Wendy Leung: Do you suffer from IBS-C for constipation?

Watch this video to learn how to get things moving again.

For the most helpful information you'll find about IBS online subscribe to my channel and

hit the bell to be notified every single Friday when I post a new video.

If you're so congested because you're rarely able to go the the bathroom by the end of

this video, you'll know that there's hope out there for you to have good poos.

I'm Wendy Leung: Holistic Health & Happiness Coach, Licensed Acupuncturist, and

Powerhouse IBS Conqueror, and I had IBS-C too.

I teach my clients how to get their guts in order.

And now I'm sharing with you too.

Poo talk alert: Today we're talking all about IBS constipation.

Poo, poo, poo, poo, poo, poo, poo, poo, poo, poo, poo.

Constipation is a broad term.

It can mean that you're able to go but that it's difficult, or that only small amounts

come out at a time and you don't feel like you're done going even though you're gone

multiple times during the day.

Or, worse case, that you're not able to go for days at a time.

Or maybe even longer.

Are those the kinds of constipation that you have.

Let me know by dropping a yes or no in the comments below.

None of these are fun.

And being chronically constipated means that you're congested, compacted, and stagnated

inside your digestive tract.

It's like that way a garbage truck compacts waste, except it's stuck inside your body

and it won't come out.

So this is obviously now healthy because you feel so heavy, bloated, gassy, and painful

that you don't want to eat because you have no idea where there food is going to fit.

One of the problems that can happen with chronic constipation is that you might start relying

on external medicines to help you go.

There's a bunch you can take with water and tablets that you can insert, that you can

force flush.

But none of these things fix the actual problem, and a lot of times they can cause long-term

dependencies, compounding the issue.

From a Western medical standpoint, these external medicines focus on two problem areas.

Water absorption issues, i.e. your body isn't handling fluids properly inside your colon.

Or colon motility issues, i.e. your body isn't creating the movement needed to push your

poo through and out.

When I had IBS-C my gastral specialist told me just to eat more bran in order to bulk

up my stool to push it out.

So that turned out to be the worst advice ever, because it just caused by bloating and

my gas pains to flare up even more intensely when things still didn't move.

And the meds they gave me to induce colonic spasms, well, it sounds exactly as painful

as it was.

And still no poos.

From a traditional Chinese medicine perspective, or TCM for short, there are ten different

diagnoses for chronic constipation.

Ten.

Which stands to reason that there's no one size fits all medicine that will help everyone.

We can get an idea of which one is happening to you based on your description of your poo,

although really your full health history is need to know for sure.

Pellet poo, for example, is an indicator of Liver Qi stagnation, i.e. stress in passing

the digestive system.

Stress causes your body to clamp down so it creates pellets going through the intestine

instead of a smooth log.

Pencil poo usually shows an exhaustion of the body.

There's not enough force to push out a full size poo.

So what are your options if you don't want to keep depending on laxatives and suppositories?

One is to get a handle on your stress.

You'll hear me say time and time again that in TCM, IBS combination of mental/emotional

stress and an already weak digestive system.

In order to restore your body's natural function, you need to relax the body from the inside

out and the outside in.

I know from experience that this is way easier said than done, especially when your IBS stresses

you out even more, which is why my IBS program actually has an entire section on long-term

stress and anxiety reduction.

The second thing to do is to remember to breathe.

When you are stressed and anxious, your body tends to clamp down and hold and then you

often forget to breathe properly.

But there's a really strong connection between the lung and the large intestine organ system

in TCM.

And so taking care of your lungs will help your gut too.

The third thing, to keep moving.

It can be super painful to exercise when you're feeling bloated and congested.

But one of the best ways to open up your body is to promote flow by moving around.

And I'm not talking about high impact cardio here.

That's just going to exhaust you and make you feel worse.

But going for daily walks and taking in fresh air, especially in calming area like parks,

or really getting out of the city, is going to help get your circulation going.

Stretching can also really be helpful for blood flow.

And there's even yoga moves that you can do specifically for constipation, too.

Lastly, you want to make sure you're eating the right food.

Some foods, like dairy, sugary, or greasy, and cold foods put out the digestive fire

and cause sluggishness all the way through the digestive system.

So make sure that you're always following the TCM golden rule of thumb: warm, simple,

cooked meals.

So that you're not eating the wrong foods that will make your constipation worse.

So to recap, here are the four things that you can do to get your constipation moving.

Number one: stress management.

Number two: Remember to breathe.

Number three: Regular low impact exercise.

And number four: Eating right, warm, simple, cooked food.

Oh, and number five: Patience.

