Waching daily May 2 2017

Hey guys! It's Trina and today

I'm making a video inspired by the book

The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr.

This video is being sponsored by Penguin Teen

and they sent me the copy of this book

early in order for me to give an honest

review of it. I'm going to be telling you

what this book is about and what my

review of it is, and then I'm going to

get into sharing the one memory that I

never want to forget. This book actually

was released in the UK in January but it

is coming out in the United States on

May 2nd, so this book will be out by the

time you are seeing this video. This is a

YA contemporary story with kind of a

mystery edge to it about a young girl

named Flora Banks who when she was 10

years old doctors discovered a tumor on

her brain. The procedure that removed the

tumor also caused her to have a form of

amnesia and she can no longer create

memories, so her only memories that she

has are from when she was 10 years old.

She still remembers who she is, who her

parents are, how to do certain things but

she's never been able to make a new

memory since then and now she is 17. One

night she's at a party and she kisses

her best friend's boyfriend and when she

wakes up the next morning she can

remember it. So it's the first new thing

that she's been able to remember in

seven years and Flora thinks that maybe

her memory is finally starting to

improve. Personally, I rated this book

three-and-a-half stars and what that

means on my rating scale is I consider

three stars to be right in the middle. It

is average because I can't rate a book

zero stars, or at least I don't, so between 1

and 5, 3 is the midpoint and 3.5 is

slightly above average. So that basically

just means I had more positive thoughts

about this book than negative thoughts. A

couple of things that I struggled with

in this book were the writing style. It is

very simplistic and very repetitive,

especially at first, and that is

something that I found myself - I would

just stop while reading and start to

like reword the sentences in my head to

be something that I found more appealing.

But honestly I found that the writing

style was actually a character trait of

Flora. It reflects her mental state and

as the book goes on and she gains a

little bit more confidence in herself

and believes that she is healing, you can

see that the writing does grow stronger

and it stops being as choppy and it

stops being quite as repetitive. Although

it is still fairly repetitive because

she has amnesia and she's constantly

like saying things that we already know

about but she's forgotten them. Another

thing that I struggled with it first was

that the idea of kissing this boy has

fixed Flora's memory. Flora definitely

says, "he's cured me. If I can just be with

him again I will start to remember

everything." This is an idea that I think

is probably harmful because it will set

up an unrealistic expectation in your

head, especially if it deals with

something like a mental illness or an

injury or something. Thinking that a love

interest is going to fix that, I can see

how this is a harmful concept and so I

want to mention this because it is

included on the book jacket summary so

you may already know that about this

book. I actually tagged every single time

in the book where it credits this guy

with healing her memory. It was about

eighteen mentions in the book, so if

that's something that you've seen in the

book summary and you're concerned about,

yes it is present, yes it might kind of

bother you, but in the end I don't think

the book reinforces that idea. It

definitely shows that that is not the

case. To talk about the things that I

enjoyed the entire way through, Flora is

a really unreliable narrator and there

are times when like you learn

information that she's known for days

but she didn't know she already knew it. And so

another character will be like, "yeah I told

you that last week," and so it kind of

changes how you perceive things. I did

enjoy the unreliable narrator aspect of

this book because it left a lot of room for surprises.

And then even though I didn't always

love the writing style, even though I came

to appreciate it, I did think that the

writing imparted a really good sense of

urgency and mystery and I just really

wanted to know what was going on. Like,

about a third of the way through the

book I got incredibly gripped by it and

I had to stay up way too late reading.

And when I have books that really just

kidnap me like that, that is part of

the reading experience that I really

highly value. So there was a lot that I

liked about it but really that writing

style and the idea of his love fixing

her and she just being so like

instalove attached to him, those were kind of

the things that I didn't like but I did

enjoy this book a lot more than I

initially thought that I would. So that's

the information about this book and my

review of it, and inspired by the idea of

this book where she only has this one

memory that she's been able to make,

I'm going to talk to you guys about the

one memory that I would never want to

forget. So I'm actually going to cut now

to me and my husband together talking to

you guys about some of our favorite memories.

This is my husband. He's been in

a couple of videos with me before. In the

book Flora Banks, that character was 10

years old when she got amnesia so she

remembered everything before she was 10

so in our scenarios were also going to

act as if we can remember everything

before we were 10 years old. So we still

remember like who our families are, who

we are, and stuff like that. So after 10

what is a memory that we most cherish?

Which, we're a lot older than Flora Banks

was [laughs] so we would be missing like

two-thirds of our life pretty much, so

that's a bit more of a challenge.

