Waching daily May 3 2017

Here are a few of the WEIRDEST human animal relationships!

6 - Chito and Pocho

Crocodiles are one of the most aggressive and deadly hunters in the wild.

It doesn't matter whether it's a Nile, Saltwater, or American crocodile.

Crocodiles might as well be code for "certain death."

If one of these bad boys sets his or her sights on you, you're pretty much screwed.

Now with the human thirst for knowledge being what it is, and the benefits of scientific

understanding being well documented, it's reasonable that there are people who wanna

study these leftover dinosaurs in order to get to know more about them.

But swimming with them?

Or better yet, nuzzling them and petting them?

Hmmm, yeah, let's add that to the list of unsafe things to do.

Meet Chito, a Costa Rican man who swims with a crocodile.

His odd journey began in 1989 when he rescued an American Crocodile who he found dying on

the banks of the Reventazón River.

Apparently, a nearby farmer shot the croc after he tried to attack his livestock.

Chito, a fisherman, decided to take a risk and bring the crocodile home and nurse him

back to health.

I don't know how you nurse a crocodile back to health, but Chito figured it out.

Once he got the crocodile back on its feet, he probably thought everything was gonna go

back to being normal.

Except that the next day, he found the 16-foot 1,000 pound croc sleeping outside of his house

after Chito attempted to release it back into the wild.

In fact, the croc made himself at home, spending the next 22 years living in the water outside

of Chito's house, refusing to go back to river with all of his crocodile friends.

Chito decided to give his new pet crocodile the name of Pocho.

Chito would swim with Pocho, he would nuzzle him, and Pocho would come to Chitto when he

called his name, almost as though it were a dog.

Except Crocodiles are apex predators with millions of years of evolutionary killing

instincts.

Still, that didn't stop Chitto and Pcho forming the most unusual bond ever.

According to Chito, Pocho the crocodile made a decision and preferred to spend the rest

of his life with the man who saved his life.

So because Pocho made that decision, Chito decided to make one too.

He allowed Pocho to became a member of his family, along with his second wife and daughter.

Apparently, Chito's first wife had left him because he was spending too much time

with the crocodile.

Chito said, "Another wife I could get.

Pocho was one in a million".

I meannnn…….I really can't argue with that logic!!!

After a while, Chitto would perform a public ritual where he would swim in a lake with

his giant reptilian buddy as tourists would watch in disbelief.

There was even a documentary about him called "The Man Who Swims With Crocodiles."

Chito says he could interpret signals given to him by Pocho and knew when he was hungry

or agitated, which was usually a good time to avoid him.

Um yeah.

This is a good sign that Chito isn't totally off his rocker.

For the better part of 22 years, the two remained close until Pocho's natural death in 2011.

Chito and others who have managed to swim with these giant reptiles have worked to dispel

they notion that all crocodiles are aggressive and have advocated that more humans need to

protect them.

5 - Grizzly Man

Like crocs and snakes, bears typically fall into the category of "try your best to avoid

them if you don't know what you're doing."

Timothy Treadwell knew what he was doing and his life still ended tragically.

Treadwell, an environmentalist, filmmaker, and avid bear enthusiast, lived among a pack

of Grizzly Bears in Katmai National Park in Alaska for 13 summers.

During his summer adventures, he would often get close enough to the Grizzlies to touch

them, and would even play with the bear cubs.

Now, I'm not really a bear expert, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's not

recommended.

Please don't play with bear cubs.

Treadwell became the subject of Werner Herzog's Grizzly Man, a 2005 Documentary about Treadwell's

life among the bears.

The film mainly features footage taken by Treadwell until his death in 2003.

Though he had developed an unusual amount of trust with bears, Treadwell made a fatal

mistake.

During his summer 2003 session, he decided to stay an extra week in Katmai National Park.

This wasn't a great idea, since Grizzly Bears are known to become more aggressive

during the fall as they fatten up for hibernation.

Along with his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, Treadwell was tragically mauled to death by

a grizzly bear on October 6, 2003.

The day a plane was sent to pick the two of them up, their remains were found near their

campsite by a friend.

Among the carnage was Treadwell's disfigured head, his spine, and his dismembered right

forearm.

Ugh.

