Waching daily Jan 29 2018

Hey, what's up, y'all?

It's Hannah.

Eating disorders and bipolar disorder.

We usually talk about them kind of separately, right?

But in my life with bipolar 2 disorder, they are very much connected.

And I told my self in 2018 that I was going to work on body and mind

and open up about this part of my life with y'all.

So, please also share your experience as well.

I was 9 years old when I developed an eating disorder known as bulimia.

And it continued on for about 15 years.

Sometimes it was extreme.

Sometimes it wasn't.

But in the years right before my bipolar breakdown, it became out of control.

With bulimia, it was almost like I was forcing those extremes out.

When you live with a mental health condition, you are so confused internally.

And you feel internally flawed.

You, yourself, feel and society makes you feel like that.

So you have to control something.

How am I going to appear perfect and strong to the world?

Shortly after my diagnosis and treatment, luckily the bulimia just kind of ended.

But the image problems and that delusional way of thinking about my appearance

has always stayed.

And still stays to this day.

And it's something I'm really working on this year.

I'm going back to therapy.

And I want to hear your strategies for coping with this.

So please share this with those around you.

And, of course, I can't wait to see you next week.

Bye.

Behind the Album - Me And My Damn Dreams (episode 3/5) - Duration: 7:03.

The album is much louder.

And not in that sentence that it's like a rock album.

It's more raw I guess, I don't like to use the word pure, although I think that that's what I mean.

The days are quite long.

We're actually here for three weeks. And we're here everyday.

Yesterday we happened to have a day off for the first time in a week and a half.

Normally we're here from 11 am till 12 am at night.

On a typical day at the studio, we arrive around eleven o'clock.

If we are on time...

Most days we start off quite easy...

In the first days.. the first twelve days we're doing a song per day.

So we start the day building the drumset.

We try out different drums, and different kicks and snares, to see what sounds the best.

After that we get together in that one recording room, to play the track.

At that moment it's all about the drums, to get that right.

They're all with me in the recording booth.

So we record everything together, to get that feeling for me as a drummer.

Because of that, I get the vibe of the song. Instead of playing against a guide track,

that's very relaxed.

I decide with Larry what the song needs.

And then it's Tobi's turn.

We had the intention that when we came here, that we would be very prepared.

No misconceptions about our parts, that we all knew what we wanted to play and that we could record our parts.

So that it wouldn't take too much time to also have to figure out what to play.

Because we've got a very tight schedule.

I already thought about some effects or some techniques for bass but...

Or at least some ideas like this bass, I want to use it for that song or a specific sound.

I had it all in my head.

So I presented it to Larry, and he was like; "Yeah.. Yeah.. But what would you think about this?"

It was something entirely different.

It was really cool, I would never have thought to use a chorus for some of the songs.

Or instead of playing the part really steady with your fingers, using an arpeggiator for the same parts.

That's really cool.

I'm the first one to record the guitar, because I lay a foundation with my chords.

Most of the time I start later in the day.

Around 6 or half past 8.

It really depends on the song.

Of course your sound changes when you work with a producer.

You make your own sound, but the producer, especially Larry who's also a guitar player.

He got his own ideas for the sound.

I think that Larry is very aware of what every part needs in terms of sound.

You have to get used to it, I think people maybe expect more of a summer vibe.

But in the end, I know people gonna like it. I'm sure of it.

And if we're still up for it in the evening, the vocals.

But that depends on the song.

And in between we try to eat something and catch a bit of sunlight.

I think the new album is a lot more personal.

Because we had that period where we decided not to play, and to really sort ourselves.

That everything we've done and what we've been trough, that it could settle.

And to think about where we wanted to go next.

Like I said, we had to let go of that idea of who we are.

And I think we've let it go even more than before we recorded our first EP.

Everything could happen, so it kind of happened naturally.

I would say that it's just more sincere.

It's closer to us, who we are as a band or who we want to be as a band than everything we've made before this.

Virtual Classroom Facilitation Applications: Keeping Learners Engaged - Duration: 1:28.

[music plays]

Hi and welcome to Virtual Classroom Facilitation Applications: keeping

learners engaged. Virtual classroom engagement is more than making sure

learners are awake enough to answer a poll or raise their virtual hands. In

this lesson, we'll dig deep into the concept of keeping your audience

intellectually engaged. There's a lot of ways to do that, but for now we're really

going to focus on the conversation. You're going to realize that your voice

is truly the most important tool that you have. All the great tech in the world

won't keep your learners there if they don't want to listen to you, and if

they're not involved in the conversation. So we'll focus some time on using your

voice impactfully and effectively. And also, how do you solve that problem 0f

asking questions and not getting an answer? There's some real practical ways

to ensure that you get the answers you need, and move the conversation and the

learning along. You'll develop even more fluency in this language of the virtual

classroom. You'll get the basics down and start to learn the nuances of this new

language. Keep watching the facilitation team and think about how you want your

facilitation skills to evolve.

Elizabeth Gilbert on Fear - Duration: 1:56.

