This Technology Is Life Changing – Nucleus 7 Cochlear Implant Sound Processor - Duration: 11:56.

when you have something it's possible to take you for granted

for those who don't they feel like something is missing it limits you and

set you back in life so let's talk about hearing loss in the UK alone it's

estimated 750,000 people are living with severe to profound hearing loss

according to the World Health Organization there were approximately 72

million people around the world who could potentially benefit from the EU's

offer here in device such as cochlear implant or hearing aid so when I was

invited about cochlear to see what they're doing to help and change the

lives of those living with hearing loss I jumped at the

opportunity to speak to

various people in order to understand more and help spread the word

we know worldwide there's four hundred sixty six million people living with the disabling

hearing loss which is a phenomenal number when you think about it so in the

UK we know that there's at least 750,000 people living with disabling hearing

loss and people are willing to move forward with technology to improve their

improve the intervention hearing and basically the connectivity with life and

that's exactly what a lot of these recipients want to do they want to

re-engage with life and it's so important because the number of patients

I've met in the past - who've as the hearing loss has declined over

the years they they move into moving away from difficult situations and

family environments and and it's very important sort of implantable hearing

solutions that we can give them that connectivity back into engaging because

living with disabling hearing loss can lead to social isolation early onset

dementia and as well as well-documented and I think actually we've got a an

educational piece to do with audiologists around the world to make

sure that these patients aren't sitting with hearing aids and a lot of these

patient's hearing aids aren't suitable and they need to move into the

implantable hearing solution space as well as making sure that the public are

aware of that the technology that is available to them beyond hearing aids

at this year's CI2018 conference in Antwerp Belgium I got to check out the nuclear 7

sound processor the world's smallest and lightest behind-the-ear cochlear implant

sound processor it's also a pioneer as it's the first and only made for iPhone

sound processor meaning cochlear works with Apple to have it baked into iOS when

you download a nuclear smart app before I go further I spoke to Keith about what

the device actually is

the cochlear implant system is made up of two basic parts, firstly we have the implant and then we have the sound processor which

is worn outside of the body the sound processors role is to provide power and

more importantly sound from the external environment to the implant the sound

processor is made up of three basic parts we have the sound processor itself

which picks up sound via dual microphone technology and compresses the sound and

using DSP it sends it via coil to the implant we also have a battery lithium

ion battery and also zinc air battery which powers the sound processor we

nuclear seven we are very excited to deliver also a USB charger to make

charging of the lithium ion battery much more convenient for our recipients USB

charges available in two different types forcely a white charger which allows a

recipient to charge two batteries simultaneously and also a single USB

charger the nuclear small app allows the user to be in control of their sound

processor in fact it gives people with hearing loss more control over the

hearing than someone with regular hearing

it comes with some amazing yet simple to use features called hearing tracker

find my processor and the ability to switch off background sound or hear from

the next room Adam from cochlear showed mini app which allows the user to stream

from various audio sources straight to the sound processor whether they use an

iPhone or an Android device the n7 is the first made for iPhone cochlear

implant which is a huge deal because there have been hearing aids that have

done that but never been a cochlear implant that's done that and so our

sound processor can stream directly from audio that is playing on your phone that

can stream directly to your sound processor so what we have here is the

smart app for the N 7 and we've got it running on both iOS and Android and so

the the new announcement today is that we are on Android so what the app

does is it replaces the need to have this the physical remote control that we

used to have which is like the size of a iPod Nano kind of thing that you'd have

to carry around with you and make all your adjustments now that we've got your

Bluetooth Low Energy on the sound processor we can talk directly to the

phone and you can come in and do all your simple changes like you can come in

and see the volume level that you're at you can make adjustments to the volume

you can change your audio sources so we have for instance a TV streamer and a

mini mic which are little accessories that we sell say to plug it into a TV

and then you get your sound stream directly from the TV to your sound

processor so you can come into the app in the app does your remote control for

all of that kind of stuff that you want to do at the top right we show you your

your processor status so your battery and your processor status you can tap

that and you come and see the status screen where we give you at a glance all

the information that you're interested in so your battery level the health of

the sound processor whether or not you know the coil is off or whether you need

to you know replace a particular anything like that and we also give you

a sound level meter so that you can see what the mics are actually picking up

around you other cool stuff that we have we have a find my sound processor feature

which is effectively like Find My iPhone but for your sound processor we can come

in and we can see on a map where your sound processor is and where was the

last seen for instance it was disconnected so you can go and find it

you know what's at school or it's at home or something like that we also

support a nearby mode which is where we're using the Bluetooth signal

strength to work out how far away the sound processor is sort of you're in the

room but you know it's behind the couch or you're not really sure where it is

you can walk around the room using this level that goes up and down and use that

to help try to find where your sound processor is also we have this

functionality called hearing tracker which is really cool it's kind of like

Fitbit but for your hearing so with with the CI it tracks how long you're in

a speech environment and what we do is the the app grabs that data from the

sound processor and could show for instance yesterday

you're in a speech environment for two hours and your clinician might say look

you need to set three hours as your minimum target every day and the app

gives you nice graphs historical data so you can come in and see how you're

tracking against your goals that your clinician has given you this year

cochlear also announced an exciting new feature that would give nuclear 7 users

superhuman like abilities the forward focus feature allows the user to change

focus to the sound in front of them imagine having a meeting or having

dinner with friends and family and you can focus the two built-in microphones

to focus on the person speaking to you and block out the background noise or

sound coming from behind you if he's too distracting or making it difficult I

have a client who is a psychologist and she sees clients on a

regular basis and the clients bring their children into the office and

when they do that the children are playing and playing with blocks and

talking and for my client to then focus on her session with her client she just

turns on forward focus and it literally blocks out

so it's important for the recipients to with themselves in the right to the

scenario where they've got their backs to the noise and it really cancels out

everything like that we have so many of our recipients who said to us I can't go

to the pub any more if I don't have my Ford Focus because it's just too noisy

if I can't enable forward focus while I'm you know having a good time and in a

social scenario with lots of the further understand how it's being

used I got an opportunity to speak with two people who wear a nuclear seven

sound processor Roger Smith cochlear's global product manager and Angela Irwin

our ability to create a processor that was made for iPhone was a huge advance

in technology but it was also a game-changer for our customers so we

have lots of customers who comment to us at hearing on the phone is very

challenging so we knew that making a processor made for iPhone is gonna

deliver on that challenge and Made For iPhone does two things for our customers

it means that they can stream audio directly from the phone to their

processor if you think about everything that people do with their phones these

days they're talking on the phone but also listening to music

watching videos using apps and games and all of that streams all of that uses

audio and in the past it was very hard for people with hearing loss be able to

access that tech access those features on their phone because it's hard to hear

on them on the speakerphone or headphones or earbuds are just not

practical so being able to stream sound directly from their phone to their

processor is a game changer and the quality of the sound is unparalleled

it's like the person's talking inside your head so our customers are saying to

us now how life-changing it is to be able to stream from

- their phone to their processor so they're able to take job interviews over the phone which they