Katmai Park Rangers killed a bear near the campsite, and soon discovered human remains

in the bear's stomach.

Right before the gruesome attacks, Amie must have turned on a video camera, because a camcorder

was running when it happened.

Because the lens cap was still on, only the audio was captured, which was immediately

destroyed by Herzog, so the supposed audio that people have posted on the internet is

a fake recording.

4 - Kids Raised by Animals

You're most likely pretty familiar with a story called The Jungle Book, Rudyard Kipling's

story about a boy named Mowgli who was raised by Wolves.

This classic book has been adapted into comics, children's stories, two live action films,

and of course, the Disney version that a few different generations grew up with.

Anyway, it would seem that that whole scenario seems pretty far fetched right?

But, apparently there HAVE been some bizarre cases of children actually being raised by

wild animals!

In 1920 , for example, "The Wolf Children" as they're famously known, were supposedly

discovered in the Jungles of India.

I say supposedly because this one is pretty controversial.

Amala and Kamala as they were later named, were aged 3 and 8 respectively when a local

clergymen claimed to have found them.

Since no one else was around to witness this, some have alleged that the whole thing is

a hoax.

In any case, both girls died after a few years from contracting diseases for which they had

never built an immunity to.

In more recent verifiable cases, a little baby was found being protected by wild cats

in 2008.

Authorities in Argentina discovered a one year old boy surrounded by eight wild cats,

who apparently would snuggle up next to him to keep him warm during the harsh winter nights.

The baby would surely have frozen to death if these cats hadn't done that.

They also seemed to forage food for him, as he was seen eating scraps of food.

After some diligent investigating, it turns out that the boy was the son of a homeless

man, who had lost him while he was out collecting cardboard.

Relieved that his son was still alive, he did say to police that cats always seemed

to lookout for his son.

Wellps, I guess that's one solution to daycare!

Anyways, then there was the case of Chilean boy who was raised wild dogs, or the case

of Marina Chapman, who spent some of her formative years living among monkeys.

Born in Britain, she moved with her family to Columbia, and was kidnapped when she was

only four.

For some reason, her captors let her loose in the jungle where she was rescued by monkeys.

She spent the next few years living in a capuchin monkey colony where she was evidently provided

for.

She was ultimately rescued by hunters, and after a long and arduous process, was re acclimated

to human life.

The 2013 documentary Woman Raised by Monkeys details her incredible journey.

To be honest, I'm not too sure if I believe this one.

What do you guys think?

3 - Jane Goodall and her Chimpanzees

Jane Goodall is easily one of the most prolific Chimpanzee experts in the world.

Her world renowned study of Chimps began in 1960, even though she didn't have any professional

training in doing so.

It didn't really matter, because her research on chimps and the bond she formed with these

primates is truly amazing.

Goodall had a much different approach to studying animals.

At the time, researchers would give their subjects numbers instead of names in order

to maintain objectivity.

Goodal, however, decided to give them names.

And they were cool names too, such as David Greybeard.

She quickly discovered that primates have unique personalities, which was considered

revolutionary at the time.

She also observed other behaviors that no one else even imagined.

For example, she figured out that chimps use tools, that they aren't all vegetarians,

and that, at times, they have a disturbing proclivity for violence.

To the last point, Goodall witnessed female primates killing the babies of other chimps

in order to maintain their dominance.

Wellps…..another case of mother nature and biology….you really can't mess with either.

Of course she also witnessed plenty of peaceful and affectionate behavior among these incredibly

social primates.

Anyway, during the course of her research, which spanned more than half a century, Goodall

became the first, and to date, the only human to ever be accepted into Chimpanzee society.

Her close bond with the Chimps somewhat tainted some of her findings in the eyes of more traditional

biologists, but her insights provided us with a perspective of Chimpanzees we may never

have gotten otherwise.

That counts for something, doesn't it?

2 - Gabi and the Crows

"Gabi and the Crows."

It may sound sorta like some kind of alternative rock band from the 90's who've been coasting

off a one hit wonder from 1997.

Well it's actually not.

This story is actually pretty interesting.

Gabi lives in Seattle.

Okay for real, I promise this isn't about an alternative rock band!

But seriously, Gabi started an interesting habit in 2011 when she was just four years

old.

