Waching daily May 3 2017

hey, i'm kat burns, aka kashka.

i write songs for a living.

there are a lot of songs in the world these days, and…y'know.

just a lot of songs.

i sometimes get asked how to not become a cliche, which i think is someone really asking

how not to write a cliche song.

which….could be considered cliche… i don't have all the answers, but i have a few tips.

literally three.

1.

explore metaphors, but interesting ones.

don't just compare love to a rose, that's been done a million times.

use your thinking parts and think outside of the box.

even better is if you think about what you're really trying to say, in a way that comes

from you.

part of being a cliche is sounding like everyone else.

be you. and use a strange or interesting (but not too distracting) metaphor

2. if you don't have a dying burning desire to write about how much you love __so and

so____, then write about something else.

anything else really.

as stated in the beginning of this video, there are a lot of songs in the world.

about 98% of them are about love.

3.

read your lyrics out loud before you sing them You'd be surprised at how much that

changes the way you feel about the.

Sometimes for the best.

Don't read it like a poem though, read it like a shakespearean actor.

for effect.

bonus tip - don't worry about rhyming.

i mean, rhyming is great and an important part of good phrasing, but it's not so important

that you need to compromise your lyrics for the sake of a rhyme.

don't stop on a dime to find the time to rhyme.

(wink)

hope this helped you, and i hope that you share this video with your fellow songwriter

friends.

don't let them be cliches! i'm here every day this month and i'd love if you hit that

susbsirbe button and joined me on the journey.

all the links to my music are down below.

as always guys, stay cool.

cooler than me!

UNBOXING ► JIMIN DOLL PLUSHIE & BTS YNWA (LEFT + RIGHT) - Duration: 28:57.

Hello, it's a beautiful spring day

Beautiful spring day

Welcome to our channel! I am Ann, this is Carol

And today we'll be opening the post!

It's been a long time since we've done any unboxing

But we ordered the newest...

Better late than never

... BTS album

We decided to open it before the camera because we have two versions

The blue and the pink one, left and right version

so we're gonna share our reaction with you

To make it more interesting, because probably everyone already saw those photobooks on the internet,

you know how it looks like

so we'll also make a plush Jimin unboxing

It's just the beginning

Yes, you heard right

A plush Jimin!

I bid it on eBay and I'm really proud of it

If you have me on Facebook then you probably know because I was posting things like 'Keep your fingers crossed' because it was really important

So we can start the unboxing and if you're using the headphones, maybe turn the sound down

You can turn the sound down just in case

(it's too late to heal it)

Because the reactions will be completely natural

If you are new on this channel (Short survival guidebook)

and you are wondering why am I the normal one

Why half of my face is covered with hair

And why we pronounce J-Hope this way

I suggest you watching our other videos

But sometimes I say smart things

and you can watch the whole BTS THEORIES serie

- Hello? (it's never going to be normal...)

Hello?

Just like a typical pack from China because it came to me from...

From China

It's packaged in a trash bag or at least it looks like that

But I can feel the legs

So I should open it this way

It's the head and the head is supposed to come out first

Who am I living with...?

I can't stand it

Take it from me

- Oh God - JIMINSU

Jiminsu

Wait, I have to zoom it cuz it's insane

JIMINSU

My plush Kai will have a friend

And it's gonna be the sickest pairing in K-POP history

HOW FLUFFY HE IS, TOUCH HIM

Okay, you finished

You won't touch him anymore. This is my Jimin

Jiminsu

Do you like it?

I don't know

I'm afraid to look at him

I wanted to say that those dolls are really ugly

But one day during classes I checked eBay

and I typed Jimin doll

And I could bid it

So I was like 'Oh, I'll click here'

And it ended like this

Hip hop monster! Are you sure it's Jimin?

It's written Jimin but looking at this 'Hip hop monster', I'm not that sure

Can you stop touching him?

You wanna take his clothes off?

It's a very good doll

Very touchy

A very good quality of Chinese plush

Yes, a very good quality of Chinese plush

and this is not plush... But it's awesome!

I'm gonna sleep with it

and he won't refuse anymore... (keep hope alive)

We're changing the place so you can see the CDs better

But if you are interested in other stuff

We ordered from kpoptown

The CDs costed around 62PLN

It took a month for them to arrive

The shipping took around two weeks

but we waited till they post the money

and the time between getting a mail about posting the money and a mail about shipping our order was quite long

I paid by PayPal

You can also choose a credit card but PayPal is much more easy for me

I use it quite often when I buy something on eBay

It was really easy for me but I've waited loooong untill they get the money

but they sent the package finally

As I already said, we ordered 2 versions of You Never Walk Alone

and one more CD but you'll see it later

And keep your fingers crossed - maybe we'll get Suga's and Jimin's cards

Or V and J-Hope

or Jimin and Jimin

The package came from Daegu so it's a... D-pack

D-pack

We'll open it now so this video is not 1h long

I'm afraid that I'll do something wrong

You will cut the photobook in half

It says that it weighs 6kg

It's not 6kg, don't believe them

But it means they lied to us

Wooow

More things happen

Okay

I think we don't need it anymore

Something is happening...

Tape! Please, cut the tape

Sister

- One more tape - Scalpel

Everyone who likes the bubble wrap, give your thumbs up!

Yes, but I'm not able to cut it!

But it doesn't mean that if you dislike the bubble wrap you leave thumbs down, remember

HOW BIG IS THAT

Okay now I know why it's so heavy and so big

It's a piece of the You Never Walk Alone photoshoot

with ice cream

It's my beautiful album!

Yes

Now you know why I dressed like this today

It's really interesting, I have pink hair, it's just...

IT'S MY ALBUM

WE'RE SICK

Can I reach for mine already?

It's so beautiful and big

Beautiful and big, wow...

If fits me perfectly

You probably noticed that here...

We have one more album!

And this album is for you!

Not for everyone

For one person who will attend the contest

A contest for our 100th episode

As you can see, we are getting more and more prizes for you

But we don't have all of them

But it's the main one

So we're killing the surprise

A pretty, new album

It's for you

We welcome you, me and my friend. And it's my first unboxing on this channel

I'm a bit nervous

I hope it'll be fine and I won't do something wrong

And it'll survive

And that I'll get Suga, please, let it be Suga

I'm gonna be so gentle I'll never open it

If anyone asks me why I chose the blue CD

it's simple - I liked it more

I like this bus stop more than some pipes

I also liked the photobook more but both are beautiful

these are really simple reasons why I chose this one

And it's really awesome that...

We have two different albums

it's gonna be more interesting and like I already said, I'll never open it

Because I'm too careful

I can smell it

The smell of a new album

it reminds me of something... It's so beautiful!

Okay

So fast?

Really, that fast?

I just opened it!

I'm scared

Jimin

This is Jimin

This is Jimin

Oh my God, it's Jimin

Why?! (I love Jimin)

WHY

Why...

Okay

Jimin

It was my reaction

To this card

I'm watching

I love mint

It's very interesting

If you wanna know, my favorite song from this album is 'First Love'

And I love this song

But I feel completely tricked

Because...

I was sure that those lyrics are about BTS, their feelings and so on

But it's mostly Demian turned into music

That's why I feel tricked

Why it's not Hoseok's card...

Why?