Initially, I thought about I wanted to

remember something to do about my mother

because she passed away when I was 12

years old and that has really influenced

and impacted my life. Looking at it a

little bit more practically, like, I don't

know that I would want to relive finding

that out over and over and then

forgetting all the things that I've

learned since then that have made me who

I am, so if I am going to be like

practical about this one memory I can

keep with me I would choose something

doing with my husband because from now

on if I wake up every morning I would

want to remember him, know who he is, so I

would want to remember a day that we

spent together. And I think we have the

same memory and we're just going to kind

of talk about it. We went to Hawaii on

our honeymoon, which was five years ago.

We went to the island of Oahu and I

really wanted to go kayaking, and you

were supposed to get in your kayak in

this canal and then paddle out to the

part where it goes out into the ocean

and then go to this island that was kind

of off the coast. And when we get to the

canal where the little training video

told us this is where you get in at, well

we didn't realize that like the tide was

much lower, but I get in the canoe and

then he gets in the canoe and we just

sink to the bottom [laughs]. Like there's only like

this much water. Enough for the canoe

to float and one person to float but not

[laughing] both of us. So we're like, well I

guess we'll just get out and drag the

canoe through the water, but then there

are all these little crabs [laughs]

running around in the water and I flipped out! [laughing]

[Man:] Yeah pretty much. I ended up pulling her along.

Um. And you know, as you can see I have glasses.

The glasses got like fogged up but

also like waterlogged and I couldn't see anything.

[Trina:] Like I'm in the - in the kayak

sitting there and he's pulling it on a

rope, trudging through this canal because

I'm terrified of all these crabs. [laughing]

And then we get to the end point where it's

supposed to meet up with the beach and

it's literally a sand bar because the

water is not high enough, so we had to

get out anyway and then just like get in

again against the waves and we got

knocked out once and then we get in the

water and we see floating jellyfish that

are dead all around us and I - I just flip

out and we're in the middle of the ocean.

We made it to our Island.

[Man:] It was a bird sanctuary so a lot of people were going

around taking pictures and looking at

birds and stuff but at this point I

can't see anything and I was trying to

take pictures I think on my camera phone

at the time and it had gotten like

fogged up or something so the pictures weren't - [Trina:] The lens was foggy.

[Man:] Yeah. So the pictures weren't

turning out good, we were already tired

and stressed out just from the first half.

[Trina:] We wanted to go to another Beach

that you can only get to by kayak but as

soon as we got done with that island I was

like terrified. We'd already fallen out

once, there were all these jellyfish

around and I was just like, 'I'm going to

fall out of this kayak and have the

jellyfish just drag me under. I'm

never going to see anybody ever again.'

Like I just gotten so terrified [laughing] but I got

like in the zone and I was just like

paddling and we made it back [laughing] to shore.

So there's this little wheel thing that

you attach to your kayak so you can

drag it up and down that street to get

it from the rental place to the beach

and so he didn't put the wheel thing

on in the right position and it make it

like five times harder to pull. And I

just remember [laughing] on our way back he

was struggling pulling this kayak

behind us and he was like

huffing and just like struggling with it. [laughing]

[Man:] I'm the big bad man so - [Trina:] He can't admit it.

[Man:] I can't admit that I'm struggling, I have to

just, you know hey, it's my brand-new wife,

I gotta show her I'm strong.

[Trina:] Like I could tell that something was wrong but neither

one of us really realized what the

problem was until we got back and saw

somebody else had strapped their wheels

onto their kayak right and then he did it and he was like oh

man that was like five times easier! [laughing]

So it was a complete bust but after that,

even though we cut our day of kayaking

really short, there was this little shave

ice place right next to it and so we

went in and I remember after this terrible

day sitting on a bench like in a parking

lot in Hawaii, us eating shave ice

together and that - I can like very

vividly remember that memory and

thinking like, 'it's all going to be okay.

If we can get through this, it's going to

be okay,' which is a really reassuring

thought to have when you're newly

married because it's a big transition in your life.

[Man:] Yep. [Trina:] That's a memory that I

feel like we often reminisce on.

The carrying me down the canal with the crabs. [laughing]

It was just one that we frequently still

talk about. I thought it'd be fun to

share because that would be a good

memory to where if I woke up tomorrow and

couldn't remember anything else at least I would

remember him, know that we are married,

and that yes he is supposed to be in my

house, you know? So that's one of our favorite

memories inspired by the premise that's

going on in Flora Banks and I hope that

this video has told you a little bit

about the book and helped you decide if

you would like this one or not and told

you a little bit about us, I guess? [laughing]

If anyone is looking forward to this book I

would love to hear that, or if you've

already read it we can definitely talk

more about it down below, and if you guys

want to share with me in the comments

what is one memory that you would never

want to forget I would love to hear that.

