Greetings Earthlings!
Welcome to the MadqueenShow!
I am you host the MadQueen
And Mr Ruvver
And Mr Ruvver
Hello, new people to the channel that don't know who I am!
A lot of you have been asking, but I am Mr Ruvver
I am the Queen's imaginary friend which...
By the way, if you are seeing me, hearing me that's bad news for you
Because that means you are crazy too
But, yeah. I am Mr Ruvver
Please, go on
On today's menu we have a different video than the one I had in mind for you today,
because it's Sunday and I was ready to make a Pijama Rant but this just came in, and I'm
glad, because I look like shit, and I feel like shit, and I don't want to get out of
my Unicorn pajama.
And you can't make news with a Unicorn pajama
Say goodbye to your credibility
So no camera today
You're making one of those super long introductions that you hate when other YouTuber does
True.
Let's go for it.
The thing is that the usual suspect Legolevic, known as Gamerevic in our Discord server,
sent me these images as it seems that he found them in videos and articles claiming that
these are actual leaked gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 and he wanted to know if I thought
if they could be real gameplay leaks.
So, short answer: no
Long answer: fuck no
Before entering into detail, I'm seeing lately a lot of images and videos that claim
to have leaked images from the gameplay, I especially recall one that I can't find again
where some YouTubers stole the final project of some students, that was a sci-fi
environment, claiming it was actual gameplay from Cyberpunk 2077.
And you could see that it was student quality, there was no way THAT could be mistaken for
a AAA game, this same YouTuber had a video called "2018 Cyberpunk 2077 trailer" and
it was the teaser that is now 5 years old, so, what I want to say with that is we're
entering into a season where everything is going to be filled with alleged leaks, there's
people who will honestly believe that what they are saying is accurate, but there's
also who have the bad clickbait intention, so we really need to be careful with that
before going crazy.
R: This said by a YouTube known for posting leaks
Yep, leaks that I reported thanks to the Triple S League
and that shortly after were officially confirmed by CD Projekt
So, trust your sources when reading about this information.
Even I can be wrong, and I can assure you I double and triple check everything I say.
First let's talk about the character creation images: what they are and what information
can we extract from them.
Before googling the images, which is the most obvious thing to do, you can easily see that
it's pretty weird that they have the logo of the game in the corner, a thing that you
usually don't see in a game
Except Batman. The game is filled with bat signals everywhere
Well, I didn't mean that.
Second thing you can easily see is that the character is 2D, this is not a 3D character,
you could have a 3D character with this texture, but there's a trick to tell a 2D from a
3D character easily, and that is the armpit shape.
See the characters that are modelled to be animated are created in this pose, to then
put a skeleton, that is called a rig, on the inside of the body, to animate the character.
This is a pose that the character doesn't keep during the game, usually it is with its
arms down, so as the real skin of a person is more flexible than a 3D mesh, when the
arms fall down they make a strange shape in the armpit, and I've seen incredibly advanced
3D models of character and still the armpit problem is there.
You can only see a perfect shape when the character is modelled to keep the same pose
all the time, like the Cyber Psycho in the teaser.
So, 2D character
All of this just for the armpit
Then, the obvious thing to do, googling the images.
It seems that these images saw the light April past year, several sources claim that these
images belong to the early mockups that CD Projekt warned us about past year, advising
us to avoid going crazy with them because they are old images and didn't represent the game
If this is a mockup, then, it is one of many mockups done to design the character creation
because it's pretty obvious that they won't keep the first design made for something,
and knowing how perfectionist they are and how they change things up to the last minute
to make the game as perfect as possible
With poor developers suffering the consequences
It's more than likely that, even if at the time this was the final design for character
customization it will change, or already changed, for the final game.
BUT, even not taking this mockup as gospel, we can induce pretty interesting things from it
The first interesting thing is that they are working on a very detailed character customization.
This particular subject had some fans worried as some thought that we would, most probably,
have some kind of Geralt with minor customization, but as I've been saying for long
Oh, and she loves being right
As I said, if they're doing the game that
they are doing, character customization is a must, and having so much detail is a must.
So what information can we extract from here?
Let's get analytical with that
High level nerd mode ON
And I'm going to put a link in the upper part of the screen with a video where I explain
in deep the subjects that I'm going to explain in here, because I don't want to go on forever
so, if you see a link means that there's a deeper explanation available.
But even if I'm going to give a huge explanation of what we see here, I'd like to stress
again that this is a mockup and that what we see here doesn't necessarily mean that
is going to be in the game, BUT if all these options are in a mockup it means that this
is the level of detail in customization that they are considering to implement in the game
Even if it's not exactly this customization.
And warning: this is going to be long and very detailed.
First, the hairstyle, very cyberpunkish, we could expect that, and I'm sure most of
you are not interested in hair dressing, so let's go to the panels of the left.
Starting on the main menus we can see 4 options: Body, Cyberwear, Implants, and weapons.
And I am not 100% sure that this last menu is weapons, but I believe it would be the
most reasonable option.
Let's go for the body first.
Body is the physical attributes of the character.
First, we have the name, obvious
I wonder if they can automatize the name so NPCs can call you by the name
You mean like some lokendo?
But well done
That would be pretty interesting, and something
that I don't remember seeing in a game before when you have a customized name.
Then you have the sex, which caught my attention because this is a transhumanist game, so characters
are way beyond having just two options, in here you can be everything.
