Hey beauties!!! I am so happy to be back again

with a type of video that I know is the kind you like a lot!

before we get started, specially if you are new around here

I want to make it clear that

I am just sharing my experiences

as a mexican from Sonora

that came to live to Spain, Andalucia

to Jerez de la Frontera

everything that I tell you in my videos

are just my perceptions

you don't have to necessarily agree with me

these videos are not about what's correct

nor who is better than whom

it is just about learning and sharing

with what experiences we could find ourselves

maybe when going to a cafeteria

or when meeting someone

just things of everyday life

I will end this video with greetings for you guys!

so let's get started with this video and stay with me until the end

let's start with what is most obvious

if you are from Latin America or Spain

if you are learning spanish maybe it is not so obvious for you

in fact the idea of this video came to me when

I was talking with a friend from Germany

and he said to me "quince"

I said to him

you sound so Spanish

he didn't quite get what I was talking about

I guess he just learned spanish language

without realizing there is a difference in pronounciation from Spain and Latin America

in Spain the letters "z" ( before all vowels) and "c" (just before e and i)

are pronounced as the "th" sound in english

while in Mexico and I think all Latin America in general

we pronounce all with the "s" sound

we don't differentiate the z,c and s sounds

in fact living in Spain I learned of what seseo means

and ceceo

when you differentiate it means you pronounce differently the z,c and s

seseo means that you pronounce z,c and s the same way, with the s sound

and ceceo means you pronounce everything with the th english sound

another important difference is the use of "vosotros"

in Mexico we don't use "vosotros"

we use "ustedes"

for example, instead of asking "vosotros vais?"

we ask "ustedes van?"

another notorious difference is the use of past tense

in Mexico we use more the simple past tense

while in Spain it is more used the compound past tense

for example in Spain "hoy no he desayunado"

in Mexico we would say "hoy no desayuné"

I would use in Mexico the compound past tense to say something that I haven't done YET

for example, "hoy no he desayunado, pero ahorita ya voy a desayunar"

while in Spain "hoy no he desayunado" is definite

it is kind of complicated to explain, but I'm trying my best

another difference ...some alphabet letters

for example, the letter "doble u", as we call it in Mexico

in Spain it is called "uve doble"

in Venezuela, my friend Gibi told me it is called "doble ve"

the brand BMW in Mexico "be eme doble u"

in Spain "be eme uve"

as well as the letters v and b in Mexico we could refer to them as the small and the big "be"

another difference is "leismo"

in Spain it is very common

for example, "a Álvaro no LE vi ayer"

and in Mexico you probably wouldn't hear that

we would say "a Álvaro no LO vi ayer"

finally, another difference is the vocabulary

there are many words that have different meaning

from one country to another

stuff that we call differently

I have done some videos about it

and I will continue doing more

I don't know if you have already seen it

I remember a friend from France

he was living in Hermosillo (student exchange) for over a year

and obviously the spanish language he learned is the one we speak in Hermosillo

when he finished the student exchange program he went back to France

and after that he went to Barcelona for an internship

and I went to Barcelona to visit him

he told me that sometimes he didn't understand very well because

it was very different what he had learned from how people in Barcelona spoke

Macro At Wrong Angles: You Keep Shooting with Bryan Peterson - Duration: 2:07.

There's not a week that goes by that

I don't get at least

several emails from photographers

who have began to explore

the world of macro photography

and they're expressing

the often frustration they feel

when it comes to getting

exacting sharpness

edge-to-edge,

top-to-bottom,

in the overall composition.

What's the solution

for that kind of frustration?

More often than not

the problem can be attributed

to the angle of view

that one is to the subject,

as I have been suggesting,

literally, for years.

I can't stress enough the importance

of the camera's film plane,

or in this case

the sensor's plane

to the subject.

It needs to be

as parallel as possible.

In this instance here,

as you can see,

I'm shooting a wonderful

abstract of what could be determined

as the letter 'Z',

or the letter 'N'

depending upon how it's viewed.

Here's both a horizontal

and vertical version

up on the screen

that you can see.

As you look at that image,

notice the exacting sharpness

edge-to-edge,

side-to-side,

top-to-bottom.

That's not a mistake.

That's a deliberate

edge-to-edge sharpness.

That deliberate sharpness

is achieved by choosing

deliberately a point of view

that finds this to be parallel

to the subject itself.

Watch what happens.

This is what

a lot of photographers do.

I've seen them do this

in my workshops.

They'll come in at an

angle to these abstracts,

for example,

and

as we line this shot up,

the same exact subject,

same exact aperture.

Take a look at that photograph.

Compare that

to the image where it's parallel

to the film plane.