Thank you so much for watching and I'll

see you in the comments. Bye!

Non-Humans That People Actually Married - Duration: 7:02.

Finding love isn't easy... but have you ever stopped to think that maybe you're going about

it all wrong?

Who says you have to fall in love with an actual person?

Love is hard, and weddings get… complicated.

Fulfillment takes all forms, and while your eventual marriage to your favorite object

may not be considered "legal" in most states, love is love.

Here are a few things that people have formed non-traditional relationships with.

If you find yourself looking at, say, your shoes or that tube of tennis balls a little

differently after watching this, don't blame us.

But do invite us to the wedding.

The Berlin Wall

From an early age, Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer knew she was into things, not people, and

never felt the need to hide her orientation.

In the '70s, Berliner-Mauer wanted to teach others about her feelings, and helped coin

the term "Objectum Sexuality," or simply "OS."

In 1979, she made her love official when she married the Berlin Wall, an object she'd loved

since she was a child, changing her last name to, literally, "Berlin Wall."

It's easy to make fun of someone like Berliner-Mauer for their odd proclivities.

However, she and other OS individuals have insisted that it's not just a fetish, but

rather a complete orientation.

Why the Berlin wall?

She explained,

"I find long, slim things with horizontal lines very sexy.

The Great Wall of China's attractive, but he's too thick — my husband is sexier."

Unfortunately, the marriage ended in tragedy.

In 1989, the Berlin wall was demolished.

The widowed Berliner-Mauer was horrified, but in her deceased husband's place, she kept

multiple models of the wall at her home.

Fortunately for her, she was able to move on.

At the time of her death in 2015, she was kind of seeing a nearby garden fence.

That's not a joke.

A large rock

Tracey Emin is something of a high-concept performance artist.

You may recognize her from her controversial installation called "My Bed", which recently

sold for millions of dollars, and was pretty much just her bed after she soiled it for

three days during a mental breakdown.

Art, right?

"I don't know much about art, but I know what I like."

Recently, for the love of art, Emin married an "impressive stone" in her garden.

For Emin, the groom rock represents permanence in an unreliable world.

Emin described her feelings about the marriage, saying,

"It just means that at the moment I am not alone.

Somewhere on a hill facing the sea, there's a very beautiful ancient stone, and it's not

going anywhere.

It will be there, waiting for me."

That's a pretty lovely sentiment, even if the rock, and most human beings, will never

understand.

The exhibit itself, titled "I Cried Because I Love You," features several of her works

in a variety of mediums revolving around her stone-cold wedding.

Not one for tradition, Emin wore a white shroud that was initially intended to cover her father's

dead body.

Now, she has a husband who will never take her for granite.

A Barbie doll

A man marrying a Barbie doll might sound a little creepy, but it's okay.

He was only doing it for his dead wife, who had tragically committed suicide twenty years

prior to their own personal Barbie dream wedding.

Chang Hsi-hsum believed that the doll contained his spirit of his former wife, Tsai, and wanted

to give her the happy marriage of her dreams.

Chang had married another human wife in the years since Tsai's death, but his new wife

was totally cool with the marriage, which took place in 1999.

The wedding reportedly looked like a traditional Buddhist ceremony with the plastic bride adorned

with gold jewelry.

Chang was relieved to have finally found spiritual peace, saying,

"Now I will marry her spirit and take her home.

We will be finally together and able to live in peace."

…providing that Ken isn't the jealous type.

And we all know that he is.

"I can't take it here, Ken.

I wanna go to the butterfly room with you!"

"Yeah, well, you should've thought of that yesterday."

A pizza

In 2015, The Mirror reported that an unnamed Russian man decided human love was just too

much trouble.

Rather than finding another annoying, needy human, full of emotions and thoughts and not

nearly enough pepperoni, he decided to straight up marry a pizza.

The happy groom made no secret about his motivations, saying,

"Love between two humans is a complicated wild thing … Pizza would not reject you

or betray you, and speaking quite frankly and sincerely, I love it."

The marriage was not officially recognized for obvious reasons, the least of which being

the fact that the ordeal sounds like a rejected too-hot-for-TV Ninja Turtles plot.

Multiple inflatable animals

Though the young man we know only as Mark is happily married to Lila, a dragon-shaped

inflatable toy, he's still involved with 14 other inflatables.

Featured on TLC's My Strange Addiction, Mark deeply loves the toys and keeps his relationships

completely non-sexual.

"If I could marry Lila, I would, because I am that much in love with her."