That habit was an odd proclivity for dropping food by accident.

When this would happen, crows would swoop in and grab the dropped food.

She noticed that the crows always seemed to be looking for her.

So she started giving them food on purpose.

The more she did this, the bigger her bird audience grew.

Eventually, she began offering daily meals to the birds in her family's backyard.

Each morning, Gabi and her mother would fill the birdbath with fresh water and peanuts.

The birds noticed this pattern and would gather each morning to get their food.

Here's where things take an amazing twist.

After more than a year of leaving food for the birds, the crows decided that they would

leave gifts of their own.

Now obviously they weren't stopping by Target to get her toys or Amazon gift cards.

The gifts were random items, mostly small shiny things.

This usually meant tiny pieces of metal, or small lightbulbs; basically anything shiny

looking that birds can fit into their mouths.

According to a story by the BBC, one crow even returned a lens cap from a camera that

belonged to Gabi's mom, lisa.

Lisa was out taking photos near the house, and must have dropped the lens.

The next day, the lens was sitting on the edge of the birdbath.

Hmmmmm!!!!

In an interview with the BBC, bird expert John Marzluff explained that humans and birds

can form a bond if the human forms a consistent feeding pattern for the birds.

While it's not unheard of for birds to bond and even communicate with people who feed

them, their exchange of gifts is a bit unusual.

But "a bit unusual" can sometimes be a good thing, and it may even land you in one

of my videos, and hey, that's gotta count for something!

1 - A Man and His Cobra

Thumbnail:

Generally speaking, a highly poisonous snake, such as a King Cobra, would be exactly the

type of creature you want to avoid altogether.

And if for some reason, you can't avoid them completely, you probably don't want

it as a pet.

And if you absolutely must keep one as a pet, then perhaps you don't wanna have it cuddled

up next to you every night as you read it bedtime stories.

Welllllll then, meet Abu Zarin Hussin, a 32-year old firefighter who does exactly that.

In fact, keeps three, yes THREE King Cobras as pets.

He even lets them sleep in his bed, and reads them bedtime stories.

Just….what the f*ck?!

You might think that having a 14-foot King Cobra living in your bed would pose a threat.

And it absolutely does.

Hussin has been bitten by his snakes not one, not 2, not 3, but eight times!!!

Two of those bites have landed him in a coma.

But like a bad romance, he loves them anyway.

He describes the pain from a snake bite as very severe, to the point when you can't

even describe it.

So yeah, that totally makes sense why he wants to sleep with them in bed.

I get it.

It's a fetish.

<sigh>.

Anyways, like his father, Hussin is a trained snake handler, so he actually knows what he's

doing, and it says a lot about how risky handling something like a cobra is.

He even leads courses on snake taming and claims that he always takes precaution before

letting anyone near his pets.

Wait, I can take a snake taming course?

As far his job goes, he's an expert snake handler for the fire department, helping to

tame snakes who end up in people's homes.

But he's so dedicated to his pet snakes that rumors began to swirl that he married

his snakes.

Abu has denied these bizarre claims, saying that it's a story made up by people of different

beliefs and cultures.

Hey, even the daily mail thought he married his snake!

Here's what's next!

Exciting Private YouTube Conference in Cancun! - VLOG 337 - Duration: 13:03.

Good morning from Playa del Carmen.

We headed to Cancun today

on a little bus.

Today is an excited day

because our friends at Endless Adventure,

and our friend Tal, the Traveling Clat,

we are meeting them in person at our AirBNB

that we're sharing together in Cancun.

Being around people who do what we do..

it's a little nerve-wracking.

I don't know why, it's so strange.

Because you're self conscious.

Like the intro this morning, I had to jack up the adio

on it, because you were going, "ᴳᵒᵒᵈ ᵐᵒʳᶰᶦᶰᵍ, ʷᵉ'ʳᵉ ᶦᶰ ᵃ ᵇᵘˢ"

They're actually going to be traveling with us for two weeks.

So by the end of the two weeks, I think it will be fine.

Yeaaaaaah.

It'll just take a little bit of warming up to do, you know?

I mean with the other vloggers.

And like being afraid to be in their videos

when they don't want you to.

Or like...

Talking over them..

really loud, yeah!

It's going to be interesting.

