Why Am I Cold All The Time - Duration: 6:59.
have you ever asked yourself why am I so cold all the time I'm gonna explain hey
I'm Dr. Sten Ekberg with wellness for life and if you'd like to get as healthy
as possible by understanding how health really works then make sure that you
subscribe and hit that bell so that you don't miss anything have you ever found
that you're feeling cold and yet no one else in the room is complaining you tend
to wear a sweater when everyone else has t-shirts if you're feeling cold all the
time sort of in the whole body then it is a energy problem you're simply put
you're not making enough energy so let's break this down and make it really
simple so we can get it your cells make energy and there's three factors that
play in in terms of your cells making enough energy the first one has to do
with the thyroid and your thyroid is like the thermostat for the whole body
you have a hundred trillion cells in your body give or take and every one of
those cells have thyroid receptors and then the thyroid makes thyroid hormone
and the thyroid hormone attaches to the cell and determines that tells the cell
how much to do of whatever that cell is doing so with more thyroid hormone every
cell it's going to make a little more with less thyroid hormone every cell is
going to slow down and do less of whatever that cell is doing so it's like
a thermostat you increase tyroid you speed up everything in the body a little
bit you reduce the thyroid output and you slow down everything in the body a
little bit and this is energy production heart rate digestive speed the
production of stomach acid the rate of healing the transmission of nerve
impulses you name it every cell depends on thyroid hormone and if it slows down
then everything slows down so that's part one
then once the thyroid has kind of placed the order to hold the the cell what to
do now the cell has two requirements it needs fuel and it needs oxygen
so the way that we get fuel is obviously from the food that we eat and if you
don't eat anything for a really long time that's called starvation if you
starve or if you go on an extended fast or if you're trying to go on a diet and
starve yourself then your body senses that there's less fuel in the system and
it's it slows down it shuts things down gradually to conserve energy to conserve
resources and that's why it can be difficult to lose weight for example by
just cutting out the how much you eat so-called calories because the less you
eat the more the body tries to conserve and you're kind of caught in a vicious
cycle but even if you're not starving yourself you can actually be short on
energy for another reason it's called hypoglycemia and this happens if you
have what's called a blood sugar roller coaster if your metabolism primarily
depends on carbohydrates and sugar for fuel like most people in the Western
world then what happens is you eat some sugar and carbs and your body has an
insulin response and that insulin response is going to suppress the blood
sugar it's gonna drop the blood sugar but because sugar is such a stress on
the body the body tends to overcompensate because it's kind of a
crisis when blood sugar goes up so it's overcompensate and it tries to get it
down really really fast so now you get a valley and that's called hypoglycemia
now you're too low on available fuel and your body goes screaming give me
something give me something and you get cravings and what do you get cravings
for you guessed it carbs sugar bread snacks junk food so the way to get
around that is to cut out the junk food cut out the processed food cut out the
sugar and the carbs and develop a diet more like a keto or a paleo diet where
you rely more heavily on fat and protein because that's how the body gets a
stable blood sugar level once you have a stable blood sugar that means you have a
stable fuel supply for your cells and you no longer get hypoglycemia and your
body has the available fuel to produce energy and then we said that the cells
need in addition to the fuel they need oxygen and just like anything else in
the world that's gonna burn anything that's going to produce energy
it needs oxygen and in the body what delivers the oxygen obviously is the
blood their red blood cells and in the red blood cells the thing that actually
carries the oxygen is called hemoglobin it's a protein so you can either have a
low number of red blood cells or you could have less hemoglobin in the red
blood cells either one of those situations is called anemia that means
that your blood doesn't have the capacity to transport enough oxygen so
if you're really anemic you could lose 20 30 40 percent of your oxygen carrying
capacity and now your cells are constantly starving for energy because
even if it has fuel available it can't turn the fuel into energy without the
oxygen if you enjoy this kind of information please share it with others

How to Improve Your Listening Comprehension | Understand Native English Speakers - Duration: 10:31.
Hey, guys, it's Kristina and welcome back to another English lesson.
Today we're going to talk about improving your listening comprehension so that you can
understand native speakers so much better when they speak.
I remember when i was learning Spanish, although I still am learning Spanish, but when I was
more of an intermediate speaker or pre-intermediate speaker, it was so difficult for me to understand
native speakers.
Especially when I got used to one native speaker's style, and then I had to start listening to
people from a different region or a different country and get used to their style.
This is something that I know a lot about, anybody who has learned another language knows
a lot about, so I want to share some tips with you.
We've got 9 tips today that we're going to talk about and I want to share them with you
right now.
Some of these are going to be parts of the accent that you can study and other parts
of these are going to be techniques that you can use in your daily English practice.
Number one is understanding and learning about connected speech.
This is called linking.
What native English speakers do and some speakers of other languages is we link our words together,
we connect our words.
I want you to think of a chain.
Think of a chain link fence, how they're together like this, right?
They're connected.
I want you to think about speech the same way.
Now some speakers of other languages have more difficulty with this than others.
Some languages, other languages besides English also use connected speech.
But the important part is to know how native speakers connect their speech and what exactly
you can do to connect your own speech and when you connect your own speech, then your
brain will begin to recognize those sounds together, so when you hear native speakers
using it, saying it, all of those things, then it will be so much better.
So that's number one.
Number two is to study reductions.
Reductions can mean all kinds of things.
Maybe when we reduce something, we're making the sound of a certain letter silent, like
the H, sometimes we do that, or maybe we're taking a vowel sound and turning it into a
schwa sound, we also do that, or maybe we are not enunciating a syllable or word as
clearly as another syllable or word.
We do all of these things so frequently, so when somebody says to you, "This is for you".
This is for you.