So it's pretty obvious,

I hope,

that to make sharpness

edge-to-edge,

top-to-bottom,

try, I can't stress this enough,

to be as parallel as possible

to your subject

when shooting macro.

Simple tip but it works.

Should you do Intermittent Fasting?

Just watch this video till the end and you will get a clear cut answer as I go through

the advantages and disadvantages of intermittent fasting.

Welcome to Fit Tuber.

First of all, intermittent fasting is not a diet but a dieting pattern in which there

is a window where you can eat and there is a window where you have to fast.

Now, there are a lot of versions of intermittent fasting but the most common and the practiced

one is the 16-8 method.

In this method, you have to keep a fast for 16 hours where ideally you should not consume

anything except water.

But then you are allowed to have green tea and black coffee without sugar.

And then comes the 8 hour window where you have to eat.

Now, in these 8 hours you have to finish your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Now, you are free to choose the 8 hour window.

It could be from 9 AM to 5 PM in the evening.

Or it could be 12 Noon to 8 PM in the night.

Or 2 PM to 10 PM at night.

So, it is totally upto you as per your convenience.

Now, how does intermittent fasting work?

Actually, Intermittent fasting acts as a shock for your body.

When you do intermittent fasting, there are a lot of hormonal changes in the body which

help you effectively lose body fat.

Now, before we discuss what actually we should eat in intermittent fasting, let's talk

about it's advantages and disadvantages.

Well, there are a lot of advantages of intermittent fasting.

First is that, it drops the insulin level.

Let's understand it this way.

When you are fasting for about 16 hours, there is nothing inside your body.

So, your body starts utilising your fat cells for energy.

So, this is how you start reducing your fat.

Second is that IF is known to increase your human growth hormone by as much as 5 times.

Now, there are a lot of advantages of a high Human Growth Hormone.

The most important of all is that it increases your metabolism.

And the higher metabolism you will have, the faster will be your fat loss process.

Now, when you are fasting in IF, your body tends to increase the cellular repair processes.

For example, the removal of the waste from the cells is increased.

Then studies in animals have shown that the IF increases the lifespan.

There have been a lot of studies done on various organisms especially rats and each study has

shown a successful increase in lifespan.

But the sad part is that there have been no studies done of humans as yet.

However, the scientists feel that the humans would also get the same benefit.

Now, because there are a lot of positive hormonal changes which are taking place in IF like

decrease in insulin and increase in HGH, studies have shown that it has long term health benefits.

So, it can keep you away from diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's

disease and even cancer.

Most importantly, in IF you are eating in an 8 hour window.

So, there are more chances of you to stay in calorie deficit.

Now, if you are looking to cut some fat from your body the most important thing that you

should do is stay on calorie deficit.

This is where IF is very useful.

So you can easily go below your maintenance calories and lose a lot of weight.

Now we have discussed the advantages that how great IF is.

Now let's discuss some disadvantages.

First of all you have to keep a fast for 16 hours.

Are you prepared for it?

Because there are a group of people who find it very difficult to get adapt to it.

And then there are a group of people who say the it takes hardly 2-3 days to get used to

it.

So this depends on you.

Now, because you are allowed to have black coffee in your fasting period, people tend

to go overboard with it.

This in the long run can be harmful.

One major problem which people generally face in IF is that they get obsessed with food.

All those 16 hours of fasting period, some people tend to think about food all the time.

Now, another side effect of IF could be lack of sleep.

Now, this could be because of high intake of black coffee or hunger.

Now overeating is also one problem which people generally face in IF.

You have to understand one thing that in that 8 hours of window you have to stay in calorie

deficit.

Just because you had a 16 hours of fast, it does not give you a license to eat as much

as you can in that 8 hour window.

I would suggest you to track your macros for at least a few days.

After some days you will get an idea and then you would know that you are staying in calorie

deficit.

Also, it is better to keep tracking your weight regularly.

Then some people may also face fatigue or lower energy levels.

But all these disadvantages depend upon person to person.

There are people who say that IF has completely changed their life.

Now, my last word is that IF is a completely safe way of eating.

Now, if you are able to practice it for long term.

Long term is important here.

Then go for it.

Because there is no point in doing IF for 2 weeks.

Your weight will drop and then you come back to the same position.

So do what you enjoy and what best fits in your lifestyle and preferences.

Now let's talk briefly how you should eat in IF.

My suggesting to you is that break your fast with fruits.

Then in the 8 hour window, have 3-4 meals.

Keep your meals high in protein, well balanced with complex carbohydrates, healthy fats,

vitamins and minerals.

Now, I have talked about each macronutrient and their major food sources in detail in

Please do not take the liberty of eating unhealthy food in that 8 hour window.