Remember that all these things are going to take time to resolve your constipation.

Don't expect immediate results, like those over-the-counter meds that you've been taking.

But do expect long-term healing because that's the ultimate goal, right?

Okay.

So if you're ready to start moving your poo right away, subscribe to my newsletter in

Landlords - Are You Using The Right Tenancy for your Tenant? - Duration: 4:39.

One of the things to consider about standard tenancy agreements is I know

there's HMO investors in here; you wouldn't use a standard AST

for a single let, and then use the same one for a HMO, would you guys?

Is there any HMO landlords in here, or are you all just not admitting it?

So one of the reasons why you wouldn't use the same contract is you would still

use an assured shorthold tenancy but the clauses would need to be different

because HMOs normally include bills whereas a normal tenancy on a single

let would be the tenants responsibility.

Also you need to have something in there about the communal areas

because when you're doing a tenancy on a house share you're only doing

a tenancy on one room, so not the whole of the house so

you need to consider what type of tenancy you're entering into.

Some other areas where you may use a different contract do any of you in here ever or

have you ever let to a company? Company - you have yeah? - Company lets require a

completely different tenancy agreement that fall completely out of the Housing Act.

So all these talk that we've talked to you about Section 8, Section 21

none of that applies. Deposit registration doesn't apply if it's a non-Housing Act agreement

One of the most other common non Housing Act agreements is if

the landlord is resident within the property.

So if you were an owner of a property, rent out one of your rooms, you could not use an AST,

You should use a non-Housing Act agreement because it doesn't fall under the Housing Act.

So that covers what you should be considering in terms of when

selecting a contract to use for your tenants; and a few things to bear in mind

here about assured shorthold tenancies and the ones that were with the

tenancy that we're looking at currently.

Just out of interest,

do any of you have any tenants that have been in a property prior to 1997?

the reason I ask is a landlord came to me previously and he'd had

a tenant that had been in there since 1993.

one of the things to consider if

you're looking at buying properties with resident tenants these years become

really important because if the tenant had moved in prior to this date, then

they would automatically be on an assured tenancy unless a Section 20

notice was issued to the tenant.

Even more scarily we only actually have one at

the moment in our managed portfolio if you have any tenancies that are prior

to 1988 they are going to be on rent protected tenancies which means there

are huge restrictions of ever getting that tenant out because they have

succession of tenancy.

We have one left of those in our managed portfolio but I

know that investors are looking to purchase these properties because

they're selling cheaper because the value of them are a little bit lower so

just consider that.

So this is what we're working at at the moment

guys there's no minimum term on an AST. Most people think that minimum term on

an AST is 6 months. It isn't. It can be a week, it can be a month, it can be two months

It can be whatever length of time you and the tenant decide for it to be

however as you're all landlord in the room, one of the things to consider is you as the

landlord cannot gain possession of that property until at least six months have

passed if the tenants don't agree to leave at the end of contract.

does that make sense?

Because we cannot use Section 21 until

four months have passed.

We now automatically any tenancy that's created

that is an AST after 1997 automatically becomes an AST and we don't need to

serve the section 20 notice that we did up until that point.

We're now entitled to possession after two months arrears rather than three months arrears

As you can see, they're trying to make they were trying to

better for landlords so they reduced the arrears.

They introduced Section 21 to enable you to gain possession of the properties without the

without the use of Section 8 and the tenant is entitled to a statement of

terms within 28 days of request but that now is all within your tenancy agreement,

the tenancy agreement that they sign is their statement of terms, and the 17

grounds for possession which enables you now to obtain possession under 17

different things with many more being added.

Here's Why People Are Ditching Their Plastic Drinking Straws - Duration: 3:19.

Have you ever noticed how restaurants always give you a straw in your drink, whether or

not you asked for one?

These small disposable tubes are a convenience that we have gotten used to over the years,

but they have a great impact on the environment.

It has been estimated that we use one straw every 4 minutes, and throw them away as soon

as we're done with them.

They're not biodegradable, meaning that the earth's micro organisms can't recycle

them naturally and they take 200 years to finally decompose.

Awareness was brought to this issue after marine biologists in Costa Rica filmed the

suffering of a turtle as a plastic straw was being removed from it's nose.

Straws not only affect sea life, but also the birds that get their food from the ocean.

It has been estimated that 10 million tons of plastic end up in the ocean every year,

and out of those 10 million, 100 thousand are disposable plastic straws.

And if that wasn't enough, it's very hard to recycle straws.

For you to have an idea, 500 thousand straws are used daily, in the USA alone.

The good news is that there are places in the world, such as Malibu, Seattle, Vancouver

and even the United Kingdom that have banned the use of straws.