This.
Is.
For.
You.
But notice how I didn't say "for", I said "fer".
This is a classic example of something that you want to study to help your listening comprehension
because when we speak quickly we reduce things all the time and it can get very confusing
if you don't understand those points.
The next one, number three, is going to be paying attention to the stress.
When I say stress, I mean the sentence stress or the syllable stress.
When we stress a word, this means that we are placing more emphasis on this word.
Usually we stress content words the most, but depending on the situation, there are
always exceptions.
If we're stressing a word, then those are the words that you want to listen for, because
even if you don't understand the reductions, even if you don't understand the linking,
you still should be able to understand the content words.
Without all the other little smaller words around the content words, you can still kind
of get a pretty good idea of what the speaker is saying because you can interpret the rest.
So definitely study sentence stress, pay attention to that.
Pay attention to all of these things.
The next point on the list, thought groups.
Thought groups are specific groups of words that we just group together.
We tend to group them together as this little mini focus group and then we blend those words
together.
We link them together, we reduce them, all of those things.
Thought groups are definitely important.
The next point is going to be formal versus informal English, because we speak very differently
in a formal situation versus in an informal situation.
Point number six is to have a positive attitude.
I know, it's not groundbreaking information.
Oh gee, thanks Kristina for that information, be positive, I hear that all the time, I understand.
But I can tell you guys from experience, it really makes a huge, huge difference.
If you are positive and you have confidence in your own abilities, then you are going
to make it happen.
Maybe not the first time, maybe not the second time, maybe not the third time, but you will
make it happen.
It requires a lot of practice.
You have to believe in yourself, believe in your abilities, that with enough practice
you will get it.
Otherwise, I have been there, I have done that, and you know what happens?
If you don't believe in yourself or you let yourself get so frustrated, then you create
this mental block, or this wall, and you just don't hear anything even if you're trying.
Okay so don't get to that point, I really don't want you to do that.
I promise you that with enough practice and the right attitude, you will be able to understand
native speakers much better.
That's the first point for techniques, that's our sixth tip.
Our seventh tip is very helpful and something that I used all the time when I was learning
Spanish, which is listen, read, and imitate.
So let's take an example.
If you're listening to a video and you put the subtitles on.
Obviously you're listening, put the subtitles on, then you're reading at the same time.
So your brain is connecting those sounds with the specific words.
Then, what you want to do after that is pause the video every certain period of time, okay,
whatever works for you and repeat and imitate what the speaker says.
Hopefully you're imitating a native speaker so that you can imitate the accent, and that
you're hearing the native English speaking sounds, but that's the main idea.
You want to be able to listen, read, and imitate constantly.
Obviously, this is going to take a little bit of time, so hopefully you have some videos
that are kind of fun to watch and that you enjoy imitating.
You can imitate all kinds of different people, you can imitate people on TV, you can imitate
people in different videos, whatever video you're watching or in the movies, you can
act, you can be different characters, have fun with it.
Listen to a wide variety of native speakers.
Why do you want to do this?
Because if you do, then you will be exposed to all different kinds of sounds that still
pertain to the same word or the same sentence, or the same expression.
For example, in the United States, people in the north and the south speak very differently.
People from the midwest and the southwest speak very differently.
People who live close to Canada have more of a Canadian accent versus people who live
in South Carolina, they're going to have a very southern accent and use words that people
in the north don't use as much.
Like the word y'all, for "you all".
And not only that, speaking of y'all, people in different parts of the country or in different
countries if you're talking about United States, Canada, England, Australia, etc.
People in different parts also use different words to mean the same thing.
So for example, the United States.
In the south, people say y'all.
In the north, people would probably say you all or you guys.
So it just depends.
That way, you get used to hearing the different accents, the different sounds, and your brain
can start picking up on those sounds and registering it and saying okay, I get it, I understand,
I know exactly what that means.
Those are my nine tips to help you improve your listening comprehension.
I hope that this video was helpful for you.
If it was, then please give it a big thumbs up and subscribe and if there is another technique
on here that you do frequently that helps you but was not mentioned in this video, then
please leave your comments below, I would love to hear them.
Thank you so much for watching and I'll talk to you guys soon.
Bye, guys!

What is a Defined Contribution Plan & How Does It Work? | You Money, Your Choices with Susan Daley - Duration: 4:11.
If you're fortunate to be one of the 1.1 million Canadian participants of a defined contribution
pension plan, you might be curious how these plans work and what their benefits might be.
In today's video, I'll outline what a defined contribution pension plan is
how it works, and some of the drawbacks associated with this plan.
I'm Susan Daley and this is Your Money, Your Choices.
A defined contribution pension plan is aptly named, since the employer benefits portion
of this plan are related to the contributions.
Each year, the employer will contribute a specific dollar amount to the plan.
This is usually stated as a percentage of your salary.
The employer contribution is often contingent on you making a contribution to the plan yourself,
but doesn't have to be.
For example, your employer may match contributions up to 4% of your salary.
If you contribute 3%, your employer will contribute 3%, if you contribute 5%, your employer will
only give you 4%.
This is often referred to as "free money" since for those who would already be saving
for their future, their employer is topping that up for them.
Sun Life Financial estimates that Canadians are leaving over $3 billion on the table from
not contributing to these matching programs.
Of course there are many reasons why Canadians are using their money for other things aside
from matching, but if it's a result of lack of knowledge, that's something that needs
to be addressed!
Unfortunately, with this type of plan, the employer is only responsible for providing
a contribution to the plan.
Once they've made that contribution, the rest is up to you.
You are given a list of options to invest in based on what the pension plan provider
(like Sun Life, Manulife, or Great West Life) is offering.
