Waching daily Aug 30 2018

What's up guys!

Carlo Macapinlac here from NewbieFitnessAcademy.com, your go-to fat loss coach for busy professionals

and in this video, I'm gonna answer a very controversial question that I get asked all

the time.

Is skipping breakfast good for losing weight?

Well, after struggling with my diet for years, this is what happened in about 8 weeks after

I started skipping breakfast.

If you stick around until the end of the video, I'm gonna give you the exact step-by-step

blueprint how I did it.

And before we get started, make sure you hit that subscribe button to get notified every

time I post a new video every week.

Let's dive in.

Alright.

One of the meals that is the most notorious as being branded as the most important meal

of the day is…you got it!

Breakfast.

I mean, there's no better way to start your day than eating breakfast.

Right?

Right??

Not so much.

You know, a lot people think they can just have a bagel, or a muffin, or a donut, or

eat a bowl of breakfast cereal because it's fast and it's easy.

And that's true.

They can just reach into the kitchen cabinet and just have a bowl of cereal with some skim

milk and they think they're eating healthy.

I mean, that's a pretty typical breakfast for a lot of people in North America.

Right?

That's probably what you ate this morning.

Hey, leave a comment below what you had for breakfast this morning.

I wanna know.

Now, It doesn't help that this is what gets branded as the right thing to do every day

and people just kinda go along with it.

And, so much of it has to do with the breakfast food industry and all these big food corporations

because they have to sell their cereal, or their granola bars so it's a lot easier

for them to say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

And I used to be so guilty of this.

The thought of skipping breakfast never crossed my mind.

I always made sure that I picked up a bagel, or a muffin, or if I was running short on

time, I would just shove as much cereal in my mouth even though I wasn't really hungry.

Cuz that's what we've always been taught, right?

Never start the day on an empty stomach.

It's bad for you.

And, there's nothing intrinsically wrong with eating breakfast, by the way.

Right?

I love breakfast food.

However, there's a huge difference when you eat it and an even bigger difference between

eating bacon and eggs versus a bowl of frosted flakes or a granola bar.

As soon as you eat it, your body responds completely different between the two.

One is made up mostly with saturated fat and protein while the other is mostly refined

carbs and sugar.

Right?

I mean, I don't think anybody in their right mind would think that the body responds to

them the same way.

You know, it just doesn't.

Let me explain in simple terms.

People say that a calorie is a calorie whether it's from fat, carbs, or protein, as if

your body responds to them equally, and that's got to be the dumbest idea ever.

You have these food corporations and even fitness experts that want you to think that

a 500 calorie bowl of frosted flakes, white bread, instant oatmeal, and other refined

carbs is the same as a 500 calorie breakfast of eggs, bacon and avocado.

NO.

Not even close.

And then people say that it's the vitamins.

It's fortified with vitamins and minerals so it's gotta be good for you, right?

It even has that fancy little check mark on the box as if that means that it's automatically

healthy.

Guess what?

It doesn't get a free pass.

Those two things are completely different.

Let's break things down a little further and this might be ground breaking information

for some people.

You see, all foods stimulate the hormone insulin in some way, shape, or form.

Insulin, if you've never heard of it before is a very important hormone in your body.

It's a storage hormone.

It's the hormone that tells people to gain weight.

People hardly ever talk about this because everyone just wants to focus on calories.

The less calories, the better.

Right?

But what you really have to worry about more than counting calories is developing something

called Insulin resistance.

Why is that?

Insulin resistance is one of the big things that controls the insulin response in your

body.

Basically, if you have something called insulin resistance, your body produces more insulin.

It's your body's natural mechanism to overcome this resistance that you've created.

It actually produces more insulin.

And that's bad news.

Why is this important you ask?

It's important, because high insulin is gonna cause you to gain weight.

Even if you think you're eating healthy.

And nobody ever talks about this.

What spikes insulin the most you ask?

Well, it's sugar and refined carbs.

I mention those two things specifically because a lot of the typical food that we eat for

breakfast has either, A) hidden sugars or B) is made out of refined carbs.