Because you can eat unhealthy food and still stay in calorie deficit but it will impact

your health in the long run.

Why swim when you can surf? | DW English - Duration: 3:23.

Kwezi Qika is one of the best longboard surfers in the world.

In fact, he could almost be number one - if you take his story into account.

Kwezi learned to surf in the turbulent Atlantic Ocean - even before he could swim.

„I really wanted to try the sport for a long time but obviously I couldn't swim,

so I had to prolong my time of surfing.

It was very, very scary when I eventually overcame the fear of not knowing how to swim

and stepping up and going in the water and being in the water

where I can't swim. But I was so dedicated that I looked past that."

Longboard surfing is often seen as more "artistic and graceful" than the shortboard version.

As a young boy Kwezi used to sit on the beach and watch the surfers.

Back then surfing was seen as more of a "white person's" domain.

But that didn't stop Kwezi.

Nor did his lack of experience in the water:

"I sat on the beach watching them and I

was so fascinated by these nice turns they were doing and they would come out and talk

about how nice turns they had and I felt so out.

So then I told them listen I actually want to try and he said really and gave me my first

board and suit and showed me the basics on the beach and I was hooked."

That was when Kwezi was 9 years old.

Ever since then he and his surfboard have been inseparable.

He actually surfed for three years before he even learned to swim - all he had to depend

on to save him out in the water was his board.

But it wasn't just any old board…

"I was lucky, my mom actually bought me a board which cost her, I think, close to

800 Rand but she managed to get that for me and that board was my life."

That was a lot of money in the poverty-stricken Ocean View Township back then.

But it was money well-invested.

Gang crime is rife there and many of Kwezi's old friends spent time in jail.

"It was a good thing because it kept him busy all the time.

Away from the streets and from the bad things."

Kwezi has become a popular trainer for affluent

would-be surfers along Cape Town's beaches.

He also has sponsoring contracts.

But his heart is with Ocean View, and the kids there who attend his free lessons:

"Go to school, surf, cause basically when you surf you get yourself tired you know.

Just go out there and it's just you and the ocean, you understand, nothing, nothing

is stopping you there.

That's when you are free you know, it's like your office and I think that was my call.

Actually even if you're staying in the hood doesn't mean your dreams are crushed you

know, there's still potential, anything is possible, you just got to have a vision"

"To be like Kwezi, to stay out of trouble and do stuff of your own and go on with your life.

Don't do wrong stuff…"

That is Kwezi's most important message to young people.

With donated boards and wetsuits, Kwezi takes the kids down the same path that he once took

on his way to becoming one of Africa's first world-class surfers.

that CNN reports the fired FBI director has a story to tell, adding that he would be scared

if he were President Trump.

As The Hill reports, Benjamin Wittes, who describes himself as a Comey confidant, said

I HEARD SOMEONE DO A FLAG FOLDING SPEECH AND

I LISTENED TO IT AND I ENJOYED IT BUT IT JUST

SEEMED LIKE IT WAS MISSING SOMETHING.

SO I TALKED TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OF HONOR

GUARD AND I TOLD THEM, "SIR, COULD I TAKE

THE SCRIPT THAT WE CURRENTLY USE AND

MAYBE MODIFY IT A LITTLE OR CHANGE IT A LITTLE?"

AND HE SAYS, "YEAH, SURE, WHY NOT?"

SO I GOT THE SCRIPT, I TOOK IT HOME AND I LOOKED

AT IT AND I STARTED CHANGING THINGS IN IT.

AND THE FUNDAMENTAL ASPECTS OF LIBERTY IS THAT

MAN CANNOT GOVERN HIMSELF, HE HAS TO BE RESPONSIBLE

TO GREATER POWER.

AND THAT RELIGION HAS TO BE PART OF OUR GOVERNMENT

YET THE SCRIPT SAID NOTHING OF RELIGION SO

AFTER OSCAR RODRIGUEZ RETIRED,

THE AIR FORCE ADOPTED AN OFFICIAL SCRIPT FOR THE

FLAG FOLDING CEREMONY, ELIMINATING VARIANTS.

IN APRIL THIS YEAR WHEN OSCAR WAS INVITED BY

SOMEBODY WHO HAD SEEN HIM DO THIS SPEECH AT ANOTHER

MASTER SERGEANT CHUCK ROBERSON COMES UP TO ME

AND SHAKES MY HAND AND SAYS, "OSCAR,

IT WOULD BE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE HONOR IF

YOU COULD DO THIS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY."

AND OSCAR SAID OF COURSE, IT WOULD BE MY PRIVILEGE

TO DO THAT.

WHEN I WAS INVITED TO THIS RETIREMENT CEREMONY,

I WAS NO LONGER PART OF THE MILITARY.

