Waching daily Aug 3 2018

hey guys it's Cassie welcome to my channel if you're new welcome back to my channel if

you're a member of the 2102 crew and you know that things are going to get

interesting today so the cycle short has arguably been the

fashion item of this spring summer Kim Kim really paved the way for us everyone

is wearing the cycle short however I feel like not everybody knows how the

cycle short should be worn yes if you decided that this is the decision you

want to make I am here to help okay basically I feel like there are rules

that need to be followed ooh I'm gonna go through those rules today to make

sure that if you slay the cycle short that you slay it well okay that you

leave the bitches clambering for that life behind you just go I wish I

was just just a smidgen of stylish as they are blah blah okay this is well

this is this is fashion this is what we want is the root of it is to make other

people feel bad the root of fashion the cause of fashion is to feel amazing and

also leave other bitches just a little bit jealous because you look that good

okay that's not why this is what we're all here for okay so we're gonna move

through it I'm in a different setup because I'm gonna be showing you some

looks firstly I'm gonna go through if you're gonna get cycle shorts what kind

of cycle shots to get and then I'm going to go in through through into how to

style the cycle short let's begin sir I personally I didn't want to spend much money on

my cycle shorts so I went to two places I says it all for this brand I went to

pretty little thing and they also went to fashion nova now I'm gonna try these

on for you because I want you to see the difference as to how awful my body looks

in the first pair and how pretty decent my body looks in a second alright so

this is the first pretty little thing okay this is the one that's like here's

my issue right I know that this is see-through I'm not sure if you can see

it in the light of day can you see you can see skin am i right you can see skin

right here's my issue I don't want to be worried about that also it's not holding

anything in we want to dress to flatter ourselves okay we want to feel good I

don't want to be worrying about the fact that this is sudden to loose and like

thin and everything else right it just I just feel I feel frumpy but yeah these

are not look the crutch is baggy and everything else the other thing that you

don't want actually what do you want with biker shorts, you don't want them too tight

then you've got the crotch gathering in the camel tois and this is

basically where I don't like them their thing they like baggy they're not

helping me we need you know we need a cinch

that's what we want, now with these not only do we have a nice sheen which I

really think gives a little bit of dimension to of it especially if you're

wearing like a super simple top or something you're just a little bit of

Sheen let's bring the party bringing the party people okay

the other thing is these are actually a little bit tighter okay

they're holding things in again we've got a good length I just feel like these

are so much more comfy I feel like they're a great look just don't spend

six pounds on it my bike shorts and hope that they're gonna just because they're

not gonna and they're only from fashion nova they're only $20 that's a

cheap and also fashion nova it's always 30 percent off literally if you google a

code for fashion nova you can find it 30 percent off code so it's even

cheaper than $20 plus if you're in the UK the shipping is pretty fast and also

you don't get charged customs which I love but anyway okay so once we've found

a pair of biker shorts that we like here is how we're going to style the bitch

the first one we have is the way everybody's doing it okay you've got the

oversized t-shirt you've got the biker shorts you just take your bag and go

we're going shopping we're having a chill day we're relaxing

we're enjoying the Sun pair it with low top shoes okay I say this because the

majority of us are not 5"9 okay we're not blessed with this level

of height okay I personally don't really know how tall I am I'm anywhere between

five foot three to five five to be honest an idea but I know I'm not the

tallest gal around okay high tops you're already cutting

your leg off here you don't want to be cutting it there as well you're gonna

look stumpy you're gonna look short which is why we go for the low top shoes okay if we

go for a white pair throw on

a pair of sunglasses let's get a pair of sunglasses too

oh I know just the pair see my sunglasses could actually got a whole

video I'm gonna link above look at her she's blocking out the haters she's

looking cute she's looking hype beast-y okay she's going shopping I don't need any of

your business okay I don't want any of your business and I'm here I'm wearing

my biker shots and looking cute agreed agreed

then guess what right it just got a little bit chilly but we still want to

stunt still want to look like a hype beast we still want to look good and I'm doing

our biker shorts right a little bit chilly but it's not it's not cold enough

to stop exposing the legs right still got that low top

moment but we're going with a long sleeve going with the extra large long

sleeve we're looking cool we're looking fly who was stunt on these hoes you know

how it goes whoo I got the rhymes freestyle game is awful but anyway okay so

everything I'm gonna be wearing will be linked below this is the thing with the bike

shorts okay is if you do it well you just look casual you just look like fashion

it's nothing to you it runs in my blood I'm looking chic I'm

looking cool let's just top it off for the bag don't for brunch you just

wanna just wanna let them know what's up just don't let them know that how are ya