Fear can take hold of you in such a dramatic way that it can actually reduce

the possibility of you doing the things that really in your heart you know that

you're capable of doing, but for some reason you're just not able to make it

happen. Watch this video as Elizabeth Gilbert

talks about the concept of fear.

I have no desire to become a fearless person, because the only genuinely fearless human beings I've ever met were psychopaths or toddlers.

constantly protecting us that's its job and it does its job beautifully it's

just that it's all jacked up on Red Bull and creativity will always provoke your

fear because it asks you to enter into a realm with an uncertain outcome. Fear

hates that! It thinks you're gonna die! So anytime I start a new creative project

the fear rises and the first thing I do is say to it: "thank you so much for how

much you care about me and how much you don't want anything bad to happen to me

and I really appreciate that! Your services are probably not needed here as

I'm just writing a poem. No one's gonna die, no one's gonna die! It's okay."

I just talk to it but in this really friendly way and then I

invite along: "You can come with me but I'm doing this thing." I love the

way that she personifies fear and even writes it letters.

Thank you so much for watching! Comment below to start the conversation

New Zealand Rocket Launch 'Disco Ball' Into Space That You Can S - Duration: 3:56.

New Zealand Rocket Launch 'Disco Ball' Into Space That You Can See From Earth

A rocket was launched from New Zealand last week, and onboard was an object that was very

unusual.

This was a huge reflective disco ball, and it is going to be able to be seen using the

naked eye from Earth during 2018.

Humanity Star Will Be Sent Into Space Onboard The Electron Rocket

The disco ball has the name of the Humanity Star, and the American Rocket Lab company

launched it on-board the Electron rocket with the name of Still Testing.

The rocket took off from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 situated in New Zealand on the North

Island on the Mahia Peninsula.

The company has billed the rocket as being a cheap way to go to space and it up to now

they have had a great deal of success.

This was just the second launch of the rocket by the company, with the first launch occurring

in May 2017.

The rocket took with it three CubeSats, which are small satellites that are going

to be used for research when putting into an orbit that is near polar.

Following the launch, the company said that they had put a secret payload onboard the

rocket and this was the Humanity Star.

It Will Orbit Earth Every 90 Minutes And Has 65 Reflective Panels

It is going to orbit the Earth once every 90 minutes, and the height is going to be

around 293 to 521 kilometers.

The object is said to be 1 meter across, and it has been fitted with 65 panels that are

highly reflective and which are made of carbon fiber.

The founder of the company, Peter Beck, set up a website for the object and he said that

Humanity is finite and it is not going to be up in space forever.

He went on to say that in the face of almost inconceivable insignificance, humanity is

capable of kindness and great things and the Humanity Star is just a reminder of that.

Visitors to the website can track the Humanity Stars orbit, and this means it will be viewable

in the sky at night.

At the moment it is not clear as to how bright the disco ball is going to be, but Beck said

that it might be compared to Iridium flares, which come from the solar panels of the Iridium

communications satellites.

Based on the size of it this may be unlikely.

Astronomers Might Object To Bright Disco Ball Astronomers might have some cause for concern

as in the past they have opposed projects such as it as it can interfere with the observations.

Last year scientists from Russia sent an object that was similar to space, and this had the

name of Mayak.

However, in this instance, it seems to have failed to deploy the reflector that was shaped

like a pyramid in orbit.

Rocket Lab said that the Humanity Star orbit would degrade in around nine months and it

would then come back into the atmosphere.

If it were to remain up there for that length of time, it is going to be visible to just

about everyone in the world as the polar orbit would take it in the sky over most locations.

The object is a geodesic sphere, and it is said to be spinning rapidly on the orbit around

the Earth.

It does not have any thrusters or instruments; it is just like a traditional spinning disco

ball.

Rocket Lab said that the object creates an effect that is very much like a disco ball

and has the appearance of a flashing bright shooting star.

The company also said that they were considering sending up iterations of the Humanity Star

in the future.

How to get 1000 Subscribers on YouTube [10 Top Tips] - Duration: 7:32.

So YouTube are changing goalposts. As well

as needing 4,000 hours of watch time you

also need 1000 subscribers to monetize

your content. So here's 10 tips to help

you get there.

Hello everyone welcome back to vidIQ.

My name is Rob, if this is your first

time here we are the YouTube tool and

channel that aims to help you get more

views in less time. Our tool is of course

free to download, a link is in the

description, and while you're at it

subscribe to our channel and click on the

notification bell to make sure you don't

miss any of our content. And as by way of

an introduction, that's our very first

tip: appeal directly to your audience

for a subscription. Now there is a school

of thought that suggests asking for

subscribers may sound a little desperate,

cheesy but it's simply a part of the

Youtube fabric. People ask you to smash

that like button to improve the

YouTube algorithm and engagement rates

now we're simply asking you to subscribe

to our channel for two reasons.

Obviously you want these viewers to come

back for future content on your channel

but if you're open and honest and say

that I need to get to 1000

subscribers to monetize my content and

help sustain the channel

I think subscribers and viewers would

accept that. I've never had a single

comment on one of my videos complaining

about asking for subscribers and if you

never ask you may never know. Another way you

could encourage your viewers to

subscribe is to do something a little

exciting and animate on screen like this.