It is your responsibility to select the investment option that you're comfortable with from
a risk perspective.
For more information about risks when investing, check out my "Risks for Millennials Investors"
video.
The amount of money you receive at retirement will depend on how much you contributed to
the plan, and how well your investments have done.
These plans should really be called savings plans, rather than pension plans.
A Defined Contribution plan is similar to an RRSP (with employer contributions).
However your investment options are limited, and there are additional government restrictions
around withdrawing your money.
Now if you watched my previous video around Defined Benefit pension plans, you might be
thinking, this plan isn't nearly as good as a defined benefit plan.
All the risk is on you.
And in general, you're right.
A Defined Contribution plan may provide some advantages over a defined benefit plan though:
First, the money saved in your plan won't change (aside from savings, withdrawals, and
your investment returns) if your employer goes bankrupt.
Second, you should have greater flexibility around withdrawing your income in retirement.
Third, you can receive a higher retirement income if you invest in a riskier manner and
it works out for you.
However, the opposite could be true, if you outlive what your assets can provide due to
a long life or your investments fall at the wrong time.
Fourth, a lump sum is available to your heirs if you (and your spouse) pass away before
spending the income.
Most individuals don't have a choice whether they have a defined contribution or defined
benefit plan, though it's important to know which plan you have so that you can plan for
your retirement accordingly.
In addition, depending on the plan you currently have and the plan at a potential employer,
this may be a consideration if you're looking to switch jobs.
In the future, I'll outline in detail what options you have with pension plans if you
do change employers.
Are you one of the lucky 6.3 million Canadians that has an employer pension plan?
I'd love to hear about it in the comments below.
I'm Susan Daley and this has been Your Money, Your Choices.

Be Happy! 5 Mind Body Tips to Prevent Colds and Flu - Duration: 7:14.
Did you know that happy people are
less likely to get a cold or flu and
if they do become sick, they have less severe symptoms,
and they recover much more quickly?
Stay tuned if you'd like to learn more.
I'm Shirley Archer.
Welcome to Mindful Moments.
I'm a health educator, author, Wellness coach and trainer.
I'm here to help busy people like you who want to learn
effective techniques to boost your health and happiness.
We're in the midst of the cold and flu season.
We're bombarded by messaging about
how we need to be careful and protect people who are at risk and
those precautions are important.
But, we also need to think about how all that negative messaging is affecting our attitude,
because our day-to-day attitude has a lot of
impact on our health and well-being.
I'm going to share 2 studies with you, and then,
I'm gonna share 5 tips
for you to boost your happiness and reduce your risk of colds and flu.
The first study looked at older adults, fifty years and up.
They inoculated individuals with the flu vaccine.
There was a direct relationship between people who said they were happier
and had more energy and were not stressed out,
with the effectiveness of their resistance to the flu
compared to people who said they were unhappy angry stressed out.
The stressed out people had a less positive
response so that showed that the immune system was functioning more effectively
in those individuals who were reportedly happy.
In another study with younger individuals they actually
exposed test subjects to the flu virus.
In that study they found that
Individuals who were happier were less likely to come down with the flu.
And, if they came down with the flu they a much shorter
sickness with less severe symptoms compared to those
who had reported that they were angry or anxious,
stressed out, etc.
Researchers don't know why this is true, but this is rooted in what we call mind-body medicine -
Where our thoughts and feelings have a direct impact on our physiology.
some of the reasons may be that when we are upset,
it actually affects our gut and the gut the health of the gut.
The microbiome in the gut is one of our first immune system defenses.
The cascade of hormones,
the biochemicals that get triggered when we're in the fight-or-flight and stressed out condition
affects the relationship of good bacteria and bad bacteria.
It throws that out of balance and
when our gut is less healthy, we're more likely to get sick.
Because [a healthy gut] is of our first stands of
defense against germs (infectious diseases, etc).
Other reasons happiness is related to good health is that it affects our ability to have a good night's sleep.
Studies show that people who sleep
7.5. Hours or
more are much less-are three times less likely-to get sick,
than those who have less sleep.
So we may not be able to draw an exact line as to why happiness results in a stronger immune system.
It's a variety of factors, but we do know that there is definitely a relationship.
So what can you do?
You may say to yourself, "Well you know if I'm angry, or if I'm stressed out
It's just how I feel. How can I do anything about it?"
Actually there are things you can do.
I'm going to share 5 tips with you today.
#1 Take a Power Pause.
Something as simple as a 10-minute break every day.
Just to relax and clear your mind.
You can try meditation break. You can focus on your breathing.
Simply quiet the mind.
What that does is it helps shift your perspective.
Sometimes, we get so bogged down by the
negative energy that we forget that there's a different way to look at a situation.
But, simply by taking a time out—
taking a power pause—we can get the perspective we need to see a situation with fresh eyes.
#2 Play! Have FUN!
Make time to do some things that you enjoy to boost your mood.
I love walking with my dog.
Play with kids.
Spend time with friends.
Make a commitment to do something that gives you pleasure and have fun with it.
#3 LAUGH!
Make time to watch comedies, funny movies.
There are so many great comedians. Laugh! Smile more :)
Find the positivity, which brings me to
#4 Pay attention to your attitude and notice if the self-talk or what you say out loud is negative.
Like, "I can't believe it's such a
lousy day today!"
But, then shift that into something positive,
Like, "I'm so thankful for the cool air, because it really wakes me up and fills me with energy.
And it makes me so appreciative of when it's sunny and warm so I'm going to
rReally take advantage of this yucky weather to remember how great I feel when it's good weather."
Maybe that's not such a good example :)
#5 Practice gratitude.
I've been writing in my phone every day three things, which I'm thankful for every day.
