I Drank a Giant Slurpee! (BYO Cup Day & Arts Festival) - Duration: 3:35.

Hey guys, it's Sarah here from sarahntripity

and welcome to my vlog.

Today I'm going to Reston, Virginia

to celebrate the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival.

It's apparently a very competitive festival for artists,

where about 800- 1000 different artists apply to be in it,

and only about 200 make it.

I've personally never gone to it,

but I'm very excited to see some really cool artwork.

So if you want to learn more, or see what it is

it was really, really nice

and I loved it.

There were hundreds and hundreds of amazing artists there.

I didn't really take too much video though,

just out of respect for them.

I don't personally feel that you should take too many photos and videos of other people's artwork,

just as a plagiarism thing, and also out of respect for the artist.

But definitely some amazing artwork.

You guys should definitely go next year.

It's really, really great.

I think right now we're going to head off either

to get some lunch or we're going to go to 7-Eleven.

Because it's Bring Your Own Cup Day.

So I don't know what exactly we're going to do,

but I'll keep you guys posted.

And I'll give you an example: if the college would happen to close for a weather-related

emergency or a building-related emergency, we would send out -- would come from this

department -- a WolfPack Alert to all those subscribers indicating that the college is

closed, and in most cases the reason will be given.

The alert will go out -- if you're enrolled -- on your smartphone.

We have a text-only version as well which will send you a text.

It will go to everyone that has a .edu.

It will be sent to their email.

It also is displayed on our webpage.

It is displayed on the college's webpage.

It is sent out in our Twitter feed.

It is sent out on our Facebook page to include the college's Facebook page.

And we also have it sent to all the public address monitors.

So it's one single message; hits about one hundred thousand accounts.

We use an opt-in model which basically means that you have to physically go in there and

tell your phone or tell your smartphone that you want to receive the information.

Some colleges, universities use the opt-out model, which means as soon as you register

for classes, you are automatically opted-in their emergency notification system.

We chose not to do that for a number of reasons.

The majority of campuses do it the way we do it, but most of the larger universities,

four-year-type universities will do an opt-out model, which basically means, you need

to go in and say, "I don't want the information."

We have an opt-in, which means you have to go in and say, "I do want the information."

You have to actually go into the webpage -- our webpage -- and click on the WolfPack Alerts.

And from there it will give you very easy instructions to either sign up with your smartphone,

which is an app, or if you don't have a smartphone, and you just want to receive the text version,

there is a text-only requirement set of procedures that you can follow.

It's very quick; it's very easy.

It takes less than two minutes to do.

Emails are automatic.

Any .edu extension is owned by the college, and that information is pushed to anything

that says .edu.

That can't be stopped.

How To Apply Beard Oil To The Moustache - Duration: 2:50.

Today I'm going to be showing you guys how to put beard oil into your moustache.

Today I'm using Can You Handlebar's Devotion Beard Oil.

This oil comes with a dripper which is easy to use in the moustache.

I like it a little bit better than the ones that don't have a dripper because I can

place this wherever I like.

How I do it is, I fill up the vial and I like to run the oil along the top line of the moustache.

Get a bunch in there and then I'll work it through.

Just a few drops, see how you can see it beading up on the moustache there?

That's what I like.

Close it [the oil] up for a little bit.

Then you take your fingers – I take my index finger and thumb – and you work the oil

in.

When I work it in I'm kind of pushing my moustache away from my mouth.

This makes eating a little easier.

With the excess oil from the top, I just run it all the way through the moustache.

You'll be able to tell because you'll get that sheen on the moustache.

It will look shiny and wet and that's what you want.

You'll know then that you've covered all the hairs in the moustache.

Let's go for the other side.

Notice that I don't put any oil at the very tip of my moustache because I put it all up

top and I'm working it through all the way to the ends.

And that's how I apply beard oil to my moustache!

So I was in the sophomore year of my

college experience, it was Christmas

break, and my sister sees a package in

the mail from a certain warehouse in

Missoula, Montana. It was a poster

that said, "Keep Calm and DFTBA," and it was for her

best friend for Christmas.

And I was like, "What is DFTBA?" She's just like,

"It means don't forget to be awesome."

"That's cool, but why???" So she showed

me Hank's Jokes video and then a couple of

John's videos and then a couple of Hank's

videos, and I enjoyed them. It took me a few

switches to realize that they were not

the same person. I'm not so observant but,

there you go! I made a note to check into

them because I really enjoyed their

videos and I was like, "How many? How long

have they been doing this? Five years?