He is so perfect

Here we have JiHope moment

and I was hated for this pairing on Bykon convention by everyone who doesn't ship this pairing

And I used it quite often in Crack videos

Oh God

I love photos where they show their true selves - 100% derps

JIMIN

WHY

Have you ever wondered why Koreans wear those knee socks?

BTS wear those knee socks very often

Oh Gosh, so sweet...

Like sugar

The maknae looks like the oldest one and the most normal one

This is uncensored

They didn't tell us it's +18

I have an inner heart attack and I'm trying not to show it

Oh my God

Suga with blue highlights is life

WHY I DON'T GET A SUGA PHOTOCARD BUT I GOT JIMIN

IT'S A SCHEME

I don't know... Do you see it?

He is so perfect

PERFECT

Kookie, what are you doing?

Why?

Why are you doing this to me?

But I like Jimin, he's okay, he looks good in pink

But Jimin is...

But Jimin... Jimin

You know what I mean. And if you don't,

you should watch the video with out BTS experience

Jin's hair...

I love this photo

I love this photo!

I love Hoseok's face

It's really interesting

I skip this guy today

Why not you?

I love this pic too

And this one

Everything is so mint

Standie?

I can have my own bus stop

I can put it somewhere

I have my beautiful bus stop

I'm watching

Did you see Yoongi's face?

Yoongi's face...

Can you see it?

I love each of them

I cannot choose my bias but why I got Jimin's photocard?

Why?

And you know who will get it, right?

But only if she gets a photocard I want

I really like Jimin, I like his voice,

but I'm not Jimin-biased at all!

I love him but I could have him as my brother

He would call me Noona

and everyone would live happily ever after

I just can't stand it

It's some kind of a punishment

Black and white pictures

Everyone is laughing here

Yoongi looks like he doesn't know what he's doing and that live exists

Totally normal

Peachy and mint

We decided today that those colors don't fit with each other

Oh my God

Everything's in Korean...

You can see who is my bias...

Nope

God...

V is very photogenic, everyone is

The same picture from the back

And the CD

Of course, I've listened to it like a mln times

This is what I got

Like I already said, I chose this version because I like the cover more

and I liked the photobook more

And the CD is the same so why would I choose something else, not the one I like more?

But this photobook...

Those photos are amazing

Everything's like...

Keep your fingers crossed for Carol, maybe she'll get a photocard I want

If not, you know where to find me

I wanted to say you're not gonna look for her

Because I won't leave without this card and it's her house

She knows nothing about life

Matching hair, matching nails

It's perfect

and matching album as well

Everything fits perfectly

It's my turn to open my pink album and my assistant Jimin will help me

My album is pink... Because it's pink

Nah, we had this idea that we should order two different CDs and record it so you can see the differences

But let's ignore the fact that it fits my hair and nails

I'm gonna open it and it's really stressful

But I wanna talk about this

It's the best picture ever!

V looks like... Where is he?

V looks like a perfect man

My album is easy to open

I'm wondering if I'll get my photocard as soon as Ann did and I'm really nervous

She is crossing her fingers in the back, it has to be Suga

Or Hoseok or Jin

Or maybe a second Jimin?

I don't have a photocard right in the beginning

I'll find my surprise later on

This pink color is really beautiful

Pipes

Those pipes are not super attractive but I hope the rest is much more beautiful

This photoshoot is perfect

I won't tell you anything about this hair

Everyone looks perfect on this photoshoot but Jin's hair is a mistake

He looks perfect

What's about those ice creams, why is it blue?!

When Ann was watching hers, I was like...

There is something about this lollipop, it relates to Blood Sweat & Tears because Kookie had a lollipop there

It's like that

And they have ice cream

God

V is made for photoshoots

I think it's uncensored

This one even more

What's with the blue color?

He looks good

What's with this ice cream... Is it a flower...? It is a flower!

There is a flower on this ice cream, people

It's not good

We have to analyse it

The lyrics...

More ice cream

Those ice cream are full of flowers?!

Daisies?

Come on

Have a nice meal

It looks like Abraxas' wings...

Ann has a breakdown at the moment but I can't... My brain is just demaged

But don't you think so?!

It's totally the same!

Next!

It looks like feathers

He has an ice cream without flowers

What a difference!

It's sick!

It shouldn't exist!

This is 18+ and this one is 3+

I'm gonna stay here longer

I will definitely stay here longer

Ann would probably skip it

and I will just stay here

I also wanna pay your attention to the fact that he has NEVERMIND on this sweater

This is life... Jimin with pink hair is life!

He is perfect, I admit that

What is it?

I don't see it

I don't ship it

Someone in the back is saying something but I can't hear anything

He has flowers

Maybe this color... Nah, next!

Where is my photocard?!

This photoshoot... I've never seen this picture before

What is that...?

Okay, next

Here we have confetti

He seems high

And he even more

It's so...

This is just... What is it?

Why is it black and white and has...? Nope, next!

I don't have time for that right now, next

A fly tries to be a star now...

Pretty

Even though you can't see their faces, it's so perfect

This is the best picture ever!

THE BEST

and I just cut my finger

Where is my photocard?

I have Jimin right here

Ah, Suga

More Suga

I thought it's the same picture

It's just... OMG

Next before it's too late!

I'm really nervous

It's the same picture as at the back

I've never seen many of those picture. Are they hidden somewhere on the Internet?

I didn't expect this. It was really sudden

However...

Do you remember what I said awhille ago about his hair?

Jin hair here is some kind of mistake

This is the proof

But the photocard is pretty! What? I don't understand

This is my photocard with Jin

Maybe you already know who is Jin biased in this Unbridled Buffalo duo

I'll put it here

I'll continue

He looks like a dwarf

What is that?

Those pics are...

I really haven't seen many of those photos

It's just... Is it a lamp?

But what...

I thought it's an elephant but nevermind

It's just...

I will just print bigger versions and put them as my wallpaper

I haven't seen this and this one... Why his hand is blue?

As always some...

BigHit website and so on

It's beautiful!

The hair

This hair is horrible... But I really like Jin!

but they did wrong to him with that hair!

Suga...

Ah, thanks to...

Why not for us?

COME ON, IT'S TOO MUCH

Why does he have so many thank-you?

Wait

This is Rap Monster's

and this is Jimin's

Maybe Jimin is more thankful

or maybe he thanked hamsters or something...

everyone

The blonde girl in the 1st row who he refused

He's too much

This is just perfect

This is my bus stop!

We were wondering if it's going to look the same but it's the same

I will have my own altar at home

And it'll be in the background on theories videos

Jimin is also going to be at the background and there will be a lot of BTS

How amazing it is...

I wanna see the CD

I told Ann already but when she was watching her photobook, I completely forgot about the CD and I was like...

What?

Why there's a CD?

Yeah, I bought a photobook only

It's a really beautiful CD

Pink

GOD

I'm gonna listen to it

Not that I don't listen to it because I analyse the lyrics all the time but it's just...

I'm extremely happy

I'm in love

I have my Jin

They got to be kidding us

Those photocards...

It's a joke

But the album is amazing and I really, really, really love it!

I couldn't wait to get it!

Ann will agree because when I saw that this package is in Warsaw,

I just burst

Ann got million messages like...

ANN, THE PACKAGE IS IN WARSAW

It arrived and we have it here!

And a CD for you!

And we hope that you will tell us everything after you get this CD

Maybe unboxing or something?