were afraid to do in the past they're able to have conference calls with

colleagues in different countries where they it was hard to hear them with their

accents and now they can do that because they can stream that sound directly to

their processor hi I'm Angela I'm a nuclear cochlear implant recipient I'm

actually celebrating 21 years with my first cochlear implant this month and so

I wanted to show the original processor that I had which was this one it was

called a sprint body processor but you can see the size how big it is compared

to I now have the nucleus seven processors which are just so small it's

so light behind the ear but I used to have to have this clipped on and

run the cord up you know underneath your shirt and you would clip it to your

collar so not the point of saying I was you know in my early 20s when I was

first implanted so wasn't exactly exciting for a 20 year old to want to

wear this but I would have worn it every day for the rest of my life because of

the the hearing results that I got with the cochlear implant being able to use

the phone again being able to be in social situations again so it's just

incredible so now fast-forward 21 years on my mind

seventh upgrade with the nucleus seven which is just amazing I would have never

expected that when I was first implanted cochlear is just so dedicated to

improving hearing outcomes and the technology for recipients it's been really fun to have

this latest upgrade nucleus 7 and have it be compatible with my iPhone so I can

control both processors with my iPhone and enable forward focus which has just

been really incredible in noisy situations you know the technology was

already great in noisy situations but this is again another step up and

I think now as a deaf person I have the advantage in noisy environments over

the normal hearing people because the technology is just so amazing besides

the innovative forward focus feature Android and nucleus 24 implant series

compatibility I started thinking about the future and what's next for cochlear

speaking to various people and recipients as really open my eyes to the world of

hearing loss and cochlear dedication to innovate and change lives for the better

I can only imagine what's next such as the use of AI automatically switching on

and our forward focus or even real-time language translation if you want to find

out more check out the links in the description and Cochlear also on social

media if you have any questions thanks for watching make sure you hit that

How to make a custom handmade wardrobe//With Tips - Duration: 5:44.

so I want to make clothes that I love and therefore be able to wear

them on the regular

hey today I'd like to talk about making a custom handmade wardrobe for yourself

I find that i have so many clothes that I just hang around in the closet and

somehow I can't seem to find something to wear every morning. is a struggle and

I know you should plan before but I don't. so I want to make clothes

that I love and be able to wear them on the regular so in order

to make your own custom wardrobe I am not an expert. you're

supposed to look at your body type your style

who inspires you sewing patterns and all that stuff. so let me started on style

I will not lie to you I'm not sure what my style is. I gravitate toward certain styles

but at the end of the day I just like to be comfortable you know so i wear

a lot of sneakers and sports shoes. plaid shirts jeans like that's my style

most of the day most of the time so yes style is important to find so that you

base your clothes off of that and you'll be more inclined to wear those clothes

on a daily basis so let's go to our body type you need to know your body type so

that you make clothes that fit into that body type and clothes that fit you well

and flatter you sometimes we'll see someone wearing a really nice dress but

somehow the dogs are barking you'll find that something will be off. then someone

will wear something that's seemingly simple maybe even cliche

else is wearing as well wearing it as well but then they look

different with it cause they're dressed for their body type so it flatters them

despite it being common my body type so far as I know as far as I know for

now is a pear shape. I find my shoulders to

be a bit wide but I'm still a pear anyways because my hips

are wider okay that's exaggerated there's

also body types that take into account more than just your bust to hips ratio

it also takes into account your facial features. in regards to that I'm more of

a romantic type I'll link her video down in the description it's a very good

video. I highly suggest that you watch it if you

haven't already it's a really good one it's not the typical one

it encourages you to dress for your body type to flatter that. not try to look a

certain way am I making sense. the video in the description will talk more about

the body types. she's read the book now she is just telling us the mere mortals

so ya know your body type and dress for it find someone maybe I don't know you

want someone in the public eye who has your bodytype try and see what you can

take from them also colors take into account the colors you want your wardrobe

to emulate you want more of white or blue tones that's up to you what you

want. yeah I think I'll have a mixture

take into account as well the climate of the area you're living in. is it extremely hot

is it extremely cold within a little I live in Kenya so the weather is not as

extreme on either side it's actually pretty splitting good inspiration okay

this goes hand in hand finding someone who would inspires you it doesn't have

to be someone famous I personally find more inspiration in characters from

movies and shows more than in real life

come to patterns, I've never actually bought a commercial sewing pattern

online or wherever I've always just made my own patterns I didn't even know for a

long time that you could buy patterns. Someone has done all

this work for you although you're buying it but honestly buying it I feel like

it's cheaper than making. Making sometimes it takes so much time it

depends at your level of expertise I guess some people take less time than

others but here I actually don't mind making my own patterns I however enjoy

the process of sewing more than making patterns

so yeah that's it for now for this whole making your own wardrobe thing

I'll just I'll just mess up I'll just go blank. thank you so much watching

this video please subscribe if you haven't liked the video if you do and

I'll see you in the next video. bye.

How to influence and make people dependent on you(5 tips) - Law 11 - Duration: 5:50.

To maintain your independence you must always be needed and wanted. The more you are relied

on, the more freedom you have. Make people depend on you for their happiness and prosperity

and you have nothing to fear. Never teach them enough so that they can do without you.

Transgression Of The Law Sometime in the Middle Ages, a mercenary soldier

, whose name has not been recorded, saved the town of Siena from a foreign aggressor.

The city was extremely grateful for this act, however no amount of money or honor could

possibly compare in value to the preservation of a city's liberty. The people thought

of making him the lord, they said that wasn't enough to compensate him. they kept debating

and debating

At last, one of them stood before the assembly  exclaiming, "Let us kill him and then worship

him as our patron saint." And so they did.

interpretation

Many of the great mercenaries of Renaissance Italy suffered the same fate : They won battle

after battle for their employers only to find themselves banished, imprisoned, or executed.

The problem was  that there were so many other mercenaries as able and valiant as

they were. They were easily replaceable. Nothing was lost by killing them.

Now in most cases we're not going to get executed for not making others dependent on us. but

being easily replacable can have dire consequnses.

Necessity rules the world. if you create no need for yourself then you will be done away with at the first opportunity.

if on the other hand you understand the laws of power

and make others depend on you for their welfare

then you will survive

Louis XI had a deep love for astrology. He kept a court astrologer whom he admired,

until one day the man predicted that a lady of the court would die within eight days.

When the prophecy came true, Louis was terrified, thinking that either the man had murdered

the woman to prove his accuracy or that he was so versed in his science that his powers

threatened Louis himself. In either case he had to be killed.

One evening Louis summoned the astrologer to his room, high in the castle. Before the

man arrived, the king told his servants that when he gave the signal they were to pick

the astrologer up, carry him to the window, and hurl him to the ground, hundreds of feet

below. The astrologer soon arrived, but before giving the signal, Louis decided to ask him

one last question." "You claim to understand astrology and to

know the fate of others, so tell me what will your fate be and how long will you live."

"I shall die just three days before Your Majesty,"

the king's signal was never given.