I find that that's a fantastic way to
remind myself of things that I might otherwise take for granted.
That little shift in appreciation and gratitude,
thankfulness for all the wonderful things that we have in our life can can boost my mood.
If writing in your smartphone isn't the right way for you, maybe keep a journal or
Write it on a post-it and put it on your computer.
Make an effort to think of 3 things each day for which you're thankful for.
That tiny action is going to make a huge difference boosting your mood in a more positive direction.
I hope these tips help you boost your mood and keep you happy and healthy.

Lara McElderry, Podcast Host: Married to Doctors - Duration: 11:02.
hello and welcome to wisdom included I'm Shelley Carney over the past few months
I've met many wise women business owners and entrepreneurs and I've been honored
to share their stories with you today's guest also brings stories to the
world through her podcast married to doctors and I'm pleased to introduce
podcast host Laura McElderry
a collaborative gathering place especially
for women to share personal stories support and advice wisdom included
Hi Lara thank you for being here today hi thank you so much for having me this is
fun yeah would you tell us your story so my story is that I was born in small
town Oklahoma my mom and dad moved around quite a bit
so I had the opportunity to live in a few different places growing up but I
landed in Arkansas for high school and ended up going to school in Fayetteville
Arkansas that's where I trained as a teacher and I taught school I taught
both junior high and high school and did that for a while I also met and fell in
love with my husband and we moved to Little Rock Arkansas for a medical
school and then after that we began a journey of training that took us to Ohio
back to Arkansas then to Wisconsin then back to Arkansas and finally here to
Albuquerque mm-hmm yeah so we've been around the country a little bit and
we're now 10 years after graduation so my husband graduated in 2008 and here we
are 2018 and later this year he will finally be getting an official official
official doctor job so it's been a long road with that I guess yeah meantime
you've had children yes we actually have five sons mm-hmm
yeah and they are ages 4 to 14 Wow mm-hmm that's a busy life it's a busy
life it's a lot of fun the boys are great they have kept me
entertained and stressed this entire journey but they're great to
have yeah so you of course are the wife and the mom but again you have the
teaching degree so what are you doing to give yourself some outside
stimulation as as opposed to just being at home all the time so I have found
that when I have a project mm-hm that is kind of me based it really
helps me to feel better and so throughout all these years at times I've
been able to pick up teaching and at times I haven't it just hasn't made
sense with little ones in the house and I have found that I've just dabbled in
different things whether that's baking quilting something but it got to the
point where like it just wasn't enough like it just wasn't enough and I really
wanted to get back in the classroom because I love teaching so much when we
moved here I thought okay I'm gonna move my license to New Mexico I'm gonna get a
teaching job then I started looking into it and trying to find the right job in
my field and all of that and couldn't find the right thing and so that's what
kind of brought me around is saying you know what I'm gonna do my own thing and
I'm gonna do something that can come with us
no matter where we go next right right and a lot of women in our age group feel
the same way they've they've done something for 10-20 years and now it's
time for a change or they want something that they're in charge of that they can
do no matter where they go and and that seems to have worked for you now tell us
about what you've chosen to do so I decided to start a podcast mm-hmm and
it's called married to doctors because that's the world that I know and I
really hesitated at first I was like what do I know about and one of the
things that I did was I sat down and I made this huge long list of anything
that I knew anything about and it kept coming up all these experiences I had
due to the fact that I was married to a doctor and I started looking around for
resources and help and I found that there are some things and there's an
interest in this subject but there's not a lot of resources and I feel like there
could be many many more and so I decided to create one okay
so tell us a little bit about your podcast and what types of subjects you
cover and and what type of stories you're hearing on there on your podcast
sure so the podcast is really has a three-fold mission I would say it's to
build a community and to share each other's stories so I have lots of
everyday doctor spouses men and women come on the show so we did a show on
what it's like to be the stay-at-home dad we've done a show on communicating
in your medical marriage we've done a show regarding your sex life with a
doctor and different issues that can come up when we did that with a
sexologist and we're also going to be covering things like physician suicide
stress burnout moving yeah relocation depression can be a big thing for people
we also cover resentment and how to deal with oftentimes we as the spouse give up
careers for the doctor spouse and that can be difficult in marriages so we
cover a wide variety of topics I also have some guests that come on and
discuss some opportunities that they've been given so maybe they've gotten into
the nonprofit sector or maybe they were getting into missionary work medical
missions maybe they had the opportunity to coordinate disaster relief you know
so there's some really neat and wonderful things that can come with
being a physician spouse as well as some really unique challenges and I wanted to
build a community that spoke to all of that so yeah we share stories and we
seek solutions through some experts so I've had the opportunity to have Dr.
