Waching daily Aug 4 2018

Hello, my name is Dr. Tricia Groff at Success Without Ceilings for High

Achievers. Today, I'm going to talk to you about walking a dog. Now, I don't actually

own a dog, but I'm still going to teach you how to walk one. I was running in

this quiet tree-lined neighborhood one morning, and ahead of me, I noticed a

little, light, fluffy dog on the right side of the road. This was the type of

dog that people would dress in Halloween costumes or put in pink tutus, and add to

their family photos. So it looked out of place, and I was a little bit concerned.

I kept on running toward the dog, and as I was doing so, a man passed me on the left

side of a sidewalk. I didn't think about it, because he was obviously out for his

early-morning exercise. But then I looked back, and behind his long purposeful

stride, was an empty leash. I looked at the dog. I looked at the man, and I slowed

down. What do I do? It's a quiet early morning; it's like

5:30 a.m., and I wasn't sure if I should yell, "excuse me mister! You've lost your

dog!" or just keep watching. So about half a block later, I saw the man look down...

he looked back at the leash, he looked up, and then he saw the dog. And I started

running really quickly because I was laughing so hard, and it was obviously at

him. How often do we think that we're walking the dog when we're actually

walking the leash? We want to get from here to there, and so we're working

really hard; we're walking really fast' we're focused...but we never looked back

to see that what we think is happening is actually happening. So what I want you

to keep in mind, is as focused you are on getting there, look back sometimes

and make sure that the dog is still attached to the leash. This is Dr. Tricia

Groff at Success Without Ceilings for High Achievers. For more information, you

to wealth. You ready? Let's do it.

Episode #10 - Money is not the Goal. You know, some people think that money will

make them truly happy. They believe that if they could buy what they wanted, when

they wanted, where they wanted, with who they wanted, they'd be truly happy. But if

you actually look around you'll see that there's very happy people in every class

of society. You've got people who don't seem to have much but they're very happy,

and you've got people who have everything but they experience awful

problems and pain. Ultimately money is important, it's an important part of our

lives, but it's not the goal. It's just a tool that we use to fulfill our purpose

on this earth. What we really want is we want fulfillment. We want satisfaction.

We want peace and love in our relationships. We want to make a difference. We want to

contribute. We want to do good in this world. We want our life to matter. We want

significance. Now money is an important tool that can be used to reach those

things - it can be the means to an end, but it's not the goal. And as you're making

choices with your life about what to do and what to pursue, what your priorities

are - make sure you recognize that money is

not the goal and money will not make you truly happy. That was this week's "Money

Minute." Make sure you share it with your friends. Think about it - if you don't help

Joey Gibson: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com - Duration: 8:46.

Joey Gibson: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Joey Gibson is a right-wing political activist.

He is the leader and of the far-right Patriot Prayer group, an organization which has been accused of ties to the alt-right.

Gibson says that Patriot Prayer is not a white nationalist group and has no alt-right connections; he says Patriot Power is all about "freedom, love, and peace.

Patriot Prayer is helping to organize a protest in Portland this weekend, and many people are concerned that the event will turn violent, like last year's "Unite the Right" event in Charlottesville Virginia.

Joey Gibson lives in Vancouver, Washington.

He is married and has two children.

He is running a long-shot campaign for a US Senate seat this year.

Here's what you need to know about Joey Gibson:.

Gibson Became Politically Active In 2016, When He Got Excited About Trump.

His Movement Grew Into Patriot Prayer.

Gibson has said that before 2016, he was politically unmotivated and unaware.

But like many Americans, he was pushed into political activity by Donald Trump's presidential run.

Gibson was excited about Trump's candidacy and wanted to support him.

He was also angry by what he saw on TV — the brawls breaking out at Trump rallies which Gibson blamed on anti-Trump demonstrators.

"That put a fire in me that I never experienced in my entire life," he told The Columbian.

"Something changed in me at that moment in time, because at that point I decided that our country is not America anymore, and that was the first time I saw that.".

Gibson went to the Republican National Convention, vowing that the right would take back the streets from left-wing protesters.

He told The Columbian, "I noticed that the left owned the streets, and so I came back committed to getting people involved, to getting people on the street, the libertarian, the conservative.".

He started organizing like-minded people, and the movement he created eventually grew into Patriot Prayer.

Gibson Says Patriot Prayer Is Devoted To Peace And Love.

But The Group Is Planning to Bring Guns To Their Next Rally.

Gibson has repeatedly denied that Patriot Power has anything to do with violent extremism.

He preaches to his followers about God and about non-violence.

And he says that reports that his group — and groups like the Proud Boys — are white nationalists are totally false; in campaign speeches, he talks about ignoring the color of one's skin and focusing on religion and values instead.

Gibson says that Patriot Power believes in love, peace, and freedom.

But Gibson is also planning to come armed to his upcoming Portland rally — and he wants his supporters to do the same.

"We've always had guns at the rally," Gibson said in a video on Facebook.