I WAS RETIRED; I WAS A CITIZEN,

JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE.

THOUGH IT DIFFERED FROM THE NEWLY-ADOPTED OFFICIAL

VERSION, OSCAR RODRIGUEZ AGREED AS A PRIVATE CITIZEN,

TO GIVE HIS VERSION OF THE FLAG-FOLDING SPEECH,

AS HIS RETIRING FRIEND HAD REQUESTED.

THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF THAT UNIT,

WHEN HE HEARD THAT OSCAR WAS GOING TO BE GIVING

THIS SPEECH AND A SPEECH THAT AGAIN MAKES REFERENCE

TO THE WORD GOD ABOUT 6 TIMES, HE SAID,

THAT'S NOT AN APPROVED OR AN AUTHORIZED AIR FORCE SPEECH,

AND HE SAID HE'S NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE THAT SPEECH.

AND THE RETIREE SAID, BUT IT'S MY RETIREMENT,

THIS IS WHAT I'M PERSONALLY REQUESTING,

THIS IS WHAT I WANT FOR MY,

THIS IS MY SPECIAL DAY, AND SO HE TOLD OSCAR

I WOULD LIKE YOU TO GIVE THAT SPEECH.

AND THE RETIREMENT WENT VERY WELL.

EVERYTHING WENT ACCORDING TO PLAN AND THEN THE FLAG

COMES OUT IN A VERY CEREMONIOUS AND SOLEMN WAY

I GET UP, I TAKE MY POSITION AND THIS

GENTLEMAN, THIS AIRMAN COMES UP TO ME AND HE

SAYS, "ARE YOU REALLY GONNA DO THIS?

ARE YOU REALLY GONNA DO THIS?"

I WAS SHOCKED.

SO AS SOON AS I HEARD THE CUE OF A CERTAIN NOTE IN

THE MUSIC, IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO SPEAK.

AND I LAUNCHED OFF INTO THAT RETIREMENT SCRIPT.

OUR FLAG IS KNOWN AS THE STARS AND STRIPES,

A UNION CONSISTS OF WHITE STARS.

AND THEN ADDITIONAL AIRMEN CAME AND THEY GRABBED ME

AND THEY PULLED ME AND THEY PUSHED ME OUT OF THAT

AUDITORIUM.

AND TOGETHER THEY STAND UNITED INDIVISIBLE.

THESE MEN HAD JUST BETRAYED ME,

HAD BETRAYED THEIR OATH, HAD BETRAYED THE UNITED

STATES OF AMERICA BECAUSE REGARDLESS OF THE

INDIVIDUAL THAT I AM, I HAVE NEVER FORFEITED

MY RIGHTS TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH,

FREEDOM OF RELIGION OR FREEDOM OF THE PRESS.

THOSE ARE NATURAL LAWS AND THOSE ARE GOD'S LAWS AND

THERE'S NOT ONE MAN THAT CAN TAKE THOSE RIGHTS AWAY

FROM ME.

AND HOW DARE THEY ATTEMPT TO DO SUCH THINGS.

A MILITARY COMMANDER HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER

A CIVILIAN TO SAY, "YOU CAN'T SAY THE WORD GOD ON

THIS MILITARY BASE OR DURING THIS RETIREMENT CEREMONY."

WE'VE DEMANDED THAT THE AIR FORCE RESPOND TO THIS

BY APOLOGIZING, THAT THEY TAKE ACTION TO INSURE THAT

THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO ANYBODY ELSE EVER AGAIN,

AND THAT THEY HOLD THOSE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

THIS, THEY HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE,

BECAUSE NO AMERICAN, ESPECIALLY A DECORATED

VETERAN LIKE OSCAR RODRIGUEZ,

SHOULD BE MAN HANDLED LIKE THIS AND FORCED OUT OF A

FUNDAMENTALLY MISUNDERSTOOD THE PURPOSE

OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT, TURNING ITS FOUNDATIONAL

GUARANTEES UPSIDE DOWN.

WRITTEN TO PROTECT OUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS,

IT'S NOW OFTEN USED TO TAKE THEM AWAY- ALL BASED

UPON THE WILLFUL MISINTERPRETATION OF A

LETTER WRITTEN BY THOMAS JEFFERSON.

OUR COUNTRY HAS LOST THE SENSE OF WHY WE HAVE

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY, WHY IT IS THE FIRST FREEDOM,

FIRST PRINCIPLE.