Some businesses, such as Starbucks, have also promised to get rid of all plastic straws.

But it's not only the environment that suffers from use of straws.

They can also have a negative impact on our health.

First of all, drinking through a straw causes more air to enter our digestive system, which

increases the probability of flatulence and bloating.

Another negative side effect is a larger risk of cavities and stains on your teeth.

Many people believe that using straws can help prevent these problems.

But this is only true if the straw carries the liquid straight to our throat, avoiding

all contact with the rest of our mouth, including our teeth.

Furthermore, the regular use of straws can cause wrinkles to appear around your mouth,

similar to the ones that appear when people smoke.

And, the materials used to make straws can have an impact on our endocrine system.

According to the researcher and nutritionist, Christy Brissette, the polypropylene in plastic

straws can filter into the water and affect our body's estrogen levels, being highly

carcenogenic.

She considers most plastics to be harmful to our health, and recommends that we avoid

them as often as possible.

Either way, now that we know about all of the risks tied to plastic straws, we should

rethink our decisions.

If you have no problems drinking, it's always best to drink straight from your cup.

If for any reason you need a straw to be able to drink, there are alternatives made from

other materials such as bamboo, glass, and straw, that are less harmful to our health

and the environment.

What does the NHS mean to you? - Duration: 3:49.

I've had a lot of personal experiences with the NHS

and it was after that experience and how

the staff made it so much easier for

us to cope with what we were going through

that I thought that's an organisation that's doing great

things and I want to be part of that.

My mum had cancer and when I saw this job

that came up I just thought this is a

perfect way to give something back, if possible.

I think I just have this overwhelming feeling

of wanting to help people.

My mum worked in the NHS and I think

what I saw there inspired me really.

It's definitely the people that you work with.

You're making a difference to people's

lives you make a difference at the time

that they're most vulnerable.

I started volunteering here to say thank you to

the hospital for looking after somebody

that's very, very special to me.

It gives me a tremendous sense of

self-worth knowing that the little bit

I do is allowing the nurses to do

what they do best.

We're working with cutting-edge technology,

new techniques,

but the main motivation is the difference it makes

to our patients.

When you come to the hospital, reception staff are the

first ones that they see,

so if they get that nice, relaxing attitude from us, they

know that they're going to be okay.

Even if it's a tiny thing from our perspective

like validating a parking ticket and just being friendly and jovial and nice.

It's the feeling you have

knowing you make a small, but significant difference —

that's what's important for us,

that's what's important for my colleagues,

that's what's important for me.

It's not only the patients that we care for,

it's our colleagues

and making sure that everyone's okay —

that's what strengthens us and that's what pulls us closer together.

The thing that gets me to work

everyday is that real sense of community.

The teamwork's brilliant

people just work together, help each other out.

We are stretched right now, we're working to the best of our abilities,

we won't let that affect our quality of care.

When I'm in someone's home, I'm not thinking

about the state of the NHS,

I'm just thinking about that one face-to-face moment.

Everyone has wanted to go that extra mile. Nobody's really looking at

the clock to see what time they finish.

We're all here for the same reason — to

help our patients.

You're part of something bigger

you're not just part of your hospital you're part the NHS, which is just great.

I think the greatest asset we have is our

National Health Service. At the core of it,

it represents all the goodness in humanity.

The purpose of it is to give

good healthcare for all.

I'm proud of working for an institution like that,

where that's the main core value.

I think it's a real privilege to come in every day and

contribute to patient care,

which actually has a huge impact on society.

I've got nothing but respect for the NHS.

I think what they do and the conditions sometimes

they do it on — they're amazing, absolutely amazing.

I am very proud to work in this place.

It just make me happiness of this what I'm doing.

It's the 70th year were celebrating at the moment,

imagine all the lives that been affected in that time in a positive way.

So to work for an organisation such as the NHS is a real

honour that makes me proud to be here.

I absolutely love my job. I have never been

so happy at work. I feel like I'm really part of something and I belong here.

The one word I would use to describe the NHS is caring.

Inspiring

Equality

Life-saving

Compassion.

Just simply say, amazing.

The one word that I would choose for it would be lifeline.

For me it is vital.

Definitely diverse.

I describe the NHS as supportive.

One word to describe the NHS would just be incredible.

I think it's a fantastic service and it's almost

like a national treasure — a bit like David Attenborough!

Ewan McGregor Takes The "Which Winnie The Pooh Character Are You" Quiz - Duration: 1:39.

- Hello, I'm Ewan McGregor and I play Christopher Robin.