"Everyone should be carrying around guns at all times.".

Gibson is also very friendly with groups like the Proud Boys, a far-right group that has been accused of violent extremism.

Gibson Grew Up in Washington State.

He Had Strict Parents But Eventually Rebelled And Wound Up Jailed, and Later Homeless.

Gibson grew up in Camas, a small city in Washington State.

He described his parents as "strict" and "good." In high school, Gibson was the quarterback on the football team.

But towards the end of his senior year, Gibson started getting in trouble.

The details are vague, but Gibson told The Columbian that he started drinking and eventually broke into a restaurant in Washougal.

He did some time in jail and dropped out of school.

When he got out of jail, he was homeless for a while, drifting from place to place and living in Portland, Seattle, Mexico, and Hawaii.

Finally, an athletic director from his high school contacted him and offered him a job coaching football.

Gibson took the job and credits it with turning his life around.

Gibson Is Running a Long-Shot Campaign For Senate.

He Wants His Followers to 'Start the Revolution'.

Gibson is running to be a US Senator from Washington State.

In his campaign rallies, he lambasts Antifa and Nancy Pelosi, often in the same sentence.

He rallies his followres by saying, "We will not bend the knee" and by saying that "it is time for those who believe in freedom to be more aggressive.".

He says that Second Amendment rights, and the freedom of religion, are some of the most important issues to his campaign.

He calls on his followers to "spiritually empower" themselves so that they can "start the revolution." He told his followers, "We have an Empire above us that wants to brainwash us" and has called on his followers to have "a revolution of the heart" and non-violently oppose the "empire.".

Gibson Says The Right To Bear Arms is God-Given.

He Also Calls For Less Regulation of Pharmaceuticals.

Reducing government regulation is a big issue for Gibson's Senate campaign.

He wants to drastically lower property taxes and income taxes (he supports a sales tax).

He also wants an end to government regulations on pharmaceuticals; he charges that the price of medicine is too high, and that the big pharmaceutical companies have a stranglehold on the industry.

Gibson also speaks often about gun rights.

He emphasizes that the right to bear arms is "God-given" and does not come from the government.

He talks about non-violence but has also urged his supporters to carry guns with them "everywhere.".

How to look at Business Growth in eyes of a buyer... - Duration: 4:46.

Growth. This one gets ... this one's also obvious,

it's how you measure it and how you go forward with it.

it's your likelihood of growing your business into the future and at what rate

if you have a track record and you can show a track record of how that

look forward you can show that you're a growing company industry plays

a little bit into the factors here market share plays a factor but

inversely to what you might think I'll touch on that opt-in database

the industry .... if you're in a dying industry that's gonna hurt

I think that that one's obvious if the industry is shrinking that's going to

bring down the ability to to sell and a pretty substantial number 33%

lower market share actually is a better thing the lower

the market share the more somebody would see you as a viable

alternative to grow market share right if you have a viable business that has

low market share in a large market they can say hello it's taken extra 1% let's

take of the market we take an extra 1% of the market you know it's a much more

valuable space or they can see cross-sell opportunities

I have an example later but when when you go to you know make strategic choices

sometimes you're making a decision

do you add more services or do you find more customers

make some some decisions at times

when a very small portion of your customers could be buying what you are selling

buying is your services that's actually going to give your Highest multiple

scale-ability matters

if you were to five times your demand

Your sales department did a great job at selling...maybe some of you are are the sales department... you did a great job in selling you five

times revenue the next quarter you five times revenue how does that how well does your

company cope with five times revenue does it have a cash clot does it have

the ability to not impact customer service levels does your

operations keep up how well can you scale that up or down so that makes a

pretty big difference you know so obviously fairly easy is the higher

multiple and impossible decreases your multiple

if you the history growth I think that one was obvious but twelve months do you expect

your revenue to grow you know if you're more likely than your multiples higher

if you're less likely if you're shrinking then then no the bigger your

marketing footprint so this is opt-in so this is a new you know not that not

everybody participates in this at this point but I think you guys start

thinking about it because it does it's a measure that matters not just to not

just to value valuation for sale but also for making sure you've got a

healthy business that you can sleep at night knowing that you have more

customers that are likely to come in the door right so if you have a

subscribership and opt in an email list you know you have social media following

I'm sure there's a social media following I think right so the bigger

you're following the bigger live people that are you know starting to like your

brand and watch your brand and pay attention to you the more valuable your

company is and it's also a good marketing funnel right it helps you

helps you grow your business also if you don't I mean if you are putting

effort in maybe you know and put more effort in if you're not putting effort

in maybe you want to start considering what what do you do to put some effort

into that and this is the cross sell again if you if you had customers that

have the potential to cross all this doesn't mean your cross selling

currently so if you sell widgets and those customers could also buy what

would be complimentary to widgets

then you would then you have the you know there's more potential there's more

growth potential in the business it doesn't mean you have to be doing

that because sometimes somebody it's a strategic buyer that wants to buy

your business maybe looking at it saying oh they're really good to have a great

customer base and they're strong in customer service and all this other

stuff we can help grow that revenue by bringing our piece of the puzzle

together and create this you know new partnership merger

Get a Fan Base - Duration: 1:54.