You can get all sorts of resources from

all over the internet. Simply try what

fits for you and you may see an upsurge

in subscribers. Our next tip is to take

advantage of this icon down here which

is your watermark branding. When viewers

click on this icon it takes them to

your channel where they could subscribe

after watching more of your content. It's

edited and created via the branding page

on the creator studio. Now we have a two

pieces of advice for this little icon:

first of all put the words subscribe in

there just to encourage people to do

exactly what it says and don't introduce

it right at the beginning or the very

end of your video. You want it to act as

a visual distraction maybe 30 to 45

seconds into their video. Now you can't

put subscription links in video cards

but you can put a subscription

button in the end screens like this. Now

I know this is going to look a bit weird

don't worry the video is not ending here

but as you can see I'm trying to be

creative with the way I draw people to

that subscription button so give it a

try yourself. Next up we have what you

might call a dirty little web trick.

Whenever you share your YouTube channel

add this to the end of your link and

this is what happens. When users click on

it they are prompted to automatically

subscribe to your channel before

actually visiting your YouTube channel

page. As I say it's a little dirty that

might annoy some users who get this

pop-up and then click off your page but

I bet the majority of them will be

happily cancelling and looking at your

channel or subscribing outright. Another

way to directly appeal to your audience

for a subscription is to write a comment

and then pin it to your videos. When you

do this that pinned comment appears at

the top of the comments list. Now again I

feel as if honesty is the best policy. Be

open and transparent, tell your audience

why you're pinning these comments, why

you're asking for subscriptions.

Maybe it's because you want to invest

some of the money you earn back into the

channel with new equipment or products.

You could also add a similar message to

the video description of all of your

videos. If you have the bulk

campaign manager from vidIQ available

for boost and pro users it's accessed

from the video manager page of the

creator studio and as you can see

on-screen you could add a message either

before your current video description or

after and add it to certain videos or

all of your videos. All of this is

explained in a lot more detail in our

dedicated video so check it out. Another

thing you can do is reach out to an

entirely new audience by adding value to

other channels. That might be watching

their content and posting awesome

comments that get pinned or liked by

the channel creator and create a

conversation. When people get involved in

those conversations they're gonna think

Hmmm this video creator perhaps has

value on their own channel and visit

your stuff and perhaps subscribe to your

channel so think of it on a wider scale

beyond just your current audience try

and attract a new audience who may

really enjoy your content and subscribe.

As an example

we get all sorts of awesome comments

from you on our videos. I'm sure many

other video creators have read those

comments agreeing or disagreeing

generating a conversation perhaps

visiting your channels and subscribing.

In a recent example we had a video

creator who got an audit on one of our

live streams and that drew in a

significant number of new subscribers to

his channel. He increased his subscriber

base by five percent just by

contributing to our live stream so thank

you very much for that. Our next tip may

sound obvious but it does need

reinforcing: post new content on a

regular basis. For some viewers it may

only take one video to convince them to

subscribe to your channel but for others

they may watch a video, enjoy it, but they

don't subscribe. Then on their YouTube

homepage they see another new video from

you, they watch it enjoy it and say yep

I've seen a couple of videos from this

person now I enjoy their content I'm

going to subscribe. And following on the

theme of encouraging viewers to become

subscribers make sure that your channel

homepage is very welcoming. A channel

trailer, a good description about what

your channel does including a good

channel banner, and of course, plenty of

playlists that tell the viewer exactly

what your channel is about. In fact when

you're sharing videos share the playlist

video link. That means that when a

viewer is watching your video they're

within your playlist environment. They

may see more videos that they like from

your channel and eventually subscribe. So

those are ten tips to help you get up to

1000 subscribers. So why hasn't this

video ended just yet? Well we have an

eleventh tip, a controversial, one we're

not even sure we should suggest this but

everybody else is going to do it so you

might as well know what it's about.

Pstt. Sub4Sub. We can't avoid this

subject. Now that youtubers need to get

up to 1000 subscribers it's almost a

legitimate reason for youtubers to post

Sub4Sub. They're actually helping out

each other to get to a numerical value

in order to satisfy YouTube needs. But

this comes with a lot of caveats. If you

do Sub4Sub there's a very small

chance that you're actually going to get

any valuable watch time from those

subscribers and if there's a lot of

Sub4Sub going on from channels that

have no

intention of actually producing any

decent content or indeed any content

whatsoever- they might be gaming the

YouTube system - those channels could get

deleted by YouTube and then you lose a

slew of subscribers. The main thing you

should be doing is spreading a message

of value that convinces viewers to

become subscribers and not through

some simple transaction to get to a

target. And as a final note on the

subject of Sub4Sub if you do follow

YouTube by the book it breaks their

Terms of Service and you could receive a

strike on your channel so you have been

warned. And that's it for this video I

hope you found it enjoyable, informative

and useful. If you did smash that like

button and up YouTube algorithm, and of

course if you want more content just

like this subscribe to vidIQ. You see

it's easy. Enjoy the rest of your video

making day bye for now.