If anyone wants Jin

I will exchange him for 1mln Jimins

I have one

To sum up,

we have two You Never Walk Alone albums

photocards with Jin and Jimin

Of course, we exchanged them

Yeah, it was like this... But the fight was tough

We have a plush Jimin and it's completely normal!

But I have to show you something, wait, I just have to!

It's 18+ rated!

But it's so sick

Here

He has a tail!

It's a tiny Jimin tail...

I have to fix his clothes

Now you can open your eyes

We also have two bus stops!

And we're extremely happy!

WE FINALLY HAVE THEM

'Finally' is a good word

because we waited a looooooong time to buy any BTS CD

This album refers to the theories because we have all the short films here

And this is why those CDs are quite important for us

And from now on, I'm running this channel with Jimin

Thank you!

For those ARMYs who have no idea how they got here because there were many ARMYs like this under our video about KCON

We promise that it wasn't as weird as it can be

But we suggest you watching our others BTS videos

You can find BTS theories which are way more smarter

You can find the crack videos!

And they're not normal at all

But if you're looking for BTS, check our channel!

And in UBTV you can find all the other K-POP groups which are worth knowing

So subscribe and leave the comments!

And if you have this album or any other BTS album

Tell us what photocards you got!

Maybe any of you is as crazy as she is and bought a plush Jimin!

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM

Or maybe any other plush BTS toy

I have also Kai from EXO

Or Kai from EXO

You can also write about it in the comments because we like reading your stories!

Maybe it will help us to think that we're not the only one

Thank you for watching this video!

We're saying bye! Me, mint Ann

and pastel pink Carol

and Jimin

It was an accident

I'm done

Trey Gowdy: Wrong to Allege Michael Flynn Committed Crime - Duration: 2:12.

Rep. Trey Gowdy said Tuesday he disagrees with two fellow members of the House Oversight

Committee who say former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn may have violated federal

law.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the Utah Republican who chairs the committee, and ranking Democratic

member Elijah Cummings of Maryland said last Tuesday they had seen no evidence Flynn, a

retired Army lieutenant general had complied with the law to disclose payments he received

for making a speech to the Russian government-run television station RT or that he had received

permission from the State Department or Pentagon to give the speech.

Gowdy, a Republican representing South Carolina, is a former federal prosecutor and told Fox

News Channel's "Tucker Carlson Tonight" that while Congress has a role to investigate issues

of the public interest or relating to the Constitution, "We are dreadful at investigating

crime, and we should not attempt to do so.

That is why you don't hear me alleging that people committed crimes."

"It doesn't stop your colleagues, I notice," Carlson interjected in reference to Chaffetz

and Cummings.

"It doesn't," Gowdy said, "and that disappoints me because I think you ought to wait until

all of the evidence is in and ask the jury to draw whatever conclusion you want."

A person has only one reputation, he said, and it is easy to accuse someone of a criminal

act.

"We do it, unfortunately, in modern-day culture a lot," Gowdy said.

"It is just unfair to the individual, no matter who's doing it."

Thank you listen! please subscribe to check news.

Please turn on cc if you can't hear voice clearly.

I'm Allison.

Present Simple Tense (Routines) - Easy English Grammar - Duration: 5:09.

I wake up, I brush my teeth, I have a shower.

These are things we do every day, so it's really important we know how to speak about

them in English.

In this video, I tell you how to speak about your daily life as well as what other people

do as a routine.

Stay tuned, as I make present simple for routines, easy.

Hi everyone, how are you?

I'm Edward from English Made Easy, and in this lesson we're going to learn how to talk

about our routines.

Routines are things we do every day, or at least regularly in our daily life.

Think about what you do in the morning.

It's probably the same every day, right?

You wake up, you check your phone, maybe you have breakfast, drink coffee, take a shower.

These are called our routines.

For something to be a routine, we have to do it again, and again, and again.

If you go and meet your friends for dinner on Friday night, that's not a routine, that's

an activity.

But if you meet them every Friday night, that's a routine.

When talking about routine activities, we use present simple tense.

While present simple is quite basic, there are some elements which can make it confusing.

We'll learn about positive statements, negative statements, but also about what other people

do or do not do.

We'll begin today by looking at the affirmative statements of present simple.

An affirmative statement, is one that use the positive form of a grammar rule.

Some examples for routines would be: "I wake up at 08:00.", "They drink coffee when they

get to work.", "We play tennis every Saturday.", "You live in London.".

You can see the grammatical structure of present simple tense is the subject plus the 'base

form' or 'verb 1'.

Hopefully those examples are pretty easy for you, but things are about to get a little

bit more complicated.

You would've noticed in those 4 examples I used the pronouns I, you, we and they.

When we use the pronouns he, she and it, we have to change the verb a little bit.

We put an '-s' or '-es' on the end.

Here are some examples to help make that clearer.

"She wakes up at 08:00.", "He drinks coffee at home every day.", "The store opens at 09:30.".

Again, the structure remains the same, but this time we need to add "-s" or "-es" to

the end of the verb.

Remembering that the structure of present simple changes depending on the subject is

really important, because it isn't only true for affirmative statements, it's also true

for negative statements.

To make things really clear, I'm going to use the exact same statements as before, but

change them from affirmative form into their negative form.

So, if we have the subjects I, they, we or you, we add "don't" before the verb to make

the statement negative.

For example, "I don't wake up at 08:00.", "They don't drink coffee when they get to

work.", "We don't play tennis every Saturday.", "You don't live in London.".

Just as with the affirmative statements, the subjects he, she and it change the structure

a little bit.

This time, instead of saying "don't", we have to use "doesn't".

Something really important to note, however, is that we no longer need to put '-s' or '-es'

at the end of the verb.

Let's go back to our previous examples, and rewrite them in their negative form.

"She doesn't wake up at 08:00.", "He doesn't drink coffee at home every day.", "The store

doesn't open at 09:30.".

The structure of these negative statements, therefore, is the subject plus 'doesn't' plus

verb 1.

Making a negative statement when talking about routines is really easy, as long as you know

what the affirmative statement is.

Just don't forget when to use "don't", and when to use "doesn't".

As with all my videos, I've made a summary page to help you remember all the information

I've given you.

Head over to our Facebook page, to learn more.

Also this actor, two of them actually are used by BP_VRCharacter

which is used in VR mode

and another one is used in BP_GamepadCharacter

which is a little bit tricky because

we're using the same code paths for VR and gamepad operations

which gives huge profit, because there is less code

and less features that can be bugged

the other important actor is BI_Interactive, it's an interface

this interface has to be implemented on all actors

that wants to be part of some interaction with BP_InteractionController

so this controller scans for overlapping actors

asks them: Hey do you implement BI_Interactive interface ?