Meyers on the show Michael Myers and he's very well published I think he's
published like 150 articles on medical marriage so I was very honored to have
him as a guest and to speak to this topic yeah so it's been a lot of fun
okay so if there's people out there who are wondering about starting their own
podcast what would you advise them to do well I would advise them to be very
clear on their reasons for starting a podcast podcasting is super fun and in a
lot of ways it's not that difficult to get into what is difficult is making a
podcast in and of itself a business ok so I would be sure that if you're doing
it you aren't thinking of it as a way to necessarily make money it might be a
good thing to add to a business you already have or if you already have some
kind of social media platform some type of following then I can see adding in a
podcast it might be a good route for you that's not to say you shouldn't do it I
mean I did it but it's it's really difficult to to monetize the number of
listeners and subscribers is quite high to get advertisers so just keep that in
mind it's not a quick a get-rich-quick kind of scheme ok yeah so it made you
decide that this podcasting was the right avenue for you well for one it was
mobile I knew I could take it with me and I knew that our time here in
Albuquerque might be limited so we're still not sure about that but if it is I
can bring the show with me and I also decided to do it because I enjoy people
and I enjoy the opportunity to meet people from all over the country and
it's been really fun to just have that opportunity to network and to grow I do
hope to eventually monetize it somehow I'm not sure how exactly that's going to
go it probably won't come from the podcast itself so much but probably more
from like a few book ideas that I have brewing in my mind so what so far has
been your favorite episode and why I think it was the episode in which I
interviewed a sexologist and the reason why it was my favorite is number one I
had the guts to do it which I'm really proud of myself because I think starting
a podcast takes a certain amount of courage and it's something that I guess
in my younger years I would have never dreamed of doing and so just the fact
that I was willing to do it and also it was really fun because I read journal
entries and then we discussed those and I felt like she also made a great guest
so it was a really good episode nice I find that when I interview new people I
love it because I'm learning from them about them and about the city
that they're from or what they do and in it very often is something I hadn't
heard or explored before so I imagine that it happens with you as well yeah I
learn all kinds of things and even though the common denominator is that
we're married to physicians there's so much variation into what that looks like
for different people sure even you like you said you have some that are
husband's that are married to female doctors in their stay-at-home dads or
they have those issues that stay-at-home dads might have or sure and even like
dual physician couples so doctors married to doctors double the trouble
right and many variations in between and anywhere from no kids up to four or
five that's right what a challenge so those people who are wondering how to find you where
can they find you so they can find me right here on YouTube mhm and listen to
the audio there they can also find me on popular podcast apps like iTunes
stitcher google play and they can also visit my website which is married to
doctors dot com Married to doctors is the name of the podcast Married to doctors dot com is
the website that's right all right so I think they can manage
that and we'll have that in the comments below as well okay well thanks thank you
so much for being with us today Lara I appreciate your time yeah absolutely
this has been fun thank you all right and for wisdom included I'm

Technology behind the X-ALP Launch - PEARL iZUMi - Duration: 1:27.
With all of the innovation, advancement in bike
technology and how modern trails are being built, we're seeing almost 50% of riders now choosing
flat pedals over traditional SPD shoes.
We wanted to make something that is just as durable but get rid of
all of the weight penalties and the uncomfortableness of traditional flat pedal shoes.
Our flat pedal shoes is one of the lightest shoes in the
market upwards of 15% lighter than anything out there.
The number one thing that riders ask when you talk about flat pedal shoes is
"How's the compound perform?" And with the X-ALP Launch this is when our partnership with
Vibram® really kicked in. So the unique thing about the Launch shoe is we use two
compounds on the outsole. We use the softest Megagrip compound
in the pedal zone and a more durable compound in the non-pedal zone areas.
We do this because a single compound compromises in some area, whether it's
pedal pin engagement or long-term durability. We chose to sipe the shoe to
allow the pedal pins to really engage in the outsole to give the rider the
confidence they need in gnarly terrain. The fully bonded upper gives two
benefits. Long-term durability–avoiding stitching which is weak spots in shoes–
as well as added protection in critical areas like in the toe and mid foot.
If you prefer to ride clipped in and you like the looks of the Launch we have the
Launch SPD which features the same dual-compound sole but with
three-quarter length shank for added stiffness.
Both shoes are purpose built for the modern mountain bike experience.

Bullet Journal Layout | 2018 FEBRUARY FLIP THRU - Duration: 13:36.
Happy love month guys!! In today's tutorial we're gonna focus on our
February 2018 bullet journal layout so let's get started
Hey guys I'm Shayda Campbell and on this channel I focus on art tutorials like hand lettering
watercolor and bujo so if that's your thing consider subscribing if you
haven't already I just want to take a sec to say thank you to all of you who
chosen to support me on patreon this year it means I can keep making these
videos and that's so important to me and right now because we're doing our
February Bujo I've created a little bujo printable that you can go
download and print for a two dollar monthly donation patrons get access to
all the printables I put over there so go check it out so I'm just gonna start
with a quick flip through of my journal since this is only the second month that
I've been doing the BuJo tutorials I started out last month doing the January
layout if you missed that one go check it out I'll link the video below but
this is the layout that I chose to do it's sort of the two page with the
illustration on the left and the calendar and month at a glance on the
right and we'll follow a similar formula for February and then this is the weekly
layout that I chose to use for each week and I loved this layout it lets me have
a nice clean clear to-do list for every week with lots of room for notes but
also lots of negative space room to do a little doodle there on the left I really
like that and then also in January this wasn't in the video but this was
something I did later I just did this fun little illustration with a backpack
and a laptop this month for me was just all about stationery and fun stuff like
that and then to the right here where it says January in the snowflake I had done
sort of a fun little personal goals tracker for the month where you list all
these different goals in different areas of your life like career and
and fun stuff so I don't know if I'll do that for a February but that was a
layout that I had seen on Pinterest and I had fun doing it for January and I
also covered it in the BuJo doodles video if you haven't seen that tutorial
I'll also link that video in the description as well
okay flipping the page here I do put a little tape on the pages to keep them
together if there's too much ink bleeding through so now we're into this
week and I've got my weekly layout my to-do list so the list we're looking at
is actually what I'm doing right now making this week's video very meta and
I've done a little plant doodle there cuz we just got some new herbs so when
I'm doodling I'm trying to draw stuff that's around the house and that's going
on with me and then as we flip the page we come to our February layout because
February is gonna start next week so I've got a similar layout to January
where I've got the calendar and sort of my month at a glance important dates etc
on the right-hand side and then I'm gonna do an illustration on the left
hand side with the month title but we'll come back to that later for now let's
talk about what we've got on the right hand side here it is very similar to
January I've got my calendar and I do that layout by simply drawing a grid in
pencil and then I put in all the dates and I just go along with a little marker
and add some colorful underlining my sort of my color for this month is gonna
be this warm medium gray I'm gonna use that quite a bit as we go through the