And today I'm taking the BuzzFeed quiz

Which Winnie The Pooh Character Are You?

So, the first question is how do you like to eat your honey?

Straight out of the jar, on your toast,

on your pizza, on your pancakes, on your fruit, in your tea.

I would take it straight out of the jar.

How would your best friend describe you?

Ambitious, optimistic, introverted,

loving, hilarious, adventurous.

I think probably adventurous.

- Oh, that would be telling.

I wouldn't be so indiscreet as to say.

Choose a Disney princess to join you on an adventure.

For the sake of my daughters, it's gonna have to be Elsa.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Cooking, exercising, hanging out with friends and family,

watching TV, traveling, sleeping.

Oh, the truth is there's a quite of few of those.

There's sleeping, traveling,

and hanging out with friends and family.

So I'm gonna have to choose between those three.

I'm gonna choose hanging out with friends and family.

And then describe your laugh in one word.

Deep, infectious, loud, soft, rambunctious, or maniacal.

I would like to hope it was infectious.

(drum rolling)

You got Winnie-the-Pooh.

Hey!

Oh, hunny, you're a highly curious individual

who is equal parts lovable and charming.

You're a thoughtful person who knows

exactly how to turn someone's day

from dreadful to wonderful.

Friends stick to you like honey

because there's no one else quite like you, Winnie-the-Pooh!

Oh, I'm delighted I got Winnie, 'cause he's my man.

I think they got it absolutely right.

(laughs)

I would hope so.

(light music)

(creaking)

How to Do an About Me Video & Why You Might Want One | Video Making Tips - Duration: 5:03.

- Listen I love the idea of people coming

to your About Me page and getting to know I can trust you.

Because, you know, that's what video is for.

Today I wanna talk to you about the About Me video.

(soft ambient music)

Hey welcome back, it's Tracy with Videoscriptsuccess.com

where I help you take your scattered

but brilliant ideas and turn them

into marketing videos that convert.

Listen, I want you to hit that subscribe button and

that notification bell so that you get all of my tools,

tips and tricks for making great online video.

Today, I wanna talk to you about the About Me video.

However, I feel like the About Me page

is a nice to have video.

Whereas your homepage or what I call the magnet video

is a must have video.

Most people will not be entering your site

through your About Me video.

They're going to be coming in through your homepage video.

So I would rather have you put your efforts

towards that video.

But if you absolutely have your heart set

on an About Me video, I applaud you.

Good, let's get started and talk about that.

But there is one thing you need to know.

This is a write downable.

And that, your About Me video

and your About Me page for that matter,

is not

about

you.

I'm gonna say that again.

Your About Me video

is not

about you.

I know, you're thinking, what, what,

what did she just say?

Did she just say that the About Me video

is not really about me?

And I did.

I realize it's called the About Me page

and the About Me video.

But I wish it were more accurately described as

the you need to work with me because page.

But that's a mouthful.

So we can't call it that.

So let's dive into what your About Me page

is actually about.

Okay, so your About Me video is really about

helping your audience, right?

So you want people to land there and feel like they belong.

You want them to feel like you get them,

that they have finally found the solution

that they've been searching for.

You want your audience to know that you can relate

to whatever it is they're searching for.

And that you are the most confident, competent and

above all, the right person for the job.

So here's what your About Me video is not.

It is not a spoken resume or a biography.

And this is what I see so many people get wrong.

Now that doesn't mean that you can't share

some of your geekiness or quirkiness.

I'm not saying that.

But if you think about your homepage video

as the yay you've found the right place?

Your About Me video is

the yay and I'm the right person to help you.

Now I always want you to be thinking

how does my About Me story

fit with my offer.

Right?

So, in my case, I would tell the story

about how I have been in production for a really long time

and I kept seeing people struggle with videos and

I realized, oh my gosh, I can help.

I have all of this background and I can help them

in a non-threatening, non-techy way.

Listen, your story shouldn't start back in 19 diggity two.

It should start with the problem and then

you work your way up to the solution

which is of course, working with you,

buying your product, buying your program.

And please when you do get to the end,

don't leave your audience hanging, right?

Give them somewhere to go, give them something to do.

Here we go again, talking about the CTA, or call to action.

Do not miss this opportunity to keep your audience engaged.

Send them to a helpful blog.

Send them to a YouTube video.

Give them a download, a freebie,

but don't leave them hanging.

And now you might be thinking,

well, how long is my About Me video supposed to be?

And I would say, anywhere from 60 seconds to three minutes.

Be kind, keep them engaged.

But do not drone on and on and on.

I'm sorry friends, you're not that interesting.