I'm really excited. I'm looking forward to it.

And I'm looking forward to roommates.

Like, traveling with other people, you know?

it's really exciting.

Alright, we made it to Cancun.

Now to find the AirBNB

It doesn't seem that far away, actually.

Hopefully we can get to it quickly,

and we can drop our bags off.

Yeahhh.

We found it.

We were in Playa del Carmen, so it was easy for us.

We just made it to our AirBNB.

We're the first ones here,

which means we get first pick of the bedroom.

Awww yeaaaaah.

Come in, come in!

This AirBNB is called Sean and Yuri's AirBNB.

He's a guy from England, and she's from here.

And they bought this place together. It's so cute.

Such a cute story.

But we get to enjoy it for 3 days.

Tal, our friend, gets to sleep on this lovely futon.

Sorry man.

But let's go see the bedrooms!

Kitchen, beautiful kitchen.

The kitchen's awesome.

She, like, opened all of the drawers,

and they literally have everything we need.

Even...

And this is one of my main complaints about AirBNB's,

that they don't have, like, plastic containers

to cut of fruit, and put things away.

Ah, like tuperware.

Yeah, AirBNB's should totally add that for people,

and they did.

And it's amazing.

Love it.

First bathroom.

A shared bathroom with a nice shower head.

This is our bedroom.

Fresh,

clean,

white,

colorful,

and a huge closet.

We need to get some more clothes.

Yeah.

This is the other room.

Look how nice it is! And look how cute,

She put little chocolates,

little Jose Cuervo chocolates on our beds.

Something else AirBNB's need to do,

and they did it,

these plugs.

So many times we go into AirBNB's and the room..

the plug is on the full other side of the room.

Or like behind the headboard or something.

We usually sit in our bed and work.

Because there's no other place to do it.

This is genius, and they have it in both rooms.

The balcony, which is super cute.

Yupp, looks right down on the street.

Love it.

And the second bathroom.

And a ginormous closet.

This is the closet.

Huge!

(What?)

And Tal's little sheets are in here.

She put a little chocolate on the blankets.

I love that.

Also, something that I didn't know about Mexico,

is flushing toilet paper is not really a good thing

for the pipes and everything.

As a general rule.

So she made a little sign, and put it here.

This is the first time I've seen this, and it's genius.

'Cause when you're sitting on the toilet,

you just look straight at it,

and you're like, "oh, oh yeah, I shouldn't

flush my toilet paper.

Okay, well we've got to do some laundry, right?

Yes, We're going to go down the street to a laundry mat.

Because all of our clothes are dirty.

Yeah.

We dropped off our laundry.

It cost 145 pesos to do pretty much everything

that I own.

Other than what I am wearing.

That's like less than 10 dollars to wash.

Yeah, not bad at all.

So now we need to eat something,

'cause we're starving.

And then we'll go back and wait for our new

roommates to come.

You know it's a town in Mexico

if they have a taco stand just across the street from our place.

mhmm. And it's actually really, really, really good.

Is it?

Mhmm

They prepare the tacos in a way I've never seen before.

Yeah, I've never seen this.

It's like premade stuffed,

and then they just keep it in a pot warm.

Yeah.

Yeah!

They're here!

They're here!!

They're here!!!

THERE HERE!

You have to buzz them in.

I think.

Come in! Come in!

Come in.

Come in!

(Unintelligible loud noises)

You're 3 dimensional.

Vlog vs. vlog.

Come on in!

Hi! It's so good to meet you!

How's it going?

The Traveling Clat, come over here.

Tal is in a building across the way.

What are you doing over there, man?

Where is he?

Oh my gosh.

He can't get out because it's locked..

You need a key to open the gate.

Somebody let him in and now he's...

Oh, I see his hand now, he's, like, reaching out.

You made it, you're free!

Press 101.

Yeah.

I can't believe you spotted him.

Yeah, he was just in the hallway, like...

What's up, guys!?

Hey, how's it going, man?

Good to see you.

Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you, too!

Okay, Eric and Allison are doing their intro video.

Showing the place now, too.

They just arrived.

We just sat talking...

Tal is behind us.

Oh yeah, and Tal is on his bedroom.

Couch.

That's his bed for the next couple of days.