The man's life was spared. Louis XI not only protected his astrologer for as long

as he was alive, he lavished him with gifts and had him tended by the finest court doctors.

The astrologer survived Louis by several years, disproving his power of prophecy but proving

his mastery of power. He did this by creating an undeniable air

of dependency through the use of fear.

5 Ways to Manipulate Power

1. Do seek out weak people in power

Bismarck understood the importance of keeping people dependent. He sought out a weak ruler,

Frederick William IV, king of Prussia and created a relationship of dependency. He was

a key player in restoring the king's power so much so that when the king died, his brother

William who preceded him depended on Bismarck as well. Bismarck became their strength, their

intelligence and their spine and in the process, he became a powerful force to reckon with,

he was the man behind the throne, calling the shots.

2. Enmesh yourself in the work of your superior

By doing this your superior knows that to get rid of you is futile. They can not afford

to train another without losing time and a lot of money.

3. Possess a talent and creative skill that simply cannot be replaced.

People will think twice before getting rid of you because to get rid of you may spell

disaster

If you have developed a skill most people don't have, then you have secured power

and influence over others.

4. Create a situation in which you can always latch on to another patron

This just simply means you have other places that will welcome your skills and talents.

5. Wrap yourself around the source of power

place yourself in a position that to cut you away would cause great trauma.

You do not necessarily have to entwine yourself around the superior; another person will do,

as long as he or she too is indispensable in the chain.

Do not imagine your superior's dependence on you will make them love you

It is more than likely that they resent and fear you, which is better that they fear the

consequences of losing you rather than out of love for your company.

Reversal

the weakness of making others depend on you, is that you are in some way measure dependent on them

but trying to move beyond that point means standing alone

no such independence comes without a price

you are forced to isolate yourself

and isolation is dangerous

Better to circulate among people, find allies and mingle. You are shielded from your enemies

by the crowd

Lisa Brennan-Jobs: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com - Duration: 12:30.

Lisa Brennan-Jobs: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

On August 1st, Lisa Brennan-Jobs published an excerpt about her childhood in Vanity Fair.

The passage is from her upcoming book "Small Fry.

" In it, she goes into detail of how tech God/co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, denied he was her father until she was seven years old.

Since Steve had another family, Lisa only saw him about every other month for a day or so.

In high school, she tried telling her classmates she had a famous dad, but found herself ridiculed.

Writer/journalist Lisa Brennan-Jobs has finally told us her story, and painted a bigger picture of who Steve Jobs was.

Here's what you need to know:.

Steve Jobs Swore he Wasn't Lisa's Father, But Then Named a Computer After Her.

  #livingcomputermuseum #apple #lisa #lisabrennanjobs A post shared by Erik Halstead (@sp_redelectric) on Jun 10, 2017 at 4:49pm PDT.

Lisa was born on a farm in Oregon in 1978.

"It's not my kid," Steve told everyone there, even though he'd flown to make the birth.

When Lisa's mother, Christen Brennan, was pregnant, Steve was designing Apple Lisa.

"It was the precursor to the Macintosh, the first mass-market computer with an external mouse—the mouse as large as a block of cheese," Lisa wrote.

According to Lisa's testimony, the computer was too expensive to be a commercial success, so 3,000 of them ended up buried in a landfill in Logan, Utah.

Steve told his daughter that Lisa stood for Locally Integrated Software Architecture.

When she asked if it was named after her, his response was, "sorry, kid.

According to Lisa, it wasn't until she was 27-years-old that Bono from U2 confessed that her father really had named his computer model after her.

Lisa writes about it extensively in her book.

The idea that he'd named the failed computer after me was woven in with my sense of self, even if he did not confirm it, and I used this story to bolster myself when, near him, I felt like nothing.

I didn't care about computers—they were made of fixed metal parts and chips with glinting lines inside plastic cases—but I liked the idea that I was connected to him in this way.

It would mean I'd been chosen and had a place, despite the fact that he was aloof or absent.

It meant I was fastened to the earth and its machines.

He was famous; he drove a Porsche.

If the Lisa was named after me, I was a part of all that.

I see now that we were at cross-purposes.

For him, I was a blot on a spectacular ascent, as our story did not fit with the narrative of greatness and virtue he might have wanted for himself.

My existence ruined his streak.

For me, it was the opposite: the closer I was to him, the less I would feel ashamed; he was part of the world, and he would accelerate me into the light.

When Lisa Was a Toddler, Her Mother Was on Welfare And Working Two Jobs to Take Care of Her.

Lisa claims she never saw a penny of her father's money.

Her mother cleaned houses and was a waitress, yet the two still needed welfare checks to survive.

After the result of a paternity test in 1980, Steve was order by the state of California to pay back child support and continued child support until Lisa reached adulthood.

Lisa announced back in March, that she's written a book about her childhood, which will be released on September 4th of this year.

"Small Fry" is all about the strange relationship she had with her father growing up; how they lived in two very different worlds.

According to Fortune, Lisa's mother Chrisann asked Steve for money for three years when she fell ill.

Chrisann leaked her emails with Steve to Fortune.

Hers read:.

I am asking you for the last time to please set up a trust for me for my life.

I do not want to cause conflict with you but I must do something.

I have been ill for three years and I just do not have a choice anymore….No one is going to be impressed with either of us in this book and it will hurt Lisa who never deserved any of this.

The choice is yours.

Please consider providing me with $10,000 for a few months and working out a trust.

You and I cannot talk because I am too ill and on a hair trigger… Given my circumstance, I am moving as fast as I can to have the money I need to live, it is either you or the book.

Steve responded with one line:.

"I do not react well to blackmail.

I will have no part of this.".

None of Steve's Inheritance Went to Lisa After His Death; She Paid Her Way Through Harvard.

  #stevejobs#laurenepowelljobs #remember #crazyones A post shared by steve jobs (@_steve_jobs_official_) on Apr 13, 2018 at 3:46am PDT.

"You're not getting anything.

You understand? Nothing.

You're getting nothing," Lisa said her father told her during one of her visits with him close to his death.

According to Business Insider, Steve Job's fortune went to his wife Laurene Powell Jobs and their three children: Reed, Erin and Eve.

Mrs.

Jobs is now among the 50 richest people in the world.

She inherited all of Steve's shares of Apple and Disney ($14.4 billion in total).

As for Lisa, she's had to support herself.

When she attended Harvard University from 1996-2000, she had to forge her father's signature to get in.

While there, she built a nice portfolio as a journalist that opened the door for her to write for big name publications.

(Her college articles can be viewed here.).

Since Graduating From Harvard, Lisa Has Written For Publications Such as: Vogue and O, the Oprah Winfrey Magazine.

Lisa moved to Manhattan, New York after graduating from Harvard University.

She's written for The Southwest Review, The Massachusetts Review, The Harvard Advocate, The L.A.

Times and others.

Bits and pieces of her story have been featured in films such as: "Pirates of Silicon Valley," "Jobs," and "Steve Jobs.

Lisa now lives in Brooklyn.