OUR COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON PRINCIPLES OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT RELIGIOUS LIBERTIES IN

AMERICA.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT ANYBODY SHOULD HAVE TO

VIOLATE A DEEP RELIGIOUS CONVICTION OF THEIRS BY

LOOKING LIKE THEY CELEBRATE SOME LIFE STYLE THROUGH

PHOTOGRAPHY, THROUGH CAKES AND ALL THE OTHER.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY IN AMERICA COMPARED TO OUR

FOUNDING IN TERMS OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IS IT'S

NOT QUITE NIGHT AND DAY BUT IT'S GETTING THERE.

ONE OF THE FEATURES OF THE CONSTITUTION THAT'S BEEN

DISTORTED OVER TIME IS THE ESTABLISHMENT CLAUSE.

THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION BEGINS:

IT WAS ORIGINALLY UNDERSTOOD TO MAKE SURE

THAT STATES COULD MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS WITH

REGARD TO WHETHER OR NOT THEY WANTED TO EMBRACE A

PARTICULAR CHURCH.

NOW THERE'S NO STATE TODAY THAT WOULD DO THIS BUT AT

THE TIME IT WAS UNDERSTOOD AS A PROTECTION FOR THE

STATES TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAD THAT PREROGATIVE.

OVER THE LAST FEW DECADES THE SUPREME COURT HAS

COMMANDEERED THIS AREA OF THE CONSTITUTION,

HAS CHANGED IT.

IN 1947, THE SUPREME COURT FASHIONED A NEW

UNDERSTANDING OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT,

BASED ON AN OBSCURE LETTER FROM THOMAS JEFFERSON.

CRITICS NOTE THAT JEFFERSON WASN'T EVEN

THERE WHEN THE CONSTITUTION OR THE FIRST AMENDMENT

WERE WRITTEN.

IN THAT LETTER TO THE BAPTISTS OF DANBURY, CONNECTICUT

OUR THIRD PRESIDENT QUOTED THE FIRST AMENDMENT AND

SAID THAT IT BUILT "A WALL OF SEPARATION BETWEEN

CHURCH AND STATE."

JEFFERSON'S WALL, IF YOU LOOK AT IT IN ITS CONTEXT,

THE CONTEXT OF THE LETTER ITSELF,

THE POLITICAL CONTEXT IN WHICH HE WRITES THIS

LETTER IS NOT A WALL ERECTED BETWEEN CHURCH AND

STATE RATHER HE WAS AFFIRMING A WALL BETWEEN

THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AND STATE AND LOCAL

GOVERNMENTS AND RELIGIOUS SOCIETIES ON THE OTHER

SIDE OF THE WALL.

HE WAS AFFIRMING, IN OTHER WORDS,

THIS PRINCIPLE OF FEDERALISM.

FEDERALISM REFERS TO WHEN THE COLONIES DECIDED TO

BECOME STATES AND JOIN TOGETHER TO FORM THE

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

THEY CEDED POWER TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT,

BUT NOT ALL POWER.

JEFFERSON'S WALL IS REALLY AN AFFIRMATION OF THE

PRINCIPLE OF FEDERALISM.

IT IS SAYING THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NO

BUSINESS IN ESTABLISHING A RELIGION OR EVEN

DISESTABLISHING A RELIGION,

FAVORING OR DISFAVORING RELIGION THAT IS A MATTER

THAT THE PEOPLE CAN ADDRESS AT THE STATE

AND LOCAL LEVEL.

SO, THE FIRST AMENDMENT, LIKE THE WALL,

IS ABOUT FEDERALISM BUT THAT HAS BEEN LOST IN

SUBSEQUENT JURISPRUDENCE AND AGAIN THAT'S AN ALIEN

CONCEPT TO 21ST CENTURY JURISPRUDENCE.

AND I THINK THAT THERE'S BEEN A LOSS OF LIBERTY IN

THAT TRANSITION AS WELL.

PRIOR TO THE SUPREME COURT'S 1947 CHURCH AND

STATE DECISION, THERE HAD BEEN RELATIVELY FEW CASES

DEALING WITH RELIGION.

AFTER THAT, THE FLOODGATES WERE OPENED UP- EVENTUALLY

WASHING AWAY THINGS LIKE SCHOOL PRAYER AND SCHOOL

BIBLE-READING WHICH HAD GONE ON FOR CENTURIES,

BEGINNING IN THE COLONIES.

AND THE POSTING OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN PUBLIC.

AND NOW IT NEVER STOPS.

NOWHERE IN OUR SOCIETY DOES GOVERNMENT HAVE MORE

DIRECT CONTROL THAN OVER THE MILITARY.