Mark realizes that his relationship to the inflatables might not be completely healthy.

By admitting that his obsession with blow up toys was a coping mechanism left over from

his traumatic childhood, Mark has been able to wean himself off of his dependency on inflatable

objects, even if that only means spending a couple of days away from them every week.

And what relationship can't benefit from spending a little bit of time apart?

The Statue of Liberty

Amanda Whittaker of Yorkshire fell head over heels in love with the Statue of Liberty and

now can't imagine love with anyone else.

While Whittaker has admitted to being attracted to a few different objects, Lady Liberty,

who she calls "Libby," is her favorite, for obvious reasons.

She's traveled across the sea to visit her partner four times and has been lucky enough

to land a kiss.

As of 2013, Whittaker considered the statue to be her partner, but they aren't technically

married.

She knows that too many people love Libby, so she won't subject her to a monogamous relationship.

Still, she goes by the name "Amanda Liberty," and to celebrate their love, she keeps replicas

of the statue in her home which she can love more freely.

Recently, she's given Lady Liberty some space and kind of moved on to chandeliers and candleholders.

Twilight Sparkle

When you're a Brony, how far is too far?

"Say love, love, if you love ponies, you're my little pony girl."

Do you draw the line at wearing your Rainbow Dash t-shirt to dinner, or do you just go

full-brony and post your erotic fan art online under your real name?

Any potential future employer who doesn't understand your attraction to a cartoon animal

just isn't worth your time anyhow.

In 2013, a letter from one angry Pony-lover went viral.

The unnamed Brony had contacted a DeviantArt user, asking him to stop requesting erotic

art of his fiancee, Twilight Sparkle, saying in part,

"...we're planning on getting married next June or July should everything go as planned

financially speaking.

And yes, I have found a wedding chapel that will let me marry someone that most people

would consider a fictional character."

True to his word, the man claimed to have later gotten married via webcam, since "his

family in Equestria wasn't going to be able to attend anyway."

He continues to publish countless images of himself with his plushie bride even today,

visiting museums together, smoking, and sharing sweet, sweet pony love.

And the less said about that last one, the better.

Hasbro could not be reached for comment, but we're assuming that it sound something like

this.

"Oh my god, AHHH, AHHHHH, AAHHHHH, AHHHHH!

Oh, that's better.

AAHHHHH!"

How To Job Hunt! - The Tips You Need To Start Your Job Search! - Duration: 5:52.

Hi, Philip Chesney here from English interviews.

For today's tip, we're going to see how to job hunt, so how to do your job search.

So, for our first tip of the day, it is networking, so you need to follow up with friends, family,

colleagues, alumni, make sure that they know that you are on the job hunt.

Make sure to participate in networking events such as lectures at your college or maybe

company event so you're constantly meeting other people.

And also happy hours you might have some friends that are working at a company and there might

be a position that is open up of the company that you're going to find out about so these

things are very important.

Also make sure that you call people up for a coffee meeting, get together at Starbucks,

talk a little bit, talk about the market, and see they might actually have some positions

available at their company.

For our next one, make sure that you map out companies that you want to work for or companies

that interest you.

So, first of all, what you should do is create a Word document or spreadsheet and write down

the companies that you want to work for along with the hyperlinks directly to their career

or their job page, so quickly on a daily basis or on a weekly basis you can check the available

positions at the company.

Additionally, you need to conduct research on the company so you need to look up their

mission statement their values what they intend to do in the future what segment they are

in, what kind of business are they, look up what's new about the company in the market

and also what are some current news on the company so you really need to do your homework

about the company.

Also, you should really try to connect with some of their employees try to find them on

LinkedIn connect with them send them a message or even see which ones are your second or

third connection on LinkedIn try to have a friend introduce you this is very effective.

Number three, reach out to companies even if they're not hiring so for instance imagine

that there's a new company coming to your region or at the moment they only have very

senior positions, write them a letter write them an email and also send your resume.

What you really want to do is get on their radar.

So, next time they need a project manager or maybe a marketing analyst or some position,

they already have someone that you know they've seen before, what about John or what about

Phil, you know, we have this resume let's give them a call let's Skype.

So, this is another great way for you to get on their radar.

Number four, preparing your resume.

Get your resume ready and have multiple versions of it and remember your resume is not a one-size-fits-all

approach you need to have multiple versions, you might have to tweak it to make some small

adjustments to it so that it's more appropriate for the position that's being offered.

Number five, make sure that you have a LinkedIn profile.

As the saying goes, "if you don't have a Linkedin, profile you don't exist."

Recruiters nowadays really look at LinkedIn profiles sometimes or even three quarters

of them will look at your profile beforehand so make sure you have it and make sure that

it's 100% complete.