Here is a list of her appearances through October, where she'll be promoting her new book:.

Lisa Brennan-Jobs book tour schedule.

Lisa Visited Her Dad One Weekend a Month For a Year Until he Died, Hoping to Reconcile.

"I'd given up on the possibility of a grand reconciliation, the kind in the movies, but I kept coming anyway," Lisa wrote in Vanity Fair.

She began to steal little things from her father's house as he was slowly and painfully losing a battle to pancreatic cancer.

She wanted something to remember him by.

According to The Telegraph, Steve Jobs tried curing his cancer through acupuncture sessions, fruit juices, by visiting "spiritualists" and by using other naturopathic treatments he found on the internet.

His family and friends knew he needed to be operated on, but he wouldn't comply.

"Why would such a smart man do such a stupid thing?" Walter Isaacson, author of "Steve Jobs" wrote.

"I think he felt: if you ignore something you don't want to exist, you can have magical thinking.

It had worked for him in the past.

He would regret it.".

Think You Found the Right House? What Now? - Duration: 4:51.

Hi everyone! My name is Carolynn. I'm with the Wise Move AZ Team and we are with

Realty ONE Group. Welcome to the 6th episode of our 'Buyer Series'! The topic

today is: "When you think you found the ONE!". So, what's happened? You've been

searching for a new home for months, maybe longer. You've done your research,

you've been pre-approved, and you know this is the right neighborhood. You looked

through the house and it had felt right when you walked in the door. It has the

right number of bedrooms, the right number of bathrooms, the right garage

spaces, it ticks all the boxes on your 'Must-Have List', it ticks

some of the boxes on your 'Like to Have it List' and even some of the boxes

on your 'Nice to Have List'. Maybe you even got a little defensive when you were going

through the house and somebody (maybe your partner, maybe the REALTOR®) criticized

some aspect of the house. That, to me, says you've probably found the right

place! I want you now to take a step backwards; remember that this is a

lifetime decision. You're going to be there for a long time. This house is going to

be in your family photos long after you're gone

so make your right. Taking a step back, what I want you to do is to go back to

the house again. This time you're going to be thorough, you're going to

get emotion out of the picture. I want you to walk into every room (no peeking

your head around the corner, no leaning in), you need to get in each

room! Look at the floors, the floor coverings, the walls, the ceiling,

sprinkler heads, and inside closets. In the kitchen I want you turning on faucets, I

want you turning on the garbage disposal, etc. Any appliance that needs to be working when

you move in, turn it on, make sure that it's

working. Then I want you to go out into the backyard (and the front yard too).

I want you to look at the landscaping. What kind of landscaping is

it? Is it going to require a lot of water? Is it something that you're going to need to

work on? Is the barbecue built-in? Does it need pavers? Look at everything in the

backyard. Then I want you to listen. What noises do you hear? Do you have

noisy neighbours? Quiet neighbors? Dogs barking? Traffic noises? Listen,

because what you hear is what you're going to hear (if you move in). I also would like for you

Taking a step back, I forgot to mention that I want

you to do your tour of this home at a different time of day than what you did

the previous time. Houses look and feel a lot different at night than they

Can DNA Testing Tell You What You Should Be Eating? - Duration: 10:03.

If you thought 23andMe testing was just for learning about your ancestry we've

got a lot to share today and to help us dig into this is Alyson Roux.

Alyson, do you want to tell us a little bit about what your specialty is here?

Sure, I am a clinical nutritionist. I'm a CNS and I work with people who are struggling with

their relationship to food and I use a variety of tools including nutritional

genomics where sometimes we take a look at their DNA and how we might just make

the way that their metabolizing food a little bit more efficient so I have

interpreted both of your 23andMe raw files using a couple of different

programs and we're gonna talk through a few micronutrient implications that may

be beneficial for preventative health or if you have any kind of health conditions going on.

Okay, and for those people who might be a little confused...

This isn't like you do your 23andMe tests and you get it back and it tells

you all this. This is we got our results back we downloaded the raw data which is

an option that you can do and then we sent it to Alyson and then you go through and decipher.

Exactly here's the other cool part is that genetics we used to

think in the 90s when we started doing the human genome project was that

we thought that genetics were destiny, we thought okay here's your code like a

computer it's what it is – but that's not actually the case and genetics and some

of these common mutations think of them more like light switches where as you go

through life the light switches get turned on or turned off so perhaps you

have a year where you're working really hard

you're not perhaps eating enough of a varied diet you try maybe a crash diet

and it's really limited and you missed out on some nutrients maybe you get

fired from a job it's a tough year and that might turn some of those light

switches on that stress might turn on some of these mutations perhaps you have

some time where you simply have had very low stress

you're cooking like a champion or you have a private chef or you just

found like a really good meal delivery service or whatever works for your lifestyle

and perhaps through that and gentle like joyful exercise you're in

good shape and those light switches get turned off so the purpose of figuring

out what these mutations are it's just to simply try to turn off all those

light switches and and allow you to live kind of a more optimal life.

Yeah or like if our body was an iPhone and our enzymes are like the apps you're saying

that these can be like the updates to the apps.

Exactly!

I'm nailing this!

That's amazing.

Okay, so let's start with our editorial warrior

and so we're gonna go through just a few key what I call micronutrient

SNPs so a SNP is it's basically just a single little mutation it's one little

SNP in the code that it's going to change how your body metabolizes a

certain nutrient potentially... if it's triggered. So you had a couple of

superoxide dismutase SNPs and there's a lot of these there isn't just one of any

of these was a lot of them that come together to code for these these enzymes

so when somebody has this kind of result I just tend to recommend increasing

antioxidant rich foods so bright colored vegetables and fruits awesome so here's

the area that I think is probably the most popular to talk about in

nutritional genomics...

Is it about weight gain?

No!

What is it!?

It's about folate! Folate, also known as vitamin B9, and commercially known as

folic acid – folate is found in foods like dark leafy greens, broccoli, liver which

most people don't like but I grew up eating liver and I think it's delicious

I've been meaning to incorporate liver in!

Folate helps us make red blood cells it helps us actually even with some

making of DNA and it's something that generally when we have enough of it in

our diet we have reduced risk of colon cancer and reduced cardiovascular risk

so we want to make sure that we have adequate levels of folate

so then as far as supplements that we have here which ones are there any that

you would recommend for Zena to take?

So I think vitamin D would probably be a

good idea and then the other one some kind of B12, especially if you're

feeling low energy because of those SNPs might be helpful I tend to like to

make sure you have B12 as well as the B6 and B9 which is folate

Okay should we move on to you?

Super RD!

So one thing I wanted to point out for you that I find really interesting

there's this enzyme that

helps us convert Vitamin A that's from plants into Vitamin A that we can use

and do stuff with and when we eat Vitamin A in plants which is usually in

beta carotene form there's that just extra step couple steps that we have to

then convert it so we can help make collagen and support our skin and all of

those kinds of things and fight off oxidants so you have basically none of

the mutations in that enzyme so that's actually fairly rare and usually people

who don't have any of those mutations can get away with being a vegetarian

Oh, interesting...