AND IN TODAY'S MILITARY, WHERE POLITICAL LIBERALISM

AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS HAVE RUN AMUCK,

CHAPLAINS ARE ON THE FRONT LINE OF THE BATTLE FOR

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

AS YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE, MERELY MAINTAINING A BASIC

BIBLICAL ORTHODOXY AS A CHAPLAIN CAN NOW BE A

CAREER-ENDANGERING STANCE.

CHAPLAINS IN THE ARMED FORCES TODAY ARE BEING

PRESSURED TO AFFIRM WHAT THEY CONSIDER IMMORAL

SEXUAL PRACTICES, INCLUDING SAME-SEX MARRIAGE.

MILITARY CHAPLAINS ARE GOING TO BE RIGHT FRONT

AND CENTER ESPECIALLY WHEN SOMEONE FOR EXAMPLE COMES TO

THEM AND IS STRUGGLING WITH UNWANTED AND I EMPHASIZE

UNWANTED SAME SEX ATTRACTIONS, AND THEY SEEK

COUNSEL FROM THAT CHAPLAIN.

IF THAT CHAPLAIN THEN COUNSELS THAT INDIVIDUAL

FROM A BIBLICAL STAND POINT AND DOES NOT AFFIRM

HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR SEXUAL ATTRACTIONS AND ULTIMATELY

HAS A MORAL OPPOSITION AND BIBLICAL OPPOSITION TO

THAT, THAT CHAPLAIN IS GOING TO BE IN THE CROSS

HAIRS, AND THAT CHAPLAIN'S FUTURE WILL BE IN JEOPARDY.

GAY STUDENTS DAILY AND IT WAS VERY NORMATIVE FOR ME

TO TALK TO PEOPLE AND I BELIEVE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE

TO AGREE WITH EVERYBODY TO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE.

SO I GAVE HIM A BIBLICAL RESPONSE IN LOVE,

LIKE I WOULD ALWAYS DO AND HE FILED A COMPLAINT.

UNFORTUNATELY, THE COMMANDER DECIDED THAT

CHAPLAIN MODDER WAS UNFIT FOR DUTY AND HE TOOK

ACTIONS TO HAVE MODDER FIRED FROM HIS POSITION AS

A CHAPLAIN AND HE ULTIMATELY TRIED TO HAVE

MODDER KICKED OUT OF THE NAVY.

THE CHARGES WERE THAT I DIDN'T CARE,

THAT I DID NOT CARE FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE DIFFERENT

THAN MY OWN FAITH GROUP.

I CRIED THE LAST DAY I WAS DRIVING INTO WORK,

WEARING MY UNIFORM, I'VE NEVER FELT ASHAMED OF MY

UNIFORM, BUT I DON'T LIKE WHAT IT'S BECOME,

I DON'T LIKE WHAT THE CHAPLAINCY HAS BECOME IN

THE MILITARY.

TO BE CONSERVATIVE, TO HAVE A BIBLICAL WORLD VIEW

IS NOT WELCOME.

THANKFULLY AFTER SEVERAL ROUNDS OF APPEAL WITHIN

THE NAVY, WE WERE ABLE TO GET TO A TWO STAR ADMIRAL

WHO IS ONE OF THE SENIOR NAVY OFFICIALS OVERSEEING

THESE TYPES OF MATTERS AND HE ULTIMATELY REVERSED ALL

OF THE THREATENED PUNISHMENT AGAINST

CHAPLAIN MODDER AND EXONERATED CHAPLAIN MODDER COMPLETELY.

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO, TO SAY AND BELIEVE AND ENGAGE

IN RELIGIOUS CONDUCT AND RELIGIOUS EXPRESSION EVEN

IF OTHER PEOPLE DON'T AGREE WITH THAT EXPRESSION.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHY OUR FOUNDERS CAME HERE TO THIS

COUNTRY AND FOUNDED THIS COUNTRY.

PERHAPS THE FIRST PLACE IN AMERICA THAT FREEDOM CAME

INTO THE CROSSHAIRS WAS IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

IN 1947, THE US SUPREME COURT FIRST APPLIED-

INCORRECTLY WE MIGHT ADD- THE SO-CALLED WALL OF

SEPARATION BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE IN

A CASE INVOLVING THE TRANSPORTATION OF

SCHOOLCHILDREN ATTENDING RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS.

IT WAS THEN APPLIED TO PRAYER IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

TODAY, AS YOU'RE ABOUT TO SEE,

THE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

ALIKE IS ROUTINELY STRIPPED AWAY.

THE CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISION TO PROTECT

RELIGION FROM GOVERNMENT IS NOW USED TO PROTECT

GOVERNMENT FROM ANY VESTIGE OF RELIGION.

HERE'S OUR OWN JOHN RABE WITH MORE.