how's life been it's been pretty good to me to be honest loving live but

this next one we are bringing the fire okay so this one what would bike

shorts and also work with just like a pair of leggings to but we're going on

the bike short so I'm gonna show you how to this is like a casual fire look okay

because we're casual on the top and fire on the bottom a very casual looking

sweater on the top this one is just from american vintage I'm obsessed with it this is

where you see that little nice contrast in texture going on and then we hit it

with the fire over the knee boots do you see these a pair of statement over the

knee boots even if that simple in black you don't understand how chic this is

gonna look okay she's here she's hitting it with the fire yes please yes please

this last look is an absolute winner cycle shorts right you could even work

with a cute bralette underneath okay and then just tie a shirt

I've gone for like a denim fade shirt here but any shirt white shirt linen

shirt denim shirt even my boyfriend's plaid top I don't care it's gonna look

cute okay you tied in the front this way it's also gonna go over the band okay

because that band is just not attractive okay we don't need the band showing okay

so you're gonna tie it over the band and then hit it with the sandals yes okay

this are you seeing this this is a look ladies and gentlemen yes she's here

ready to slay okay this is a very very cute biker look it's bike short look

sorry so cute so trendy change all the different colors feels different shoes

this is your secret weapon there we go guys that was my how to style bike

shorts what biking shorts to wear if you have

will answer them all also if you like these videos please let me know any more

East County Eats Ep 59 - D Wings & Ribs in Santee - Duration: 2:42.

(upbeat music)

- Where can you get awesome

wings, ribs, wraps, pizzas, fries?

All that good stuff in Santee.

We're at D Wings & Ribs in Santee.

Let's check it out.

(upbeat music)

East County Eats is all about showing you

the coolest restaurants in and around East County.

I'm Kyle Whissel, with Whissel Realty,

and this is East County Eats.

Mario, how are you?

- I'm really good Kyle.

Good to have you here.

- Yeah, so tell us a little bit about the restaurant.

- Alright guys, so this restaurant

has been open for about six months,

and we're a group of friends that's been

in the restaurant business for about 10-15 years.

So we decided to open a wings and ribs restaurants

because we love wings and ribs.

- [Kyle] Who doesn't?

- Everybody in San Diego.

You know we have a lot of competition around town.

- Yeah.

- So what distinguish us from everyone else

is the way we prep our wings and our ribs.

The way we do our wings,

we oven bake them for 30 minutes,

we put a rub on them,

and then after that we finish them on the deep fry

to give them that crispy finish.

- I love it. Very cool.

Let's head back into the kitchen and check it out.

- Alright. Let's go.

(upbeat music)

At this moment we're at the kitchen.

We're gonna start making the fries.

We throw them on the fryer for about three minutes

until we get the golden crispy look.

Once they're ready, we'll bring them out.

We'll put them on the boxes.

We'll set them up, and then we get the pulled pork.

We throw it on top of the fries.

We put our sauces on it.

We put our chipotle dressing on it,

and then for the carnitas,

what we do,

instead of doing the barbecue we do

our famous cilantro dressing.

(upbeat music)

- Alright, so as always I'm eating the pork dishes.

Kyle doesn't eat pork.

So I get the honor of tasting this.

We have half is carnitas, half if pulled pork.

I'm really stoked to try this out.

I'm a big carne asada fry fan,

and this is the barbecue

kind of play on that.

(upbeat music)

The pork is really well done.

It's really juicy.

The fries are still crispy which is great.

Especially with all the sauce.

This is really good.

I'd definitely do it again.

We're here in Santee at D Wings & Ribs.

Check it out.

This is something I will definitely be ordering again.

Thanks so much for watching this weeks episode.

Eagle Claw Cufflinks with Onyx for Black Tie Tuxedo - Duration: 1:36.

These black and silver eagle claw cufflinks are made from 925 sterling silver and then

platinum plated.

It's basically as classic as it gets because you can wear that with a tuxedo, you can wear

that with a three-piece suit, and you can wear them for any other kind of formal event.

So what makes these cufflinks so special?

First of all, they are inspired by actual eagle claws and the designer Jean Schlumberger

which created nature inspired designs for tiffany and co; the problem was, these designs

usually cost thousands of dollars and we decided we wanted to make a pair cufflinks that was

stunning with a high amount of detail and craftsmanship for an affordable price.

Therefore, we carved it by hand and cast them in solid sterling silver, plated them with

platinum so they don't tarnish and overall, we wanted something that really sets themselves

apart by anything else you can find such as the t-bar cufflinks or double-sided cufflinks.

We used a quality onyx stone, round, sophisticated, has a beautiful mirror shine.

