Welcome this is Pastor Scott
I'm glad you're listening to this video. I want to ask you a question.
Would you like to
accept Jesus Christ into your life?
I realize that's a very big question
I don't know of a question more important to say "yes" to. I do not believe in
manipulation or ramping up emotional pressure or tricking people.
In the course of this video
I want to be straightforward with you, let you know what you can expect, what would be required, how you
receive Jesus, and then at the end,
I plan to lead you in a prayer to accept Jesus Christ into your life if that's what you would like.
Now, I do not have the time in this video to go through a more full Gospel explanation.
There is a video on my Facebook page titled the Gospel in 12 minutes, and you may want to look at that.
But I am assuming that at this point in time
you know enough about Jesus that you are ready to receive him into your life.
I mean the truth is over the years I have asked this question of total strangers,
having been led of the Holy Spirit to do so and sure enough, their answer was "yes." God had already prepared them ahead of time.
Now what can you expect when you receive Jesus into your life? Well, you're going get a whole new life
You're not going to get an improved life. You're going to get a new life. New tastes, new preferences,
new desires. I mean you may be thinking to yourself
"Well, my life is a mess right now and surely I need to straighten things out first before I accept Jesus." No, you don't
What you want to do is you want to put your trust in Jesus and ask him to come into your life and straighten your
life out for you. Let him be in charge. Let him do the inner changing and the outward changing.
Now I will tell you that there are friends that you have right now that are not going to like the
changes that are going to happen within you and
you need to be prepared for that. Not everybody is going to be pleased and you may receive some amount of
rudeness or shunning from people that normally you've been close with.
But that's that's part of the game and Jesus said to us that that's
one of the things that will happen.
But it doesn't even compare to having the life of God.
You will receive the forgiveness of your sins,
you will have peace of mind again, you'll have a clean conscience,
and when you when you sin, as we all do at times, there's no getting around that,
you'll find that you have
instant fresh
beginnings with Jesus. You ask him to forgive you and then you THANK him that he does forgive you, because of what he did on
the cross, of paying the penalty for your sins and mine.
You will have the confidence that as you trust Jesus and follow him, your life is going to end up well and
that when you die, you're going to be in heaven forever with Jesus. And
that surely is worth any hardship that this life might bring your way.
Now what is required to receive Jesus Christ?
What is required is that you put your FAITH in him that you put your TRUST in him?
Now, what does that look like? Well, it looks like allowing him to take charge.
It looks like
giving up on the life that you've manufactured and inviting him to do with you whatever he might please.
It means that his Holy Spirit is going to come and live within you.
Again, your job is not to straighten yourself out first - your job is to put your trust in Jesus and then
begin to learn from him how to follow him. I mean my favorite verse in the Bible is Matthew
11:28 - 30 and Jesus said in that verse
"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I'll give you rest. Take
my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
So are you ready to receive Jesus right now?
Well, if so, I'm going to lead you in a prayer to invite Jesus Christ into your life.
Now I want you to know
you're not saved by some magic prayer. This prayer I'm going to lead you in is simply a way for you to express
your putting your faith and trust
in Jesus.
So
If you're if you're clear on that and you're willing, let us pray.
"Lord Jesus Christ, (and please repeat it after me out loud) Lord,Jesus Christ, I need you.
Please come into my life.
Please forgive me all my sins.
Please fill me with your Holy Spirit.
Please take charge of my life.
Please teach me how to live this life. I'm willing for you to do with my life
whatever you may want to do.
I know I need you to clean me up.
I know I need you to change things in my life
and at this point Lord Jesus,
I know I can't do it on my own.
So come into my life, Lord Jesus.
I trust you.
I trust that you are God in the flesh.
I trust that when you died on the cross you forgave my sins.
I trust that you will lead me through this life. And I trust that you'll bring me to heaven when I die.
And I trust that you will help me love you.
And I trust that you will help me follow you.
And I trust that you will never leave me and you will never forsake me.
Thank you, Jesus.
Amen!
Well, I'm so happy for you if you prayed that prayer and and in the course of that prayer put your your faith in Jesus.
Now I want to finish up with some things that you really want to attend to.
In each day, you want to find time and ways for you to draw close to Jesus and to enjoy his presence.
Reading the Bible every day is SO important.
If you're not quite sure how to read in the Bible, again on my Facebook page, there's another video
titled, "Learning How to Read the Bible."
You want to learn how to pray.
You want to tell people what you've done -- that you've given your life to Jesus.
And above all, you want to find a church that God leads you to be a part of. Find a good church, a church that loves
Jesus, that loves one another, that believes the Bible.
So again,
thank you for listening.
Congratulations, I'm so happy for you.
On my Facebook page, there's a blue message button. If you want to send me a message and ask me some questions
I'll be glad to try to answer.
Thanks for listening. Bye-bye.