if yes - its methods are used

first of all interactive actor can have more than one component

and only few of them can be interactive

for example a handle

this is a good example

pickable complex

only this pickable center can be grabbed by hand

and those 2 cylinders can't

this method returns true if interactions controller finds component that is interactive

and then if this component is interactive

tohse two methods can be used

OnInteractionActivate and OnInteractionDeactivate

you can use them to for example highlight an object

let me show this, gamepad gamemode and selected viewport

this is white glow - interaction activate and deactivate

you can handle this as you want

each interactive object can handle this different way

so it depends on you

the if you want to begin real interaction

OnInteractionStart and OnInteractionStop methods have to be implemented

so again, it depends on interactive object

how it would handle interaction

if ti wants to be grabbed by physics handle or if it wants to execute some action

all implementation has to be done here in this method

in the interactive object

for example

if I use slider

interactive object tell us there is a physics constraint

interactions controller has no knowledge about interactive object will behave

this is pretty flexible

the other example is a lever

it's just another configuration of components

lever blueprint decides how to consume physics input

another interesting example is a button

there is no physics interaction but button has logic that controlls press and release actions

you'll notice this when we'll analyze blueprints

interaction cancelling

sometimes there is a case when

an object held by hand

wants to cancel interaction

and to do this properly this object should implement WantsInteractionCancelled method

which is a part of BI_Interactive interface

the last method that you have to know

as long as this metod returns false

an interaction can last forever

when held object or interactive object decides to cancel interaction

it could return true here

an then

interactions controller

this one

interactions controller... will know that interaction has to be cancelled

and calls StopInteraction method

here

this is how it works

I'll grab ths ball and it will decide to drop itself after five seconds

interaction cancelled

the same with this slider

in comparison to the regular one

can be controlled from pretty far distance

but this one

will cancel as soon as I make a step back

it depends on you, how you will implement this

simple picking

all of those four tables are filled with tools

that are created with one blueprint template

it's BP_PickableSimple

but before I show you an implementation

let's focus on the difference

I'll start this in the gamepad mode

you have to notice that this will work the same way in VR mode

the first one has no constraints

as you can see

grab location is custom

also rotation is custom

this tool can rotate freely

the other one where you can attach to any place on a tool

but rotation is atached to the controller

the other one

has also no constraints

but the physics grab is soft

it's like a spring

and the last one

also soft physics grab

but rotation is snapped to controller

let's move to implementation

the first common thing is that OnInteractionActivate

when object is activated

we change GlowActive parameter in material instance

this causes the material to glow a litle bit

on the other hand, when it's deactivated, we change it back to zero, so it gets natural color back

IsInteractiveComponent

we want to interact with static mesh component

this is the only one mesh that is interactive here

so we have to compare

if given component is equal to static mesh

we would like to return true

to tell interactions component

hey this is the component that we want to interact with

InteractionStart

this is a PhysicsGrab method call, the most commonly used method for interactions

and there is some configuration here

each of those tables (tool tables) use different options

you have to just track actors in the scene

and check what options are chosen here

if this is soft grab and snap type SnapToController

NoSnap and SnapCustom will be clarified in another video

InteractionStop

happens when the trigger is released

then we want to release physics grab

and of course, WantsInteractionCancelled

returns always false, which means that this actor don't want to cancel interaction at any time

advanced picking

we have three another examples

let me introduce how they works in gamepad mode

it would work the same way in VR mode

the first one is custom grab location and no rotation snap

each of those three objects has defined grab location

I can try attach to this object at any point and it would snap at only one location

of course rotation is free

additionaly you have to notice that grab location is defined with a vector

so you can change it in an editor

ok, next one

custom grab location and rotation snap to controller

this is a little bit of a mix of the previous configurations

because grab location is still defined by vector location

but rotation is controlled by motion controller

so there is no free rotation

ok, and the last one

which is a connection of a previous two examples

there is always defined location and defined rotation of the grab

so this is the best option if you want to hold a bow or some pistol or some other weapon

physics interaction and other options

all interactive objects use physics grab

with different parameters

those parameters were detailed when I talked about those keys and advanced picking

it's the same method for slider, crank and lever

but there is small difference in a button

which don't use physics interaction

this time I'd like to talk about buttons

the difference is that OnInteractionStart method

don't call PhysicsGrab method from interaction controller

but implements its own logic

OnButtonToggle

which in fact is just a simple timeline that moves static mesh with SetRelativeLocation method

let's talkabout complex picking and complicated objects

for example this one

contains a few components

but only one is interactive - PickableCenter

this feature is implemented here

IsInteractiveComponent method

if given component is a PickableCenter, he interaction is possible

so that OnInteractionActivate will be called for this component

it would be PickableCenter

and if user decides tu push the trigger

this component will be passed also here

how it works ?

as you can see actor reacts only when I intersect with PickableCenter

on the other hand, another example is a bit more interesting

this pot has been built of 3 actors

the first type is pickable hand

with just a simple physics grab

so there is nothing more to tell about it

and another part is BP_Pot

which is just a simple static mesh

that simulate physics and has gravity enabled

the difference between those is that here we have three actors

and here we have one actor with three components

but if you try to build one actor with two interactive components

that simulate physics, something wierd can happen

it's much easier option to build those complex scenarios from for example three actors

and connect them with physics constraint actor

configured to lock everything

as you can see

we have two of them

left hand and right hand

let's check how it works

pretty nice

I can also grab this pot with two hands

to do this I'll need o switch to VR mode

wait a second please

let's move to example part

this time I'll show you how to create just a simple interactive object with properties like this key

and it would be a ball

I'll start with creating just pure blueprint

this blueprint don't need to derive from any specific class

it could be an actor, it could be your class, it could be a pawn

there is no base class requirement

the only one requirement is that this blueprint has to implement our interactions interface

let's move to class settings

choose our interface

BI_Interactive

as soon as you do this

some methods will appear here

and what we'll do next is to implement those methods

now we have to define: How this object wants to be handled ?

again - this is the major rule behind our system

interactions controller (motion controller) that you keep in your hand

don't want to know how to handle objects

if this would be doors or weapon or something else

interactive objects has to implement this on their side

this gives you a lot of freedom

let's begin with some static mesh

with hypnotic sphere

default parameters are ok

this is how it looks like

let's begin with our methods

WantsInteractionCancelled

we don't want our ball to cancel interaction so this should return false

IsInteractiveComponent

the only one interactive component in this actor is static mesh

so when interactions controller asks: Hey is this your interactive component, you wan't to say Yes

OnInteractionActivate

this is the place where glow material parameter was changed

this time we'll make it differently

or actually we can use this component, it would be the same as this one

SetWorldScale3D

let's make it bigger, just a little bit

ok

and when activation stops

OnInteractionDeactivate

let's get back to regular size

last two methods are here

OnInteractionStart

what do we want to do when player press trigger

we want to grab this object by physics handle

there is method prepared for this operation

component the same as previously

this could be soft

we want location SnapToController

so this field can be left default

and rotation also SnapToController, so we don't have to fill this

what has left ?

I think that's it, we can try to play

no, sorry, OnInteractionStop

what happens when user release his trigger ?

we want to release physics grab

and that's it

let's test it

I forget about most important

we need to place it on the map

LOUD SOUND WARNING (htc vive mic)

as you can see it changes it's shape when I

intersect with static mesh

and when I press my trigger

oops... it's not working

let's check it out

it's not working because I forget about one detail

this component has to simulate physics

let's check it one more time

activation, yep

interaction, yes

and we have ball

pretty easy

thank you!

Filipino Street Food Tour - BALUT and KWEK KWEK at Quiapo Market, Manila, Philippines! - Duration: 22:57.

- Hey everyone, it's Mark Wiens.

I am hangin out with my buddy.

- Anton Diaz.

- This is Anton.

And we are in Manila,

in the heart of Manila in Quiapo,

and we came here to eat Filipino street food.