These cufflinks are not suited for informal outfits such as tweed, or flannel, or checks.

if you want to wear those things, I suggest you go with either our Lapis cufflinks, tiger's

eye cufflinks, or malachite cufflinks, or our carnelian.

These are for formal only and compliments will be guaranteed.

The Value of an Advanced RV - Duration: 6:23.

good morning Brittany good morning Mike we are Mike and Brittany from Advanced RV

in Cleveland Ohio and we're glad to join you this morning we wanted to do a

couple things one is to celebrate seven years in business actually we're

finishing our sixth year starting our seventh year and I get a lot of

questions about cost has your cost come down people always start with costs they

don't really start with value so the good news is our costs are actually

coming down because we've consolidated operations it gives our craftspeople an

easier access to each other for improving designs and for coordinating

work the other good news is that the value has increased because clients have

added more they've incorporated their innovative ideas for what suits them for

travel and so although the price stays the same and sometimes goes up it's

because clients are adding more value Brittany do you get the same questions

we do and also I think there's conceptions that luxury is about the

materials and the cost and what you put into it but a lot of these changes are

functional changes that have more to do with the design and behind the scenes

and things that you don't see that's right the quality the way that we

incorporate the cabinet's into the structure of the van those kinds of

things and we would love to do some things that are maybe more basic more

kind of outdoorsy rubber diamond pattern floors that you can essentially hose out

scrub out stainless sinks and countertops all kinds of possibilities

for rugged equipment type off-road vehicles and we are building a lot of

144 is now most of those are four by fours but anyway we're pleased that we

have been able to pioneer so many aspects of Class B motorhomes we expect

to be copied we're flattered by the copying and some of the things that we

brought to the United States and to the Class B motorhomes

first of all stealth one of our objectives in the beginning was to have

a van that looks like a work van with no cutouts on the sides for

refrigerators for propane for other things and we've accomplished that we

have absolutely no cut outs unless the client wants to cut out for their Shore

power on the side of the van we eliminated graphics right quick we don't

have any graphics most clients don't even want our name on it which is fine

Brittany what are some of the other ones with travel in general being able to

stay off-grid so removing propane as you travel and our philosophy to start was

to have an electric vehicle that would automatically recharge that would have

the integrated technology so that you didn't have to think about it

the lithium high-capacity batteries we've gone through a whole series of at

least four discreet total redesigns on the lithium system as as lithium battery

technology improved and as controls improved we've tested in the field our

test procedures for everything we do now are getting much more sophisticated

it's an all-weather battery system that has heat insulation it's structurally

mounts to the van and VB air suspension that was an exciting time I remember our

first trip testing that out in an empty chassis which was several years ago so

we put we put Britney in the back of a bare van and told her to sit on the

wheel well and we went over railroad tracks fast and slow drove over curbs

did everything we could that to jar the suspension and it was night and day and

it still is so VB air suspensions been great auto-leveling which I thought was

for wimps and until I had it on one of my motorhomes our demo Escape it is so

cool to be able to stop anywhere you want press a button and have within

about two and a half minutes have that automatically sense the level and bring

the bring the level up and create what's almost like a solid foundation under it

so it's very stable it's not just about the leveling it it makes it rock solid

I never noticed the sway before I thought it was solid before until so and

some of the other things huge tanks I don't think anybody has figured out how

to put as much liquid storage as as we have in our class B's even yet we've

been doing it for six years no propane as you mentioned now many of these

things you can find in other motorhomes now so again we're flattered but it's

it's a good incentive for us to keep innovating we have to listen to clients

and we're in a great position to do that because there's nobody between us and

the client and we invite the client in as part of the design process continues

to be a blast it takes an investment buy from us and

the client Brittany you're on the front end of that process aren't you I am and thank

you to everyone that makes the trip here and once you get here to realize once

you see things in person the design the concepts the ideas start to flow and

it's exciting to work as a team so our costs are going down the prices are

staying the same or going up the value is increasing all the time and we thank

you both our craftspeople Brittany and our clients and Frank who does all of

our service communication and scheduling everybody here and an inside and outside

who's part of our community supports the innovation the new ideas pushes us to be

better every day so that keeps us out front and thanks for your part in that

Brittany thank you we're all excited to be part of this team so have a good day

and thanks for listening take care

Using Would Have, Could Have, Should Have - English Grammar Lesson - Duration: 14:06.

Oh…

Hello!

Ah…

I should have prepared for this lesson, I guess.

Now I don't know what to say.

Whoops!

Martin!

You could have at least warned me.

Now what are we going to do?