I think tonight we're just going to be hanging out and staying in,

Because..

Uhh...

We're all tired.

And it's hot.

So, we're going to get some work done, I think,

and we're just going to hang out.

Okay, so we're all sitting here hanging out.

We're so excited to go to Cuba.

We're making plans right now, we're all talking about it.

Are you guys hungry?

Yes.

Should I try to call..?

Do you speak Spanish?

Anybody better at Spanish than me?

Yeah, we'll make a list of things that we want to order.

We have a place, Empanadas and Pizzas.

So we're going to order out.

Alright.

I'm editing tomorrows vlog.

That's the word for order?

Orden.

We have 3 cameras going.

3 cameras to order a pizza.

That's what their phone numbers look like here?

Oh, it's actually ringing now.

Bueno.

Hola.

Bueno?

la empanadaria?

Esta la empanadaria?

Bueno?

Si, yo orden dos pizza.

Bueno?

Hola?

Hablas ingles?

No.

Okay, en espanol, dos pizza.

Gracias?

Okay, muchas gracias.

We failed!

That was hard.

Okay, Attempt number 1. That's alright.

That's not too bad.

Attempt number 2.

Hola, yo quero cuatro pizza.

Si?

Si, dos meditaranio..

(A lot of Spanish)

Si.

How do you say delivery?

Uno momento.

A domocino?

Habla ingles?

No.

Entrega.

Number of the telephone.

Do you want to do the numbers?

Cause I'm bad with the numbers.

I don't know the numbers either.

Si, 311 203...

Say si.

Always say si.

Apartmento?

Calle lima

Calle lima?

Si.

This is intense, you guys.

I'm sweating over here about it.

I don't think we're going to get pizza.

Sorry?

Otra?

Otra?

Queso y manzana?

Perdon?

Did you say cheese and apples?

Si?

What?

Bueno?

Cheese and apples...

Otro por favor?

Should we just say lo siento?

yo no comprendo.

Lo siento, yo no comprendo.

Lo siento, yo no comprendo

We're at the point in the conversation

where we don't know what's happening.

Well that's it.

Ohhh, they hung up!

So close!

You killed it, you did a pretty good job.

Teamwork.

We almost ordered a pizza.

We can't call them again now, right?

We got halfway through to the order.

I was so proud, I thought we had it.

You said the thing about a freaking apple, who does that?

Yeah, what was the apple thing?

He said queso y manzana.

Cheese and apples?

I'll take it. I don't know!

4 pizzas and an apple cheese.

It's funny, she said all the stuff, and you said, Queso y manzanos?

As if you knew what was going on.

I was like oh, nice job Tal.

I can call our AirBNB host.

How do you not speak any English? She's gotta know something.

Alright, what's happening, Ash?

Okay, so I called our AirBNB host, Yuri,

and she's so nice, and she's going to order our pizza for us.

Hey, not for lack of trying, we tried.

She said next time, all we have to do is give them her phone number,

and they have all of her information in the system already.

Ohhhhhh.

The vloggers got pizza, we did it!

What did we get for pizzas?

Uhm, I don't know.

I heard a Hawaiian at least.

Si senor!

Over here.

Mediterranean.

And then a vegi... no that one has meat.

Not a vegetable one.

This one tastes the best.

I will happily eat this.

It's almost midnight.

Why don't you close us out?

Yeah, I did want to say something.

Okay, go ahead.

A lot of you have been helping us out with AirBNB signing up.

We actually have over 100 people who have signed up

through AirBNB

Yeah, through our code.

Which is really awesome, and always in the description below.

But, 4 people have actually gone on trips,

and given us 20 dollars.

AirBNB has given us 20 dollars because people

went on a trip with our code.

So thank you so much to those who have given us credit.

That is awesome.

And it is really the best way to help us out.

Without having to spend your own money.

It makes places like this AirBNB that we're at now

less expensive.

Yeah, and if any of you are interested in this amazing AirBNB,

We're going to link it in the description below

to make it very easy for you to click it,

and come here and visit Cancun in an amazing apartment.

Can recommend.

Absolutely.

So I hope we encouraged you to get out and travel today,

We have so many adventures to come,

we just don't know what they are yet.

We'll see you in the next video, guys!

Adios amigos.