Now, the biggest determinant of insulin resistance is how often you eat and the types of foods

that you eat.

The way you reset this is to have periods of time where you allow insulin levels to

be low.

And the only natural way to do this is by simply taking a break from eating.

What?* This is also called time restricted eating or Intermittent Fasting.

The very word breakfast literally means break fast.

It's the meal that breaks your fast.

As you can see, you're already fasting every night.

It's called sleeping.

But it's not enough to lower your insulin levels to the point where you can access your

fat storage and get into weight loss.

It's just not.

Here's how I want you to think about the relationship between eating and fasting.

When you're eating, your insulin levels go up and you're storing energy.

You're in fat storage mode.

Now that's not necessarily a bad thing.

You need to have moments throughout the day where your body can absorb all the nutrients

from all the food that you just ate.

When you're fasting, again you automatically do this when you sleep, your insulin levels

go down and you're taking out that stored energy.

Is it enough to lose weight?

The short answer is no.

So if you keep eating breakfast.

If you keep eating first thing in the morning, then your insulin level goes up and you're

in fat storage mode, the moment you wake up.

Remember, your body can either burn fat or sugar for energy.

But it can't do both.

Now, If you start pushing it the other way by extending your fast and skipping breakfast

and even lunch, then you're gonna start getting into fat loss because you're allowing

your insulin levels to get low enough to the point where you start using body fat as a

source of energy.

And that's what we want.

You see, this is how your body naturally works.

It's what your body is designed to do during periods where food is absent from your stomach.

It starts burning fat.

So is skipping breakfast good for losing weight?

100 percent.

You just have to remember that if you wanna lose weight, it's all about managing your

insulin levels and not necessarily about the calories.

You gotta remember that fasting is about the time that you're not eating.

You're simply taking a break from it to let your body use your own body fat as a source

of energy, by lowering your insulin levels.

It's not a period of starvation and that is such an important concept to wrap your

head around.

Eating 6 small meals a day according to the "experts" is simply not what your body

wants to do because every time you eat, again, your insulin goes up.

So if you eat your 6 small meals a day, you keep telling your body, keep storing fat.

You don't need to burn it.

Look at all this food that's coming in that we can use for energy instead.

You eat, you store fat.

It's as simple as that.

Here's another thought for you.

One of the simplest ways to lose weight for example is to just not eat when you're not

hungry.

You're better off skipping breakfast until you're actually hungry.

I mentioned this earlier how I would just shove food into my mouth even though I had

no appetite in the morning.

It's funny because kids, of all people understand this perfectly.

Notice how kids sometimes aren't hungry when it's breakfast time or dinner time

and they simply won't eat.

But as adults, whether we're hungry or not, we eat at 7am, it's like clock work.

I really hope you're starting to see the big picture now when it comes to eating first

thing in the morning.

Again, It's just been institutionalized that breakfast is the most important meal

of the day and you gotta start the day with a good breakfast so you'll have lots of

energy.

That's what we've been told but the truth is, your body already does that for you.

If you look at what your body does before you wake up, your body actually has a surge

of hormones which pushes glucose out of your system which you can use for energy.

Your body supplies your with energy.

Your body also produces growth hormones and adrenalin to get you primed for the day.

Your body is super smart about making sure that you're good to go from the moment you

wake up.

And this makes sense because back in the paleolithic age, food wasn't always available.

Do you think our ancestors woke up and said, geez better make sure I eat breakfast before

I go hunting for food.

No.

There was no breakfast available.

They simply went out hunting.

So if you're ever worried that your metabolism will somehow slow down if you skip breakfast.

It won't.

Your body is a lot smarter than you think.

Long story short, there's nothing wrong with eating breakfast.

I mean, I love breakfast food.

I really do.

You just don't always need to be married to the idea that you have to eat first thing

in the morning.

Once you start skipping breakfast, you're gonna quickly realize how much more time you'll

have to do more productive things.

The best tip that I can offer once you actually decide to start skipping breakfast is you

gotta stay busy.