So we're gonna show you some of the most

iconic Filipino street foods,

right in Quiapo market.

(Filipino music)

Along with the Quiapo church,

which you can visit,

you can come here for a really interesting,

unique market in Manila.

There's lots of street food there.

It's like a flea market,

an open air flea market,

where you can buy all sorts of things

and even just walking around here

and just observing the cultures is very fascinating.

(announcement in foreign language)

So packed,

and there's so much going on

there's fruit,

there's a lot of fresh ingredients as well.

But then I'm also seeing a lot of dried fish,

a lot of street food snacks,

full of everything you can imagine,

and lots of street food tucked in every corner.

(children singing)

Oh look at all these dried fish.

(people shouting)

- Sotanghon? You want Sotangon?

- [Mark] Yes, please.

It's called Tanghon?

Sotanghon.

The first street food we're gonna try is,

they have a number of different

noodle-looking dishes,

and I think this one is Mung Bean noodles,

and I'm not sure what else,

but some spices,

and it's made into kind of a soupy dish.

(people talking)

What is the name of this dish?

- [Anton] Sotanghon.

- [Mark] Sontanghon.

- Soup. So it's a glass noodle with egg,

and then palabok,

one of the popular Filipino pansit.

- [Mark] We just got some front row seats

on some chef's table, yeah.

Okay.

There's an egg in here,

there's the Mung Bean noodles,

they're long beans,

there's shallots.

Oh and there's some bits of meat in here too Anton.

Oh it's hot! Mmm! Oh yeah.

It's a little bit salty and a little bit,

kind of like oily,

the broth is kind of oily,

but then those noodles,

they just kind of slide right down,

you barely need to chew them and they just slide.

I'm gonna dig into this egg.

Oh yeah, an egg makes everything better.

Oh yeah.

You cannot eat this fast because it's so hot.

Oh that yolk is on fire.

So now you can do some seasoning,

so I'm gonna squeeze in a calamansi,

give it a little bit of a citrusy-ness to it.

And then also,

this is like fish sauce.

Add in a little bit of fish sauce.

Sprinkle in some pepper.

(dishes clatter)

This is really a slurping,

oh, that almost slurped right out of my mouth,

this is really a dish you've gotta slurp.

Just been given some rice cakes,

and these are like,

I think they're steamed rice cakes.

Break a piece of this,

and they said that it should be eaten

along with the soup.

It's a little bit sweet,

and very very spongy.

And a little bit sour as well.

This little street food stall is so tight

that we had to set up the camera

across the food from us

so then Anton and I had got front row,

these are the best seats in the whole

street food stall.

(Anton laughs)

And we just finished with our bowl

of the glass noodles,

and now we've got another dish.

What's this dish?

- [Anton] This dish is palabok.

- [Mark] Palabok?

- Yeah, and also, actually,

(Anton speaks Filipino with vendor)

topped with poku, tinapa, chicharon.

- [Mark] Chicharon, okay.

- Before you eat it, you have to

- Squeeze out some calamansi?

- [Anton] Of course!

- [Mark] Of course!

(both laugh)

- [Anton] And you also eat it with puto,

the rice cake.

- Oh this is a great atmosphere.

(Anton laughs)

Awesome place.

And then the key to this dish

is you've gotta fully mix it all

with the sauce, with the noodles,

with all those toppings,

that chicharon in there.

and there's minced meat I think in here as well?

- [Anton] Yeah, yeah, tinapa, which is fish.

- [Mark] Oh and fish also?

And tofu?

So there's a lot of ingredients

in this little plate of food.

You gotta eat it fast

before it all slides off your fork.

That's awesome man!

It's kind of like goopy.

But then you've got,

what I can really taste is the fried garlic in there.

The fried garlic is really nice in there.

And it's like goopy and sticky

and this is just a wonderful street food,

Filipino street food.

Thank you very much!

Thank you very much.

- Thank you, bye bye.

- [Mark] Sarap. - Sarap.

- [Anton] And you say salamat.

- [Mark] Salamat.

Okay that was absolutely awesome.

And you just cannot get a better

street food environment than that.

(Filipino music)

This is a market where you can come

to really get a feel of the real Manila.

It really feels like

you're in the heart of Manila here.

The action, every,

there's so many things for sale

and people are really friendly at this market as well.

Hello!

- Hello!

- It's a great place.

When you're in Manila,

this is a place you wanna come explore

if you wanna really feel the culture of Manila.

(people shouting)

It's very busy today.

Is it like this every day?

Oh okay, it's like this every day.

(music playing in distance)

This is a super human traffic jam.

Alright we made it through that intersection.

(announcement over crowd)

- [Anton] One of the iconic places here

is the Quiapo Church.

- Okay, and we're standing right next to

Quiapo Church right now.

- Yes, and it's home to the Black Nazarene,

which is very miraculous.

People believe if you pray to,

if you have a devotion to the Black Nazarene,

it creates miracles in your life.

- [Mark] Wow that's awesome.

(announcer over crowd)

- [Anton] When we were growing up as a child,

so fish ball, fish ball carts.

- [Mark] Are they all fish balls?

Is there chicken balls as well?

- No, this is fish ball,

squid ball, and what you call kikiam,

like a Chinese.

- [Mark] All mixed?

- Yeah.

- [Mark] Okay.

- Yeah, so you just get.

- [Mark] We're standing right in front of the church

so it's a little loud.

I hope you can hear me.

And so Anton,

you just grab a stick yourself?

- Yeah.

- [Mark] And then you just poke whatever you want.

- Yes, but you get the toasted ones,

usually the brown ones.

- [Mark] You want the brown ones

because those are more crispy.

- Yeah, in a sense.

- [Mark] Okay, so you then just

choose as many as you want on a stick.

- Yeah, ah you can put it here, yeah.

- You just choose as many as you want on a stick

and then you add the sauce, okay.

- You can, now it's water,

and you have to, you can put it in a cup.

- [Mark] Oh you have a fork here to push it on.

(Mark and Anton laugh)

That's awesome.

Come on.

(man singing over speaker)

Alright.

Then you stick it in the cup?

- [Anton] Yeah, you put it in the cup.

Then you put,

- [Mark] And then you move over to the

sauce station

- [Anton] Sauce bar, yeah.

- [Mark] Where you add in your own

sauce into the cup.

- Filipino food is known for sauces.

- And lots of vinegar as well yeah?

- Lots of vinegar, lots of sauce,

so you can add with onions, with chili, yeah.

And so you usually have a cup

so that people don't double dip,

so you create your own sauce.

- I think this is my favorite sauce here.

And you take the spoon.

(stall owner shouts)

Oh ya that looks good.

Do I need more, or is that good?

- [Anton] Yeah just put more, and vinegar.

- [Mark] Add some more vinegar.

- [Anton] Alright, and then.

- [Mark] And add some more sauce?

- [Anton] Yeah, this is sweet.

- [Mark] I'll just go with vinegar,

let it absorb all of that vinegar,

and those onions, and those chilis.

Grab some of those chilis.

Alright I got three different types of fish balls here.

(choir singing)

Oh it's still pretty hot!

It kind of has a gooey texture.

The vinegar mix is what really makes it good.

The vinegar and those onions and chilis.

Oh look at that bite.

(choir singing)

They're like hardy fish balls.

- [Anton] These are a childhood favorite.

Brings back childhood memories.

