slowly pour them into the

wok and over the melon pieces.

Continue to stir fry until the eggs are cooked and dry.

Remove the wok from heat, and season with salt.

Move the wok to a cold burner and turn off the warm burner.

Use your wooden spoon to scrape the food out of the wok and into a bowl.

Sprinkle in some salt to taste, and serve with rice or noodles.

Make a bitter melon smoothie.

Use a knife to chop the bitter melon as finely as possible on a cutting board and put it

into a blender or food processor.

Add in some pomegranate seeds and/or chopped mango to create a nice flavor.

Either blend the chopped melon and fruit into a thin liquid and drink it as a juice, or

add in some yogurt to make a smoothie.

Drink bitter melon tea.

Oftentimes, Asian markets carry bitter melon tea in the form of tea bags.

The taste is similar to green tea.

Drink a cup in the morning and cup at night to get a healthy daily dose.

Skin Cancer: After the Removal - Duration: 9:16.

Hey guys

It's Bonnie from BonnieandBlithe.com here and today is my second segment in my skin cancer video talking all about the procedure

Post-op, pain, etc what went on

So stay tuned!

So in video 1 I talked a lot about my feelings before the procedure what I was going through

The thought that maybe I'd be scarred for life a lot of emotion and

since then things have gotten a lot better in that department

That's for sure

So first of all the procedure: so mine was a little bit different than some people's because I ended up going to a plastic surgeon

After the initial doctor appointment where they removed the cancer. so I showed up really early in the morning

I brought Luke with me because I was super freaked out and I wanted somebody to hold my hand he laid me back in

the chair and started giving me shots in my nose, so

Honest-to-goodness the absolute worst part of the whole thing was just shots in the face, and the nose especially it's super sensitive it hurt

I'm not gonna lie it sucked. Made me want to cry; for the procedure itself I got maybe

Five shots, maybe six. The shot itself hurt

But it was when they started pushing the lidocaine into my nose that it really hurt started making my nose

Feel really swollen and puffy and heavy so that was a really weird sensation

But once that was over not as big a deal as I thought it was gonna be. So after that they did some scraping

I just kept my eyes closed, tried not to listen, Luke said he didn't want to watch either

So he didn't watch at the very end they did some cauterizing

So I smelled burning flesh that was kind of gross, but it was really quick

like ten minutes or less

They scraped it off went out to analyze it

so I'm sitting there just watching the news with Luke for a few minutes the doctor came back in he didn't even give me a

Second to think about it. He just blurted out we got it all, one cut, we're done.

Yay! I was so happy, so I'm thinking one cut great

There's not gonna be any scar they hardly took anything, awesome. So soon as the doctor leaves

I tell Luke, alright take a picture for me. I'll document it. I'll know what it looks like before they even close it up

I'm thinking not a big deal, right

Yeah, guys don't look at it. Okay. If you get this done

Do not look until this closed up because it was so gnarly I'm gonna show you a picture so if you're the queasy type

Just skip on forward if you don't like this so there you go

That's the before they sewed me up; after the procedure before they closed it all up - pretty grody

kind of just looks like they took like a

Melon baller to my nose; so anyway after I saw that and freaked myself out a little bit

We took off we left from the dermatologist's office and drove to the plastic surgeon's office

This was a whole different deal so dermatologists: I sat in a regular doctor's office

They did a little scraping whatever sent me at the door the plastic surgeon's surgery center was literally surgery

It was not like a regularr doctor's office- it's like I went into the pre-op section

And then they take you into an actual surgery room like a like an OR except

There's just a chair instead of a bed. So I asked the doctor a couple questions

She cleared up some misconceptions and kind of put to rest some of my fears

And then she told me exactly what they were gonna do: When he cut it out

It was like this circle right here, right?

and then she said they couldn't just cinch up that skin to close it up because it would look weird so instead she drew a

Triangle with a marker above the circle, so it kind of looked like an upside-down ice cream cone

And then she said they were gonna cut along that triangle and pull that skin down over the hole

And then just cinch up the top part where there was no more skin

And then stitch it all the way around which I thought was a pretty ingenious way of doing it

I mean clearly she's the professional. SO that's what she did. Again more shots,

Maybe eight or nine and by the last two or three shots

There was so much lidocaine to my nose that it was like running down the back of my throat and numbing my throat

So again worst part so once that was done. She got to work and honestly it was really pretty pleasant

She was a very nice doctor we chit-chatted it up. She told me about her kids

I told her about my kids

So she did the cutting

The pulling and I really did not feel hardly anything, a little bit of pressure that was it and then I could see her out

Of the corner of my eye doing the stitching at the end, and then we were done

It was like a 10 or 15 minute procedure really quick and dirty and and that was it

The most discomfort at that point like I said was just that my nose felt swollen and really heavy

It was almost like somebody put a weight on my face

So she bandaged me up with a humungous bandage, and sent me on my way

So that was procedure as far as the recovery went

that day, I kind of had a mild headache all day and like I said a really big weight on my face and then just a

Lot of numbness and that's about it

They did give me I believe a couple of extra strength tylenol while I was there

And then I grabbed tylenol ibuprofen on the way home because I was really nervous that when that wore off it would hurt

Because I'll be honest when I did the biopsy that was actually quite painful once the numbing started wearing off