Also, as a quick test, what I want you to do is Google yourself.

Type your name in, see what comes up.

This is very important because if the recruiter wants to know who is Phil Chesney, he might

type me in Google and see what comes up.

So take a look at what comes up in the search field and also in the pictures, so you may

have some cleaning up to do, so make sure you're aware of this.

Number six for your job search make sure you create profiles on LinkedIn, Monster, Indeed

and the other main jobhunting websites.

Make sure you have a profile and make sure that you upload your resume there.

Number seven, make sure you apply to positions that you have relevant experience.

Now if you're applying for a director position and you're just starting out your career,

maybe you should be looking for a trainee position or maybe an internship or a junior

position, but a director position is really different.

You may not of had that experience yet, so make sure you focus on relevant positions.

This will really increase the likelihood of you getting that phone call and then going

in for an interview.

And number eight, follow up with the companies that you have sent your resume to contact

a recruiter contact a responsible person you may have seen them on LinkedIn or you may

have actually had an email from him previously, contact him, see if the position is still

open and put yourself on his radar again, show him that you're really interested in

the position.

I hope that you liked today's short tip of the day and that you will be able to put it

into practice.

Dreamers 102 | What to Do While Waiting on God - Duration: 8:17.

Hey girls! Tiffany Dawn here and welcome

back to Tuesday Girl Talk! And this video

is going to be called Dreamers 102.

Turns out that dreamers 101, which I

posted a few months ago, was a favorite

for you girls, so I want to do a

follow-up. And I also want to do this

because several of you have written in

questions about waiting -- like, what do I

do while I'm single? How do I enjoy

Father-daughter time? But I think that

the answer to those questions is very

similar to the answer for all of life's

waiting seasons. Like there are always

seasons in life when we're waiting on

our dreams to come true, whether that's

getting out of school, getting the job

you've dreamed of, getting married, going

overseas as a missionary, or whatever

else. And what do you do when you're

waiting? So let's talk about that today.

And at the end of this video I'm going

to tell you a little sneak preview of

our trip to Europe, because we leave this

weekend! So stay to the end and check that out.

So the first thing I learned

about waiting is that comparison robs

your joy. So here's an example -- and this

one's actually something I've been

working through recently. I love this

YouTube channel, like I love spending

time with you girls and creating these

videos, and I was like, "Wow look at how

much it's growing and like look at this

community we're building and like I love

these girls!" And then I got distracted by

looking at somebody else's path. So I

started noticing that some other girls

were growing way faster than my channel

was and I started wondering, "What am I

doing wrong?" And I started comparing

where God had me to where God has them.

It started taking away all the joy I

felt about YouTube! I started feeling

discouraged and like I was just striving

to be somewhere else in my path that God

didn't have for me. And that happens in

all different seasons of waiting -- like in

singleness, it's so easy to look at

somebody else's path, as you see all

those notifications pop up on Facebook,

it's like, "Why is she getting engaged and

I'm not?" "Why does she have the awesome

boyfriend and I don't?" And it's so easy

to compare where God has

you to where God has that person. But

comparison will rob your joy -- the joy

that was meant for you in your season. It

reminds me of Proverbs 4:25, which

says, "Let your eyes look straight ahead.

Fix your gaze directly before you." Pay

attention to the path that God has you

on. Tip number two is do what God has put

in your hands to do. In every season of

life there's something He's put in front

of you, whether that's your homework and

your schoolwork, whether that's the job

that you have, whether that's serving in

your church. And it might not be what you

dreamed of doing down the road, but

there's always something. And

sometimes it seems so mundane and so

boring and meaningless! But those things

that God has for you to do, they're the

building blocks. Sometimes those things

specifically are going to create the

path that He wants to lead you on. Like

for instance I worked at a college for

several years and while I was working

there I was like, "God, why am I not on the

mission field? Like send me to China! Like

I'll go wherever!" But He kept me there,

and I was just faithful with what He would

put in my hands to do. And turns out

while he was at that college, I learned

how to use iMovie and how to shoot and

edit videos. It wasn't like I became

amazing at it, but I got the basic skills,

and I had no idea that someday I would

start a YouTube channel and need to know

that -- but God knew. And other times just

the fact that you're being faithful with

where God's put you, that is doing

something in your heart -- like that's

preparing your heart for where God wants

to take you. One time I was meeting with

the women's pastor at a church called

Gateway in Texas and she said as long as

you're doing what God has put in your

hands to do, you cannot miss your destiny.