I would have done it, but I was just so busy…

I could have done it if you'd told me.

Don't you have some notes, or something we can use?

I had some notes, but I can't find them.

Well, think about it: where could they be?

Not sure…

I could have left them on the bus.

I should never have agreed to do this video…

Hi, I'm Martin.

Welcome to Oxford Online English!

In this lesson, you can learn how to use would have, should have and could have.

These verbs—would, should, could, etc.—are modal verbs, so they don't have past forms

like normal verbs do.

Instead, you can talk about the past by adding have plus a past participle after the verb.

In this lesson, you'll learn how to use those modal verbs to talk about the past in

English, what they mean, and how they're different.

Sometimes, you have moments when your life could go in very different ways.

For example, maybe you take an important exam, and your result decides where you can go to

university.

Maybe you're thinking about moving to another country.

Do you stay where you are, or do you leave?

Perhaps you're in a relationship and things aren't going so well.

Do you stay and try to make it work, or do you move on?

Life is full of these important moments and decisions.

Try to think of something like this from your past.

Now, ask yourself: you made the choices you made.

You passed the exam, or you failed it; you moved to another country, or you didn't.

That's reality, but what if things had gone the other way?

This is the imaginary past.

You're imagining a different version of the past.

You're asking yourself questions like:

What if I had worked a bit harder, and passed that exam?

What if I had taken that job, and moved to Italy?

What if I had told her how I feel?

This is where you use would have.

Use would have to talk about the imaginary past.

For example:

If I had got better exam results, I would have got into Harvard.

I wouldn't have met my wife if I had moved to Italy seven years ago.

If I hadn't forgotten my pen that day, I wouldn't have asked to borrow yours, and

we wouldn't have become friends!

Think about your important moment from the past, when your life could have gone in two

very different directions: what would have happened if things had gone the other way?

So, you can use would have to talk about the imaginary past.

What about our other verbs?

Where do you suppose they are?

I don't know.

They're usually so reliable.

I guess they could have mixed up the date?

Shall we try calling them again?

We can't wait forever.

When will it be ready?

I think next Thursday.

You said you'd have it finished by the end of this week!

Now what am I going to do?

Sorry.

You could have told me sooner that you weren't going to finish on time.

Doctor, is it serious?

No, it's just a scratch, but be more careful next time.

You could have really hurt yourself!

You can also use could have to talk about the imaginary past:

If I'd had more time, I could have finished everything.

He could have won it if he hadn't slipped at the start.

When you use could have to talk about the imaginary past, you're talking about possibilities.

You're talking about opportunities and chances which you didn't have in reality,

but in your imaginary version of the past, you would have had these chances.

However, could have can also have different meanings. Let's look:

Here, you saw three more ways to use could have.

Remember that you can go back and review the dialogues if you need to.

Can you explain how could have is used in each of these dialogues?

Could have can mean that you aren't sure about something in the past.

You're talking about a possibility:

They could have mixed up the date.

I've lost my keys.

I could have left them at work.

Where are they?

I guess they could have missed the train.

In these examples, you aren't sure about something that happened in the past.

You use could have to make a guess about what happened.

You can also use could have to criticise someone:

You could have told me sooner.

You could have tidied up a bit.

You could have worn something a bit nicer.

In these examples, you want to criticise the other person for something they didn't do.

Finally, you can use could have to mean that somebody was lucky to avoid a bad situation

in the past:

It's just a scratch, but you could have really hurt yourself.

We were really late, and we could have missed our plane, but luckily we just made it.

Let's review quickly.

Could have has four different meanings.

Can you remember them?

You can use could have to talk about the imaginary past,

to guess about something in the past which you aren't sure about,

to criticise someone for something they didn't do,

and to say that someone was lucky to avoid a bad situation.

Next, what about should have?

You just saw that could have can be used to criticise someone.

Should have is similar, but you can use it in a wider variety of ways.

Like could have, you can use it to criticise something that someone didn't do in the

past:

You should have called me like you promised.

He should have checked the recipe before he started cooking.

They should have practiced penalties before the match.

You can also use it to criticise something that someone did:

You shouldn't have drunk so much at the wedding!

She shouldn't have left everything to the last minute.

You can even use it to criticise yourself, if you regret something which you did in the

past:

I should have realised what was going on.

I shouldn't have said that.

You can also use should have to apologise to someone.

If you say I shouldn't have said that, you're admitting that you made the wrong choice,

and that you regret it.

This is the most common use of should have: criticising others or yourself, and talking

about things you regret in the past.

However, it has one more meaning.

Look at three examples.

Can you work out what should have means here?

Here, you use should have to talk about something which you expected to happen, but it didn't

happen.