You know and having mass, and then after mass.

- [Mark] Okay.

And I love the culture of just

standing here around the cart, eating.

It's so atmospheric and so much fun.

Anton was just talking to the owner

of this street food stall,

and he actually said that they are chicken balls.

- Yeah, because they like it bigger,

and it's two pesos.

- Two pesos per ball that we just ate?

- Per ball yeah.

So it's more profitable.

- Ah okay.

- The fish balls are smaller and one peso or less.

- [Mark] Okay, okay so they're actually chicken balls here.

And then right next door to the chicken ball stand

is a dried squid stand.

And this looks delicious.

I smelled it,

and I knew that's what we need to eat next.

These are just the squid bodies.

And then I'm also gonna get,

two please.

And those are the squid heads.

So those are just gonna grill,

those are gonna toast over the hot coals,

it looks really fast.

Go ahead, go ahead.

- [Anton] With chili, of course!

- [Mark] Chili.

- [Anton] Tastes so good.

- [Mark] Tastes so good.

- [Anton] Yeah.

- [Mark] You need to get a lot of onions on there.

Is it onions or shallots?

- [Anton] Onions, yeah?

- [Mark] And what you can do is

you can try to scoop up as much onions

and chilis and vinegar as you can

on top of your squid.

Alright man.

- Alright.

(both laughing)

- I was trying not to do that.

They're really tight.

They're really tight on the skewer

so if you pull too hard

all the onions come flying off.

- [Anton] That's what happens.

- Oh, that's amazing though.

Oh that's delicious.

It's like, yeah,

it's salty dried squid.

Has a little bit of a crispiness to it.

And then,

hello.

- Hi.

- But I love it with that vinegar and those onions.

- [Anton] Yeah.

- That's delicious.

That is a wonderful Filipino street food.

- Hey, we have to go, because of the mass.

- Oh. - You have to dip this.

- Okay.

What's your name?

- Patrick.

- [Anton] This is yours.

- [Mark] You can have that.

- Nano.

- Natali.

- [Mark] My name is Mark.

- Patrick.

- [Mark] Patrick. Nice to meet you.

(speaking Filipino)

- [Mark] Bye bye.

Quiapo market, there's two sides, right?

- [Anton] Yeah, yeah.

- One is by the church,

surrounding the church.

- And one is around here.

- [Mark] So we just crossed over the street.

(woman speaking Filipino)

Oh do you pick and choose?

Oh you get bowls.

Oh okay.

(Anton speaking Filipino with vendor)

We are at the next street food stall,

and here we're gonna eat kwek-kwek,

which are,

it's one of the most famous of all

Filipino street foods.

- Yeah, it's quail egg.

Quail egg with flour.

- Looks like it's ready.

Thank you.

And then you add your own sauce.

Thank you.

These are one-day-old chickens.

And she deep fried them

and then she put it on top of our kwek-kwek,

which are quail eggs with flour batter

deep fried around it.

And so then you move over here to the sauce,

condiment station.

Gotta go in for some onions.

And also a lot of that chili, oh yeah.

A one-day-old with some good chili on it.

And then I think I'll just go straight

for the vinegar next.

You can never have too much vinegar

on a one-day-old.

(Filipino music)

(Anton speaks Filipino to vendor)

Okay.

- It's so good.

- It's boney.

It's crispy.

It's like meaty, it's rubbery.

Okay, next up are the kwek-kwek,

which are quail eggs in the batter.

And I think you can one-bite this as well.

Oh yeah, that is a big mouthful.

But you got the really creamy egg yolk

in the center

and then it's like crispy

and very fluffy batter on the outside.

Alright, so we are moving on

to the next street food.

(Filipino music)

So this is for takeaway.

Very cool, yeah, the national sport.

Basketball is the favorite sport in the Philippines.

So you'll just walk around in the neighborhoods

and basically in any spare place throughout Manila

you'll see little basketball courts.

So this is just in the neighborhood.

What's up man?

Hi.

Watch out.

(kids speaking Filipino)

Watch out, watch out.

(car engine rumbles)

Yeah, balut.

- [Vendor] 18, oh maybe 16, 17.

- [Mark] These are duck eggs right?

- [Vendor] Duck eggs.

Anton and I still have not eaten

the most famous,

or maybe it's the most infamous,

Filipino street food,

and that is balut.

- Balut.

- [Mark] And Balut is a duck egg

which is partly fertilized,

it's an embryo.

- [Anton] Yeah, and usually it's 16, 18 days.

These one are 18 days old, okay.

- Okay so they have different stages

of the duck egg.

You can get one that's eight days,

or you can get one that's six, 12 days,

or 16 days, or 18 days.

- Or 18 days.

- 18 days. That's what he said, these are 18 days?

- So, if it's 18 days,

just imagine you would see the

chicken developed already, in a sense.

- [Mark] A more developed chicken.

- Yeah, with beak.

(Anton laughs)

- [Mark] With feathers and, okay.

- [Anton] More developed duck, sorry.

- Okay so he said he has 18-day-old balut,

and that's what we're ordering right now.

Here's the balut.

Oh it's nice and hot.

This is a steamer so the eggs are kept nice and hot.

And this is a pretty good-sized egg.

Check that out.

That's a fistful and it's very nice and warm.

(vendor speaking Filipino)

Crack this egg?

This one yeah?

- Yeah, yeah.

- Okay, alright.

- So the pointed one.

- Oh the pointed side down.

It's pretty even.

Oh this is the pointed side?

- Yeah this one is pretty even, but they know.

(both laughing)

- [Mark] Okay so then you crack it.

(egg shell cracking)

And then kind of peel back

a little bit of that.

There should be some soup in here right?

- [Anton] Yes.

- One of the best things about eating balut

in the Philippines is that

there are many different components

all in a single shell.

So first you've got to drink the soup.

There's some natural juices and soup

inside of the shell, so you drink that first.

- Alright.

- Oh that's delicious.

(Anton laughs)

Oh, that's just like concentrated chicken soup.

- Yeah, it's chicken soup.

- Oh wow.

That's like the purest of all chicken soup

because there's no added anything,

it's just straight from the shell.

- Yeah.

- [Mark] Oh yeah, you can now see

you can start to see the embryo in there.

- [Anton] The hairs.

- Oh the hairs, oh some juices.

Alright, there we go, yeah you can see those feathers.

- [Anton] Wow.

- [Mark] You can definitely see those feathers now.

Okay I'm gonna add some salt.

- Yes.

- [Mark] And vinegar, chili vinegar.

Okay, I'm gonna season my balut next.

So add a little bit of salt.

- [Vendor] A little bit, a little bit.

- [Mark] Alright, a little bit of salt on there.

And then, so I wanna get some chili vinegar,

which is my,

yeah this is my seasoning,

my condiment of choice in the Philippines.

(Anton chuckles)

Oh yeah, season that with some good vinegar.

- [Anton] Oh, yeah. Yeah good.

- You can definitely see all of the feathers,

all of the feathers on this balut.

That is 18 days old.

Okay I'm gonna go in for the chick

since it's on the top here.

Oh I think that is a chicken foot right there.

See that?

- [Anton] Ah yeah.

- [Mark] Alright.

Wow, those are definitely feathers.

There's no denying that in your mouth.

But they are kinda like slimy feathers

with a very strong poultry flavor.