So in terms of your sulfation SNPs they're in really good

shape so if you're having hormone balance issues it would potentially the

likelihood of it being related to that is low.

Okay. No, I think my hormones are okay.

My period comes like clockwork.

That's great.

And then I wanted to show you your Vitamin D

receptor gene so there's no mutation there it's totally wild type

which about 40 percent of the population has that is wild-type there so there you

have less of the risk of having a Vitamin D deficiency but that still

means you need to get it checked because it's so important with that I just covered those

basic kind of micronutrients so just a couple vitamins, the vitamin A, the Vitamin D...

the folate, B12 and then some of the minerals with magnesium and our amino

acids that we talked about it's like how to activate methionine into SAM-e so we

can metabolize our neurotransmitters efficiently

So what supplements would you recommend for Sarah then?

So for Sarah if your Vitamin D status is

healthy and and adequate you probably don't need to be taking any Vitamin D

also because you don't have the mutation

And then what about the... maybe the

Vitamin C also in this one for the antioxidant I think that's what it is

that's actually the the most important thing probably for you is to focus on

antioxidants and the cofactors that help in liver detoxification

Okay, cool

Amazing!

Well I think this is so cool I know when I got my 23andMe results you

know there's the health report in the system and mine just kind of said like

there were like two genes that were identified as off

maybe celiac and macular eye degeneration were the two that flagged so I

think this is such a cool resource I'm so appreciative that we got to do this

with you today I'm curious if other people are interested in this

how should they seek out this service?

So if other people are interested in this you

can upload your own 23andMe raw file to Genetic Genie

That's the nice free option

That's the free option or you can find a practitioner who uses some kind of other program

like the Methylgenetic Nutrition Analysis from DNASupplementation.com

or there's a variety of other tools

I think it's always better to work with a clinician who actually knows – who's

familiar with nutritional genomics it is a very new science and the literature is

is – it exists we know that we have some evidence for this but it's still

limited and new so it's really important to interpret with that caveat but it can

be a game-changer if you're really struggling with just that final piece to

optimizing how you feel

And where can people find you if they want to work

with you?

Oh! You can come to my website I'm at AlysonRoux.com

And we'll link it below too so if you want to talk to Alison and have her

help you interpret your results or dig into what's going on nutritionally she

can absolutely do that she's a great resource

Thanks so much for watching, guys.

If you like this video give it a thumbs up and comment below with

anything else you want to see. Bye!

Hi, it's Rita in the YouTube channel Rita Mayell. Oh, I'm so glad you could join me-Today is really a

day for me!

I am so excited to share with you and have you take part in something that I have waited for for almost 40 years.

You heard me, right?

40 years! When I was 17 years old a

Dream to write a book on the story of my father was placed in my heart

I would love to tell you that it was easy as 1 2 3, but it hasn't been.

There's been struggles and rejections and rewrites and

discouragement and

Frustration. Many times when I wanted to just throw it all out and say forget it

but when God puts a dream in your heart

It's all it includes

Everything of who he - his DNA which means it has everlasting life. It doesn't die

you can suppress it

You can oppress it, but it will always be there and that's one of the ways, you know

When a dream is a God dream versus your own dream

So today after many many years of waiting

The book is getting ready to launch

And the first copy of the proof was just delivered and I want to share in that with you

To allow you to share in it because first I'm an extrovert and I want people to share with it me in it

But I want you to to celebrate the amazing journey of where it now is

So I'm gonna open it and I want you to be here with me

It's kind of crazy

Wow

They always say when you open the first book that you just kind of stare at it the feel

I mean, it's this dream that I have lived for for 40 years and it's here

This is really amazing. I'm so excited. I can't wait for each of you to buy this book

Not just because the instant the story is going to be about an ordinary man

just like how we are that we're as able to do extraordinary things because of an encounter he had with

Jesus Christ, I want you all to be encouraged as much as I was encouraged by having him as a father

how we stopped for the homeless people how we and

just would stop and talk to anybody and bring them into our home and love them and

That's my legacy and it also can be yours because the same God that ignited him is ready to ignite you

Wow

This looks really amazing. This is exciting

Connection | Fly Fishing the Au Sable River | Pure Michigan - Duration: 6:08.

In that quietness, in the waiting, in the anticipation, even though it's still and

quiet and calm... inside the way that you feel about what could happen

it is like electric. It's a fire that's like, "Oh my gosh." That's the level of

excitement that I have every time that I go fishing. You know you go from level

You know you go from level zero, you're just sitting on the river, and in this case

we heard and saw a big fish rise.

Oh did you see that?

All of a sudden you're at a very heightened state.

You're tuned in to that fish.

You get in position, and at this point your heart's going and at the time

all you want is to hook the fish, but what's actually occurring is the best part.

That this special dance occurs it's like

sitting in at playhouse, and you don't know what the play is going to be or if

there's even gonna be a play, but every once in a while the lights come on and

it's spectacular.

And so when that connection happens and you set the hook and that fish

is there it's amazing. This thing is wild. We're connected.

Once you open that door, there are very few people that are able to close it.

You're pretty much down the rabbit hole and you're in love with the river.

My friend Kali and I are fishing on the Au Sable today.

The only rivers I've ever fished on are from my

hometown, just smallmouth bass. I've never fished for trout before.

Fly fishing is like an escape from it all stressful things in your life. Yeah you're really

just thinking about fishing and you're not thinking about work or school.

With a bobber at least you're just sitting there waiting so you'll like check your phone

and see what's going on in social media whereas here you're just thinking about

where are the fish what kind I want to catch a big fish. There's like a serenity but

also it's like a challenge.

I think a lot of people think fly-fishing is going to

be one sort of activity and they're surprised pleasantly when it's a

different sort. And they quickly open up something inside of them that they

didn't know they had

When you see it on a catalogue it's somebody smiling, casting, or you see it on a

commercial, they're casting and that's the excitement. It's just, "Oh I just love this."

"Casting." But they get out there and they see the river and they either see a fish

take something out the surface or they have a fish come for their fly and they

realize, no no no this is this is hunting. Immediately they went from something

where they thought they'd just be standing in a river going like this to,

"I'm trying to catch that fish."

And then they come in the shop and their questions are different.

They take that back to the river and maybe this time they raise the

fish but they don't hook them and they go, "What's wrong with a hook set?"

And we get to walk them through that and it can really take off for people.

Yeah each time you're like,

"Oh I did this wrong so I'm gonna alter this with my next cast."

And once you catch a fish you don't want to stop.

Yeah. Like you want to just keep going.

You're like, "Okay, I know I caught one and it was small but there's more."

Never satisfied. No, you want to keep going.

There's a puzzle there. It's like someone who likes to play crosswords.

They know they can solve them. It takes some time, maybe they won't get

it done before they have to go to work, but they still love it.

What keeps me coming back to the Au Sable... the mystery of it is what drives you.

It's the excitement that just stays in you.