And I love that! Like I think that's so

true. Just be faithful with what God has

given you to do right now. Tip number

three, celebrate where God has you. Find

the things that you enjoy about this

season and really latch onto those

things. So when I was single, one of the

things I latched onto was the idea of

Father-daughter time. I latched onto the

ministry I was able to do. I latched onto

the friendships I was able to make,

and just celebrated the gifts God had

given.

And for me that helps me just enjoy it

the season of waiting so much more. Like

going back to my youtube channel, I was

able to kind of look past the comparison and

say, "Okay that's not where God has me

right now. God has them there and I will

celebrate with them where God has them,

but here's where He has me." And I love

where He has me! I love making these

videos, I love my girls -- and just

celebrating the gifts God has given me.

And it just fills me with so much joy!

And instead of feeling discouraged I

just feel like, "Yes let's do another

video!" You know? Which is good cuz the

past month I've been filming like crazy

amounts of videos so I'd have them all

filmed for while I was in Europe. But I

just loved it because it was like,

"Let's do some more!" -- because I was celebrating

where God had me. Number four, trust that

God's purpose and timing are perfect. We

don't always understand why things are

taking so long, but He knows what He's

doing, and at the end of the day, the

dream in your heart is just one building

block in His kingdom, and He knows how

it fits and where it fits and when He

wants to put it in place. Sometimes it's

because He's getting us ready; sometimes

it has nothing to do with us and it's

just the timing just isn't right yet in

His plan -- in His perfect plan. Just trust

Him that there's all this stuff you

don't see that's going on in the

background. But in the right time He will fulfill the dreams that He has put in

your heart in the way that He wants to.

And it reminds me of when Jesus said to

His disciples, "Right now you don't know

what I'm doing, but someday you will

understand." And I think this is tough

with singleness because it's so easy to

be like, "Well is there something wrong

with me? I need to like fix myself!

Like maybe God's getting my

husband ready..." and you just, you just

don't always know, and you really can't

figure it out. Like ask God, "Lord is there

something in my heart that's getting in

the way of me walking into the dreams

you have for me? Like are there issues

that you want to work through first?" And

be open to what He puts in your heart.

You can even ask people you trust, adults

that you trust, that same question. But at

the end of the day, if He doesn't put

something in your heart, then just trust

Him that He knows what He's doing even

when we don't." And lastly but most

importantly, number five, is fall more in

love with Jesus.

Because really the goal of every single

season in life is one in the same. The

main and primary goal of waiting is not

to learn something -- although that's one

goal. The main primary goal of getting

married is not to be married. The main

primary goal of doing ministry is not to

do ministry. Like the main goal of every

season is to come closer to God. And so

as long as you're coming closer to God,

you are not missing anything. And there's

something about the waiting seasons in

life that kind of pushes us closer to

God. So take advantage of that. Let it

push you straight into the arms of God!

Being single for most of my 20s kept me

on my knees. That discomfort kept me just

running to God. So use this waiting time

to push you closer to Him. Something I

like to pray is, "God give me a hunger and

a desire for you so that I don't want to

do anything or go anywhere or move out

of this waiting season unless if you are

leading me, because I just want to be

with you." So girls, what are you doing

while you're waiting, and what helps you

in the waiting?" Comment below -- I'd love to

hear! And now for our brief overview --

here's what's happening in May. So this

weekend my husband and I are going to

Europe for three weeks and I'm so

excited! I actually start shaking

sometimes if I think about it too much,

that's how excited I am! That's like

adrenaline pumping through my body! So

distracted with excitement right now.

And we're gonna go to Germany, France,

Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia,

Bosnia, Serbia, and Greece. You can check

out my Instagram -- I'm going to try to

post every day at least once, so you can

follow along. And my instagram is TiffanyDawnIQB.

So we will be gone for three

weeks and I've recorded videos for you

girls -- I have them all scheduled for the

whole month of May. That's how much

I love you all. And we've got some really

cool ones coming up -- like next week in

honor of Mother's Day, we're doing a

video called "Dear Daughter," which is

several moms sharing their advice. It's going

to be amazing. And then the week after

that we have a video about long-distance

relationships. I went and interviewed

four different couples and asked them some

other questions that you girls have

written in. And then we've got a whole

bunch of other awesome ones, like easy

summer makeup routines, and some meal

ideas, and other fun stuff. And on Friday

you get to come with me as I'm packing

my suitcase. I'm gonna try on some

different outfits that i'm thinking of

taking and you can kind of give me

feedback on which ones I should

definitely bring and which ones you're

like, "Meh, either way." Thank you for joining

me! Love you girls. Bye!

The Legendary Starfy [Part 1]: Diving Right In - Duration: 16:43.