You can be a multisexual shark
Yes, but literally.
A shark.
These implants to be a shark, or a cat, or have pink skin are called "exotic", which
takes us to the next option: skin.
In here we see a "normal" skin color in a pale gradient but, again, this is a game
where you can have exotic skin colors, like purple, blue, or even lizard skin,
so I'd like to think that this is going to give us that option.
Then we see Psyche, so what is that?
Every implant you put in your body has a cost, apart from the money, and it's a cost in
humanity and empathy, the more implants you have the less empathy, and this cost is different
depending on the type of implant.
If you reach a certain level of having very little empathy, then you turn into a cyber-psycho.
Then you have the height, the weight, and the outfit.
Every moment you spend living is a moment you spend learning
Spend less time learning and more time living
with Raven IntelPlus Brain Implants
Reality redifined by microcybernetics
In the pen and paper game, the "Outfit" is not the clothes you wear but the personal
items you always carry with you, like, I don't know, a portable bed, so I'd like to think
they kept it like that in here.
But it may include also the clothing
It may. You have in here up to 5 units of outfit
if it was clothing we would have the shirt, the pants or skirt, boots, jacket,
gloves and headwear and that would make 6 category
Headwear can be under the cyberwear category
Good point.
It can be.
On the right we can see that you can go into detail with hair, head, and body, again I
expect exotic colors in the hair
Otherwise it would be REALLY disappointing
And in head and body you can also see cybernetics, but as cybernetics are another option of the
main menu, let's go back to it.
The second option of the main menu is cyberwear.
Cyberwear works more or less like implants but they are not implanted in the body.
You can wear like, for instance, a headset that gives you supervision, but as it's
not implanted you save the cost in empathy and humanity that you would have if you used, for instance,
some Kiroshi implants that gave you the same supervision.
As we don't have an example of the breakdown of this menu, let's go for the next.
And the next is Cybernetics.
And in this example, we have the detail of the head, with brain, eyes, and vocals.
And in here, we encounter the first thing that I don't like.
That is a very stupid thing unless you're obsessed with the lore
Which is your case
and I really hope they already considered
doing it differently as we see here, which most probably won't happen
So, cyberware, fashionware and cybernetics are things that you buy into the game.
So, character customization is something that you do at the beginning of the game, meaning
that if you're dropped into the Cyberpunk world most probably you already have some
cyberware and implants before starting the game, unless you plan to side with a boostergang
like the Inquisitors that believe that implants are evil or you have any other reason to start
as a natural human.
If you start with implants, you bought them at some point in your, let's call it, life
before the game starts.
So what's the thing here, these items are manufactured by someone,
sometimes by a megacorporation.
And you may start the game feeling sympathy for a very specific megacorporation.
For instance, you make a Japanese character and you know that Arasaka is keen on protecting
Japanese communities on Night City, so if you have a certain sympathy for Arasaka
most probably you're not going to buy anything from their lifelong enemy Militech.
In the case of the tactical lens shown here as an example, this cyber-optic can be
manufactured by Militech if it's military grade or by Kiroshi, a brand specialized in
cyber optics that we could see in the teaser, so I would like to know who manufactures this cyber-optic.
And I see no brand in here
Because that's the supermarket white brand?
There are several cybernetics options that are listed in the basic 2020 sourcebook
without mentioning what brand is commercializing it, and I can guess that this tactical lens that
we see in this example is the radar sensor listed in the basic 2020 sourcebook,
and in this list the brand manufacturing doesn't appear, it has a 100m range, it's 70% effective,
cost 200 euro bucks and has a humanity loss of 2.
So, what do I mean with that?
I mean that even if it's lore friendly, because it's lore friendly, I, in my personal
taste would rather seeing brands listed when you're acquiring new cyberwear or implants
to be lore obsessive more than lore friendly.
So that, I repeat, is personal taste.
And it's funny because recently we were discussing about this "radar view" with
someone in the comments, it's always everywhere.
Even if it's not justified
Well, in here it is justified, it can be cyberware or implants
And also this mockup doesn't go into detail about the options you have for the implants,
which leads me to believe that this is an old mockup that probably changed a lot.
But, again, it's good to know that they are contemplating all the options we see here.
And then, last part of the menu, weapons.
Or at least you think is weapons
Which I am not 100% certain.
I'm around 90% certain this is weapons.
And in here, I'm sure we will find a typical weapons screen Borderlands style
With brands listed
With brands listed.
Brands are VERY important for the weapons.
And that's all about the character creation mockups, and as I said before, even if this
is a mockup from very early stages of development, I'm glad to see they were considering so
much level of detail.
But this could be fan art
Well, usually when something is fan art and
a bunch of people on the internet looks for it, eventually the author of the fan art appears,
and they deserve to if they did a good fan art piece, but in this case, I could see no
traces of it.
Now let's go for the alleged interface screen, with a quick Google search you can see that
this image was uploaded more or less one year ago by Henrik Giang to Artstation, he didn't
claim it was official, he's a student according to his profile and it looks like a fan art
more than an actual asset, obviously if this was real CDPR wouldn't allow to upload it
to ArtStation and this artist would have a Non-Disclosure Agreement that would prevent
him to do so.
So, no further comments about that.
And I think that's all
Well, it was a lot
I'm happy that we finally could see some images of Cyberpunk 2077 even if they are
old mockups that don't represent the final quality of the game
Remember that: these images are not gospel
But it's a start.