They should have been here by now means that you expected them to have arrived before now,

but you're still waiting.

It should have been ready an hour ago means that you expected everything to be ready earlier.

Maybe you're cooking something, and it's taking much longer than you thought it would.

The plane should have landed at seven thirty means that you expected the plane to land

then, but it didn't.

Probably, you mean that the plane is late, and you're still waiting for it.

Now, you should have learned two different ways to use should have.

Let's practice using would have, could have and should have together.

You should have told me your friends were coming!

I would have made some extra food.

Sorry!

I would have called you, but I had no phone credit.

I should have topped up before we went out.

What are we going to eat?

We don't have much in the fridge.

I should have stopped and got a takeaway on the way.

Not to worry: we'll order something.

Where's the food?

I'm so hungry!

They should have come by now, right?

They're probably just busy.

They could have forgotten.

They would have called if there was a problem, don't you think?

Relax!

You should have had a snack when you got in.

It'll be here soon.

That was delicious!

I've never had such a good meal.

You could have left some for me.

What am I supposed to eat?

Oh…

I'm sorry!

I would have left some if I'd known you wanted some.

I should have asked.

Yeah, you should have.

Oh well, there's half a cucumber in the fridge, I think.

Look at three sentences from the dialogues.

Can you explain what they mean?

The first sentence is talking about the imaginary past.

It means that if I had known you were bringing guests, I would have made some more food.

But, in reality, I didn't know, so I didn't make enough food.

The second sentence is talking about something you aren't sure about in the past.

Do you remember the situation?

We were waiting for our takeaway to arrive.

It was late, and we didn't know what happened.

You use could have here to make a guess about something in the past when you don't know

what happened.

The third sentence is a criticism, or an expression of regret.

If you say this, you mean that you made a mistake in the past.

Think back to the dialogues.

Did we use should have or could have in any other ways?

Look at two more sentences:

They should have come by now.

You could have left some for me.

What do should have and could have mean here?

Here, should have means that something didn't happen the way you expected.

You expected the food to be here by now, but it isn't.

Could have is used to criticise something which someone else didn't do.

Now, hopefully you understand how to use would have, could have and should have.

Understanding Message In A Bottle - Duration: 6:32.

hey, welcome to 12tone! despite plenty of inner turmoil, it's hard to deny the success

of The Police: starting with their second album, Regatta De Blanc, they managed an incredibly

impressive streak of five consecutive #1 albums on the UK charts, with many of their hits

crossing the pond to the US as well.

they've also had a lot of #1 singles, including Walking On The Moon, Every Breath You Take,

and Don't Stand So Close To Me, and looking through the list I'm noticing a weirdly strong

connection between how well the song did and how long its name was, but setting that aside,

today I want to look at their very first #1 hit, Message In A Bottle.

it starts like this: (bang) and the first thing I want to highlight is the chord shapes,

because they're a little unusual.

if they were normal triads, it'd sound something like this (bang) with a root, a fifth, and

then a really high third, but instead they've taken these top notes and lowered them all,

hiding the chords' qualities and giving the whole thing a bit of an unsettled sound.

it's a great use of a technique called quintal harmony, where chords are built from stacks

of 5ths instead of the usual stacks of 3rds. still, though, they behave pretty much like

normal chords here, so for the rest of the video I'm just gonna pretend the progression

is this: (bang)

this confused me for a while, because when I listen to the song, none of these sound

like the I chord, and I think that's because none of them are.

here, check out the second phrase of the melody: (bang) do you hear how that D# at the end

is pulling up with all of its might?

that's because it's what's called a leading tone, and it wants to resolve to the root

of the key, E. the rest of the melody reinforces that: it's basically just walking back and

forth between the root and the 3rd, two of the strongest notes in that key.

so then what's going on with the chords?

well, I think it's a variation of this classic progression, (bang) often called the Doo-Wop

Changes. this is, like, the definitive example of functional harmony, which as we've mentioned

before is the idea that different chords in a key have different functions, or jobs to

do.

these first two chords have tonic function, which means they provide a sense of rest.

they're like home base.

then we go to this chord, which has subdominant function, meaning it adds some instability

and takes you away from home, then this chord has dominant function, which means it points

you back.

this predictable cycle of tension and release has been used for centuries, but it was especially

common in the pop music of the 50s and 60s.

the Police do it a little differently, though: they start here (bang) and when we're on the

dominant chord, expecting a resolution back to I, they go to F# minor instead, which has

subdominant function again.

this subverts your expectation, adding dissonance when you were expecting a chance to rest,

and then it jumps to the C# minor and starts over without ever actually playing the E.