At the end of my fishing career -- hopefully that's a long way from now -- one of the things

that I'll be most proud of with that is

that my friends and family have all had really cool experiences and

have all caught great fish sitting in the front seat of my boat.

My dad, my uncle, a lot of my friends, you know, some of their best trophies and their best

nights have been with me on that boat.

I've been fortunate to fish with my dad and my son for the last few years and we

take a Father's Day float I just I'd love to see that continue on where you

know future generations are going to enjoy the same things.

At the end of the day, it's about

camaraderie, you know, being with people that you love.

This trip was awesome and just being with the group we had, it was super fun.

I finally caught my first fish while fly fishing so... It was awesome!

Yeah. Like, I've never...

The feel and everything... Yeah I've never held a trout before and it was cool.

I want to catch more fish. I want to try different areas of the river.

it's always like, "One more cast! One more cast!"

That that's how it is with me for fly fishing.

It's it's the the procedure of it is ingrained as something I truly enjoy.

So after I put the kids to bed, even though I have to get up at 6:00 in the morning.

I'm going fishing.

8 Health Checks You Can Do at Home - Duration: 6:57.

8 Health Checks You Can Do at Home

There are several health checks you can do at home to look at your vision, food tolerance, digestive health, and many other aspects that can indicate that something is going on with your body.

If you do these health checks frequently, it can help you control your health and identify if it is necessary to see a specialist.

Do you want to learn how to do these?.

Taste.

For this test you will need a little blue food coloring, which you will apply to the tongue using a little cotton.

You are then going to observe the results with a magnifying glass by counting the number of taste buds close to the front part of the tongue.

If you count 20 or more blue points you have a good sense of taste and could be known as a "supertaster".

According to some articles this isn't good, since a "supertaster" is associated with a higher risk for certain types of cancer.

Some vegetables like broccoli and cabbage have bitter components that help protect against cancer, but these foods can be really unsavory for a supertaster.

Basically, the correlation between being a supertaster and having a higher risk of cancer is due to the sensitivity to vegetables, which are high in cancer-fighting antioxidants and vitamins.

Retention of liquids.

To see if you are retaining liquids, press downward firmly with your thumb in three or four places on the upper and lower parts of the legs.

If the area you press stays white for a couple seconds after you remove your thumb, you are retaining fluids.

You can tell by seeing if the knees or ankles look swollen.

In this case, it is recommended to eat less salt in foods and eliminate processed foods from your diet.

It is also good to drink more water.

Anemia.

A lack of iron in the diet can cause anemia.

To test whether or not you suffer from anemia, extend your hand out with your palm face up and push the fingers back.

If after a few seconds the hand looks paler, especially the deep lines, you can tell this may be a problem.

It is better to consult a physician to confirm the diagnosis.

If you are suffering from anemia, eating red meat and leafy greens can help.

Food tolerance.

Take a spoonful of baking soda, and mix it with a glass of water and drink it.

If you burp immediately after, that is a good sign.

Putting and alkaline substance into the stomach creates gas.

If you don't burp, it can be a sign that the levels of stomach acid are low and aren't absorbing all of the nutrients in food.

Vision.

If you want to test your vision, walk 20 full steps back from a parked car.

Then look at the license plate.

Can you read the numbers with clarity? If you notice some distortion or blurriness, it is a sign that something isn't right.

It is best to go see a specialist.

Cholesterol.

If you want to test whether or not your cholesterol levels are high, look at the skin above and below the eyes.

Are there any yellow spots? These are fat deposits that indicate high cholesterol.

If this occurs, it is best to see a doctor to take the necessary measures.

These little balls of fat only show up when cholesterol is very high for an extended period of time.

Digestive health.

Many times, when certain types of foods are digested, you can immediately feel full, bloated, or heavy.

If you want to know if this is due to a food intolerance do the following test:.

Before eating a food that upsets your stomach, take your pulse.

Afterwards, eat a medium to large-sized portion of this food, and take your pulse.

If you notice that it has increased more than 10 beats per minute, it is likely due to a food allergy.

Lung function.

If you want to test your lung functioning and possible problems, stand about 30 centimeters away from a burning candle and exhale with the mouth open.

Do you notice a strange sound? If this occurs it can be a warning sign of asthma, especially if you tend to cough at night.

If you don't have these symptoms but feel that your lungs aren't as flexible as they should be, it is possible that you aren't in good physical shape.

Boise, ID Water Quality Assessment: What You Need To Know - Duration: 3:15.

Boise, Idaho recently released its annual water quality report, and our Water Nerds

dug through it so you don't have to!

Make sure to comment below to suggest which city our Water Nerds should tackle next.

Let's start with Chromium 6.

Chromium 6 is a highly toxic metal that is currently unregulated by the EPA.

Chromium 6 pollution is associated with metal processing, tannery facilities, chromate production,

stainless steel welding, and pigment production.

This years water quality report for Colorado Springs found levels of Chromium 6 as high

as 2 parts per billion.

These levels are 100 times higher than the concentration determined to have a negligible

impact on cancer risk.

EPA has acknowledged that Chromium 6 is a known human carcinogen through inhalation,

but is still determining its cancer potential through ingestion of drinking water.

Lung, nasal and sinus cancers are associated with Chromium 6 exposure.

Next is Arsenic.

Arsenic is a heavy metal that typically leaches into groundwater as surrounding bedrock naturally

weathers overtime.

The high levels of Arsenic in Boise's drinking water are definitely of concern.

Concentrations were detected as high as 17 parts per billion and averaged 8.3 parts per

billion.

The federal Maximum Contaminant Level for Arsenic in drinking water is 10 parts per

billion, but regulatory agencies acknowledge that this level should be reduced to 1 or

even 0 parts per billion.

Arsenic is a toxic substance that is linked to a long list of health problems in humans.

For example, arsenic can skin, bladder, lung, liver, and prostate cancers are associated

with Arsenic exposure.

Next is disinfection byproducts or DBPs.

DBPs are formed when chlorine-based disinfectants that are routinely added to the water supply

to kill bacteria, and react with organic matter.

Concentrations of haloacetic acids averaged 34.4 parts per billion and reached levels

as high as 45.9 parts per billion.

Concentrations of trihalomethanes averaged 35.1 parts per billion, but levels were detected

as high as 48.4 parts per billion.

For a bit of perspective, EPA's maximum contaminant level for haloacetic acids is

60 parts per billion and 80 parts per billion for trihalomethanes.

Regulatory agencies have very little knowledge about the adverse health effects of DBPs,

and their toxicity.

EPA has stated that they have been linked to an increased risk of bladder cancer, as

well as kidney, liver, and central nervous system problems.

High concentrations of Uranium were also detected in Boise's drinking water.

Uranium contaminates drinking water when groundwater dissolves urainium-containing rocks and minerals.

Uranium is not as radioactive as the media would have you to believe.

It's actually weakly radioactive, but it can still cause adverse health effects when

ingested, especially in the kidneys.

This years report found that uranium levels in Boise were on average 26 parts per billion

but reach concentrations as high as 29 parts per billion.