Okay, yeah! I want to see what's going on

here!" With Christmas break over, I go back

to college, and during my homework breaks

and then late into the night, I would

watch their videos and started just

watching them from the beginning, because

they were starting to make references

that I had no clue what they were

talking about and I needed to figure it

out from the beginning. I went back

five years and I don't know how people

watch all of their videos. It's been 10

years. That's a lot of videos! Anyways, it

was a bit of a crazy time in my life. I

was still trying to figure out who I was

and where I fit into the world and how

that worked, and here come along two

brothers who have such an interesting

perspective on life. They understand that

the world is complex, we need to

imagine others complexly, and that's

important and I just really enjoyed how

much they tried to live their life in

accordance to their values. And their

perspective on life maybe wasn't

optimistic, but it was definitely full of

hope, and I needed that hope and I was so

happy to have it. I remember when I was

watching through their videos, I was so

sad that I hadn't discovered them sooner.

I had just missed Project for Awesome

2011 and I was so bummed about that. I

was bummed that there were no more

response video and there were no more

scavenger hunts, and

no more birthday collaboration

extravaganzas. That's okay, because I

found my people now. And I remember quite

when I started reading the comments and I

didn't read them often, but enough to

realize that nerdfighteria was a fun

community of people. When I went to other

areas of the Internet, I realized how great

Nerdfighteria was when I realized

that not all comment sections were full

of awesome. Every time that the

Vlogbrothers talked about how Nerdfighteria

blew away their expectations and

they should have learned by now not to

underestimate Nerdfighteria, I was like, "I

wanna be a part of this. I want to be a

part of this community." So I started

making videos on my own. I wanted to

create something and give back a little

bit after consuming so much media from

them. I was like, "I need to create

something, so I'm gonna make a video and

let my voice be heard." As I was

starting to make videos, I started

getting comments from this one gal in

particular, who kind of discovered my

channel and invited me to look at hers, so

it did. And really love them. Her name's

Liz, AKA high-waisted pantaloons, and I'm

pretty sure hers was the first video of

this channel, which is great! Through

her, I started discovering more of the

small youtuber community and realized

that these people, like their videos, are

kind of some of my favorite. Sometimes

more than like the high production

stuff. Still have never been to a

conference and that makes me sad, but we

will get there eventually. I found my

smaller communities that is a small

little area of Nerdfighteria that I can

be a part of and I love it. Thank you for

letting me share my voice and my story

and then I just went the gamejolt today

to find like yeah you know I was bored

so I was looking at games than this this

was like really popular so here goes um

in the description it's something like

a known thing and we have to end it or

something like that so it's it's got a

really cool thing behind it so what is

this place

see was just the juice of God's future

is what we call it the more the merrier

doesn't apply when there are this many

people this Factory is taking weight off

don't contribute to society to put it

simply or rather you do drink up o

interworld let's do this see what this

living if everyone would rather die and

you're content with what you've done

here oh okay so we basically here we've

gotten a really good outcome and a

really bad outcome so far and that's

that's going to be it for mine this is

really cool this is a really creative

game I liked it the juice of God's

future so you're basically you're given

people to death the juice to like thin

out whoever you feel like what an impact

society in a positive way and you get to

see what the outcome is which is a good

it was a cool idea like it wouldn't be a

good idea if I happened in real life I'm

very anti like this but it's crazy it's

hello dear friends of the folded sheet

I'm tavin from tavin's origami instructions

and today I'll show you how

to fold a filing sleeve for CD's and all

you need is a hole punch a piece of

paper and CD to fold around

here's the hole punch; ordinary one

depending on standard you're using the

CD will fold around in a bit and the

sheet of paper I'm using a standard A4

sheet with American letter format will

work just as fine and you start by

folding it in half on the long edge make

sure the corners meet nicely and then

just crease so now we need the CD we put

it right into the center at the bottom

and then like about a finger wide we'll

fold up a bit just like that and that is

where our CD will sit in in a bit like

this so now we turn the whole other

writers around and fold it in 45-degree

angle like this so those lines here are

parallel

we will just fold as tight and it goes

without moving the CD about the corner

is where the city is hitting the paper

both signs then turn it around and

create flaps on the left and the right

side and fitting around the CD if you're

doing it a little more snugly the CD

will not move about as much inside of

the case but it will be harder to get it

in and out and close the case so that is

up to you so I think it should have a

little whiggling space to move so you can

close it easily and so you fold those

two flaps inside just like that now you

turn it around and fold down the bottom

that will be the top of the lid of the

case also fold the corners then turn

around one last time and just fold the

corners in so they fit around like this

and open it up again

and you see those have a little overlap

that's just fine and fold in the corner

this is where the top will be closed

then fold it up again and this is now

lock mechanism off your CD case

open it up a little bit push it in and

now you're done that is a CD case and so

we can put it in our folder we'll just

punch holes in if you want to be careful

you can first take out the CD but it

should just be centered and will fit

perfectly

that is your filable CD case neat and

ready whenever you need to go to you

know have archived the files in that

folder in a digital format or you just

have a bunch of CDs going about loosely

and if you want to have it more loosely