I think there's something really poignant about the fact that, in this song about a

castaway, even the chords can't seem to find their way home.

from there, we move into the first half of the prechorus: (bang) and it seems like we've

changed keys.

we're in A major now, and the progression couldn't be simpler: we've got tonic, subdominant,

and dominant, all in order.

we've even got a I chord this time, but there's still something sneaky going on here: we've

also got an E chord. it's the home chord we were looking for earlier, and it even shows

up right as the vocals sing "to the world", but it's not actually the I chord anymore.

it's kinda like a mirage: it's the home we were trying to find, but when we get there,

it's not really home at all.

we've also switched from the complex sound of quintal harmony to just straight-up power

chords, which are chords with just two notes: a root and a 5th. ok, I guess technically

that's still quintal, but it's also a very common rock sound, as basically the simplest

form of harmony.

what exactly it symbolizes here is up for debate, but I like to look at it as representing

the more optimistic, idealistic message of this part of the song.

it's a single-minded determination to reach out and send that SOS, and the harmony simplifies

itself to match.

next we get this (bang) and the melody's sitting on A the whole time so it's safe to say we're

still in that key, but again, we've lost the I chord.

instead we have the VImi and the IV, which is like the beginning of the verse progression,

but in the prechorus's key.

this is the "I hope that someone gets my" bit, and moving away from the root again helps

emphasize that desperation: even the fake home we constructed in the first half of the

prechorus is fading away.

finally, we get to the chorus (bang) which is a bit ambiguous.

we could probably still analyze this in the key of A, but when I listen to the song, the

note in the melody that feels most like the root is this E here, so I think we've switched

back to the verse key. in fact, these are the first two chords of the verse progression,

just sustained for longer and decorated a bit differently.

this A chord is especially interesting: it incorporates an F#, making it what's called

a major 6 chord, a fairly common substitute for a standard major triad in jazz.

it just adds a little extra color, but again, I think this song uses chord complexity to

represent despair, so seeing such a rich sound doesn't bode well for the fate of that bottle.

the bass also does something interesting: it starts on A to match the chord, then halfway

through the bar it walks down to G#. this kind of implies a weak resolution back to

the I chord (bang) and the melody follows along, but the guitar doesn't.

technically it's still sustaining that A chord from before, but that's quieted down enough

that I wouldn't necessarily analyze the two together, so I think this is best viewed as

sort of a ghost chord: there's kind of an E major here, but also kind of not.

draw whatever metaphor you want from that.

anyway, at the end of the chorus we get this (bang) where that G# walks down to an F#,

and this chord should be familiar as the final chord of the verse progression which, again,

interrupts our journey back to the I chord.

it hangs on that for a bit to get us good and lost again, then we go back into the verse.

but before we wrap up, there's one last thing I want to address: melodic range.

in most songs, the vocalist sings the verses fairly low, then they jump up high for the

chorus, but here it's backwards.

the verses are high, bombastic affairs, while the choruses settle down into the lower part

of Sting's range.

and the dynamics of the whole piece follow suit: The verses have this driving, syncopated

rhythm, while in the choruses the main guitar part is just playing whole notes.

so why?

well, again, there's a couple metaphors we could draw, but my favorite is that the verses

take place on the island, where the narrator's actively doing stuff, but the choruses take

place on the open ocean, and there's nothing to do there but wait for that bottle to be

found.

there's a certain helplessness to that, and dropping the intensity of the vocals captures

that feeling pretty well.

and that's pretty much it.

we run through those sections a couple times, then end by looping the verse progression

until it fades out without ever making it home.

it's a fascinating piece of harmonic storytelling, using fairly limited tools to sculpt a narrative

you can easily follow without even listening to the words.

in the end, it's just trying to get home, and who can't relate to that?

anyway, thanks for watching, and thanks to Patreon patron Hector Bonte for suggesting

6 Facts About BMW M4 GTS You Need To Know - Is it the best BMW ever? - Duration: 5:38.

Welcome back everybody. Today I'm going to share with you the top six things you

need to know about the BMW M4 GTS. I bet you didn't know some of these and I'm

going to share that with you today. The first thing that you need to know are

the LED taillights, not only the LED ,but they're actually configurable and

they're unique for the BMW M4 GTS. They're not the same ones found on a

standard M4 and the beautiful thing here is when you switch it to normal mode,

it's a broader and L type spectrum on the taillights. When you switch the car

to sport mode it's a much more focused, stronger, intense light. So it's actually

configurable, depending on the drive mode that you engage. This is the second

thing I bet you didn't know. That's the fact that the M4 GTS also has a water

injection system. Why? Because the standard car puts out about 17.2 PSI of

boost while the GTS actually puts out 21.5 PSI. This creates a lot of

heat in the intake, and therefore the system uses a light spray mist of water.