A very strong like duck,

actually I taste more of a chicken flavor

than a duck flavor.

- [Anton] That's the best part.

- [Mark] That's a giant yolk, wow.

- [Anton] Ah that's so yummy.

- [Mark] Wow look at that,

Anton check that out man.

- [Anton] Ah yeah, very good.

- Oh that yolk is gigantic.

I think I'm gonna add a little more of the

chili vinegar on this bite.

You can never have enough chili vinegar

in the Philippines.

When you're eating Filipino street food

that is the, one of the ultimate flavors.

Oh yeah.

- That's the best part.

- That is awesome.

(Anton laughs)

Oh it's just like so creamy,

but it tastes almost like it's whipped a little bit.

Really creamy and fluffy.

And then at the bottom of your balut

you have this like rock hard,

what is it?

- It's the white part.

- That's the white that's undeveloped?

- Yeah, yeah.

- It's the white part of the egg

that it's undeveloped,

and it's like rock hard so you don't eat that.

That was delicious.

(Anton chuckles)

I'm not saying that balut is something

I would crave all the time,

but I think it's actually tastes pretty good,

and it is quite fun to to eat as well.

It's like the ultimate hard-boiled duck egg

that you could possibly have.

Within a shell you have all the different components

and all the different textures and tastes.

And it's so pure,

it's all just in a single shell.

When you come to the Philippines

Balut is something,

if you're up for an adventure,

you gotta try balut,

and yeah, I think it's pretty delicious actually.

We have come to the end of this Filipino street food tour,

in Quiapo, Manila.

- Yes.

- Go check out Anton, he's Our Awesome Planet.

- Yeah, in YouTube, Our Awesome Planet Originals.

Daniel Kelly talks about the SASP Program at AACC 5.1.2017 - Duration: 0:39.

When first coming to AACC, I had no real jump

off point to help with tutoring.

I kind of just was a lost sheep in a way.

And since being back I know that the SASP Program is really

the people that are there for you.

They help with tutoring.

They help with any books that you

might need, any material, any calculators, computers,

anything and everything in between.

You just know that you're welcome,

that they will do anything in their power to help you succeed

with college, with life.

The Finest Of The Breed - a poem by Charles Bukowski - Duration: 3:38.

There's nothing to discuss

there's nothing to remember

there's nothing to forget

it's sad

and it's not sad

seems the most sensible thing

a person can do

is sit

with a drink in hand

as the walls wave their goodbye smiles

one comes through it all with a certain amount of

efficiency

and bravery

then leaves

some accept the possibility of God

to help them get through

others

take it staight on

and to these

I drink

tonight.

Melissa Hranicka talks about the SASP Program at AACC 5.1.2017 - Duration: 1:25.

I will be graduating from Anne Arundel Community College

this spring.

Wow, I can't believe I just said that.

I'll be graduating.

It seemed like getting an Associates of Arts Degree

was nearly an impossible mountain to climb.

And due to my learning disability,

learning has never come easy for me.

So once I heard through friends about this program

and how helpful it was, I thought,

why not become a part of the SASP program

because it really makes you feel like you're welcome.

And not only that, but they're just a tremendous help.

I would always receive incentive cards in the mail,

keep encouraging me to get on the right path,

and keep working towards my goals.

And the people that were part of the program, especially

First Year Experience which was a tremendous help, always

made you feel very comfortable.

And they were very patient always with you.

And it seemed like they always made you

feel welcomed at the college.

And my personal favorite was the walk-in tutoring.

It was even if you had a lot of different questions

to ask or just a couple of questions,

they always made you feel like you were welcomed.

And they were always very patient and knowledgeable.

Most importantly is the staff at Anne Arundel Community College.

I want to thank each and every one of you

so much for your help.

You guys really helped me keep myself

on the right path to success.

Day In My Life: People Are Following Me Today - Duration: 7:54.

Hey everyone! Dana here.

And today is another one of those wonderful, exciting days, where I have a project that

pulls me out of the Wanted Adventure studio...also known as my kitchen and my living room.

And out of the Wanted Adventure "editing area," also known as a desk next to my bed, and into

the rest of the world.

So I thought that I would bring you along with me as well.

And first thing for today that project takes me to...the BR building!

The BR is doing a documentary and for that they asked if they could film a little bit

of my "day in my YouTube life."

And so I thought, hey great, yeah!

Okay, so I will make a day in my life video for the Wanted Adventure channel and they

can follow me around and film me for their day in my life filming me making a day in

my life video.

If that makes any sense.

So right now first I have to go inside, we have some filming to do inside.

Hopefully by the time we come back out maybe it'll stop drizzling.

I'm feeling some droplets from above.

And then we're gonna film a little bit more around Munich.

I have a few things planned to show you.

Alright, the weather is not cooperating. It's still raining. But that's okay.

I'm going to take you now on a walk that right now is pretty quiet, not too many people.

But in just 5 months, there will be thousands of people, tourists and locals, making this

walk to the Oktoberfest.

I'm on the Hackerbrücke now, and I like to come to the Hackerbrücke even when the Oktoberfest

isn't going on. I really like trains.

I think they're beautiful and interesting to watch.

And especially here in the winter when it snows, then there's like a light dusting of

white on the tracks and then with the red trains, it's just a really nice contrast.

So as you can see here at the moment this alleyway is pretty open, not to many people here.

But also here, in just a few months, it'll be packed with people.

And behind me, if you already want to start some beer during the Oktoberfest, if you already

want to start drinking before you get there or you just want some cheaper beer or some

pretzels, there's usually a little kiosk stand there.

And if you don't have your Dirndl yet -- so a lot of the people that you will see walking

here in this area during the Oktoberfest will be wearing a Dirndl.

If you don't yet have a Dirndl, you can usually buy it right over there.

There's a little kiosk that pops up selling colorful Dirndls.

And yeah, this area is just packed with people heading to the festival.

My shoes are sopping wet at this point.

I probably wouldn't have come out today in this weather to show you this walk.

I would have picked a sunny day.

But um, yeah, we had this planned for today, and so rain or shine I'm showing you Munich.

Okay, it's time for me to continue on.

Something a little sad to announce.

As long as I've been living here in Munich, every summer Monday night is Blade Night.

But this year, unfortunately we won't be having it.

And I mention that here because this bridge oftentimes I would see the people...so

Blade Night is where thousands of people skate all around Munich.

And oftentimes I would see them coming underneath this bridge here.

But yeah, unfortunately this summer Blade Night will not be taking place in Munich.

So a little disappointing to hear that.

Now we come to a set of stairs that, I think these are trick stairs!

So when I walk up or down these stairs it's very awkward for me, with the distance of

the stairs.

So they are too big for me to make it in just one, you know, step.

But too small for me to fit really comfortably two full steps on the stairs.

And so far I have not met anyone who has said that they walk up and down these steps comfortably.

So if you've been on these steps, how has your experience been?

And finally, here I am at the Theresienwiese.

This is the huge open area that gets filled by the Oktoberfest every year in September

and a little bit of October.

Oktoberfest fills this area with beer tents and music and bright colorful lights and food

and beer, of course.

And the smell of caramelized almonds and sweat and, yeah, even sometimes some vomit as well.

But the Oktoberfest is only a little bit more than two weeks.

So what happens with this big ol' field the whole rest of the year?

Well, as you can maybe imagine, it takes a while to set up the Oktoberfest too.