Now if you're unsure of what your audience wants,

when we're done here, and we are almost done,

I want you to pop on over and check out my video

on the customer journey cuz that will help you craft

your About Me video in a way that will make your audience

know, love and trust you.

And as always, if you've found this video helpful,

and I hope you have, I want you to hit the subscribe button

up to you how you cut them I will show you the two ways that I'm cutting mine

while we are cutting we can talk a little bit about the cucumbers or a good

cooling in Swedish this kind is a kind that is made for canning and they are

called Westeros Gurkha in Swedish some of these have been getting a little bit

large but that's because we have been on the homestead in the woods for about a

week do you can vegetables or something else please tell me in the comments this

is a collaboration warning if you have made a canning video you can leave a

link to that video in the comments if you make a link in a comment on your own

video to mine and pin it so let's collaborate and reach more viewers we

had a terrible year for these cucumbers this is almost the entire harvest the

heat that we had have been too much for the plants

you

next thing we do is that we cover them with water

then we transfer the cucumber's to another bowl we measure how much water

we have so we can determine how much salt we need there is probably 100

better ways of measuring the water but this is how I did it this time just so

you know the whole recipe is down in the description we add the salt to the water

and stir until the salt has melted

then we pour the salt water over the cucumbers and leave them in room

temperature for about five hours after five hours we pour out the salt water

and rinse off the cucumbers

then we put them into yours and add some mustard seeds

we mix vinegar sugar salt and water I got it all down in the description so

you can make the right amount for your cucumbers

let me put it to a boil on the stove until the sugar melts

while it's still warm we pour it into the yours to cover the cucumber's

leaving a little bit of space in the top

we close the lid and store them in a dork : Virant for at least one week then

they are ready to be eaten

Reduce stress NOW! Secret tip from a psychologist - Duration: 4:32.

What's the one thing I can do right now to stop stressing out? Keep watching this

video to find out. Whether you're ready to go on vacation, whether you're about

to take a new job, start some exams, whether the kids are driving you crazy.

Whatever situation you're in you're feeling so stressed you don't know which

way to turn. First of all take a slow breath because

I've got a solution to put you back in control again. Hello my name is Clare

and welcome to Generation Calm where you can learn to reduce your stress and

anxiety naturally in your own time so that your mind and body feel great. When

you first go and see a psychologist or a therapist the first thing they'll do

when you walk in the door is ask a very generic question such as brought you

here today. And of course as we all know that one very simple question can bring

us back many decades and peel back many layers and the (question the) answer to

that question could be very long. And what you'll notice is that the

psychologist will be sitting there writing down notes. In fact they're

scribbling so much there's probably smoke coming up from

their pen or pencil. And what they're doing is they're taking your words and

they're writing things down but specific things. Things that are ... they're

trying to make themes, they're trying to make sense of what you're saying. They're

trying to make connections, notice anomalies. You've taken a jumble of

things that are going on in your head put words to it...

they've then taken those words and made sense of it on paper and started to find

themes, relationships, connections and make sense of it all.

Well why are you telling me this Clare? Well because you can do the same thing.

If you get a pen and paper out now and do a brain dump of everything that is

stressing you out, all these little things that you need to get done and

put it on paper. You can do it like a brainstorm.

Have the word 'stressed out' in the middle or whatever it is you want to say and

then big stalks coming off the sides with things that you need to be doing or

things that are just going round in your head. And ask yourself 'what has brought

me to this point today?' and just start writing it out now. Like I said it could

be in the form of a brainstorm but it could also be in a form as well 'he said,

she said' you know in a like journal form. It doesn't matter what you do because

the most miraculous thing will happen! Patterns will start to emerge. You'll see

steps that you can take you'll see solutions, you'll see relationships that

suddenly make sense to you. And you'll start to see it as a whole but that can

be broken down into little bite-sized chunks that are achievable. So what was

once the tangled mess is now more of this layer cake that it's kind of

stepwise. That makes much more sense to your brain and doesn't feel stressed

anymore. Think of it like this. When you're

feeling stressed and you really want to call a friend what is it you want them

to do? Yes listen! That's the best thing a friend can do when someone is stressed.

They listen and what you're doing by writing stuff on paper is listening to

yourself. You're listening to your heart, you're listening to what you're really

saying. And what happens when we're stressed it's normally because we

haven't been listening to ourselves. So do yourself a favor get yourself a pen

and paper and start writing things down and you'll be amazed at how the stress

levels will come down. But before you get a pen and paper please take a moment to

like this video and then share it out with somebody who you think needs this

stress relief video. So thanks for watching and I'll see you again soon, bye!