It's pumped into the intake plenum under boost conditions, which coincidentally is

fed from a system located under the trunk mat in the back of the car. Oh, and

also what you need to know about that, is it will run in temperatures as low as 41

degrees Fahrenheit, if for some reason you're in colder temperatures. Or the

fact that you don't have water available, you run out of water for example, the car

will revert back to competition spec, which will then produce the 444

horsepower versus the full GTS spec of 495 horsepower. Did you know also, the

third thing is that the M4 GTS comes equipped with a fully manually,

adjustable ride height on the suspension? Both front and back, it allows you to adjust

the dampening settings, front and back as well. The car includes a tool, now it's a techie

piece, a lot of people like that kind of stuff. The guys that love wrenching on

their cars pull a car into the pits, basically jack it up, pull the wheels,

make that adjustment. It's very techie and geeky for those guys that love that,

but it's a very very cool function. Normally you wouldn't ride around on

race height, but if you to do that, there's a tool included

in the toolkit, and if you're wondering why there's an extra space available in

the toolkit, that's because it allows you to place and store the screws and the

bolts that come out of the suspension after you make certain adjustments. The

fourth thing that actually comes unique for the BMW M4 GTS, also not found on any

factory BMWs, or M4s, or any of that for that matter, is it has a three position,

fully adjustable, rear carbon fiber wing. Now what is interesting about that, is

also the fact that it has side plates, of course, as shown in the photos. But

those side plates are actually installed upside down in the US versions, because

of the third brake light, and that causes you know, a lack of visibility, and

therefore BMW opted to actually install them upside down in the US market.

Otherwise it's a completely similar piece of hardware and when you adjust

the wing to the most aggressive, fully steeped setting, it actually produces

over two hundred and ten pounds of downforce at a hundred and eighty-three

miles per hour. It gives you a lot more bite, a lot more

grip in the corners. The next item you may or may not know, in some cases, if

you've seen the car, you'll know it's very visible, and that is the roll cage

in the back of the car. That roll cage is a very convoluted complex set of tubes

nicely wrapped along the top edge, just for cosmetics, but it is there mainly

because this car is fully intended to be a track car. That roll cage there

facilitates basically getting the car set up and operating on the truck. You're

going to have to give up some friends. Likely you're only going to have one friend

in this situation, and you know what, definitely I would say you're going to have

to leave the wife and the kids at home if you're taking this car for a drive.

Now the next thing that I have to mention, this is the sixth and certainly

not the least thing that you need to know about the BMW M4 GTS, is the fact that

this car is in very, very, low production numbers. When I say low, originally BMW

slated only 700 models to be built. 300 were going to the USA, 80 were going to

Germany, 50 were allotted for Canada, 15 in China, and 30 were going to the UK.

Now after that whole production run, BMW felt the need to actually add a few more.

There was actually a few more added to the production run before they cancelled

the entire run, thus resulting in a total production count of about 803.

Either way, 700 or 803, at the end of the day, that makes this car a very, very low

production number car, and almost guarantees resale and collector car

status in a few years from now. As a matter of fact, right now if you really

want one of these cars they're very, very difficult to find,

and as a result sometimes if you really want the car, and you need to have it, you

almost have to buy what you can find in the moment. So everybody I really hope

you enjoyed the video, make sure you give me a thumbs up, don't forget a comment,

and please subscribe to the channel. I'd love you guys to come back, check out a

lot more of my videos. I have lots to offer, BMW and so on. So far there's some

pretty exciting news coming up very soon too by the way, but definitely come back

for the next one and we'll talk to you soon. Bye bye.

15 Signs To Identify Highly Intelligent Person, Backed By Science - Duration: 7:37.

15 Signs To Identify Highly Intelligent Person, Backed By Science

Russell hit the right chord when he talked about the paradox of wise men and fools.

Although it is not a mighty task to sift the wise men from the crowd, science says that

there are ways of telling intelligent people from the non-so-intelligent ones.

Researches and surveys across the world have pointed towards a few traits that will help

you figure out if your fellow men (including you) exercise your grey cells in a special

way.

In this video, I'm going to show you 15 signs to identify highly intelligent person according

to science.

But before we start, make sure to like this video and subscribe our channel so you won't

miss any interesting updates in the future guys!

Also, don't forget to check link on the description below to see our interesting offer that might

be useful for you.

So, let's learn from these 15 signs to identify highly intelligent person that has been proven

by science.

1.