You gotta stay productive.

If you don't, you're gonna think that there's something missing from your morning

routine, then you start obsessing over it, next thing you know, you're on your way

to the closest drive thru to get yourself a bagel.

Alright?

So pro tip for you guys, you gotta stay busy.

Next thing you know, it'll already be lunch time and you can finally have your quote unquote

breakfast.

I'm gonna kill you! Open this door! Open it!

Help!

Open the window here, quick!

What?!

I'm Scary Hook!

Holy fuck! How do you open this door? It's fucking stuck!

Wait, lady! I'm here to help!

Oh good, but there's a madman here on the other side of the door trying to help me too

and he only has a little knife, so if you can help someone else

with that butcher hook, that would be great!

I'm not a murderer! I'm the fuckin hero!

Hero? What about that mask?

What about it?

It's just that the crazy guy on the other side of the door

is also wearing a mask, which is way less scary than yours

Open the door!

Don't do it! Calm down, I only wear this mask to hide my secret identity

Right, but who do you hide it from? The police for example?

Yeah, maybe...

Mister less scary crazy man, I'm trying to open the door here, just wait...it's stuck

Are you insane?

Are you going to open the door for him? He is clearly a psychopath!

I don't know if you noticed, but you don't look like a nurse

I'm sorry if when I was eight years old I suffered a terrible trauma

even if it destroys my personal life and turns me into an outcast, misunderstood by society wearing scary clothes

You're right, some would call me an antihero just because while helping people,

I don't follow the code of ethics that people expect from me.

No need to open the window ma'am, I get it

What? Did you fall for that too? I have a butcher's hook and I wear a mask!

When do we use conocer? To know a person,

"... usted el color de los ojos de su madre?" Sabe? Mmhm. "Sabe" por que es "usted."

"... tu cuando es el examen de ciencias?"

"Sabes." Uh huh. "Sabes tu." Si.

"Yo no ... la historia de Estados Unidos."

"No se." Uh huh. "No se la historia." "Tu y yo ... el arte."

Conocer, pero "tu y yo."

Travelling Alone is Awesome! Do It! But You Need to Consider Some Things - Duration: 12:07.

To travel or to not travel alone?

That is the question.

I didn't have any skull with me, so I had to use this rubber ball, but anyways,

what is the...

But anyways, what are the advantages of traveling alone?

What are the challenges that you will find in your path if you decide to do so?

In this video

I will share some of my experiences

and some of my stories of traveling alone that may help you to do so.

I will break this video into two sections:

one, explaining the pros and cons of

traveling alone,

and this is of course my opinion and the trips I did by myself;

the second section is more practical one, in a way,

and it is related to what you take with you in your trip, more specifically

your luggage

and your backpack itself.

Starting about the pros and cons of traveling alone. Well, the first con is:

you are alone, so if any

problem appears

it's up to you.

And for example with me, on my first trip to Europe,

I was running really low in money,

so I didn't book any hotel or hostel before going. So, I would arrive into a city,

and I would have to find a place to stay

the day I was

on the fly.

And it was high season,

so all the hotels or hostels

were almost full. And I would walk, and walk, and walk

trying to find a place to stay, a place to sleep, and I wouldn't find it.

And, at the time,

smartphones weren't so common. To access Internet, I had to go to a LAN house, which was

quite a challenge. And there is this thing, when you are alone in a country,

and you don't have a place to stay.

It's

kind of daunting

and it's a really specific pressure,

but really big one, I felt.

But I had to deal with it without anyone to share. I imagine that if I had someone with me

the weight of this process of me trying to find a place to stay would be lighter.

I remember once, for example, in Paris,

I

didn't find a place to stay, and it was 7 p.m., and I was walking like

crazy in the streets trying to find a hotel or a hostel,

someplace I could sleep. I eventually found one

really

cheap, dirty,

terrible,

but it was the only room available,

so I had to get it. And as I said, if you have someone with you,

every single problem it appears

you have someone to share. It's more comfortable to be with someone.

So, this is a con of traveling alone.