Adios.

Adioooos.

View Your Competitors Top Videos - YouTube Competitor Analysis Update - Duration: 4:54.

You know sometimes I dream of a tool that could show me who my Youtube competition is,

what their best videos are and how well they perform.

Wait a minute, why am I dreaming, vidIQ already does this.

Hello folks welcome back to vidIQ and what we have for you today is another wow moment.

The last time we had one was when we introduced the real-time stats bar.

You know the one that appears on every single Youtube page and displays your most important

realtime stats.

Wow

Well now we're at it again, and this one should help not only compare your competitors but

also tell exactly which content of theirs is performing well and why.

For that we need to go to our vidIQ chrome extension button, so let's quickly recap where

it is.

When you install the vidIQ chrome extension a new IQ button will appear in the browser,

when you click on that select, the competition link to jump to our competitor analysis page.

The top section of this page can compare you channel against any other channel on Youtube.

It will show you view counts, subscriber growth and averages per day.

It's a really handy tool as a general overview of you and your competition and if you want

to know more about how to use this tool then check out the dedicated video we made about

it via the card link on screen now.

But what we want to show you today is the new stuff we've added to the bottom section

of this page that drills down into the best performing content.

First off it will show you when a video was published and its view count so you can see

at a glance a channel's best videos.

Nothing new there but this next number is definitely of interest.

Views per hour tells you instantly if the video is still popular and that's a measure

of how evergreen the video is.

If the content is still relevant and it's still being watched it's likely to rank well

with search terms, and the video tags prove this.

In this example 70 views per hour is 1,500 views a day which is excellent for a video

that's more than a year old.

And finally we have subs driven; a viewer that has clicked the subscribe button directly

from this video.

A subscription is sign of faith.

The subscriber trusts you enough to dedicate future time to your videos.

That's a sign of premium content.

With that in mind compare these two videos.

The top video has been viewed 10 times more than the bottom one, but that has already

driven more subscribers.

Which video are you most interested in watching?

That's a trick question by the way, the bottom one's mine.

We call this collective set of data trending videos and you can narrow down the search

to videos published within the last 48 hours right up to every single video a competitor

has published.

That helps you work out whether they upload consistently good content or struck it lucky

with a single video.

And when you find a particular video of interest, simply click on the title to jump straight

to that video in Youtube and use our vidIQ scorecard to find out exactly why the video

performs the way it does.

Ok let's do some comparisons.

In terms of subscriber growth the Brandon Butch channel has seen a significant increase

since the start of the year.

If we check the trending videos and sort by views per hour.

we can see which content is performing well and perhaps take inspiration from their ideas

and produce similar content.

Now do you remember CZsworld?

Well we did a case study on him a month ago when he was able to create a viral video despite

being a small channel.

Well this has been his subscriber growth since that video and despite still being a smaller

channel than Brandon Butch and myself he has two videos that are tending well in our comparison

list.

The 25 Things you Missed in the Stephen King's It trailer now has 1.7 million views, a still

decent VPH rate, but look at that subs driven count.

That is huge.

And CZ didn't rest on his laurels because he followed that up with another video based

on the IT trailer that is performing extremely well too.

And there you have our latest wow feature folks, the ability to not only compare your

competitors but identify their best content too.

This tool is available to all our vidIQ users with free members being able to compare three

channels, pro users six and boost accounts 20 and each of those includes your own channel.

As always with any new vidIQ feature we'd love to hear your thoughts on whether your

love it, like it or loath it and any improvements you might like to so.

Otherwise thank you very much for watching.

Like the video if you enjoyed it, subscribe to vidIQ for more content just like this and

enjoy the rest of your day.