rest of the February layout so I'm just highlighting my titles here and just
trying to create a little division within the page
and then I think that's about all I have to say about that will erase all of that
grid and all those pencil marks later and then that page is totally done now
this month for February I did add a little something I decided to do I
decided to extend the month at a glance so even though we did our sort of our
mini month at a glance and title page there when you flip the page here I've
also gone further with the month at a glance and added a little sort of
to-do list date reminders section for each week of the month so that I can put
even more details in and keep myself organized for my color palette I used
warm gray and light pink and I just added a touch of color to my
illustrations using it on the little calendar to create some division across
the date headers I did these sort of whimsical makeup sketches or doodles and
I just added a teensy bit of color to them we've talked about this on the
channel before but choosing a simple color palette can really help your
doodles and illustrations to look sophisticated so here you can see how
these two colors just work together and make this page pop and really look
professional one of the items that I'm still focusing on is minimalism and
simplicity in my designs I do get quite a bit more whimsical I would say with
the February layout but I still try to keep things clean and simple with lots
of large margins and whitespace and the best part is you guys can get this
layout on my patreon so I've actually digitized the entire layout and you guys
can go get it and print it out and put it in your own journal so you can have
one of my designs for your own planner if you like I'm also going to put this
in my Etsy shop so if you're not comfortable or you don't want to go on
patreon you can simply purchase this and it's just an instant download on
Etsy and you can print it out so I'll link all of that in the description
below the video okay now real talk if you don't want to
buy it and you want to do it yourself I think that's probably your best option
and I think this is a really easy layout to copy the most important thing is just
that you keep these lines as straight as you can and as I always say you do that
by pulling the pen towards your body so just mark where you're gonna start
and stop and then pull that pen in towards yourself it helps you keep it
steady so just move the page so that you're always pulling your arm and the
pen towards you and yeah and I think this is a fairly simple layout to copy
and I hope that it really helps me stay organized this month because I do have a
busy February now as we flip the page you can see I've continued with my
weekly layouts I'm gonna leave a page in between there and I always write the
dates of the week that it is at the top of the page and I underline it with a
little bit of washi tape and because I'm choosing the simple neutral minimal
color palette for this journal I'm just usually using black washi tape and that
also helps me as I said to keep the pages together if I've got a lot of ink
bleeding through one page so I'll write the dates in here this is gonna be for
next week for the end of January and the start of February so fairly simple and
then I've got my weekly layout all done and if you recall I just keep that
little note section at the bottom that really helps me to
just be able to write down anything I need to during the week and I complete
the letters with just a little bit of simple line shading and I love the way
this simple minimal layout looks it really is the look that I want for my
bullet journal now if we just flip back here let's go over our month title page
together so I'm gonna erase all the pencil marks as I said on that page and
then now I can just focus on the left-hand side on completing my
illustration you can see it there in pencil I've done a very light sketch a
little tip is that when you're working on the left-hand side of your journal if
you do have a thicker journal like mine it helps to put a book underneath so
that you've got a smooth surface that's level and you're not sort of hindered by
the crease in the journal now I started my illustration here by doing a little
window in the very center of the page I also made sure that to put the title
February in the very center and from there once I knew everything was
centered I just sketched out this wintery paned window with some trees
outside and with a tea kettle and a cup and some tea in the foreground and this
is just to me so what February feels like this year
and it's just this sort of thoughtful quiet illustration that's definitely
what I'm feeling this week and although our window in our kitchen isn't quite
this pretty the scene outside is we have these gorgeous pine trees in the
backyard and they're always snow-covered as of late so I am definitely drawing
from life here and I have this beautiful kettle
actually I'll link the kettle in the description below because it is
seriously the nicest kettle and it was a gift from Chris but it is such a it's
just one of those things one of those nice things that you'll just have
forever and so yeah I'm gonna link that but anyways so anywho rambling on this
is just a little sketch that I did and I think the best thing you can do when
you're going over your sketches in pen here I'm using a pigma micron and I'm
using the 02 nib the 02 and the 0 3 are sort of my Goldilocks nibs for doing
these smaller illustrations a lot of the lettering I do I do like the 05 but I'm
just going over my illustration in pen and I think the key is adding lots of
line shading and detail so on the mug I'll do a little stippling because it's
sort of a pebbled clay mug and you can see on the side of the kettle I've done
some simple lines to indicate shadow and I'm gonna add some lines and
hatching for the shadow underneath the mug and underneath the box of tea bags
and it's really just adding in those details so decide where is the light
coming from I mean in this illustration easy it's coming from the window so the
shadow is sort of coming towards us or maybe going a bit to the left and the
box of tea is gonna have a dark end because it's facing away from the window
so just taking a moment to think about those details will really help to
elevate your your ink illustration and I do love doing this it's it's it's a
really meditative process to just sit with your pen and paper and you don't
need a lot of supplies and I really had a lot of fun putting
this little illustration together this month now outside the window I'm
illustrating these snow-covered pine trees and I am sort of drawing in the
snow as you can see but I'm also trying my best to use negative space to
indicate the snow and actually it wasn't until I started doing this I kind of
realized well this is actually kind of a lot like the candle in the window
illustration or watercolor that we did before Christmas so I suppose I was a
little inspired by that but again we talked about doing snow on a tree or
on greenery in that video and here I'm sort of trying again at this using the
negative space to indicate the snow and I'm gonna finish up this little
illustration today by just putting a few dots to indicate falling snow and that's
about it I'll drop down here and write the word February I'm not capitalizing
it I'm just doing a really simple imperfect perfectly imperfect cursive
and then I'm thickening each down stroke to create that faux calligraphy look that I
love so much and just like with the other side of the page here once the ink
has dried which is just literally a few seconds I'm gonna take an eraser and get
rid of all my initial pencil sketches and then I'm all done I love the way
this came together as I often say I think part of the reason it worked so
much is all that negative space that also contributes to the minimal look of
my bullet journal that I love so much so remember negative space leave those
margins on the side well thank you guys so much for watching today I hope you
enjoyed the February flip through and that you got some ideas and inspiration
for your own bullet journal and thanks for all your kind words on social media
I'm so glad you're enjoying these bullet journaling tutorials because I am loving
making them I'm so into journaling now and guys
remember you could get my planner printables the ones that I designed for
February they're in my Etsy shop and they're also available for my patrons on
patreon it's an instant download you just print it out and you can enjoy
these in your own planner alright I think that's everything if you're
wondering about last week's giveaway winner from the watercolor video that is
listed in the video description below so check that out and of course if you
enjoyed today's video don't forget to subscribe comment and hit the thumbs up
and I'll see you next week with a new tutorial

Police Car Cartoon 20 MIN. Car race cartoon full movie. Police for kids Cartoon full episodes. - Duration: 21:25.