WELL, I JUST IT THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL

TO HAVE SOMETHING FUN IN HIS LUNCHBOX TO REMIND HIM

THAT HIS MOM AND DAD LOVE HIM AND SOMETHING FROM THE LORD.

I OPENED MY LUNCHBOX I FOUND A SCRIPTURE IN THERE.

AND I READ IT, IT WAS I WAS HAPPY.

WHEN CALEB ZAVALA STARTED FIRST GRADE AT

DESERT ROSE ELEMENTARY IN PALMDALE, CALIFORNIA

HIS PARENTS JAMIE AND CHRISTINA WERE CONCERNED

ABOUT THEIR SON'S FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST WHILE

ATTENDING PUBLIC SCHOOL.

WE HAD MORE KIDS THERE AND THEY WANTED SCRIPTURES

TOO, SO I TOLD MY MOM AND THEN SHE MADE MORE

SCRIPTURES FROM ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, OR FIVE.

AND THAT WAS A LOT OF KIDS.

CHRISTINA ZAVALA BEGAN SENDING BIBLE STORIES TO

SCHOOL WITH CALEB FOR HIS CLASSMATES.

WHEN THE TEACHER FOUND OUT WE COULD SHE LIKE

SCOLDED ME AND TOOK THE SCRIPTURES.

I GOT A CALL FROM HIS TEACHER AND SHE JUST

WANTED TO LET ME KNOW THAT I NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND

THAT THERE WAS A SEPARATION OF CHURCH

AND STATE.

THAT HE CAN'T JUST BRING THIS MATERIAL AND SHARE

WITH THE KIDS.

AND THAT'S WHEN THE TEACHER SAID WE COULD DO

IT OUTSIDE THE GATE.

AND SO WE RESPECTFULLY DID THAT.

WHEN DADDY WAS PICKING ME UP FROM SCHOOL THE

PRINCIPAL CAME BY WHEN I WAS HANDING MY SOMEONE A

SCRIPTURE AND SAID ONLY HAND OUT SCRIPTURES ON

THE SIDEWALK, NOT NEAR THE GATE.

PROBABLY WITHIN HALF HOUR, FORTY-FIVE MINUTES OF US

BEING BACK HOME WE GET A KNOCK ON THE DOOR.

THE OFFICER CAME BY THE DOOR.

AND HE LET US KNOW THAT THE SCHOOL HAD CALLED HIM.

THERE'S A SHERIFF WITH THE AUTHORITY FIGURE,

THE BADGE, THE GUN, THE HANDCUFFS,

KNOCKING AT THE DOOR.

WHAT WENT WRONG?

WHAT'S GOING ON?

WELL IT'S YOUR SON CALEB AND WE'RE WANTING TO TELL

YOU THAT IF HE COMES BACK TO SCHOOL WITH ANY

SCRIPTURE VERSES, THERE WILL BE TROUBLE.

WELL AFTER THE POLICE CAME TO THE DOOR,

WE REALIZED THAT THIS WAS MAYBE BIGGER THAN US AND

WE DIDN'T REALIZE- WE DIDN'T KNOW OUR RIGHTS.

SO I WAS LOOKING FOR INFORMATION.

MY WIFE HAD EMAILED OR TALKED TO A LIBERTY

COUNCIL AND THEY RESPONDED BACK TO US.

LIBERTY COUNSEL GOT INVOLVED.

WE SENT A DEMAND LETTER, WE CONTINUED TO

COMMUNICATE WITH THE SCHOOL AND FORTUNATELY

JUST BEFORE AND AT THE TIME OF SCHOOL STARTING

AGAIN, THE SCHOOL AUTHORITIES REVERSED THEIR

POSITION, THEY SENT A LENGTHY LETTER AND SAID

CALEB CAN BRING HIS BIBLE VERSES TO THE SCHOOL,

HE CAN TALK ABOUT HIS FAITH DURING THESE

NON-INSTRUCTIONAL TIMES WHICH INCLUDES THE LUNCH HOUR.

CALEB DID NOT GO BACK TO DESERT ROSE ELEMENTARY AND

IS ENROLLED IN A DIFFERENT SCHOOL.

THANKFULLY, THE ZAVALAS STOOD FOR THEIR RIGHTS

WHEN THEIR FREEDOM WAS PLACED IN THE CROSSHAIRS.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF HIS PARENTS DIDN'T STAND UP?

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE HADN'T STOOD UP WITH THEM?

HE WOULD HAVE HAD A TERRIBLE MESSAGE THAT HE

WOULD HAVE RECEIVED AT SEVEN YEARS OLD AND HE

WOULD CARRY THAT MESSAGE WITH HIM THROUGH THE REST

OF HIS LIFE.