Bye for now.

ok the first thing we´re going to do is

we´re going to grab a large stock pot

and we´re going to fill it half way with water

we´ll add a generous pinch of sea sat

and about 1/2 tablespoon of

extra virgin Spanish oive oil

and turn on our fire to a high heat

ok next let´s grab a small frying pan

and turn on our fire to a medium heat

we´ll add a generous tablespoon of raw pine nuts

and a tablespoon of blanched almonds

and you want to toast these for just about 2-3 minutes

we don´t want to over do it

to give it too much of a nutty flavor

the less we cook it

the more of a creamier flavor it´s going to give

and after lightly toasting our pine nuts and almonds

for about 2-3 minutes

let´s go ahead and get started with our pesto sauce

i´m going to be using spinach instead of basil

so I have about 2 cups of bagged spinach here

let´s go ahead and cut it

you don´t have to finely dice it or anything

let´s add our spinach to a mortar

now let´s finely mince a small garlic

let´s add our minced garlic to the morter

our toasted pine nuts and almonds

and let´s mash all these ingredients together

with a pessel

so we´ve been mashing it for about a minute or so

at this point let´s go ahead and grab 2 fresh basil leaves

cut them in pieces and throw it in there

this is going to give it a little bit of a sweet flavor

now mashing it like this with a mortar and pessel

usually takes about 4 to 5 minutes

I like to do it this way because

this is how it use to be done in the country sides of Italy

you can also use a food processor

makes it alot quicker

but i´m old school and I like to do it this way

and after pounding it for about 4 minutes

we can see we already have the perfect consistency

at this point

let´s go ahead and season it with some sea salt

and some freshly ground black pepper

so the typical cheese that´s used in and Italian pesto is

parmigiano-reggiano

i´m going to be using queso Manchego

this is an authentic Spanish cheese

i´m using a very aged one

so it has a nice nutty flavor to it

and it has a hard texture to it

now let´s grade some of this aged Manchego cheese

into the the mixture

you can put as much cheese as you like

I like to go about 1/8 cup

and now let´s mix it all together

now for the last part of making our pesto

we´re going to be adding some

extra virgin Spanish olive oil

and the secret here

is to pour in our extra virgin olive oil very slowly

and once we reach this creamy texture right here

we´re done with our pesto sauce

and let´s cover it with some seran wrap

and we´ll let it sit while we cook our pasta

ok now we have our pesto sauce done

and our water is boiling

so let´s go ahead and add the pasta

how much pasta?

I like to use 1 cup per serving

and you want to stir it occasionally

so its been about 9 minutes since I added the pasta

to the pan, im using whole wheat macaroni

so 9 minutes is perfectly cooked at al dente

so i´m going to go ahead and turn off the fire

and drain the water

make sure you drain the water well from here

and then once you do

let´s go ahead and add our macaronis

to a medium sized bowl

i´ve got some sweet cherry tomatoes

i´m going to cut in half

and let´s add the cherry tomatoes

to the bowl with the pasta

we´ll season our pasta and tomatoes

with just a little bit of sea salt

and some freshly cracked pepper

now let´s grab our pesto sauce that we made earlier

and let´s add it to the bowl

and let´s mix it all together

and once you have everything mixed

let´s go ahead and add this to a plate

and we´ll garnish it with a fresh basil leaf

and there´s our finished plate of a

penne pasta

with a homemade Spanish style pesto sauce

A Prayer for Venezuela 01 - 05 - 2017

Namaste, Namaste, Namaste to all the friends

and to all the peoples of Venezuela.

I would like to address you today, really from the bottom of my heart.

And to say that I'm with you in your struggles also.

I know that this is a very challenging time,

a difficult time for the country

and what has to be gone through has to be gone through.

But I'm telling you, I'm reminding you,

don't lose sight of God's love, of our true nature

which is peace and love and harmony.

And of course, we sometimes must strive

to retain and to protect harmony on every level.

But I want to remind you that you are a great country and great people.

And many people all over the world, many nations are with you,

in every moment with you to pray for peace,

that it will come quickly!

And that your difficulties will be resolved quickly.

I add my prayer also to those that God's change may come,

divine intervention will quicken

the restoration of harmony in your country,

that your people will grow together as one nation out of this struggle,

out of these challenging times.

And that things will be much improved in your land, in your country

and amongst your own people.

I pray that this blood letting or these violent incidences

will calm down quickly and come to stop.

And that things will resolve themselves

in the most harmonious and effective and enduring way.

For all of you, many people in your country

have been meditating and praying throughout this time.

I am aware of it.

Many friends are there and praying for harmony

and good will and for love,

restoration of love and respect amongst your people.

And I want to call also on the family of this world,

of all the countries who are looking in,

to say let's gather together and to hold hands and hearts together

to pray that the people of Venezuela come to complete resolution

and that harmony is restored, good will is restored.