Hmm, this was an unexpected choice, wasn't it?

Well, in case you couldn't tell, this is what I'll be playing next.

I'm also trying out something different with my commentary, so we'll see how that turns out.

There've been major refactorings going on behind the scenes.

But that's not important now, so let's just start the game!

...And, yeah. Get ready for a lot of this in cutscenes.

Oh, I forgot about all the puns this game has...

He seems...oddly happy about that.

And they somehow remained in the shadows the whole time.

Moe. That's such a plain name for a main character. I like it.

It's also a good thing everyone can vocalize images, too.

Well, that's one way to start the story...

(Groans)

Well, this is how our adventure starts off.

...And if you can't really tell what's going on, the screens aren't permanently like this...

...Just whenever something's happening on both screens.

See? It's over now.

One of the things I remember about this game was that the characters look like plushes.

...It...kinda weirded me out when I first played.

Anyway, yes, the bottom screen is useless in the beginning.

But I'm still keeping it on here for now, because why not?

"Starfy style" meaning totally random.

That's another thing I remember. It's pretty dumb.

Anyway, yes, there are collectables, too.

...And, yes, I will be finding them all.

And yes, this game isn't purely underwater, either.

Oh, there's one last thing...

There we go.

Good. Great start.

Yup. That's it. Game over. Thanks for your $40.

Whoops. Never mind.

What are...? Actually, never mind.

Anyway, that's it. That's the first level.

But I'm not going to do one level per video.

I'm going to try to keep it to 15 minutes, which means between two or three levels per video.

Anyway, next level!

Dude, you have claws... Coddies look like piranhas, so they might have teeth...

And you're gonna ask the starfish for help?

Okay, you're just making this too easy for me now.

Anyway, tutorials!

Spin! That-- That's it!

Almost had a heart attack from all that intensity.

Anything else around here?

Is it? Is it, Herman?

Okay... That got personal fast.

And they caught by a bubble...predator anyway.

So, fun fact, when I was

deciding what game I should play

on this channel first, it came

down to Pomon Ranger: Shadows

of Almia and this game,

mainly because of how much

I remember since I last played

them (which, besides story and

controls, sorta, is almost

nothing).

I ended up choosing

Shadows of Almia because

I had wanted to play it more.

But now I've been wanting to

play this game for a quite a

while, and, now that I feel

slightly more experienced with

this video-game-playing-on-the-

internet-with-commentary thing,

I think I could play through

this game without too much of

a hitch.

Anyway, secret bonus area!

Yeah, no time limit or anything. Just find the pearls.

Yup, each level has a secret that unlocks another secret.

This game has a lot of them.

Some are well hidden, some are...not.

Uggghhh, morals...

But, really, this is probably the best bottom screen interface that you'll get.

...Both because of its practicality and its...

...Implications.

Yes. This is a real thing in a video game.

And, the sniffer screen is the reason why I'm showing the bottom screen the whole time.

So it doesn't seem like I magically know what room a chest is in.

Oh, yeah, there's also a weird thing about health, too...

You'll restore one heart for every 5 pearls you collect.

So health is never really a concern outside of boss battles.

That's not magic. Cheques, though... That's real magic paper.

Well, with that...

That'll be it for this episode.

Thanks for watching.

The Real Reason You Don't Hear From Jon Stewart Anymore - Duration: 6:07.

Jon Stewart left The Daily Show in August 2015, following a highly influential 16-year

tenure.

His unique brand of satire was equal parts intelligent, hilarious, thoughtful, and silly…

"Mwah!

Mwah!

Mwah!"

Under his leadership, the show won a multitude of awards and launched the mainstream careers

of today's top political satirists — including Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Samantha Bee,

Larry Wilmore, and Trevor Noah, among others.

But while his protégés have been killing it, Stewart's voice has been sorely missed.

What exactly has he been doing since he left the spotlight?

We bought a farm

Stewart and his wife Tracey, a licensed vet technician, bought a 12-acre farm in Middletown,

New Jersey, in 2013.

Two years later, they announced the property would become a sanctuary for sick and abused

animals.

The couple appeared on CBS This Morning in October 2015 to share an exclusive look at

the farm, and Jon seemed perfectly content with his new lifestyle.

With his new schedule, he's able to take the kids to school, maintain the farm, and write.

"It's not like I don't feel productive or creative.

But I feel like my life is — now it's, rather than just painting with three colors, I get

to get the whole thing now."

Back in action

After laying low for a few months, Stewart showed up at his old stomping grounds in December

2015 to fight for 9/11 first responders.

That year, the Zadroga Act was set to expire.