But the procedure was not anywhere near as painful once the numbing wore off so I did take those Tylenol

I went home took another ibuprofen and Tylenol that night and by the next morning

I needed nothing there was like no pain at all definitely soreness; at one point my baby

Whacked me in the face, and I was like Oooh that hurt so bad, but if nobody touched it

it was really fine, so I got the procedure done August 29, basically exactly a month to the day today's September 29th and

It feels and looks great right now

I'm going to show you a couple of

after pictures for that first week or so because I took a lot of them so when I left the procedure they

Put some steri tape across my procedure site

and then just said

Leave the big bandage on for a day and then after that go ahead and wash your face like normal

Just leave the tape on for a week at least until the first post-op appointment unless it falls off

So a mine actually did stay on the entire week, and I couldn't tell what was going on under there

It started lifting a little bit

I could tell there was some scabbing going on but because I was washing my face twice a day, and she told me to put

Lots of Vaseline on top of the tape it stayed really moist under there

And so it was never like a hard crusty scab so then when I went in for the post-op

we took the tape off and wiped that stuff away and

Maybe this is TMI, but it smelled so gross

Anyway, glad I didn't have to do that part and when she wiped it away she showed me in the mirror

And I was blown away. It looked really really really good. There were a couple little spots around the incision

Area that had not fully healed like you could still tell it was an open sore so she told me to keep it bandaged until

That was completely healed which I did, but honestly after one week

I was so amazed at how well it looked so you can see today

I am wearing makeup obviously, but I'm not wearing any on the scar, so hopefully you can see what that looks like today

It's still very red

How it looks now has not really changed much since about 10 days after once it healed over completely

It looked just like this only it was just a little bit redder, so what now? obviously it's healing well

I went to one other post-op appointment where the nurse just told me that she liked the looks of it

I don't need to keep it bandaged anymore now

my job is just to make sure that I

Do what it takes to minimize the scarring so there are a couple of things that she suggested

Number 1: I'm suppose to massage the scar

There is a little bit of lumps and bumps underneath it up here at the top where they stitched the skin together

Really tight and down here below and in order for it to look as smooth as possible I'm supposed to massage it really vigorously which kind of hurts

But that's not a huge deal the other thing is to use a couple of scar minimizing

treatments. I researched a ton on Amazon and read other bloggers'

Experiences and what they used and I ended up choosing this Bio Oil this was the top-rated scar

Minimizing treatment on Amazon it was super cheap to maybe ten or twelve bucks, and it's just a oil pretty natural

You're supposed to rub it into the scar morning and night, and I've read some amazing testimonials about how this stuff minimizes scars

So the other thing is Mederma a couple of people I know recommended this good reviews on Amazon. We'll try that out, too

That was fairly cheap the other recommendation I got was to use silicone strips or

Liquid that you can paint on so silicone is supposed to be really good for scars

I didn't end up buying any; thought I'd use what I had first and the other thing

She said is to make sure I always have sunscreen on it obviously. Sunscreen is really good at

Minimizing the damage done by the sun to scars as well. A good friend of mine sent me this it's called

Elta MD skincare UV physical broad-spectrum SPF 41. 41?

I don't know why not 40, but whatever

I've really like using this it's slightly tinted

So I put it on before anything else and it's kind of like a good base for my makeup and doesn't have like a white

Pasty look. Active ingredients are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide which really important for sunscreen because that's the physical barrier. So anyway

I really like this one. I'll put links to all these products in the description

So check them out do some research yourself if you're going through the same thing. I'm really happy with how everything turned out

I'm excited for the future

I'm not really self-conscious about it at all which I'm so grateful for, I know it could've been a lot worse. If a skin cancer

Removal is something that you have on your horizon, don't despair, don't freak out. It's gonna be fine

It's a lot scarier at the outset, then once you've gone through it and even if you end up with a scar

Let it be a chance for education anytime somebody asks you about it, you can say it was skin cancer

We gotta take care of ourselves. This is what I do now

Hopefully more people don't have to suffer with skin cancer whether non-lethal kind like my basal cell carcinoma or a really scary melanoma

Let's educate each other and take care of each other if this video helped you at all, please like it

I'd loved if you subscribed. I'll have more videos about this in the future

I want to make sure everybody stays informed and safe. I love you guys so much. Thanks so much for watching

Are You Providing an Amazing Online Experience? - Duration: 1:38.

- So what's the right layout for you?

How do you create massive authority, and how do you

get right into flow?

How do you take your prospect from a cold conversation,

or not even knowing you, through to purchasing your product?

Well, really it's about giving them a simple path.

You know much like riding a bike on a bike path,

you know just having the, the concrete laid

out in front of you.

No bumps, no obstacles to deal with.

That's the same thing in the online world.

You want to be able to give your client a smooth,

and really an enjoyable experience.

You know you have to show them that you have

the authority to deliver.

You have to show them that you have proven products.

You have to show them that you have case studies,

and proven results.

And really, for you to be able to give someone

a clear, smooth experience online, it's really about

making that effortless for them.

You know, making it easy for them to purchase.

Making it easy for them to build trust with you.

For them to, you know just understand who you are,

and how you operate.

You know if you're looking to give someone

a beautiful experience online, make it as easy

as possible, but remember, you have to create credibility.

You have to show trust, and you have to deliver

an amazing experience.