And we send you all this love and peace,

all our prayers are with you.

And myself I feel we have so many friends who are presently in Venezuela

and I know that their heart is very, very touched.

Some have cancelled their flights to come to see us

so that they can stay with their people

and to be alongside moment by moment.

I will take my part in that also, to bless you

and peace be with you, peace be with you, peace be with you.

God bless you, God bless you, God bless you.

All love to you, all love to you, all love to you.

All healing and forgiveness where it is needed.

Om Namah Shivaya. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.

Hallelujah. Amen.

How To Reduce Wrinkles Naturally - Duration: 5:42.

How To Reduce Wrinkles Naturally

As you age, you will most certainly notice wrinkles on your skin.

This is an unfortunate fact of life.

But in this video, you will learn about 10 ways that you can reduce your wrinkles and

stay looking younger.

Your friends will be envious of your new youthful look!

Number 1 – Get More Sleep

It is important to get adequate sleep.

When you don't get enough sleep, your body produces excess cortisol, a hormone that breaks

down skin cells.

By getting the sleep that your body needs, you'll produce more HGH (human growth hormone),

which helps skin remain thick, more "elastic," and less likely to wrinkle.

Number 2 – Don't Squint

If you are squinting, then either you need prescription glasses or sunglasses.

In either case, squinting overworks your facial muscles, forming a groove beneath the skin's

surface.

This groove eventually becomes a wrinkle.

Number 3 – Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables have antioxidant compounds.

These compounds fight damage caused by free radicals (unstable molecules that can damage

cells), which in turn helps skin look younger and more radiant, and protects against some

effects of photo-aging.

Number 4 – Use Moisturizer

With so many anti-aging products on store shelves, people often overlook the power of

a simple moisturizer.

However, keeping your skin moisturized will make you look better and younger by making

lines and creases far less noticeable.

Number 5 – Don't Over-Wash Your Face

According to dermatologists at the University of Maryland Medical Center, tap water strips

skin of its natural barrier oils and moisture that protect against wrinkles.

Wash them off too often, and you wash away protection.

Also, unless your soap contains moisturizers, you should use a cleanser instead.

Number 6 – Drink Green Tea

Green tea contains Catechins and Epicatechins.

These are both antioxidants that stop the enzymatic reactions that break down collagen

and Elastin, which are important for maintaining young and wrinkle-free skin.

Number 7 – Don't Smoke

Research continues to show that the skin of smokers ages far quicker than that of non-smokers.

Smoking can break down the skin's natural collagen which makes skin look less firm and

more wrinkled.

If you are trying to quit smoking, try vaping instead.

Studies show it's much better for your health.

Number 8 – Boost Collagen Naturally

Collagen is the protein in your skin that gives it strength and structure.

It's the breakdown of collagen later in life that leads to sagging and wrinkles.

The good news is that you can also boost collagen naturally with your diet.

The best options for collagen-producing agents include bone broth, dark green veggies, meat

(make sure it's organic and well-sourced), egg whites, beans, and cheese.

It's also important to get enough vitamin C internally from citrus fruits, broccoli,

and bell peppers.

Number 9 – Don't Stress

Stress is horrible for your skin.

You've probably experienced the effects already.

In 2015, for example, researchers examined skin in 5,000 participants.

Compared to those experiencing low stress, those suffering from high stress had significantly

more itchy skin, scaly skin, and rashes.

Recent research has confirmed skin both as an immediate stress perceiver and as a target

of stress responses.

In fact, stress causes the skin to release hormones that encourage inflammation, and

also irritates the nerves, which can lead to allergic reactions, disrupts barrier function

(which can dry skin and increase risk of wrinkles), decreases the production of moisturizing lipids,

and slows wound healing.

Number 10 – Limit Sun Exposure

The sun is the top cause of wrinkles.

There are many studies that have found the connection between wrinkles and too much sun.

It is very important to avoid excessive exposure which causes sun damage to the skin.

Wrinkles usually appear on the face, neck and backs of the hands first as they are the

most exposed to the sun.

Sun damage not only makes you look older, but it is also the main cause of skin cancer.

So, the next time you go out in the sun, make sure you slap on loads of sunscreen.