The bill covers medical and other expenses for a long list of conditions that many first

responders faced after the attacks.

Stewart went to Washington D.C. to confront those legislators who did not support the

re-authorization bill.

He encouraged viewers to flood their social media accounts with messages that included

the hashtag #WorstResponders to put the pressure on.

And it worked.

After a long fight, Stewart's efforts raised the bill's visibility significantly, and the

legislation passed unanimously.

Jon weighs in

It wasn't until May 2016 that Stewart made another rare public appearance, this time

on David Axelrod's podcast The Axe Files, where he shared his first post-retirement

thoughts on the presidential election.

His jokey questioning of Donald Trump's eligibility to run made headlines around the globe…

"He has the physical countenance of a man, and a baby's temperament and hands."

However, Stewart also called out Hillary Clinton's lack of authenticity ...

"You know, I imagine to be a very bright woman without the courage of her convictions, because

I'm not even sure what they are."

He also reprimanded the media …

"What we see in the press is they're covering the campaign, but they're not covering veracity."

Colbert rapport

During the Republican National Convention in July 2016, Stewart gave fans a taste of

what his election coverage would have looked like had he stayed on The Daily Show.

His first appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert came nearly a year after he

left the show, and featured a skit in which Colbert sought out Stewart's help for his

election coverage.

The Late Show host traveled to Stewart's fictional cabin in the woods to inform him who was running

for president …

"It's Donald Trump."

"What?!"

"Yep,"

"The guy from The Apprentice?"

"Yep."

A few days later, Stewart took over Colbert's desk to deliver a biting critique of Trump

voters:

"You feel that you're this country's rightful owners.

There's only one problem with that: This country isn't yours.

You don't own it.

It never was."

Words of wisdom

Colbert wasn't the only former Daily Show correspondent Stewart visited in the summer

of 2016.

He also stopped by during Larry Wilmore's final episode of The Nightly Show, for which

Stewart was an Executive Producer.

The Nightly Show was canceled by Comedy Central just prior to the final leg of the election.

Stewart dropped in to give his old friend and colleague some advice:

"A very wise man said to me, 'Do not confuse cancellation with failure.'"

"You started a conversation that was not on television when you began …"

"… and what you don't realize is that you walk out of this room, and that conversation

doesn't end."

Stewart wrapped up his heartfelt unplanned appearance by telling Wilmore that he loved

him.

Awwww.

Horsin' around

In June of 2016, Stewart made his first appearance on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.

The former Daily Show correspondent teased him about the skewed public perception of

his animal sanctuary work.

"I'm pretty sure I heard that you left show business to go and professionally massage

livestock."

Later, Stewart interviewed a horse:

"You're white — are you voting for Trump?"

A look back

The Daily Show (The Book) was released in November 2016 — 16 months after Stewart

left the show.

Written by journalist Chris Smith, the book is a comprehensive oral history of the show

during Stewart's tenure.

Stewart contributed the foreword, writing ...

"Somewhere along the line the process of making that show became the mechanism by which I

worked through my own emotions about the world.

That's hard to replace."

Aftermath

In Stewart's first post-election interview with CBS This Morning, he said Donald Trump

"disqualified himself at numerous points," but cautioned people to not treat Trump's

supporters as a monolith.

"In the liberal community, you hate this idea of creating people as a monolith.

Don't look at Muslims as a monolith."

"But everybody who voted for Trump is a monolith, is a racist?

That hypocrisy is also real in our country."

Stewart also questioned the media for not interrogating Trump about his famous campaign

slogan:

"Nobody asked Donald Trump what makes America great?"

Executive disorder

Stewart made a surprise appearance on the Late Show in January 2017, during which he

satirized the newly-inaugurated President Trump by sporting a giant tie and a less-than-flattering

hairpiece.

But he closed with a stirring message, saying: "If we do not allow Donald Trump to exhaust

our fight and somehow come through this presidency calamity-less and constitutionally partially

intact …"

"... then I, Donald J. Trump, will have demonstrated the greatness of America.

Just not the way I thought I was gonna."

In another appearance in late February, Stewart suggested a way for the media to cope with

its "break-up" with President Trump:

"Take up a hobby.

I recommend journalism."

A look ahead

Variety confirmed in the summer of 2016 that Stewart signed a four-year production deal

with HBO.

The upcoming "multi-platform project" will be "an animated parody of a cable news network

with an Onion-like portal."

According to Decider, Stewart's staff began testing out material in New Jersey in March.

The short-form digital content is expected to launch on HBO Go and other platforms before

the end of 2017.

So if you're missing Jon, comic relief is on the way.