The maximum contaminant level for uranium is 30 parts per billion.

Our Water Nerds are on the lookout for other cities to cover.

If you would like us to see what's going on in your hometown, please let us know and comment

below!

Also, if you have any questions about this report or anything else water related, drop

us a line at hello@hydroviv.com, or visit hydroviv.com and use our live chat.

Fernando Negrete: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com - Duration: 7:39.

Fernando Negrete: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Fernando Negrete is an employee at a shelter for immigrant kids who is accused of molesting a 14 year old shelter resident.

A witness said she saw Negrete kissing and touching a 14 year old girl in her room.

On July 31, police in Phoenix arrested the 32 year old Negrete for allegedly kissing the girl and touching her inappropriately over her clothes in her room.

Negrete admitted to kissing and touching the girl, who pushed him away.

Negrete has been fired from his job and is in jail awaiting his first court date.

The shelter he worked in is run by Southwest Key, a Texas-based company.

Southwest Key is a private company contracted by the Department of Health and Human Services.

It operates more than two dozen detention facilities for immigrant children in Texas, Arizona and California.

In recent years, Southwest Key has faced other charges that their employees molested children in their care.

Here's what you need to know:.

Negrete Faces Charges of Child Molestation After Allegedly Touching the 14 Year Old's Breasts And Crotch Through Her Clothes.

Witnesses say that Negrete kissed the 14 year old girl, and touched her breasts and her crotch through her clothes.

The girl's identity has been kept hidden for the sake of her privacy.

The victim said that Negrete came into her room at night to kiss and touch her.

She said that she pushed him away.

A witness — a 16 year old girl who was staying at the same facility — said she saw Negrete kissing and touching the girl.

And surveillance video from the facility shows that Negrete was repeatedly approaching the girl's room on the evening of June 27.

Negrete Has Been Fired and Has Been Jailed Until His Next Court Hearing, on August 7.

Police arrested Negrete on July 31.

Southwest Key, the company that runs the immmigration shelter, fired Negrete.

Jeff Eller, a Southwest Key spokesman, told the press that the company had terminated Negrete but did not give any further details.

He added, "When a child tells us of inappropriate behavior, we immediately call law enforcement and start an internal investigation as appropriate.

"Southwest Key always works with law enforcement to bring the full force of the law to bear when it is warranted.".

Negrete's bond is set at $150,000 and his next court hearing is scheduled for August 7.

He faces charges of molestation, aggravated assault and sexual abuse.

Southwest Key, the Company That Runs the Shelter, Has Faced Allegations of Sexual Abuse in the Past.

This isn't the first time that Southwest Key has faced charges of sexual abuse at their facilities.

Records obtained by the Arizona Republic show there have been at least two alleged incidents of child sexual abuse at Southwest Key immigration facilities.

A 15-year-old boy charged in 2015 that a Southwest Key employee named Oscar Trujillo had touched him in his genital area over his clothing and tried to pull down his pants.

Trujillo was convicted of class 5 sexual abuse.

And in 2017, a girl at the Glendale Southwest Key facility accused a staff member in of making sexually suggestive comments to her and dancing inappropriately in front of other children there.

Southwest Key told police they were handling that matter internally.

Negrete Allegedly Confessed to Kissing and Touching the 14 Year Old.

Phoenix Police sergeant Vince Lewis said that police responded to a call at the Southwest Key facility — which is located near 26th and Campbell avenues — on the afternoon of July 25.

The police report said that a 16 year old girl — the alleged victim's roommate — told police she had "observed Negrete kissing and inappropriately touching" the alleged victim.

The witness said that Negrete had kissed the girl three or four times.

Negrete apparently admitted to police that he had touched the girl over her clothes and that he had kissed her.

Last Week, News Reports Said a Six Year Old Was Molested By Another Child At A Southwest Key Facility.

The Nation magazine reported last week that a six year old girl had been sexually abused in another Southwest Key Facility.

The alleged victim has only been identified by her initials, D.L.

According to the Nation, D.L was allegedly abused by a boy at the Southwest Key facility on at least two separate occasions.

The Nation's reporting indicates that Southwest Key was aware of the allegations after the first incident.

They told D.L.'s father and provided some form of counseling for D.L.

— but allegedly, even after that, the same boy fondled D.L.

and other girls at the facility again.

Chloe Wright is accused of hitting a man's vehicle after seeing his Trump bumper sticker.

Chloe Wright is accused of targeting another driver for being a supporter of President Donald Trump.

The victim, who spoke with reporters from WBZ-TV but did not share his name, said Wright slammed into the back of his SUV after seeing he had a Trump bumper sticker.

He recorded the incident on his phone and Wright is facing charges.

Here's what you need to know.

Chloe Wright Allegedly Followed the Victim, Honking Her Horn at Him Before Yelling That He Was a Racist.

The victim told the Barnstable police that he was driving in the village of Hyannis when the incident occurred.

When he stopped at a red light, the car behind him started honking the horn.

He continued driving, and the other driver kept following him.

He stopped at a second red light.

In addition to the honking, the victim also heard someone shouting.

He told police that he thought something might be wrong with his vehicle, so he stepped out of the SUV to investigate.

He said at that point, he could hear the driver behind him yelling about his Trump bumper sticker.

He later identified her as Chloe Wright to police.

He said Wright asked if he had voted for Trump.

He responded, "Yes, what of it?" He said that prompted Wright to hurl more insults and curse words at him, including calling him a racist.

Chloe Wright is Accused of Intentionally Ramming the Victim's Vehicle and Nearly Hitting the Man.

Chloe Wright is then accused of using her car to physically attack the victim.

She must not have realized that the victim had taken his cellphone out and begun recording.

He shared that video with Boston station WBZ-TV.

The victim said Wright repositioned her car and rammed the back of his vehicle.

According to the police report, the victim says he stepped into the opening of the driver's side door as she began driving around the side of his SUV.

But she was not done.

Wright then allegedly hit his open door, missing him by inches.

He told police, "She bent my door and I had to lean back to avoid getting hit.

She also hit the side of my car.".

After Wright drove away, he called Barnstable police.

The victim's girlfriend was in the passenger seat at the time, and backed up his statement to police.

Chloe Wright Was Identified as the Driver Through a License Plate Check.

Chloe Wright is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Barnstable Police quickly arrived on the scene to investigate.

When he was recording with his cellphone, the victim had managed to get an image of the car's license plate.

The video captured the moment the gray Honda Civic had hit his driver's side door.

Police officers looked up Wright's license plate number.

That led to a driver's license photo of 25-year-old Chloe Wright from Taunton, Massachusetts.

Officers showed that picture to the victim, and he identified her as the attacker.

Chloe Wright Was Arrested A Month After the Incident.

Chloe Wright of Taunton, Massachusetts was identified as the driver involved in the hit & run.

The incident happened June 30 in the village of Hyannis, which is about 70 miles southeast of Boston.

Wright was arrested four weeks after the incident.

Police picked her up in the town of Bourne in Barnstable County on July 30.