A pro, you meet more people.

Since you are alone, you don't have a

person to talk with, and thus you have to be more open,

and talk to people on the trains, on the museums, whatever you go. I don't know,

maybe it's because our nature to try to connect with the other,

but when you are traveling alone, you will expose yourself more.

If you are shy or whatever,

you will do more things, I don't know if it's the magic of traveling.

So you can meet more people,

and these

encounters, they may

give you different experiences. Maybe you found

another tourist, so you guys can talk about

life, your countries. Maybe you meet a

person from the country,

so you can know more about the costumes of the place.

Meeting more people is for sure a good side of traveling alone.

Now, another con is that you may feel alone sometimes

Like, for example, me, I remember one day I was going to visit the Colosseum

and I don't know, I just got there and I felt so lonely.

I have no idea why, but I felt really lonely on that day.

And I think this is something that may happen to you, because even if you meet more people

usually they will not be with you all the time.

Since you are in a different country, and you don't know

anyone and you don't know even the places itself, being or having this feeling of being

alone is

definitely something that may happen.

For me it wasn't anything

great, it went away, but it's something that

might happen to you.

And another pro is that you can go wherever you want to go.

If you are with another person,

you have to decide with this person where you guys want to go,

and it might not be the place you want to go.

So, being alone

you have this

complete freedom to go where you want and to do whatever you want at your time.

If you tired, you stop. You don't have to agree with another person, it's you and you alone.

Now, a small tip for traveling alone.

You

kinda need to know the language,

because you don't have someone that could support you in

communicating with the natives. So, it's all in your

shoulders, the responsibility to communicate, and to do things like get a train, or order a meal.

So, knowing the language is really important. You don't have to know the language perfectly,

but it needs to be on the "so so" level at least.

Of course, the better it is, the better your experience

will be. And this is one thing really important, if you're planning to travel to someplace,

try to study the language, and if you know it

learn it better. The better you know, the better your whole experience will be.

And now about your luggage.

Well, this is an interesting topic,

and you have to decide a few things and how far you are willing to

accept some

sacrifices. Of course, if you have a lot of money, it doesn't matter,

just take whatever you want with you.

But if you don't have a lot of money, or

you want to

feel more free in your trip,

then I would recommend you to take as little as luggage as you can.

In my case, on my last trip to England,

I took with me everything I could, in a way. So, I took two

backpacks. I didn't like it too much,

it's more clunky to travel with a lot of bags. Again, if you need for whatever you're going to

your trip, then it's fine. But if you're going to discover the country,

then I would recommend less bags.

On my first trip to Europe, I

brought with me one single backpack, and it's more or less the size of

this one.

It's not big at all, and

this was the only backpack I took with me.

It was kinda crazy, but I have a few things in my favour.

The first one is that was summer, so you don't have to carry

big coats and, you know, extra pants, socks. And the idea was pretty simple,

The least things I carry with me,

the more free I am to go whatever I want to go.

The thing I said about money is if you have money, you can just

call a cab, and throw your stuff in there, and that's it. But if you are in a tight budget,

then you might consider this

small version of luggage. But it comes with a fill challenges,

one, in my example: I took with me only three shirts,

three underwears and three socks,

counting the ones I were wearing at the time.

So, I had my clothes that I was wearing and I had two spares.

The thing is every night I had to wash something.

So, I would arrive to a hotel and just wash

some clothes. Again, for me it wasn't too much a big deal, but it may be for you.

The second thing is you will sacrifice in fashion.

So, if you want to be the best look tourists,

maybe this option is not for you.

Again, since you are carrying so little stuff with you,

you're not carrying the fashion things possible. You're carrying what works,

something for cold, something for warm and some extra. Oh, and bring pajamas, I forgot so yeah,

an

extra challenge. Or for example,

my backpack was so full that I didn't have space for any shaving equipment.

So,

when I needed to shave I would go to a supermarket and I would buy a really cheap razor.

So, yeah, those were some of my experiences and tips for you if you want to travel alone.

I would say it's really good.

You grow as a person a lot.