Hello!
Today, we are going for an exciting journey in a balloon!
I'll go up on it high into the sky in just a few minutes.
Now let us know more details what about balloon.
In another way, it is called "aerostat".
So, the biggest part of the balloon is its frame, it is mounted with burner, and just
below the basket.
The upper shell is sewn from a special thick fabric that can withstand wind.
Friends, do you know how the balloon rises into the air?
I will tell you and show you.
To make it clearer, let us take two little balloons for comparison - in the green, there
is cold air and there is warm air in the pink.
And compare which one is easier.
You see - a balloon with warm air is easier.
So to make balloon rise into the sky, you need first to heat the
air inside the enclosure.
The fire starts in burner, it heats the air in the balloon, and it rises.
I'm already in the basket, and going to check the burner right now.
Working!
The fire heats the air inside the balloon, and once it is heated to the desired temperature,
the balloon will begin to rise slowly.
A bit more!
The balloon is rather big, and therefore a lot of cold air is inside - so we need long
warming.
Wow!
Look!
Hooray!
I'm in the air!
And the balloon is gradually gaining height.
When flying on a balloon the weather is very important.
Today is clear weather, and there is no wind - perfect conditions to travel by air.
Guys!
I'm flying over the city - and it is VERY interesting!
I've never seen houses and streets of the city from such a height.
At the bottom, everything looks very beautiful and unusual!
I'm going a little higher - and houses and cars at the bottom decrease, become like toys.
Friends, today my journey in a balloon is over!
For the first time it is enough!
I loved flying, especially slow - when you can see everything below.
Would you fly on a balloon?
I have prepared an unusual painting for you - you will be able to paint a balloon in your
favorite colors.
Ask your parents to print pictures, links to which are noticed in the description of
a cartoon.
And send me your drawings - I also want to look at the balloon you want to fly!
E-mail address is noticed in the description to the cartoon.
Your drawings I will show in the following cartoons!
See you soon, friends!

Tips for Online Business Growth You Need to Know - Duration: 10:50.
How would you like to get more traffic to your website? Do you want more
subscribers on your email list? How about more clients and customers for all those
amazing offerings you've created? Well, since you've clicked on this video,
there's a good chance your answer to all those questions is YES! And I totally get
it. We all want to see those big-time
results when it comes to our businesses. We want more readers and subscribers.
We want more clients and customers because it means more money. And there's
absolutely nothing wrong with that! But if you want it, you have to work for it.
And in this video, I'm sharing seven tips that will help you achieve the success
you desire. Hey, everyone! Welcome back to my channel. If you're new here, I'm Rachel
the founder of Define Your Hustle. Define Your Hustle is all about helping
creative, aspiring entrepreneurs build successful and fulfilling online
businesses. And if you haven't already, make sure you subscribe because I'm
uploading a new videos every week to help you grow your blog and your online
business. Now, let's go ahead and dive into those seven tips for online
business growth. These are tips that you can actually start putting into action
right now. After all, there's no reason to wait around, right? So, if you want more
people to take notice of your business, this is what you need to do. My first tip
is to start blogging and post consistently. Blogging is a fantastic way
to grow your business. And if you don't already have a blog, I highly suggest you
create one. You don't need to be a talented writer or anything like that to
blog either. You just need to have something valuable to share with your
audience, which you should if you're running a business. There are a number
of reasons I feel blogging is so beneficial for business owners in a
variety of fields. First, your blog posts provide valuable, high-quality content
that your readers will appreciate. It gives them a reason to visit your site
and keeps them coming back for more time and time again. Blogging also helps you
show off your expertise because readers will start to see that and you really
know your stuff through your well-written content. And
when they see that you're an expert on your topic, they're gonna start to view
you as an authority figure in your field. Through your blog content, you also
essentially give people a snippet into what it's like to purchase one of
your paid products or to work with you one-on-one. Your readers kind of get a
taste of what your work is like, which will actually help them decide if you're
the right fit for them. But that's not all! I've actually shared an entire video
with ten different reasons blogging is so important for online business growth,
which you can watch right here on my channel if you want to check that out.
It's not enough to just start a blog though. You also need to post
consistently. And no, that doesn't mean you have to post every single weekday.