State police did a random check of her license plate.

That random check revealed an open warrant on charges.

Wright was taken into custody and later released on $1,250 bail.

She was ordered to stay away from the victim.

Chloe Wright Could Face Several Years in Prison if Convicted.

Chloe Wright is due back in court August 28.

The charges against her include:.

• Assault with a dangerous weapon.

• Vandalizing property.

• Leaving the scene of property damage.

How to smile without looking like a creep - Duration: 2:50.

How much of your teeth should you show when you smile?

How wide should your grin be, and what if it's crooked?

Using a variety of computer-animated faces, researchers from the University of Minnesota

have done their best to isolate the traits of a winning smile.

It's no laughing matter.

For people with paralysis or other medical conditions, being physically unable to smile

can cause communication problems, anxiety, and depression.

This study could help doctors who perform facial reanimation surgery and rehabilitation—

understanding the characteristics of a great smile will help us to make sure

a grin doesn't look like a grimace.

The researchers had an artist create 27 different smiles on a computer-animated face,

varying the smile's angle, width, toothiness, and degree of crookedness on each face.

802 people at the Minnesota State Fair then rated each one based on

its effectiveness, genuineness, pleasantness, and the emotion expressed.

One quick note!

Facial reconstruction techniques are pretty limited when it comes to restoring movement

around the eyes.

To acknowledge that, the scientists never changed or crinkled the model's eyes,

even as its smile got bigger.

So if you have full control of your facial muscles, your giant grin is probably still charming.

Ok, here's what the researchers found:

Bigger isn't always better.

Smiles with a low to medium width tended to get better ratings.

Big smiles were rated worst when combined with a high angle (or upturn) and a lot of teeth.

In fact, smiles with a medium upturn tended to be more popular in general.

More V-shaped smiles creeped people out.

But how much of your teeth should you show?

Just a little, or maybe none at all.

Open-mouth smiles can easily be mistaken for a sign of fear or contempt—

the two lowest rated smiles were both pretty toothy.

And don't be afraid of a little asymmetry.

A slight crookedness is actually better than none—it probably makes people feel like

the smile is more genuine.

But if the left and right sides of the mouth weren't synced within 125 milliseconds,

people started to get weirded out.

Say cheese.

Top Five Things You Can Purchase for Bitcoin - Duration: 6:00.

Good day, dear viewers of CryptoTimes.TV!

We all know that investing in cryptocurrencies is a buzzword and it's been trending for

quite a while.

It is also obvious that the current price dynamics of many coins offers a lot of

opportunities for everyone to become a little bit richer by trading digital assets.

However, exchange trading is not exactly what Bitoin was made for.

In their Whitepaper Satoshi Nakamoto made it clear that the main goal

of creating a currency based on blockchain technology is to achieve freedom from the

financial institutions that are managing most of our

money at the moment.

And this freedom can only be achieved through widespread adoption of

Bitcoin as a means of paying for goods and services in day to day life of regular people.

As of today citizens of the most civilized countries of the world are legally allowed

to use Bitcoin to purchase virtually everything that

can be bought.

However, in today's review we're not going to talk about those numerous European

cafes where you can pay for your coffee with coins from a digital crypto wallet.

We would like to highlight more interesting things that have a

price tag in cryptocurrency.

That's why we've compiled this Top Five Things You Can Purchase

for Bitcoin.

#5 Pizza for bitcoin

Remember how a guy from Florida Laszlo Hanyecz offered his 10,000 BTC in exchange for two

pizzas in May 2010?

He even had to create a designated thread on bitcointalk.org in order to find

someone who could take care of his order.

And today the crypto community celebrates May 22

as the official day of the very first bitcoin payment aka Bitcoin Pizza Day.

Luckily at the moment there are a large number of pizzerias available to all hungry crypto

fans that can deliver an order of any volume right

to your door.

And for far less bitcoin, too, compared to what Laszlo had to pay back in

the day.

We want to mention just one of such establishments – pizzaforcoins.com.

The team of this project accepts over 50 cryptocurrencies.

This is how it works.

A client enters their location and checks if there are any pizzerias around that

are partnered with pizzaforcoins.com.

If yes, the client simply leaves their order on the website

and makes the payment in crypto.

All the rest is done by the team, so all you have to do is

wait for your order to be delivered and rate the service

after you've satisfied your hunger, if you wish.

#4 Pay Your Taxes

How do you know that a country is on the right path to accepting cryptocurrency?

One effective way is to take a look at its taxation practices.

Last May a Florida county tax collector has partnered with bitcoin payments processor

BitPay to accept cryptocurrency for a variety of services.

The tax collector now takes bitcoin and bitcoin cash for payments associated with driver

licenses, ID cards, license plates and property tax.

It is the first time BitPay has partnered with official authorities which says a lot

in terms of 2018 being a truly revolutionary year in the progress

that cryptocurrencies have made so far.

#3 Crypto Town in Norway

Recently we reported about crypto Antlantis that is going to rise from the waters of the

Pacific Ocean by 2022.

It's a project to set up an artificial island that will have its own government and

its residents will use the cryptocurrency called Varyon to purchase real estate and

make other kinds of payments.

However, the idea of selling and buying real estate for crypto isn't new.

For instance, we still have a chance to purchase a plot of land in

the Norwegian town of Liberstad.

This is another interesting project which aims to establish

Norway's first "private city".

It was launched on June 1 last year with the emphasis on total independence

of private property.

As of yet, over 100 citizens of Brazil, the UK, Sweden and 30

other nations have purchased their little piece of

freedom.

1,000 square meters will cost you $9,400 which at the moment amounts to just over one BTC.

And there is more – Bitcoin Cash is also on the list of possible payment methods.

#2 Fancy Cars

One usual attribute of any bitcoin millionaire is a brand new Lamborghini.

This image is hardwired in our minds so deeply that we hardly

notice many other prestigious automobiles that

can be purchased for crypto.

For example, not long ago the London-based BMW dealership Stephen James started processing

bitcoin payments.

And since the company opted for BitPay for this purpose, it is very likely to

see more clients that wish to pay in Bitcoin Cash, as with this currency the transactions

are executed without fee.

Yet another example is the Oklahoma-based team of Classic Recreations that makes custom

vehicles of the American car industry.

The company is planning to start accepting Bitcoin as well

as an extended number of altcoins – Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum и Docademic.

#1 Spacetravel

Richard Branson, an English entrepreneur and investor as well as a bitcoin enthusiast made

space flights possible for those who are willing

to pay bitcoin for the pleasure.

The news appeared on the Internet in November 2013, when the businessman announced in his

blog that his company Virgin Galactic had sold the first ticket for a space flight to

a flight attendant from Hawaii.

She paid 342 for the ticket.

The dollar price for a flight stays the same still – $250,000 – but if you'd like

to pay in bitcoin, that'd be roughly 31 coins.

We believe that Virgin Galactic will continue accepting payments in this digital currency,

because Sir Branson is convinced that this form of money will replace the average bills

and coins that we are used to carry around

in our wallets.