THE TWISTING OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT HAS ALMOST

COMPLETELY REVERSED ITS ACTUAL INTENTION.

THE CONSTITUTION IS WRITTEN ENTIRELY TO PLACE

LIMITS ON GOVERNMENT- NEVER ON INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS.

AND YET NOW, UNDER A RADICAL MISUSE OF THE

FIRST AMENDMENT, INDIVIDUALS LIKE CALEB

ZAVALA ARE BEING TOLD THEY ARE VIOLATING THE

CONSTITUTION- IRONICALLY BY EXERCISING THEIR

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

ANOTHER STRIKING CASE IS THAT OF FOOTBALL COACH

JOE KENNEDY IN BREMERTON, WASHINGTON.

IT WAS KIND OF THE COVENANT AND AGREEMENT

I HAD WITH GOD IF HE ALLOWED ME TO COACH THEN,

AND THAT WAS MY CALLING, THAT I WOULD GIVE HIM THANKS.

THE REFEREE HAS BLOWN THE FINAL WHISTLE,

THE PLAYERS HAVE LEFT THE FIELD,

AND AFTER THAT HAPPENS COACH KENNEDY MADE A

COMMITMENT TO GOD THAT ONCE THE GAME IS OVER,

THOUGH COACH JOE KENNEDY NEVER ASKED ANYONE TO PRAY

WITH HIM, PLAYERS BEGAN TO TAKE NOTICE.

THE KIDS STARTED COMING OUT AND,

"COACH WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT THERE?"

AND I WAS LIKE, "JUST GIVING THANKS FOR WHAT YOU

GUYS DID" AND THEY SAID, "CAN WE JOIN YOU" AND I

WAS LIKE "IT'S A FREE COUNTRY YOU CAN DO

WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO."

THIS IS ABOUT THE GAME, THIS IS ABOUT THE STUDENTS.

COACH KENNEDY HAD BEEN PRAYING AFTER GAMES FOR

EIGHT YEARS WITHOUT INCIDENT.

BUT A RECENT PHONE CALL TO THE PRINCIPAL- IRONICALLY

TO COMPLIMENT COACH KENNEDY AND THE SCHOOL ON

THE PRAYER, RAISED THE PRINCIPAL'S CONCERN,

AND HE SENT THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR TO INVESTIGATE.

THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR APPROACHED ME AND SAID,

"ARE WE CLEAR ABOUT THE PRAYER THING?"

AND I WAS "NO, I'M NOT CLEAR ABOUT IT."

AND HE SAYS, "WELL, WE CAN'T HAVE YOU PRAYING.

WE JUST DON'T WANT YOU TO LEAD THE PRAYER."

I WAS LIKE, "I DON'T KNOW IF I COULD PROMISE THAT."

AND SO I WAS ALONE.

IT WAS AN AWAY GAME.

ALL BY MYSELF ON THE 50 AFTER THE GAME WAS OVER.

NO KIDS ON THE FIELD.

I TAKE A KNEE FOR MAYBE 30 SECONDS AND JUST CONTINUED

ON WITH THE TEAM AND THEY ENDED UP SUSPENDING ME.

AFTER BEING FIRED FOR PRIVATELY PRAYING ON THE

FIELD AFTER FOOTBALL GAMES,

COACH KENNEDY FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE

BREMERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT, WHICH IS STILL ONGOING.

WELL, BREMERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS NO LEGAL

BASIS TO MAKE THIS TYPE OF ULTIMATUM ON ANY EMPLOYEE

LET ALONE A FOOTBALL COACH TO SAY YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE

BETWEEN YOUR FAITH AND YOUR JOB.

I WANT TO BE THE COACH AGAIN.

I WANT TO BE OUT THERE WITH THOSE GUYS.

THEY'RE MY WORLD.

YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH THEY MEAN TO YOU UNTIL YOU

LOSE SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND THEN.

IT REALLY HITS YOU.

IT'S LIKE LOSING YOUR KID.

IT'S THAT YOU'RE LEFT WITH THAT EMPTY HOLLOW PART OF

YOUR SOUL AND IT'S A HORRIBLE FEELING.

HOW HAVE WE REACHED THE POINT WHERE THE FIRST

AMENDMENT, WHICH GUARANTEES NO GOVERNMENT

ESTABLISHMENT OF A CHURCH AND PROTECTS THE FREE

EXERCISE OF RELIGION FOR ALL AMERICANS, IS NOW USED

TO PUNISH FOOTBALL COACHES AND TO SEND LAW

ENFORCEMENT TO THE DOORS OF SCHOOLCHILDREN SHARING

BIBLE VERSES?

WE HAVE REACHED THIS POINT BECAUSE, WHILE RELIGIOUS