Being alone and not having a single person to count on... You have to do things by yourself.

And thus, you have to grow, in a way. And I could say that I changed a lot

after the trip, quite

significant change.

So, yeah, maybe next trip you can think about going alone.

It's not easy and maybe it will not be the

perfect

trip that you ever imagined without any difficulties or challenges

quite the opposite, but

nevertheless will be an experience that you will remember forever, and that will

tailor you in a way,

really deep, and

meaningful way.

How Do Tattoo Artists Price? Things you need to know when bringing your tattoo idea to an artist! - Duration: 12:36.

- What's up guys, this is Dax, shop owner at

Savage Tattoo and tattoo Mentor.

And in today's video I wanted to

break down how tattoo artists price.

Price.

Price.

Price, Price.

Price.

(house music)

Because I feel like this is a really well known topic,

but, really misunderstood.

Okay so, how do tattoo artists

price?

In my experience there is about three ways.

It's either by the piece, hourly,

or by the day.

By the piece, It's just by the piece

whether it takes two sessions, three sessions,

five sessions it's by the piece.

If it's by the hour, obviously you are paying by the hour,

and if its by the day, then it's pretty much

whatever a day session is.

In the day session, it's pretty much

whatever you get done in that day.

So what did determines price?

How does an artist make his price?

This is a hard question to answer because

most artists don't know what their doing.

They compare their prices to the other artists around them.

And, the truth is, is, this is,

it's a mixture.

This is a beautiful thing. It's a mixture of art,

plus, a service business, plus,

it's like surgery, okay.

So, imagine surgery, art, in a service business

combined.

That's what tattooins about, and it's

kinda hard to compare that because of all three of them.

I mean with surgery, with, with all the health concerns

that a tattoo has, you gotta know what your doin, okay.

Your career can be ended just as fast as it starts.

And anything health related costs a lot of money, right?

Right.

Tattooing is no different even if you go to the wrong artist

and you get bad work or you get a cheap tattoo.

That's why it's cheap, cause it's not good.

A good tattoo is gonna cost, a good investment.

And then, if, we look back to famous artists,

oaky, imagine Picasso comparin how much

one of his

paintings is worth, to Leonardo Davinci or

somethin like, it doesn't work that way.

You can't compare prices to other artists.

And I'm gonna show you a better way

to find an artist rather than looking for the price,

but, we got more to get into this.

Some say the experience,

or the precision,

or the overhead costs as well as ink, needles, supplies,

plus the reputation of the shop,

plus the demand of the shop.

Plus, what's included with your tattoo?

Does it come with, free touch-ups?

Does it not?

All of this stuff is combined with pricing

and a lot of artists like to keep this stuff in mind

and all of it does matter because it's all

included in a tattoo, but,

let's make it simple.

The simplest way to put how an artist charges

is, can they they deliver?

Okay, if your wanting a tattoo,

you want somebody that you can trust

to deliver.

You don't want somebody that's 50/50 trustable.

Can they deliver a tattoo that

your gonna love for the rest of your life

every time you look in the mirror?

That's bottom line what matters.

If they can, you should be willing to pay them

whatever it takes.

If they can't, you don't wanna go to em.

Even if you get a cheaper price.

So now let's talk about a regular

do-it-all artist vs. a specialized artist,

because there is a big difference

in not every artist is created equally.

So one thing to understand is artists are not

mechanics for example,

okay.

You can't just put em into one category.

Every artists has it's own strengths and

their own weaknesses.

When I became artist, this is what I did, okay.

I look at art like this, when I started

I explored all different types of mediums,

painting, drawing, pencils, then I jumped into

tattooin and I did the same thing.

I discovered all kinds different styles of tattoos,

and I did all of them from tribal to Japanese,

Koi fish, lettering, portraits,

realism,

sacred geometry, black and gray, color, I did it all.

There is a quote out there that says,

"You can do anything,

but you can't do everything"

and that, that really stuck with me and I,

I honed it into my art because then I realized somethin.