You just need to get on a blogging schedule and actually stick to it. The
most important thing is that you're providing your audience with high
quality content. You don't want to feed them a whole bunch of content that's
simply not up to par. That all goes back to how many quality blog posts you can
commit to each week. For some of you, that may be three blog posts. For others, it
might be less or it might be more. And that's totally okay! Decide how often you
want to publish new blog posts per week, choose your posting days, and keep at it.
It gives you a consistent schedule for creating content, but it also allows your
readers to anticipate new content since they'll know when your posts go live. My
next tip is to be present on social media. Social media is really one of the
best ways to grow your business. It provides you with platforms to send
traffic back to your website, make sales, and build connections with people. The
key to making social media work for you though is to use it effectively. And,
unfortunately, that's something many brands fail to do even today. To really
succeed on social media, the first step is to determine which platforms your
audience is actively using. And yes, that means you don't have to be on every
single platform there is. That would be exhausting! It's more important to do a
few platforms really well than it is to do a bunch of them poorly. Once you've
found the social media platforms that are right for your business, you have to
be present. Don't just schedule content and walk
away, assuming that your work is done for the day. You still need to check in and
engage with other people. It's called social media, after all, and you need to
be social. Start conversations with people by asking questions. Jump into
other conversations that you see taking place if you have something
valuable to add. You can also participate in Twitter chats or Facebook groups. The
options here really are endless. Building those relationships with your followers
is going to be so crucial to your long-term success because you have to
establish trust before someone will ever purchase anything from you. There's a
good chance that many of you watching this video are on social media, but you're
not doing it the right way. You want to be strategic about the content you share
so it helps you actually achieve your business goals. Spend time engaging to
nurture relationships and in time you'll see the results that you want.
Tip number three is to create an awesome email opt-in. if it isn't already part of
your business strategy, you need to build an email list. Having an email list will
allow you to communicate with people long after they've left your website and
probably forgotten all about you. You can provide valuable content to them to keep
your list warm and then they'll be primed and ready to buy when you have
something to sell. You don't want to wait until you have a product or service to
start building your list because then it's gonna be too late. You'll have no
one to launch to. So, you need to start right now. But the key to getting people
to subscribe to your list is by creating an awesome email opt-in. The best freebie
you can provide is one that delivers tremendous value to your target audience.
Think about what they're struggling with the most and how you can help them out.
And once you have a topic, you can create a mini ebook, a free email course, or some
other sort of downloadable that they'll enjoy. The right opt-in will surely
skyrocket your subscriber numbers in no time at all. My next tip is to start
using video. Far too often I hear people say they're scared to create video
content. They're worried about how they look or how they sound. They're scared
they'll seem awkward in front of the camera because it makes them
uncomfortable. But here's the thing, I totally understand those worries and
fears... But are you really going to let them hold you back from doing something
that could be pretty game-changing for your online business?
I hope not! Whether it's YouTube, live streaming, or webinars, you absolutely
should consider adding some form a video to your content strategy.
Video helps you build a stronger connection with your audience because
they get to see you and hear you. They get a better sense of your personality.
And it's almost like they're sitting in the same room, having a conversation with
you. Through video content, your audience will get to know you better. When people get
to know you better, they start liking you. And when they start liking you, it builds
that level of trust you need to create a loyal fan of your brand. Those loyal fans
are the ones who will support you and ultimately buy from you when you have
something they want. And that, my friends, is the KLT or Know, Like, and Trust factor,
which is an essential element for every successful business. Tip number five is
to collaborate with others. Another fantastic way to grow your business is
to collaborate with other people. You can work together to start a podcast, hold a
webinar, or even create a content series on your blog or YouTube channel. The
great thing about collaboration is that you're able to get more exposure for
your brand since you'll be put front and center for their audience to see. The key
to making this work though is to collaborate with someone who has an
audience you want to reach. If their audience isn't going to be interested in
what you offer in your business, it's not going to be a successful collaboration.
You need to find someone who has your target audience, come up with a great
idea, and then send over your pitch. Tip number six is to network in person. I'll
be honest with you, I never used to think much about networking in person as a way
to grow my business since it's strictly online. I didn't think I'd meet anyone
locally who would be interested in my offering, so I really never bothered
until I discovered there was a local chapter of The Rising Tide Society's
Tuesdays Together. That's when I learned just how powerful those "real life"
connections can be. Even if the people you meet don't become clients or
customers, they can still allow you to build long-lasting friendships. Those
people can actually turn out to be an awesome opportunity for a collaboration
or even just a support system. Find some communities in your area that you can
connect with. Share your story. Make those friendships. It will help you grow your
business financially if someone ultimately buys something from you, but
it's also an opportunity for growth if you find a support
system you can learn from and lean on. And finally, my seventh tip is to know
your limits and hire help when needed. If you aren't in a position to hire someone
to assist within your business, that's totally fine. But if you are, you should
know your limits. Unfortunately, we aren't great at everything, though we often trie
to do it all ourselves. That determination is awesome, but you have to
know your strengths and weaknesses and know when to hire help.
For example, graphic design is not my strong suit. In fact, I think I'm terrible
at it. However, I used to insist on creating my own logos because I wanted
to do everything myself. I'd spend ages stressing over logo
designs in an attempt to make something that looked halfway decent. Eventually, I
realized the time and stress that went into it just wasn't worth it. Itt made
more sense to hire someone who actually has the skills that I'm lacking. That's
why I ultimately hired a designer to handle all of my logos. And if there's
something in your business that would be much easier if someone else handled it,
outsource it. Whether that's managing your inbox, editing your videos or
podcasts, creating your Facebook ads, whatever it may be, outsource it. And
eliminate the stress it's causing you and get that time back in your day to
focus on other tasks. Okay, that's a wrap on today's video. I hope you enjoyed

implement to start seeing results, no matter what kind of business you're