So I believe they start setting it up around mid-July.

Then you have Oktoberfest.

And then it takes them a little bit of time to take everything down, take everything apart.

And in addition to that, you've also got a few other festivals.

For example the Tollwood Festival takes place here in the winter.

And you've got the Frühlingsfest in the spring, the spring festival, that's coming up soon.

But yeah, for a lot of the year, it's actually just a big open empty field.

Visiting this area when nothing else is going on here, or even when there's one of the other

smaller festivals, makes me realize just how massive the Oktoberfest is.

That the other festivals, they set up the whole festival, sometimes there's even a parking lot,

if I remember correctly, and still they only take up a small fraction of this area.

Whereas the Oktoberfest, it really fills it from one side to the other.

And, yeah, when I'm in the middle of the Oktoberfest, of course it feels big, it looks big, but

for me it's really hard to judge just how huge it really is.

But then when I see this big open area with nothing here from one side to the other,

I realize what an amazing feat it is that every year they set up the Oktoberfest with these

sturdy wooden beer halls.

That they set that up here and take that down every year.

That just, yeah, it's really impressive.

Now I am standing in, what looks to me about the middle of this whole area here.

So let's have a look.

So my question for you is: Have you ever been to the Theresienwiese?

And if you had access to a big open area like this and money wasn't an issue, what kind

of an event would you want to hold here?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Thank you so much for watching.

Until next time, auf Wiedersehen!

Look at that beautiful bike.

I can't even point at it. Which direction. Look at it, that's really cool.

Awkward to walk up or down them.

They are not big enough for me to take really two full steps on them, but too small for...no.

So...

We The Educators - Privatisation (English) - Duration: 1:24.

How would you like your child's education; personalised or standardised?

We The Educators, have made these short films to explore the differences,

the choices we make and what they mean for the future of public education.

Privatisation transfers an industry or service from public to private interest.

Proponents of privatisation believe competition in the private sector fosters more efficient practices,

leading to better service and products, lower costs, and less corruption.

However, critics of privatisation argue that services such as healthcare, law enforcement, or education

should be in the public sector to ensure greater control and equitable access by society.

It's hard to imagine an excellent education system or public sector without equity

and yet decisions about the public sector, including ownership,

are too often made by those who do not use it.

To be profitable privatisation depends on standardisation to scale,

reducing cost prohibitive services and the ability to meet unique needs.

SHAPE OF YOU - ED SHEERAN (MET ROOY) | ONE HOUR SONG CHALLENGE - Duration: 7:48.

Hey guys!

Great that you're tuning in

It's time for another One Hour Song Challenge

But...

With a special guest:

Today I'm joined by:

Roy and you might recognize me from my channel Rooy

I post sketches and comedy videos there

It seemed fun to sing for a change

So I'm doing that with my boy de Wit

For sure, so we asked Roy's subscribers:

If there's one song he had to cover, what song would that be?

So I got a suggestion from Mieke

She said: "A song from Ed Sheeran's new album, you know"

So yeah, there's one song of Ed Sheeran's that's been topping the charts for weeks on end

And that's "Shape of You"

Yeah, and we're changing it up

Yeah, real good

Real nice

We have one hour to do it

Roy, can you get the clock

I'll get the clock

Tadah!

It is, right now, almost 4 o'clock

We have one hour, until 5, to cover this song

We'll do the first verse and chorus

Yeah

That sounds like a great idea

Let's quickly look at the lyrics

And then w-w-we'll get started

Let's go!

Okay

Shape of You lyrics

Uh, we have one verse one pre-chorus and one chorus

Yeah

Uh, you'll sing too

Uh-huh

So we'll split the verse

We had a very cool idea

Namely...

A tropical vibe...

Uh, some kind of moombahton-like...

...vibes

Some kind of s-s-sick bass line

Sick bass line

We have this sound

As an expert: we really have to hurry because that hour flies by

Maybe we can add some...

Something that sounds a bit dirtier

-A clap Something that sounds a bit dirtier

-Oh right, that's for sure That for sure, but the bass line feels a bit round, it feels...

That for sure, but the bass line feels a bit round, it feels...

I want...

A bit dirty

Very nice

A kick here

That sounds $%^&ing cool

I didn't expect that it would sound this cool

-Yeah man, for sure I didn't expect that it would sound this cool

Oh this is $%^&ing nice

Listen, this really needs a drum roll

The clock is making me nervous

-Yeah? The clock is making me nervous

What's the time?

It's been 15 minutes

Oh, we also have to sing

Yeah

Yeah th-this you have to d-do

-Once we'll do it like... Yeah th-this you have to d-do

-Once we'll do it like...

So...

Yeah, yeah, that's the one

Nice

nice

A bit in the background

Here we have to add...

...some sort of...

So we'll get...

So close but no cigar

And then silence

It's almost been half an hour

I see

Does there need to be more sound for...

...a...

...some kind of chord-thingy

This is not a chord-thingy

For example...

...hey...

...violins

Hey!

My favorite little trick has to be in there

Now we're moving away from moombahton...

...by adding that violin

Nah, no, that's called 'creative freedom'

A bit softer

Then I'll do this to the background

We've used that half hour efficiently

This'll be so awesome

It is truly unbelievable

It's a shame that...

...was cut

So let's try to add it back in then?

This feels too empty

With lots and lots of sound

Oh, but we're doing this live later

Huh?

We'll do the singing live

-For real? We'll do the singing live

Yeah

So exciting

Let's sing it one time and decide what we'll do

And then we'll...

...do two voices which are...

...on both sides an octave higher in falsetto -Yeah

...on both sides an octave higher in falsetto

-Okay

That'll fill out the sound -Okay

That'll fill out the sound

This is so funny

Oh, he's shouting

He's just shouting

You're shouting

Yeah, but I...

COME ON NOW, FOLLOW MY LEAD!!! Yeah, but I...

COME ON NOW, FOLLOW MY LEAD!!!

I was in the zone, man

This is really nice

Let's sing

We have 5 minutes to practice

Okay, let's plan it out

We'll practice twice or thrice

Then it's exactly...

...5 o'clock

And we'll do it live!

Oh, how great!

Okay, while...

We have 3 minutes left, while practicing we realized that we need more voices in the chorus

We'll do that quickly

One minute!

-Oh my god And now...

-Oh my god

Come on

It is time

It is high time~

-Now, we'll do it live! It is high time~

-Now, we'll do it live!

I'll set up the camera and we'll be right back

It is 12:04

5

5:04

Again we did it in an hour

And now we'll sing it live

-Woooooh! Wooh, nice!

-Woooooh!

This is the one for sure!

THIS WAS IT!

That was our cover of Shape of You

It was a lot of work but we did it

A lot of work? One hour

-Yeah, one hour A lot of work? One hour

-Yeah, one hour

If you liked the cover press the thumbs up

You can subscribe to my channel...

... and you can subscribe to Roy's channel too which is in the description

Roy also does fun music stuff

Like music that used to be extremely popular

Yeah

There he does old songs and dances to them...

I'd say: just check it out

Will you join me?

Y-Yeah of course

-Awesome! Deal!

That was it for this week

Let me know which artist you want to hear next time

And if you have a YouTuber that you want to hear sing with me

Yeah

That was it for this week, I'll see you next Wednesday

-Yoo Buh-bye