Yeah, you can do it all, but when you do it all

you spread yourself so thin, that you just become

just a shallow artist and all your artwork looks

very similar, but it's not your style that looks similar,

it's just, the quality.

An so, I thought about it like this.

Why,

do it all,

when I could specialize in something that

I really like,

because, there are certain

styles I didn't really like.

I didn't really get into em.

I'm not really into the cartoonish lookin tattoos.

Some people are, I'm not.

I like details.

I like stuff.

I like to challenge what's possible,

on the skin,

and for that we're

talking realism and portraits, and

for me,

I thought, Okay.

I can do portraits or I can do this or I can do this,

or I can do this, but why not, but why not focus

all of that energy in one direction.

Why not just do the details in portraits?

Sure it might be scarey because I don't know if there's,

many people out there that want that stuff,

but that's what I like to do.

And, that's where I care about.

And, if I don't like a style,

I don't feel right tattooin it on somebody.

And so that's why I realized

that,

I was going to become a specialized artist in

a style, and go deep into that,

rather than in width and do all styles.

So, I don't do sacred geometry.

I don't do words. I don't do all the other styles.

I only do one.

And with Savage Tattoo, that's how our whole

shop is ran too.

We don't have do it all artists.

We have specialized artists,

and for me, and our clients, one thing that I

heard from our clients is that they like

to come to specialized artists because they know

it's not the first time that artists

has ever done that style,

okay.

That's a big mistake to go to somebody that

has never done what you want.

So, being a specialized artist,

it allows you to be more trustable.

Because, when people come into my chair,

they know, when they come in,

they're not just coming in to get a portrait.

They're not just stoppin by for a portrait.

They're coming to get the best portrait that

they can get in Utah, and that's why

they come to me.

And because I specialize in portraits.

And because I specialize in portraits, they trust me

a lot more than they would trust me if I just did

every style, but that's all they see,

is a lot of detailed tattoos, so they know

I can deliver.

They know that whatever they pay me,

they're gonna get somethin they're happy about.

And, that's the type of artist that I recommend

you going to, is an artist, that's going to

deliver on whatever your wanting.

So, only you can make that decision, but whenever

you're talking to the artists, just know

that there's a lot more than what goes into

pricing, than what you really think.

But, at the end of the day it just comes down to.

Is it worth it to you?

Can they deliver?

And by the way, when choosing and artist.

When you're asking them about prices, hourly, whatever.

Now here's another thing to keep in mind.

Just because you see and hourly rate,

say you go to a shop that charges and hourly rate,

and then you go to another one to see what kinda

price that you can get and, one of them is cheaper.

You get a cheaper hourly rate,

and they look like they do the same good work.

Now, just because it's an hourly rate.

That's not the only factor that determines the

total price your going to pay.

Certain artists, specifically artists that do it all

and are less experienced in one specific style.

They take a lot longer to do specific styles.

The specialized artist , say for example me,

I can do portraits in about half the time that

another tattoo artist usually does.

And the reason why is because I have that experience.

I know what I'm doin.

So, just because you get a cheaper hourly rate,

don't think that your gonna get a cheaper

price from that artist.

One specific example is I had somebody come to me

even though I charge about double the hourly rate

of this other artist, but they came to me because

they realized that this artist was taking two to

three times longer to do the same thing

as I would have done and it didn't look as good.

So, that is somethin to consider.

Like you have to realize there's

expertise involved, in, in the timing.

Now how many hours is your tattoo gonna take?

That totally depends.

I can't give you the answer to that,

but, you know, the experience of the precision

in the artist has matters.

Between two artists the time difference can be dramatic.

And there is a few things you know.

Expertise matters.

The quality of equipment.

What needles are they using?

The same thing as I would've done,

and it didn't look, as good.

So, that's somethin to consider.

Now, like you have to realize there's expertise

And how many breaks that the artist takes,

or that you take?

All of that stuff matters.

So, with all of this information

I just gave you, you're probably like

what the

faaaaak.

So, how do we know which artist to go with,

and how much to pay?

Well, the only answer to that is to get,