Intelligent People Spend Considerable Time Educating Themselves in Various Topics

Being intelligent is high maintenance.

Among other factors it is also something that is acquired and involves hard work.

In other words, apparently smartness and intelligence is earned.

A person can be well versed on a topic but that does not necessarily make him intelligent.

An intelligent person is able to talk about just about anything because he reads and learns

about everything under the sun.

2.

Intelligent People Are More Internet Savvy

An online survey showed that more than three-quarters of people who undertook the survey believe

that the Internet makes people smart.

This idea stems from the fact that Internet dispenses knowledge impartially and has also

improved reading and writing.

But a lot of the respondents also believe that it hinders the same by preventing deep

thinking.

3.

They Tend to Stay Up Till Late At Night

This has more to do with evolution.

"Sleep researchers tend to divide people into two groups, based on whether they exhibit

'morningness' or 'eveningness.'

A recent study claims that eveningness is an evolutionary advancement that marks out

'more intelligent individuals,' while those with lower IQs tend to restrict their activities

primarily to daytime", explains zoologist Robert Alison in the Winnipeg Free Press.

4.

Intelligent People Use Fewer Electronics, which Otherwise Cause Information Overload

or Infomania

As a study commissioned by Hewlett Packard says, infomania is turning out to be a grave

problem for adult workers.

It is a form of distraction caused by the constant urge to check mails or text messages

and in return makes a person neglect almost everything from family to duties.

5.

Kids Who Take Music Lessons Are More Likely To Be Intelligent Than Ones Who Do Not

As a report in PsychCentral suggests, "There is growing evidence that musicians have structurally

and functionally different brains compared with non-musicians.

In particular, the areas of the brain used to process music are larger or more active

in musicians.

Even just starting to learn a musical instrument can change the neurophysiology of the brain.

The brain regions involved in music processing are also required for other tasks, such as

memory or language skills."

6.

Chances od Intelligent People Using Recreational Drugs is Higher Than Their Lesser Intelligent

Counterparts

It is in the nature of intellectually sharper people to indulge in evolutionary novel behaviour.

Does that mean that it is healthy?

You can pick your side but it must be mentioned here that intelligent people do not necessarily

indulge in healthy habits.

As pointed out by Psychology Today, "more intelligent individuals are more likely to

consume all types of psychoactive drugs than less intelligent individuals."

7.

Intelligent People Are Adaptable and Open-minded

As mentioned in the Encyclopedia Britannica "For the most part, adaptation involves making

a change in oneself in order to cope more effectively with the environment, but it can

also mean changing the environment or finding an entirely new one."

Intelligent people are thus, quick to adapt.

8.

Intelligent People Are Also Known To Be Skeptics

Not only the will to adapt, but the resistance to just about anything and everything is one

trait of an intelligent mind.

Although both these traits might seem to be at loggerheads, smart people have the ability

to accommodate both the traits.

They only believe when presented with ample facts.

9.

Intelligent People Are Very Curious and Unafraid to Ask Questions

Even the most mundane thing seems fascinating to the intelligent mind.

The good news is curiosity is something that can be cultivated.

If one researches on everything new they see or read about, they will form the habit of

curiousness.

10.

Intelligent People Have an Uncanny Ability to Ask Thought-provoking Questions.

This one might be a simple one.

Intelligent people ask all the right questions.

It just goes to show how fast and well their brain processes and accepts information.

It also indicates that they have a working knowledge of a lot of things and are highly

observant.

11.

People Who Are Intelligent Tend To Learn From Their Mistakes

This is just a smart and effective way of coping with things.

Not for nothing have people stated over and over again that instead of letting your mistakes

get to you and make the voice in your head louder, it is fruitful and valuable to learn

from them and move on.

12.

Intelligent People Tend To Be More Resourceful

Intelligent people seem to have a working knowledge of just about everything.

Resourcefulness is also a sign of evolution.

Mankind has not reached so far without putting available resources to use.

13.

Intelligent People Are Quick to Accept Their Ignorance About a Topic or An Issue

This is to understand that not knowing something does not make one stupid.

Intelligent people see it as an opportunity to learn more about things that they may not

be familiar with.

14.

An Intelligent Person's Opinions Are Based on Facts and Not Beliefs

This has more to do with their skepticism.

Unless and until they are presented with hard facts, they do not take things on face value.

15.

Intelligent People are Quite Empathetic

Empathy is a core element of emotional intelligence.

Emotionally intelligent are not only interested in learning about experiences of others, they

also understand the need and feelings of others very intimately.

Well, that's the 15 signs to identify highly intelligent person.

Really cool information isn't it?