This one's near and dear to my heart. I don't want to spend too much time on it.

I can spend days on this one, the customer score

This is about do you have a measurement

do you have something that's telling you the likelihood that your customers will repurchase and refer to, right?

so it's about referencing and

there's actually, I think it's called the Fred, I don't have his name written

down here. Fred Reichheld, or something like that, he wrote a book called

The Ultimate Question or The Ultimate Score.

But it is a customer measure called net promoter score,

and I'm a big believer in net promoter score NPS

we can spend a lot of time on it like I said but we won't but

it is about measuring fans it's about measuring those satisfied versus fans

and the ones that are fans are the ones that are likely to help you grow your

business and the more fans that you have the better your business is growing and so

it helps out in the growing chart also okay the measurement which I won't get

into today but 15 if you have a score of over fifteen you have what's considered

probably a "growing business" "a thriving business" something that is going to get

you get you places get you where your your Maserati that you're trying to get

to your vacations you're trying to get to write it helps you sleep better

at night so and the the beauty of the score is that it it's statistically

meaningful it's not it's not just gathering customer data and doing

nothing with it because I think that a lot of folks do gather customer data but

it's difficult to get any real value know that we might assess the value too

but we might be wrong this system is a really good system for assessing value

and and and being able to take actions on that value

Watch out for the business owners trap - Duration: 1:13.

and the final driver is hub-and-spoke so this is about you

typically in the room

or the top top executive if you're not the owner.....what percentage are you in

the business versus on the business how much how much of the personal

relationships are yours how much of the customer relationships are yours versus

your sales staff versus your operation staff how much of that experience is you

versus your company. can you can you walk away can you I'll call it be

hit by the bus for three months and with the business be impacted by you not

being there right so I think that some folks are doing well in this and some

not so well but if you're doing well in this it obviously makes a pretty big

difference the average is three point six but if you're not doing so well two

point five is a substantial discount for for companies that

are reliant on their owner being there for them to survive

Alexander Hamilton! BookTubeAThon 2018 | Day Five! - Duration: 4:06.

Happy fifth day, day five of BookTubeAThon. It's Friday.

I've finished all seven books

of BookTubeAThon yesterday and all seven

reading challenges. Uh, I've since

then been reading The Magicians's Land.

This is the third book in the trilogy,

by Lev Grossman.

And it is what the SciFi television show

is based on...as you can see by

this supper annoying, I wish it was a sticker, it's not, thing.

I've, I've only gotten

like 42 pages in, nothing...nothing uh,

nothing too remarkable yet.

But you know what is remarkable?

Today's video challenge. I love

today's video challenge. It is to dress up

as either: a book cover, a book,

or a character from a book. And

it can be maybe like a

bounding situation, or maybe your

own interpretation. Or it could be

full on cosplay. And because

it can be full on cosplay, that's what I did.

So the book I chose is non-fiction,

it's about a historical figure.

And since this is a booktube video, and books

and writing go hand in hand, I thought it would be

perfect to choose

a historical figure who's skill with the quill is

undeniable.

Yes.

I dressed up as Alexander Hamilton.

The book,

the character is coming from is

Alexander Hamilton

by Ron Chernow. This is the book that inspired

Lin-Manuel Miranda to create the musical Hamilton.

And it even says that

with another one of these not-stickers.

Hamilton the Revolution, about

the Broadway play.

Oh what's coming out of here? Oh, it's when I went to Mount Vernon.

Uh, George Washington's estate,

a few summers. So yeah, this book...

this is about the play, the musical,

That Lin-Manuel Miranda created. So my Alexander

Hamilton costume I made myself a few years ago,

with some help from my mom with all those buttons and button holes.

And it is part

of my MEOWexander Hamilton

cosplay, where I merge the musicals Hamilton

and Cats.

And of course with that

I have a wig and makeup and a tail and arm and leg warmers

to make it more Jellicle.

I wore it to the last two BroadwayCons.

So that's one reason why

I don't have proper boots to go with this costume. Beacuse

I was using leg warmers to represent the boots

in my MEOWexander. It is based

on Hamilton's Act One ,

Scene One outfit right here.

You can see. Um, yeah so,

this part in my Cats costume is

leg warmers. Um, but I think I did

a pretty good job of getting pretty close.

Also if you take off

the

coat, it can kinda look like

the final act, or sort of the chorus members

outfits when they're wearing just all white.

Yeah, you can kinda see this side, this guy.

It would kinda look like him. Here's a good one, you can see a lot of the

chorus members wearing just the white,

um, basics. So if I wanted to dress up as a chorus member I could

totally do that as well with what I have. Um, but yeah, so I hope

this counts for the

challenge.

being a character from a book.

Happy reading. Meow.
